This thesis is a study in the relationship between truth and reality in documentaries. There’s a common understanding, that a documentary is a reproduction of reality. But what part does the truth play if not only for the understanding, but also the interpretation? A documentary should be observing and facilitating knowledge and you should both as director and viewer act like a fly on the wall to not disturb the story being told. The genre has developed through time and today there’s still not a clear definition of, what documentaries really is. The concept of documentaries is no longer only the classic definition, it’s so much more. And that is why reality and truth have to combine in a new relationship. In order to clarify the two definitions, we are taking a closer look at the documentaries Testamentet and Blekingegadebanden. Both of which illustrates their relation to reality. The two directors provide us in two separately interviews, with details on the making of the films. They’ve presented and defended their choices and in that manner shown us their truth. These statements are compared to the interpretations of the selected audience. And thereby we have been able to identify, whether there is a match or not. Four viewers have watched to two documentaries, and in eight interviews contributed with their point of views and considerations, which the directors may not necessarily have been paying attention to. It has given us an interesting discussion of the importance of the semiotic signs and symbols. A theory we’ve used as an analytic tool, in order to not only identify, but also interpret the two documentaries relations to reality. The semiotic approach has provided us with a part of the answer. The question is, whether the development of the genre has created a new kind of truth and a different interpretation of reality. In this Master Thesis a study is conducted to determine how multisensory sense stimulation can influence the learning and experience of museum visitors. For this study the qualitative method has been selected and carried out through an explorative observational case study of the M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark. The case is analysed through the use of newer theories in the field of learning and experience design in which multisensory stimulation is the focus. The BE-Model and the ten criteria for optimal experience design are used for the analysis. The results of the study is contextualized and put in to perspective in a discussion of the relevant problems the results reveal. Herein, about and how multisensory sense stimulations can be incorporated in the exhibitions of modern museums and how they can optimize the level of learning through change, wonder and transformation. The Thesis concludes that the experience and learning of the museum visitors are positively influenced by multisensory sense stimulations, that it is necessary to incorporate all the senses in the museum exhibitions, because every individual has their own optimal individual learning method and to incorporate experience design, focused on multisensory sense stimulations, can make the museums more competitive compared to the privately funded entertainment industry.

Radioen nåede Danmark i 1920, og har inden da steget og faldet i betydning. Men selvom det ikke er et medium, der er forrest i samfundet i dag, betyder det ikke, at det er uden konsekvens. Formålet med denne opgave er at afgøre, om radiospredningsparentesen eksisterer eller ej. Det gøres ved en undersøgelse af udviklingen af tre aspekter af radioen, teknologi, institution, og indhold. Bortset fra disse bruges love om radiospredning, og en definition af radio bestemt i opgaven, til at diskutere eksistensen af parentesen., The radio reached Denmark in the 1920’s and has by then risen and fallen in importance. But even though it is not a medium that is at the front in society today, it does not mean that it is without consequence. The purpose of this assignment is to determine whether the radio broadcasting parenthesis exists or not. It is done through examination of the development of three aspects of the radio, the technology, the institution, and the content. Apart from these the laws of radio broadcasting, and a definition determined in the assignment, will be used to discuss the existence or nonexistence of the parenthesis.

Det undersøges hvordan selektion af information foregår på internettet bl.a. via en udforskning af begrebet ”gatekeeping”. Søgemaskineproducenter og andre internetaktører opererer i stigende grad med brugerprofilering og personalisering ved hjælp af datamining. Søgeresultater - og dermed den tilgængelige information - afhænger af den brugerprofil, som man bliver tildelt ud fra nogle uigennemskuelige kriterier. Der gives et historisk rids hvor samfundsudviklingen og den stigende medialiserings indflydelse analyseres. Det undersøges hvilke demokratiske implikationer der kan være ved at kommercielle søgemaskiner som Google foretager denne filtrering baseret på personlige faktorer som brugeren ikke selv er bekendt med, og dermed begrænser den lige adgang til information. Via teori samt et eksperiment undersøges hvorledes 15 respondenters søgeresultater adskiller sig fra hinanden ved søgning på samme termer i Google, og det kan konkluderes, at der er en tendens til, at der er forskel på resultaterne afhængigt af hvilken maskine der søges fra. Dernæst foretages en kvalitativ undersøgelse blandt tilfældigt udvalgte informationsspecialister, hvor det bl.a. undersøges hvilken holdning de i kraft af deres faglighed har til at den information man får adgang til, er filtreret og målrettet den enkelte bruger. Holdningerne er delte da nogen ser det som en fordel at undgå for meget ”støj” i søgeresultaterne, nogle kan se fordele og ulemper ved sagen og resten er bekymrede for en udvikling imod overvågningssamfundet. Resultaterne perspektiveres i forhold til teorierne om demokrati., This report investigates how selection of information takes place on the Internet, and the concept of "gatekeeping" is being examined. Search engine providers and other internet stakeholders increasingly operate with user profiling and personalization by means of data mining. Search results and hence the amount and quality of information available depends on the user profile for the client. This has been assigned to the client based on data collected over time, and some unknown criteria provided by the search engines. Through historical information it is examined how the increasing medialization is effecting society. The report questions the democratic implications that might occur when commercial search engines like Google makes the screening based on personal factors unfamiliar to the client thus limiting access to information. Via theory and a practical experiment it is examined how the results differ for 15 respondents when searching for the same terms in Google. Conclusion: There seems to be a tendency to a difference in results depending upon which machine the query is performed from. Next a qualitative survey among randomly selected information specialists is carried out. The specialists are told that search engine results are filtered and targeted to the individual user. Their professional opinion is then asked based on these facts. It turns out that people’s opinions are divided as some see it as an advantage avoiding too much "noise" in the search results, some can see the pros and cons, and the rest are concerned about a trend towards a surveillance society. The results are being held up against theories of democracy.

The applied approach is primarily based on: Information science, film and media studies, and comparative literature. By undertaking the design process to create the visualisation, this paper came to the following conclusion: Relations between media can be visualised by applying different scientific approaches, and creating a frame to show this. This gives new opportunities for showing new documents and contexts, and to through this connect new and old media. New technologies gives new options in regard to conveying the data visually by creating a hierarchical family as a network of relations. Jeg har iværksat et facebookprojekt med det formål at forbedre Greve Biblioteks brug af Facebook, samt at få flere likes og mere aktivitet på deres facebookside. Dette er lykkes ved hjælp af en facebookreol samt en konkurrence. Begge dele har haft til formål at manifestere facebooksiden i det fysiske rum, at bruge serendipitet til at få brugerne til at opdage den samt at skabe noget værdi på facebooksiden. Dette er lykkes og antalle af fans på deres facebookside er går fra 126 til 156 i den tid hvor projektet er kørt. Samtidigt er der kommet mere aktivitet der. Projektet er udmundet i en vejledning til videres førelse af idéerne og Greve Bibliotek vil følge denne vejledning fremover.

In this bachelor thesis, I examine why Disney animations are popular with children, specifically a group of 6 Danish children, through extensive qualitative interviews. I clarify a select number of theoretical and factual statements on the subject, written by Kirsten Drotner in her book Disney in Denmark: At vokse op med en global mediegigant (2003). By examining Drotners excerpts of her extensive interviews performed on 48 Danish children in 2003, and by drawing on the same theories of qualitative reception theory, I compare a select number of Drotners results with my own. Furthermore, I had my group of children watch two animated movies of the same story: Simba: The King Lion (1994) produced by MondoTV and The Lion King (1994), produced by Disney. By this, I supplemented Drotners original interview guide with questions regarding the two movies, and if/how/why the children (dis)liked them. All of my 6 informants preferred Disney’s Lion King as opposed to Simba: The King Lion, and from my own interviews I concluded the reasons for this, are because Disney’s Lion King is – according to the children - better drawn and contains musical elements, in the form of songs. Interestingly enough, most of the children found both stories to be equal in quality. Finally, I give a few suggestions as to how this thesis could have been done differently and in other semiotic directions.

The ongoing discussion of the direction of the library in the information society is important to the motivation behind this thesis, as it explores how new media is influencing the position of the library in our society. It draws on mediatization theory as outlined by Andreas Hepp and Stig Hjarvard in order to explain how media affects our society in general, and how this influences cultural institutions such as the library. The study involves political strategies for the development of the library in two of the Scandinavian countries, Norway and Denmark, which despite their long history of shared political and cultural background, seem to have adapted to the mediatization process somewhat differently. Through analysis of specific examples of media influence on certain library functions, differences between the two countries are explored in light of mediatization theory. Despite having the same basic objectives and many similarities in their vision for the future library, differences in how the countries are currently handling the mediatization process are founded in variations in their institutional organisation and legislation. In short, Denmark is adapting the traditional library to the market, whereas Norway is marketing the traditional library. Further, the results indicate a strengthening of the library’s function as a place for social and cultural interaction on a democratic basis with activities and events based around literature and culture. The internal library discourse is dominated by this type of argument, and although both reports support this movement, they show little progressive initiative in this regard, especially in terms of increased financial support.

Følgende opgave beskæftiger sig med i hvilket omfang, reality-tv påvirker os og vores sociale identitet i dag. Til dette formål er der udarbejdet en spørgeskemaundersøgelse, som 88 handelsskoleelever har besvaret. Undersøgelsen spørger til deres reality-tv-vaner og giver os dermed et indblik i, hvor meget reality-tv fylder i deres hverdag og bevidsthed. Med udgangspunkt i Stig Hjarvards medialiseringsteori skal vi derudover forsøge at afkode, om der er sket en medialisering af habitus. Først og fremmest slår vi i den forbindelse fast, hvad de to begreber indebærer. Dernæst skal vi forholde begreberne til reality-tv og dermed besvare, om der er en tydelig sammenhæng mellem reality-tv og medialiseringen af habitus. Til dette formål gøres også brug af undersøgelsen til at understøtte de pointer, der dukker op undervejs. Vi skal samtidigt fokusere på Riesmans gruppestyrede karaktertype og forstå, hvorfor denne er dominerende i dag, og hvordan den relaterer sig til medialiseringen af habitus. Til sidst bruger vi Giddens’ teori om udlejring af sociale systemer til abstrakte systemer og sætter naturligvis også dette i henhold til medialiseringen.

This bachelor thesis examines whether it is possible to acquire knowledge by watching cartoons. The thesis consists of three main parts. First an initial part, then a descriptive part to serve as a theoretical framework for the analysis. The third and final part of the thesis includes the analysis, discussion and conclusion. The thesis’ objects of study are an episode of the American animated sitcom South Park and the Danish cartoon Valhalla, created byPeter Madsen. To examine and analyze these objects, I have developed a communication model based on relevant film theories. This model operates with the film's sender, sender's message, the work, intended recipient and the recipient. This bachelor thesis concludes that it is possible to acquire knowledge by watching cartoons that are fictitious.

It was more a question of the boundaries having moved, so that what we once considered to be pornography is no longer seen as so. But it’s not only one way; some things which were not considered pornographic before are considered so now., We had a thesis, that the Danish media had become more and more affected by pornography over time. The main focus of this bachelor assignment is to explain and explore the concept of connectivism as a learning theory. The purpose is to outline how the development of the internet has changed how we live and communicate and how we think and learn. This is reflected in the thinking behind new e-learning stated in the learning theory Connectivsm. The theory of connectivism asserts that knowledge is distributive and not located either inside or outside the human subject. Rather it consists of a network of connections that is constantly changing and exposing. This theory of learning contrasts the traditional theories of learning and knowing that is hold to be true in the sector of education.

This business-related project module examines whether it is currently advantageous to read electronic legal literature on the iPad. This study is conducted for the law firm Bech-Bruun. This is a pilot study where ten lawyers were given a self-chosen legal e-book on their iPad in a test period of one month. Then there were conducted a qualitative interview with each respondent. The entire process is described together with different types of legal literature and the challenges of DRM protected e-books produces on a iPad. The product report contains the direct results from the survey which focused on respondents' motivation, the technique for use of e-books, and an economic aspect. It is concluded that because it is currently not possible to print DRM protected e-books on the iPad, the iPad does not work as a tool for reading legal literature.

Mange taler om ”Udkantsdanmark”, men ingen gør tilsyneladende nogetvirkningsfuldt ved det, selv om regeringen kommer med politiske udspil, ændrer lovgivningen og opfinder nye støttemuligheder i lange baner. Det er der givetvis forskellige årsager til. En kunne være, at det slet ikke er ønsket, at der gøres noget virkningsfuldt ved Udkantsdanmark. En andenkunne være, at debatgrundlaget og den præsenterede information er for ringe. Artiklen viser eksempler på kort fra den eksisterende, ikke altid konstruktive debat om Udkantsdanmark. Som modstykke hertil præsenteres i artiklen utraditionelle kort, der er designet til netop somvisual literacy at bidrage til, at der overhovedet bliver en reel debat om Udkantsdanmark & Kernedanmark.Artiklen fremlægger ikke et politisk synspunkt. Artiklen præsenterer, hvor forbløffende effektivt politiske synspunkter kan fremlægges ved at tænke og agere i visual literacy. Artiklens budskab er at fremme den konstruktive debat generelt, hvor Den Rådne Banan og kortene blot tjener som eksempel.

The National Museum contributes to securing the culture of Denmark by passing on knowledge of themes and formulation of problems of history of civilization. At the Museum a meeting takes place between the employees, exhibitions and visitors and a communication develops. This assignment concentrates of the exhibition: The history of Denmark 1660-2000. To analyse the meeting taken place in this exhibition a model of a theory of communication and Etienne Wenger’s leaningtheory are used first of all to see if the employees are succeeding in their communication then to examine the consequences of the communication for the visitors. The analyses of the qualitative interviews show that the historical survey exhibition of the National Museum is not able to be reached and understood by every visitor, despite focus on everyday life and recognition. An understanding and an identification of complex tracks, which are crossing thematically, do not develop for several of the visitors. The National Museum has high ambitions with this exhibition, but the Museum is only successful with the communication of a common cultural repertoire to a certain limit

Denne opgave omhandler danske folkebibliotekers formidling af voksentegneserier på udvalgte biblioteker i dag. Dette undersøges ved observation på bibliotekerne. Derudover ses der på lovgivningen og biblioteksudviklingens betydning i perioden 1991-2011 ud fra konkrete lovtekster samt et nyere lovforslag og tekster om biblioteksudvikling. Sluttelig forsøger opgaven at afklare, om der er sket en ændring i holdningen til tegneserier i perioden 1991-2011 ud fra interview på de udvalgte biblioteker og tekstanalyse af anmeldelser. I opgaven konkluderes at tegneserier er blevet normaliseret som medie., This paper deals with the danish public libraries arrangement and promotion of comics for adults in selected libraries to day. This will be examined by obersvation of practice in the libraries. Furthermore it deals with the influence of legislation and general development in the library field on the conditions of comics. This will be looked into by readings of the laws in force and a newly introduced bill and literature about the development in the library field in the period from 1991 to 2011. Finally this paper will try to determine if there has been a change in attitude towards comics in the period from 1991 to 2011 from interviews in the libraries and textanalysis. The paper concludes that comics as a media have been normalized.

This paper investigates the uses of the social network Facebook and how individual users shares and defines their identity towards their Facebook-friends. This analysis is based on theory and a survey shared on Facebook as an event and had 370 completed responses from friends and friends’ friends. The survey showed some tendencies in what Facebook-users share and how their view and use the options for the promotion of self. The results are then analysed and discussed using the theoretical basis and certain relevant rapports and articles. The results and analysis showed that most respondents do use Facebook as a tool for self-promotion but mostly in a social context. The uses for Facebook as a professional tool are widely overlooked by Danish users.

The location and condition of comics is very different at the libraries in Denmark. It seems like there are two possible ways of dealing with the comics, either they are combined in a "child-young" department where they are divided into child and adult comics, or completely separated in a child and adult division. But in any case they refer to the familiar creeps. It is extremely rare to see comics split into genre, or even in format. It seems like the general opinion is that comics are comics, and there’s no distinction otherwise in the mode of expression. There are wide variations in comics, and therefore it seems inappropriate to place them all together, simply because of their belonging to the same media. This paper focus on the libraries' purchase of comics and their quality assessment is consistent with the physical arrangement.

Det undersøges i denne opgave, hvordan erkendelse og vidensdannelse sker. Med fokus på C.S. Peirce fænomenologiske teorier om erkendelse stiller jeg to informationsarkitektur-metoder op mod hinanden i ønsket om at studere ligheder og forskelle i hvordan metoderne hver især fungerer i forhold til netop erkendelse og videnstilegnelse. IA-teorierne er Per V. Hasles teori om informationsarkitektur og retorik samt Bengt Göranssons model for Användbarhetsdesign i systemutveckling. Slutteligt ser jeg på eventuelle konsekvenser, respektive teorier vil medfører i den praktiske anvendelse af informationsarkitektur. Konsekvenser er, i denne sammenhæng, hensynet til brugerene og min case vil ud fra Danske Dagblades Forenings re-design af deres hjemmeside, figurere som eksempel.

Med den digitale alders simple muligheder for manipulation er presse-fotografiet kommet under pres. Der forventes mere og mere af den visuelle kultur vi lever i og presse-fotografiet lever ikke op til forventninger. Det er informativt, men kedeligt. Denne opgave undersøger og diskuterer, hvordan fotografer har benyttet sig af manipulation for større fascinationskraft og hvilke konsekvenser det har for deres billeder. Det er formålet med denne opgave først at give en historisk gennemgang af fotografiet og manipulation. Herefter vil opgave vise gennem en analyse af tre presse-fotografier, at man som presse-fotograf må gå på kompromis med de tre kriterier troværdighed, sandhed og fascination for at skabe et vellykket presse-fotografi. Opgavens konklusion om hvorvidt det kan lade gøre, ender i et grænseland mellem modtager, medie og fotograf. Kompromis er et nøgleord når det kommer til manipulation.

Billedkunstværker er dynamiske tegn, og denne undersøgelse har til formål at beskrive og diskutere denne påstands konsekvenser for billedanalysen. Herunder lægges særlig vægt på, hvordan lighedsrelationer afhænger af beskuerens fortolkningsmuligheder og disses dynamik. Undersøgelsen består af en teoretisk og en praktisk analysedel. Den teoretiske del beskriver og diskuterer Peirces, Barthes’ og Ecos teorier om henholdsvis lighedsbegreber og det dynamiske i fortolkningsprocessen. Den praktiske analysedel udgøres af billedanalyser med en selvudviklet analysemodel: den retoriske billedanalyse, og Peirces, Barthes’ og Ecos teorier behandles på et praktisk plan. Billedeksemplerne er opdelt i tre kategorier: det fremmede, opløsende og åbne formsprog. Konsekvenserne af lighedsrelationernes dynamik og billedkunstværket som dynamisk tegn er, at det er meningsløst at tale om et umiddelbart og objektivt aflæsningsniveau. Billedanalysen må tage hensyn til det kommunikative, retoriske og dynamiske aspekt, og den udgør derfor et alternativ til Panofskys billedanalyse, hvis mangler afslutningsvis inddrages i en perspektivering.

Jeg har i min opgave kigget på, hvilke filmiske virkemidler Tim Burton benytter sig af i hans film, herunder visuelle metaforiske virkemidler, farver, lys, lydens betydning samt karakterfremstillinger. Jeg ønsker at se på, hvorvidt Tim Burton har et budskab med sine film? Eller om det blot er ren underholdning? Jeg har i min opgave fundet ud af, at der er nogle gennemgående virkemidler som Burton benytter sig af i hans film: Det gotiske præg med low-key belysning, skygger, spidse mystiske bygninger og mystiske personer. Det er farverne, som har stor betydning og her ses ofte stor kontrast, som metafor for to verdener, der støder sammen; verdener, hvor den ene er mørk, dunkel og mystisk og den anden er meget farverig. Lyden har også stor betydning, både den stemningsfulde underlægningsmusik (asynkron) og dialogerne hvor personernes stemmer får stor betydning: f.eks. Willy Wonkas fistelstemme (reallyd). Burtons karakterfremstilling er også et gennemgående virkemiddel, de er altid karikerede, og her mener jeg ikke kun hovedkarakteren, som dog skiller sig mest ud, men også de øvrige medvirkende. Jeg har fundet ud af, at Burtons film ikke kun er ren underholdning, at der også er et budskab i filmene. Dette budskab omhandler typisk outsideren og dennes vanskeligheder med at tilpasse sig samfundet og dets sociale normer. Filmene handler om, at man skal stå ved den man er; at man ikke bare skal indordne sig og gøre hvad andre ønsker eller forventer; at man skal turde at være sig selv samt at der bør være plads til det skæve og det anderledes. En undertematik i filmene synes at omhandle familien og dennes vigtige sociale funktion og betydning.

Det narrative forløb og tidsfremstillingen i digitale tegneserier undersøges, for at finde ud af om mediet kan overleve den konvergens der er mulighed for mellem tegneserier, animation og lyd på internettet. Dette gøres ved at se på fremstillingen af tid og det narrative forløb i tegneserier, animation og hybrider mellem disse medier, såvel som konsekvenserne af anvendelsen af lyd i forbindelse med tidsopfattelsen. Det konkluderes at tegneserier kan krydses med andre medier, og at forskellen primært ligger i hvor og hvordan det narrative forløb kommer til udtryk.

Denne opgave har til formål, at undersøge om mangaens visuelle udtryk er en særlig udtryksform, der formidler til en særlig målgruppe. Mangaens og den vestlige tegneseries ophav redegøres i historiske træk, og mangaens karakteristika opridses. Dernæst analyseres markedet for danske mangaudgivelser, med henblik på målgruppebestemmelse, og to klassiske fortællinger analyseres med det formål, at undersøge hvordan manga visuelt anvendes og fungerer til denne type udgivelser. Endvidere inddrages børns baggrund for afkodning af billeder, medialiseringen af børns leg, samt årsager til mangaens popularitet. Der konkluderes afslutningsvis, at mangaen er en særlig visuel udtryksform, som henvender sig til en særlig målgruppe, i forhold til danske mangaudgivelser.

I denne opgave tilsigtes det at undersøge, hvorvidt det er muligt at opnå informationer og viden om virkeligheden i fiktionsfilm, og hvorvidt det er muligt at udforme en analysemodel til formålet. I denne forbindelse udarbejdes en analysemodel, som beskæftiger sig med fiktionsfilmens afsender, afsenderens intentioner, værket samt tiltænkt modtager og modtager. Efterfølgende analyseres to film, og resultaterne fremgår i analyseskemaer. Som resultat på opgaven konkluderes det, at det er muligt at opnå informationer og viden om virkeligheden gennem fiktionsfilm, og at analysemodellen fungerer.

Formålet med denne opgave er med afsæt i e-bogslæsere, at undersøge om teknologien kan supplere de akademiske faglige brugere. I opgaven er dette specificeret til en enkelt akademisk kreds, jura. Tre udvalgte e-bogslæsere, Kindle, Sony Reader Touch 600 og Nook bliver vurderet i forhold til den trykte bog inden for emner som typografi og læseformer, men også de tre e-bogslæsere gennemgås og sammenlignes både indbyrdes, men også teoretisk ud fra juristens krav og behov. Resultatet af undersøgelsen viser at e-bogslæsere endnu ikke er på et stadie, hvor de med fordel kan benyttes af jurister., The purpose of this assignment is to examine whether the technology of e-book readers can match the academic user. This is specified to a single academic circle, law. Three selected e-book readers – the Kindle, Sony Reader Touch 600 and Nook will be evaluated in relation to the printed book covering topics such as typography and reading forms. I dette bachelorprojekt diskuteres Charles Sanders Peirces og Walter Benjamins teorier for at nå frem til indholdet i kvalitetsbegrebet. Dette gøres med henblik på, at etablere en analysemodel, der kan identificere kvaliteter i kunstværker. For at kunne belyse de psykologiske symboler i værkerne bringes Carl Gustav Jungs arketyper frem som prototyper. Syv impressionistiske kunstværker fra syv forskellige kunstnere (Courbet, Monet, Boudin, Pissarro, Degas, Manet og Morisot) er projektet analyseobjekter og er valgt, fordi impressionismen brød de klassiske kunstidealer og grundlagde fundamentet for den modernistiske kunststil., During this bachelor project the theories of Charles Sanders Peirce and Walter Benjamin is analyzed to bring to light the nature of quality in art paintings. The archetypes of Carl Gustav Jung are used to help identify the psychological aspect of the works of art. The impressionist artists Courbet, Monet, Boudin, Pissarro, Degas, Manet and Morisot are subjected to analysis to identify the qualities in their works. I denne opgave undersøges hvordan betydningsdannelsen dannes i formidlingen af sporten igennem tv-mediet. Det undersøges om tv-mediet promoverer en bestemt læsning sporten. Med teori i semiotiken analyseres en dm-finale i badminton og en fodboldkamp mellem Danmark og Sverige. I badmintonkampen er betydningsdannelsen knyttet til spillet på banen. I fodboldkampen bliver dannet en betydning om national identitet. Det er ikke kun tv-mediet, som danner betydningen, men sporten selv og omgivelserne, In this assignment it is explored how meaning is formed in the dissemination of the sport through the television media. It is examined if the television media promotes a particular reading of sport. With the theory of semiotics, analysis of a badminton match and a football match between Denmark and Sweden is done. Since 2006 there has been an increasing growth in the sale of vinyl records. It is a surprising fact that an analogue media format undergoes a renaissance in a time, where digital formats rule. What causes this renaissance of the vinyl record in a modern, digital era? The vinyl record as an analogue media was primarily replaced by the digital media format, the CD in 1989. However the CD and the later digital variation – download (MP3) – didn’t manage to replace the analogue vinyl record completely. Mainly because of the qualities of the vinyl record which separate the analogue vinyl record from the digital media formats. These qualities are primarily a better sound quality in the analogue media as the digital sound picture isn’t able to reconstruct the complete natural sound structure. Furthermore the experience value of the vinyl record has certain advantages compared to the mobile, compact digital media. First there is an aesthetic value in the visually advanced record covers which also contains exclusive information to the interested music enthusiast. These qualities in the record cover enhance the contemplation value in sitting peacefully at home listening to a great sound performance while investigating the visually challenging and exclusively informative record cover.

Bacheloropgavens formål er, at undersøge hvorvidt der er forskel på moral i den fysiske og den virtuelle verden. Yderligere søges der afklaret, hvad eventuelle forskelle skyldes. For at sammenligne moral i de to verdner, afdækkes grundlaget for denne gemmen en række anerkendelsesformer, med rod i definitioner af filosofferne Axel Honneth og Micharl Walzer. I digitale værker er mulighederne for at søge visuelle informationer begrænsede, fordi den eksisterende praksis for indeksering af visuelle ressourcer ikke er tilfredsstillende. Det giver særlige problemer for udvikling af interaktive multimedier og digitale værker struktureret i databaseform til brug i faglig formidling. I biblioteks- og informationsvidenskabelige samenhænge baseres indekseringspraksis på Erwin Panofskys billedteori. Dette teoretiske udgangspunkt er kunsthistorisk funderet, og sikrer ikke en optimal udnyttelse af de visuelle informationsressourcer i billeder.Facetteret billedanalyse er et forslag til at forbedre praksis ved at basere billedanalyse – og i forlængelse heraf indekseringen af billeder – på grundlag af C.S. Peirce’s tegnteori. Fra denne position betragtes billeder ikke som sprog, men som visuelle tegn. Herved opnås en dybere indeksering af billeder, og følgelig en bedre udnyttelse af visuelle informaitonsressourcer.Med udgangspunkt i en kategorisering af billeder efter brug i tre typer, virkelighedsbilleder, mytiske billeder og æstetiske billeder, afprøves operationaliteten af den facetterede billedanalyse. Det konkluderes, at facetteret billedanalyse kan anvendes til at beskrive billeders visuelle informationsindhold, men at det i sig selv ikke er en tilstrækkelig betingelse for den bedst mulige udnyttelse af billeder i faglig formidling. Når billeder bruges formidlingsmæssigt, udfoldes deres betydningspotentiale i større kommunikative sammenhænge, og betydningen findes ikke blot i en analyse af billedet selv.Den facetterede billedanalyse giver et tegnteoretisk grundlag for en videreudvikling af en indekseringsmetode, der vil kunne vise sig at være et bedre grundlag for indeksering af visuelle ressourcer i interaktive multimedier, end det traditionelle grundlag der bruges i biblioteks- og informationsvidenskabelige sammenhænge.
