Recent development focused on the formulation and evaluation of floating microspheres. The sustained release drug delivery system was more popular in this time. This delivery system having a longer residence time in stomach and reduce risk of dose dumping. The aim of present study is to develop and evaluate the floating microspheres of Cephalexin by using natural and synthetic polymers in different ratio, which after oral administration could increase gastric residence and enhance the bioavailability of the by sustained release and decrease the dose dumping and improve patient compliance. Using the natural polymer (Xanthum gum and Guar gum) the side effect of synthetic polymer is reduced and more effective floating capability according to invitro buoyancy experiment. The floating microspheres were prepared by Ionotropic gelation method. Formulation F2 showed maximum drug release and drug dissolution. From the obtained result, it was concluded that the drug release from the floating microspheres matrix was controlled by polymer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Solubility is a critical element in pharmacological efficacy of drug regardless of the method of administration. The nanosuspension technology can improve the drug's solubility and bioavailability. The fact that many newly discovered drugs are water insoluble and thus show poor absorption and bioavailablity. These low solubility drugs can now be administered using nanosuspension formulation. Commercially available technologies such as high pressure homogenization, media milling, emulsification, and melt emulsification are frequently used to make nanosuspensions. Post-processing techniques such as solidification and surface modification are utilized to provide certain features to advanced therapies. Drugs like Itraconazole, Simvastatin, and Carbamazepine, which are poorly soluble in both aqueous and nonaqueous environments and are categorized as BCS class II make the issue even more complicated. Formulation as a nanosuspension is an appealing and promising solution to these issues. Present study deals with the In vitro Anti oxidant activity of hydro alcoholic extract of Origanum vulgare commonly known as oregano belongs to the family Lamiaceae. Hydro alcoholic extract of Origanum vulgare was subjected to In vitro antioxidant activity screening models such as DPPH, ABTS radical scavenging activity, inhibition of Lipid peroxidation where Gallic acid, Butylated Hydroxy Toulene (BHT) and Ascorbic acid were used as the standards. In all the models studied, hydro alcoholic extract of Origanum vulgare showed nearly equal activities to Standards used. Introduction: The main objective of the present investigation was to formulate micro particles of the Syzygiumcumini seeds extract and its evaluate its antioxidant activity. Material and methods: Extraction of crude drug was done using Solvent Extraction technique evaporation method.The extract-loaded microspheres using biological macromolecule ethyl cellulose (EC) was prepared by o/w emulsion solvent evaporation technique using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) emulsifier. The formulated microspheres were evaluated for its entrapment efficiency, drug release, Chromatographic analysis, Total Phenolic and flavonoid content and Antioxidant activity by DPPH Model. Result and Discussion: Microparticles formulated showed good results of drug release and entrapment efficiency. Phenolics and flavonoid have been proved to be responsible for the antioxidant activity of various medicinal plants reported earlier. In this study Hydroalcoholic extracts of Bixa Orellena was tested against Candida Albicans strain of Fungal. Seeds of Bixa orellena was collected from herbal garden of Acropolis Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Indore and were identified according to their macroscopic and microscopic characters. Hydro alcoholic extract of seeds was prepared using soxhlet method which was further subjected for Phyochemical Screening and quantitative estimation of flavonoids, tannins and total phenolics was determined and its antifungal activity was evaluated using Potato Dextrose medium. Assay for in-vitro antifungal activity was also carried out and the Hydroalcoholic seed extract of Bixa Orellana showed considerable anti-fungal activity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
