Abstract

The scientific societies of Britain assumed economic orientations after the 1830s, when the entrepreneurs assumed their leadership. Industrially applicable scientific knowledge became the main concerns of these organizations after the leadership change. The necessary technical and infrastructural knowledge was quickly gathered and applied. The societies' innovative approaches accelerated the process of British industrial revolution during 1780-1850.
