BackgroundAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition emerging in early childhood, characterized by core features such as sociocommunicative deficits and repetitive, rigid behaviors, interests, and activities. In addition to these, disruptive behaviors (DB), including aggression, self-injury, and severe tantrums, are frequently observed in pediatric patients with ASD. The atypical antipsychotics risperidone and aripiprazole, currently the only Food and Drug Administration–approved treatments for severe DB in patients with ASD, often encounter therapeutic failure or intolerance. Given this, exploring pharmacological alternatives for more effective management of DB associated with ASD is essential. Clozapine, noted for its unique antiaggressive effects in schizophrenia and in various treatment-resistant neuropsychiatric disorders, independent from its antipsychotic efficacy, remains underexplored in youths with ASD facing severe and persistent DB. ObjectiveThis study aimed to evaluate the efficacy, tolerability, and safety of clozapine for treatment-resistant DB in youths with ASD. MethodsThis is a prospective, single-center, noncontrolled, open-label trial. After a cross-titration phase, 31 patients with ASD aged 10-17 years and with treatment-resistant DB received a flexible dosage regimen of clozapine (up to 600 mg/day) for 12 weeks. Standardized instruments were applied before, during, and after the treatment, and rigorous clinical monitoring was performed weekly. The primary outcome was assessed using the Irritability Subscale of the Aberrant Behavior Checklist. Other efficacy measures include the Clinical Global Impression Severity and Improvement, the Swanson, Nolan, and Pelham questionnaire-IV, the Childhood Autism Rating Scale, and the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale. Safety and tolerability measures comprised adverse events, vital signs, electrocardiography, laboratory tests, physical measurements, and extrapyramidal symptoms with the Simpsons-Angus Scale. Statistical analysis will include chi-square tests with Monte Carlo simulation for categorical variables, paired t tests or Wilcoxon tests for continuous variables, and multivariate linear mixed models to evaluate the primary outcome, adjusting for confounders. ResultsRecruitment commenced in February 2023. Data collection was concluded by April 2024, with analysis ongoing. This article presents the protocol of the initially planned study to provide a detailed methodological description. The results of this trial will be published in a future paper. ConclusionsThe urgent need for effective pharmacological therapies in mitigating treatment-resistant DB in pediatric patients with ASD underscores the importance of this research. Our study represents the first open-label trial to explore the anti-aggressive effects of clozapine in this specific demographic, marking a pioneering step in clinical investigation. Adopting a pragmatic approach, this trial protocol aims to mirror real-world clinical settings, thereby enhancing the applicability and relevance of our findings. The preliminary nature of future results from this research has the potential to pave the way for more robust studies and emphasize the need for continued innovation in ASD treatment. Abstract It has been well established that a consolidated memory can be updated during the plastic state induced by reactivation. This updating process opens the possibility to modify maladaptive memory. In the present study, we evaluated whether fear memory could be updated to less-aversive level by incorporating hedonic information during reactivation. Thus, male rats were fear conditioned and, during retrieval, a female was presented as a social rewarding stimulus. We found that memory reactivation with a female (but not a male) reduces fear expression within-session and in the test, without presenting reinstatement or spontaneous recovery. Interestingly, this intervention impaired extinction. Finally, we demonstrated that this emotional remodeling to eliminate fear expression requires the activation of dopamine and oxytocin receptors during retrieval. Hence, these results shed new lights on the memory updating process and suggests that the exposure to natural rewarding information such as a female during retrieval reduces a previously consolidated fear memory.

Abstract: Respiratory diseases pose a significant threat to the health of the Brazilian population, ranking among the leading causes of hospitalizations and deaths in the country. The most impacted demographics are children, adolescents, and older adults, who respectively have the highest rates of hospitalizations and deaths. An exploratory ecological study was conducted to assess the spatio-temporal distribution of hospitalizations and deaths due to respiratory diseases among children, adolescents, and older adults residing in municipalities in the Brazilian Legal Amazon. Moreover, the study aimed to identify priority municipalities within the detected clusters by employing composite synthetic municipal indices. These indices were estimated based on various socio-environmental and health indicators. The scan analysis identified clusters across various time periods but they mostly aligned with the disease trends in the region. We were able to identify clusters both near metropolitan areas and in remote locations, capturing two distinct patterns of cluster distribution. Moreover, the application of composite synthetic indices enabled a comprehensive identification of priority municipalities, considering various factors relevant to the health conditions of the population in the studied areas.

RESUMO Objetivo Verificar os efeitos imediatos da fotobiomodulação na produção do fluxo salivar e a correlação dos dados demográficos, antropométricos e de uso de medicamentos. Método Participaram do estudo 100 indivíduos saudáveis, com idade entre 18 e 76 anos (média 27,2 anos), divididos de forma randomizada em grupo experimental e grupo placebo. Foram realizadas as avaliações das medidas antropométricas, autopercepção da produção de saliva e a sialometria. Na sequência, realizou-se a irradiação do LASER no comprimento de onda infravermelho (808 nanômetros) com 100 miliwatts (mw) de potência em cinco pontos intraorais: nas glândulas sublingual e bilateralmente nas submandibulares e parótidas, nas doses 9, 18 e 24 joules (J). A sialometria foi repetida após cada aplicação. O grupo controle recebeu os mesmos procedimentos com equipamento placebo. Resultados Houve associação estatística na autopercepção de redução da saliva no grupo experimental para a dose de 24J e na sialometria e na redução do fluxo salivar para as doses 18J e 24J e aumento para 9J, em ambos os grupos. Não houve associação quando comparado entre os grupos experimental e placebo. A análise de regressão multinomial múltipla revelou que a redução ou o aumento do fluxo salivar independe das variáveis demográficas, antropométricas e uso de medicamentos. Conclusão A ação bioinibitória da fotobiomodulação sobre as glândulas salivares saudáveis ocorreu em dose de 18J e 24J, já ação bioestimulante na dose 9J, independe das variáveis demográficas, antropométricas e uso de medicamentos. A autopercepção da redução do fluxo salivar ocorreu em 24J.

Objetivo: relatar o uso de moulage na simulação clínica de curativos em lesões tegumentares entre estudantes de enfermagem. Método: realizado em outubro e novembro de 2022, sobre o uso de moulage para representar lesões em simulação clínica de curativos na graduação de enfermagem. Utilizando cinco etapas: ponto de partida; perguntas iniciais; recuperação do processo vivido; reflexão de fundo e pontos de chegada. Resultados: realizou-se três simulações clínicas, com 28 estudantes. Na produção utilizou-se látex, massinha de maquiagem, amido de milho, tinta antialérgica, pincéis, esponja, sangue artificial e algodão, com custo de R$107,35. Conclusão: é uma estratégia valiosa para o ensino de curativos em lesões tegumentares e contribui para o processo de ensino-aprendizagem de estudantes de enfermagem.

The objective of this study was to evaluate microbial leakage by means of genome counts, through the implant–abutment interface in dental implants with different Morse taper abutments. Fifty-six samples were prepared and divided in four groups: CMC TB (14 Cylindrical Implants–14 TiBase Abutments), CMX TB (14 Conical Implants–14 TiBase Abutments), CMX PU (14 Conical Implants–14 Universal Abutment) and CMX U (14 Tapered Implants–14 UCLA Abutments). Assemblies had their interface submerged in saliva as the contaminant. Samples were subjected either to thermomechanical cycling (2 × 106 mechanical cycles with frequency of 5 Hz and load of 120 N simultaneously with thermal cycles of 5–55 °C) or thermal cycling (5–55 °C). After cycling, the contents from the inner parts of assemblies were collected and analyzed using the Checkerboard DNA–DNA hybridization technique. Significant differences in the total genome counts were found after both thermomechanical or thermal cycling: CMX U > CMX PU > CMX TB > CMC TB. There were also significant differences in individual bacterial counts in each of the groups (p < 0.05). Irrespective of mechanical cycling, the type of abutment seems to influence not only the total microbial leakage through the interface, but also seems to significantly reflect differences considering individual target species.

Lambda-cyhalothrin (LC) is a pyrethroid insecticide employed to manage various arthropods as an alternative to persistent insecticides with minimized toxic effects on birds and mammals. However, LC causes oxidative and neurotoxic damages in fish Danio rerio. Effects of LC in morphology of liver of fishes are scare. We aimed to establish the lethal concentration (LC50 96 h) of pyrethroid LC for Astianax lacustris. Then, we compare liver responses of sublethal doses of LC (i.e. 10.30 µg/L) for acute (i.e 1- and 3-days post-exposure - dpe) and chronic (i.e 6 and 12 dpe). We sought to identify pathological changes and compare liver histometric remodeling in fish subjected to acute and chronic toxicity tests. For this, liver histological changes were evaluated using the degree of tissue changes (DTC), followed by histomorphometric techniques determining structural volumetric density, glycogen cell density, and morphometry of hepatic tissue. We observed high hepatocellular injuries in exposed fishes. The main injuries included leukocyte infiltration, hyperemia, and pyknotic nuclei, especially 6 dpe. Hepatic glycogen storage decreases at 6 and 12 dpe showing metabolic damage. Both, density and volume of decreases after LC exposure in all exposure time. However, sinusoidal density increases after LC exposure, suggesting vascular hyperemia. These results show morphophysiological effects of LC at 10.30 µg/L in acute and chronic exposure represented by decreased glycogen storage, structural density, and volume of hepatocytes, in addition to a higher degree of histological changes.

Introdução: O Crossfit® é um treinamento de alta intensidade, com movimentos funcionais. Exercícios de alta intensidade demandam um aporte energético adequado, principalmente de carboidratos para promover a homeostase glicêmica, fornecendo energia para as atividades que serão realizadas e retardando a fadiga. Existem diversos recursos para promover um melhor desempenho em praticantes de atividade física, um deles muito utilizado é o recurso ergogênico o qual tem função de promover melhora na capacidade de desenvolver trabalho muscular. Objetivo: Verificar a influência do doce de leite como fonte energética na performance de praticantes de Crossfit®. Materiais e Métodos: Estudo quantitativo, longitudinal, realizado em campo. Os participantes realizaram um treino próprio da Crossfit®, sendo 21-15-9 de deadlifts e burpee over bar, com um tempo limite de cinco minutos. O treino foi realizado três vezes com um intervalo de pelo menos cinco dias de um treinamento para o outro, com o uso do doce de leite no decorrer das atividades, podendo ser de 15g e 30g do doce, e uma semana em que não havia a ingesta. Foi realizado de forma randomizada, sem regra para as semanas. Resultados: Houve uma melhora na performance dos participantes quando comparado o treino com o doce para o treino sem o doce. Os resultados apresentaram um aumento em repetições por minutos de 9,36% quando comparado 0g para 15g do uso do doce de leite e de 12,42% comparado de 0g para 30g do doce de leite. Conclusão: Conclui-se que o doce de leite como pré-treino pode promover melhora na performance.

Resumo. Este artigo tem como objetivo trazer uma discussão sobre os eventuais traumas provocados pelas situações de refúgio, bem como sobre o potencial da arte em auxiliar na elaboração destes traumas. Partindo de uma interlocução entre psicanálise e teorias sociais críticas, desenvolvemos algumas considerações acerca da psicologia do trauma e sobre o processo de elaboração psíquica por meio da arte. Compreendemos que o contato com a criação artística, seja na posição de criador, espectador ou através da arteterapia, tem como efeito a inclusão cultural de sujeitos refugiados no país de acolhimento, bem como a criação de memórias coletivas. Consideramos que a inclusão cultural e a reconstrução de memórias contribuem para a elaboração psíquica das violências, perdas e lutos que costumam caracterizar o refúgio, além de pluralizar experiências e dinamizar o laço social.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE This study aims to assess covid-19 morbidity, mortality, and severity from 2020 to 2021 in five Brazilian Amazon states with the highest records of wildfires. METHODS A distributed lag non-linear model was applied to estimate the potential exposure risk association with particulate matter smaller than 2.5-µm in diameter (PM2.5). Daily mean temperature, relative humidity, percentual of community mobility, number of hospital beds, days of the week, and holidays were considered in the final models for controlling the confounding factors. RESULTS The states of Para, Mato Grosso, and Amazonas have reported the highest values of overall cases, deaths, and severe cases of covid-19. The worrying growth in the percentual rates in 2020/2021 for the incidence, severity, and mortality were highlighted in Rondônia and Mato Grosso. The growth in 2020/2021 in the estimations of PM2.5 concentrations was higher in Mato Grosso, with an increase of 24.4%, followed by Rondônia (14.9%). CONCLUSION This study establishes an association between wildfire-generated PM2.5 and increasing covid-19 incidence, mortality, and severity within the studied area. The findings showed that the risk of covid-19 morbidity and mortality is nearly two times higher among individuals exposed to high concentrations of PM2.5. The attributable fraction to PM2.5 in the studied area represents an important role in the risk associated with covid-19 in the Brazilian Amazon region.

Introdução/Objetivo: A Shiguelose é uma doença infecciosa gastrointestinal causada por bactérias gram-negativas não esporuladas. Reconhecida pela Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) como um problema de saúde pública, possui ocorrência de 80 milhões de casos e 700.000 mortes por ano, afetando principalmente crianças de países em desenvolvimento. O objetivo do estudo é analisar o perfil epidemiológico das internações por Shiguelose no Brasil no período de 2013 a 2022. Métodos: Trata-se de uma pesquisa transversal, quantitativa, descritiva e observacional, com dados coletados de janeiro de 2013 a dezembro de 2022. Assim, a análise deu-se pelo total de internações por Shiguelose no Brasil. A coleta de dados foi realizada através do Sistema de Informações Hospitalares do SUS (SIH/SUS), obtidos da plataforma DATASUS, utilizando os filtros “Região”, “Idade”, ''Sexo'', “caráter de atendimento”, “gastos hospitalares”, ''taxa de letalidade'', ''Cor/raça'' e “ano”. Resultados: Do total de 1.794 internações por Shiguelose no Brasil, o Nordeste foi a região mais acometida (44,2%), seguido da região Norte, com 21,1%, sendo os anos de 2013, com 406 internações o mais incidente e 2021 com menor índice, com 77 internações, apresentando uma queda de 81% nesse período. Além disso, houve, ao total com gastos hospitalares, o valor de 638.754,18 reais, em que, dentro do caráter de atendimento, 1.697 (94,5%) foram de Urgência. Foi identificado que pardos (60,5%), sexo feminino (51%) e na faixa etária entre 01 e 04 anos, com 374 (17,5%) são as variáveis epidemiológicas mais acometidas. Ademais, os casos mostraram uma letalidade de 1,16%, com a região Sul apresentando-se mais predominante (1,88%), sendo o total de óbitos registrados de 21. Conclusão: No Brasil, entre 2013 e 2022, observou-se redução nos números de internações por Shiguelose. A região Nordeste foi a maior em número de casos notificados, porém a maior letalidade foi observada na região Sul. Além disso, nota-se a prevalência de casos em crianças, corroborando com a literatura. Portanto, garantir acesso de qualidade à Atenção Básica de Saúde é essencial para o controle da doença. O estudo apresentou limitações, tanto na subnotificação dos casos, quanto na impossibilidade de relacionar causa e efeito. Desse modo, estudos mais complexos são necessários para mapear essas categorias, com o intuito de desenvolver políticas públicas em saúde no Brasil.

Introdução/Objetivo: Criptococose é a infecção causada a partir da inalação de leveduras do gênero Cryptococcus e tem distribuição mundial. A maior ocorrência se dá em pessoas imunossuprimidas, manifestando-se geralmente como meningoencefalite ou de forma disseminada. A mortalidade é elevada, mesmo utilizando-se tratamento adequado. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar os aspectos clínicos de pacientes acompanhados em um serviço de referência, e caracterizar molecularmente os isolados fúngicos. Métodos: Estudo de coorte prospectivo de pacientes com diagnóstico de criptococose, internados no Hospital São José (HSJ), em Fortaleza/Ceará, no período de outubro de 2020 a junho de 2023. Resultados: No período do estudo foram incluídos 48 pacientes; 81,2% (39/48) eram pacientes do sexo masculino. A maioria (93,7%) apresentava quadro de meningoencefalite criptocóccica e três pacientes apresentavam criptococose disseminada, sem acometimento neurológico. Cerca de 91,6% (44/48) apresentavam diagnóstico de infecção pelo HIV e a mediana de contagem de linfócitos T CD4+ foi de 34 células/mm3. Dois pacientes apresentavam outros fatores de imunossupressão como uso crônico de corticoide e diabetes mellitus. Em dois pacientes não foram identificadas causas de imunossupressão. Óbito foi o desfecho de 11 (23%) pacientes. Dois pacientes que foram a óbito apresentavam outras infecções oportunistas como histoplasmose disseminada e meningite tuberculosa. Em 15 pacientes foi realizada a titulação do Antígeno Criptocócico (CrAg) no líquor. Os títulos variaram entre 1:80 a 1:163840. Onze pacientes obtiveram títulos de CrAg ≥1:1280. A identificação de 38 isolados fúngicos foi realizada pela técnica de MALDI-TOF, onde 92,1% (35/38) eram C. neoformans e 7,9% (3/38) eram C. gattii. Quanto à tipagem molecular, observou-se que 97,1% (34/35) das leveduras de C. neoformans eram da linhagem VNI; os isolados de C. gattii foram identificados como VGII. Conclusão: Nesta casuística evidenciou-se que a criptococose acomete gravemente pessoas com imunossupressão avançada. Altos títulos de antígeno criptocócico podem ter influenciado nos óbitos. Observa-se ainda o isolamento de C. gattii VGII altamente virulento. Ratifica-se a importância de políticas de saúde específicas para estes grupos, visando diagnóstico precoce e diminuição dos óbitos e sequelas.

Introdução/objetivo: A Febre Maculosa é uma doença febril súbita e de rápida progressão, cuja similaridade com outras patologias dificulta o diagnóstico precoce e favorece a alta taxa de mortalidade. É causada pela picada de carrapatos infectados pela bactéria Rickettsia sp., de forma que o ciclo evolutivo de junho a setembro afeta a incidência da patologia. No Brasil, entre 2013 e 2020 a letalidade foi cerca de 34,71%, demonstrando ser uma infecção de atenção pública. Logo, propõe-se analisar o perfil epidemiológico da Febre Maculosa no Brasil durante o período de 2013 a 2020. Métodos: Estudo epidemiológico descritivo observacional sobre Febre Maculosa no Brasil de acordo com o ano de ocorrência, estado de infecção, região de notificação, faixa etária, sexo, evolução do caso e autóctone no período de 2013 a 2020, com coleta de dados pelo DATASUS com tabulação a partir do programa TABNET fornecidos pelo SINAN. As variáveis foram analisadas por meio da estatística descritiva. Resultados: O total de casos confirmados de Febre Maculosa foi de 1.544, sendo 88,34% (n = 1.364) diagnosticados por critérios laboratoriais. Houve sazonalidade pelos meses de Outubro (14,37%, n = 222), Setembro (13,14%, n = 203) e Agosto (11,13%, n = 172) com pico anual em 2019 (15,99%, n = 247). As notificações dos casos foram mais prevalentes na região Sudeste (71,50%, n = 1.104) e 37,24% (n = 575) das infecções ocorreram no município de São Paulo. Foi observado que 84,77% dos casos eram autóctones (n = 1.309) e 35,81% foram infectados em ambiente domiciliar (n = 533). Os pacientes eram 71,11% (n = 1.098) do sexo masculino e 35,42% (n = 547) tinham entre 40 a 59 anos. No decorrer da infecção, 34,71% (n = 536) evoluíram para óbito pelo agravo enquanto 58,54% (n = 904) progrediram para cura. Conclusão: A doença possui predomínio pela região do Sudeste e também autóctone pela mesma, isso indica que ações para melhorar a eficácia diagnóstica devem ser intensificadas nesta região com a finalidade de ser instaurado o tratamento precocemente. Ademais, o período de maior incidência, outubro, setembro e agosto, corresponde ao ciclo reprodutivo dos carrapatos, sendo característico de um mantenedor da sazonalidade. Por fim, a alta taxa de mortalidade corrobora com a literatura das Américas, 25% a 35%, diretamente proporcional ao tempo de início do tratamento. Logo, o ainda elevado índice de óbitos no país mostra que a Febre Maculosa ainda é uma doença que necessita de maior atenção pública de saúde.

O presente artigo descreve uma experiência de extensão que teve como objetivo promover atividades práticas experimentais através de uma oficina intitulada "Os microrganismos e a compostagem". O intuito foi aprimorar o processo de ensino-aprendizagem e despertar o interesse dos estudantes pela microbiologia. O projeto foi dividido em duas etapas: teórica e prática. Ao todo, 41 alunos do Ensino Fundamental, provenientes de uma escola pública, participaram da iniciativa, permitindo-lhes adquirir conhecimento sobre o tema e desenvolver uma maior conscientização sobre a influência dos microrganismos no cotidiano das pessoas. A presente experiência revelou-se como uma oportunidade enriquecedora de aprendizado e sensibilização para os estudantes envolvidos, contribuindo positivamente para o ensino da microbiologia nesse contexto educacional.

Has war become obsolete? Some argue that macro-historical social processes are leading war into obsolescence, while for others that pattern is explained by the fact that war is a lingering potential outcome of international politics. I argue that both answers reveal a fundamental problem with the debate about the ‘end of war’. The focus on securing predictions about the end of war keeps analyses trapped in either a teleological or nomothetical linearity and overshadows the varied set of contingent mechanisms that allow for non-violent outcomes to prevail in contentious political episodes. The ‘War on War’ could benefit from analyses that asses shifting configurations of mechanisms in power politics.

Background: Understanding the correlation between the methods of monitoring surface cleaning and disinfection (SCD) is fundamental for better infection control. Purpose: This study aims to correlate the SCD monitoring methods in a Brazilian pediatric unit. This is an exploratory, longitudinal, and correlational study. Methods: The study was conducted in a pediatric hospitalization unit of a medium-sized hospital from December 2020 to March 2021. Four high-contact surfaces were analyzed before and after the cleaning and disinfection process by means of visual inspection, quantification of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), and colony-forming unit (CFU) count. The study consisted of three stages: stage I involving situational diagnosis of the SCD process; stage II referring to the implementation of the Surface Cleaning and Disinfection Standardization Program (SCDSP); and stage III involving long-term assessment after implementing the program. A total of 192 assessments were performed in each stage, totaling 576 in the three study stages. Conclusions: A significant correlation was found between the ATP quantification methods and microbial count in the bed railing ( p = 0.009) and companion’s armchair ( p = 0.018) surfaces. In both cases, Spearman’s correlation coefficients were positive, indicating a positive correlation between ATP and microbial count scores, that is, the higher the ATP values (in RLUs), the greater the microbial counts (in CFUs/cm 2 ). The analysis of the ROC curves suggests that the surfaces presenting ATP below 108 RLUs can be considered approved. The ATP method yielded 78.6% sensitivity; in turn, microbial count presented a sensitivity of 85.7%. It is important to use different methods to monitor the cleaning and disinfection of surfaces, as each one has different sensitivity and specificity.

Such as differential correction systems, which are essential for the accuracy of the parallelism of vehicle guidance systems as for the quality of the seeding operation. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the accuracy of the autopilot - guided passes under RTK differential and geostationary satellite systems involved in pneumatic and mechanical sowing of corn; as well as to analyze the quality of the sowing operation using the plant stand as indicator. Two treatments were analyzed: autopilot RTK (Real Time Kinematic) and geostationary satellites, used in sowing operations. The evaluations were carried out under field. The use of autopilot with RTK differential correction in corn sowing operations offers greater accuracy between passes than that obtained with satellite correction. As to the quality of the sowing operation, the pneumatics show a better regularity in the distribution of corn seeds.

No cenário contemporâneo, localizamos uma concepção hegemônica e idealizada sobre a linguagem, definida como capaz de representar a realidade e o sujeito, bem como realizar a plena tradução do sujeito e do outro. Entendemos que os pressupostos modernos de identidade, sujeito cognoscente, tempo linear, binarismo, dentre outros, sustentam a concepção hegemônica de linguagem. Esse artigo visa realizar um exercício de desconstrução da concepção idealizada da linguagem e das suas relações com o modo de subjetivar, que opera a partir dos pressupostos modernos. Produziu-se nesse artigo a leitura e a análise desconstrutiva de algumas cenas do filme Babel (2006), recorrendo ao aporte teórico de autores pós-estruturalistas como Foucault e Derrida. Utilizaram-se conceitos como descontínuo e acontecimento para trabalhar com as aporias da língua e da comunicação, relacionando-as aos pressupostos da identidade, do sujeito cognoscente e do tempo linear. Entende-se que a(s) língua(s) se associam à diferença, aos deslizamentos dos sentidos e à alteridade.

Na região semiárida, o cultivo da mandioca é praticado essencialmente por pequenos agricultores, cujos ciclos sucessivos na mesma área, podem levar ao esgotamento da fertilidade do solo. O uso de plantas de cobertura em pré-plantio é uma prática recomendada para melhoria das características físico-químicas do solo, todavia, seus efeitos sobre as características agronômicas da mandioca ainda são pouco estudados. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o desenvolvimento e a produção da mandioca (Manihot esculenta), referente aos anos safras de 2014/15 e 2015/16, sob a biomassa seca das diferentes coberturas vegetais utilizadas em pré-plantio em LATOSSOLO AMARELO Distrófico psamítico, no litoral Piauiense.O delineamento empregado foi o inteiramente casualizado, com os tratamentos dispostos em fatorial 2 x 3, correspondendo a dois sistemas de manejo: roçado e roçado+incorporado; e três culturas de cobertura: vegetação espontânea, crotalária juncea e feijão-de-porco, com quatro repetições. Foram avaliados a produtividade, número de raízes por planta, massa média de raiz, diâmetro médio da haste, comprimento médio da raiz, massa verde de raízes, massa verde da parte aérea, massa total índice de colheita, além do aporte de biomassa seca resultante dos cortes das plantas de cobertura. A C. juncea apresentou a maior produção de biomassa seca. As coberturas vegetais utilizadas em pré-plantio como adubos verdes não influenciaram nas características agronômicas da mandioca na região do litoral Piauiese.

Pulmonary loborraphy can be performed using manual sutures and staples, although other methods, such as tissue adhesives, are also cited in the veterinary literature. Although the surgery is well tolerated in the canine species, failure in pulmonary aerostasis is still a reality since all the methods described so far eventually lead to air leakage after the use of the partial lobectomy technique in the lungs. Within this context, the aim of this research was to compare the effectiveness of different hermetic sealing methods after partial lobectomy of the right caudal lung lobe (RCLL) in dogs. 30 cadavers models were divided in 6 groups: G1—cobbler suture associated with simple continuous; G2—overlapping continuous suture associated with simple continuous suture; G3—Ford interlocking suture; G4—Stapling device; G5—Tissue glue (cyanoacrylate). After performing the sealing techniques, the lungs were submerged in water and inflated with oxygen at positive ventilatory pressures at physiological (up to 14.7 mmHg, which is equivalent to up to 20 cmH2O) and supraphysiological levels (above 14.7 mmHg) to evaluate the performance of the sealing methods. At physiological ventilatory pressure levels, there was no difference between groups. Sealing with surgical glue was superior to interlocking sutures and stapling devices at supraphysiological levels of ventilatory pressure.

Introdução: o câncer de colo de útero é causado, em sua maioria, pelo Papilomavírus Humano (HPV), além de ser o quarto tipo de câncer, entre mulheres, mais comum em todo o mundo, devido a isso a OMS tem como plano a exclusão do câncer de colo de útero como problema de saúde pública. Objetivo: apresentar os dados de óbitos por câncer de colo de útero no Brasil. Método: estudo descritivo com dados obtidos a partir do banco de dados do Instituto Nacional do Câncer indexado ao DATASUS no período de 2010 a 2019. Resultados: a distribuição dos dados de morte por câncer de colo de útero não obteve grande baixa percentual do ano de 2010-2019, demonstra que todas as regiões baixaram seu percentual, exceto a região Sul, que teve um aumento de + 0,37%. Conclusão: O câncer de colo de útero é uma doença evitável em sua maior parte com o uso de preservativos, e vacinação, é de extrema importância ações de prevenção, diagnóstico e tratamento precoce para a redução dos casos de óbitos no Brasil.

Chromoblastomycosis (CBM) is a chronic cutaneous and subcutaneous mycosis caused by black, dimorphic, and filamentous fungi of the Herpothrichiellaceae family, such as species of the genus Fonsecaea. These fungi can switch between the saprophytic forms (conidia and hyphae) and the pathogenic form, the muriform cells (MCs), which is considered an essential mechanism for fungal virulence. Nearly all types of cells can produce membranous structures formed by a lipid bilayer that communicate extracellularly with other cells, known as “extracellular vesicles” (EVs), which may act as virulence factors, as observed for several species of pathogenic fungi. Our findings demonstrated for the first time that F. pedrosoi, F. nubica, and F. erecta produce EVs in response to nutritional conditions. The EVs varied in sterol and protein contents, size, and morphology. Moreover, the EVs induced different cytokine and nitric oxide release patterns by bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs). The EVs activated IL-1β production, possibly acting as the first signal in inflammasome activation. Unlike the pathogenic species, the EVs isolated from F. erecta did not significantly stimulate TNF and IL-10 production in general. Overall, these results demonstrated that different species of Fonsecaea produce EVs capable of modulating pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokine and nitric oxide production by BMDMs and that growth conditions affected the immunomodulatory capacities of the EVs as well as their size, content, and morphology.

Apesar dos avanços significativos na agricultura brasileira, os custos logísticos, especialmente com transporte e armazenamento, ainda são as principais barreiras que limitam o potencial do agronegócio brasileiro. Este estudo analisa a eficiência logística das principais rotas de escoamento para exportação do milho brasileiro dos principais estados produtores aos principais portos do Brasil. Para isso, desenvolvemos um sistema de medição de desempenho baseado no Balanced Scorecard (BSC), usando modelo de quatro dimensões para análise de eficiência: financeira, cliente, processos internos do negócio e aprendizado/crescimento. Calculamos a eficiência das principais rotas usando a Análise de Envoltória de Dados (DEA). Nossos resultados sugerem que as rotas do Estado de Mato Grosso com destino ao o porto de Santarém no Estado do Pará, utilizando um sistema de transporte intermodal via hidrovia, foram as rotas mais eficientes em três dos quatro critérios avaliados. Posteriormente, analisamos a eficiência relativa de todas as principais rotas brasileiras com base nos quatro critérios, estabelecendo um ranking de eficiência, e ainda, desenvolvemos um modelo padrão capaz de para avaliar outros sistemas logísticos para diferentes commodities agrícolas.

This study aimed to select and classify sunflower genotypes tolerant to lead (Pb) stress and evaluate their capacity of phytoextraction based on physiological, nutritional, and biochemical responses. Two experiments were carried out under lead stress. In the first experiment, out of 21 genotypes studied three showed higher relative biomass yield and were characterized as Pb-tolerant and five showed lower relative biomass production and were considered Pb-sensitive. In the second experiment, one Pb-tolerant (BRS-G27) and two Pb-sensitive (H251 and AG963) genotypes were studied. In this experiment, Pb stress reduced the growth and contents photosynthetic pigments in all genotypes, but more pronouncedly in sensitive genotypes. There were no substantial changes in micronutrient levels in the leaves and stem, but the levels of Cu and Mn in the stressed roots of sensitive genotypes were much lower than in BRS-G27. The contents of organic solutes in the roots suggest that sensitive genotypes have higher energy costs for osmoregulation by carbohydrates and amino acids synthesis. However, the accumulation of proline may be related to a greater Pb tolerance. Considering the results of dry mass yield, transfer coefficient, translocation factor, and tolerance index, the BRS-G27 genotype can be recommended for use in phytoremediation of Pb-contaminated soils.

The circadian rhythm involves multiple genes that generate an internal molecular clock, allowing organisms to anticipate environmental conditions produced by the Earth’s rotation on its axis. Here, we present the results of the manual curation of 27 genes that are associated with circadian rhythm in the genome of Diaphorina citri, the Asian citrus psyllid. This insect is the vector for the bacterial pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), the causal agent of citrus greening disease (Huanglongbing). This disease severely affects citrus industries and has drastically decreased crop yields worldwide. Based on cry1 and cry2 identified in the psyllid genome, D. citri likely possesses a circadian model similar to the lepidopteran butterfly, Danaus plexippus. Manual annotation will improve the quality of circadian rhythm gene models, allowing the future development of molecular therapeutics, such as RNA interference or antisense technologies, to target these genes to disrupt the psyllid biology.

Modern wireless communication systems rely heavily on multiple antennas and their corresponding signal processing to achieve optimal performance. As 5G and 6G networks emerge, beamforming and beam management become increasingly complex due to factors such as user mobility, a higher number of antennas, and the adoption of elevated frequencies. Artificial intelligence, specifically machine learning, offers a valuable solution to mitigate this complexity and minimize the overhead associated with beam management and selection, all while maintaining system performance. Despite growing interest in AI-assisted beamforming, beam management, and selection, a comprehensive collection of datasets and benchmarks remains scarce. Furthermore, identifying the most-suitable algorithm for a given scenario remains an open question. This article aimed to provide an exhaustive survey of the subject, highlighting unresolved issues and potential directions for future developments. The discussion encompasses the architectural and signal processing aspects of contemporary beamforming, beam management, and selection. In addition, the article examines various communication challenges and their respective solutions, considering approaches such as centralized/decentralized, supervised/unsupervised, semi-supervised, active, federated, and reinforcement learning.

Com a endemia do vírus Sars-CoV-2, muitos indivíduos acometidos de doenças hepáticas preexistentes como cirrose hepática e as hepatopatias crônicas se tornaram expostos à descompensação do quadro pela virulência da exposição e à suscetibilidade individual pela infecção do novo coronavírus. A citotoxicidade direta do vírus Sars-CoV-2 ocorre pela sua replicação nas células hepáticas, dada pela ligação do agente às células-alvo pela expressão da enzima conversora de angiotensina 2 (ECA2), que é a principal mediadora da replicação viral nos pacientes infectados pela Covid-19. Como consequência, as citocinas pró-inflamatórias aumentam e podem provocar hipóxia e isquemia sistêmica. Em associação à linfopenia e à diminuição dos níveis de células T-CD4+, os pacientes podem evoluir para descompensação ou piora do quadro infeccioso, com a insuficiência hepática crônica agudizada desde a primeira semana e, assim, diminuição de sobrevida. Os pacientes pré-diagnosticados com cirrose e infectados pelo vírus da Covid-19 possuem maior acometimento hepático e pior prognóstico e, portanto, merecem acompanhamento especial, sendo cuidadosamente avaliados a fim de possibilitar a redução das lesões hepáticas causadas pela infecção.

Background Ventricular tachycardia (VT) in patients with chronic chagasic cardiomyopathy (CCC) is associated with considerable morbidity and mortality. Catheter ablation of VT in patients with CCC is very complex and challenging. The main goal of this work was to assess the efficacy of VT catheter ablation guided by late potentials (LPs) in patients with CCC. Methods and Results Seventeen consecutive patients with refractory VT and CCC were prospectively included in the study. Combined endo‐epicardial voltage and late activation mapping were obtained during baseline rhythm to define scarred and LP areas, respectively. Brycon hilarii is a neotropical fish whose population in rivers is being threatened by overfishing, construction of hydroelectric dams, transposition of riverbeds, and pollution. Fundamental knowledge of the reproductive characteristics of this species is necessary to enable its breeding in captivity, for aquaculture as well as for biological conservation. The aim of this study was to investigate and describe the sperm parameters, their correlations, and relevant factors, and how these issues can affect sperm quality in B. hilarii. Sperm was collected after hormonal induction using carp pituitary homogenate. Spermatozoa concentration, total length, motility, and percentage of normal cells were measured to be 2.85 × 109 cells mL−1, 40.28 µm, 68.1%, and 51.6%, respectively. Tail abnormalities were most frequent; however, head abnormalities were closely related to practically all sperm kinetic parameters. Present results suggest that these abnormalities affect motility and movement kinetics, and modifying the pattern of sperm cell movement, sinuosity of movement and vigor. The potential application of this study in aquaculture management of B. hilarii is crucial for the artificial reproduction of fish and represents a significant contribution to the knowledge of its reproductive biology, facilitating the reproduction of the species.

Esse artigo analisa a obra Lei da jornada (Law of the journey) do artista contemporâneo Ai Weiwei. Para isso, utiliza-se o método psicanalítico da atenção flutuante de modo a investigar a obra como uma formação do inconsciente, sintoma de um tempo que interroga contextos e obras que extrapolam as intencionalidades do artista. Perscruta-se a densidade da imagem e do universo simbólico que constitui a obra, operando com os conceitos freud-lacanianos de sujeito, estrangeiro e uma concepção híbrida de tempo. A reflexão desdobra-se em discussões sobre o unheimliche (infamiliar), o trauma e a diferença, buscando, no enlace com a obra, problematizar questões subjetivas, políticas e históricas tocantes às jornadas dos refugiados.

ABSTRACT: Strawberry guava (Psidium cattleyanumm Sabine) is a species native to southern Brazil which exhibits significant potential for economic exploitation. The objective of this study was to evaluate the growth response of strawberry guava subjected to liming and phosphate fertilizer in pre-planting. The treatments consisted of four lime levels: 0; 33.3; 66.6 and 100 % of the dose needed to increase the pH in water to 6.0, and four phosphorus (P) doses: 0; 83.3; 166.6 and 250 kg ha–1 of P2O5. Plant growth parameters were evaluated for three years. In the years 2018 and 2019, the mineral composition of leaves, photosynthethic pigment indices and mycorrhizal colonization on strawberry guava roots were measured. Liming and phosphate fertilizer altered neither plant growth nor the photosynthetic pigment indices and there was no interaction between the factors studied and the remaining variables evaluated. However, liming promoted increases in the Ca and Mg shoot content, and the phosphate fertilizer increased the levels of shoot P in the third year of growth. Mycorrhizal colonization was stronger when the P soil levels were low, which could explain the absence of response to phosphate fertilization on plant growth for the first three years after planting.

Este artigo pretende discutir alguns conceitos de Pierre Bourdieu, como: habitus, poder simbólico, espaço social, classe social, violência simbólica etc. Especificamente, será abordado o caso da elite carioca dos bairros de Copacabana, Ipanema, Leme(comunidade CIL)no jornal Beira-Mar durante o período de ingresso do Brasil na Segunda Guerra Mundial (1942-45). Para isso, foi necessário realizar uma breve introdução ao contexto histórico do Estado Novo (1937-45) e da imprensa naquele períodopara podermos situaro Beira-Mar.Tal estudo será feito por meio de um exame dos estudos (livros, teses, artigos) sobre o tema, publicados por uma série de autores, como o próprio Pierre Bourdieu, Daniele Chaves Amado, Paulo Francisco Donadio Baptista, Norbert Elias, Ângela de Castro Gomes etc. Este estudo também visa entender como estes conceitos podem ser aplicados ao caso da elite da comunidade CIL. O tema é relevante pois foi estudado por poucos autores, principalmente nesta fonte e sob esta perspectiva.

Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo verificar a perspectiva dos profissionais da área de recursos humanos de empresas situadas nos Vales do Sinos e Paranhana no Rio Grande do Sul sobre o tema liderança sustentável. A pesquisa classifica-se em descritiva, levantamento, quantitativa e qualitativa. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de um questionário. Os resultados da pesquisa demonstram que os profissionais da área de recursos humanos ainda precisam conhecer o conceito de liderança sustentável. No que diz respeito às responsabilidades do líder sustentável, verificou-se que a mais pontuada pelos respondentes, refere-se à responsabilidade do líder em criar ações sustentáveis, preocupando-se com o meio em que está inserido. Com relação às características do líder sustentável, as mais pontuadas foram: estratégico, para introduzir a sustentabilidade na estratégia e na cultura da organização; e proatividade para se engajar com as iniciativas de sustentabilidade.

Este artigo tem o objetivo de discutir as transformações em torno da escola e de seus mecanismos e relações de poder a partir da emergência de dois movimentos políticos: um por um viés enrijecedor e de características autoritárias representado pela “Escola sem Partido” e outro por uma via da resistência criadora e da produção de singularidade representado pelas recentes ocupações secundaristas. Trata-se de uma abordagem teórica e qualitativa onde através do conceito de Deleuze de sociedade de controle buscamos levantar indícios sobre transformações no modelo de escola da modernidade ancorada até então em práticas de poder referentes ao que Foucault conceituou como sociedade disciplinar. Procuramos argumentar como esses movimentos políticos (“Escola sem partido”, ocupações secundaristas) são efeitos dessas transformações nas tecnologias de poder na sociedade e na escola no sentido de contribuir para o debate sobre os desafios e os rumos futuros da educação.

Concentrating solar thermal (CST) energy applications are growing worldwide, especially in combined cooling, heat, and power processes. Building upon the analysis of a building’s thermal comfort, and software simulations for CST, the current study evaluates a solar conditioning system integrated with absorption systems. The cooling system is equipped with single-, double- and triple-effect configurations cycle, production parameters, and thermal storage. The required fraction of auxiliary energy for the system operation is estimated. The results indicate that the double effect system is the best configuration for the adopted location in Brazil. The system’s annual auxiliary energy demand is, approximately, 20%. Triple-effect systems require less energy at higher temperatures due to local direct radiation, which then leads to an intermittent operation and greater auxiliary energy demands. The methodology applied in this work could be adopted in different locations, with an emphasis on the possibility of testing smaller scale systems in small buildings.

N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors are heterotetramers composed of two GluN1 obligatory subunits and two regulatory subunits. In cognitive-related brain structures, GluN2A and GluN2B are the most abundant regulatory subunits, and their expression is subjected to tight regulation. During development, GluN2B expression is characteristic of immature synapses, whereas GluN2A is present in mature ones. This change in expression induces a shift in GluN2A/GluN2B ratio known as developmental switch. Moreover, modifications in this relationship have been associated with learning and memory, as well as different pathologies. In this work, we used a specific shRNA to induce a reduction in GluN2A expression after the developmental switch, both in vitro in primary cultured hippocampal neurons and in vivo in adult male Wistar rats. After in vitro characterization, we performed a cognitive profile and evaluated seizure susceptibility in vivo. Our in vitro results showed that the decrease in the expression of GluN2A changes GluN2A/GluN2B ratio without altering the expression of other regulatory subunits. Moreover, rats expressing the anti-GluN2A shRNA in vivo displayed an impaired contextual fear-conditioning memory. In addition, these animals showed increased seizure susceptibility, in terms of both time and intensity, which led us to conclude that deregulation in GluN2A expression at the hippocampus is associated with seizure susceptibility and learning–memory mechanisms.

This article establishes a discussion in the scope of memory policies based on two works of Rosângela Rennó: Cicatriz and Imemorial. The works are analyzed through a hybrid understanding of memory, articulating concepts from Sigmund Freud and Walter Benjamin, as well as from authors that allow us to relaunch issues related to the body, trauma and anachronism, such as Hannah Arendt, Didi-Huberman, Grada Kilomba and Márcio Seligmann-Silva. Through the artist's works, we revisit and articulate the bodies and the history traumas, both marked by exclusion, forgetfulness and silence. We also emphasize the need for narratives capable of harboring their marks and elaborating new possibilities of existence. In this way, we seek to expand the reverberations of the inexorable marks of bodies and times.

This study set out to assess the nutritional status of peach trees in the commercial peach-growing region of Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul. The sample includes 65 peach orchards of the Maciel, Granada, Esmeralda, and Sensação cultivars in the municipalities of Pelotas, Canguçu, and Morro Redondo during the 2018 agricultural cycle. After drying and grinding the leaf samples for an analysis of their nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), boron (B), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), and zinc (Zn) content, the results were presented in frequency distributions divided into classes based on the nutrient requirements indicated for the crop in the region, in addition to the correlations between the nutrients. Greater deficiencies were observed in nitrogen, copper, iron, and zinc content. However, potassium content was found in the “above normal” class for most of the samples, and there were correlations between P/Ca, P/Cu, Ca/P, Ca/Mg, and Ca/B. An insufficient use of the tools to assess the nutritional status of the orchards was observed, especially the leaf diagnosis, which led to the inappropriate use of fertilizers and the consequent nutrient imbalance in the plants.

Goal: The main objective of this study was to evaluate the preference structure for MSS certifications in a Brazilian supply chain. Design/methodology/approach: To form the set of attributes, five MSS were selected that certify companies in the Brazilian sugarcane supply chain, and a sample of 66 large and medium-sized companies in operation was obtained. Results: The results show that the Brazilian sugarcane companies supply chain presented a higher preference for suppliers with ISO 9001 (38.7%), ISO 22000 (19.9%), ISO 14001 (19.6%), OHSAS 18001 (13.2%) and ISO 27001 (8.6%) certification and contribute to the literature by offering new and broader insight into industrial buying behavior in the business-to-business context with respect to the adoption of MSS. Limitations of the investigation: The low number of observations may be a factor limiting the investigation. And the study is limited to sugar-alcohol companies in Brazil. Practical implications: Companies within the supply chain still prefer the traditional certifications, even when the market is saturated with such certifications. These results help better explain industrial behavior and illuminate the relationships that companies develop within the supply chain, that might thus be of great assistance to suppliers wishing to become part of this supply chain by identifying which MSS certifications are most valued by purchasing companies. Originality/value: The article analyzes which MSS are most important for the Brazilian companies of sugar cane and ethanol. And can be of great value to managers, suppliers, and stakeholders in this industry, as well as a model for developing countries.

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate five nonparametric selection indices for the selection of hybrid citrus rootstocks grafted with 'Valência' sweet orange, using horticultural traits relevant for the juice processing industry. Forty-six rootstocks were evaluated in a randomized complete block design, with three replicates and five trees in the plot, in the period from 2009-2015, in a rainfed cultivation. The means of the variables plant height, accumulated fruit yield, fruit yield efficiency, total soluble solids concentration, juice yield, and drought-tolerance were used to calculate the following indices: multiplicative index (IEi), sum of classification (IMMi), genotype-ideotype distance (DiI), and ranking indices (IRKi, based on simple means; and IRKii, based on linear normalization). The indices were efficient to classify the hybrids in relation to general performance. Spearman’s correlation showed a high similarity between most nonparametric indices, notably between IRKi and IRKii. The ranking indices, mainly IRKii, provide a more coherent classification of the hybrids, which allows of the selection of more productive and drought-tolerant rootstocks to produce high-quality fruit for processing.

Pretende-se refletir acerca do momento vivenciado no Brasil, entendendo-o como sintoma da Contemporaneidade, pensando práticas e discursos sociais que tensionam-se e rearticulam-se a todo instante. A desconstrução de fatos históricos e a refutação de eventos científicos são alguns dos exemplos que perseguimos nesta reflexão, indagando-nos acerca dos modelos educativos e os modos de ver a História, que estabelecem relações diretas com os aspectos de exclusão social e com as formações subjetivas. Nesse sentido, a verdade parece perder sua posição privilegiada e ocupar, com certa fragilidade, um lugar baseado na crença na figura do sujeito moderno. Nos coube propor novos olhares aos campos do saber, convocando-nos a pensar a educação para diversidade como perspectiva indispensável ao enfrentamento da ascensão da barbárie social.

Abstract The production of mandarins is incipient in Northeastern Brazil in spite of the large regional market. Few studies have reported the performance of mandarins under the tropical conditions in Brazil, considering that, in general, the quality and yield of these fruits are more expressive in regions of subtropical and Mediterranean climates. In this work, tree size, fruit production and quality of four mandarin hybrids (‘Piemonte’ mandarin-tangor, ‘Murcott’ tangor and ‘Page’ and ‘Nova’ tangelo-mandarin) grafted on ‘Rangpur’ lime rootstock in Umbaúba, State of Sergipe, Brazil, were evaluated. The experimental design was randomized blocks with three replicates and three trees per plot. Planting was carried out in 2008 at tree spacing of 6.0 x 3.0 m in rainfed cultivation system. ‘Piemonte’ mandarin-tangor was more productive than ‘Murcott’ tangor and ‘Nova’ and ‘Page’ tangelo-mandarin, under the conditions evaluated in Umbaúba up to the eleventh year after planting. Regarding fruit quality, ‘Piemonte’ mandarin-tangor and ‘Page’ tangelo-mandarin can be indicated both for fresh consumption and for processing due to their higher total soluble solids, ratio and vitamin C content in relation to ‘Murcott’ tangor.

Goal: The purpose of this article is to encourage discussion on the basic structuring of a logistics performance assessment system, as well as the challenges and opportunities identified in the development and implementation of new proposals. Design / Methodology / Approach: A systematic literature review was adopted as a research strategy, based on a protocol adapted to the theme of this research. The bases searched were Scopus, Web of Science, Scielo and Science Direct. Results: It was possible to identify a basic structure for the elaboration of a logistic performance evaluation system. In addition, a number of opportunities for developing the theme were observed, as well as the respective challenges to be overcome. Limitations of the investigation: One of the limitations found was that the databases chosen did not always have articles available in their entirety, five of them were not available. Practical implications: It is believed that this research can serve as a reference for researchers who are interested in proposing performance evaluation systems in the context of logistics, contributing to an initial understanding of its structure and highlighting the possible implementation challenges. Originality / Value: According to the bases surveyed, this is the first survey that sought to identify the structure of the logistic performance assessment systems with a focus on business logistics.

A exposição ao material particulado fino (MP2,5) está associada a inúmeros desfechos à saúde. Desta forma, monitoramento da concentração ambiental do MP2,5 é importante, especialmente em áreas amplamente industrializadas, pois abrigam potenciais emissores do MP2,5 e de substâncias com potencial de aumentar a toxicidade de partículas já suspensas. O objetivo desta pesquisa é estimar a concentração diária do MP2,5 em três áreas de influência do Complexo Industrial e Portuário do Pecém (CIPP), Ceará, Brasil. Foi aplicado um modelo de regressão não linear para a estimativa do MP2,5, por meio de dados de profundidade óptica monitorados por satélite. As estimativas foram realizadas em três áreas de influência (Ai) do CIPP (São Gonçalo do Amarante - Ai I, Paracuru e Paraipaba - Ai II e Caucaia - Ai III, no período de 2006 a 2017. As médias anuais das concentrações estimadas foram inferiores ao estabelecido pela legislação nacional em todas as Ai (8µg m-3). Em todas as Ai, os meses referentes ao período de seca (setembro a fevereiro) apresentaram as maiores concentrações e uma predominância de ventos leste para oeste. Os meses que compreendem o período de chuva (março a agosto) apresentaram as menores concentrações e ventos menos definidos. As condições meteorológicas podem exercer um papel importante nos processos de remoção, dispersão ou manutenção das concentrações do material particulado na região. Mesmo com baixas concentrações estimadas, é importante avaliar a constituição das partículas finas dessa região, bem como sua possível associação a efeitos adversos à saúde da população local.

Chromoblastomycosis (CBM) is a chronic worldwide subcutaneous mycosis, caused by several dimorphic, pigmented dematiaceous fungi. It is difficult to treat patients with the disease, mainly because of its recalcitrant nature. The correct activation of host immune response is critical to avoid fungal persistence in the tissue and disease chronification. CD4+ T cells are crucial for the development of protective immunity to F. pedrosoi infection. Here, we investigated T helper cell response dynamics during experimental CBM. Following footpad injection with F. pedrosoi hyphae and conidia, T cells were skewed towards a Th17 and Th1 phenotype. The Th17 population was the main Th cell subset found in the infected area during the early stages of experimental murine CBM, followed by Th1 predominance in the later stages, coinciding with the remission phase of the disease in this experimental model. Depletion of CD25+ cells, which leads to a reduction of Treg cells in the draining lymph node, resulted in decline in fungal burden after 14 days of infection. However, fungal cells were not cleared in the later stages of the disease, prolonging CBM clinical features in those animals. IL-17A and IFN-γ neutralization hindered fungal cell elimination in the course of the disease. Similarly, in dectin-2 KO animals, Th17 contraction in the course of experimental CBM was accompanied by fungal burden decrease in the first 14 days of infection, although it did not affect disease resolution. In this study, we gained insight into T helper subsets' dynamics following footpad injections of F. pedrosoi propagules and uncovered their contribution to disease resolution. The Th17 population proved to be important in eliminating fungal cells in the early stages of infection. The Th1 population, in turn, closely assisted by Treg cells, proved to be relevant not only in the elimination of fungal cells at the beginning of infection but also essential for their complete elimination in later stages of the disease in a mouse experimental model of CBM.

El presente trabajo pretende comprender el proceso de estratificación material de las jerarquías internacionales a través de la dinámica de socialización, que interrelaciona las estructuras políticas y económicas de diferenciación en las relaciones interestatales. El estudio del nexo entre la política y la economía no es novedoso en las Relaciones Internacionales. Sin embargo, la literatura teórica de la disciplina carece de una comprensión de las estructuras políticas y económicas de modo independiente, sin reducir unas a las otras. Para completar esta laguna, este artículo reinterpreta el realismo estructural a la luz del reciente debate sobre la concepción sociológica de las estructuras como subsistemas de diferenciación entre actores de un determinado sistema social. El marco conceptual de la teoría de la diferenciación estructural es utilizado como lenguaje para entender y caracterizar la socialización configurada entre estructuras asimétricas, tales como las de naturaleza política y económica. Así, se discuten los nexos que emergen de las transacciones sociales internacionales de naturaleza política y económica considerando su papel en la constitución del sistema de estados contemporáneo y sus efectos estructurantes sobre el sistema internacional.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of red Light Emiting Diode (red LED) irradiation on fibroblasts in adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ASC) co-culture on the scratch assay. We hypothesized that red LED irradiation could stimulate paracrine secretion of ASC, contributing to the activation of genes and molecules involved in cell migration and tissue repair. ASC were co-cultured with NIH/3T3 fibroblasts through direct contact and subjected to red LED irradiation (1.45 J/cm2/5min6s) after the scratch assay, during 4 days. Four groups were established: fibroblasts (F), fibroblasts + LED (FL), fibroblasts + ASC (FC) and fibroblasts + LED + ASC (FLC). The analyzes were based on Ctgf and Reck expression, quantification of collagen types I and III, tenomodulin, VEGF, TGF-β1, MMP-2 and MMP-9, as well as viability analysis and cell migration. Higher Ctgf expression was observed in FC compared to F. Group FC presented higher amount of tenomodulin and VEGF in relation to the other groups. In the cell migration analysis, a higher number of cells was observed in the scratched area of the FC group on the 4th day. There were no differences between groups considering cell viability, Reck expression, amount of collagen types I and III, MMP-2 and TGF-β1, whereas TGF-β1 was not detected in the FC group and the MMP-9 in none of the groups. Our hypothesis was not supported by the results because the red LED irradiation decreased the healing response of ASC. An inhibitory effect of the LED irradiation associated with ASC co-culture was observed with reduction of the amount of TGF-β1, VEGF and tenomodulin, possibly involved in the reduced cell migration. In turn, the ASC alone seem to have modulated fibroblast behavior by increasing Ctgf, VEGF and tenomodulin, leading to greater cell migration. In conclusion, red LED and ASC therapy can have independent effects on fibroblast wound healing, but the combination of both does not have a synergistic effect. Therefore, future studies with other parameters of red LED associated with ASC should be tested aiming clinical application for tissue repair.
