NAVIGATE serves as a timely invitation for our colleagues to reflect on the distances traversed and to envision the new horizons that lie ahead. This paper addresses the optimization of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) working time through the strategic positioning and grouping of cutting tools. Our analysis primarily focused on evaluating the previous arrangement of tools in the magazine and exploring the potential for repositioning them to enhance CNC operational efficiency. The work methodology is based on the collection of direct data from CNC as well as through CAD/CAM simulations. The collected data are analyzed with the Python programming language, which is one of the most used and efficient languages now. By grouping the tools according to the same function, tools were repositioned next to each other, which we obtained. After collecting the data and processing them in the Python programming language, we made a visualization of the data. Working time is reduced from 27.44 s to 26.46 s and results are analyzed in the Python Programming language. The working time is reduced by 0.98 s, which is approximately a 3.57% reduction in the working time. This indicates a significant improvement in efficiency due to the optimization of the cutting tool positions in the magazine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AbstractThis project responds to calls by scholars to interrogate how gender was depicted on the early commercial internet. More broadly, it examines how the idea of “users” was and is constructed in different times and places. Specifically, it examines images—advertisements, photos, and other illustrations—and how they depicted gender norms and user behaviors on the internet—in their “idealized” forms. Our study looks at how magazines, such as Internet World and Yahoo! Internet Life shaped internet culture from the beginning. They differed from webzines in their crossover appeal to women, men, power users, and casual fans. We utilize a close reading of these primary sources and deploy a feminist historical approach to help understand how these images were constructed and received. The article is included in the range of works devoted to the study of genre characteristics of texts and genre forms. The relevance of the study is determined by the specific nature of speech genres and their variability. The purpose of the work is to research the magazine “Tram” as a speech genre and its genre forms. The material for the study was the journal issues published between 1990 and 1995. The article tries to consider the relationship between the concepts of “genre” and “genre form”. The authors adhere to the point of view that a “genre form” is a genre that is part of the structure of another, more complex genre. One of the genre characteristics of the magazine “Tram” and its constituent genre forms is creolization/polycode, a combination of verbal and paraverbal components. On the one hand, the interaction of these elements turns out to be a feature of all magazines for children and teenagers. On the other hand, drawings, sometimes their predominance over the verbal text, their location on the page, color, variety of fonts distinguish the analyzed magazine from others. The magazine “Tram” distinguishes genre forms, which are divided into two groups – traditional and new ones. The analysis shows that traditional genre forms are stories, comics, riddles, fairy tales (folk, author’s, fantasy ones), works of young readers, instructions; new genre forms include a conversation with the reader, the genre of limericks, words-epigraphs, fairy tales, messages about Orthodox holidays, cooking recipes (“gastronomic pages”). The authors of the article considers “traditionality” to be conditional, because while maintaining the genre form, the content of the texts presented in the magazine differs from the texts of the same genre forms from other children’s magazines: the basis of the riddle is not comparison or metaphor and epithet, but irony; the stories are constructed as a dialogue that continues from issue to issue, or they are preceded by comments from the compilers regarding the author or the content of the work; there appear intertextual tales, in the creation of which readers take part.

En Chile, la década del Centenario de la República presentó una preocupación por la corporalidad y su perfeccionamiento. El bienestar nacional se vio representado en los cuerpos, que podían mejorar por medio del ejercicio físico. En este ámbito, el rol de la mujer fue fundamental. Para ellas se estableció el ejercicio físico desde tres perspectivas: la “mujer madre”, en su relación al trabajo doméstico y la maternidad; la “mujer moderna”, que se hace parte de actividades masculinizadas en el espacio público, como el deporte; y la “mujer bella” preocupada del “mejoramiento” de su aspecto, desde una noción moderna de la belleza. Uno de los vehículos de difusión de estas ideas fue por medio del género magazine, en revistas orientadas a un público femenino, como Familia, que presentó múltiples discursos en torno al ideal corporal de la mujer. El trabajo analiza los discursos sobre el ejercicio físico que debe, o no, hacer el cuerpo femenino, expresado en artículos e imágenes de la revista Familia entre 1910 y 1915. Para ello, se discute tanto el contenido visual, fotografías e ilustraciones, como el material escrito, artículos y titulares.

This article focuses on Elpis Kesaratsian (1830–1913), the first Armenian female editor who founded and published the Guitar magazine (1861–63) but has been neglected in the field of Armenian history and culture studies for more than 160 years. This study sheds light on the geopolitical and historical contexts in Constantinople in the second half of the nineteenth century, the imperial censorship, the criticism regarding the magazine Guitar, the unbreakable will that the first Armenian female editor, who also acted as a writer, journalist, and translator, Elpis Kesaratsian was guided by throughout her life as a representative of a Christian national minority living in the nineteenth century Ottoman Empire. The many roles of Elpis Kesaratsian, including those of woman-editor, woman-publicist, woman-publisher, woman-book author, woman-translator, woman-lead nurse, woman-teacher that she fulfilled under the oppression and censorship of the Ottoman Empire, were revealed through investigative, biographical and comparative analyses. Both society and human beings are evolving at exponential speeds. Health and medicine are following the same path. Digital technology and data are turning our world upside down. Information is becoming ephemeral, shared, sometimes inaccurate, incorrect and fragmented, and knowledge is shifting, evolving and sometimes uncertain. However, medical journals are still a vital channel for the transmission, validation and discussion of medical knowledge. They are an essential pillar of the medical community, contributing to the continuous improvement of healthcare and scientific progress in the medical field. Medical journals are both drivers and vehicles for medical innovation. They must, however, evolve and adapt to changes in society, and reinvent themselves in the light of medical issues, those of healthcare professionals and patients, and even new medical trends and themes such as data, artificial intelligence, sustainable development, transhumanism and unique health. İktisadi yapıdaki değişimlerle bütünleşen teknoloji, iletişimi değiştirmekte ve geliştirmektedir. Anne ve babaların çocuklarının ilgi alanlarına yönelik içerikler üreterek sosyal medyanın bir parçası haline geldikleri gözlemlenmektedir. YouTube çocuk kanallarını yöneten ebeveynlerin sosyo-kültürel yaşamlarının da bu çerçevede şekillendiği söylenebilir. Bu çalışma, YouTube çocuk kanallarında, anne ve baba rollerinin eğlence ve tüketim olgularının etkisiyle beraber nasıl birer magazinsel eyleme dönüştüğünü ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada yeni medya ile ilgili metinler arası okuma yapılarak, magazinleşme ve eğlence kültürü ile yeni medya ilişkisini çözümlemek amacıyla literatür taraması yapılmıştır. İkinci aşamada kotalı örneklem alma tekniği ile seçilmiş olan YouTube çocuk kanallarındaki içerikler (Like Nastya TR, Aslıyarence ve Korayzeynep) önce nicel, ardından nitel içerik analizine (göstergebilim) tabi tutulmuştur. Videolar, IBM SPSS 22 programı kullanılarak tablolaştırılmıştır. Ardından seçilen videolar nitel içerik analizi (göstergebilim) yöntemi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmanın üçüncü aşamasında ise 13 yaş altında çocuğu bulunan 15 ebeveyn ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiş ve bu görüşmeler betimsel analiz tekniği ile analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda YouTube çocuk kanalları kullanıcısı ebeveynlerin eğlence ve tüketim odaklı magazinsel eylemde bulundukları gözlemlenmiştir. Ebeveynlerle gerçekleşen görüşmelerden oluşan izlenim sonrası ise izleyici konumunda bulunan çocuklarının olumsuz etkilendiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The article presents an analysis of the artistic and graphic design of the only satirical and caricature magazine of printing and bookbinding workers «Balda» published in Russia. As result of the all the published issues, the reader’s address of the magazine was identified, as well as its technical characteristics were determined. After studying all three issues of the magazine, it was revealed how much textual information was printed, how much textual information was accompanied by drawings and how many percent of the magazine contained drawings as independent material. The features of graphic and compositional techniques used in the design of the magazine are analyzed. The article identifies the main features of the title complex “Baldy”, describes the fonts used. Fonts definitely have which group they belong to, font size, font type, density, saturation. The graphic and decorative elements used in the design of the magazine are described, with the help of which its original and memorable style is formed. Only three issues of «Balda» magazine were published: on January 1, 1907 – No. 1, on January 9, 1907 – No. 2, on January 16, 1907 – No. 3. Some of the magazine’s circulations were confiscated. Despite the fact, that the arrest of the magazine was later lifted, the editorial board decided to close the magazine «Balda» by starting to publish the satirical, humorous and caricature magazine of the workers of the printing and bookbinding business «Topor». There were two numbers that were confiscated later too. The purpose of the study is to identify trends in the artistic and graphic concept of specialized magazines in order to develop quality criteria for relevant publications. The method and methodology of the work: the basis of the research is the principle of a systematic approach, as well as matrix, analytical, thematic and typographic methods. The practical significance of this work lies in the possibility of using the data obtained when creating new journals, as well as for adapting existing ones to modern requirements. In pre-revolutionary Russia, many specialized magazines were published intended for workers in the printing industry and bookbinding but only «Balda» and «Topor» magazines remain the only humorous, satirical and caricature magazines, which makes them a unique source of both historical, cultural and artistic information.

In this short piece, I want to reflect on the status, relevance and future of the academic journal. They emerged at a point when middle class European men were beginning to produce a cumulative body of knowledge using paper technologies, editorial boards and professional associations to legitimate their discoveries. Three hundred years later, the global university system, the financial interests of global knowledge corporations, and the occupational interests of university workers has supported a huge explosion of journals as markers of status, providers of data about who writes and who cites, and profitable ways of extracting value from university library budgets. This journal, though it has published much which is critical about such a system, is entirely parasitic on this set of financial and occupational interests. As Organization enters its fourth decade, might it be possible to be clearer concerning what services it provides and for who? If we think of it, as my mother-in-law once presciently suggested, as a magazine, can we be more explicit about what stories and features we are selling, and who our readers are? In the last periods of the Ottoman Empire, innovations were made in the fields of education and human rights, especially in the military field. In this period, Islamist journals were published along with economic, industrial and literary journals. Among these journals, Sırât-ı müstakîm/Sebîlü'r-reşâd was one of the most influential publications because it prioritized and defended religious principles in social life. The magazine not only kept its finger on the pulse of the society with the articles it published, but also tried to reshape the society on the axis of religious values. The fact that it included prominent writers of the period such as Mehmet Akif, Mehmed Kâmil Miras, Eşref Edip, Abdülaziz Çâvîş Babanzâde Ahmed Naim, among others, ensured its adoption by the public. Sırât-ı müstakîm/Sebîlü'r-reşâd revealed the founding philosophy of the magazine by announcing that it would try to revive the Qur'anic exegesis and the sciences of the Qur'an. The journal did not only publish in the religious field, but also included articles in fields such as philosophy, literature and law. According to the letters received and published in the journal, it was followed by a wide readership both at home and abroad. The articles in the journal were written seriously by experts in their fields in accordance with the scholarly notion of the period. The articles on the history of the Qur'an and Qiraat were written with the same seriousness. The history of the Qur'an has an important position among the studies aimed at fully understanding the will of Allah and the sciences created in this direction. The subjects of Qur'anic History are analyzed under three main headings. The first is the revelation of the Qur'an to the Prophet from the beginning to the end of revelation. In this section, the nature of revelation, prophethood and its necessity are discussed. Secondly, it examines how the Qur'an was revealed, whether it was revealed in its entirety or gradually, and the protection of revelation. The third part deals with the stages of the Qur'an in the process of hıfz, kitâbet, tedvin and reproduction, when and by whom this process was initiated, who played an active role in this process and the issue of 7 letters. In addition, issues related to qiraat are the subject of research in this section. The journals Sırât-ı müstakîm and Sebîlü'r-reşâd were not indifferent to the issues related to the history of the Qur'an during the period in which they were published, and although not in a systematic way, they touched upon the aforementioned issues. In this context, in addition to the basic issues such as the revelation of the Qur'an, the process of textualization, the jama'i, the scribe of revelation, the official Mushaf, and the issue of 7 letters, the journal also examined qiraat, ways of learning qiraat, and types of qiraat. As far as we have been able to determine, topics related to the history of the Qur'an were covered in 17 different volumes and 32 issues. Information on our subject was sometimes written in articles on tafsir, as in the writings of Abdülaziz Çavîş, and sometimes in stand-alone articles, as in the writings of Khojazâde Ahmed Hilmi. When we examine the articles in the journal, it is noticeable that the authors abide by scholarly discipline while researching and analyzing the subjects. This is confirmed by the fact that there are no errors in some of the places we checked for accuracy. In the researches on the exegesis of the Qur'an in the journal, the issues related to the history of the Qur'an and Qiraat were mentioned only by name and the contents of the issues were not mentioned. In this study, the issues related to the history of the Qur'an and Qiraat, which were included not only in the articles on tafsir but also in articles on other subjects, were brought together again under the appropriate title. The issues that were scattered in the journal were handled one by one and organized by taking into account the opinions of the authors. The spread of the Internet has radically affected the world of media. As the main source of information in the 21st century, it inevitably became the new home of the media. This transition was not just a copy-paste of existing content: instead, the media had to change their content during this transformation. This analysis will identify these changes and observe what is being offered to audiences by online magazines. It will explore how the content of online magazines differs from what was offered to an audience in the 20th century. The object of analysis is the Kosovarja magazine, which has been published since 1971. This magazine is now only available online and the package of the Python programming language was used to extract the data necessary for this activity. In addition, the magazine Hylli i Dritës is used as a case study to explore the reasons why some magazines have not managed to be reproduced in the online market. In order to understand the audience’s perception of these changes, a public opinion survey of 1,051 respondents was conducted for this study.

In the modern world with an ever-increasing interest in the development of artistic culture, many new works of literature and art appear. In this context the study of the history of certain aspects of the Dagestan culture (literature and art, etc.) is relevant today and its studying should be carried out in close connection with the development of the Dagestan multinational culture as a whole. In this regard, the problem of women’s literature and the «female image» in literature is also relevant.The article considers some aspects of women’s literary creativity, the place of female literature and an «image of a woman» in Dagestan literature in 1950s, and gender difference in covering female issues. For this purpose, special monographic studies and media materials have been used.In conclusion, the image of a positive hero has been noted as one of the main themes in Dagestan literature in the post-war period and 1950s. The issue of the Great Patriotic War was too close and heavy; it was also reflected in the works of women poets. Dagestan poets and writers paid special attention to highlighting the heavy fate of mountain women who actively fought for their free future and the desire to actively participate in the social, political and cultural life of the Republic.

Knowledge of the contributing factors of infertility is essential to optimizing the reproductive health of the population. Magazines are a major source of informational health messages; this study quantitatively and inductively examined the information in Japanese fertility-related magazine articles on modifiable lifestyle and risk factors associated with fertility. We conducted a content analysis in two major fertility-related magazines published between 2014 and 2020 that individuals attempting to conceive were likely to read. We also identified evidence-based lifestyle factors associated with reduced fertility after reviewing the scientific literature. In total, 76 lifestyle factors were mentioned in the magazine articles. A total of 9 of these 10 evidence-based lifestyle risk factors were among the 20 factors most frequently mentioned. Thus, the evidence-based lifestyle factors were well-discussed, but the articles focused heavily on nutritional factors. Health check-ups were not covered as extensively as nutrition and diet, although physical examination can uncover physiological causes of infertility. Some lifestyle factors in the articles had not been sufficiently scientifically examined. Too many recommendations were given in the magazine articles. This may induce a feeling of being overwhelmed in readers. The publishers of magazines should provide balanced information, consider prioritizing lifestyle factors by conclusive scientific evidence, and disseminate accurate information.

This article constitutes a first attempt to approach the history of the establishment and activity of the Association of Teachers from the county and municipality of Bălți between the two world wars, through the prism of the periodical publications that it initiated, edited and promoted in those years – Association Bulletin and Magazine. Aspects regarding the history of the Association in the interwar period and its main concerns are dealt with: improving the material base of education within the county, modernizing the teaching process, defending and promoting the demands and professional rights of the teaching staff, the activity of the Teachers’ Bank from Bălți County, the organization of circles and cultural homes etc. The activity of the Association of Teachers from the city and county of Bălți between the two world wars fully confirms the truth expressed even in those years, that the fair and land of Bălți was not only an important economic and commercial center of Bessarabia, but also a strong cultural center.

Magazines have been doing the work of bringing the happenings in the society to the people. In the Tamil Magazine World one of the oldest magazines is “Matar Marumanam”. It is known that “Matar Marumanam” Magazine has exposed the injustices happening in Tamil society, especially the injustices happening to widows who have lost their husbands from the past to the present times it hoisted its articles. The magazine is radical and fought for the liberation of the suppressed women in patriarchal domination and hegemony. This article is based on a feminist critique of oppression employed on exposed women in “Mathar Marumanam” magazine. Through this article, we can know that women who have lost their husbands have been denied remarriage, young girls who have not reached puberty are married to older men and they reach the stage of widowhood in their childhood. Through this article, we can learn that if young widowed women fall in love with another man or if they want to remarry the man they loved, the patriarchal society not only prohibits it but also kills or to make them to commit suicide.

This article asks a relatively naïve question: how can we build a coherent corpus of video game critics to analyze their formal components? We first present some journalistic texts related to Super Castlevania IV (in printed specialized press and websites). The variety of texts we encountered on this game showcases the identification problem relative to video game criticism. To help us circumscribe video game criticism (in regard to the other journalistic texts), we did a review of academic texts. More specifically, we selected articles and books that study video game reviews, tests, or critics. After this review, we suggest a model which could help us define the frontiers of critics.

Facilitated by technological advances in cameras, printing methods and equipment, photojournalism blossomed throughout the world during the interwar period. It offered readers insights into the contemporary world, providing access to diverse peoples and remote locations through a combination of photographs and text. Japan was no exception. However, unlike Europe or North America, where the primary medium for disseminating knowledge through images was photo magazines or newspapers, in interwar Japan it was mass-market women’s magazines that popularised the practice of using images to convey information within society. This paper specifically examines representations seen in a particular photo-article genre known as the “life pictorial”, published in the best-selling women’s magazine Shufu no tomo (“Housewife’s Friend”). The analysis of these articles demonstrates how they contributed to the circulation of an imagined geography in 1930s Japanese society by presenting an image of a utopian multicultural Japanese empire that covertly intimated a distinct social, ethnic and racial hierarchy. Furthermore, this analysis explores how the magazine guided and shaped its readers’ visual literacy by training them in how to “read” these photo articles, in a time before state censorship became fully entrenched.

"Māh-e-Nau" is a National Magazine and is the voice of entire Pakistan. Relating to every aspect, the national head is a mirror of summer and represents the national life. "Māh-e-Nau" continued to publish articles on Islamic and local saints of religion, literature and poets and it was recognized in literary circles that the best translations of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai were presented in Mah-e- Nau. "Māh-e-Nau" has an important role in introducing this aristocracy poet. In the same way, Māh-e-Nau has the honor of presenting the translation of Waris Shah’s Marakat-ul-Arat work Heer Ranjha in same genre and in the same sea. "Māh-e-Nau" took the lead in getting it done. Apart from this, the best translations of regional songs were presented. He is also credited with introducing folk stories and song. Māh-e-Nau has always gone hand in hand with the national life. It reflects all these situations, events, and actions. In the regard, the special number of "Māh-e-Nau" were published on different topics including "Seerat Number". Benjamin Martin was an itinerant lecturer, instrument maker, and the author of a substantial number of textbooks mainly in the sciences. His biggest project, however, was The General Magazine of Arts and Sciences (1755–64), dedicated to the dissemination of knowledge to a broad audience. Rather than study Martin's works with regard to the history of science, this article examines his publications in terms of their highly self‐conscious engagement with form and format. While his textbooks are concerned with economic compression, his periodical General Magazine experiments with a special, unwieldy mode of seriality that brings to the fore the role of format as well as the precarious status of seriality for the purposes of knowledge dissemination. Knowledge of the contributing factors of infertility is essential to optimizing the reproductive health of the population. Magazines are a major source of informational health messages; this study quantitatively and inductively examined the information in Japanese fertility-related magazine articles on modifiable lifestyle and risk factors associated with fertility. We conducted a content analysis in two major fertility-related magazines published between 2014 and 2020 that individuals attempting to conceive were likely to read. We also identified evidence-based lifestyle factors associated with reduced fertility after reviewing the scientific literature. In total, 76 lifestyle factors were mentioned in the magazine articles. A total of 9 of these 10 evidence-based lifestyle risk factors were among the 20 factors most frequently mentioned. Thus, the evidence-based lifestyle factors were well-discussed, but the articles focused heavily on nutritional factors. Health check-ups were not covered as extensively as nutrition and diet, although physical examination can uncover physiological causes of infertility. Some lifestyle factors in the articles had not been sufficiently scientifically examined. Too many recommendations were given in the magazine articles. This may induce a feeling of being overwhelmed in readers. The publishers of magazines should provide balanced information, consider prioritizing lifestyle factors by conclusive scientific evidence, and disseminate accurate information. The subject of the analyses in this article are food related articles addressed to men, published in the monthly "Men's Health" in 2020. In order to encourage the readers to read texts related to broadly understood nutrition, the editors use the persuasive potential resulting from the combination of various functional styles. Colloquial, natural and casual style, which is typical of everyday communication, makes it easier to get closer to the readers, creates the impression of a close and friendly relationship and enters into a dialogue with them, while the scientific style promotes the credibility of the message and gives it a professional character. The way of providing metaphors, which is unusual for food related texts (war metaphor, automotive metaphor), as well as anthropomorphisms translate into the imagery character of the text and serve to familiarize the readers with a sphere of reality that is unknown to them. The Regional Archives in Nova Gorica has among the fonds in the fields of science and culture, recreation, and information the fonds Primorska srečanja, a magazine for social sciences and culture, which contains the materials of the secretariat and editorial office of the magazine Primorska srečanja and its predecessors: Goriška srečanja (1966), Srečanja (1969), and Primorska srečanja (1977). The article presents the fond's history and its professional management, while with the help of preserved documents, the path of the magazine from its beginnings to its arrival under the auspices of the Cultural Society Primorska srečanja is shown. This paper explores the scholarship and intellectual contribution of the second series of World Order magazine, which published from 1966 until 2008 over 38 volumes. In so doing, I provide a narrative overview of the main themes and papers in World Order, and by extension some of the topics being discussed in the worldwide Bahā'ī community. This is complemented by interviews with past World Order editors, who provided information on papers, topics and issues that generated the most interest and print runs, a listing of the number of pieces and articles by topic, and a questionnaire survey of those attending an academic Bahā'ī conference. I compare themes identified in the overview with contemporary discourses over a similar period drawing on surveys of textbook and journal contents in similar areas. In addition, I summarise available information on the most cited (from Google Scholar) and downloaded (from Bahā'ī Library online) World Order papers, and hence those contributions with the most impact using these quantitative approaches. I show that Abizadeh's paper on 'Ethnicity, Race, and a Possible Humanity', which discusses how the concept of the oneness of humanity can potentially address racial problems, is the most cited paper, and Stokes's paper on 'The Story of Joseph in Five Religious Traditions', a piece on comparative religion, is the most downloaded. Overall, the most cited and downloaded papers are indicative of the breadth of topics covered in World Order, with pieces on political philosophy, law, education, history, theology, and psychology. The number of articles and editorials on social issues, such as racial justice, women's rights, and environmentalism, is one indication that the Bahā'ī community was at the forefront of thinking about social action. In India, as in other parts of the world, readers' exposure to the world and to world literatures largely took place through the pages of magazines, via translations, reviews, snippets of information, survey articles, and so on. The 1950s to 1970s were the golden age of magazine publishing in Hindi. Several Hindi magazines devoted to the short story not only showcased new literary talent but also invested much effort in translating writings from foreign literatures and from other Indian languages. Competing Cold War efforts to promote literatures from their rival spheres of influence produced a profusion of literary translations in magazine and book form, on which enterprising Hindi editors freely drew. This essay focuses on the spectacular special issues curated by Kamleshwar for two Hindi story magazines to explore the nexus between the short story, the magazine, and the world. This essay explores the intertwined trajectories of a cluster of Argentine magazines, leftist and avant-garde: Proa , Martín Fierro , Insurrexit , and Revista de Oriente which, in their own peculiar ways, rocked and transformed the Buenos Aires cultural scene. It charts the magazines' fleeting – though momentous – life-spans and existences at a time of revolution, when small collectives of writers and students spread radical and reformist ideas, formal experimentation, and a vernacular revival. While the nagging question of national identity underpinned the magazines' literary aesthetics, the essay shows that, from the start, those at the editorial helm increasingly steered them towards the wider waters of world literature. Inasmuch as they realised that the conundrum of how to invent a modern Argentine literature could only be resolved dialectically, facing both inwards and outwards, nationally and transnationally, through the relationship between Argentina, Latin America, and the world at large. Secondary school magazines have long been part ofthe educational process ateducational institutions. The present study examines the status ofsecondary school magazines within the contexts ofgrammar and vocational secondary schools inSlovakia. Itobtains relevant results using a semantic differential method addressed tothe editors-i n- c hief ofindividual school magazines. There are 16 magazines intotal. The object ofthe study is to find out the degree ofautonomy given tothe editors- i n- c hief, the organizational and managerial processes ofrunning the journal, and the means ofcreating continuity for these activities within the environment ofsecondary vocational schools and grammar schools. After obtaining the answers from the scaled test, we arrive atthe results through statistical operations and acalculated index that describes the status ofeach selected aspect. The factors weexamine are animportant part ofthe editorial office functioning. Toavoid problems, school journal programs attempt toensure continuity and to train future students inthis work. Wesee the degree ofautonomy and the intervention of the educator in the production as an essential part of the concept of learning- b y-doing. Atthe same time, this balance ofautonomy and intervention provides smoother organization, management, and continuity, specifically asaneducational activity inthe field ofmedia education.

Satō Haruo's "Okāsan" ("Mother") is a story that was published in Josei (Woman) magazine in October 1926. The plot follows "I" as he listens to the words of the parrot he bought from the pet store and deduces and fantasizes freely about her previous home. In this paper, I spotlight the fact that the home that "I" envisions through the voice of the parrot, Laura, corresponds to the family image that was being presented concurrently in Josei magazine and showcased that the ideal family was simply nothing more than an ideal. In relativizing Josei's familial discourse, and in this relationship between the published magazine and the story, I argue for the latter's importance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article reviews the history, context, topics, and texts of Larvaria magazine (2018-2019), which in the course of one year only published poems whose theme was not love. Seven announcements and six issues were published with great acceptance from unusual audiences for literary magazines, such as high school students and prisoners. Most of the poems were written by young people under 30 years old. Part of the key to its success is seated in the opening of a social media webpage that accompanied the creation, growth and closure of the magazine; beside this, by means of images and publications, questions were raised over orthodox and outdated definitions of what is poetry and what does it mean to be a poet. Larvaria gained the support of a net of independent magazines which allowed its distribution, promotion, dissemination and sale throughout Mexico and other countries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The theme of the article is a commemoration of the establishment of the first women's pictorial magazine, which started publishing in Slovakia on February 20, 1948. The magazine Slovenka was a mutation of the Czech journal Venkovská žena and was published biweekly on sixteen pages. Its content aimed at promoting the communist regime after the Victorious February, as well as educating rural women and gradually integrating them into the working-class environment, especially in the 1950s. The article also explores the relationship between the Association Živena and the Slovak Women’s Union, into which the traditional association was forcibly incorporated, and within which Slovenka was published. The text also focuses on the period after 1990 when the magazine became a promoter of the ruling movement even under democratic conditions.
