Background: Postendodontic restoration with composite resins has gained popularity due to the development of more reliable adhesives with simplified bonding procedures and less technique sensitivity. Pulpal floor dentin is a complex biological structure and a more challenging bonding substrate. Hence, appropriate selection of the bonding agent for these regions of the tooth is important. Aims: To compare the shear bond strength of a new generation of dental adhesives referred to as multimode adhesives, two-step self-etch adhesive, and a total-etch system to pulpal floor dentin. Materials and Methods: Sixty human mandibular molars were sectioned with a slow speed diamond disc to expose the pulp chamber and divided into four groups of 15 teeth each, based on the bonding agent used. Group A: Single bond universal (self-etch); Group B: Single Bond Universal (etch-and-rinse), Group C: Clearfil SE Bond, Group D: Adper Single Bond 2. Using a split Teflon mold, composite cylinders were built on the prepared dentinal surfaces. The shear bond strength was then evaluated with the universal testing machine. Results: Two step self-etch adhesives recorded higher shear bond strength than total-etch and multimode/universal adhesives applied in both self-etch and etch-and-rinse techniques. Conclusion: The self-etching/priming system bonded more strongly to the pulpal floor dentin than multimode adhesive and total-etch system.

Background: A relatively large part of the global burden of diseases has roots in adolescence, caused by social, environmental, and behavioral characteristics rather than genetic, congenital, or biological origins. Adolescents with unhealthy behaviors are more likely to suffer from emotional and behavioral problems (EBPs) and nutritional issues such as iron deficiency anemia (IDA), leading to poor physical and social status and behavioral health insufficiencies. The sustainable development goals place a strong emphasis on adolescent health promotion, and UNESCO urges this noble aim to use an integrated approach to interventions. Moringa-incorporated snacks reduce iron deficiency and reduce the incidence of anemia. Comparably, mindful mandala art therapy fosters resilience and, when paired with life skill training, can lessen EBPs, supporting mental health. When combined, these evidencebased treatments may promote adolescent health. This paper aims to introduce the protocol related to investigating the effect of an adolescent-focused intervention bundle (AFIB) on adolescent health promotion by evaluating changes in hematological parameters depicting iron deficiency, resilience score, and strength and difficulties questionnaire C (SDQ) score depicting EBPs. Methods: A total of 120 adolescents living in Child Care Institutions (CCI) registered under the Juvenile Justice Act (JJ Act) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, will be enrolled in a single-blinded randomized controlled trial. The participants are randomly assigned into intervention (n=60) and control (n=60) groups. The AFIB involves a simultaneous Moringa Amla millet bar (30 g) supplementation (daily) along with life skill training interventions and mindful mandala interventions (weekly). Results: The primary outcomes are changes in hematological parameters, including hemoglobin (HB), hematocrit (HCT), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular HB (MCH), mean corpuscular HB concentration (MCHC), and red cell distribution width (RDW); changes in resilience score, measured by Connor Davidson resilience assessment scale (CD-RISC); and strength and problems measured by strength and difficulty questionnaire rated by wardens of the CCIs. The secondary outcomes are changes in anthropometric measures, including height, weight, mid upper arm circumference, and body mass index (BMI). The data will be analyzed using a paired t-test, repeated measures analysis of variance, and descriptive statistics using SPSS software. The significance level will be set at 0.05. Conclusion: The study protocol outlined here sets the foundation for the concept of an adolescent focused intervention bundle and its implications for vulnerable, institutionalised adolescents. The study findings have the potential to significantly influence both clinical practice and future research particularly in developing multifaceted interventions tailored to this population. The purpose of this study was to understand how masculinity and race impact mental health among Black male graduate students. A qualitative study using in-depth interviews recruited Black male graduate students enrolled at a private university in the southern United States. Data were collected over zoom and recorded. Interviews were transcribed and the data were analyzed for similar themes. Twenty-nine Black male graduate students 23 to 51 were recruited. Participants reported the three main elements that impacted their mental health were (1) expectations, (2) pressure, and (3) being strong. These findings suggest that colleges need to develop programming to help Black men learn how to handle racial discrimination in positive ways. Additionally, findings also highlight the need for culturally relevant mental health services that let Black men know seeking help is ok and is what men do. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Protein methylation is an important Post-Translational Modification (PTMs) of proteins. Arginine methylation carries out and regulates several important biological functions, including gene regulation and signal transduction. Experimental identification of arginine methylation site is a daunting task as it is costly as well as time and labour intensive. Hence reliable prediction tools play an important task in rapid screening and identification of possible methylation sites in proteomes. Our preliminary assessment using the available prediction methods on collected data yielded unimpressive results. This motivated us to perform a comprehensive data analysis and appraisal of features relevant in the context of biological significance, that led to the development of a prediction tool PRmePRed with better performance. The PRmePRed perform reasonably well with an accuracy of 84.10%, 82.38% sensitivity, 83.77% specificity, and Matthew's correlation coefficient of 66.20% in 10-fold cross-validation. We investigated here the mechanism of cytoprotection of nitric oxide ([sup.*]NO) in bovine aortic endothelial cells treated with [H.sub.2][O.sub.2]. NONOates were used as [sup.*]NO donors that released [sup.*]NO slowly at a well defined rate in the extracellular and intracellular milieus. [H.sub.2][O.sub.2]-mediated intracellular dichlorofluorescein fluorescence and apoptosis were enhanced by the transferrin receptor (TfR)-mediated iron uptake. [sup.*]NO inhibited the TfR-mediated iron uptake, dichlorofluorescein fluorescence, and apoptosis in [H.sub.2][O.sub.2]-treated cells. [sup.*]NO increased the proteasomal activity and degradation of nitrated TfR via ubiquitination. [N.sup.[omega]-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester, a nonspecific inhibitor of endogenous [sup.*]NO biosynthesis, decreased the trypsin-like activity of 26S proteasome. [sup.*]NO, by activating proteolysis, mitigates TfR-dependent iron uptake, dichlorodihydrofluorescein oxidation, and apoptosis in [H.sub.2][O.sub.2]-treated bovine aortic endothelial cells. The relevance of biological nitration on redox signaling is discussed.

Research has been conducted on the peroxynitrite-dependent oxidation and hydrophobic tyrosine analogue nitration in membranes and tyrosine in aqueous solutions. Results indicate the difference in the levels of nitration and oxidation of the hydrophobic tyrosine probe located in a lipid bilayer and its corresponding dimer.
