EFFECTS OF COMPUTER SUPPORTED EDUCATION MATERIALS ON STUDENTS' ATTIDUTES AND SUCCESS

Bu araştırmada, bilgisayar destekli bir öğretim materyalinin öğrencilerin biyoloji dersine karşı tutum ve başarılarına etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın deneysel çalışması, 2007-2008 eğitim-öğretim yılı güz döneminde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışma, Ankara ili Yenimahalle ilçesi Gazi Endüstri Meslek Lisesi (GATEM) 9-D ve 9-E sınıfı öğrencileri ile Gazi Çiftliği Lisesi 9-A ve 9-E sınıfı öğrencilerinden oluşan toplam 105 kişilik bir gruba uygulanmıştır. Başarı düzeyleri birbirlerine yakın seviyede olan bu öğrenciler kura yöntemiyle deney ve kontrol grubu olmak üzere iki gruba ayrılmıştır. Deney grubuna Adobe Flash 8 programı ile hazırlanan bilgisayar destekli öğretim materyali uygulanırken, kontrol grubuna ise anlatım yöntemi ile öğretim yapılmıştır. Araştırmada veriler toplanırken öğrencilerin, akademik başarılarını ölçmek için hazırlanan Biyoloji Başarı Testi ile biyoloji dersine karşı tutumlarını ölçmek için Geban (1991) tarafından geliştirilen Biyoloji Dersi Tutum Ölçeği ön test ve son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler t testi ile analiz edilmiş ve verilerin değerlendirilmesinde SPSS 11 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Değerlendirme sonucunda, deney grubundaki öğrencilerin kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere göre akademik başarılarında anlamlı bir gelişme olmasına rağmen, biyoloji dersine karşı olan tutumlarında anlamlı bir farklılık görülmemiştir. Ayrıca Gazi Çiftliği Lisesinden elde edilen sonuçlara göre cinsiyetin öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına ve biyoloji dersine olan tutumlarına etkisinin olmadığı ortaya çıkmıştır. The experimental part of the research was performed in fall semestre of 2007-2008 school year. This research has been performed on a group of 105 students who are in 9-D and 9-E classes of Gazi Industrial High School (GATEM) and 9-A and 9-E classes of Gazi Çiftliği High School in Yenimahalle, ANKARA. These students, who have similar lesson grades, have been divided by draw into two, experimental and control groups. The control group was educated traditionally while computer supported educational material made by means of Adobe Flash 8 program was applied to experimental group. In order to gather the data, Biology Success Test was used for measuring knowledge of students and Biology Lesson Attitude Scale developed by Geban (1991) was used as pre-test and post-test for measuring attitudes of students towards the lesson. Data gathered from the research was analyzed with t test and evaluated by SPSS 11 program. Survey results have shown that students in experimental group have significant development in their academic success towards Biology Lesson compared to the students in control group. However we couldn't see any significant difference in their attitudes towards Biology Lesson. (according to p=0,05). In addition to these results, data gathered from the research on students of Gazi Çiftliği High School showed us that gender of the students had no effects on success or attitude towards Biology Lesson.
