The training of medical residents in Mexico has been the subject of multiple studies that explore educational and learning environments and their sociodemographic characteristics, but the experiential reality of this training is not explored. Analyze through the Social Representations the discourses in relation to the medical specialty in Mexico, through medical residents in training. Qualitative study, based on a semi-structured interview based on 6 analytical categories: It was applied to 70 resident doctors from different medical specialties, the speeches were analyzed with Atlas Ti V7. Common sense in relation to being a resident doctor is referred to as being a slave and captive of a hospital, with job insecurity, unequal treatment, as well as physical and verbal violence are part of this training, in addition to inadequate areas for rest and food consumption, where the future is marked as uncertain.
