The accumulation of plastic waste has become a problem facing the world. Recycling plastic waste is a successful way to control this problem. In this paper, the mechanical behavior of HDPE plastic in a composite material with fiberglass as reinforcement is studied. The composite materials were prepared using three different volume fractions of fiberglass (0, 7.5 and 22.5%) using the hand-layup method. bending, impact and tensile tests were conducted. From results, the yield, impact, tensile and bending strengths, were increased with increasing the volume fraction, while the ductility decreased significantly [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
