Presentamos dos casos de prótesis Articulares Infectadas atendidos en el C.M.N entre 1990-1991. CASO 1 : MGA 68a, mujer, con coxartrosis IV, se le efectuó artroplastía con prótesis no-cementada. Desde P09 evidencia sígnos flogósicos, fiebre ondulante. Ex. Auxiliares: Hemograma:N Hemocultivos:Neg. Urocultivo:Neg. Rx. Torax:N. Rx Pelvis: Zonas osteolíticas en región del trocanter mayor que se propaga hacia canal medular. Cultivo de punción-aspiración de herida operatoria Pseudomona au. Tratamiento:Ciprofloxacina. Alta voluntaria. CASO 2 : AAL 78a, mujer, sometida a artroplastía en 1989 por coxartrosis IV derecha. Un año después inicia con dolor en coxoíemoral derecha,Cebrículas y flogósis en región trocantérea.Ex. Aux:Hemograma: N, Rx pelvis: erosiones y periostitis.Tratamiento inicial Cue remoción de prótesis, lavado y reimplante de la misma prótesis, 6 meses después desarrolla f'astula sometiéndosele a cura quirúrgica de osteomielitis e irrigación continua. Cultivo de secreción de lecho operatorio: Acinetobacter. Los casos descritos tuvieron diferentes mecanismos de infección de partes blandas que por contiguidad contaminó la prótesis y el segundo caso una infección a distancia con bacteremia y posterior colonización en prótesis.

Palm fat has uniquely optimal melting characteristics that are difficult to replace in products such as baked goods and chocolate-based items. This study investigates the efficacy of using Pickering emulsions derived from Swiss plant oils and their micromilled press cakes. Emulsification was carried out at both the lab and pilot scales using sunflower- and rapeseed-based recipes, with and without additional surfactants, for both oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions. The resulting emulsions were measured for viscosity and short- and long-term stability and linked to the properties of the raw materials. The results indicated that the contact angle, size, and macronutrient composition of the particles significantly impact emulsion quality, though differences in oil pressing methods might predominate these effects. The combination of particles and surfactants demonstrated a clear advantage with respect to interface stabilisation, with a suggested link between the wax content of the oil and particles and the resulting emulsion quality and stability.

This study aims to analyze the mediation effect of subjective norms and perceived behavioral control on the linkage between online consumer attitude and online purchase decisions of generation X, generation Y (millennials), and generation Z (centennials) in developing countries, particularly Peru. This empirical investigation surveyed 121 respondents of generation X, 200 millennials, and 200 centennials in Peru. The data were processed through structural equation modeling approach. This study demonstrates that online consumer attitude positively and significantly influences online purchase decisions; this relationship is enhanced through the mediation effect of subjective norms and perceived behavioral control. Furthermore, the results indicate that the effect of the proposed variables is improved progressively in each generation, showing a greater willingness of centennials to purchase online, followed by millennials and generation X. This study assessed online consumer attitudes of different generations in Peru toward the online purchase decisions and the mediation effect of subjective norms and perceived behavior control on the mentioned relationship, which showed improved results when incorporated into a single model. Intellectual capital refers to the set of intangible assets that create competitiveness in public and private organizations and has a strategically significant role concerning resources, capacities and organizational performance. However, the academic output on intellectual capital in public administration is limited. The present study was conducted in public organizations in Tamaulipas, Mexico, and Arequipa, Peru; both countries are developing economies. The aim was to analyze the effects of human and structural capital on performance in public administration. A total of 502 questionnaires were administered to public employees in the two countries, using the neural networks technique and structural equation modeling. We found that human capital positively impacted organizational performance, and this relationship was mediated by structural capital. Thus, we recommend implementing structural and human capital management practices, given their role in enhancing the performance in public organizations.

The development of immune checkpoint inhibitors has revolutionized the landscape of treatment of advanced melanoma in recent years. Based on the efficacy results of the phase III CheckMate 067 trial, nivolumab in combination with ipilimumab is one of the first-line standard options for advanced melanoma along with pembrolizumab, nivolumab, and, recently, nivolumab plus relatlimab. Counterbalancing its efficacy, nivolumab plus ipilimumab is associated with severe immune-related toxicity. This article will review the efficacy and safety of the nivolumab plus ipilimumab combination in advanced melanoma across phase I, II, and III clinical trials that evaluated this approach. We also explore the benefit of the combination schedule across different subgroups of patients and possible predictive biomarkers for efficacy outcomes in order to elucidate which patients could be the best candidates for combination or single-agent therapy. Patients with BRAF-mutant tumours, asymptomatic brain metastases, or PD-L1-negative status appear to reach better survival outcomes with the combination relative to single-agent immunotherapy.

Nowadays, social media influencers are one of the most important assets of many businesses that originate purchase decisions. The relevance of this paper is determined by the fact that it tries to fill in the research gap of literature determining the factors that might influence the purchase decisions of millennial consumers based on the theories of the constructs. The purpose is to determine the impact of brand value on the credibility of influencers over the purchase decision. Therefore, 412 millennial consumers from the city of Arequipa, Peru, were surveyed through an online form provided by Google. Then, the validation and descriptive statistics were made on the program SPSS. Additionally, the inferential statistics using the software Smart PLS. The results show a positive, significant, and direct relationship between the credibility of influencers and customers’ purchase decisions. Moreover, this relationship increases through the brand value when incorporated into the model as a mediator variable, facilitating the decision of consumers. In conclusion, it was estimated that consumers feel even more confident when social media influencers transmit the message showing specific brand attributes. The current ecosystem of organisations has generated a high degree of competition amongst business actors, requiring them to develop a range of business management strategies to enhance competitiveness and sustainability. This study examined the interactive effects of innovation capability and potential absorptive capacity on a firm's innovation performance. An empirical analysis was conducted on a sample of 238 firms in cultural tourism destinations in Peru. The hypotheses were tested using the partial least squares statistical method. The results reveal the positive effect of the interaction between innovation capability and potential absorptive capacity on innovation performance. Our findings expand the theoretical background to the interactive effects of dynamic capabilities in promoting innovation, while the practical contribution will be useful in developing strategies, especially for companies located in cultural tourism destinations.
