Abstract Background: Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is the main cause of end stage kidney disease(ESKD) and It has become a heavy economic and social burden due to its high prevalence and morbidity. However, the current therapies for DKD are not entirely perfect. The most effective strategy is that patients with DKD should be diagnosed and treated early. Preliminary studies showed the Chinese herbal Tangshen Formula(TSF) may delay the progression of DKD, reducing micro-and macro-albuminuria, improving renal function. This trial was conducted to assess the effectiveness and safety of TSF used in combination with conventional treatment. Methods/design: We are implementing a randomized, placebo-controlled, multicenter, clinical trial as a means of evaluating the effectiveness and safety of TSF. 623 participants will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to an experiment group (TSF plus Losartan) and a control group (placebo plus Losartan). The trial cycle lasts 24 weeks. The primary outcome will be changes in ACR from baseline to 24 weeks between the two groups and ACR will be compared at baseline and treatment endpoint in each group. The secondary outcome will be changes in the ratio of progression into the clinical proteinuria period after intervention, Urine micro albumin negative conversion rate, the ratio of normal urinary micro albumin, doubling rate of baseline creatinine value and GFR between the two groups. Safety in medication will also be evaluated. Discussion: We hypothesize that type 2 diabetic patients in early stage of DKD will benefit from TSF. If successful, this study will provide an evidence-based complementary remedies for delaying the progression of DKD. Background: Presently, the efficacy of drug treatments for diabetic retinopathy (DR) is not satisfactory. This study is designed to provide evidence that a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation delays the development of DR. Methods: This study is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled parallel-group, multicenter clinical trial, consisting of 384 participants to be randomized in a 1:1 ratio in the treatment and control groups, and receive a basic treatment. Furthermore, the treatment and control groups will be administered the TangWang prescription and the placebo, respectively, each at a dose of one bag twice a day. The study period will last for 48 weeks. The primary outcome measure will be the changes in the degree of retinal microvascular lesions before and after treatment. The secondary outcome will be changes in the degree of hemangioma, microvascular bleeding, microvascular leakage, macular edema, and vision. All statistical tests will be two-sided, and a P < 0.05 will be considered statistically significant. Discussion: We hypothesize that the patients with DR will benefit from TangWang prescription, and in addition to the central random system and platform of dynamic information collection, the patients’ conditions will be monitored and the data collected for analysis. If successful, this study will provide evidence that the TCM formulation delays the development of DR. Trial registration: ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03025399. Registered on January 19 2017. Objective The majority studies focused on obesity prevention on physical activity and eating behavior. However, epidemiological studies have shown that sleep duration and sleep quality could be an adjustable risk factor for obesity. The aim of this study was to examine the associations of sleep quality with different measurement of obesity in Chinese university students. Methods A total of 481 college students aged 18-25 years volunteered to participate in this study. Sleep quality was assessed by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index （PSQI）questionnaire. International Physical Activity Questionnaire （IPAQ）was used to determine the physical activity, Psychological status was assessed by Self-Rating Depression Scale （SDS） and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS). Body height, weight and waist circumference are measured by a trained researcher. Body composition was evaluated by a bio-impedance device (InBody 230, South Korea). Independent sample t test was applied to compare the sleep characteristics, physical activity, obesity, depression and anxiety in different gender students. The associations among the dependent variables BMI, body fat percentage, and the independent variables age, sleep quality and sleep durations was examined using Multiple linear regression models. SPSS 22.0 (IMB SPSS Inc) was used for all statistical. Results The BMI (22.9±3.4 vs 21.6±3.2, p＜0.001) of male students were significantly higher than that of female, but the percentage of body fat (18.7±6.9 vs 29.7±7.0, p＜0.001) was lower than that of female. We observed a positive association between sleep quality and body fat percentage (β = 0.166, P = 0.037), and a negative association with age (β = -0.166, P = 0.008) in female students. Sleep quality was associated positively with BMI (β = 0.360, P＜0.001), body fat percentage (β = 0.260, P＜0.001), and age (β = 0.215, P＜0.001) in male students; An inverse correlation between sleep duration and BMI (β = -0.141, P = 0.015), body fat percentage (β = -0.134, P = 0.022) was found, and a positive relationship with anxiety scores (β = 0.331, P＜0.001) in male students. while an inverse relationship was found with WHR (β = -0.236, P = 0.001), waist circumference (β = -0.169, P = 0.007), and a positive association between sleep duration with anxiety scores (β = 0.331, P＜0.001) and depression scores (β = 0.415, P＜0.001) in female students. Conclusions The obesity of male and female students goes up with the increase of total score of sleep quality, anxiety and depression, and goes down with the increase of sleep duration, physical activity time and energy consumption. Male obesity increases with age, but female obesity decreases with age. Among the importance of males' sleep duration and sleep quality in the obesity risk assessment, BMI and body fat percentages are more accurate, while for females, BMI and waist circumference is of no statistical significance.

Automatic detection of epileptic seizure plays an important role in the diagnosis of epilepsy for it can obtain invisible information of epileptic electroencephalogram (EEG) signals exactly and reduce the heavy burdens of doctors efficiently. Current automatic detection technologies are almost shallow learning models that are insufficient to learn the complex and non-stationary epileptic EEG signals. Moreover, most of their feature extraction or feature selection methods are supervised and depend on domain-specific expertise. To solve these problems, we proposed a novel framework for the automatic detection of epileptic EEG by using stacked sparse autoencoder (SSAE) with a softmax classifier. The proposed framework firstly learns the sparse and high level representations from the preprocessed data via SSAE, and then send these representations into softmax classifier for training and classification. To verify the performance of this framework, we adopted the epileptic EEG datasets to conduct experiments. The simulation results with an average accuracy of 96 % illustrated the effectiveness of the proposed framework.

Based on the analysis of the structure, function and transmission ways of polar coordinates wafer-handling robot, the radial liner stretching kinematics model of wafer-handling robot is established, and the kinematics character of the robot is analyzed, the kinematics equations of the robot is established. Finally, based on Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Pro/toolkit, the dynamic simulation of polar coordinates wafer-handling robot is realized.

Strengthening using prestressed CFRP plate is a new developed technology in recent years, which can significantly improve the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beams. In this paper, an experimental study including four RC beams stengthened with CFRP plates using self-developed anchorage system was carried out. The nonlinear finite element models of the strengthened beams were constructed to simulate the influence of flexural behavior on RC beams strengthened with CFRP plates under different damage degrees. The experimental results indicated that initial damage degrees have greatly influence on the crack distribution and ductility, deflection and the ultimate flexural strength of the strengthened beams, as well as steel reinforcement strain and CFRP plate strain. Meanwhile, the finite element model can predict accurately performances of strengthened RC beams before CFRP debonding. In addition, the numerical analysis indicated that the sustained loading while strengthening RC beam using prestressed CFRP plates would induce adverse effect, so the live loading should be removed before starting the strengthening works.

On the basis of clarifying the nature of the environmental compensation, this paper is to discuss the subject of the environmental compensation, including the funds providers, and compensation object. The environmental compensation must be a process that matter and energy transfers from the economic system to the environmental system reciprocally and compensatorily, through the funds providers provide funds, intermediaries take the specific measure for environmental restoration. It will be emphasized that the compensation object should be the environment.

To investigate adipokines levels in obese children with acanthosis nigricans (AN) and to explore the relationship between AN and metabolic syndrome (MS).A cross-sectional study was performed on 109 obese children and 47 age- and gender-matched normal controls. The obese children were divided into two groups with AN and without AN. Serum levels of adiponectin, leptin, TNF-α and retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4) were measured using ELISA. Multiple logistic regression analysis was performed to estimate the association of clinical parameters with MS.Waist-hip ratio, systolic blood pressure, triglyceride, fasting insulin and insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) were significantly higher in obese children with AN than in those without AN and normal controls (P0.05). The obese children with AN and without AN had lower adiponectin levels than normal controls (P0.05), on the contrary, the obese children with AN had higher leptin levels than those without AN and normal controls (P0.05). Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that AN (OR=3.469, 95%CI: 1.518-7.929) and BMI (OR=7.108, 95%CI: 2.359-21.416) were independent risk factors for MS.As a visible marker of insulin resistance, AN is associated with abnormal adipokines secretion. Reducing the incidence of AN and losing weight may prevent obesity associated MS.

The characteristics of La 2 O 3 catalysts with three different supports (BaCO 3 , MgO, and ZnO), two different alkaline metal promoters (Na 2 O and Na 2 CO 3 ), and a china clay have been investigated. The relationship of the surface basicity of the support to the activity and selectivity of the catalyst were studied by TPD. The results showed that the surface basicity of these three supports decreased in the following order: BaCO 3 >MgO>ZnO. The choice of Na 2 O as a promoter in La 2 O 3 /(BaCO 3 or MgO) had a better effect than the choice of Na 2 CO 3 . The Na 2 O promoter could increase not only the catalytic activity and the C 2 selectivity, but also lower the optimal reaction temperature. Addition of 15% clay into the La 2 O 3 -alkaline metal catalysts could increase the strength of the catalyst and lower the optimum reaction temperature.
