This article explores the role of blockchain technology in changing the structure of a country's monetary base. Specifically, it examines the potential benefits and risks of using blockchain in monetary policy, such as efficiency, transparency, and new opportunities for managing the financial system. The article highlights changes in approaches to monetary policy through the use of blockchain-based digital currencies, as well as discusses challenges that may arise in implementing this technology. The conclusions of this article may be valuable for government agencies, central banks, and researchers interested in the impact of blockchain technology on the financial sector. In recent years, the adoption of blockchain technology as an alternative to fiat currencies in various countries around the world has significantly expanded globally, as a significant number of business organizations have recognized the importance of all the advantages that blockchain technology provides. Previously, the focus was on cost control to remain competitive, but lately blockchain technologies have somewhat shifted the significance and monetary mass, influencing the structure of a certain country's monetary base. Based on recent research and publications, the article emphasizes the importance of understanding economic principles that govern the determination of the impacts of various economic and financial indicators on components of economic growth and predicting the consequences of such decisions. It references the seminal work of economists P. Romer, R. Lucas, R. Barro, I. Salla y Martin, and R. Levine, who laid the foundation for studying endogenous economic development. The purpose of this article is to investigate the practice of implementing blockchain technology in the financial support of various economic processes of economic entities and their impact on the structure of a country's monetary base. Thus, it has been identified that the influence of blockchain on the structure of the monetary base itself has received little attention. Despite blockchain being used as an alternative to components of the monetary base, thereby changing its structure within a certain country, most studies focus on literature reviews and provide information for practitioners and academic communities. Therefore, this article aims to bridge the gap by developing a model to identify distortions in the structure of the monetary base under the influence of blockchain. The effective use of blockchain is still being explored. As a result, the operations of many companies using blockchain technologies for payments are vulnerable to technical issues. Blockchain technology is utilized to address this problem and facilitate data exchange among relevant stakeholders. This document presents a benchmark for the impact of blockchain technology on the structure and mass of the monetary base for a specific country, integrating blockchain for sustainable money functioning with the integration of the Internet of Things and big data. Finally, potential benefits and limitations are analyzed during the implementation of this framework. Methods. Macroeconomic analysis, econometric analysis, trend analysis. Results. Determination of the level of influence of blockchain technologies on the change in the structure and volume of the monetary base of a certain country. The study casts doubt on classical economic doctrines by establishing a strong correlation between the distribution of components of the monetary base in its structure and the use of blockchain technology for payments for goods, labor, and services. It emphasizes that the economic growth of a country and the structure of its monetary base depend on the proportion of blockchain technology usage in that country. This research opens up possibilities for further studies in this interdisciplinary field.

The failure of major banks in 2023, such as Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), Signature Bank, First Republic Bank, and Credit Suisse, points to the continuing need for financial institutions to price liquidity risk properly and for financial systems to find alternative sources of liquidity in times of dire need. Central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), fiat-backed stablecoins (fsCOINs), and synthetic central bank digital currencies (sCBDCs) could offer improvements, but each comes with its own set of problems and conditions. Prior research reaches conflicting conclusions about the effect that each of these three financial assets has on systemic bank liquidity and fails to adequately address their net benefits relative to each other. This paper addresses these issues, including those connected to financial disintermediation, bank runs, outsourcing central bank activities, financial interoperability, cash equivalents, maturity transformation, required reserves, and changes in nations' monetary bases. After addressing the strengths and weaknesses of fsCOINs and CBDCs, we conclude that sCBDCs provide the most significant net liquidity benefits when risks and returns are considered. Crucial to the debates on monetarism is the money aggregate relevant to its key propositions, in particular those that relate to the determination of nominal national income and inflation. In his influential work on 'market monetarism', Scott Sumner has accorded a privileged position to the monetary base in the key monetarist propositions. This article argues that, on the contrary, in a modern economy the role of cash is so small, as well as so clandestine, that the monetary base does not play any direct role in the determination of national income and inflation. In recent decades, the inflation phenomenon has been one of the most important issues for Iranian economy. Regardless of its effects on economy, identifying the determinants of inflation has always been a challenge in all economies. Therefore, in order to compare the endogenous money theory with the quantity theory of money, this study analyzes the relationship between inflation and its determinants. To this end, the spectral analysis approach at high and low frequencies is applied during the period 1991: Q1 to 2018: Q1. The results show that there is the causality relationship from the growth of liquidity towards inflation as well as from inflation to liquidity in the short- term and long-term. In addition, there is the causality relationship from the monetary base growth to inflation in the long-term, while this causal relationship runs from monetary base growth towards inflation in the short-term. Moreover, the causality relationship from money multiplier growth to inflation is confirmed in the long-term. Consequently, the causes of inflation are different in the short- and long-term.

Monetary policy is one of the most powerful instruments of economic policy owned by the state. This is a set of measures aimed at changing the money supply, loan amount, interest rate and regu-lation of the banking system as a whole. That is why the article discusses the main issues of monetary policy and its development trends. In other words, what methods and tools are currently used by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, their main advantages and disadvantages, macroeconomic results of monetary policy. In this regard, the purpose of this article is to study the financial and credit methods of state regulation of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the concept of monetary policy. The study used economic methods used in the study of economic conditions. The article ana-lyzes the situation and indicators of monetary policy for the last two years of 2017 and 2018, as well as changes and trends in monetary policy in 2019. In 2018, the National Bank focused on the further development of the money and foreign exchange market, as well as the government securities market, and demonstrated the importance of a number of initiatives aimed at improving the effectiveness of monetary policy. The results of the study allow students to apply them during their studies.

The evolution of forms and types of money has been сonsidered. The features of the economic nature and the issue of modern credit money have been determined. Based on the study of the mechanism of providing liquidity in order to refinance commercial banks in various countries, the features of forming the monetary base and, accordingly, the emission mechanism in the modern economy have been identified. The specificity of the formation of the monetary base of the Bank of Russia at various stages of development of the Russian economy has been defined. Special attention has been paid to the study of the economic nature of emerging in the conditions of development of digital technologies of electronic money and virtual currencies.

The article presents the results of research on the gold reserve of Ukraine and evaluation of its use as an instrument of financial policy of the State. The role and functions of gold in the country’s economy are defined. The dynamics of the gold reserve of Ukraine during the period of its independence is analyzed. For the purposes of forecasting of inflation and rate of the national currency in comparison with other currencies, the cyclical changes in dynamics of the gold reserve are allocated, going along in trend with cyclicity of the market economy and random fluctuations. The author compares the tendencies of change of the absolute size of GDP and the gold reserve of Ukraine, also the rates of their growth. The dynamics of the gold reserve of Ukraine is characterized in comparison with dynamics of the monetary base. The regression curve of deficit of the State budget of Ukraine and its gold reserve is built. The correlation coefficients between the price indices and the value of the gold reserve are calculated.

A parametric approach to forecasting vectors of macroeconomic indicators, which incorporates functional dependencies between them, has been considered in this paper. As it is possible to functionally bind together most indicators, we believe that this information can help to substantially decrease their forecast error. In this paper, we have proposed to readjust the traditionally obtained forecasts given the known analytical form of the relationship between the considered indicators by the maximum likelihood method. We have also derived a standard form of the readjusted probability density function for each analyzed indicator by normalizing its marginal distribution. In order to prove the efficiency of the proposed method, an empirical out-of-sample investigation has been carried out regarding a simple example for such macroeconomic indicators as gross domestic product (GDP), GDP deflator, and GDP in constant prices.

The paper analyses the risks of the global financial system and concludes that worsening sustainability in financial markets can impede the growth of the leading economies. Excesses in the global stock market are among the core risk factors. The analysis of the situation in Russia conducted in the paper reveals that interest rates are quite high, which hampers economic growth. The policy of monetary regulators is still based on external sources of funding the economy. Against a background of global unrest and more sanctions against Russia coming, such an approach can retard the development of the Russian economy even further. In this regard, the author justifies the relevance of using the money creation mechanism on the basis of national growth priorities and internal sources of its funding.

In this study, the monetary base growth rate in Turkey is questioning whether a relationship between economic growth. In the study, "Wide money supply (M3)" and "Growth" variables for the period 1969-2017 were subjected to an empirical analysis. ARDL test was applied to investigate the presence of co-integration between the "Growth" series and the "Large Money Supply (M3)" series. Results show that there is a co-integration (long-term) relationship between "monetary base growth" and "economic growth" in Turkey. Then, with the ARDL model, it is seen that financial development has a long-term enhancing effect on growth. As a result of the Granger causality test with the Toda Yamamoto approach applied to determine the causality relationship between the series, it was observed that there was no causality between the two series. Referring to Turkey's economy is that there is a significant impact on the growth of the money supply. Because an advanced financial system is needed in order to target sustainable growth requirements. Emphasizing on designing the four paths of oil and energy impact on the Iranian economy, a New-Keynesian comprehensive DSGE model is simulated. In the present study, shocks in the form of two important paths monetary base and government oil revenues are analyzed. Monetary impulses, in addition to inflation, instantly have a positive impact on nominal and real exchange rates, firms' investment, employment, production, import of consumer and capital goods. The impulse for government oil revenues in the first period will also increase government development and current expenditure, general price level, import of capital and consumer goods, and household consumption. Then the demand side of the economy is expanded crosssectionally and increased non-oil production at the rate of 0.8%. In contrast, with the decline in private sector investment and employment, non-oil production has fallen sharply over two periods, even falling from a stable long-term situation, which means that the Resource Curse in the Iranian economy is realizing. On the other hand, as a result of the shocks in oil revenues, the Crowding-Out Effect on the Iranian economy will be strengthened as government capital spending increases and firms' investments decrease. Government bonds are usually traded between the financial institutions and the Fed during the open market operations. These operations impact the bank reserves, subsequently influencing the monetary base. The monetary base and government bonds may portray a common trend and government debt could potentially bind the central bank to debt monetization. This paper, using monthly data on federal government debt and the monetary base from 1947:1 to 2018:10, investigates the presence of a long‐run equilibrium relationship between the two variables and as to how the long‐run equilibrium relationship vary in the short‐run. Threshold cointegration tests find evidence of a long‐run equilibrium relationship. Estimates of the threshold vector error‐correction model find statistically significant evidence of contraction in the monetary base growth in the short‐run in regime 1. In regime 2, the growth in the monetary base does not adjust to accommodate faster government debt growth. These estimates find no evidence of debt monetization or otherwise in either of the regimes in the United States. The Fed, by reducing the monetary base, perhaps focuses more on the inflation target. The findings also suggest a potential scenario where the Fed and the fiscal authority are not conjoined with each other in their operations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Designing a New-Keynesian dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model, in this paper, we evaluate the impacts of monetary shocks originated from monetary base and monetary multiplier on fluctuations of macroeconomic variables in Iranian economy. Due to importance of financial sector in transmition of economic policies effects, banking system and its current status such as fixed asset accumulation and NPLs has been added to the baseline model. Calibration of parameters of model according to quarterly data of Iranian economy during period 1990-2014 shows that the model fits the data quite satisfactorily. We find that a negative shock to reserve requirement results in slight output growth and inflation while a positive shock to banks’ borrowing from central bank results in output decline and higher inflation. In other words, for the same amount of liquidity growth, increasing of liquidity from a change in monetary multiplier, in contrast to change in monetary base, results in lower inflation and stimulating output. Therefore, it has been suggested that monetary authority should control the amount of borrowings made by banks and, instead, decreases their reserve requirement ratio as an incentive tool. This approach will encourage banks to adhere to their credit line limits and avoid overdrafts which result in higher level of stability in macroeconomic variables through monetary discipline.

This paper aims at determining the threshold level of fiscal deficits with regards to monetary growth. Data for the study are obtained from Central Bank of Nigeria Statistical publication between 1986 and 2016. The empirical findings suggest that optimal level of fiscal deficits with regards to monetary growth is at the point where the fiscal deficits, as a percentage of GDP is 31. The major conclusion from the study is that continuous accumulation of deficits in the economy by the government should be avoided. This can be done by strengthen fiscal consolidaton and provision of viable institutional fiscal rules so as not reach the threshold level.
