Although it’s well known that theories are as much practical as the practices, the training designers seems enable to mix the twice. Dewey tell us to abolish dualism as object/subject, mind/body, etc. But most of vocational trainers, most training companies are used to prepare training frameworks based on academic or practical knowledge. The take of this paper is to show that the breaking of dualism is possible. Taking the physiotherapist vocational training as an example, we show the benefit of using the potential of the work situation to cross valuation and inquiry to design new training frameworks. Our method is a qualitative on work analysis as a training situation. The three main findings concern the inquiry, which reveled three ways of valuation: prizing the condition of a patient, guiding the diagnose, deliberate on the best way between cure and care.; Dans les dispositifs de formation professionnelle initiale en alternance, la question de ce qu’apportent respectivement la théorie et la pratique se poursuit, bien que soit connu depuis longtemps l’aspect pratique des théories, et la dimension conceptuelle de nombreuses pratiques. C’est à un même défi que Dewey nous confronte, en abolissant le dualisme sujet/ objet, objectif/subjectif ou corps/esprit. Alors que Dewey est un penseur reconnu de l’éducation, son épistémologie peine à se concrétiser dans les pratiques. C’est cet enjeu auquel cet article s’attaque en montrant au travers d’exemples concrets, l’innocuité de cette rupture des dualismes pour la formation de jeunes professionnels de masso-kinésithérapie. Nous le ferons nous appuyant sur deux thèmes majeurs de sa pensée, enquête et valuation, liés ici dans la formation du bilan-diagnostic kinésithérapique. C’est le premier point, contextuel, de cet écrit. Nous présentons ensuite trois vignettes d’un corpus de données tirées de la formation du diagnostic, en les commentant. Enfin, nous relèverons l’intérêt mais également les limites de notre tentative.
