Acoustic levitation is widely used in non-container measurement and non-contact manipulation. Particles in the single-axis acoustic levitation are easily unstable in the radial direction under external perturbations. In order to explore the instability in the acoustic levitation during radial perturbations, a nonlinear acoustic levitation model considering the coupling of radial and axial vibration is proposed to analyze the dominant factors influencing the levitation stability, an acoustic levitation system consisting of a transducer and a plane reflector is established, and high-speed photography is used to observe the vibration behavior of the particle with large radial vibration and the levitation stability. The simulation results are compared and verified with the experiments, which indicate that the reduction in axial trapping stiffness due to radial vibration plays a vital role in the levitation instability. The present model can characterize the radial anti-interference ability of different levitators as well as predict the movement trajectories of levitated particles after being disturbed, which is helpful to optimize the design of acoustic levitators and provide guidance for acoustic manipulation. The time delay (TD) in the levitation control system significantly affects the dynamic performance of the closed-loop system in electromagnetic suspension (EMS) maglev vehicles. Excessive TD can cause levitation instability, making it essential to explore effective mitigation methods. To address this issue, a Smith Predictor (SP) is integrated into the traditional PID levitation control system. The combination of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation is employed to assess the stability of the time-delay levitation control system after the integration of the Smith Predictor. Theoretical analysis reveals that when TD exceeds a critical threshold, the levitation system becomes unstable. The addition of SP alters the root trajectory of the system characteristic equation from positive to negative, and recovers the levitation system to stable status. Assuming complete knowledge of the dynamic system, the TD compensation value in the SP becomes a key parameter that determines its performance. A minimum effective value (MEV) for TD compensation is identified, correlating with the system's stability region. Under the influence of TD, more complex systems and higher running speeds of the maglev vehicle lead to a narrower stable region and a larger MEV for TD compensation. Given the simulation parameters in this paper, with a system TD of 15 ms and a maximum vehicle speed of 160 km/h, the MEV for TD compensation in the SP should be set at 12 ms. • Smith Predictor is introduced into maglev control system to mitigate the adverse impact from TD. • Analyzed application value of Smith Predictor in levitation control system with time delay. • Provided suggestions for the broader implementation of Smith Predictor in practical engineering. Vehicle–track beam coupling resonance greatly influences the vibration response of the suspended permanent (SPML) system. Therefore, the study established the coupled dynamic model of the SPML train and the track beam using. The model is used to analyze the dynamic response of SPML trains when passing through the long-span flexible track beam at resonance speed. The accuracy of the model was verified by field tests, which simulated and compared the dynamic responses of maglev train and track beam systems at different running speeds. Furthermore, the coupled vibration response of the train and track beam at resonant speed are investigated to gain insight into the mechanism and vibrational properties of the SPML system in a resonant background. It shows that the dominant frequency of the train, suspension frame, and track beam is 6.74Hz. They result in resonance in the SPML system at 30km/h. Further analysis shows that adjusting the vertical distance between the mass center of the vehicle and the track beam can effectively alleviate the resonance between the vehicle and the track. Additionally, deformation at the ends of the long-span track beams affects the levitation force and gap of the suspension frame, offering valuable guidance for SPML system design. This paper investigates the dynamic response of low-medium-speed (LMS) maglev vehicle moving on the isolated bridge with lead rubber bearings (LRBs). In the vehicle-guideway bridge model, the vehicle is simulated as a 50-degree-of-freedom model consisting of a car-body and ten bogie modules. The guideway bridge with LRB is established by the finite element method, and the guideway is interacted with the vehicle by the actively controlled electromagnetic forces. The LRB is simulated by the nonlinear spring element for reflecting the hysteretic performance, and a fast nonlinear analysis (FNA) method is proposed to achieve the potential nonlinear behavior of LRB under vehicle load. Then, the dynamic response of maglev vehicle running on the isolated bridge with LRB is investigated and compared to that on the non-isolated bridge. The effect of vehicle speed and LRB isolation degree on the coupled system responses is studied. Furthermore, the driving quality of vehicle on LRB bridge is discussed, and the applicability of LRB to maglev line bridge is thoroughly evaluated. The results show that the installation of LRB exhibits relatively insignificant influence on the vertical response of vehicle-guideway system, while could enlarge the lateral response. The lateral response of coupled system is much more vulnerable to the isolation degree, and it is recommended that the isolation degree of LRB should not exceed 2.50 to guarantee the driving comfort and running safety. The suspension system of the Electromagnetic Suspension (EMS) maglev train is crucial for ensuring safe operation. This article focuses on data-driven modeling and control optimization of the suspension system. By the Extended Dynamic Mode Decomposition (EDMD) method based on the Koopman theory, the state and input data of the suspension system are collected to construct a high-dimensional linearized model of the system without detailed parameters of the system, preserving the nonlinear characteristics. With the data-driven model, the LQR controller and Extended State Observer (ESO) are applied to optimize the suspension control. Compared with baseline feedback methods, the optimization control with data-driven modeling reduces the maximum system fluctuation by 75.0% in total. Furthermore, considering the high-speed operating environment and vertical dynamic response of the maglev train, a rolling-update modeling method is proposed to achieve online modeling optimization of the suspension system. The simulation results show that this method reduces the maximum fluctuation amplitude of the suspension system by 40.0% and the vibration acceleration of the vehicle body by 46.8%, achieving significant optimization of the suspension control. The guideway’s alignment deviations are of concern when assessing the vibrations of high-speed maglev transportation systems. Among these, the deformation of the guideway due to solar thermal effects is a critical issue impacting the operational efficiency of a maglev train running on a guideway system. To address this issue, this study integrates solar radiation, shadow masking, heat convection and radiative heat transfer to present a thermal-mechanical coupling model for investigating the temperature-deformation field of guideway girders. Meanwhile, on-site measurements are conducted to confirm the feasibility of using temperature field distribution to estimate the thermal deformation of guideway girders. A solar-thermal field formula suitable for a maglev vehicle-guideway system is proposed to estimate the temperature field distribution on the guideway girders by referencing the formulas in the known specifications. Finally, this paper introduces an electromagnetic feedback controller that adjusts the maglev forces using real-time thermal deformation data to mitigate the effects of solar thermal-induced guideway deformation on the maglev vehicle-guideway system, demonstrating that the dynamic response of a maglev train is significantly influenced by the thermal deformation of guideway girders due to sensitive variations in levitation gaps. High-temperature superconducting pinning maglev technology has great potential for high-speed transportation due to its passive stability and friction-free characteristics. However, at high speeds, the weak damping characteristics of the system make it challenging to attenuate system vibrations caused by external excitation effectively. An electromagnetic shunt damper can be added to the high-temperature superconducting vehicle system to address this challenge. However, due to the complexity of the high-temperature superconducting vehicle system and external excitation, it is challenging to determine the optimal electromagnetic shunt damper parameters through analytical calculation. This study proposes a method for optimizing electromagnetic shunt damper parameters based on the NSGA-II multi-objective optimization algorithm. The high-temperature superconducting vehicle dynamic simulation model with electromagnetic shunt damper is established, and the dynamic simulation is carried out according to the actual operation conditions. Taking the dynamic indexes as the objectives, the optimal electromagnetic shunt damper parameters are then selected within a reasonable range based on dynamic indexes used as objectives in the NSGA-II algorithm. The effectiveness of the optimization method is verified through simulations and experiments on a levitation model vehicle with electromagnetic shunt damper under random vibration conditions. Finally, the optimized electromagnetic shunt damper parameters are applied to an engineering high-speed high-temperature superconducting pinning maglev vehicle through simulation. The calculation results demonstrate that various performance indexes are improved after optimization. The design speed of high-speed maglev trains is much higher than that of wheel-rail trains, and they will be subject to more operational safety threats under complex wind conditions. The present study uses the improved delayed detached eddy simulation method based on the shear stress transfer k–ω turbulence model to explore the effect of active flow control on the aerodynamic lateral force of a maglev train and examines the main aerodynamic performance differences caused by two active control forms (suction and blowing airflow), involving multiple active flow speeds. In the current scenario, blowing can reduce the lateral force coefficient of the head car by up to 15% while greatly increasing its transient instability, which can be attributed to direct and indirect changes in pressure distribution near the air slots and a larger range of the leeward surface. The suction is believed to suppress the downstream motion of the main vortex on the leeward side of the maglev train and weaken the turbulent kinetic energy of the wake, while the blowing effect reduces the dominance of the main vortex. The application of blowing is proved as an effective means of reducing the risk of operating a maglev train in a crosswind environment, while it requires a careful consideration of both train safety and energy efficiency. Maglev vehicles apply the entire vehicle load uniformly onto bridges through levitation forces. In assessing the dynamic characteristics of the maglev train–bridge coupling system, it is reasonable to simplify the distributed levitation force as a concentrated force. This article theoretically derives the analytical response of bridge dynamics under the action of a single constant force and conducts numerical simulations for a moving single constant force and a series of equally spaced constant forces passing over simply supported beams and two-span continuous beams, respectively. The topic of discussion is the response of bridge dynamics when different degrees of force concentration are involved. High-precision displacement and acceleration sensors were utilized to conduct tests on the Shanghai maglev line to verify the accuracy of the simulation results. The results indicate that when simplifying the distributed levitation force into a concentrated force model, a frequency ratio can be used to analyze the conditions for resonance between the train and the bridge and to calculate the critical speed of the train; the levitation distribution force of a high-speed maglev vehicle can be simplified into four groups of concentrated forces based on the number of levitation frames to achieve sufficient accuracy, with the dynamic response of the bridge being close to that under distributed loads. Magnetic fields from the linear motor, suspended electromagnet, and collector shoe arcing are the three main electromagnetic interference (EMI) sources for the medium–low-speed maglev train interior. Under their collective influence, the field intensity may exceed the standard threshold, consequently affecting the operational reliability of the train system. However, in previous studies, the EMI sources were analyzed separately, and studies regarding the influence of factors such as the motor states and the train body (TB) shielding against arcing EMI were lacking. Therefore, in this paper, all three EMI source are considered, and an EM disturbance source modeling scheme is proposed using the COMSOL software platform. Its effectiveness is demonstrated and the train interior magnetic field is analyzed, primarily with respect to prior simulations and tests. Subsequent analyses enable a comparative assessment of the individual contributions of each EMI source to the overall interference, considering the EMI control standards. The influence of other EMI source parameters, such as different motor states, is analyzed, and the potential for modifying the material composition and structural thickness of the TB is explored to determine the appropriate EMI inhibition strategy. The Lorentz force magnetic levitation gim2bal stabilized platform (LFMP), as a new generation of high-precision turntable for maglev satellites, can meet the requirements of future spacecraft for ultra-high attitude pointing accuracy and stability. To solve the problem of three-module multi-body attitude control under maneuvering conditions, the platform subsystem is first dynamically modeled based on the second type of Lagrangian equation, and the payload subsystem is dynamically modeled based on the Newton–Euler method. Secondly, a multi-loop control system is designed, consisting of high-precision and fast attitude pointing control for the payload, position tracking control for the platform subsystem, and tracking control for the maglev module. The final simulation results verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the payload-centered control method. An evaluation of the stability with a specific model has been performed, and the attitude accuracy of the payload is within 0.00002° and the attitude stability is within 0.00005°/s. A fast multi-objective optimization method (FMOOM) is proposed by optimizing control parameters to improve the dynamic performance of a high-speed maglev vehicle–bridge system. This approach involves generating the corresponding dynamic response to the sampled control parameters using a theoretical model of a high-speed maglev vehicle–bridge system, followed by establishing an adaptive surrogate model for the relationship between the control parameters and the dynamic response extrema. In the second step, we combine the adaptive surrogate model and the multi-objective gradient-based optimizer (MOGBO) algorithm to obtain the Pareto solution set satisfying different performance indexes. Additionally, the control parameters are optimized using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. In the numerical simulation, we investigate five maglev trains and ten-span simply supported beam bridges and the theoretical model is verified by comparing the calculations with the measured results. The optimization effect of FMOOM is analyzed under different working conditions. The results show that the adaptive surrogate model has good prediction accuracy based on the radial basis function. Furthermore, the Pareto solution distribution of different schemes using FMOOM is reasonable, and the optimization results are as expected. Compared with the reference scheme, the dynamic response of the maglev vehicle–bridge system is smaller after being subjected to FMOOM optimization, and the six performance indexes are dramatically improved. High-speed maglev system is a hot research topic nowadays in the field of high-speed ground transportation. Characteristics of the track irregularity of high-speed maglev system is quite different due to its contactless vehicle-rail relationship and segmented track compared with traditional railway. However, research on maglev track irregularity is still insufficient. This paper summarises, for the first time, the track inspection data collected on Shanghai Maglev Demonstration Line (Shanghai Line) since 2006, and describes the main filtering methods and parameters for acceleration and gap signals, taking into account the characteristics of maglev track. Track irregularity is then determined using the inertial measurement principle. The measured track spectrum on Shanghai Line calculated by the Welch method obeys a chi-square distribution with 2 degrees of freedom, indicating that different track qualities can be transformed by probability methods according to the research requirements. Based on the samples obtained over the past 15 years, and referring to the seven-parameter model of the railway system, a high-speed maglev track spectrum is obtained by the fitting method, parameters of which are obtained by applying the damped least squares method. To solve the shortcomings of the existing hub motors in the practical application of electric vehicles, an integrated dual-rotor hub motor (DRHM) was proposed, which can realize multiple drive modes to adapt to the vehicle's variable driving conditions. Aiming at the complex structure of the DRHM, a multi-objective optimization method of design variables stratification based on comprehensive sensitivity was proposed. The design variables with medium and high sensitivity were optimized by the response surface method and genetic algorithm, respectively. After overall weighing the optimization objectives of output torque, torque ripple, usage amount of permanent magnets and magnetic coupling coefficient, three candidate design were screened out. By the comprehensive performance evaluation of the motor, the optimal structural sizes were determined. Based on a two-dimensional model, the electromagnetic performances of the DRHM were analyzed. The simulation results show that the motor has a small cogging torque and low magnetic coupling degree, and the independent control and stable operation of the internal and external motors can be realized. Besides, the basic characteristics of the DRHM prototype were tested. The experimental results accords well with the simulation results, which show that the proposed motor structure is reasonable and the multi-objective optimization method is effective. Electric vehicles have seen substantial growth in recent years in the emerging economies of the world. The current market scenario of E-vehicles is dominated by PMSM or BLDC motors due to their higher torque-to-power density, and efficiency with added performance metrics of the motor. However, the higher capital cost of permanent magnets makes the motor designers to consider an alternative to magnetic motors, the so-called Switched Reluctance Motors (SRM). With proper FEM analysis and controller design, if SRMs can able to achieve the performance metrics of a PMSM/BLDC, it will be a breakthrough in the automotive sector with affordable prices. Based on the aforementioned facts, this research work focuses on SRM as a viable alternative to the existing PMSM/BLDC motor. The work concentrates on the design and development of an 8/6 SRM for a Tri-wheeler E-vehicle application. The designed motor is fabricated, tested and controlled by WAVECT, an FPGA-based real-time digital controller which is used to control the commutation of the 8/6 SRM. The yielded response satisfactorily proves that the designed 8/6 SRM can be effectively used for the Tri-wheeler E-vehicle application, thereby paving the way for sustainable energy conservation in the automotive sector. As new advanced vehicles, the safety and stability of electromagnetic suspension maglev trains have always been a subject of concern. This study introduces the improved R index and τ-distance index into the performance evaluation of the suspension control system, respectively assessing the stability of the suspension gap and the smoothness of train operation, combining them with grey relational analysis to achieve data-driven comprehensive evaluation. Furthermore, feasibility tests on the Fenghuang Maglev Express validate the effectiveness and superiority of the comprehensive evaluation method based on measured data. Experimental results demonstrate that the data-driven comprehensive evaluation method, through designing specialized evaluation metrics and increasing assessment dimensions, effectively evaluates the performance of the suspension system control loop. The electromagnet module, as a fundamental component providing levitation force for maglev trains, plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability of train operation. However, vibrations can easily occur due to the mechanical coupling between the two suspension points of the electromagnet module. To reveal the inherent instability of the system and the coupling relationship between the state variables, a state-space equation that considers the mechanical coupling between the two suspension points is established. Furthermore, a differential control algorithm based on geometric feature transformation is proposed to mitigate the structural coupling vibration. Simulation experiments are conducted to compare the dynamic characteristics of the system before and after implementing the improvement algorithm under complex conditions. At the same time, the influence of control parameters on electromagnetic vibration was analyzed, focusing particularly on vibrations resulting from parameter mismatch, offering crucial insights for enhancing system stability. Additionally, suspension tests are carried out on the high-speed double bogie test platform in the Key Laboratory of Hunan Province to further validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. With the purpose to study the technical scheme of the Shanghai-Hangzhou high-speed maglev track route, this paper analyzes the current research status of high-speed maglev rail transit and elaborates planning background in detail. According to the characteristics of high-speed maglev rail transit, the basic principles of high-speed maglev channel planning are proposed. Besides, the horizontal and vertical technical parameters of high-speed maglev rail transit are studied in detail based on the standard of High-speed Maglev rail transit. Combined with the main technical parameters of the horizontal and vertical sections and the distribution of the economic strongholds of the Shanghai-Hangzhou corridor, it focuses on the route scheme of Shanghai-Hangzhou High-speed Maglev passage in Jiaxing area and the local scheme where the line crosses Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Also, it conducts comprehensive analysis and comparison for the different schemes. According to the different characteristics of the schemes, combined with the factors such as project investment, project feasibility, urban planning etc., it puts forward the recommendations for the route scheme and local scheme. It reveals that the technical parameters of the horizontal and vertical sections of high-speed maglev rail transit are relatively high, which poses great impacts on the route scheme; Shanghai-Hangzhou High-speed Maglev Channel in Jiaxing area should give priority to the Jiaxing north scheme, and employ the tunnel to cross the intersection of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. To improve the torque control accuracy of an open‐winding permanent magnet synchronous motor with common DC bus, this paper studies a complex vector proportional–integral (CVPI) controller with the help of a proportional–integral (PI) controller to solve the problem of torque ripple caused by the current harmonics caused by the back electromotive force of the motor and the nonlinearity of the inverter. The controller has a higher gain at the center frequency and can realize the tracking of the alternating current (AC) quantity without static error. Therefore, it is used for the tracking control of current harmonics. According to the different characteristics of the dq0‐axis, complex j is realized by orthogonal characteristics and all‐pass filter in the dq‐axis and 0‐axis, respectively. At the same time, with the help of Ansys, Simplorer, and Matlab/Simulink tools, the co‐simulation platform for an open‐winding motor is established, and the motor parameters are optimized. The simulation and experimental results show that the control strategy based on CVPI has stronger harmonic suppression ability, smaller torque ripple, and better dynamic performance than proportional‐resonance (PR) control. Due to time‐varying external disturbances and uncertain system models, distributed cooperative controllers with poor adaptability are unable to meet the cooperative control requirements of multiple permanent magnetic maglev trains in virtual coupling mode. In this work, a new effective distributed auto disturbance rejection resilient controller based on the optimized deep deterministic policy gradient algorithm (DDPG) is proposed. The DDPG algorithm is used to improve the adaptability of the controller against the time‐varying disturbances. An adaptive particle swarm optimization method (APSO) is also proposed to optimize the hyperparameters of DDPG in the search space. The simulation results show that, compared to the particle swarm optimization (PSO)‐actor‐critic (AC), PSO‐policy gradient (PG), and PSO‐DDPG algorithms, the proposed APSO‐DDPG algorithm performs better during training and verification. The booming demand for electric vehicles, driven by the pursuit of enhanced efficiency, faces significant hurdles attributed to the costly integration of rare earth magnets like NdFeB. M-type strontium ferrite emerges as a promising alternative owing to its economic viability and exceptional magnetic characteristics, rendering it suitable for electric vehicle motor applications. This research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of SrFe 12 O 19 and Sr 1-x Pr x Fe 10 Al 2 O 19 (where x = 0.00 to 0.20) hexaferrites, with praseodymium (Pr) substitution. Magnetic particles were synthesized utilizing the sol-gel auto-combustion technique, employing a calcination temperature of 1100 °C for a duration of 4 h. Structural and magnetic studies of aluminium-praseodymium (Al–Pr) doped samples are performed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and vibrating-sample magnetometry (VSM). The structural analysis reveals a decrease in both particle size from 42 nm to 31.76 nm and lattice parameter with increasing doping concentration. Magnetic analysis yields crucial insights: Al3+ doping induces a substantial rise in coercivity from 5500 Oe to 10,500 Oe which is quite comparable to NdFeB, while Pr doping shows a subtle impact, enhancing remanence from 17 emu/g to 23.05 emu/g. These findings underscore the potential for optimizing magnetic properties through meticulous control of dopant concentrations in M-type hexaferrites, thereby positioning them as promising substitutes for rare earth magnets. To reduce the vehicle-bridge coupled vibration of a new-type maglev vehicle with mid-mounted suspension (MVMS) on a curve and increase its curve-passing speed, the forced guidance device (FGD) for MVMS is designed and the effectiveness of the FGD is proved. Firstly, on the basis of the FGD for HSST (High Speed Surface Transport) maglev vehicle and the geometric relationship between the movable sliders and the cabin as MVMS passes through a curved track, the FGD scheme for MVMS was designed. Secondly, the dynamic models with 5-bogies MVMSs (with and without FGD), control system, 11 flexible bridges, and track irregularities were established. Finally, the vehicle-bridge coupled vibration response of MVMSs on the curved track was analysed. Results show that the accelerations of the bridges, levitation modules, and cabin can be reduced significantly by installing FGD, especially at higher speeds. Compared to the accelerations without FGD, the maximum lateral and vertical accelerations of each bridge midspan can be reduced respectively by 56% and 43% at the speed of 45 km/h, those of the levitation modules can be reduced by 48% and 90%, respectively, and those of the cabin can be reduced by 37% and 53%, respectively. The safety and stability of high-speed maglev trains traveling on viaducts in crosswinds critically depend on their aerodynamic characteristics. Therefore, this paper uses an improved delayed detached eddy simulation (IDDES) method to investigate the aerodynamic features of high-speed maglev trains with different marshaling lengths under crosswinds. The effects of marshaling lengths (varying from 3-car to 8-car groups) on the train's aerodynamic performance, surface pressure, and the flow field surrounding the train were investigated using the three-dimensional unsteady compressible Navier-Stokes (N-S) equations. The results showed that the marshaling lengths had minimal influence on the aerodynamic performance of the head and middle cars. Conversely, the marshaling lengths are negatively correlated with the time-average side force coefficient (CS) and time-average lift force coefficient (Cl) of the tail car. Compared to the tail car of the 3-car groups, the CS and Cl fell by 27.77% and 18.29%, respectively, for the tail car of the 8-car groups. It is essential to pay more attention to the operational safety of the head car, as it exhibits the highest time average CS. Additionally, the mean pressure difference between the two sides of the tail car body increased with the marshaling lengths, and the side force direction on the tail car was opposite to that of the head and middle cars. Current research on noise and vibration control of high-speed maglev trains pays more attention to far-field noise, while the level of interior noise has a direct impact on the ride comfort and should be placed equal weight on. In this paper, inter-coach space, one of the main pressure fluctuation sources of a specific type of high-speed maglev train with a design speed of 600 km·h−1, is taken as the research object. The turbulent and acoustic components of wall pressure fluctuations (WPF) are separated based on a wavenumber-frequency analysis approach, and then each component is applied as different forms of source input to the vibroacoustic model, namely, finite element method-boundary element method (FEM-BEM) and statistical energy analysis (SEA) for low- and high-frequency ranges respectively, to investigate the contribution of both components to interior acoustic cavity in all frequency range. It can be seen quantitatively from the results that the amplitude of turbulent component is generally much higher than that of the acoustic one, but it can be vice versa when it comes to the interior response. A novel levitating hybrid linear actuator is proposed for magnetically levitated carrier systems. This hybrid linear actuator, "MaglevMotor", is capable to levitate itself under the passive rail and thrusts itself in a single longitudinal direction. The proposed structure aims to reduce complexity by minimising the necessary number of components, resulting in simplified geometry, improved assembly convenience, and decreased manufacturing tolerances. The MaglevMotor is optimised in multi‐physics aspect. Optimisation objectives are maximising thrust force, minimising total mass and minimising mechanical deformation of yoke with constraints of a user defined magnetic flux density (B) in yoke and zero power condition for specific air gap value. The authors present pre‐optimisation studies, optimisation results and final MaglevMotor designs step by step. By utilising three of the MaglevMotors units, the carrier is able to achieve motion in six degrees of freedom. The carrier's performance targets, including a 0.2 G acceleration, a total mass of less than 10 kg, and a 5 mm levitation air gap, have been both attained and validated through corresponding experiments. To improve the anti-interference ability of maglev trains, a dynamic model of the high-speed maglev train with a nonlinear suspension controller for the guideway system is proposed in this paper. Based on the nonlinear characteristics of the magnetic suspension system, a nonlinear decoupling controller is designed using the feedback linearization theory. Then, a high-speed maglev train model is refined with a guideway coupling system, consisting of a maglev train simulated as a multi-body dynamics model with 537 degrees of freedom and a spatial finite element model of the guideway. Taking the Shanghai high-speed maglev train as an example, the correctness of the computational model is verified by comparing the modeling results with field measurement data, and the control effectiveness of the nonlinear controllers and the traditional PD controllers is compared considering different train speeds and disturbance forces. The results show that the suspension gap under the decoupling control is smaller than that under the PD control during the train operations. Under the same disturbance force, the decoupling control exhibits better control performance than the PD control. This paper presents a novel hybrid algorithm based on CMOGWO-ADNSGA-II to solve the vibration stability problem during the operation of a EMS-type maglev train dynamics model subjected to strong non-linear magnetic buoyancy. The proposed algorithm optimizes the control system parameters of EMS-type maglev train suspensions by combining an improved multi-objective chaotic grey wolf algorithm (CMOGWO) with an improved non-dominated Sorting genetic algorithm-II (ADNSGA-II) to enhance the search capability of the algorithm and ensure population diversity. The efficacy of the algorithm is demonstrated by applying it to the EMS-type maglev train suspension frame control system to find the optimal control parameters. Experimental results show that the system with the optimal parameters applied significantly reduces the suspension gap amplitude and the corresponding standard deviation, as well as the vertical acceleration amplitude and the corresponding standard deviation during operation. A hub motor is integrated into an electric wheel. The external excitation is complex and the heat dissipation conditions are poor. The working temperature of the hub motor easily becomes too high, resulting in large fluctuations in the output torque, which affect its service life. Taking a four-wheel hub-driven electric vehicle as the research object and aiming to resolve the issue of inaccurate prediction of the output torque of the hub motor in the real operating environment of the vehicle, a method for analyzing the temperature rise and torque characteristics of the hub motor considering multisource excitation and magnetic–thermal bidirectional coupling is proposed. First, the multisource excitation transmission path of the hub motor and the coupling principle of the road-electric wheel-vehicle body suspension system are analyzed from three aspects: the electromagnetic effect of the hub motor itself, the tire-ground effect, and the interaction between suspension (body) and electric wheel. We concluded that the load torque and air gap change in the motor are the key factors of its torque characteristics. On this basis, a dynamic model of the road-electric wheel-suspension-vehicle body system, an electromagnetic field model of the hub motor, and a temperature field model are established, and the influence of load torque and air gap change on the loss of in-wheel motor under multisource excitation is analyzed. Furthermore, based on the magnetic–thermal bidirectional coupling method, the motor loss under the combined action of load torque and air gap change is introduced into the temperature field model, and combined with the electromagnetic field model of the hub motor, the temperature distribution law and torque characteristics of the hub motor are accurately predicted. Finally, the accuracy and effectiveness of the calculation results of the temperature and torque characteristics of the hub motor are verified via an electric wheel bench test. In this paper, a novel high temperature superconducting (HTS) thin film device as planar levitator and fault current limiter is firstly proposed and tested. Nowadays, planar magnetic levitation (maglev) levitator (PML) employed in planar maglev system is a promising high-precision positioning mechanism for modern high-end industrial fields, due to the attractive features of noncontact, zero friction, high precision, light weigh, simple structure, high reliability, fast response and fewer interfering factors, etc. In contrast to other maglev technologies, HTS maglev technology has the advantages of passive self stabilization levitation, light weight, high vacuum gain, simple structure, energy saving and no electromagnetic pollution, etc. Thus, the PML fabricated by HTS thin film can further simplify the system control strategy and improve operation efficiency. In this paper, we designed and fabricated the double sided YBa2Cu3O7-x thin film based PML and analyzed its levitation force characteristics. Besides, we also tested its fault current limiting performance, which can be employed to limit the fault current in the planar maglev system. It can be found from the experimental results that, the HTS-PML can offer the levitation force more than 400 kN/m3 and 100 N/kg, meanwhile, it can also generate the quench resistance more than 15 Ω to limit the fault current effectively. In this study, a novel composite control scheme for the vehicle-guideway coupling systems is proposed, consisting of FTDOs and a FTC, aiming to address the challenges of unknown disturbances and vibration suppression. Specifically, this method adopts a single magnet-track coupling model and introduces a finite-time disturbance observer (FTDO) that utilizes only measured electromagnet-side signals to estimate unmeasurable states and unknown disturbances. Based on the estimated information provided by the FTDO, a finite-time control (FTC) scheme is developed, which simultaneously handles the problems of disturbance compensation and finite-time tracking control. Additionally, the finite-time stability of the levitation system is analyzed and proven. The high-speed maglev vehicle/guideway coupled model is an essential simulation tool for investigating vehicle dynamics and mitigating coupled vibration. To improve its accuracy efficiently, this study investigated a hierarchical model updating method integrated with field measurements. First, a high-speed maglev vehicle/guideway coupled model, taking into account the real effect of guideway material properties and elastic restraint of bearings, was developed by integrating the finite element method, multi-body dynamics, and electromagnetic levitation control. Subsequently, simultaneous in-site measurements of the vehicle/guideway were conducted on a high-speed maglev test line to analyze the system response and structural modal parameters. During the hierarchical updating, an Elman neural network with the optimal Latin hypercube sampling method was used to substitute the FE guideway model, thus improving the computational efficiency. The multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm with the gray relational projection method was applied to hierarchically update the parameters of the guideway layer and magnetic force layer based on the measured modal parameters and the electromagnet vibration, respectively. Finally, the updated coupled model was compared with the field measurements, and the results demonstrated the model's accuracy in simulating the actual dynamic response, validating the effectiveness of the updating method. With the needs of environmental protection and the adjustment of energy structure, new energy vehicles are playing an increasingly important role in the field of transportation today. The permanent-magnet brushless direct-current motor has the characteristics of high efficiency, and can be used in the drive system of new energy vehicles or other auxiliary equipment. In the control process of the permanent-magnet brushless direct-current motor, based on a three-Hall position sensor, due to various factors, there are some errors in the Hall position signal, which must be corrected by appropriate measures. In this paper, the relationship between the position deviation in the commutation interval and the non-commutation-phase current is analyzed, and the current expressions in three different states are given. A new closed-loop compensation strategy for correcting the inaccurate commutation caused by the Hall signal error is proposed. Taking the position of a 30° electrical angle before and after the phase-change point as the H point, realizing the current symmetry within the 30° interval around the H point as the target and the sum of the slopes of the tangent lines at the two points symmetrical within the β (0 < β < 30) electrical angle around the H point as the deviation, a proportional-integral regulator is designed to correct the phase error of the phase-change signal. Finally, it is verified by experiments that the closed-loop compensation strategy proposed in this paper can effectively compensate the phase deviation of the commutation signal at a speed of about 2000 r/min, which improves the working efficiency of the motor to a certain extent. Magnetic nanofluids, also referred to as ferromagnetic particle levitation systems, are materials with highly responsive magnetic properties. Due to their magnetic responsiveness, excellent controllability, favorable thermal characteristics, and versatility, magnetic nanofluids have sparked considerable interest in both industrial manufacturing and scientific research. Magnetic nanofluids have been used and developed in diverse areas such as materials science, physics, chemistry and engineering due to their remarkable characteristics such as rapid magnetic reaction, elastic flow capacities, and tunable thermal and optical properties. This paper provides a full and in-depth introduction to the diverse uses of ferrofluids including material fabrication, fluid droplet manipulation, and biomedicine for the power and machinery sectors. As a result, magnetic nanofluids have shown promising applications and have provided innovative ideas for multidisciplinary research in biology, chemistry, physics and materials science. This paper also presents an overview of the device construction and the latest developments in magnetic-nanofluid-related equipment, as well as possible challenging issues and promising future scenarios. When a medium–low-speed (MLS) maglev train is braking, part of its regenerative braking (RB) power consumption may cause a significant rise in the positive rail (PR) voltage. For RB energy re-utilization, an RB energy feedback system (RBEFS) is a promising application, but there is still no specific research in the field of MLS maglev trains. From this perspective, this article focuses on identifying the PR voltage rise behavior and investigating the application of an RBEFS on the over-voltage inhibition. Some development trends of the MLS maglev train, including the DC 3 kV traction grid system and the speed being raised to 160~200 km/h, are also considered in the analyzed scenarios. At first, a modeling scheme of a detailed vehicle–grid electrical power model with the RBEFS is established. On this basis, the PR voltage rise characteristics are analyzed with consideration of three pivotal influencing factors: RB power, PR impedance and supply voltage level. Subsequently, to stabilize the PR voltage fluctuations, the influence rules of the RBEFS on the voltage rise and the mutual transient voltage influences under the operating status switching for multiple vehicles running on the same power supply section are analyzed. A novel asymmetric delta‐type and Spoke‐type interior permanent magnet synchronous machine (ASD‐IPM) is proposed for electric vehicles (EVs) application that uses the magnetic field shifting technique to maximise the average torque and lessen torque ripples. The proposed ASD‐IPM is deduced from the conventional asymmetric spoke and V‐shape IPM by attaching additional asymmetric flux barriers (AFB) to the left side of the spoke‐type PMs and to the other side of the delta‐type PMs. This configuration helps in reducing the leakage flux and achieving good flux concentration. The proposed design is optimised through a Genetic Algorithm (GA) to investigate the electromagnetic performances at no‐load and on‐load conditions. Also, the efficiency maps of both the proposed design and conventional design are analysed and compared. The results show that the proposed ASD‐AIPM has superior efficiency and a favorable torque profile, making it a suitable choice for electric vehicle applications. Furthermore, the proposed design is rescaled to the Toyota Prius 2010 design, with the only change in the slot/pole pair combination due to the presence of spoke‐PMs in the proposed design. Magnetic positioning is a promising technique for vehicles in global navigation satellite system (GNSS)-denied scenarios. In general, a fixed-length magnetic sequence is required to provide an initial positioning result, which means that users need to wait a relatively long distance. To minimize this initialization distance, a map-aided fast initialization method, including magnetic database construction and magnetic positioning, is proposed in this paper. For magnetic database construction, a multisource fused database is established using a precise and effective strategy in which the positions of reference points (RPs) and the diverse information of paths are obtained from the map and the magnetic field is calculated using data collected during driving. For magnetic positioning, we innovatively propose a coarse–fine combination method that improves the positioning accuracy within a short distance. In the coarse map matching stage, by detecting the vehicle's motion and utilizing the topological relationships between paths, the search range is precisely narrowed. In the fine magnetic localization stage, an improved mean absolute difference (MAD) metric and a derivative metric are combined to form a joint matching criterion to determine the positioning result. The experimental results illustrate the importance of each module in the proposed method, which improves the precision of the database up to 80% and significantly shortens the initialization distance up to 50%. Magnetic positioning is a promising technique for vehicles in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-denied scenarios. Traditional magnetic positioning methods resolve the position coordinates by calculating the similarity between the measured sequence and the sequence generated from the magnetic database with criteria such as the Mean Absolute Difference (MAD), PRODuct correlation (PROD), etc., which usually suffer from a high mismatch rate. To solve this problem, we propose a novel magnetic localization method for vehicles based on Transformer. In this paper, we cast the magnetic localization problem as a regression task, in which a neural network is trained by equidistant sequences to predict the current position. In addition, by adopting Transformer to perform magnetic localization of vehicles for the first time, magnetic features are extracted, and positional relationships are explored to guarantee positioning accuracy. A new type of interior combined pole permanent magnet drive motor is proposed in this paper, which aims to improve the power and comfort of electric vehicles. In view of the complex magnetic circuit structure and rich harmonic magnetic field of the motor, the initial magnetic pole parameters of the rotor are determined by the equivalent magnetic circuit method. Then, aiming at the complex magnetic circuit and rich harmonic magnetic field, a multi-objective optimization method based on the Taguchi method and response surface method is proposed to reduce the cogging torque, high harmonic content in air gap magnetic flux density and increase the output torque. Based on the finite element analysis of the electromagnetic performance of the new type interior combined magnetic pole permanent magnet drive motor before and after optimization, it can be seen that the improved rotor structure can effectively reduce the torque ripple and increase the torque density. Medium low-speed maglev trains cause coupling vibration when moving over flexible bridges, which has a detrimental effect on the overall system. To effectively improve the global performance of the train-bridge system, this study proposes a parameter optimization approach that integrates a numerical model, a neural network, and a multi-objective evolutionary algorithm. A three-car maglev train-bridge coupling system is first modeled based on finite element, multi-body dynamics, and the levitation control theory. Based on this, the dynamic response and parameter sensitivity of the system is investigated using simulation analysis and the Sobol method. To enhance the optimization efficiency, an improved neural network is employed to simulate the nonlinear relationship between key parameters and dynamic performance, thereby surrogating the numerical model. The NSGA-III algorithm with a reference point mechanism is used to search for the optimal solution of the key parameters. Finally, simulation experiments verify the validity and accuracy of the neural network and the optimization results. This approach takes into account the coupling effect between multiple parameters and significantly enhances the computational efficiency compared with traditional rail transportation optimization methods. The dynamic response of the maglev system, considering the car-body flexibility, demonstrates that the optimization approach effectively improves the safety and stability of the train and further reduces the negative effect of the car-body's elastic vibration on the operation quality. In the field of heat transfer in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) for electric vehicles, the boundary element method (BEM) has been applied for the first time to calculate the steady-state temperature of the PMSM with a spiral water-cooled system. In this investigation, the boundary-integration equation for the steady-state heat transfer problem of a water-cooled PMSM is first derived on the basis of thermodynamic theory, and the system of constant coefficient differential equations is obtained by discretizing its boundaries, while the temperature results obtained from the BEM are compared with the finite element method (FEM) results. Furthermore, the temperature distribution and heat transfer characteristics obtained from the FEM and BEM were verified twice using the PMSM prototype and test platform. The results show that the maximum relative error between the temperature calculation results of FEM and BEM is 1.97%, and the maximum relative error between the results of BEM and the test does not exceed 3%, which finally verifies the validity and accuracy of BEM in solving the heat transfer problems of water-cooled PMSM. When two different materials are brought together, a plethora of quantum phenomena and functionalities can emerge. A prominent example is the superconductivity in Ni/Bi bilayers, which arises from the artificial layered structure composed of the non-superconducting ferromagnetic and heavy metals. Although this system has been shown to exhibit unconventional superconducting properties, the underlying mechanism of the superconductivity remains elusive. Here, we provide experimental evidence of the microscopic coexistence of two-dimensional (2D) superconductivity and broken space-inversion symmetry in the Ni/Bi bilayer. The evidence is obtained from nonreciprocal transport around the superconducting transition temperature, where the resistance depends on the direction of an applied current and an external magnetic field. We find that the nonreciprocal superconducting transport is most pronounced around the Berezinskii–Kosterlitz–Thouless transition temperature. These observations support the 2D Rashba superconductivity in the Ni/Bi bilayer, which will serve as a basis for advancing the understanding of unconventional superconductivity. The propagation of the weak shock wave (WSW) to the tunnel exits and their radiation as micro-pressure waves (MPWs) may cause sonic booms or structural resonance of buildings, posing potential hazards to humans, animals, and buildings in the exit's environment. The characteristics of the WSW and sonic booms of a maglev train/tube coupling model were studied based on the two-dimensional axisymmetric unsteady Reynolds average Navier–Stokes turbulence model. In the later stage of a MPW, the formation mechanism, geometry, and kinematic characteristics of compressible vortex rings (CVRs) were systematically analyzed. The inertial effect causes the initial wavefront to gradually transition from a Gaussian-shape waveform to a triangular waveform during its propagation, eventually coalescing into a WSW. The overpressure, density jump, and shock Mach number at the WSW location all increase with the increasing train speed, while the WSW thickness decreases accordingly. The formation distance of the WSW is inversely proportional to the amplitude of the initial wavefront gradient, and the WSW directly causes the occurrence of the exit sonic boom. The MPW amplitude has significant directionality with a largest value in the axial direction. Within the speed range of 450–700 km/h, the sound pressure level of the MPW exceeds the hearing threshold and even reaches the feeling threshold. The evolution of CVRs includes primary CVR, secondary CVR, and Kelvin–Helmholtz vortices. Primary CVR has the greatest impact on the axial MPW among them. The test speed of high-speed maglev trains (HSMT) exceeds 600 km/h, requiring higher braking performance and technology. Plate braking technology, which is a suitable choice, has been applied for engineering the high-speed test vehicles. However, the unsteady aerodynamic response during the opening process of HSMT under crosswind needs to be studied. This study explores the unsteady aerodynamic characteristics of a HSMT with a train speed of 600 km/h during plate braking at different crosswind speeds. The plate motion is achieved based on the dynamic grid technology, and the unsteady flow field around the train is simulated using the unsteady Reynolds time averaged equation and the shear stress transport k-omega (SST k–ω) turbulence model. This calculation method was verified using wind tunnel test data. The peak aerodynamic drag (AD) of the braking plates overshot during opening. Under a crosswind of 20 m/s, the AD peak of the first braking plate was 11% larger than that without crosswind. The middle braking plates were significantly affected by upstream vortex shedding, and the AD fluctuation was the most severe. The AD of the head and tail coaches is significantly affected by crosswind. With an increase in the crosswind speed, the AD of the head and tail coaches decreased and increased, respectively. Compared with no crosswind, under a crosswind of 20 m/s, the AD of the head coach decreased by 43%, and the AD of the tail coach increased by a factor of approximately 1.1 times. In recent years, medium- and low-speed maglev trains have been put into use in China. It was discovered during testing that the electric shoegear and conductor rail system generate significant vibration and noise when the electric shoegear passes through expansion and intermediate joints. By analyzing the sound pressure level (SPL) of the noise signal, it was found that the A-weighted SPL of the noise was between 77.83 dBA and 91.80 dBA, when the maglev trains were running normally, which reached the level of annoyance. Based on the theory of self-excited frictional vibrations, the finite element models of an electric shoegear and conductor rail system (shoe–rail system) were established. The main frequency of the vibration signal calculated by the transient dynamic analysis method was 1510.05 Hz. The self-excited frictional vibrations of the system were further studied using the complex eigenvalue analysis (CEA), and the causes of the noise are analyzed. The results show that the system has unstable vibration when the friction coefficient was greater than or equal to 0.21. The parameter sensitivity analysis showed that the slip shoe material of the electric shoegear, vertical damping of the suspension device, and tuned mass damper (TMD) structure have an important influence on the generation of vibration and noise of the system. With the global trend of carbon reduction, high-speed maglevs are going to use a large percentage of the electricity generated from renewable energy. However, the fluctuating characteristics of renewable energy can cause voltage disturbance in the traction power system, but high-speed maglevs have high requirements for power quality. This paper presents a novel scheme of a high-speed maglev power system using superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) and distributed renewable energy. It aims to solve the voltage sag caused by renewable energy and achieve smooth power interaction between the traction power system and maglevs. The working principle of the SMES power compensation system for topology and the control strategy were analyzed. A maglev train traction power supply model was established, and the results show that SMES effectively alleviated voltage sag, responded rapidly to the power demand during maglev acceleration and braking, and maintained voltage stability. In our case study of a 10 MW high-speed maglev traction power system, the SMES system could output/absorb power to compensate for sudden changes within 10 ms, stabilizing the DC bus voltage with fluctuations of less than 0.8%. In the present work, to realize the stable static suspension of a new type of electrodynamic wheel (EDW) magnetic levitation (maglev) car without track constraints on the conductor plate. Design and analysis of the active disturbance rejection control and explicit complementary filter (ADRC-ECF) have been presented to solve the maglev car's yaw angle disturbance rejection under low lateral damping characteristics. Simple and efficient ECF helps to filter the high and low frequency noise generated by EDWs when rotating at high speed, to obtain accurate data in real-time. Design and build the hardware control system for maglev car, and conduct experimental comparisons with PID controller to verify the effectiveness of suppressing yaw angle disturbances. Based on simulation and experimental results, it is shown that both PID and ADRC-ECF can improve the stable yaw angle convergence of maglev car under external disturbances. However, ADRC performs better in resisting disturbances than PID and can achieve more accurate fixed angle steering. This paper is the first attempt to control maglev car on a trackless conductor plate for precise steering and anti-disturbance, which is anticipated to have some reference significance in this field. Distributed-drive vehicles utilize independent drive motors on the four-wheel hubs. The working conditions of the wheel-hub motors are so harsh that the motors are prone to failing under different driving conditions. This study addresses the impact of drive motor faults on vehicle performance, particularly on slippery roads where sudden faults can lead to accidents. A fault-tolerant control system integrating motor fault diagnosis and a direct yaw moment control (DYC) based fault-tolerant controller are proposed to ensure the stability of the vehicle during various motor faults. Due to the difficulty of identifying the parameters of the popular permanent magnet synchronous wheel hub motors (PMSMs), the system employs a model-free backpropagation neural network (BPNN)-based fault detector. Turn-to-turn short circuits, open-phase faults, and diamagnetic faults are considered in this research. The fault detector is trained offline and utilizes rotor speed and phase currents for online fault detection. The system assigns the torque outputs from both healthy and faulted motors based on fault categories using sliding mode control (SMC)-based DYC. Simulations with four-wheel electric vehicle models demonstrate the accuracy of the fault detector and the effectiveness of the fault-tolerant controller. Magnetic levitation control technology plays a significant role in maglev trains. Designing a controller for the levitation system is challenging due to the strong nonlinearity, open-loop instability, and the need for fast response and security. In this paper, we propose a Disturbance-Observe-based Tube Model Predictive Levitation Control (DO-TMPLC) scheme combined with a feedback linearization strategy for the levitation system. The proposed strategy incorporates state constraints and control input constraints, i.e., the air gap, the vertical velocity, and the current applied to the coil. A feedback linearization strategy is used to cancel the nonlinearity of the tracking error system. Then, a disturbance observer is implemented to actively compensate for disturbances while a TMPLC controller is employed to alleviate the remaining disturbances. Furthermore, we analyze the recursive feasibility and input-to-state stability of the closed-loop system. The simulation results indicate the efficacy of the proposed control strategy.
