8th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion; 313-315, The aim of this work is the study of the degradation of two different PSCs. A PSC with undoped SnO2 ETL was compared to a PSC with ETL made of G-SnO2. Degradation was monitored by performing both impedance spectroscopy and dark I-V measurements. Experimental data were collected just immediately after fabrication and after one week. It was observed that the degradation of the solar cells affects both the AC behavior of the devices, modifying associated Nyquist plots, and the DC behavior, observable from dark current-voltage curves. From the Nyquist plots a quantitative analysis was performed by comparing the parameters of a proper equivalent circuit model. Results were coherent with those achieved with DC analysis, thus providing that the arising from these two techniques allows to gain a deeper knowledge of the degradation phenomena.

Interconnected network of nanostructured polyaniline (PANI) is giving strong potential for enhancing device performances than bulk PANI counterparts. For nanostructured device processing, the main challenge is to get prototypes on large area by requiring precision, low cost and high rate assembly. Among processes meeting these requests, the alternate current electric fields are often used for nanostructure assembling. For the first time, we show the assembly of nanostructured PANI onto large electrode gaps (30-60 μm width) by applying alternate current electric fields, at low frequencies, to PANI particles dispersed in acetonitrile (ACN). An important advantage is the short assembly time, limited to 5-10 s, although electrode gaps are microsized. That encouraging result is due to a combination of forces, such as dielectrophoresis (DEP), induced-charge electrokinetic (ICEK) flow and alternate current electroosmotic (ACEO) flow, which speed up the assembly process when low frequencies and large electrode gaps are used. The main achievement of the present study is the development of ammonia sensors created by direct assembling of nanostructured PANI onto electrodes. Sensors exhibit high sensitivity to low gas concentrations as well as excellent reversibility at room temperature, even after storage in air. © 2015 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.

Drinking water treatment is needed for providing water that is safe from disease-causing pathogenic microorganisms. Chlorine is widely used as a disinfectant in drinking water systems, although the main disadvantages are the decay of its concentration along the pipes and the formation of undesirable by-products (DBPs). In this research work, the chlorine decay process has been investigated along a real water distribution system, the Santa Sofia aqueduct (Campania, Southern Italy), by an innovative modeling approach. The adopted hydraulic and water quality models have been calibrated on live data (the physical/chemical characteristics of the drinking water) and gathered continuously by a wireless network of multi-parametric probes distributed along the Santa Sofia aqueduct. The residual chlorine concentrations throughout the Santa Sofia network, predicted by hydraulic and water quality models calibrated on the same aqueduct, may be considered reliable. © 2014 Springer International Publishing Switzerland.

31st European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 1130-1133, Sequential deposition (spin coating and dipping) of CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite films was applied on commercial fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) covered with mesoporous TiO2, with different thickness, under open-air conditions and high relative humidity (above 60%). In these extreme conditions, all working parameters, such as spinning rate, dipping time, heating and rinsing procedure are critical. Substrate coverage and surface morphology were investigated by scanning electron microscopy imaging and cross sections were milled by focused ion beam in order to evaluate the thickness of the perovskite films. Solar cells were completed in a configuration without hole transport material by evaporating gold as back contact directly onto the perovskite surface and their photovoltaic performance was evaluated. Results show that, by using a low-boiling-point solvent like pentane in the rinsing step, it is possible to deposit uniform and stable perovskite films even under high humidity.

28th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 2005-2008, In this paper wet anisotropic texturing and subsequent smoothing of c-Si wafers, 350 and 100 μm thick, are investigated for reducing light reflection and improving light confinement within silicon substrate suitable for amorphous/ crystalline silicon heterojunction solar cells. The influence of time of the etching process used in the smoothing procedure is studied. To this aim reflectance measurements and scanning electron microscopy images are used to evaluate the surface morphology after the chemical etching.

Si tratta di un metodo per la deposizione di membrane di allumina su silicio nanostrutturato. Il principio di funzionamento sfrutta la rugosità del film di silicio e le interazioni elettrostatiche.

Si tratta di un dispositivo sensore a base di silicio nanostrutturato particolarmente adatto alla rilevazione dell'ossigeno. Il principio di funzionamento utilizza le variazione dell'intensità di fotoluminescenza in presenza di ossigeno adsorbito. La particolarità del sensore è quella di riuscire a funzionare a temperatura ambiente.
