Data centers are estimated to be responsible for 13% of energy consumed in world by 2030. Rapid increase in data storage and server performance requirements are the main causes of increase in energy consumption especially for hyperscale data centers such as in financial and banking industry. However small-scale data centers accounted for 70% of total consumption in 2020, which indicates the energy saving potential due to the old systems and un-specially designed buildings. Unlike standard buildings, data centers have high indoor heat gain, therefore high thermal conductivity in cold climates, low conductivity in hot climates is preferable.Cooling systems analysis, air flow analysis, capacity management and network software have been developed to achieve energy savings in data centers in literature. However, a software that calculates the energy demand by taking into account the building details, location and renewable energy systems installed in the data center is not found. In this study a software is developed to calculate final energy demand of datacenters by taking into account the location, building details, IT devices and renewable energy system. For the verification of developed software, hourly energy consumption data of a data center of a private bank is used.

BACKGROUND: Two different tomato scions, cv. Elazig and cv. Sweet (cherry) (Solanum lycopersicum L.) were self-grafted and grafted onto tobacco root stock (Nicotiana tobacum L.). Then, grafted tomato plants were evaluated in terms of flower and fruit yield. Tobacco-grafted tomato plant fruits were also evaluated for nicotine content. RESULTS: Tobacco grafting had a positive effect on the tomato plant cultivation performance; the onset of flowering was almost 15 days earlier and the tomato flower and fruit yields increased in both tomato cultivars. Tobacco grafting resulted in 5.0% and 30.1% increase in total fruit weight for cv. Sweet and cv. Elazig, respectively. Because the level of nicotine was within acceptable ranges, tobacco-grafted tomato fruits were considered to be safe for consumption. Self-grafted tomato cultivars also had flowering time onsets almost 11 days earlier. However, self-grafting caused 6.0% and 7.6% less total fruit yield per cv. Sweet and cv. Elazig, respectively. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, our results show that tomato–tobacco grafting is a novel and promising technique for improvement of not only tomato plant performance and yield, but also that it can be employed to various tomato varieties. The karyotype of Pseudophoxinus antalyae was analyzed using G-banding, C-banding, Ag-NOR staining, and Q-banding. Chromosome analysis of this species, which lives in the Berdan River and Berdan Dam Lake, was performed with the air-drying technique, using gill and fin epithelium cells. The diploid chromosome number of P. antalyae was determined to be 2n = 50, comprising 16 metacentric, 14 submetacentric, 12 subtelocentric, and 8 acrocentric (NF = 92) chromosomes. The largest chromosome pair of the complements was characteristically a submetacentric. The nucleolar organizer regions (NORs) were apparently located in subtelocentric chromosome pairs. The karyotype of P. antalyae is reported for the first time., Giemsa bant, C-bant, Ag-NOR bant ve Quinacrine bant teknikleri kullanılarak Pseudophoxinus antalyae’nin karyolojik analizi yapılmıştır. Kromozom analizi Berdan nehri ve Berdan barajında yaşayan örneklerin solungaç ve yüzgeç epitellerinden, havada kurutma tekniği kullanılarak yapılmıştır. P. antalyae’nin diploit kromozom sayısı 50, karyotipi ise 16 metasentrik, 14 submetasentrik, 12 subtelosentrik ve 8 akrosentrik (NF = 92) olarak belirlenmiştir. En büyük kromozomun submetasentrik olduğu görülmüştür. NOR bölgeleri subtelosentrik kromozom çiftleri üzerinde bulunmaktadır. P. antalyae’nin karyotipi bu çalışma ile ilk kez tanımlanmıştır.

Bu çalışmada; ilköğretim öğrencilerinin fen bilgisi dersine yönelik tutumlarını geliştirmede araştırmaya dayalı öğrenme yaklaşımının, öğretmen merkezli açıklamalı yöntemlere (düz anlatım, soru-cevap) göre etkili olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini; 2004–2005 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Ankara ili, Çankaya ilçesinde bulunan Beytepe ve Mehmet İçkale İlköğretim okullarında öğrenim gören 104 yedinci sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak; Geban ve ark. (1994) tarafından öğrencilerin fen bilgisi dersine yönelik tutumlarını ölçmek için geliştirilen “Fen Bilgisi Dersi Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada, ön test son test kontrol gruplu deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonunda, araştırmaya dayalı fen bilgisi derslerindeki öğrencilerin derse yönelik tutumlarının öğretmen merkezli fen bilgisi dersindeki öğrencilere göre anlamlı düzeyde daha yüksek çıktığı görülmüştür. Bu sonuçlar öğrencilerle yapılan görüşmelerden elde edilen verilerle de desteklenmiştir., In this study, the effectiveness of the inquiry-based learning approach as to teacher centered descriptive methods was investigated in developing the attitudes towards science of elementary students. The research group consisted of 104 seventh grade students of Beytepe and Mehmet İçkale Primary Schools located in the city of Ankara, district of Çankaya during the spring period within 2004-2005. In the study, “Attitude Scale towards Science” which was developed by Geban et al (1994) has been used in order to measure the attitudes of students towards science. In the study, pretest-posttest with control group experimental design was used. As a result of the study, attitudes of the students towards science are significantly extent higher in inquiry-based science course. These results were supported with the data which were obtained through the interviews with students.

Bu araştırmada; ilköğretim 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin fen bilgisi dersindeki akademik başarılarını geliştirmede araştırmaya dayalı öğrenme yaklaşımının etkililiği incelenmiştir. Yansız olarak seçilmiş deney ve kontrol gruplu deneysel desen kullanılarak yapılan çalışma, 2004-2005 yılı bahar döneminde Ankara ili, Çankaya ilçesi, Beytepe ve Mehmet İçkale İlköğretim okullarının 7. sınıflarında uygulanmıştır. Okulların deney grubunda araştırmaya dayalı öğrenme yaklaşımı, kontrol grubunda ise öğretmen merkezli açıklamalı yöntemler (düz anlatım, soru-cevap, gösteri) kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonunda elde edilen bulgulara göre; araştırmaya dayalı öğrenme yaklaşımının kullanıldığı deney grubundaki öğrencilerin fen bilgisi dersindeki akademik başarıları, kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere göre anlamlı düzeyde farklılık göstermiştir. Deney grubundaki öğrencilerin cinsiyetlerine, internet kullanım ve kütüphanede kaynak tarama bilgilerine göre başarıları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunamamıştır. Kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerin fendeki akademik başarıları cinsiyet ve kütüphanede kaynak tarama bilgilerine göre anlamlı farklılık göstermezken, internet kullanım bilgilerine göre anlamlı farklılık oluşmuştur., This study investigated the effectiveness of inquiry-based learning approach on 7th grade students’ science academic achievement. The study which was conducted by using the quasi- experimental design with the random selected treatment and control group was carried out on 7th grade students of Beytepe and Mehmet İçkale Primary Schools located in the city of Ankara, district of Çankaya during the spring period within 2004-2005. Inquiry-based learning approach was used in the treatment group; and the teacher-centered methods were used in the control group. In the end of the study findings showed that the students in the experimental group who were taught with inquiry-based approach had better acquisition of scientific conceptions than those in the control group who were taught by teacher-centered instruction. No significant differences between experimental group students with respect to gender, use of internet as a source of information and library as a source searching data was found. In control group; no significant differences as to gender and library as a source searching data but a significant difference with respect to use of internet as a source of information was found.

Bu araştırmada, bilgisayar destekli bir öğretim materyalinin öğrencilerin biyoloji dersine karşı tutum ve başarılarına etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın deneysel çalışması, 2007-2008 eğitim-öğretim yılı güz döneminde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışma, Ankara ili Yenimahalle ilçesi Gazi Endüstri Meslek Lisesi (GATEM) 9-D ve 9-E sınıfı öğrencileri ile Gazi Çiftliği Lisesi 9-A ve 9-E sınıfı öğrencilerinden oluşan toplam 105 kişilik bir gruba uygulanmıştır. Başarı düzeyleri birbirlerine yakın seviyede olan bu öğrenciler kura yöntemiyle deney ve kontrol grubu olmak üzere iki gruba ayrılmıştır. Deney grubuna Adobe Flash 8 programı ile hazırlanan bilgisayar destekli öğretim materyali uygulanırken, kontrol grubuna ise anlatım yöntemi ile öğretim yapılmıştır. Araştırmada veriler toplanırken öğrencilerin, akademik başarılarını ölçmek için hazırlanan Biyoloji Başarı Testi ile biyoloji dersine karşı tutumlarını ölçmek için Geban (1991) tarafından geliştirilen Biyoloji Dersi Tutum Ölçeği ön test ve son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler t testi ile analiz edilmiş ve verilerin değerlendirilmesinde SPSS 11 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Değerlendirme sonucunda, deney grubundaki öğrencilerin kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere göre akademik başarılarında anlamlı bir gelişme olmasına rağmen, biyoloji dersine karşı olan tutumlarında anlamlı bir farklılık görülmemiştir. Ayrıca Gazi Çiftliği Lisesinden elde edilen sonuçlara göre cinsiyetin öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına ve biyoloji dersine olan tutumlarına etkisinin olmadığı ortaya çıkmıştır. The experimental part of the research was performed in fall semestre of 2007-2008 school year. This research has been performed on a group of 105 students who are in 9-D and 9-E classes of Gazi Industrial High School (GATEM) and 9-A and 9-E classes of Gazi Çiftliği High School in Yenimahalle, ANKARA. These students, who have similar lesson grades, have been divided by draw into two, experimental and control groups. The control group was educated traditionally while computer supported educational material made by means of Adobe Flash 8 program was applied to experimental group. In order to gather the data, Biology Success Test was used for measuring knowledge of students and Biology Lesson Attitude Scale developed by Geban (1991) was used as pre-test and post-test for measuring attitudes of students towards the lesson. Data gathered from the research was analyzed with t test and evaluated by SPSS 11 program. Survey results have shown that students in experimental group have significant development in their academic success towards Biology Lesson compared to the students in control group. However we couldn't see any significant difference in their attitudes towards Biology Lesson. (according to p=0,05). In addition to these results, data gathered from the research on students of Gazi Çiftliği High School showed us that gender of the students had no effects on success or attitude towards Biology Lesson.

Eİğitimli olsun ya da olmasın, her insanın kendi vücudunu ve vücudunu oluşturan yapıları bilmesi vazgeçilemez bir gerekliliktir. Anatomi dersi geçmite olduİu gibi günümüzde de geleneksel öİğretim ve deİğerlendirme yöntemleriyle öğİretilmeye çalıılmaktadır. Bu durum, öİğrencilerin derse yönelik tutumlarını olumsuz etkilemektedir. Yurt dıında ve son yıllarda da ülkemizde bata dil öİğretiminde ve az sayıda da olsa fizik, çevre bilimi, fen bilgisi vb. bilim dallarında portfolyo deİerlendirmenin sınıflarda uygulanmasına başlanmıştır. Bu çalımada, anatomi dersinde iskelet ve kas sistemi konularını öİretmek için aratırmacı tarafından gelitirilen portfolyo (bireysel gelişim dosyası- tümel deİğerlendirme dosyası- ürün dosyası) kullanılmıtır. Dosyalar öİrenciler tarafından bireysel olarak hazırlanmasına karın, ibirliİine dayalı öİretim ile de desteklenmitir. Portfolyo deİğerlendirme süreci, öİğrencinin çok yönlü olarak ele alınmasını gerektirdiğİi ve özellikle duyusal özellikleri vurgulandıİı için, araştırma sınav kaygısı ölçeğİi, çalıma davranıı ölçeİi, anatomi dersine ilişkin tutum ölçeİği ve anatomi dersine ilikin öz yeterlik ölçeğİi ile zenginleştirilmiştir. Süreçte akran ve öz deİerlendirmeye yönelik çalımalara aİırlık verilmitir. Örnekleme, Gazi Üniversitesi Kırehir Saİlık Yüksekokulu Hemşirelik Bölümünden 63, Gazi Üniversitesi Kırehir Beden Eİitimi ve Spor Yüksekokulu Beden Eİitimi Öİretmenliğİi Bölümünden 54, Gazi Üniversitesi Kırşehir Eğİitim Fakültesi İİlköİretim Bölümü Fen Bilgisi Öİğretmenliğİi Normal Öğİretim Programından 47 ve Gazi Üniversitesi Kırşehir Eğİitim Fakültesi İİlköİğretim Bölümü Fen Bilgisi Öİğretmenliğİi İikili Öİğretim Programından 51 olmak üzere toplam 215 öİrenci katılmıştır. Bu öİğrencilerin 109'u portfolyo ve 106'sı da geleneksel deİğerlendirme grubunda yer almışlardır. Çalımadan elde edilen veriler SPSS istatistiksel analiz paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin çeşitliliğİi dikkate alınarak veri toplama araçlarının gelitirilmesinde faktör analizi ve güvenirlik testi kullanılırken, verilerin analizinde iki yönlü ANOVA ve t-Testi kullanılmıtır. Sonuçta, araştırmacının gelitirdiğİi portfolyonun öİrencide akademik baarı, erii ve bilginin kalıcılıİını bir miktar artırdıİğı, bunun yanında öğİrencinin özellikle duyusal özelliklerini ve yaam becerilerini olumlu yönde etkilediİi gözlemlenmitir. Portfolyo ve geleneksel deİğerlendirme yöntemi olarak iki ayrı deİğerlendirme şeklinde yapılandırılan bu aratırmada iki deİğerlendirme yöntemi arasındaki fark sınav kaygısı, öz yeterlik, tutum ve çalışma davranışı gibi bilisel ve duyusal özellikler bakımından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur.
