A partir da identificação da projeção de Iracema – uma transa amazônica (1974) na Mostra de Cinema Marginalizado, em 1978, o artigo investiga a inscrição do filme dentro de uma tradição experimental do cinema brasileiro e o uso do choque estético como estratégia de enfrentamento cinematográfico. Esse estudo é conduzido através de um diálogo de imagens com obras do Cinema Marginal, tendo como pressuposto teórico a ideia de Configuração, proposta por Alain Badiou (1998).

ABSTRACT Objective: To learn about the structure of nursing students’ social representations about obstetric violence. Method: Qualitative study conducted with 117 nursing students from a state university in Brazil, between July and October 2022. Data were collected in person using the free Word evocation technique and processed using the Evoc software to create a four-box chart, through prototypical analysis. Results: The representational structure was organized on the central elements of disrespect, suffering and violation, which attribute to the representation negative meanings related to the group’s position on the grievance and its repercussions. The similarity analysis showed that the elements with the greatest connection were disrespect and suffering. Final considerations: Social representations of nursing students were organized around an attitudinal dimension through the terms disrespect and violation, and the affective dimension defined by suffering. It is noteworthy that, for students, obstetric violence is centered on disrespectful professional practices that cause suffering to women.

The objective of this study was to investigate the perceptions and attitudes of consumers toward food service safety and hygiene when purchasing ready-to-eat food. Data were collected at three time points: before (T0) and during the COVID-19 pandemic (T1 and T2). Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are heterogeneous, phospholipid membrane enclosed particles that are secreted by healthy and cancerous cells. EVs are present in diverse biological fluids and have been associated with the severity of diseases, which indicates their potential as biomarkers for diagnosis, prognosis and as therapeutic targets. This study investigated the phenotypic characteristics of EVs derived from peripheral blood (PB) and bone marrow (BM) in pediatric patients with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) during different treatment stages. PB and BM plasma were collected from 20 B-ALL patients at three time points during induction therapy, referred to as: diagnosis baseline (D0), day 15 of induction therapy (D15) and the end of the induction therapy (D35). In addition, PB samples were collected from 10 healthy children at a single time point. The EVs were measured using CytoFLEX S flow cytometer. Calibration beads were employed to ensure accurate size analysis. The following, fluorescent-labeled specific cellular markers were used to label the EVs: Annexin V (phosphatidylserine), CD235a (erythrocyte), CD41a (platelet), CD51 (endothelial cell), CD45 (leukocyte), CD66b (neutrophil), CD14 (monocyte), CD3 (T lymphocyte), CD19, CD34 and CD10 (B lymphoblast/leukemic blast). Our results demonstrate that B-ALL patients had a marked production of EV-CD51/61+, EV-CD10+, EV-CD19+ and EV-CD10+CD19+ (double-positive) with a decrease in EV-CD41a+ on D0. However, the kinetics and signature of production during induction therapy revealed a clear decline in EV-CD10+ and EV-CD19+, with an increase of EV-CD41a+ on D35. Furthermore, B-ALL patients showed a complex biological network, exhibiting distinct profiles on D0 and D35. Interestingly, fold change and ROC curve analysis demonstrated that EV-CD10+CD19+ were associated with B-ALL patients, exhibited excellent clinical performance and standing out as a potential diagnostic biomarker. In conclusion, our data indicate that EVs represent a promising field of investigation in B-ALL, offering the possibility of identifying potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

Embora seja um aspecto crucial da gestão contemporânea, a inclusão é frequentemente mal compreendida. Por mais que iniciativas de diversidade sejam comuns, reter talentos diversos continua sendo um desafio devido à falta de inclusão genuína. Uma abordagem promissora para promover a inclusão é a liderança inclusiva, que valoriza e integra diversas perspectivas teóricas. Este artigo explora os fundamentos dessa liderança, com foco na sua definição conceitual, nos seus impactos e nos fatores que podem fortalecer ou enfraquecer seus efeitos. O presente estudo distingue a liderança inclusiva de outros estilos e examina sua relevância no contexto cultural brasileiro. Recomendações práticas para implementar a liderança inclusiva são apresentadas, com ênfase para a necessidade de treinamento abrangente e um compromisso genuíno com a inclusão em todos os níveis organizacionais. O objetivo é fornecer suporte teórico para pesquisas futuras e ações que podem ser derivadas do conhecimento estabelecido.

BackgroundChildren with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) have an immune imbalance that is marked by remodeling of the hematopoietic compartment, with effects on peripheral blood (PB). Although the bone marrow (BM) is the main maintenance site of malignancy, the frequency with which immune cells and molecules can be monitored is limited, thus the identification of biomarkers in PB becomes an alternative for monitoring the evolution of the disease.MethodsHere, we characterize the systemic immunological profile in children undergoing treatment for B-ALL, and evaluate the performance of cell populations, chemokines and cytokines as potential biomarkers during clinical follow-up. For this purpose, PB samples from 20 patients with B-ALL were collected on diagnosis (D0) and during induction therapy (days 8, 15 and 35). In addition, samples from 28 children were used as a control group (CG). The cellular profile (NK and NKT-cells, Treg, CD3+ T, CD4+ T and CD8+ T cells) and soluble immunological mediators (CXCL8, CCL2, CXCL9, CCL5, CXCL10, IL-6, TNF, IFN-γ, IL-17A, IL- 4, IL-10 and IL-2) were evaluated via flow cytometry immunophenotyping and cytometric bead array assay.ResultsOn D0, B-ALL patients showed reduction in the frequency of cell populations, except for CD4+ T and CD8+ T cells, which together with CCL2, CXCL9, CXCL10, IL-6 and IL-10 were elevated in relation to the patients of the CG. On D8 and D15, the patients presented a transition in the immunological profile. While, on D35, they already presented an opposite profile to D0, with an increase in NKT, CD3+ T, CD4+ T and Treg cells, along with CCL5, and a decrease in the levels of CXCL9, CXCL10 and IL-10, thus demonstrating that B-ALL patients present a complex and dynamic immune network during induction therapy. Furthermore, we identified that many immunological mediators could be used to classify the therapeutic response based on currently used parameters.ConclusionFinally, it is noted that the systemic immunological profile after remission induction still differs significantly when compared to the GC and that multiple immunological mediators performed well as serum biomarkers.

Analysis of differential gene expression from RNA-seq data has become a standard for several research areas. The steps for the computational analysis include many data types and file formats, and a wide variety of computational tools that can be applied alone or together as pipelines. This paper presents a review of the differential expression analysis pipeline, addressing its steps and the respective objectives, the principal methods available in each step, and their properties, therefore introducing an organized overview to this context. This review aims to address mainly the aspects involved in the differentially expressed gene (DEG) analysis from RNA sequencing data (RNA-seq), considering the computational methods. In addition, a timeline of the computational methods for DEG is shown and discussed, and the relationships existing between the most important computational tools are presented by an interaction network. A discussion on the challenges and gaps in DEG analysis is also highlighted in this review. This paper will serve as a tutorial for new entrants into the field and help established users update their analysis pipelines.

A questão das doenças emergentes infecciosas e sua propagação é um tema mais urgente na atualidade do que em qualquer outra ocasião, tendo em vista a pandemia da COVID-19. Este trabalho propõe comparar a propagação de diferentes viroses emergentes, pandêmicas e epidêmicas. Avaliar a influência das ações antrópicas e do comportamento humano nestes processos, além de caracterizar os principais vetores nas viroses emergentes. Isto foi feito por meio de ampla revisão bibliográfica sobre o tema, abarcando publicações do final dos anos 1980 até 2020. Conclui-se que as modificações antrópicas associadas à agricultura intensiva fazem com que vetores se tornem sinantrópicos. A expansão em áreas novas provoca a entrada em nichos onde novos agentes podem ser encontrados. A criação extensiva porco–pato tradicionalmente praticada na China, coloca duas espécies em contato, favorecendo um laboratório natural para novas cepas recombinantes para gripe. No fator comportamento humano a facilidade de deslocamento, principalmente o transporte aéreo internacional, globalização, contribuem muito para rápida disseminação das doenças. Os resultados dessa pesquisa reforçam que a emergência das viroses está diretamente relacionada a fatores comportamentais humano e as ações antrópicas.

BackgroundThe novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) presents with complex pathophysiological effects in various organ systems. Following the COVID-19, there are shifts in biomarker and cytokine equilibrium associated with altered physiological processes arising from viral damage or aggressive immunological response. We hypothesized that high daily dose methylprednisolone improved the injury biomarkers and serum cytokine profiles in COVID-19 patients.MethodsInjury biomarker and cytokine analysis was performed on 50 SARS-Cov-2 negative controls and 101 hospitalized severe COVID-19 patients: 49 methylprednisolone-treated (MP group) and 52 placebo-treated serum samples. Samples from the treated groups collected on days D1 (pre-treatment) all the groups, D7 (2 days after ending therapy) and D14 were analyzed. Luminex assay quantified the biomarkers HMGB1, FABP3, myoglobin, troponin I and NTproBNP. Immune mediators (CXCL8, CCL2, CXCL9, CXCL10, TNF, IFN-γ, IL-17A, IL-12p70, IL-10, IL-6, IL-4, IL-2, and IL-1β) were quantified using cytometric bead array.ResultsAt pretreatment, the two treatment groups were comparable demographically. At pre-treatment (D1), injury biomarkers (HMGB1, TnI, myoglobin and FABP3) were distinctly elevated. At D7, HMGB1 was significantly higher in the MP group (p=0.0448) compared to the placebo group, while HMGB1 in the placebo group diminished significantly by D14 (p=0.0115). Compared to healthy control samples, several immune mediators (IL-17A, IL-6, IL-10, MIG, MCP-1, and IP-10) were considerably elevated at baseline (all p≤0.05). At D7, MIG and IP-10 of the MP-group were significantly lower than in the placebo-group (p=0.0431, p=0.0069, respectively). Longitudinally, IL-2 (MP-group) and IL-17A (placebo-group) had increased significantly by D14. In placebo group, IL-2 and IL-17A continuously increased, as IL-12p70, IL-10 and IP-10 steadily decreased during follow-up. The MP treated group had IL-2, IFN-γ, IL-17A and IL-12p70 progressively increase while IL-1β and IL-10 gradually decreased towards D14. Moderate to strong positive correlations between chemokines and cytokines were observed on D7 and D14.ConclusionThese findings suggest MP treatment could ameliorate levels of myoglobin and FABP3, but appeared to have no impact on HMGB1, TnI and NTproBNP. In addition, methylprednisolone relieves the COVID-19 induced inflammatory response by diminishing MIG and IP-10 levels. Overall, corticosteroid (methylprednisolone) use in COVID-19 management influences the immunological molecule and injury biomarker profile in COVID-19 patients.

Há muitas informações sobre mecanismos capazes de motivar a redução voluntária de emissões de gases de efeito estufa (GEE) pelas empresas. Entretanto, há uma lacuna na investigação dos efeitos que incentivos monetários fixos e não fixos aos executivos (que tomam decisões sobre estas questões) poderiam ocasionar. Foram analisadas 31 empresas listadas na B3 que divulgaram inventários de emissões (GEE) entre 2012 e 2019. Conduzimos uma análise exploratória, com o uso análise documental de divulgações não financeiras e um painel dinâmico de duas fases (GMM-SYS) para controlar potenciais problemas de endogeneidade. Os resultados são robustos e sugerem a eficácia desses incentivos monetários na redução das emissões de GEE. Nossos principais resultados são: i) Existe uma relação positiva e contemporânea entre incentivos monetários e reduções de emissões de carbono. ii) O ROA e Ativo Total apresentaram relação positiva e significante com as emissões assim quanto maior e mais lucrativa a empresa, maiores são as emissões; iii) Apesar das leis ambientais ineficientes sobre GEE, as empresas brasileiras parecem oferecer voluntariamente incentivos para reduzir as emissões de carbono. Nossos resultados são relevantes especialmente para reguladores e acionistas, pois fornecem subsídios para o controle de emissões em países em desenvolvimento como o Brasil e alinham interesses.

Abstract Background The release of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) is associated with inflammation, coagulopathy, and organ damage found in severe cases of COVID-19. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the release of NETs in COVID-19 remain unclear. Objectives We aim to investigate the role of the Gasdermin-D (GSDMD) pathway on NETs release and the development of organ damage during COVID-19. Methods We performed a single-cell transcriptome analysis in public data of bronchoalveolar lavage. Then, we enrolled 63 hospitalized patients with moderate and severe COVID-19. We analyze in blood and lung tissue samples the expression of GSDMD, presence of NETs, and signaling pathways upstreaming. Furthermore, we analyzed the treatment with disulfiram in a mouse model of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Results We found that the SARS-CoV-2 virus directly activates the pore-forming protein GSDMD that triggers NET production and organ damage in COVID-19. Single-cell transcriptome analysis revealed that the expression of GSDMD and inflammasome-related genes were increased in COVID-19 patients. High expression of active GSDMD associated with NETs structures was found in the lung tissue of COVID-19 patients. Furthermore, we showed that activation of GSDMD in neutrophils requires active caspase1/4 and live SARS-CoV-2, which infects neutrophils. In a mouse model of SARS-CoV-2 infection, the treatment with disulfiram inhibited NETs release and reduced organ damage. Conclusion These results demonstrated that GSDMD-dependent NETosis plays a critical role in COVID-19 immunopathology and suggests GSDMD as a novel potential target for improving the COVID-19 therapeutic strategy.

The adaptive potential of plants is commonly used as an indicator of genotypes with higher breeding program potential. However, the complexity and interaction of plant metabolic parameters pose a challenge to selection strategies. In this context, this study aimed to explore phenotypic plasticity within the germplasm of Hybrid Timor coffee. Additionally, we assessed the utility of the multivariate phenotypic plasticity index (MVPi) as a promising tool to predict genotype performance across diverse climatic conditions. To achieve this, we evaluated the performance of seven accessions from the Hybrid Timor germplasm in comparison to the Rubi and IPR 100 cultivars, known for their susceptibility and resistance to drought, respectively. The experiment took place in a greenhouse under two conditions: one with normal soil moisture levels near maximum capacity, and the other with a water deficit scenario involving a period of no irrigation followed by rehydration. Data on physiological and biochemical factors were collected at three stages: before applying the water deficit, during its imposition, and after rehydration. Growth data were obtained by the difference between the beginning and end of the experimental period Furthermore, field evaluations of the productivity of the same genotypes were carried out over two consecutive seasons. Based on physiological and biochemical assessments, the MVPi was computed, employing Euclidean distance between principal component multivariate analysis scores. Subsequently, this index was correlated with growth and productivity data through linear regressions. Our findings reveal that the plastic genotypes that are capable of significantly altering physiological and biochemical parameters in response to environmental stimuli exhibited reduced biomass loss in both aerial and root parts. As a result, this positively influenced their productivity. Enhanced plasticity was particularly prominent in accessions from the MG Germplasm Collection: MG 311—Hybrid Timor UFV 428-02, MG 270—Hybrid Timor UFV 377-21, and MG 279—Hybrid Timor UFV 376-31, alongside the Rubi MG 1192 cultivar. The MVPi emerged as a valuable instrument to assess genotype adaptability and predict their performance under varying climatic scenarios.

Methylene blue (MB) is an alternative for combating drug-resistant malaria parasites. Its transmission-blocking potential has been demonstrated in vivo in murine models, in vitro, and in clinical trials. MB shows high efficacy against Plasmodium vivax asexual stages; however, its efficacy in sexual stages is unknown. In this study, we evaluated the potential of MB against asexual and sexual forms of P. vivax isolated from the blood of patients residing in the Brazilian Amazon. An ex vivo schizont maturation assay, zygote to ookinete transformation assay, direct membrane feed assay (DMFA), and standard membrane feed assay (SMFA) using P. vivax gametocytes with MB exposure were performed. A cytotoxicity assay was also performed on freshly collected peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and the hepatocyte carcinoma cell line HepG2. MB inhibited the P. vivax schizont maturation and demonstrated an IC50 lower than that of chloroquine (control drug). In the sexual forms, the MB demonstrated a high level of inhibition in the transformation of the zygotes into ookinetes. In the DMFA, MB did not considerably affect the infection rate and showed low inhibition, but it demonstrated a slight decrease in the infection intensity in all tested concentrations. In contrast, in the SMFA, MB was able to completely block the transmission at the highest concentration (20 µM). MB demonstrated low cytotoxicity to fresh PBMCs but demonstrated higher cytotoxicity to the hepatocyte carcinoma cell line HepG2. These results show that MB may be a potential drug for vivax malaria treatment.

En 2020, debido a cambios macroeconómicos, como el precio del petróleo y la pandemia del COVID-19, se activó el Circuit Breaker (CB) para contener la volatilidad del mercado mercado brasileño. Varios sectores se vieron afectados negativamente. Sin embargo, el sector agroindustrial registró un aumento en el volumen de las exportaciones de productos básicos. Así, es relevante evaluar el desempeño de las empresas asociadas al sector agroindustrial brasileño, ya que se trata de un sector transversal que involucra diferentes cadenas productivas del país; además, en dicho periodo de tiempo, es necesario identificar el comportamiento de los inversores no solo de inseguridad y riesgo, sino también de aumento de las inversiones. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este estudio es analizar las diferencias en los rendimientos de las acciones en 2020, teniendo en cuenta las empresas del sector agro-pesquero que han publicado notas explicativas sobre COVID-19 en 2020. Han sido analizados los datos de rentabilidad mensual y diaria de cuatro empresas, con un total de 96 y 132 observaciones respectivamente. Se utilizó la metodología de estudio de eventos y la prueba de Mann-Whitney. Los resultados indican que no hay diferencias estadísticamente significativas en los rendimientos de los dos períodos investigados; con respecto a la divulgación de información, el mercado incorporó rápidamente la información en los precios de las acciones. Además, conviene señalar que la información optimista sobresalió en relación con la pesimista. La principal contribución de este estudio es poner de relieve la utilidad del mecanismo de divulgación como medio para garantizar la tranquilidad del mercado en medio de la crisis mundial de la pandemia y el bienestar de las empresas.

Esta pesquisa busca investigar a relação entre a divulgação de emissão de carbono e o custo de capital de empresas brasileiras de capital aberto no perído de 2012 a 2017. Até o momento, no Brasil, não existem evidências empíricas para provar a relevância dessas informações voluntárias para o mercado de capitais, bem como os impactos que resultem em redução no custo de capital. Com o intuito de preencher essa lacuna sob a perspectiva da teoria de sinalização, realizou-se uma pesquisa com 27 empresas brasileiras de capital aberto listadas na B3. Foram utilizadas duas medidas de divulgação voluntária: o disclosure dos inventários de emissões de Gases de Efeito Estufa (GEE) e os questionários do Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) capazes de influenciar o custo médio ponderado de capital das firmas (WACC). As hipóteses de pesquisa foram verificadas por meio de regressão múltipla com dados em painel. Os resultados encontrados contribuem para a literatura, fornecendo evidências dos benefícios da divulgação de informações sobre mudanças climáticas no custo de capital das firmas brasileiras. Identificou-se que empresas poluentes possuem menor custo de capital e, mesmo sob risco de reputação, prevalecem ainda as vantagens da divulgação. Além disso, os achados fornecem subsídios às políticas regulatórias sobre evidenciação, gerenciamento e emissão de carbono das empresas brasileiras.

Considerando a carência de estudos sobre a emergência do movimento homossexual em Pernambuco no início dos anos oitenta do século 20, objetivamos por meio das produções discursivas geradas pela mídia impressa: a) analisar a construção discursiva sobre “movimento político” na produção midiática sobre o Grupo de Atuação Homossexual (Gatho) em Pernambuco, no cenário da redemocratização; b) Mapear repertórios sobre homossexualidade na produção midiática sobre o Gatho e sua ação política; c) Identificar atores e atrizes, entre disputas e coalizões, na conformação das notícias sobre esse grupo. Os resultados apontam que o Gatho buscou se posicionar como sujeito político, confrontando esferas institucionais e abrindo campos de aliança com outros movimentos sociais, partido político e imprensa. Também agiu para a produção de novos repertórios de modo a combater discriminações em torno da homossexualidade, aportando um debate sobre a necessidade de garantia de direitos, historicamente negados à população LGBT.

Plant loss occasionally occurs in field experiments with coffee crops in experimental plots. In breeding programs, such loss can be harmful, especially when the corresponding statistical analyses are not consistent with the experimentally generated data. Herein, we analyzed productivity data to determine whether the compensatory effect occurs in coffee crops, evaluated the need to correct experimental failures, and identified the best stand correction method. We used productivity data from six harvests of eleven experiments with Coffea arabica plants. The experiments were implemented in a randomized block design, with four replications and six plants per plot. The following stand correction methods were evaluated: rule of three; Zuber; Vencovsky and Cruz covariance of the average or ideal stands; and Cruz, and the data were compared without correction adjustments. The most adequate correction methods were selected based on genetic variance, selective accuracy, and progeny ordering. The compensatory effect was evident from the analyzed data, with stand correction being evidenced as beneficial in progeny competition experiments. The best results were obtained for the covariance methods using average or ideal stands, followed by the method proposed by Cruz. The rule of three and Zuber method exhibited unsatisfactory results and are not recommended for stand correction in progeny competition experiments with coffee crops.

In this study, a novel electrochemical assay for determining 17-β-estradiol (E2) was proposed. The approach involves modifying a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) with a nanocomposite consisting of α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles supported on carbon nanotubes (CNTs)—denoted as α-Fe2O3-CNT/GCE. The synthesis of the α-Fe2O3-CNT nanocomposite was achieved through a simple and cost-effective hydrothermal process. Morphological and chemical characterization were conducted using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The presence of the α-Fe2O3-CNT film on the GCE surface resulted in an enhanced electrochemical response to E2, preventing electrode surface fouling and mitigating the decrease in peak current intensity during E2 oxidation. These outcomes substantiate the rationale behind the GCE modification. After the optimization of experimental conditions, E2 was determined by the square wave voltammetry technique using 0.1 mol L−1 KCl solution (pH = 7.0) with 20% ethanol as a supporting electrolyte. A linear concentration range of 5.0–100.0 nmol L−1 and a low limit of detection of 4.4 nmol L−1 were obtained. The electroanalytical method using α-Fe2O3-CNT/GCE was applied for E2 determination in pharmaceutical, lake water, and synthetic urine samples. The obtained results were attested by recovery tests and by high-performance liquid chromatography as a comparative technique at a 95% confidence level. Thus, the developed electrochemical sensor is simple and fast to obtain, presents high accuracy, and is viable for determining E2 in routine analysis.

Bothrops snakebite envenomation (SBE) is consider an important health problem in Brazil, where Bothrops atrox is mainly responsible in the Brazilian Amazon. Local effects represent a relevant clinical issue, in which inflammatory signs and symptoms in the bite site represent a potential risk for short and long-term disabilities. Among local complications, secondary infections (SIs) are a common clinical finding during Bothrops atrox SBE and are described by the appearance of signs such as abscess, cellulitis or necrotizing fasciitis in the affected site. However, the influence of SI in the local events is still poorly understood. Therefore, the present study describes for the first time the impact of SBE wound infection on local manifestations and inflammatory response from patients of Bothrops atrox SBE in the Brazilian Amazon. This was an observational study carried out at the Fundação de Medicina Tropical Dr. Heitor Vieira Dourado, Manaus (Brazil), involving victims of Bothrops SBE. Clinical and laboratorial data were collected along with blood samples for the quantification of circulating cytokines and chemokines before antivenom administrations (T0) and 24 h (T1), 48 h (T2), 72 h (T3) and 7 days after (T4). From the 94 patients included in this study, 42 presented SI (44.7%) and 52 were without SI (NSI, 55.3%). Patients classified as moderate envenoming presented an increased risk of developing SI (OR = 2.69; CI 95% = 1.08–6.66, p = 0.033), while patients with bites in hands showed a lower risk (OR = 0.20; CI 95% = 0.04–0.96, p = 0.045). During follow-up, SI patients presented a worsening of local temperature along with a sustained profile of edema and pain, while NSI patients showed a tendency to restore and were highlighted in patients where SI was diagnosed at T2. As for laboratorial parameters, leukocytes, erythrocyte sedimentation ratio, fibrinogen and C-reactive protein were found increased in patients with SI and more frequently in patients diagnosed with SI at T3. Higher levels of circulating IL-2, IL-10, IL-6, TNF, INF-γ and CXCL-10 were observed in SI patients along with marked correlations between these mediators and IL-4 and IL-17, showing a plurality in the profile with a mix of Th1/Th2/Th17 response. The present study reports for the first time the synergistic effects of local infection and envenoming on the inflammatory response represented by local manifestations, which reflected on laboratorial parameters and inflammatory mediators and thus help improve the clinical management of SI associated to Bothrops SBE.

O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar os reflexos da Medida Provisória (MP) n° 966/2020 que dispõe sobre a responsabilização de agentes públicos por ação e omissão em atos relacionados com a pandemia de Covid-19, caracterizando-se assim, o chamado “direito administrativo da emergência” que, traz à tona transfigurações de todo o sistema afetando as relações jurídicas preexistentes. Primeiramente, a fim de contextualizar a questão, será identificada a responsabilidade civil do agente público, como também do Estado perante o ordenamento jurídico pátrio. Em seguida, investiga-se a necessidade e relevância da referida medida, em contraponto com os mandamentos normativos já existentes, em especial, a Lei de Introdução as Normas do Direito Brasileiro (LINDB) e o Decreto regulamentador de n° 9.830/2019. Por fim, será analisado os impactos dos atos de agentes públicos na vigência da MP nº 966/2020 à luz da legislação pátria, bem como pela interpretação acerca dos limites impostos pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal, haja vista a rejeição tácita, em razão do escoamento do prazo legal.

Resumo O artigo discute as mediações familiares e escolares entre crianças e tecnologias digitais, seus desafios e possíveis implicações a partir de uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa com uso de métodos mistos: questionários aplicados aos familiares, entrevistas com professoras, um grupo de formação e um grupo focal com familiares e professoras. Em relação às mediações capacitadoras e/ou restritivas observadas na pesquisa, destaca-se que: as crianças usam tecnologias digitais desde cedo, mas os adultos nem sempre percebem seus riscos e suas possibilidades; a escolaridade e a classe social não parecem ter sido determinantes na qualidade da mediação realizada. Por fim, algumas considerações atualizam a discussão dos usos das tecnologias e suas mediações familiares e escolares no contexto da pandemia de Covid-19.

Este artigo analisou a atuação das Organizações Sociais de Saúde (OSS) no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) e o uso dos contratos de gestão e dos termos aditivos como instrumentos de privatização. O objetivo foi compreender os processos que legitimam a privatização, a partir da quantificação dos valores financeiros repassados por meio de contratos de gestão e termos aditivos para as organizações que firmaram contratos com a Secretaria Municipal de Saúde do Rio de Janeiro (SMS-RJ), Brasil, entre 2009 e 2018. Foi desenvolvido um estudo descritivo e exploratório com abordagem mista para analisar os valores repassados às OSS. Trabalhou-se com dados secundários públicos e disponíveis nos portais eletrônicos da SMS-RJ, além de outros documentos oficiais. Foram identificados 268 documentos, sendo 61 contratos e 207 aditivos, relacionados a 15 instituições. O volume financeiro total repassado a essas organizações foi de BRL 15,94 bilhões. A OSS IABAS (Instituto de Atenção Básica e Avançada à Saúde) foi a que mais recebeu recursos públicos, somando BRL 4,021 bilhões. Em 2014, o orçamento total da saúde do município do Rio de Janeiro foi de aproximadamente BRL 4 bilhões, sendo que desse montante BRL 2,5 bilhões foram repassados para as OSS, representando 62% do orçamento da saúde. Com base nos dados, podemos afirmar que os contratos de gestão e os termos aditivos são instrumentos de privatização do SUS. Essa privatização não se dá no modelo convencional, mas em um tipo funcional e flutuante.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: The nature of liver disease, the evolutionary course and duration of liver diseases, as well as the degree of severity and disability can trigger multiple outcomes with repercussions on neuromotor acquisition and development. OBJECTIVE: To systematically review and conduct a meta-analysis to evaluate the effects of liver disease on the neuropsychomotor development of children and adolescents with their native livers and those who underwent liver transplantation. METHODS: Observational studies published since the early 1980s until June 2019 were sought in the PubMed and Scopus databases. An α value of 0.05 was considered significant. The statistical heterogeneity of the treatment effect between the studies was assessed by the Cochran’s Q test and the I2 inconsistency test, in which values above 25 and 50% were considered indicative of moderate and high heterogeneity, respectively. Analyses were performed with Review Manager 5.3. RESULTS: Twenty-five studies met the eligibility criteria, including 909 children and adolescents with liver disease. Meta-analyses showed deficits in total IQ -0.41 (95%CI: -0.51 to -0.32; N: 9,973), verbal IQ -0.38 (95%CI: -0.57 to -0.18; N: 10,284) and receptive language -0.85 (95%CI: -1.16 to -0.53; N: 921) in liver transplantation, and those with native livers who had symptoms early had total and verbal IQ scores (85±8.8; 86.3±10.6 respectively) lower than the scores of those with late manifestations (99.5±13.8; 96.2±9.2). Gross motor skill was reduced -46.29 (95%CI: -81.55 to -11.03; N: 3,746). CONCLUSION: Acute or chronic liver disease can cause declines in cognitive, motor and language functions. Although the scores improve after liver transplantation, children remain below average when compared to healthy children.

Experiments with progenies of perennial species such as coffee are generally affected by the heterogeneity of residual variances between information repeatedly collected in space and time on the same individual. In this study, we propose an index that considers the individual heritability of multiple traits for progeny selection and evaluate the applicability of this index in comparison with other indices in a real dataset. Data from 30 coffee genotypes in the F4:5 generation were used to obtain the individual heritability values (hi2) of progenies that were subjected to factorial analysis to obtain the scores and construct a scatter plot, where graphical analysis (GA) was applied. Genetic gains were obtained for productivity and resistance to Cercospora leaf spot using GA. The best performance among the strategies (−12.11%) was obtained using GA for resistance to Cercospora leaf spot, which has low heritability—contrary to the result obtained using the commonly used index based on the sum of Mulamba and Mock ranks. The GA approach allows an assertive selection to minimize the effects of heterogeneity between seasons, and greater genetic gains are obtained. Its use as a tool for the selection of perennial plant progenies based on multiple characters is promising.

Resumo: Moreira (2005, 2008) e Moreira e Alkmim (2013) observam que a forma senhor e suas variantes de gênero e número são frequentemente utilizadas como vocativo em construções extraídas de peças teatrais escritas por autores mineiros nos séculos XIX e XX. Considerando os trabalhos citados, a nossa hipótese é a de que a incidência do uso da forma senhor como vocativo em posição final resultou em um processo de gramaticalização, que originou as formas reduzidas desse item: sinhô, seu, siô, sôr e sô. Neste artigo, a partir de dados de intuição e da avaliação de falantes nativos, objetiva-se descrever e analisar as construções em que o item sô se realiza. Seguimos Hill (2007, 2014) que situa o vocativo na estrutura sintática, considerando a função pragmática que este item desempenha. Como resultado, tem-se as configurações arbóreas correspondentes às construções em que o item sô se realiza e considerações sobre o vocativo na estrutura sintática do dialeto mineiro. In this article, based on intuition and evaluation data from native speakers, we aim to describe and analyze the constructions in which the item sô is realized. We follow Hill (2007, 2014), who places the vocative in the syntactic structure, considering the pragmatic function that this item performs. As a result, we present tree configurations corresponding to the constructions in which the item sô is realized, as well as considerations about the vocative in the syntactic structure of the dialect of Minas Gerais. The development of more drought-tolerant cultivars is essential for the maintenance of global agricultural production. This study aimed to perform an early selection of drought-tolerant Coffea arabica genotypes by evaluating their functional divergence using morphological, anatomical and physiological analyses. Seedlings of 14 genotypes were subjected to the drought stress imposed by irrigation for 18 days. Growth and anatomical parameters, leaf water potential and gas exchanges were measured. Under irrigated conditions and prolonged drought (18 days), the divergence among the genotypes was determined mainly by morphological traits, such as leaf area, stem diameter and, consequently, shoot dry mass. Under moderate drought (14 days), parameters such as water potential, cuticle thickness, stomatal density, number of xylem vessels and water-use efficiency were important for the divergence of the group with the highest ability to maintain its water status. The genotypes 1, 2, 4, 11 and 12 have characteristics that contributed to the maintenance of water status, such as greater cuticle thickness, stomatal density, smaller number of xylem vessels and phloem thickness, bigger root length and greater water-use efficiency. The functional divergence combining morphological, anatomical and physiological analyses in response to the moderate drought indicated the early selection of the genotypes 1, 2, 4, 11 and 12 as more drought tolerant during the seedling stage.

Objetivo: O objetivo desta revisão foi avaliar quais os tratamentos utilizados para correção da acidose metabólica na doença renal crônica (DRC) e os efeitos sobre a progressão da doença. Método: Realizou-se revisão sistemática utilizando o protocolo PRISMA, de estudos clínicos randomizados nas bases de dados Science Direct, Cochrane Library e National Library of Medicine-PubMed. Os critérios de inclusão foram artigos originais de estudos clínicos randomizados com intervenção dietética com dieta alcalina à base de frutas e vegetais, suplementação de álcali oral ou qualquer combinação usada para tratar acidose metabólica em pacientes com DRC não dependentes de diálise. Resultados: Foram incluídos sete estudos nesta revisão, todos utilizando algum álcali oral como tratamento, sendo o bicarbonato de sódio o principal álcali ministrado e 57% (n=4) utilizaram dieta alcalina em consonância ou não com álcali oral. Todas as intervenções obtiveram melhora no quadro de acidose metabólica. Quanto à taxa de filtração glomerular (TFG), constatou-se retardo no declínio da TFG em 57% (n=4) dos estudos após melhora da acidose metabólica. Conclusões: O tratamento da acidose metabólica quando somado a intervenções dietéticas, obteve resultados mais favoráveis sobre a progressão da DRC por melhorar, além do bicarbonato sérico, outros parâmetros de interesse, como pressão arterial, ureia plasmática, calcemia, fosfatemia, sódio urinário, potássio urinário, albumina urinária e LDL. Assim, os dados apoiam o uso da dieta alcalina nos tratamentos para correção da acidose metabólica em paciente com DRC.

Objective: To investigate eating behavior and serum concentration of triglycerides in children and adolescents with autistic spectrum disorder. Methods: Cross-sectional study conducted in the neurodevelopment nucleus, from October 2018 to April 2019 in a neurodevelopment center in the city of Pelotas/RS. Blood samples were collected, and serum was essayed for triglycerides by colorimetric enzymatic reaction. The Children's Eating Behavior Questionnaire was applied to the parents. The comparison between two or three categories of variables was performed with nonparametric tests. Linear regression was used to access the association between the log triglyceride serum concentration and the score above or below the median score of the food response and emotional overeating subscales. Results: Sixty patients were evaluated. The average age was 8.6 ± 3.2 years and most were white (75 %), male (80 %), and overweight (66%). Half of the sample had elevated triglycerides. Triglyceride concentrations were higher among overweight children and adolescents with higher median scores on the “food response” and “emotional overeating” subscales. In the adjusted analysis, the association between triglycerides and higher scores on subscales reflecting interest in food remained significant. Conclusion: Children and adolescents with autistic spectrum disorder present high triglyceride concentrations associated with a greater interest in food. Knowledge of this eating behavior may provide more effective nutritional intervention in this population.

Objetivos: identificar a concepção de cuidar da mulher em situação de violência conjugal para as(os) enfermeiras da Estratégia Saúde da Família e descrever o cuidado desenvolvido à mulher em situação de violência conjugal pela(o) enfermeira(o). Métodos: Pesquisa descritiva, qualitativa, realizada com 17 enfermeira(o)s das Unidades de Saúde da família de um município baiano. Os dados foram coletados por entrevistas semiestruturadas e organizados pela técnica de análise de conteúdo. Resultados: Para o(a)s entrevistado(a)s cuidar da mulher em situação de violência conjugal envolve acolhimento e trabalho em equipe multiprofissional. As(Os) enfermeiras(os) acolhem e buscam resolver as queixas da mulher. Entretanto, o silêncio da mulher, a contrarreferência e a capacitação profissional inadequada foram dificuldades encontradas. Conclusão: A capacitação profissional propicia a ressignificação do cuidado à mulher em situação de violência conjugal, visando à integralidade.

OBJETIVO: compreender a violência doméstica contra a mulher na percepção das equipes de Saúde da Família. MÉTODOS: Pesquisa qualitativa, realizada com 24 profissionais das Unidades de Saúde da Família de um município do interior baiano. As informações emergiram de entrevista semiestruturada organizadas pela análise de conteúdo temática. RESULTADOS: A violência física e psicológica foram as formas mais comuns de violência doméstica contra a mulher, tendo o alcoolismo, o ciúme e a cultura machista como precipitadores das agressões. As relações de gênero e poder foram evidenciadas no contexto da violência. CONCLUSÃO: Destaca-se a necessidade de capacitação das equipes de saúde da família para a identificação e manejo adequado dos casos de violência doméstica contra a mulher, visando o cuidado integral.

Introduction and AimsThe behavioral changes that arose from quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic may have impacted the weight of people. This study aims to investigate the incidence and predictors of weight gain during the quarantine period.MethodsAn online survey was performed five months after the social distance measures implementation. Participants recorded their current and usual weight before lockdown. A multivariate logistic regression model was performed.ResultsData on 1334 participants were evaluated (33.6y, 79.8% females), and 58.8% have gained weight (3.0 kg; 0.1 to 30.0 kg). Predictors of weight gain were increased food intake (OR = 5.40); snacking (OR = 2.86); fast food (OR = 1.11); canned products (OR = 1.08); and in physical activity (OR = 0.99) concerning the period before the pandemic; also time spent at work, including household chores (OR = 1.58); evening snack (OR = 1.54); higher frequency of alcoholic beverage intake (OR = 1.59) and dose of alcoholic beverage (OR = 1.11); uncontrolled eating (OR = 1.01), and vegetable intake (OR = 0.92) during the quarantine and physical activity before pandemic period (OR = 0.99).ConclusionMost participants have gained weight during the pandemic because of working changes, lifestyle, eating habits changes, and uncontrolled eating behavior. These results can be useful to encourage changes during future quarantine periods to prevent weight gain.

Bothrops atrox envenomations are common in the Brazilian Amazon. The venom of B. atrox is highly inflammatory, which results in severe local complications, including the formation of blisters. Moreover, there is little information on the immune mechanisms associated with this condition. Thus, a longitudinal study was carried out to characterize the profile of the cell populations and soluble immunological mediators in the peripheral blood and blisters in B. atrox patients s according to their clinical manifestations (mild and severe). A similar response in both B. atrox patient groups (MILD and SEV) was observed, with an increase in inflammatory monocytes, NKT, and T and B cells, as well as CCL2, CCL5, CXCL9, CXCL10, IL-1β and IL-10, when compared with the group of healthy blood donors. After the administration of antivenom, the participation of patrolling monocytes and IL-10 in the MILD group was observed. In the SEV group, the participation of B cells was observed, with high levels of CCL2 and IL-6. In the blister exudate, a hyperinflammatory profile was observed. In conclusion, we revealed the involvement of cell populations and soluble mediators in the immune response to B. atrox envenomation at the local and peripheral level, which is related to the onset and extent of the inflammation/clinical manifestation.

The nasal mucosa is the main gateway for entry, replication and elimination of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the pathogen that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome (COVID-19). The presence of the virus in the epithelium causes damage to the nasal mucosa and compromises mucociliary clearance. The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of SARS-CoV-2 viral antigens in the nasal mucociliary mucosa of patients with a history of mild COVID-19 and persistent inflammatory rhinopathy. We evaluated eight adults without previous nasal diseases and with a history of COVID-19 and persistent olfactory dysfunction for more than 80 days after diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Samples of the nasal mucosa were collected via brushing of the middle nasal concha. The detection of viral antigens was performed using immunofluorescence through confocal microscopy. Viral antigens were detected in the nasal mucosa of all patients. Persistent anosmia was observed in four patients. Our findings suggest that persistent SARS-CoV-2 antigens in the nasal mucosa of mild COVID-19 patients may lead to inflammatory rhinopathy and prolonged or relapsing anosmia. This study sheds light on the potential mechanisms underlying persistent symptoms of COVID-19 and highlights the importance of monitoring patients with persistent anosmia and nasal-related symptoms.

Several researchers have attempted to develop coffee plants that are resistant to brown eye spot (BES); however, no coffee cultivars are resistant to the disease. In the present study, a blend of strains from Cercospora coffeicola was inoculated into 19 Brazilian commercial cultivars and 41 accessions from the Germplasm Collection of Minas Gerais to evaluate the genetic resistance ability within the population and select superior genotypes for the breeding program. After predicting the genotypic values of the estudied material, the evaluations number necessary for selecting genotypes with accuracy and efficiency was determined based on the data of severity to BES. The action of defense mechanisms plant was also investigated by assessing the levels of total soluble phenolic compounds and soluble lignin in contrasting genotypes for disease susceptibility. Based on the results, the accession MG 1207 Sumatra, had an intrinsic genetic capacity to maintain low levels of severity to BES. The genotype MG 1207 Sumatra can substantially contribute to the development of new cultivars, which may lead to the reduced use of pesticides. According to the accuracy and efficiency results obtained, four evaluations BES severity are sufficient to achieve accuracy, providing expressive genetic gains. Finally, the levels of lignin and phenolic compounds were not found to be associated with the resistance of coffee genotypes to BES.

In the Brazilian Amazon, the snake Bothrops atrox is the primary cause of snakebites. B. atrox (BaV) venom can cause systemic pathophysiological changes such as acute kidney injury (AKI), which leads to the production of chemokines and cytokines in response to the envenomation. These soluble immunological molecules act by modulating the inflammatory response; however, the mechanisms associated with the development of AKI are still poorly understood. Here, we characterize the profile of these soluble immunological molecules as possible predictive biomarkers of the development of AKI. The study involved 34 patients who had been victims of snakebites by Bothrops sp. These were categorized into two groups according to the development of AKI (AKI(-)/AKI(+)), using healthy donors as the control (HD). Peripheral blood samples were collected at three-time points: before antivenom administration (T0) and at 24 and 48 hours after antivenom (T1 and T2, respectively). The soluble immunological molecules (CXCL-8, CCL-5, CXCL-9, CCL-2, CXCL-10, IL-6, TNF, IL-2, IL-10, IFN-γ, IL-4, and IL-17A) were quantified using cytometric bead array. Our results demonstrated an increase in CXCL-9, CXCL-10, IL-6, IL-2, IL-10, and IL-17A molecules in the groups of patients who suffered Bothrops snakebites (AKI(-) and AKI(+)) before antivenom administration, when compared to HD. In the AKI(+) group, levels of CXCL-8 and CCL-2 molecules were elevated on admission and progressively decreased during the clinical evolution of patients after antivenom administration. In addition, in the signature analysis, these were produced exclusively by the group AKI(+) at T0. Thus, these chemokines may be related to the initiation and extension of AKI after envenomation by Bothrops and present themselves as two potential biomarkers of AKI at T0.

The evaluation of coffee quality in Brazil for commercialization is conducted mainly through sensory analysis, also known as the "cup test", in which professional tasters evaluate and score various attributes. The adoption of chemical methods could complement the sensory classification of beverages, if correlations between these chemical and sensory analyses exist, making classification less subjective. This work aimed to identify the relationships between the chemical and sensorial traits of coffee-beverage quality and to evaluate the use of these traits as criteria for the selection of Bourbon cultivars. Twenty coffee genotypes from the first three harvests across five municipalities of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil were evaluated. The genotypic values, predicted for each genotype, were used to determine the index based on the sum of ranks from Mulamba and Mock. The genetic correlations among the evaluated traits were also estimated. The presented evaluations were not able to efficiently detect genetic and phenotypic relationships between the chemical and sensorial characteristics of drink quality, but as selection criteria for generation advancement in the beverage quality, it is possible to use these characteristics. Bourbon Amarelo LCJ 9-IAC, Bourbon Amarelo-Procafé, Bourbon Amarelo-Boa Vista, Bourbon Vermelho-São João Batista, and Bourbon Amarelo-Samambaia were the genotypes with the most promising cup quality in the studied regions. Through the selection of these five genotypes, the selection gain was 1.65% for sensory score for beverage quality, when the interaction among the studied environments was removed. The heritability was 92% for improving this trait.

A formação técnica em enfermagem na modalidade integrada surge como uma alternativa promissora, com a missão de formar profissionais críticos, reflexivos e criativos de acordo com as necessidades do mundo do trabalho, assim facilitando a inserção e permanência destes jovens em uma profissão. No entanto, na prática, esta trajetória é permeada por dificuldades que podem comprometer o alcance desses propósitos. Assim, o objetivo desta pesquisa é analisar os desafios para inserção e permanência no mundo do trabalho relatados por egressos da formação técnica em enfermagem na modalidade integrada. Para tanto, foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com 19 egressos, das quais foram extraídos elementos considerados desafiadores na trajetória profissional: falta de experiência na profissão, limitações das iniciativas governamentais, baixa oferta de vagas no interior do estado, rede de indicações e precariedade dos vínculos. Neste contexto, fica evidente a desarmonia entre o número de indivíduos formados e qualificados e a quantidade de profissionais inseridos no mundo do trabalho, o que explicita a necessidade de implementar estratégias para atenuar esta problemática.

ABSTRACT Objective: To identify possibilities for developing teaching community of practice as a permanent training strategy for teaching in vocational nursing education. Method: This is a qualitative action research, carried out with vocational training professors and pedagogical coordination of a Unified Health System Vocational School of Ceará. Data were collected by focus groups and submitted to Bardin’s content analysis, supported by the Qualitative Data Analysis Software. Results: Possibilities for the development of teaching community of practice were identified by the perception of the need for teacher training, difficulty in reconciling work and study, and the feasibility of promoting this training in a group. Conclusion: Teaching community of practice, in addition to being a viable strategy for nursing professor education, is urgent, as the training of secondary-level workers is crucial for quality of care and consolidation of the Unified Health System.

Objective: to analyze the practical dimension of health professionals’ social representations about neglected diseases. Method: a qualitative study, supported by the Theory of Social Representations, developed between March and October 2018 in primary and secondary care units in the inland of Bahia, Brazil. The data were collected by means of in-depth interviews and submitted to lexical analysis using the IRAMUTEQ software. Results: the social representations consisted of a practical dimension that described the care process of health professionals with their difficulties and potentialities when facing neglected diseases. Conclusion: the practical dimension of the social representation indicated the need for public policies directed to neglected diseases, care practices in permanent education in health and professional training with comprehensive care.

ABSTRACT Objective: to describe the training-professional profile of nursing professors in the vocational course in nursing at the Technical Schools of the Unified Health System. Methods: a quantitative descriptive research, carried out with 61 nurses who are professors of technical courses in nursing at five technical schools in three Brazilian regions. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and submitted to descriptive analysis. Results: only 36% of teaching nurses were licensed and 80% had a specialization in nursing or health. Although 95.1% of participants considered training for teaching necessary, 44.2% did not have qualifications for this job. The average length of work in care was 8 years, focusing on the hospital network. Conclusion: the need for professor training and investment in it is evidenced, as the training of essential workers for nursing care and consolidation of the Unified Health System is on the agenda.

Objetivo: Compreender como os shareholders do setor bancário da B3 tiveram seus investimentos impactados frente à introdução da obrigatoriedade da divulgação da remuneração dos executivos no Brasil, em decorrência da publicação da IN CVM 480/2009. Método: Para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa foi feita uma análise de comparação de médias condicionais com o uso de vetores autorregressivos (VAR), para identificação da quebra estrutural e da metodologia de estudo de eventos. Principais resultados: Os resultados mostram que houve quebra estrutural da média de retorno acionário assim como da taxa de crescimento da remuneração média dos executivos, apresentando impacto negativo no período posterior à regulação. O impacto negativo advindo da regulação foi captado pelo modelo no mês seguinte à publicação da IN CVM 480/2009 e nos 3 dias após a regulação. Relevância/Originalidade: Os resultados são importantes aos reguladores e demais participantes do mercado, pois indicam a mudança na percepção dos participantes do mercado a partir da regulação, mostrando que a regulação pode modificar os contratos de compensação dos executivos e assim, promover o alinhamento de interesses dentro do setor financeiro. Contribuições teóricas/metodológicas: O estudo contribui para o entendimento dos efeitos da regulação na remuneração dos executivos do setor financeiro brasileiro. Além disso, contribui para a literatura ao estimular o debate acerca das especificidades do setor bancário brasileiro sobre o desenvolvimento de mecanismos de governança corporativa voltados ao setor, como forma de mitigar a tomada de riscos que tende a comprometer toda a economia do país. Os resultados também são importantes aos reguladores, na medida em que sugerem que a regulação foi benéfica na redução do conflito de interesses entre agente e principal. Além disso, a contribuição metodológica consiste em utilizar-se o modelo VAR (Vetores Autorregressivos) paralelamente ao estudo de eventos, reforçando a originalidade da pesquisa e promovendo melhor aprofundamento dessa temática.

Abstract Aim The capacity of macrophytes to colonize large areas is often referred to as dependent of the investment in root system and its capacity to uptake nutrients. This work aimed to evaluate the phosphorus (P) effects on the root growth and anatomy as well as its capacity to uptake this nutrient by the aquatic macrophyte Typha domingensis. Methods Plants were grown for 60 days in nutrient solution containing 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 or 0.8 mM of phosphorus. At the end of the experiment, the root length and P root content as well as the root anatomy at the maturation and meristematic zones were evaluated. Results Higher P concentrations increased the uptake of this nutrient and plant dry mass. However, the root length was reduced by higher phosphorus levels. In addition, P increased the proportion of the root cap while reduced the proportion of the procambium at the meristematic zone. Higher phosphorus concentrations reduced the xylem vessel diameter and the proportion of the vascular cylinder at the maturation zone, whereas increased phloem proportion was observed under this condition. Furthermore, higher phosphorus levels reduced the endodermis and exodermis thickness as well as the aerenchyma proportion. Conclusions Therefore, the T. domingensis P requirement is fulfilled at 0.4 mM of this nutrient and hypertrophic conditions promote the development of unfavorable root anatomical traits and reduction of the root growth.

O presente artigo tem como objetivo compreender, a partir de pesquisa bibliográfica, os desafios e as possibilidades do ateliê de arte na Educação Infantil e sua contribuição para o desenvolvimento da criança, inspirados na abordagem pedagógica de Reggio Emilia (IT). De objetivo exploratório, natureza básica e abordagem qualitativa, esta pesquisa teve como técnica a documentação. Destaca-se que a abordagem de Reggio Emilia, no que se refere à arte, aproxima-se do que as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais para a Educação Infantil (2010), a Base Nacional Comum Curricular (2018) e a Base Curricular do município de Palhoça (2019) apresentam e orientam a respeito da arte nas instituições de Educação Infantil. Além disso, conclui-se que o ateliê contribui muito para as práticas pedagógicas com arte, e suas possibilidades não estão presas a esse espaço, o que torna possível tomar como referência e inspiração a abordagem de Reggio Emilia para a realidade das instituições de Educação Infantil brasileiras.

O artigo trata resumidamente do concurso estudantil de arquitetura bioclimática entitulado XI Bienal José Miguel Aroztegui , que ocorreu concomitantemente ao XV ENCAC - Encontro Nacional de Conforto no Ambiente Construído durante os dias 18,19 e 20 de Setembro de 2019 na cidade de Joao Pessoa/PB. O enfoque do concurso foi arquitetura biobclimática em espaços de saúde, especificamente em unidades básicas de saúde-UBS.

A discussão em relação ao processo de formação inicial de professores constitui-se como temática central no contexto das principais questões que compõem o cenário da educação no Brasil. Os modelos de formação aligeirada, estruturações curriculares que se configuram mais ao bacharelado do que à licenciatura e as consequências práticas das recém-aprovadas políticas educacionais: Reforma do Ensino Médio (Lei nº 13.415/2017), Base Nacional Curricular Comum (BNCC) e Residência Pedagógica são exemplos de tensões que integram e influenciam tais reflexões sobre a conjuntura de formação no país. Nesse contexto, o objetivo da presente pesquisa é abordar essas e outras tensões com a finalidade de refletir e propor possíveis caminhos que resultem em uma melhor compreensão e aperfeiçoamento da realidade atual, dando ênfase à formação do professor de Geografia. Os procedimentos metodológicos adotados pautaram-se em pesquisa documental e na revisão bibliográfica de autores que tratam a respeito do tema. Os resultados obtidos demonstram que ainda são muitos os dilemas e dificuldades que compõe o âmbito da formação inicial de professores de Geografia, assim, insistir na continuidade de pesquisas e diálogos (particulares e comuns) acerca do assunto é fundamental na finalidade de melhor discerni-lo, propondo outros caminhos e possibilidades.

This study aimed to establish a strategy for drought-tolerant selection in Arabica coffee genotypes in Brazil, combining field trials under natural conditions with controlled growth condition experiments. A group of genotypes was evaluated in the greenhouse using 28 morphological, anatomical, and physiological traits. In addition, the productivity of genotypes was evaluated in the field. Under water deficit in the greenhouse, 13 studied traits showed significant genetic variance. For these traits, the heritability coefficients estimated based on the progeny mean ranged from 65 to 92%. A selection index combined with predicted means was applied at these traits to select four progenies for drought tolerance under greenhouse conditions. Under field conditions, the selection applied to genetic values that favored positive genetic gains in four progenies, indicating the potential use of these cultivars for breeding advanced generations. The selection results of coffee plants under greenhouse conditions matched the selection results in the field in a water-deficit region by 50% based on productivity; thus, two genotypes (H419-3-3-7-16-11 and H516-2-1-1-7-2) were identified that have both the productivity and morpho-anatomical traits that confer greater drought tolerance. Finally, we discussed possible strategies for the development of drought-tolerant cultivars.
