CoFe2O4 nanoparticles were prepared by the co-precipitation method, the structural properties were performed using X-Ray Diffraction (DRX) in the goal to prove the success of Cobalt ferrite formation and determine crystal parameters. The size and morphological study were building using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The magnetic properties were carried using MPMS SQUID device. The CoFe2O4 nanoparticles present a ferromagnetic behavior below their transition temperature and values of 3 µB of total magnetic moment were achieved under magnetic field of 5 T. Based on the full-potential linearized augmented plane wave (FP-LAPW) method, with the generalized gradient and GGA-PBE approximation, the electronic structure and local magnetic moment were calculated. This theoretical study contributed to a better understanding the role of magnetic interaction sin CoFe2O4 spinel ferrites. Moreover, the theoretical magnetic properties of CoFe2O4 show a good agreement with the experimental results obtained. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) highlighted at the end of 2019 in China is spreading around the world. Most often the cause of an infectious syndrome, associating mild symptoms (fever, cough, myalgia, headache and possible digestive disorders) to different degrees. SARS-CoV-2 can also cause serious lung disease and sometimes death. Here we present a case of a 21-year-old woman who consults for a miscarriage of 8 weeks of amenorrhea and has been diagnosed with concomitant SARS-CoV-2 infection. Vaginal stenosis or gynatresia is a congenital disease and it is part of Mayer-Rokitansky-Kustner-Hauser syndrome. Acquired vaginal stenosis is a rare complication of vaginal delivery and may be caused by an infection, charlatans, birth injury or postpartum hypoestrogeny. We report a case of postpartum complete vaginal stenosis secondary to vaginal injuries as a result of medical negligence. The study involved a 19 year old patient, who had had dead child born vaginally at home, presenting with a two-year history of secondary amenorrhea associated with chronic pelvic pain. The patient reported the occurrence of multiple not sutured vaginal tears. Pelvic MRI showed complete extended vaginal stenosis of about 25mm with upstream haematological retention and bilateral hematosalpinx. The patient underwent release of vaginal adhesions followed by regular vaginal dilation. Only two cases have been reported in the literature. Pain and dyspareunia were the most common symptoms. The Bi-RADS (Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System) classification developed by the ACR (American College of Radiology) is the classification system for radiological images recommended for breast cancer screening. The ACR 4 microcalcification is an indeterminate or suspected abnormality with 2-95% probability of malignancy, according to studies. This disparity pushed us to conduct this retrospective study of 181 patients in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology I at the Hassan II University Hospital, Fez, over a period of 5 years. This study aimed to report the histological results of breast lesions radiologically classified as ACR4 in order to assess their radio-histological correlation and to improve therapeutic approach. All patients underwent breast imaging examinations and then anatomopathologic examination was performed using different techniques. There was a clear predominance of benign lesions with a rate of 62% versus 29% of malignant lesions and only 9% were intermediate lesions. Adenofibroma was the most common histological finding (30% of cases), invasive ductal carcinoma was the most frequent malignant lesion (17% of cases). We performed a literature review which showed that our results were in line with findings of other studies, with a positive predictive value of 29%. Nevertheless, ACR classification divided into subcategories 4a, b and c should be used due to the significant number of unnecessary surgical interventions.

Heterotopic pregnancy is defined as the coexistence of intrauterine pregnancy (IP) and ectopic pregnancy (EP), regardless of its location. It is a type of bi-ovular dizygotic twin pregnancy, its occurrence in a spontaneous cycle is rare. This is a rare and serious pathology which may compromise maternal prognosis. We report two cases of heterotopic pregnancy treated in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics I at the University Hospital Hassan II of Fez, over a one-year period. Clinical, ecographic and therapeutic data of this pathology were reported. Pelvic pain was the main reason for consultation. The diagnosis of heterotopic pregnancy was suspected on ultrasound in both cases. The first patient underwent conservative treatment by laparoscopy while the second patient underwent salpingectomy by mini-transverse laparotomy. IP outcome was favorable both cases.

Gestational trophoblastic disease incorporates a group of diseases which differ from each other by their regressive evolution, their evolution to metastasis and to recurrence. It is a severe disease that affects women of childbearing age. Gestational trophoblastic tumors (GTT) are the malignant forms of gestational trophoblastic diseases. They are always a result of pregnancy, more often molar pregnancy (hydatidiform mole). The most common type of gestational trophoblastic tumors (GTT) is the invasive mole because, in most cases, the diagnosis is made when cancer is still confined to the uterus. Choriocarcinoma is a more rare type of tumor, often developing distant metastases. When there is a progression to a trophoblastic tumor, the assessment of locoregional extension and distant metastases is essential to establish an appropriate treatment protocol. We here report three clinical cases of GTT by describing their clinical presentations and the use of imaging techniques in the diagnosis and management of these disorders.

Normal adnexal torsion is rare during pregnancy. We here report the case of a 22-year old patient presenting with acute lateropelvic pain associated with a 2-month history amenorrhea. Exploratory laparotomy showed severe ischemia due to torsion in a normal ovary. The patient underwent adnexal detorsion without ovarian pexy. The postoperative course was uneventful. Ultrasound examination after 3 weeks showed normal pregnancy. Ovarian torsion is an emergency that should not be ignored in pregnant women with acute pelvic pain. Conservative treatment is the gold standard and proper management is necessary to avoid possible maternal and fetal complications.

The occurrence of rudimentary horn pregnancy is an extremely rare and potentially serious obstetric entity, threatening maternal and fetal outcome. The authors report five cases of rudimentary horn pregnancy, the difficulties in making a proper diagnosis and the therapeutic management of this pathological entity, stressing the importance of transvaginal ultrasound, of pelvic MRI and laparoscopy in the early diagnosis of this type of uterine malformation.

Background: The electrocardiogram (ECG) is a diagnostic tool that records the electrical activity of the heart, and depicts it as a series of graph-like tracings, or waves. Being able to interpret these details allows diagnosis of a wide range of heart problems. Fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) extraction has an important impact in medical diagnostics during the mother pregnancy period. Since the observed FECG signals are often mixed with the maternal ECG (MECG) and the noise induced by the movement of electrodes or by mother motion, the separation process of the ECG signal sources from the observed data becomes quite complicated. One of its complexity is when the ECG sources are dependent, thus, in this paper we introduce a new approach of blind source separation (BSS) in the noisy context for both independent and dependent ECG signal source. This approach consist in denoising the observed ECG signals using a bilateral total variation (BTV) filter; then minimizing the Kullbak-Leibler divergence between copula densities to separate the FECG signal from the MECG one., Results: We present simulation results illustrating the performance of our proposed method. We will consider many examples of independent/dependent source component signals. The results will be compared with those of the classical method called independent component analysis (ICA) under the same conditions. The accuracy of source estimation is evaluated through a criterion, called again the signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR). The first experiment shows that our proposed method gives accurate estimation of sources in the standard case of independent components, with performance around 27 dB in term of SNR. In the second experiment, we show the capability of the proposed algorithm to successfully separate two noisy mixtures of dependent source components - with classical criterion devoted to the independent case - fails, and that our method is able to deal with the dependent case with good performance., Conclusions: In this work, we focus specifically on the separation of the ECG signal sources taken from skin two electrodes located on a pregnant woman's body. The ECG separation is interpreted as a noisy linear BSS problem with instantaneous mixtures. Firstly, a denoising step is required to reduce the noise due to motion artifacts using a BTV filter as a very effective one-pass filter for denoising. Then, we use the Kullbak-Leibler divergence between copula densities to separate the fetal heart rate from the mother one, for both independent and dependent cases.

The concern of obstetric and surgical teams is when diagnosis of omphalocele, the care of the newborn and the prognosis of the malformation, mainly linked to the existence of associated malformations or chromosomal abnormalities. In our case of isolated omphalocele, the overall prognosis was good.

Dermatomyositis (DM) is a rare connective corresponding to an inflammatory disease of skeletal muscles. Paraneoplastic origin must always be sought, primarily gynecological tumor in women, but the investigations are often made difficult by the fact that a primary tumor is often not detectable at the time of the cutaneous manifestations. This approach includes in addition to the monitoring report at regular intervals of 6 to 12 months for two years after diagnosis. We report a case of Dermatomyositis revealing breast cancer.
