We are at a crossroads in our history as physicians: between past and future, between technology and anthropology what will prevail in defining the functions of treatment? DIGITAL libraries , *PHYSICIANS , *SOCIAL media , *MUNICIPAL ordinances , *SOCIAL networks , *ADVERTISING - Abstract
The use of imagem strategies in medical socieal networks is increasingly widespread, meeting the ethical limit established by the CEM. Knowing this, the present study sought to understand the problem of patient exposure in medical social networks. For this, a literature review was carried out from the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), Pubmed, UpToDate, LILACS databases, articles in English, Spanish and Portuguese published from 2018 onwards were included. Thus, a tendency was noticed in some cities to create laws to regulate this exposure, given that the use of images has become routine in medical advertising, as a way to demonstrate results. However, this practice is greatly accompanied by ethical failures as recommended by the CFM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

INTERNAL medicine , *PHYSICIANS - Abstract
This study investigates the relationship between the second and fourth finger ratio (2D:4D), physicians' propensity to choose an internal or surgical branch, and sex differences. On a voluntary basis, 177 physicians working in Elazig, 122 men and 55 women were enrolled in the study. Their hands were measured for 2D and 4D lengths, and the 2D:4D ratio was computed. In female doctors, the left hand's 2D:4D ratio is 1.01, compared to the right hand's 1.00. Male doctors' right 2D:4D ratio is 0.99, while their left 2D:4D ratio is 1.00. Male physicians' 2D:4D ratios were different from those of men in the general population, whereas female physicians' 2D:4D ratios were comparable to those of women in the general population. As a result, this study was the first to examine the relationship between the ratio of the second and fourth fingers (2D:4D), physicians' tendency to choose an internal medicine or surgical branch, and sex differences. While the 2D:4D ratio was higher than 0.98 in all physicians, it was low in women who disliked their profession and branch. Since there aren't many studies on this subject, data from in-depth studies that will be conducted in the future will help physicians who choose internal medicine and surgery make more informed decisions.

The training of medical residents in Mexico has been the subject of multiple studies that explore educational and learning environments and their sociodemographic characteristics, but the experiential reality of this training is not explored. Analyze through the Social Representations the discourses in relation to the medical specialty in Mexico, through medical residents in training. Qualitative study, based on a semi-structured interview based on 6 analytical categories: It was applied to 70 resident doctors from different medical specialties, the speeches were analyzed with Atlas Ti V7. Common sense in relation to being a resident doctor is referred to as being a slave and captive of a hospital, with job insecurity, unequal treatment, as well as physical and verbal violence are part of this training, in addition to inadequate areas for rest and food consumption, where the future is marked as uncertain. The predominant common sense of a group in formation transits between domination, precariousness, flexibility and labor slavery... 'this is how character is forged here' ...forming part of a hidden curriculum and a habitus of institutionalized and institutionalizing violence of the professional Of medicine.

- Abstract
Objective: Have the most current evidence in relation to the evaluation of medical healthcare for patients with diabetes in primary care., Method: During the review process, we followed the recommendations to improve the publication of systematic reviews and meta-analyses and the preferred reporting points for PRISMA systematic reviews. The bibliographic search was carried out in Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), SCOPUS, Scielo, MedLine/ PubMed, Cochrane databases and in the Google Scholar search engine, with free and controlled language, using the MeSh search terms: «Physicians, Primary Care», «Diabetes Mellitus, Type2». Eight selected articles were analyzed. The articles were selected based on their relevance, published in peer-reviewed academic journals and published between 2019 and 2023., Results: The main study tool represents interventions in knowledge and practice about the care of patients with diabetes among primary care physicians. The most important discussion topics extracted in the analyzed articles refer to knowledge, clinical inertia, patients' housing challenges, adherence intervention programs, and a self-care application for patients with diabetes., Conclusions: The findings of this study indicate the need to improve medical health care through knowledge, attitudes and practices in primary care regarding patients with diabetes. In this way, it could be considered a useful tool to promote medical healthcare in primary care., (Copyright © 2024 Sociedad Española de Médicos de Atención Primaria (SEMERGEN). - Abstract
When the patron saint festivities of Azkoitia, the Andramaris, were cancelled in 2020, several people asked me whether anything similar had ever happened. In this article, I describe the events that occurred during the cholera outbreak in Azkoitia in 1855 and the way in which it affected the festivities. No events took place, except for the odd religious celebration to ask for protection from San Roque. At the end of the pandemic, a Te Deum was sung at the Parish Church of Santa María La Real. The Asian morbid cholera claimed the lives of 69 residents in Azkoitia and 272 in Azpeitia. The work carried out by the town doctor of Azkoitia, Dionisio Ortiz Arrieta, and the barber or bleeder, Francisco Ignacio Sarriegui, is particularly interesting. I also discuss the publication by Doctor Juan Antonio Monedero that describes how the epidemic unfolded in Gipuzkoa. To end, I include a brief anecdote about the pyrotechnics of the time, citing the famous character of Canuto Aguirre from Vitoria. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The personality of Paolo Ruffini is described on occasion of the bicentennial of his death. Apart from his early years, he spent most of his life in Modena, therefore he is usually considered “Modenese”. He graduated in medicine at the University of Modena, although he was an academic professor of mathematics from the year before his graduation until his last days. He had studied this discipline during his two-year preparation period at university. From 1791 until his death, he was also a committed general practitioner. Since 1814, he was chair professor in medicine and was also appointed Dean of Modena University. He is well known to high-school students for the rule which bears his name, although his international fame is due to the theorem on the insolubility of equations greater than the fourth degree. He wrote several articles on epistemological topics considered from a Catholic perspective. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The fight for Cuban independence had numerous supporters in Europe, but the most notable contribution of sacrifice and blood was that offered by Italy. Among the Italians who supported freedom for Cuba was Dr. Francesco Federico Falco, a medical graduate from the University of Rome and specialized in surgery. As secretary of the Italian Committee for the Freedom of Cuba, he carried out intense propaganda work of solidarity for the independence cause of Cubans. The objective of this work is to evoke the revolutionary attitude of the Italian doctor who participated in the war of 1895, in favor of the Cuban cause. Dr. Falco joined the Liberation Army in 1898, to serve as a doctor in the military health corps. He was noted for his bravery as a fighter and reached the rank of Commander. When the Republic was established, the Cuban government appointed him to diplomatic positions in European countries and finally in Italy, where he began diplomatic relations between the two nations. He stood out as an intellectual, with a fruitful literary work in which he demonstrated his commitment to Cuba and contributed to spreading its history. The participation of Cuban doctors along with Italian colleagues in the confrontation with the current pandemic caused by the new coronavirus, reminds the Italian doctor FrancescoFederico Falco, who joined the Liberation Army as a doctor, to fight together with the Cubans, against colonialism Spanish in the late nineteenth century.

1. Bernhard von Guden diagnosed the Bavarian King Ludwig II with "paranoia" (madness), although Ludwig was not personally evaluated by this expert psychiatrist, a diagnosis that the Bavarian government used to justify removing Ludwig from power. 2. His increasingly abnormal behavior, his multiply building projects, for which he incurred much debt, his conviction that he descended from the Bourbons through "baptism", his unbridled homosexual life, together formed the basis for the psychiatristÂ's diagnosis. 3. According to modern criteria of psychiatry Ludwig displayed traits for schizotypal personality disorder together with an orbitofrontal syndrome, and an extravagance way of existence. 4.Bernhard von Gudden based his psychiatric diagnosis and expertise following the ethical principles of beneficence and primum non nocere, "to help, at least not to harm".
