Computer program for parametric testing saves time and effort in research and development of integrated circuits. Abstract

We describe a method for generating logic simulation code which correctly responds to any number of undefined logic values at the code inputs. The method is based on our development of the ordered ternary decision diagram, itself based on Kleenean ternary logic, which explicitly and correctly manages the unknown logic value `U' in addition to the `1' and `0' of conventional OBDDs. We describe the OTDD and how to implement its reduction, application, and restriction operations. This method avoids expensive technology mapping, producing highly efficient `U'-correct compiled logic simulation code in seconds rather than in hours. Abstract

This article examines the impact of differentiation on marital satisfaction in healthy like, healthy unlike, unhealthy like and unhealthy unlike couples. Researcher M. Bowen suggested that the degree of differentiation in one's family of origin influences one's self-esteem and mastery in later life situations. In relationships, well-differentiated persons enjoy the full range of emotional intimacy without having to sacrifice the basic self, and they are attracted to partners with the same level of differentiation. Highly differentiated spouses experience less fusion and fewer complications in relationships, whereas poorly differentiated spouses experience intense emotional fusion and increased conflict. This study is limited to residents in north-central Texas and to predominantly Protestant, Caucasian couples. Most respondents were between 30 and 49 years of age, were high school graduates, and were in their first marriage. Since differentiation affects marital satisfaction, it is crucial that clinicians conduct marital therapy in conjunction with family-of-origin therapy.

Abstract

In this article, a reader explains experiences about frustrating delays in receiving a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) and discovers a company with a limited grasp of geography. My fiancé recently announced a need for a PDA, and as a proud owner of a Dell Axim 5, I decided to purchase the newer Axim 3 as a birthday present. The order was placed and Dell Computer Corp. assured me it would arrive in time. The call centre operator found the shipment sitting in a Sydney warehouse, with no idea why it was there, then asked me if I'd like her to now ship the product. I still haven't received it. I'm prepared to wait for products if I'm given good information. I'm now in the market for a laptop; I think I'll be checking to see what Toshiba or Sony have to offer. Dell says that since receiving this letter we've confirmed the product has been delivered and sincerely apologize for the delay and inconvenience. Delivering a superior customer experience is paramount at Dell and we are able to do this through the efficiency and sophistication of our supply chain.
