Projekt posiada stronę internetową, na której znajdują się informacje na temat badań, osób zaangażowanych oraz udostępnione wyniki badań: www.gender-podreczniki.amu.edu.pl. Publikacja stanowi podsumowanie badań zrealizowanych w ramach projektu badawczego „Gender w podręcznikach”. Celem projektu była rekonstrukcja i krytyczna analiza zawartości polskich podręczników oraz treści podstaw programowych pod kątem prezentowanych i promowanych w nich wzorców i idei dotyczących kobiecości, męskości oraz relacji między dziewczynkami/kobietami i chłopcami/mężczyznami. Zawarte w poszczególnych tomach analizy i studia przypadków stanowią wieloaspektową diagnozę, wskazującą zarówno pozytywne praktyki, jak i obszary, w których konieczne są zmiany w kierunku równościowej, demokratycznej i antydyskryminacyjnej edukacji. Analizą ilościową i jakościową objęto 25%, czyli 227 z 879 podręczników dopuszczonych przez MEN w 2013 roku do użytku szkolnego i przeznaczonych do kształcenia ogólnego w zakresie 28 przedmiotów, na wszystkich poziomach w różnych typach szkół, zgodnie z podstawą programową na dzień 01.10.2013. Analizie jakościowej poddana została również treść podstawy programowej do poszczególnych przedmiotów oraz dokumenty prawne dotyczące problematyki stereotypów i uprzedzeń związanych z płcią w edukacji szkolnej i samych podręcznikach. Raport składa się z trzech tomów. Pierwszy tom zawiera opis metodologii badań, analizy eksperckie dotyczące roli podręczników w reprodukowaniu/obalaniu stereotypów płciowych i innych aspektów edukacji w ramach przyjętych w projekcie założeń. Kolejne dwa tomy zawierają wyniki badań ilościowych i jakościowych podręczników do 27 przedmiotów, wraz z rekomendacjami, z których korzystać mogą zarówno przyszłe autorki i autorzy podręczników, ich wydawcy, recenzentki i recenzenci, osoby opracowujące podstawy programowe i materiały edukacyjne, pedagożki i pedagodzy, a także nauczycielki i nauczyciele. Ogólnopolski projekt badawczy „GENDER W PODRĘCZNIKACH” zrealizowany został przez Interdyscyplinarne Centrum Badań Płci Kulturowej i Tożsamości Uniwersytetu im. A. Mickiewicza w Poznaniu we współpracy z Fundacją Feminoteka w ramach projektu „Kobiety i mężczyźni, chłopcy i dziewczęta RAZEM przeciwko stereotypom płciowym” realizowanego w ramach Programu Obywatele dla Demokracji finansowanego z Funduszy EOG.

This essay is an attempt to revisit the chosen powerful pedagogical theories with the lenses provided by feminist educational theories and practice. It is proposed to acknowledge the limitations in the thoughts of John Dewey and of Paulo Freire and to consider the issues they ignored or distorted.It is argued that the assumptions behind Dewey’s progressivism are highly gendered. They include a construct of the teacher as being known for her facilitative and nurturing approaches rather than as a positive authority figure; a construct of child as an active, seeking subject; and an image of boys as fitting this construct of a child and girls as docile and dutiful. Freire’s work includes the conflicts that emerge from specificity of oppression, the internal contradictions of political projects or the ambiguities of history. These conflicts are hidden in Freirean abstractions. Finally, it is argued that gender relations and women’s position within the educational system remain undertheorized in both Deweyan and Freirean theories. Der Beitrag analysiert die Geschlechterverhältnisse zur Zeit des systempolitischen Wandels in Polen auf zwei Diskursebenen: der Medienebene (Tagesschauberichte der wichtigsten Sender) und der Erfahrungsebene von Frauen und Männern aus unterschiedlichen Generationen. Die ausgewählten Beispiele dafür sind zwei zentrale Events: Die „Manifa“ (Abkürzung von „manifestacja“; ähnlich dem deutschen „Demo“), eine jährlich von Feministinnen am Sonntag vor dem 8. März veranstaltete Demonstration, und der „Frauentag“, der im öffentlichen Diskurs als „vom Kommunismus verseuchtes Fest“ gilt. Die beiden Ereignisse symbolisieren zwei konkurrierende Formen, wie im öffentlichen Raum und in den Medien über Frauen gesprochen wird (Godzic 1999; Graff 2005). Hintergrund der „Manifa“ sind die Forderungen nach Freiheit und mehr Rechten für Frauen, die Feiern zum 8. März hingegen stehen im Zeichen der traditionellen polnischen Verehrung von Frauen (Mythos der Mutter-Polin). “Manifa” and International Women’s Day in the media and awareness of generation groups This article aims to analyze post-transformation (post-1989) changes in gender relations in Poland in two areas: the media (TV), and the experience of women and men of different generations. The focus is on two events: “Manifa” [Manifestation] (organized on the Sunday before 8 March each year since 2000) and International Women’s Day (“contaminated” with communism, but still celebrated in private). These events, and particularly the way they are dealt with in the media, indicate that the public area (public discourse) includes two competitive discourses on women: a new discourse of rights and freedom, and the old, traditional discourse of adoration.

The article presents conceptions of learning among students and teachers at two European universities, in Linköping (Sweden) and Gdansk (Poland). The research was conducted along the principles of phenomenography by two teams working simultaneously on their respective samples. The strategy of sampling and interviewing, as well as the rules of interpretation, were discussed and kept as similar as possible by both teams. In some cases a procedure of cross-interpretation was applied, another tested i.e. the categories identified by one team as possibly applicable to their own empirical material. The analysis of the Swedish material yielded three different categories describing the conceptions of learning among teachers and students: Learning as change, as completion, and as contextualisation. There is a potential conflict between teachers’ and students’ perspectives in that the students emphasise the relevance for the coming profession, while teachers hold a more academic conception of the nature of learning and the driving forces for learning. In the Polish sample, four categories of learning were discerned: learning as an instrument, as change, as acquisition of knowledge, and as a natural (biological) disposition. In the Polish material a clear distinction between two different milieus for learning, those of institutions and of “real life situations’, has been spotted as critical to the understanding of the nature of learning. The comparative analysis of the outcome of the phenomenographic analyses aims at identifying hypothetical factors of cultural difference that could have influenced both outcome spaces. However, this part merely sketches the issue. The present report is part of a broader project aiming at analysing the conceptions of learning, knowledge, teaching and assessment, and a more complete comparative analysis will only be possible after all the parts are presented.
