In living systems, the contact between cells is the basis of recognition, differentiation, and orchestration of an immune response. Obstacles and barriers to biomolecular motion, especially for receptors at cellular synapses, critically control these functions by creating an anisotropic environment. Whereas conventional fluorescence fluctuation methods, such as fluorescence correlation spectroscopy or fluorescence recovery after photobleaching, can only measure the isotropic diffusion of molecules, the two-dimensional pair correlation function (2D-pCF) approach probes the anisotropic paths at different spatial locations within an image, allowing the creation of high-resolution maps that can visualize and quantify how molecules move in a living cell. In this work, we show how the 2D-pCF method maps the environment in cellular synapses as perceived by natural killer (NK) cell receptors. In cultured human HLA null 721.221 cells, 2D-pCF reveals the motion of inhibitory receptor HLA-Cw4-YFP coexpressed with KIR3DL1 to be highly directional around specific loci, while these restrictions were absent in the case of HLA-B51-YFP coexpressed with KIR2DL1. Further, in freshly isolated educated (H-2Dd) and uneducated (MHC-/-) primary murine NK cells, the 2D-pCF method shows significant differences in the paths taken by activating receptor NKp46 and inhibitory receptor Ly49A in educated compared to uneducated cells. Altogether, we demonstrate that the 2D-pCF method is very powerful in informing about the spatial organization of motion in cells. Our data support the hypothesis that flexibility in the spatial arrangement of membrane receptors, that is, the absence of barriers, is crucial for NK cell function.

Educated natural killer (NK) cells have inhibitory receptors specific for self major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules and kill cancer cells more efficiently than do NK cells that do not have such receptors (hyporesponsive NK cells). The mechanism behind this functional empowerment through education has so far not been fully described. In addition, distinctive phenotypic markers of educated NK cells at the single-cell level are lacking. We developed a refined version of the image mean square displacement (iMSD) method (called iMSD carpet analysis) and used it in combination with single-particle tracking to characterize the dynamics of the activating receptor NKp46 and the inhibitory receptor Ly49A on resting educated versus hyporesponsive murine NK cells. Most of the NKp46 and Ly49A molecules were restricted to microdomains; however, individual NKp46 molecules resided in these domains for shorter periods and diffused faster on the surface of educated, compared to hyporesponsive, NK cells. In contrast, the movement of Ly49A was more constrained in educated NK cells compared to hyporesponsive NK cells. Either disrupting the actin cytoskeleton or adding cholesterol to the cells prohibited activating signaling, suggesting that the dynamics of receptor movements within the cell membrane are critical for the proper activation of NK cells. The faster and more dynamic movement of NKp46 in educated NK cells may facilitate a swifter response to interactions with target cells.

- Abstract
Criminality has always been a problem within society. During the last couple of years, we have seen an increase in young people's involvement in crime, which could indicate that the ongoing preventive work is not successful enough. The aim of this study was therefore to explore how people, who have been involved in illegal activities, describe the purpose of criminality and its reasons. We chose to conduct a qualitative study with six autobiographies studying how the authors describe different aspects of their criminality. For the analysis we decided to use two theories founded on symbolic interactionism, Howard S. Becker and his labeling theory together with Jack Katz and his theory of seductions of crime. Both were chosen because of their different explanations regarding individuals' interpretation of the social environment. The results of the study show that there are several reasons why criminality became an option for each author. Some of the reasons are shown to be parenting ability, school, socioeconomic background, and exclusion from both society and community. Regarding purpose with crime, some motivating factors turned out to be the lack of belonging, power, and the possibility to create an identity. It is shown in this study that several authors experience that authorities do not take individuals' purpose and reasons for choosing criminality into consideration when engaging with clients. With regards to the result of the study, it is a possibility that these factors could be important in the social work with individuals involved in criminality. This knowledge may help us bring a better understanding of what criminality aims to fulfill for each individual.

- Abstract
Det kan göra att sjuksköterskor kan bli mer medvetna om hur deras ageranden påverkar vuxna patienters vårdupplevelser., Background: Stroke is a public illness and both includes ischemic stroke and brain haemorrage. Nursing care for stroke is extensive and the nurses have overall responsibility for nursing in the stroke department. In order for adult stroke patients to experience good care, nursing care must be designed according to the patients’ individual needs and current condition. Aim: The aim of the study was to illustrate patients’ experiences of nursing stroke care in a stroke ward. Method: A literature study with an inductive approach based on nine qualitative articles and one article with a mixed method. Results: Two main categories were identified: (1) communicative nursing and (2) close-to-patient nursing. The first category contained two subcategories and the second category contained five subcategories. Patients who have been cared for in a stroke unit felt that the care was not adapted to their unique needs, conditions and wishes. Conclusion: Adult patients’ experiences of stroke care contribute to learning and understanding about stroke care in a stroke ward. This can make nurses more aware of how their actions affect adult patients’ care experiences.

Detta, The right to access public spaces at any time and in any place is a fundamental human right. However, many individuals, especially women and those diverging from the white and masculine heteronorm, experience feeling unsafe in these spaces. Areas with limited escape routes and poor visibility often foster feelings of unsafety. Such traits are common in urban green areas, particularly after dark, making them vulnerable to exploitation when safety measures are implemented. Amidst today’s climate change challenges, it is crucial to protect and maintain our existing green areas, both for their ecosystem services and their right to exist in our world. This study investigates the causes of women’s perceived safety in urban green areas and explores the complex relationships among these variables with an ecofeminist standpoint. It includes a literature review on vegetation and perceived safety, along with a case study of Pildammsparken conducted through interviews, participatory observations, and a survey to complement the collected data. Applying ecofeminist theory through an intersectional lens, the study demonstrates that vegetation alone is not the primary factor influencing perceived safety. Instead, vegetation plays a supportive role in enhancing well-being and fostering a sense of belonging. The findings indicate that the issue extends beyond the presence of vegetation, emphasizing broader societal structures and norms that shape perceptions of safety. The research highlights the importance of initiatives that enhance safety by considering vegetation and gender equality, aiming to improve inclusivity and accessibility in both established and emerging green spaces. Addressing social issues concerning women’s perceived safety in green areas, and challenging the perception of vegetation as inferior, requires integrating ecofeminism and intersectionality into decision-making processes. This approach is essential for recognizing and confronting power structures that enabl

- Abstract
The purpose of this work is to contribute with increased knowledge of what lies behind teachers’choice of teaching materials in Swedish language education. The hope is to shed light on theextent to which teachers use textbook versus self-produced teaching material. The work isessentially a qualitative study with quantitative elements, thus so-called mixed method.Furthermore, it has a phenomenographic approach with semi-structured interviews and aquantitative survey. After transcription, the empirical material was analysed according to aphenomenographic analysis model in seven steps. The theoretical framework that is the basisfor analysis and interpretation of the received data is based on a socio-cultural perspective, atextbook perspective and phenomenography. Based on the selected perspectives, previousresearch and received data, the results of the study are discussed. The results show that time, economy, and the students’ conditions are the factors that mainly control the teachers’ choiceof teaching materials. The textbook has continued to have a strong position as a teaching aid,and if teachers use teaching aids other than the textbook it is mainly by downloading materialfrom the internet.

- Abstract
The aim of this study is to understand students’ experience of their educational choices in relation to their family´s educational background and the influence of their friends. We seek to enhance the comprehension related to how educational choices develop and are shaped. To achieve this, we employed a qualitative method using semistructured interviews, allowing participants to share their opinions and values. Our sample consisted of eight respondents, aged between 20 and 30 years old. All of them are currently studying or have studied at a university. To analyse the empirical data, a thematic analysis was used based on three themes: “Motives for Studying”, “Family’s Educational Background” and “Social Circle”. The results of this study show that family opinions and values regarding higher education impact their children to varying degrees. Parental influence proved to be significant and shaped the respondents and their habitus. This was regardless of whether the parents had a higher education or not, and whether they expressed strong opinions about higher education or not. Another conclusion that can be drawn from our sample in this study is that students' social circles can also have an impact on educational decisions.

- Abstract
The current political and legal discourse in the Swedish society is how we should fight gang- and organized crime in the best way. In 2019 the current government therefore proposed a 34-point program (34-punkts programmet) proposing four focus areas to combat the problem. One tool in that toolbox is expedited prosecution (snabbare lagföring) which was introduced to streamline the process of prosecuting volume crime. The method started as a trial in Stockholm in 2018, but since 2023 has been implemented as a permanent method within the entire Police Authority as part of the program against gang crime and organized crime. The aim to understand how police officers on patrol experience the method and in the theory part, to describe how implementation theory and crime prevention in the form of deterrence are the basis. The essay has a qualitative approach where material has been collected through interviews with 8 police officers on patrol where, after transcribing, the material has been analyzed through thematic analysis. The result shows that there is no consensus in the experience of why the method was implemented, but that all respondents generally have a positive experience of the method. Furthermore, the Police Authority needs to systematically collect suggestions of improvement and further on, evaluate the method to move towards evidence-based policing.

- Abstract
The British film scholar Laura Mulvey’s essay ‘Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema’ (1975) provides an enticing mixture of political manifesto, hard-boiled theoretical argumentation and empirical film analysis. It depicts how classical Hollywood cinema reaffirms gendered power structures by incorporating the cinema audience into what Mulvey refers to as ‘the male gaze’. Drawing on psychoanalytical theory, Mulvey highlights how the spectator - through the positioning of the film camera, the editing and the way in which the narrative is constructed - is drawn into what she sees as a ‘male’ viewing position. This perspective remains influential in much of the public conversation about film and media and has inspired many feminist analyses of media and popular culture.

Understanding audiences' information-seeking behaviors during a societal crisis it vital for effective crisis communication. Prior research has identified how individuals combine information sources during a specific crisis phase. However, there is a lack of studies analyzing the stability of such behavior across phases. Therefore, this study utilizes a four-wave panel study conducted in Sweden (N = 13,718) to examine information-seeking repertoires and potential drivers across phases with different threat severity during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results from a cross-sectional latent class analysis revealed four main types of information-seeking repertoires: pluralists, traditionalists, minimalists, and news junkies. Specifically, the findings show that individuals with different socio-demographic profiles broaden their information-seeking repertoire when threat severity is high, making socio-demographic factors a poor predictor of repertoire breadth. Instead, mainstream media trust seems to play a more important role as a potential predictor of broad information-seeking repertoires including non-mainstream sources. The dynamic nature of the repertoires cautions scholars not to make generalization about information-seekers and their characteristics across different phases of a crisis and underline the importance of future research to focus on factors beyond socio-demographics. - Abstract
Two-photon polymerization (2PP) is an efficient technique to achieve high-resolution, three-dimensional (3D)-printed complex structures. However, it is restricted to photocurable monomer combinations, thus presenting constraints when aiming at attaining functionally active resist formulations and structures. In this context, metal nanoparticle (NP) integration as an additive can enable functionality and pave the way to more dedicated applications. Challenges lay on the maximum NP concentrations that can be incorporated into photocurable resist formulations due to the laser-triggered interactions, which primarily originate from laser scattering and absorption, as well as the limited dispersibility threshold. In this study, we propose an approach to address these two constraints by integrating metallic Rh NPs formed ex situ, purposely designed for this scope. The absence of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) within the visible and near-infrared spectra, coupled with the limited absorption value measured at the laser operating wavelength (780 nm), significantly limits the laser-induced interactions. Moreover, the dispersibility threshold is increased by engineering the NP surface to be compatible with the photocurable resin, permitting us to achieve concentrations of up to 2 wt %, which, to our knowledge, is significantly higher than the previously reported limit (or threshold) for embedded metal NPs. Another distinctive advantage of employing Rh NPs is their role as promising contrast agents for X-ray fluorescence (XRF) bioimaging. We demonstrated the presence of Rh NPs within the whole 2PP-printed structure and emphasized the potential use of NP-loaded 3D-printed nanostructures for medical devices.

- Abstract
This study investigates the understanding of the need for care for mental illness among newly arrived refugees and asylum seekers in Sweden during 1990-2021. The study applies a crisis narrative perspective to contextualise why and how changes in legislation occur and the understanding of it. Furthermore, the article investigates how this is described and understood in legal texts, propositions, public investigations, and reports from 1990–2021 with an analytical frame of a crisis narrative. This crisis narrative is constructed through testimonies by social secretaries, migration officers, journalists, and professors linked to migration. This will be understood from the theoretical perspectives of who has the right to have rights (Arendt, 2017) and who is grievable (Butler, 2016), as well as a holistic perspective on health using the concepts of health-lifestyle (Cockerham, 2005), empowerment and SOC- sense of coherence. This study asks: (1) How was the description of the need for care and rights for refugees and asylum seekers described in official documents? (2) How has the displacement shift in rights to health and the view of the need for care among refugees and asylum seekers looked like? and (3) What impact can the right to have rights and to be grievable have on the health issues of refugees and asylum seekers? A qualitative thematic document analysis was adopted with an exploratory design based on an inductive approach to the empirical material. A hermeneutic interpretation has been applied which means creating a deeper interpretation than the intellectually comprehensible knowledge. The result shows that the legal texts, propositions, public investigations, and reports have shifted towards a more decentralised structure with a more holistic perspective on health. Together with the witness seminars, this testifies that, paradoxically, it has led to a more individualised view of refugees, that they take responsibility for their health to a greater extent, whe

The aim of this research review is to investigate how digital games can contribute to effective language learning; what attitudes teachers have toward digital games in language teaching; and what attitudes pupils have towards digital games in language teaching. This was answered in a literature review on the subjects in question retrieved through searches of scientific articles in databases. The results of the research reviews show that digital games contribute to effective language learning because they help in the development of many competences and can easily be adapted to the needs and level of pupils. The results also showed that teachers feel uncertainties and negative attitudes towards the use of digital games, while many pupils have more positive attitudes towards applying digital games in teaching. The conclusion of the research review shows that the effectiveness of learning is affected by the attitudes of teachers and pupils towards the use of digital games in teaching.

- Abstract
WHO's goal is to eliminate cervical cancer, to accomplish that, a large number of women must participate in vaccination- and screening-programs. Women who rarely participate in screening have greatest risk of cervical cancer, therefore self-sampling is planned to be offered. There is paucity of studies on attitudes towards HPV self-sampling. Aim: Investigate women's attitudes towards HPV self-sampling. Method: Quantitative cross-sectional studie, web survey. Results were analysed with descriptive statistic and appropriate analytic statistic. Results: 408 women participated in the study and 89,7% could consider self-sampling as screening-method. Women who could consider self-sampling thought cervical cancer screening is important (p=0.02). Women preferred midwifery screening (57.8%) before self-sampling (42.2%) (p=<0.001). Anxiety about discomfort, embarrassment, difficulty, not taking the test correctly (p=0.001) and fear of pain (p=0.01) was higher among women who could not consider self-sampling. Majority of all women trusted the healthcare (97.3%) and was seen among women who could consider self-sampling (p=<0.001). Conclusion: Women have positive attitude towards HPV self-sampling. Majority could consider self-sampling but preferred midwife screening. Reliability and uncertainty about whether the test been used correctly seems to be barriers against choosing self-sampling as screening-method. Information about reliability of the method is needed before implementation so women accept the screening-method.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the attitudes and experiences of Swedish teachers and school librarians regarding collaboration to promote students' learning and reading interest. The purpose is also to investigate what perception Swedish teachers have of the school librarian's role and duties. The questions that the study seeks to answer are; How do Swedish teachers at upper secondary school perceive the school librarian's role and tasks? What are Swedish teachers and school librarians at upper secondary schools’ view of collaborating with each other to promote students' learning and reading interest? And do Swedish teachers and school librarians at upper secondary school collaborate in some way to promote students' learning and reading interest? If yes, in what way? If no, why not? The study has a qualitative approach with research interviews as data collection method. The selection group consists out of three Swedish teachers and two school librarians. All interviewees are working at secondary schools in the county. The results showed that the Swedish teachers' view of the school librarian's role and duties can be summarized in terms of organizer (of materials and events in the library), administrator (of the library's media), literary inspirer (to students and teachers) and extra adult (who is there for the students), although they had different views on the degree of these. The results also showed that both school librarians and two out of three Swedish teachers were positively disposed to collaborating in teaching. One of the Swedish teachers was critical of the collaboration with the school librarian as they considered it was not enough to significantly affect the students' learning and interest in reading. The interviewees collaborated with the school librarian and Swedish teacher respectively to very different degrees. The various forms of collaboration that the Swedish teachers testified to can be summarized as; purchase of books that the tea

- Abstract

A Deep Dive Into The Democratic Approach in a Student Association Course: STVA23: Statsvetenskaplig fortsättningskurs Author: Sofia Johansson, Oskar Jonson Advisor: Daniel Gustafsson Keywords: Democracy, association democracy, effective participation, voting equality, control of the agenda, enlightened understanding, inclusion, student associations. Purpose: This essay aims to scrutinize the democratic approach of student associations. There are not many previous research that has been completed regarding the subject. We therefore hope to offer a theoretical foundation to use for future studies and research. Methodology: This study was conducted as a case study with a hermeneutic classifying analysis. Through this method we were able to focus on what the contents of the material used actually means. By only studying one nation we were also able to really study the finer details of the democratic process. Theoretical perspectives: The theoretical perspectives in this essay is entirely based on Robert Dahl’s criterion on a democratic process. This chosen theoretical perspective has allowed the interpretation of the content in the analyzed documents and allowed a classification derived from the criterion which Dahl presents. Empirical foundation: The empirical material has been collected through the student associations archive. The scope of the empirical collection is extensive and is based on over a hundred annual and board meetings protocols. Furthermore, the students associations statutes and policies have been addressed as well. Results: The conducted research was able to identify and concretize the actions of the nation given the presented criterion on a democratic process. This allows for future research on the subject by giving a theoretical foundation to rely on when studying democracy in student associations.

- Abstract
Research Question: How has diversity impacted performance in the Asian, European and American divisions of Education First? Methodology: A qualitative case study using an abductive approach, aiming to detect how national corporate diversity impacts performance. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 13 senior managers of Education First, providing empirical findings that were triangulated with the literature review and theoretical framework in the data analysis. Theoretical Problem: The thesis aims to understand how national diversity impacts performance in the case of Education First on an international scale. Earlier studies indicate a research gap regarding the effect on performance of having different employee nationalities in one company with global operations and offices. Empirical Foundation: The empirical findings are supported by existing research, presented in the literature review, and relevant theories, including New Institutional Theory, Information Processing Theory and Social Identity Theory, outlined in the theoretical framework. Conclusion: The study demonstrates that national diversity at Education First has resulted in more positive than negative performance outcomes, while particularly emphasizing the complexities of the topic. The complex nature of performance finds significance in diversity management, enabling benefits while mitigating challenges, and external factors, such as contextual nuances.

- Abstract
A fundamental precondition for the legitimacy of democracy is a high level of trust in the electoral process. It is therefore concerning that the number of appeals regarding electoral fraud has increased, that allegations of frauds circulate on social media, and that research indicates that a significant portion of the Swedish population does not fully trust that elections are conducted in a correct manner. At the same time, there is a lack of studies examining the nature of electoral distrust and the prevalence of conspiratorial beliefs regarding Swedish elections. Hence, the purpose of this study is to investigate (a) the extent of belief in irregularities related to vote counting and ballot placement, (b) whether the proportion of those believing in such irregularities changes during an election campaign, and (c) the factors driving belief in conspiratorial claims of electoral fraud. The results of a panel study conducted during the 2022 election campaign indicate that the majority does not believe in conspiratorial claims of electoral fraud. However, there is a minority—characterized by a high degree of conspiracy thinking—who believes irregularities are common during Swedish elections. Furthermore, the results suggest that other explanatory factors for belief in electoral fraud include the use of right-wing alternative media and sympathy towards the Sweden Democrats. In contrast to beliefs in specific conspiracy theories, conspiratorial predispositions refer to people's propensity to view the world in conspiratorial terms. As such, they are one of the most important antecedents of beliefs in specific conspiracy theories. Understanding the antecedents of conspiratorial predispositions is hence important. Despite this, there is still only limited research on the antecedents of conspiratorial predispositions. Previous research has also not taken the role of media use into account, even though media constitute the most important source of politically and societally information. To remedy this, in the current study we use a large-scale panel study in Sweden to investigate the antecedents of conspiratorial predispositions, with a particular focus on the role of media use. Among other things, the results show that use of right-wing political alternative media is one of the most important antecedents of conspiratorial predispositions, even when accounting for ideological leaning and ideological extremity.
