This research aimed to provide efforts to strengthen the law if changes to regulations occur, which must be accompanied by academic and socio-political approaches. In Indonesia, there is a new form of sexual crime whether verbal, non-physical, physical, or online. The prevalence of such incidents reflects a troubling trend that needs urgent attention from both authorities and society. This research was field research, equipped with qualitative data. The data sources included observational research, interviews, and documentation as well as literature studies by reviewing documents relating to criminal sanctions for adultery, especially from the Criminal Code, outside the Criminal Code, and manuscripts of Islamic criminal law. The beneficial theory used was the Al-Būtī version, which emphasized the validity of al-‘uqūbah al-Islāmiyah. The research findings revealed that in the event of changes to criminal law in Indonesia, maslahat considerations are prioritized, particularly in cases of grave sexual crimes, the death penalty should be applied. The government must consider things such as benefits, cultural values, and societal perspectives when making criminal punishment policies. In Indonesia, several backgrounds supported the choice of the death penalty for sexual crimes. The expected benefits are community protection, preventative action, justice for victims, and the elimination of dangerous perpetrators in the future. The legal situation governing sexual crimes in Indonesia is increasingly pitiful, and a change is needed.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the interventions for retention of doctors and dentists in remote areas using the discrete choice experiment (DCE) approach.Materials and Methods: A DCE was conducted to investigate preferences of doctors and dentists for retention in remote areas. This research was conducted in 78 primary healthcare settings across 15 provinces in Indonesia. The conditional logit model was used to explore stated preferences for each attribute. Results: The total number of respondents was 158, including 113 doctors and 45 dentists. In general, doctors placed the highest preference on getting priority for government scholarships to facilitate retention in remote areas (OR=5.65, p< 0.001). Specifically, dentists preferred security guarantees from local government (OR = 4.87, p< 0.001). Both groups valued having an official residence (OR=3.6, p< 0.001) as a factor for retention in remote areas. Conclusion: Scholarship, security guarantees, housing facilities, and medical facilities were the most considered factors for retaining doctors and dentists in a remote area. This study confirms the importance of a combination of interventions in maintaining doctors and dentists in remote areas. Policy options in the form of non-financial and financial intervention packages can be combined to improve their retention. Keywords: preferences, health systems, health workers, rural area, health workforces, DCE

Background: The attention of leprosy management has shifted to reduce the burden of leprosy complications, including leprosy reactions. Leprosy reaction is the predominant cause of nerve impairment that leads to disability and lowers the quality of life of the affected. Purpose: The aim of this study was to provide primary data about leprosy reaction epidemiology, risk factor, and outcomes in the post-elimination era. Methods: A cross-sectional study was held in a general hospital in Gresik City, Indonesia, to give clinical demography, risk factors, and outcomes of leprosy reaction. Result: New leprosy reaction cases remain detected each year. There were 57 (58.8%) out of 97 leprosy patients who had a reactional episode. The incidence of leprosy reactions has been increasing in the last three years. The multibacillary (MB) group and type 2 reactions dominated leprosy reactions, which mostly occurred in the young adult population. Some of the leprosy reaction patients had developed a complication due to prolonged steroid usage. Conclusion: Leprosy cases in a young population with a high risk of developing reaction episodes need collaboration in the management to prevent deformity in youth.

Background/Aim: Emprit ginger (Zingiber officinale var. amarum) is an Indonesian natural plant with various bioactivities, including antidiabetic properties. Several studies have shown that bioactivities can be attributed to the presence of flavonoids and also melatonin which playing a role in carbohydrate metabolism and blood sugar levels regulation. Ginger also has an effect on the lipid profile in studies in experimental animals. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the in vivo antidiabetic activity of melatonin-rich extract of Emprit ginger using blood sugar and lipid profiles parameters. Methods: The study procedure comprised 30 male white rats of Wistar strain, which were divided into 5 groups. These included: I - K-: negative control; II - K+: injected with streptozotocin (STZ) - nicotinamide (NA); III - P1: given STZ-NA + 100 mg/kg body weight (BW)/day ginger extract; IV - P2: given STZ-NA + 200 mg/kg BW/day ginger extract; and V - P3: injected with STZ-NA + metformin 300 mg/kg BW/day. In addition, the treatment was carried out for a total of 21 days, followed by the measurement of random blood sugar (RBS) levels and lipid profiles. Results: The highest pre-treatment RBS, triglyceride, cholesterol, HDL and LDL levels were 426.8 ± 55.8 mg/dL (P2), 142 ± 39.8 mg/dL (P2), 130.8 ± 21.7 mg/dL (K+), 53.4 ± 4.92 mg/dL (P1) and 61.67 ± 17.69 mg/ dL (K+), respectively. The results showed that the largest decrease in RBS was obtained in P3 by 262.8 ± 70.6 mg/dL, while P2 experienced the highest decrease in triglyceride levels by 83.66 ± 52.04 mg/dL. In addition, the largest decrease in cholesterol was in P3 by 50.2 ± 26.30 mg/dL, with P1 possessing the highest reduction in HDL by 15.4 ± 15.88 mg/dL. In terms of LDL, the largest decrease was obtained in P3, 20.44 ± 16.68 mg/dL. Based on the results, changes in biochemical parameters levels between all groups showed significant differences except for HDL. Conclusion: STZ-NA injection caused an increase in RBS and cholesterol in rats. Administration of melatonin-rich ginger extract led to a decrease in RBS, cholesterol and LDL and was more effective in the group given metformin. Melatonin-rich ginger extract at a dose of 200 mg/kg BW/day was more effective in reducing triglycerides compared to other clinical parameters.

The proliferation of counterfeit vaccinations was producing significant public health problems and was related with legal issues. This article compared the sanctions imposed by Islamic criminal law and national legislation on counterfeiters and distributors of fake vaccines. Several rules and regulations control the use and distribution of vaccinations in Indonesia. In accordance with Articles 196 and 197 of Law Number 36 of 2009 on Health, the criminal act of distributing counterfeit vaccines is punishable by a maximum prison sentence of ten years and a maximum fine of one billion in IDR. As opposed to Article 197, which stipulates a maximum punishment of 15 years in prison and a maximum fine of Rp. 1,500,000,000,000. counterfeiting and distributing counterfeit vaccines are considered serious crimes in both Islamic criminal law and Jināyah. The punishment for these crimes varies depending on the severity of the offense and the harm caused to society. In both systems of law, the punishment can range from fines and imprisonment to the death penalty. It is important to note that these punishments are intended to deter individuals from engaging in these crimes and protect public health and safety. It was believed that the government would increase legislation addressing the punishment of counterfeiters and drug dealers, who can harm the Indonesian national character.

Mount Merapi, located in Indonesia, is known as one of the most active volcanoes globally, often resulting in volcanic eruptions that produce pyroclastic materials. These materials from Mount Merapi’s eruptions have the potential to influence soil fertility in areas affected by the volcanic activities. This study aims to analyze the mineralogical properties of pyroclastic materials from Mount Merapi. The methodology involves collecting pyroclastic material samples from the 2010 eruption of Mount Merapi, followed by analysis using various mineralogical techniques such as polarized microscopy, X-ray diffraction, petrographic analysis, and wet chemical analysis. The findings offer detailed insights into the mineral composition, types of clay minerals, overall elemental presence, and the rock types forming these minerals in the pyroclastic materials. Variations in mineral composition are observed in the pyroclastic materials from Mount Merapi. Predominant minerals, including the plagioclase, pyroxene, and hornblende groups, are distinctly identified. These minerals’ presence suggests their susceptibility to weathering, categorized as easily weatherable minerals. This tendency for weathering is shown by the presence of elements like Na, Ca, and Mg in these minerals, which are crucial macro-nutrients for plant growth.

Soil characteristics in ex-coal mining areas can be influenced by reclamation methods and the type and age of revegetation plants used. This reclamation can also significantly impact the soil chemistry of ex-mining areas. This research was conducted in ex-coal mining areas located in Parambahan, Batu Tanjung Village, Talawi District, Sawahlunto City, West Sumatra Province. The objective of this study is to analyze variations in the reclamation process and their effects on the chemical properties of soil in these areas. Observations were made in several plots, including land that had not been mined (natural forest), land revegetated with Acacia in the planting years of 1992, 2007, 2010 (without the use of topsoil), 2019, and 2021, and land revegetated with Sengon in 2022. In each plot, soil samples were collected at three depths: 0–5 cm, 5–10 cm, and 10–20 cm, to analyze soil chemical properties. These properties included pH, total nitrogen (N), available phosphorus (P), organic carbon (C), exchangeable base cations (K, Ca, Mg, and Na), cation exchange capacity, and exchangeable aluminum (Al). The results showed that variations in the years of revegetation and reclamation practices, such as the use of topsoil and plant types, significantly influenced soil chemical characteristics. The longer the period of revegetation, the better the improvement in the soil’s chemical properties, as indicated by changes in pH, total N, organic C, exchangeable K, Na, Ca, and Mg, cation exchange capacity, and a reduction in exchangeable Al. However, the availability of P, as indicated by available P, decreased after more than 30 years of revegetation.

The eruption of Mount Merapi has had a negative impact on the community; however, on the other hand, it also has positive aspects that cannot be ignored. One of the major benefits associated with the eruption of this mountain is its ability to fertilize and restore the quality of the surrounding soil. This process of soil restoration involves the use of volcanic materials resulting from the eruption, specifically known as rejuvination or soil rejuvenation. In the concept of soil rejuvenation, pyroclastic materials play an important role due to their nutrient-rich content. These pyroclastic materials consist of various types of rocks and minerals, which have great potential to make a positive contribution in providing nutrients needed by plants. Based on the results of X-Ray diffraction analysis, the pyroclastic material from Mount Merapi is dominated by the mineral Albite, accounting for 81.3%. This mineral has the property of being easily weathered and susceptible to weathering agents. Volcanic materials from Mount Merapi can be utilized as agrominerals, this concept involves using volcanic material as a source of nutrients for plants since it contains both macro and micro nutrients required by plants.

Universal access to safe and adequate sanitation is a critical public health and environmental issue, particularly in low-income urban areas. The Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) approach seeks to address the challenge of meeting the universal access to sanitation for all, including the most vulnerable groups. The six key criteria in CWIS are: (1) equity; (2) safety; (3) sustainability; (4) responsibility; (5) accountability; and (6) Resource Planning and Management. This study aimed to develop and validate survey instruments for CWIS measurement in urban areas of Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). First, we specified the domains based on the six CWIS criteria by, adding the vulnerability criterion to the equation. We developed candidate items for each domain by reviewing the relevant literature. Face validity was determined through cognitive interviews, and content validity was determined through the evaluation of two experts. We added, removed, merged, and rephrased items based on the results of cognitive interviews and feedback from subject matter experts. We piloted the instrument and conducted statistical analysis to ensure the validity and reliability of the ‘scales and indices. The CWIS survey modules address a recognized need for greater emphasis on inclusive sanitation. We provide researchers and policymakers with tools to measure CWIS sub-constructs in a valid and reliable manner to generate data for improved targeting, design, implementation, and evaluation of strategies to improve sanitation access for vulnerable and marginalized urban citizens.

Islamic law grows in Indonesia and is formulated in four legal thought products, namely fiqh, jurisprudence, law, and fatwa. The problematic Application of Legal Products is more related to the internal aspects of Muslims, who are less dynamic and pay less attention to the developing problem. Therefore, a huge difference occurs between static Islamic and dynamic western legal products using a normative approach. The results showed that Islamic legal products resulted from the work of ijtihad, fiqh, and Islamic law experts. Each Islamic legal product has characteristics and particularities, and the application implicitly raises problems. However, Islamic legal products have been applied explicitly as the law regulates. The products have reliable binding power through a fatwa, judges’ decisions, and critical reviews have increased diversity awareness. The results of the fatwa provided many legal answers to the problems, and the establishment of Religious Courts facilitates justice seekers in solving legal issues. The position of legalized Islamic law is strengthened, and a more profound elaboration is needed to analyze the polarization of product authority.

Purpose: convergence occurs when regions with poor economies tend to grow faster than regions with rich economies, so poorer regions tend to catch up with rich regions in terms of GRDP or per capita products. The concept of convergence is dividedinto3 (three) namely sigma convergence, absolute convergence, and conditional convergence. This study focuses on analyzing the trend of convergence based on the approach to the concept of convergence with a concern for analysis, namely stochastic convergence. Methods: the analysis of convergence using a stochastic approach and a sigma and beta convergence approach for each province on the island ofSumatraduringthe2011–2020 periods. This research data uses secondary data with a combination of time-series data and cross-sectional data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency, the Ministry of Finance, and the Investment Coordinating Board. Calculation of beta convergence is based on the equation model developed by Barro and Sala-I-Martin (1990) and stochastic convergence based on the measurement model by Ludlow and Enders (2000).Results: the finding from this study shows that there is a stochastic convergence in all provinces on the island of Sumatra which is described based on the Sumatra. The economy has proven Beta convergence which explains the convergence with a relatively low rate of convergence, but the addition of determinant variables such as Domestic Investment and government spending has an impact on increasing the rate of convergence in the island of Sumatra. Conclusions and Relevance: the recommendation for further research emphasizes the spatial interaction between regions because the stochastic stocked test has not been able to see the interdependence between regions that causes convergence.

This study aimed to investigate the production, inflow and outflow, maldistribution and inefficiencies, and private sector regulations of the nursing labor market in Indonesia.Patients and Methods: This study used descriptive qualitative and document analysis approaches via focus group discussion (FGD) among various stakeholders in Indonesia. The FGD was conducted once attended by representatives from various sectors, including health, education, manpower, professional associations, and private. Policies on training, inflow and outflow, maldistribution and efficiencies, and private sector regulation were analyzed. Document analysis was used to triangulate the qualitative data. Results: There is a structured policy regarding production, inflow and outflow, distribution, and involvement of the private sector. The number of nursing production shows an excess when entering the labor markets; however, the health-care providers reported a nursing workforce shortage. Policies on outflow encourage the deployment of Indonesian nurses overseas despite various challenges. Private sector involvement cannot be denied, especially in the placement of Indonesian nurses abroad. In addition, there is an absence of an integrated nursing labor market platform which may lead to inaccurate supply and demand. Conclusion: Establishing an integrated and comprehensive platform of the nursing labor market in Indonesia is imperative. Addressing the surplus and shortage of nursing workforce requires reliable data to inform the policy. These analyses highlight the need to understand how the existing environment affects the market for Indonesian nurses nationally and globally. Keywords: health worker, Indonesian nurses, nursing policy, nursing workforce, nurse migration, nursing education

ta’aqquli ,ta’abbudi ,hukum Islam ,Islamic law ,KBP1-4860 ,Law in general. Comparative and uniform law. Jurisprudence ,K1-7720 - Abstract

- Abstract
High-order cognitive skills (HOCS) are required to solve problems and make decisions. ARVi or augmented reality virus is a learning medium used to enhance HOCS. Aims of this research is to find out the effect of implementing ARVi media on enhancing high-level cognitive skills of students. The research is a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research was conducted in MAN 1 Kota Bogor class 10 using the Merdeka curriculum. The research instrument is a multiple-choice test that has been validated to measure high-level cognitive skills. The result of the t-test shows t-value (3.14) > t-table (1.98), indicating that there is a significant difference between the posttest scores of the control group and the experimental group. This means that the use of ARVi media has an effect on high-level cognitive skills. The improvement in high-level cognitive skills was continuous in C5 (evaluation) at 78%, C6 (creation) at 72%, and C4 (analysis) at 70%. These results are not independent of the support provided by the various content offered by ARVi media, such as augmented reality, literacy, and high-level questionnaires. Current education can benefit from technologies like ARVi media that help increase the high-level cognitive skills of students.

- Abstract
The waning interest of students in science became a global concern. The purpose of this research was to translate, adapt, and validate the My Attitude toward Science [MATS] questionnaire instrument, which was used to measure students' attitudes toward science in the Indonesian context. We also investigated the items that contributed to gender and academic level differences in responses. To analyze the psychometric properties of the instrument, 223 students participated in the four-dimensional Indonesian variant of the MATS instrument. The unidimensionality and model fit of the four dimensions of the questionnaire were evaluated using Rasch analysis. In general, In general, the MATS instrument has been confirmed as multidimensional, attaining a configuration of three dimensions through the amalgamation of two previously distinct dimensions. The reliability of the instruments was quite good, but the reliability of the instruments in the expectation and perception toward scientist dimensions is still relatively low. The questionnaire was incapable of distinguishing between students with positive and negative expectation and perception toward scientist. The range of MNSQ values for all three dimensions was approximately 0.73 to 1.55. In the gender based DIF analysis, two items were identified: MATS 14 (-0.68) and MATS 21 (-0.75). In the meantime, each class responded differently to one or more items based on their academic level. In conclusion, this study concluded by recommending the simplification of the scale used to assess the expectation and perception toward science dimensions. It is anticipated that the Indonesian version of the MATS instrument will aid educators, researchers, and policymakers in obtaining valid and dependable data regarding student attitudes toward science. The implications and future studies on masculinity, oldscientists, and lower ATS in early high school classes have been discussed.
