Memorial Day festivals attracted record numbers of visitors despite the advent of rain in many areas. Festivals that attracted 100,000 or more visitors during the three-day weekend included the Finast Great American Rib Cook-off in Cleveland, OH; the Riverfest in Little Rock, AR, and the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee in Sacramento, CA. Events that attracted 10,000 or more visitors included the Moonshine Festival in Straitsville, OH; the Guthrie Jazz Banjo Festival in Guthrie, OK, and the Horned Toad Derby in Coalinga, CA., As is often the case, rainy weather impacted several of the festivals that ran over Memorial Day Weekend, but even so, many events reported strong numbers and were generally upbeat.
