Uma das limitações na adoção crotalárias na rotação de culturas é a ausência de informações quanto à seletividade de herbicidas para o controle de soja guacho. Visando buscar alternativas para o manejo da soja, foi pesquisada a seletividade de atrazine aplicada em pré-emergência de espécies de crotalária na dose de 2,5 kg ha-1 de ingrediente ativo de atrazine. O experimento foi instalado no campo experimental da Universidade Federal de Jataí, adotando-se o delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados no esquema fatorial 3x3+1, composto por três espécies de crotalárias (Crotalaria juncea, C. spectabilis, e C. breviflora), três épocas de aplicação do herbicida atrazine (20, 10 e 0 Dias Anteriores à Semeadura) e um tratamento controle (sem aplicação de atrazine) com quatro repetições. Foi avaliada a densidade de plantas de crotalária emergidas aos 10 dias após a semeadura. Aos 30, 60 e 90 dias avaliou-se a altura, a biomassa fresca e seca das plantas. Conclui-se que a aplicação do atrazine aos 0 DAS interfere no desenvolvimento inicial da Crotalaria juncea e as espécies Crotalaria spectabilis e Crotalaria breviflora não apresentam quaisquer tipos de interferência no estabelecimento e desenvolvimento das plantas quando cultivadas em solo argiloso.

The industrial seed treatment (IST) of soybeans is an economically recommended technique in agricultural production, providing protection against pests and initial pathogens. However, the real effects of pesticides about the quality of soybean seeds are still little known, since the adoption of the system is still recent by soybean farmers. The objective of this work was to evaluate the physiological quality of soybean seeds, treated or not, with insecticide/ fungicide new mixtures and stored for 240 days in a non-controlled and controlled environment. The completely randomized design was used, distributed in a 5 x 2 x 6 factorial scheme with four replications. The plot treatments consisted of soybean seeds belonging to the cultivar M - 7739 IPRO, treated with six different insecticide/ fungicide mixtures {(Cruiser®); (Amulet®); (MaximAdvanced®); (Cruiser®+ MaximAdvanced®); (MaximAdvanced® + Amulet®); (untreated control)}, stored in two environments {(laboratory – without control and cold room – with control (10 ± 2 ºC,45± 2% UR)} for eight months of storage with five evaluation times (0; 60; 120; 180 and 240days). The following tests were carried out: water content, germination, first count, seedling length and seedling dry mass. It was found that the chemical treatments negatively affect the germination potential of seeds, especially after 120 days of storage, regardless of the environment.Thiamethoxamand Thiamethoxam + Metalaxil; Tabendazole; Fludioxonil after storage provided the biggest reductions in seed viability and vigor after 240 days of storage. The cold room environment provides better conditions for the conservation of the germinative potential of soybean seeds.

The nitrogen (N) supplying capacity of common bean plants through biological fixation is still questioned by farmers. This study aimed to investigate the nodulation, growth and production of common bean cultivars under field conditions, when subjected to topdressing Rhizobium tropici reinoculation applied at different rates, combined or not with Azospirillum brasilense. A randomized blocks design was used, in a 2 × 4 × 2 + 2 factorial arrangement, with four replications. The treatments consisted of two common bean cultivars (BRS-Estilo and BRS-Esteio) reinoculated with four R. tropici rates (0-, 1-, 2- and 4-fold the reference rate), combined or not with A. brasilense in co-inoculation. The additional treatments consisted of nitrogen fertilizer applications (20 and 50 kg ha-1 at planting and as topdressing, respectively) for both cultivars. The variables evaluated at the R6 stage were nodulation (number of active nodules and nodule dry weight) and morphological plant characteristics (root length and dry weight, plant height, shoot dry weight and N content), while, at harvest, the number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod, 100-grain average weight and grain yield were evaluated. The topdressing reinoculation of R. tropici combined with A. brasilense at the V4 stage affected the nodulation process and agronomic characteristics of the common bean plants. When performed in addition to seed inoculation, it may totally replace the supply of mineral N in the crop, allowing the achievement of high yield levels.

This study aimed to evaluate the influence of cladode pruning on apical dominance in the production and post-harvest of pitaya fruits. The experiment was carried out at the Sítio das Pitaya do Pará, which is in the city of Tomé-Açu, State of Pará, Brazil. A randomized block design (RBD) in a 3 x 2 factorial scheme was used, with four replications for each treatment. Treatments consisted of three stand positions in the field (beginning, middle, and end of row) and two pruning regimes (with and without pruning). The interaction of factors Pruning and Stand position (P*SP) inhibited sprouting, while the Pruning factor provided heavier fruits and with a better pulp/peel ratio. Thus, cladode pruning provided benefits to plant management, production parameters, and post-harvest quality.

One factor limiting the achievement of high yields in the soybean crop is weed interference. The level of weed interference can vary according to the specificities of the weed community but also due to the agronomic characteristics of the soybean varieties. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of weed interference on soybean varieties of different relative maturity groups (RMG). A field experiment was implemented in a randomized complete block design, in a 3 × 4 factorial scheme, with five replications. The treatments were composed of the varieties BMX Flecha® (RMG 6.6), BMX Power® (RMG 7.3), and BMX Bônus® (RMG 7.9), associated with the following four weed managements: weeding throughout the cycle; weeded up to 20 days after emergence (DAE); weeded after 20 DAE until the end of soybean cycle; not weeded throughout the entire cycle. There was no interaction between the effects of the varieties and the weed management for emergence speed index, plant height, chlorophyll, first pod height insertion, plant population, thousand-grain weight and yield. The initial weed management caused changes in the composition of the weed community. The managements weeded throughout the cycle and weeded up until 20 DAE provided higher levels of chlorophyll and grain yield. The management without weeding during the entire cycle negatively influenced yield components. Late interventions in weed control, regardless of the soybean variety, result in yield losses.

Soybean (Glycine max) yield can be influenced by the choice of genetic material along with the use of an adequate plant population and selection of high-quality seeds. This study aimed to evaluate agronomic and physiological characteristics of soybean cultivars and their seeds, according to different plant populations. For this purpose, an experiment was conducted during the 2017/2018 harvest, under field conditions, in a randomized block design in a 3 x 4 factorial arrangement with four replicates. The treatments consisted of three soybean cultivars, TMG2181 IPRO, M 7739 IPRO, and BMX Power IPRO, at four population densities: 180,000; 220,000; 280,000 and 320,000 plants ha-1. The agronomic characteristics of the plants (plant height, stem diameter, number of branches, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, number of seeds per pod, weight of a 100 seeds and seed yield) and physiological quality (germination, first count of germination, seedling length, dry mass of the shoot and root and accelerated aging test) of these seeds were evaluated. The experiment showed that the agronomic characteristics of soybean cultivars and their seeds varied according to the genotypes, and that these phenotypic expressions can be altered according to the plant population. The indeterminate cultivar BMX Power IPRO obtained higher seed yield compared to the semi-determinate and determinate cultivars M 7739 IPRO and TMG2181 IPRO, mainly due to their field conformation and size. The indeterminate cultivar BMX Power IPRO showed higher average germination and seed hardiness and produced normal seedlings with good initial growth rate and dry weight. The yield and quality of soybean seeds were not affected by plant population.

Objetivou-se avaliar a formação de mudas de tomate cv. Santa Cruz Kada (Paulista) com incorporação de compostos orgânicos em distintas proporções no substrato comercial. Empregou-se o delineamento inteiramente casualizados, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram constituídos das combinações: [T1-substrato comercial; T2-substrato comercial+torta de mamona 2,5 %; T3-substrato comercial+torta de mamona 5,0%; T4–substrato comercial+esterco de bovino 20,0%; T5-substrato comercial+esterco de bovino 25,0%; T6–substrato comercial+esterco de aves 10.0 % e T7–substrato comercial+esterco de aves 15,0 %. A mistura contendo 75% de substrato comercial com 25% de esterco de bovino possibilitou a produção de mudas de tomate de melhor qualidade.

Com a finalidade de tratar lotes de sementes durante o processo de beneficiamento as sementeiras passam a utilizar o tratamento industrial de sementes (TIS). Todavia, não se sabe ainda qual a real influência TIS sobre a qualidade fisiológica de sementes de soja ao longo do armazenamento. Este trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar os efeitos do tratamento com produtos químicos oriundos do TIS sobre a qualidade fisiológica de sementes de cultivares de soja durante o armazenamento. Três cultivares de soja (M7110 IPRO; RR- 8473RSF, M7739 IPRO) foram submetidas a quatro combinações de tratamentos com defensivos químicos (fungicida/inseticida) aplicados via TIS: {T1- testemunha; T2- fungicida (Derosal Plus® - 200mL); T3- inseticida (Cruiser ® - 500mL); T4- mistura dos produtos fungicida e inseticida}, e armazenadas por seis meses, com avaliações mensais (0; 30; 60; 90; 120; 150 e 180 dias). As sementes foram armazenadas em câmara fria regulada a 12 ± 2 ºC e umidade relativa de ±45%. Além da determinação do teor de água, foram realizadas teste de germinação e vigor : primeira contagem, comprimento de plântula, massa seca de plântula e envelhecimento acelerado. Foi empregado o delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 3 x 4 x 7, com quatro repetições.Os dados obtidos foram submetidos à análise de variância inicialmente, e posteriormente discriminados pelo teste de Tukey (p < 0,05) (cultivares e produtos químicos) e regressão (período de armazenamento). Conclui-se com o trabalho que o uso de inseticida favoreceu o comprimento de plântulas na cultivar RR-8473 RSF. Produtos químicos prejudicaram a qualidade e o vigor de sementes em todas as cultivares estudadas. As sementes de soja podem ser mantidas armazenadas com tratamento químico para fins comerciais até os 60 dias.

The complexity of the statistical models used to estimate the productivity of many crops, including soybeans, restricts the use of this practice, but an alternative is the use of artificial neural networks (ANNs). This study aimed to estimate soybean productivity based on growth habit, sowing density and agronomic characteristics using an ANN multilayer perceptron (MLP). Agronomic data from experiments conducted during the 2013/2014 soybean harvest in Anápolis, Goiás State, B razil, were used to conduct this study after being normalized to an ANN-compatible range. Then, several ANNs were trained to choose the best-performing one. After training the network, a performance analysis was conducted to select the ANN with a performance most appropriate for the problem, and the selected network had a 98% success rate with training data and a 72% data validation accuracy. The application of the MLP to the data used in the experiment shows that it is possible to estimate soybean productivity based on agronomic characteristics, growth habit and population density through AI.

The sorghum and brachiaria intercropping shows potential to produce grains and straw. However, few studies have been made to select cultivars for the intercropping conditions, in off-season cultivation, at Central-West region of Brazil. The objective of this study was to select sorghum and brachiaria cultivars intercropped in the row, in off-season cultivation, to obtain grains and straw. The experimental was carried out at Rio Verde-GO in the 2010 off-season cultivation. The experimental design was the randomized blocks, in scheme factorial 2x5+2+5 corresponding to two cultivars of grain sorghum (BRS 310 and DKB 599) intercropped in the row with five brachiaria cultivars (Brachiaria brizantha cv. Xaraés, Marandu and Piatã, B. decumbens and B. ruziziensis). Additionally, it was carried out seven additional treatments related to monocultures of the two sorghum cultivars and five of the brachiaria. The results demonstrated that the sorghum BRS 310 intercropped with B. ruziziensis and B. brizantha Xaraés provided higher total crude protein, dry matter (straw) and grain yields, being the same fact observed for the DKB 599 intercropped with the B. decumbens. The hybrid DKB 599 showed higher yield potential, but also greater sensitivity to competition with the brachiaria plants. In certain treatments, the brachiaria crop caused reduction of sorghum stand, and thus, decreased the grain yield. The grain sorghum and brachiaria intercropping, in off-season cultivation, shows to be a viable growth technique to produce grains and straw in the Central-West region of Brazil.

O consórcio tem sido utilizado para produção de grãos e forragem, porém poucos estudos foram realizados com a cultura do sorgo granífero na região Centro-Oeste. Portanto, o objetivo deste trabalho foi o de identificar, na safrinha, o consórcio de sorgo e braquiária, implantadas em duas profundidades de semeadura, que proporcione maiores rendimentos de grãos, massa seca (palhada) e proteína bruta (forragem) com dois cortes nas plantas de braquiária na entressafra. O ensaio foi instalado a campo, em Rio Verde-GO em 05 de março de 2009. Utilizou-se o delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 2x3+1+3, correspondendo a duas profundidades de semeadura da braquiária (2 e 10 cm) e três espécies de braquiária (Brachiaria decumbens (Staf), B. brizantha (Hoschst) cv. Marandu e B. ruziziensis Germain et Evrard) semeadas na entrelinha do sorgo granífero DKB 599, além de quatro tratamentos adicionais sendo um para o monocultivo de sorgo e outros três para cada espécie de braquiária. Os resultados permitiram constatar que o consórcio do sorgo granífero com braquiária na entrelinha apresentou potencial para produção de grãos (exceto da associação com a B. decumbens, semeada a 10 cm de profundidade, e com a B. ruziziensis, semeada a 2 cm), massa seca e proteína bruta, demonstrando a viabilidade para o sistema de cultivo em plantio direto na região Central do Brasil.

O crambe apresenta potencial de cultivo para as regiões tropicais, sobretudo, para o Centro-Oeste brasileiro, podendo ser considerada como uma opção à tão limitada lista de espécies disponíveis para a safrinha. Contudo, a expansão da área de cultivo desta Brassicacea somente ocorrerá com o fornecimento de sementes de qualidade, e para isso os conhecimentos sobre os procedimentos de secagem são relevantes. Este trabalho foi realizado com a finalidade de avaliar a qualidade fisiológica de sementes de crambe submetidas à secagem. Para tanto, foram avaliadas sementes com cinco teores de água (10; 12; 15; 20; 22% b.u), submetidas a cinco temperaturas de secagem do ar (30; 40; 50; 60 e 70 ºC). Os testes utilizados para análise foram: teste de germinação, primeira contagem da germinação, comprimento de plântulas e condutividade elétrica. Conclui-se que a temperatura entre 40 a 60 ºC propiciaram melhor desempenho fisiológico nos testes de viabilidade e vigor de sementes de crambe. A temperatura de 70 ºC foi prejudicial ao desempenho fisiológico das sementes de crambe. Teores de água acima de 12% b.u. sob faixas de temperaturas entre 40 a 60 ºC, podem interferir positivamente na quebra de dormência das sementes de crambe.

Aiming to evaluate the sorghum intercropping on the line in two seeding dephts of brachiaria species, a trial was conducted on the field in february 2009 in Rio Verde, GO. The experimental design used was randomized blocks in factorial scheme 2x3+1+3, with four replications, being made up two brachiaria sowing depths (2 and 10 cm), three brachiaria species (Brachiaria decumbens, B. brizantha cv. Marandu and B. ruziziensis) intercropped with the sorghum DKB 599, plus four additional treatments of sorghum and brachiaria monocultures. At 52 days after to harvest the sorghum grains, it was made up the cutting on brachiaria at 30 cm from the soil to explore the regrowth of plants in off-season cultivation, and further evaluation of forage yield at 36 days after the cutting. The intercropping in the line with B. brizantha, at 2 or 10 cm sowing depth, and with B. decumbens, sown at 2cm, appeared as the most promising for sorghum grain production. The brachiaria and sorghum intercropping in the line increased the total dry matter and crude protein yields. The regrowth of brachiaria plants in the intercropping showed to be a technique viable for forage production and soil cover in dry season at Brazil cerrado.

The intercropping has been shown as effective cultivation technique to rise the production from the simultaneous cultivation of different species in the same area. Thus, the objective of this research was to evaluate, in off-season cultivation, the forage and grains production in off-season by interrow intercropping of grain sorghum with brachiaria in two sowing depths. The experiment was carried out in field in Rio Verde-GO, on March 5, 2009. The experimental design used was the randomized blocks in factorial scheme 2x3+1+3 with four replications, corresponding to two brachiaria sowing depths (2 and 10 cm), three brachiaria species (Brachiaria decumbens, B. brizantha cv. Marandú and B. ruziziensis) and four additional treatments of sorghum and three brachiaria species (monocultures). The grain sorghum used was the DKB 599. The evaluation of the brachiaria forage yield was made up at 98 days after the sorghum harvest. The interrow intercropping of sorghum with Brachiaria ruziziensis, regardless the sowing depth, and with B. brizantha, sowed in 2 cm depth, did not cause reductions in grain yield. The interrow intercropping with brachiaria possible increases in dry matter and crude protein total yields of the forage. The sorghum and brachiaria intercropping in off-season cultivation shows to be a promising cultivation technique to produce grains and forage (dry matter and crude protein) in cerrado conditions.

Neste trabalho objetivou-se estudar a cinética de secagem do feijão-caupi (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.), ajustar diferentes modelos matemáticos aos valores experimentais em função do teor de água e, determinar o coeficiente de difusão e a energia de ativação dos grãos durante a secagem. Os grãos de feijão-caupi foram submetidos à secagem sob as temperaturas de 25; 35; 45 e 55 ± 1 ºC em secador experimental até o teor de água de aproximadamente 13% b.s. Realizou-se uma análise de regressão não linear para o ajuste de 12 modelos matemáticos aos dados experimentais de secagem. O coeficiente de difusão efetivo foi obtido por meio do ajuste do modelo matemático da difusão líquida. A variação do coeficiente de difusão de acordo com a temperatura de secagem foi analisada pelo modelo de Arrhenius, o qual permitiu a determinação da energia de ativação. O modelo de Henderson e Pabis Modificada foi o que melhor representou o processo de secagem do feijão-caupi. O coeficiente de difusão apresentou valores entre 8,84 x 10-8 e 20,17 x 10-8 m² s-1. A relação do coeficiente de difusão com a temperatura de secagem pode ser descrita pela equação de Arrhenius, apresentando uma energia de ativação de 27,16 kJ mol-1.This work aimed to study the drying kinetics of the cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.), adjust different mathematical models to the experimental values as a function of water content, and determine the diffusion coefficient and the activation energy of the grains during drying. The cowpea grains were dried at temperatures of 25; 35; 45 and 55 ± 1 ºC in an experimental dryer to a water content of approximately 13% db. A nonlinear regression analysis was carried out to adjust 12 mathematical models to the experimental drying-data. The effective diffusion coefficient was obtained by adjusting the mathematical model of liquid diffusion. The variance of the diffusion coefficient according to the drying temperature was analysed by the Arrhenius equation, which allowed determination of the activation energy. The Henderson and Modified Pabis model best represented the drying process of the cowpea. The diffusion coefficient presented values of between 8.84 x 10-8 and 20.17 x 10-8 m² s-1. The ratio of the diffusion coefficient to the drying temperature can be described by the Arrhenius equation, having an activation energy of 27.16 kJ mol-1.

Elevated productivity of castor and common bean in intercropping is obtained with the use of quality seeds, where boron plays an important role in plant nutrition. The objective of the this study was to evaluate the physiological quality of seeds of the common bean and castor grown in intercropping syste ms, subject to different sources and levels of boron. A completely randomized design was used in a 2 x 5 + 2 facto- rial scheme with four replications. Treatments cons isted of two sources of boron (borax = 11% B and bo ric acid = 17% B), combined with five boron doses (0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 kg ha -1 of B in the soil) in intercropping of the common bean with castor, plus additional treatm ents of common bean and castor in monoculture. It w as concluded that boric acid permitted for acquisition of common bean seeds with the highest germination per- centage when intercropped with castor. Use of the d ose of 1.5 kg ha -1 of boron in the soil resulted in acquisition of seeds of the common bean with vigor of 79% when intercropped with castor, regardless of the boron s ource. Employing 2.3 kg ha -1 of boron, with the source being either boric acid or borax, influenced the vigor of castor seeds produced when intercropped with the common be an. The addition of boron by soil fertilization, in de- pendent of the source used, did not affect the phys iological quality of common bean seeds or castor se eds pro- duced in monoculture.

High yields in intercropped only be attained with the adequate selection of an adequate plants arrangement system; therefore the aim of this project was to investigate which plat arrangement would better perform in a common beans/castor bean intercropping system. The experimental design was a completely randomized bloc with five replicates and four simultaneous sowings: beans sown on the castor beans row; beans sown between castor beans rows; beans sown on the row and between castor beans rows, and common beans and castor beans in monocrop. Results obtained from castor beans crop yields were not affected when intercropped with common beans. This intercropping system with castor showed that common beans cv. Pérola on the row and between rows provided higher yield of the legume. In general, the intercropping of common beans+castor beans is more efficient than the single crop system.

Processing is an important phase in the seed industry. It encompasses important steps to attain seed quality and high performance. The objective of this work was to evaluate the physiological quality of soybean seed cultivars during important steps of that process. A completely randomized design in a 4 x 5 factorial arrangement with four replicates was used. Samples of three soybean cultivars (Vencedora, Emgopa 313, Luziânia - non transgenic and one genetically modified – Valiosa) were drawn in five points of the processing chain: 1º - seed dryer; 2º – bucket elevator number 1; 3º – bucket elevator number 2; 4º - bucket elevator number 3; and 5º – seed spiral separator. The following tests were performed: germination, first count, accelerated aging, electrical conductivity and tetrazolium (viability and vigor). Results obtained indicated that seeds from cultivars Emgopa-313, Luziânia and Valiosa - RR presented physiological quality higher than Vencedora, in all stages of processing. To cultivar seeds of Vencedora, the number of elevators mug during the stages of drying and processing time increased the percentage of mechanical damage to seed.Na busca de sementes de alto padrão de qualidade, a fase de beneficiamento configura-se como importante etapa. Objetivou com este trabalho avaliar a qualidade fisiológica de sementes de cultivares de soja durante o processo de beneficiamento. Empregou-se o delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial 4 x 5, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram constituídos de quatro cultivares de soja (Vencedora, Emgopa-313, Luziânia – não transgênicas e Valiosa – transgênica) coletadas em cinco pontos de amostragem (1º – secador; 2º – elevadores de caneca número 1; 3º – elevadores de caneca número 2; 4º – elevadores de caneca número 3 e 5º – espiral). A qualidade fisiológica das sementes foi avaliada pelos seguintes testes: germinação, primeira contagem, envelhecimento acelerado, condutividade elétrica e tetrazólio (viabilidade e vigor). As sementes de soja das cultivares Emgopa-313, Valiosa - RR e Luziânia apresentaram qualidade fisiológica superior à Vencedora, em todas as etapas do beneficiamento. Para as sementes da cultivar Vencedora, o grande número de elevadores de caneca no decorrer das etapas de secagem e no beneficiamento propiciou aumento na porcentagem de dano mecânico à semente.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of sources of silicon on the agronomic traits and on Si content on B. decumbens cv. Brasilisk and P. maximum, cv. Mombaça cultivated in a B horizon soil collected from a Latosol at the “Zona da Mata Mineira”, Brazil. The experimental design was a completely randomized block in a 4 x 2 factorial, with four replications. Treatments consisted of three sources of silicon (sodium silicate, rocksil and potassium silicate, with doses of 40 g L-1 of Si) and a control, all combined with two forage grass species (B. decumbens cv, Basilisk and P. maximum cv. Mombaça). Results showed that Si sprayed on leaves promoted increase in dry biomass content in the second and third harvests of P. maximum. Foliar fertilization with Si also increased silicon absorption in both species, especially in the second and third harvests. The there silicon sources did not differ among them, as a source of silicon applied on leaves.Objetivou com este estudo avaliar a utilização de diferentes fontes de silício (Si) sobre as características agronômicas e conteúdos foliares de Si em B. decumbens cv. Basilisk e P. maximum cv. Mombaça tendo como substrato o horizonte B de um Latossolo da Zona da Mata Mineira. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos inteiramente casualizados, em esquema fatorial 4 x 2, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos constaram de três fontes de Si (silicato de sódio, rocksil e silicato de potássio, com doses correspondentes a 40 g L-1 de Si) e uma testemunha, combinadas com as duas espécies de gramíneas (B. decumbens cv. Basilisk e P. maximum cv. Mombaça). Conclui-se que aplicações foliares de Si promoveram acréscimos na produção de matéria seca de P. maximum no segundo e terceiro cortes. As aplicações foliares de Si proporcionaram maior absorção de silício nas duas espécies estudadas, especialmente no segundo e terceiro corte. As fontes de Si testadas (rocksil, silicato de potássio ou silicato de cálcio) não diferiram entre si, quanto à capacidade de fornecimento de Si adicionado via foliar.

In Brazil, especially in the state of Goiás, bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) are largely cropped in small and mean farms where the association beans+corn is predominant. The castor beans has draw the attention as a promising crop for biodiesel production, and being suggested by federal authorities as a primary choice in family run small farmer¿s agricultural projects. However, to attain that purpose, a careful selection of high yielding varieties is imperative. The objective was to assess the bean cultivars intercropped with castor bean in "Cerrado". The experimental design was a completely randomized block, in a 6 x 2 + 1 factorial, with four replications. Treatments comprised a combination of six cultivars of beans (Pérola, Pontal, Requinte, Grafite, Diamante Negro and Radiante) grown under two cropping systems (non-intercropped and intercropped castor bean), and the additional treatment of the castor beans non-intercropped. Bean cultivar Pérola yield best when intercropped as well as when single crop. Castor bean cultivar Paraguaçu performed similarly in both cropping systems. Bean yield decreased in the intercropping, but in the range of 38 to 71% was more efficient than in single crop.

As produções de feijão-caupi, atualmente, no Brasil, são baixas em função, especialmente, do uso de materiais de baixa capacidade produtiva, associado à utilização de sementes de baixa qualidade. Assim, objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar as características agronômicas e qualidade fisiológica de sementes de diferentes cultivares de caupi nas condições edafoclimáticas do cerrado goiano. Empregou-se o delineamento de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram constituídos por oito cultivares de caupi (BRS Guariba, BRS 17 Gurguéia, BRS Rouxinol, BRS Marataoã, Patativa, BRS Tracuateua, BRS Milênio e CE 315), recomendados para as regiões Norte e Nordeste do Brasil. O efeito dos tratamentos foram significativos para todos os caracteres avaliados. As cultivares BRS Guariba, BRS 17 Gurguéia e BRS Marataoã apresentaram menores problemas com oídio. Os genótipos de caupi mais produtivos foram BRS Guariba e BRS Gurguéia, com 2.211 e 2.196 kg ha-1 de grãos, respectivamente. A qualidade fisiológica de sementes de caupi foi influenciada pelas cultivares testadas. As cultivares de tegumento colorido caupi CE 315, BRS Gurguéia, BRS Rouxinol, BRS Marataoã e Patativa produziram sementes de melhor qualidade fisiológica, comparativamente, com as cultivares de tegumento branco BRS Tracuateua, BRS Milênio e BRS Guariba.The productivities of cowpea are low, depending on the use of low productivity capacity cultivar planted, associated with the use of low-quality seeds. The objective of this work was to evaluate the agronomic characteristics and physiological quality in seed lots of different cultivar of cowpea in the "Cerrado", Goiás State, Brazil. The experimental design was a complete block with four replicates. The treatments were eight cultivar of cowpea (BRS Guariba, BRS 17 Gurguéia, BRS Rouxinol, BRS Marataoã, Patativa, BRS Tracuateua, BRS Milênio e CE 315), recommended for the North and Northeast regions of Brazil. The effects of the treatments were considerable for all the characteristics assessed. The cultivar BRS Guariba, BRS 17 Gurguéia and BRS Marataoã, presented less intense powdery mildew symptoms. The cultivar presenting higher yield were BRS Guariba and BRS Gurguéia, with 2,211 and 2,196 kg ha-1 of grain, respectively. The results showed that physiological seed quality influenced productivity of the cultivar. The cultivar BRS CE 315, BRS Gurguéia, BRS Rouxinol, BRS Marataoã and Patativa, with colored hull, produced seeds of better physiological quality compared, to the cultivar of white hull BRS Tracuateua, BRS Milênio and BRS Guariba.

The objective of the research was to evaluate the effects of row spacing on agronomic characteristics of three sunflower hybrids. The trial was carried out in Rio Verde, Goiás State, Brazil. The hybrids tested were Agrobel 960, BRHS 5, and Hélio 251, in four row spacing (40 cm, 50 cm, 70 cm, and 80 cm), in a population of 45.000 plants ha-1. The hybrids were planted in March 12, 2005, after bean grown in the summer season, and harvested in July 5. Achene yield and thousand weight, capitulum size, number of achenes per capitulum, and plant height were evaluated. The Agrobel 960 hybrid presented the largest achene yield and the smallest height. The larger yield of Agrobel 960 was attributed to the higher number of achenes per capitulum. The sunflower hybrids did not present significant differences for achene thousand weight and capitulum size. The 40 cm row spacing presented larger achene yield and number of achenes per capitulum. However, it did not influence the achene thousand weight, capitulum size, and plant height. KEY-WORDS: Helianthus annuus; plant arrangement; yield components; double cropping. Com o objetivo de avaliar o efeito do espaçamento entre linhas, nas características agronômicas de três híbridos de girassol, foi conduzido um ensaio em Rio Verde (GO). Utilizaram-se os híbridos Agrobel 960, BRHS 5 e Hélio 251, cultivados nos espaçamentos de 40 cm, 50 cm, 70 cm e 80 cm entre linhas, com população estável de 45.000 plantas ha-1, após cultivo de feijão na safra de verão. A semeadura foi realizada em 12 de março e a colheita em 5 de julho de 2005. Avaliaram-se a produtividade e o peso de 1.000 aquênios, o diâmetro do capítulo, o número de aquênios por capítulo e a altura de plantas. Os resultados obtidos permitiram concluir que o híbrido de girassol Agrobel 960 apresentou maior produtividade, mesmo sendo o de menor porte. Tal produtividade foi atribuída ao maior número de aquênios por capítulo. Os híbridos de girassol não diferiram, quanto ao peso de 1.000 aquênios e diâmetro do capítulo. O espaçamento de 40 cm entre linhas apresentou a maior produtividade e número de aquênios por capítulo, não influenciando o peso de 1.000 aquênios, o diâmetro do capítulo e a altura de plantas de girassol. Objetivou-se, neste trabalho, estudar a produção de flores da capuchinha e das " cabeças" do repolho, cultivadas como culturas solteiras e consorciadas. Foi estudada a capuchinha 'Jewel' (Ca), em cultivo solteiro e consorciado com os repolhos de folhas verdes 'Sooshu' (RV) ou roxas 'Red Extra Early' (RR), sob duas (2) ou três (3) fileiras de plantas no canteiro. Os dez tratamentos resultantes (Ca2, Ca3, RV2, RV3, RR2, RR3, Ca2RV3, Ca3RV2, Ca2RR3, Ca3RR2) foram arranjados no delineamento experimental blocos casualizados, com três repetições. As colheitas das flores da capuchinha foram efetuadas entre 30 e 155 dias após o transplante (DAT) e as das " cabeças" dos repolhos, entre 102 e 140 DAT. O maior número de flores e a maior massa fresca das flores da capuchinha foi em cultivo solteiro (12.022.220 ha-1 e 8,20 t ha-1, respectivamente). No consórcio, os maiores valores foram com o repolho roxo (7.555.560 ha-1 e 5,04 t ha-1, respectivamente). As produções médias de massas fresca das " cabeças" do repolho com folhas verdes em cultivo solteiro e consorciado foram de 33,78 e 35,76 t ha-1 e do repolho roxo foram de 23,19 e 19,50 t ha-1, respectivamente. O cálculo da razão de área equivalente foi de 1,56 (Ca2RV3), 1,33 (Ca3RV2), 1,30 (Ca2RR3) e 1,45 (Ca3RR2), indicando ser viável cultivar em consórcio. Considerando a renda bruta, pode-se concluir que o consórcio da capuchinha e do repolho foi viável para o produtor de repolho, devendo optar-se pelo arranjo Ca2RV3. O produtor de capuchinha deve optar pelo cultivo solteiro, com duas fileiras no canteiro.This work has as aim to study yield of nasturtium flowers and of cabbage 'heads' that were cultivated as monocrops and intercrops. 'Jewel' nasturtium (Ca) was studied in monocrop and intercropped with 'Sooshu' green leaves (RV) or 'Red Extra Early' purple leaves (RR) cabbages, under two (2) or three (3) rows of plants per plot. The ten resultant treatments (Ca2, Ca3, RV2, RV3, RR2, RR3, Ca2RV3, Ca3RV2, Ca2RR3, Ca3RR2) were arranged in a randomized block experimental outline, with three replications. Harvests of nasturtium flowers were between 30 and 155 days after transplant (DAT) and the ones of cabbages between 102 and 140 DAT. The highest number and the greatest fresh mass of nasturtium flowers (12,022,220 ha-1 and 8.20 t ha-1, respectively) were obtained from monocrop system. For intercropping, the highest values were with purple cabbage (7,555,560 ha-1 and 5.04 t ha-1, respectively. Average yields of fresh mass of cabbage plants of green leaves in monocrop system and intercropped were of 33.78 and 35.76 t ha-1 and of plants with purple leaves were of 23.19 and 19.50 t ha-1, respectively. Land Equivalent Ratios were 1.56 (Ca2RV3), 1.33 (Ca3RV2), 1.30 (Ca2RR3) and 1.45 (Ca3RR2), what indicates that is viable to cultivate in monocrop system. Considering the gross income one may conclude that the intercrop of nasturtium and cabbage was viable for cabbage producer, who must opt for the Ca3RR2 arrangement. For nasturtium producer, the monocrop system with two rows per plot was the best.

Este trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar, em diferentes épocas de cultivo a produção do feijoeiro, submetido à aplicação foliar de fontes e doses de zinco. Foi utilizado o delineamento de blocos casualizados, em esquema fatorial 3 x 2 x 5, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos envolveram a combinação de três safras de cultivo (inverno, águas e seca), duas fontes de zinco (sulfato e cloreto de zinco) e cinco doses de zinco (0, 100, 200, 400 e 800 g ha-1), aplicadas via foliar, aos 25 e 35 dias após emergência da cultura.Na safra de inverno, foram obtidos os maiores rendimentos de grãos e de seus componentes (número de vagens por planta e número de grãos por vagem) e teor foliar de zinco, comparativamente, às safras das águas e seca. Não houve efeito da interação entre épocas desemeadura, doses e fontes de zinco. Em solos com teor de Zn próximo de 2,1 mg dm-3, não houve aumento de produtividade para o feijoeiro com a utilização de cloreto ou sulfato de zinco, aplicados via foliar.This work was carried out with the objective of evaluating dry bean yield in different seasons, submitted to foliar application of different sources and doses of zinc. A randomized block design with four replications was used in a 3 x 2 x 5 factorial arrangement. The treatments were formed by the combination of three growing seasons(“fall/winter”, “spring/summer” and “fall/summer” seasons), two zinc sources (zinc sulfate and zinc chloride) and five zinc doses (0, 100, 200, 400 and 800 g ha-1), divided into leaf sprayings at 25 and 35 days after emergence (DAE). For the winter crop, a greater increasewas observed in grain yield, its main components (number of pods per plant and number of grains per plant) and leaf-zinc content, as compared to the other two seasons. There was no interaction between growing seasons, doses and sources of zinc. In soils with zinc contentof 2.1 mg dm-3, the addition of this nutrient by foliar application did not result in increase of bean yield.

In Brazil, the crop of sorghum is often used in the silage form and in order to have higher forage yield, it is necessary to use cultivars that are more adapted to the region where it is grown. In order to evaluate the agronomic potential of forage sorghum cultivars in off season cultivation in the southwestern of the State of Goiás, experiments were carried out in Montividiu, Rio Verde and Santa Helena de Goiás. The experimental design of random blocks with four repetitions was used. The following sorghum cultivars were used: BR 700, 1F305, Volumax, VDH 422 and Nutrigrain, sown in March 05, 2005. In the harvest, the evaluated characteristics were: dry matter yield, height of plants, cycles for flowering and harvest, and percentages of leaves, stem and panicle in dry matter. The results indicated the presence of the interaction genotype vs. environment for dry matter yield, height of plants, cycles for flowering and harvest and panicle percentage in dry matter, but the differences between the cultivars in leaves and stem percentage was not influenced by environments. The cultivars that were harvested later presented higher dry matter yields.

Intercrop is a system used as a way of increase yield and income per unit of area. So it makes possible the maximum use of environment resources, besides it promotes ecological equilibrium. Considering the advantages that the intercrop system can offer for vegetable cultivation, which is characterized by intense management and soil exposing, this work shows the main aspects related to intercrop systems of vegetables.A associação de culturas é uma técnica empregada para aumentar a produtividade e lucro por unidade de área. Desta forma, possibilita a maximização da utilização de recursos ambientais, além de promover equilíbrio ecológico. Considerando as vantagens que esta prática pode oferecer no cultivo de hortaliças, setor agrícola caracterizado por intenso manejo e exposição do solo, o presente trabalho apresenta os principais aspectos relacionados aos sistemas de consorciamento de hortaliças.

The occurrence of micronutrient deficiencies, mainly of manganese (Mn) and zinc (Zn) in "cerrado" soils, has been increasing in several crops, including bean. Such a problem is caused by high rates of liming material applied entirely on the soil surface. In this study, the effects of the leaf application of Mn and Zn rates were evaluated. Three experiments were carried out: two in greenhouse and one under field conditions. The greenhouse experiments were set up using a randomized block design and a 5 x 5 factorial, with three replicates, consisting of five rates of Mn (0, 75, 150, 300, and 600 g ha-1) and five rates of Zn (0, 50, 100, 200, and 400 g ha-1) applied via leaves at the 25th day, or both alternatively parceled at 25 and 35 days after emergency (DAE), respectively, for the first and second experiments. In the field experiment, a randomized block design was used with four replicates, and the same treatments as those used in the greenhouse. Leaf applications performed at 25 and 35 DAE were efficient in correcting the symptoms of the Mn and Zn deficiencies. The combined application of Mn and Zn caused an increase in plant height, primary yield components as number of grains per pod, number of pods per plant, and productivity itself. The maximum technical efficiency was obtained with 315 g ha-1 Mn and 280 g ha-1 Zn for a bean productivity of 2.275 kg ha-1, corresponding to 60% above control.

At a comparison with macronutrients, it can maintain that to possess few information on nutritionals aspects referring to micronutrients on beans. This work aims to verify the effect of different rates of manganese and zinc leaf applied on the mineral nutrition cultivated on a “cerrado” soil. A randomized blocks design, with four repetitions, at a factorial outline 5 x 5 was used, involving five rates of Mn (0, 75, 150, 300 and 600 g ha-1) and five rates of Zn (0, 50, 100, 200 and 400 g ha-1) sprayed twice at 25 and 35 days after emergency. It was concluded that the foliar addition of manganese and zinc increased linearly the foliar contents of Mn and Zn. The rates corresponding to maximum technical efficiency of Mn and Zn (315 and 280 g ha-1, respectively) resulted increments the leaf content of N, K, Ca, Mg, S, B, Cu and Fe. Furthermore, there was a marked decrease on P content, under the application of manganese, mainly in the presence of the zinc. Excepting contents of Mn and Zn, there was all the nutrients decreased when used rates higher of maxim technical efficiency of Mn and Zn (315 and 280 g ha-1, respectively).Em comparação com os macronutrientes, que há poucas informações sobre os aspectos nutricionais referentes aos micronutrientes na cultura do feijoeiro. Este trabalho teve por objetivo verificar o efeito de diferentes doses de manganês e zinco aplicadas via foliar sobre a nutrição mineral do feijoeiro cultivado em solo de cerrado. Empregou-se o delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições, em esquema fatorial 5 x 5 envolvendo cinco doses de Mn (0, 75, 150, 300 e 600 g ha-1) e cinco doses de Zn (0, 50, 100, 200 e 400 g ha-1), fracionadas em duas aplicações foliares, aos 25 e 35 dias após emergência da cultura. Conclui-se que a adição foliar de Mn e Zn aumentou linearmente os teores foliares destes nutrientes. As doses correspondentes á máxima eficiência técnica de Mn e Zn (315 e 280 g ha-1, respectivamente) propiciaram acréscimos nos teores foliares de N, K, Ca, Mg, S, B, Cu e Fe. Houve ainda decréscimo acentuado no teor de P, com a aplicação do manganês, principalmente na presença do zinco. De modo geral, à exceção dos teores de Mn e Zn, houve decréscimos em todos os nutrientes analisados nas dosagens superiores àquelas consideradas de máxima eficiência técnica, ou seja, 315 e 280 g ha-1 de manganês e zinco, respectivamente.

O uso de novos cultivares de milho na safrinha tem proporcionado aumentos expressivos no rendimento de grãos, o que tem aumentado a lucratividade com a cultura no Centro-Oeste. Porém, devido ao grande número de híbridos disponíveis no mercado, há a necessidade de avaliação para escolher aqueles que proporcionem maiores rendimentos de grãos e retornos financeiros ao produtor rural. Portanto objetivou-se neste trabalho avaliar os desempenhos agronômico e econômico de híbridos de milho no período da safrinha na região Centro-Oeste. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos consistiram de trinta e seis híbridos de milho, sendo quatro pré-comerciais. O híbrido P30S31 foi utilizado como testemunha. Para avaliar a performance dos materiais, efetuaram-se avaliações de características agronômicas e econômicas. Os resultados obtidos permitiram constatar maior rendimento de grãos e rentabilidade econômica com o cultivo dos híbridos AS1575, DKB390, P30S31 e P4042. Dentre os híbridos pré-comerciais, o RB9210 apresentou maior rendimento de grãos na safrinha. A maior rentabilidade econômica do milho safrinha foi obtida por meio do maior rendimento de grãos. Também foi constatada correlação positiva do peso de mil grãos, população e altura de plantas com o rendimento de grãos, sendo o oposto verificado para severidade de doenças foliares.

O combustível fóssil dá sinais de esgotamento das suas reservas além de afetar o meio ambiente devido à poluição decorrente de sua queima. Surgiu assim um novo desafio: encontrar um combustível substituto que seja renovável e que seja menos poluente. O biodiesel surgiu como potencial substituto do combustível fóssil, por ser oriundo de várias matérias primas, reduzir o impacto ambiental gerado por poluição e ainda trazer vários benefícios sociais. Porém essa tecnologia é nova e ainda precisa ser aperfeiçoada. Vários trabalhos científicos vêm surgindo com o intuito de trazer melhoria para o biodiesel. Por meio da Cienciometria é possível saber a tendência de pesquisa desses trabalhos, sendo este fato importante para a sociedade acadêmica, para que possam ser realizados novos estudos de biodiesel. Sendo assim, objetivou-se neste trabalho fazer uma análise cienciométrica do biodiesel. O banco de dados utilizado foi o "SciVerseScopus". Foi realizada uma busca de todos os trabalhos que possuía no título a palavra biodiesel*. Os trabalhos foram analisados a partir de 1993, primeiro ano de registro para o termo, até 2010. As seguintes informações foram levantadas: a)Ano de publicação, b)Tipo de trabalho, c)Tipo do periódico em que o trabalho foi publicado, d)Nome do periódico em que o trabalho foi publicado, e)Área de concentração, f)Palavras-chave, g)Idioma, h)País de publicação, e i)Matéria prima utilizada para a obtenção do biodiesel estudado em trabalhos brasileiros. De uma forma geral os trabalhos analisados acompanham as tendências mundiais de produção e consumo do biodiesel, mostrando-se importantes para o aperfeiçoamento desta tecnologia.

O consorciamento de culturas é de uso comum no Brasil, especialmente na pequena propriedade. Contudo, a vantagem efetiva dessa técnica em relação ao monocultivo se torna mais evidente quando as culturas envolvidas apresentam diferenças entre seu ciclo e suas exigências. Assim, este experimento teve por objetivo averiguar a nutrição e a produção de cultivares de feijoeiro-comum + mamoneira sob o sistema de consórcio, em função de doses de fósforo na região do cerrado brasileiro. O experimento foi instalado na safra 2010/2011 em Anápolis-GO, empregando-se o delineamento de blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 2 x 2 x 4, com três repetições. Os tratamentos foram constituídos por duas cultivares de feijoeiro-comum (Pérola e Pontal) e duas cultivares de mamoneira (Guarany e Paraguaçu), aplicando-se 0, 50, 100 e 200 kg ha-1 de P2O5 na semeadura. Por ocasião do florescimento das culturas foram coletados 20 trifólios de feijão-comum e 10 folhas de mamona, para análise de nutrientes foliares. Na maturação das culturas consociadas foram quantificados rendimento de grãos e seus componentes. Dentre os nutrientes avaliados somente os teores foliares de Ca, P e Zn em feijoeiro-comum e mamoneira sob consórcio foram influenciados pelos tratamentos testados. A adubação fosfatada promoveu acréscimos de rendimento de feijoeiro-comum e mamoneira em sistema consorciado. A fertilização fosfatada nas doses de 136 e 200 kg ha-1 de P2O5 são as mais indicadas, respectivamente, para a obtenção dos maiores patamares de produtividade de grãos de feijão - 2.166 kg ha-1 e de mamona - 2.477 kg ha-1 cultivados sob consórcio, independente do cultivar empregado.

Objetivou-se com este trabalho determinar o efeito de substratos e tamanho de recipiente no desenvolvimento de mudas de tamarindeiro. O experimento foi conduzido em viveiro telado com sombrite, em um esquema fatorial 2 x 4, sendo o primeiro fator o tamanho do recipiente (12 x 24 cm e 18 x 30 cm) e o segundo, os tipos de substratos (esterco de gado, cama-de-frango, húmus de minhoca, substrato artificial Plantmax numa relação composto orgânico/terra de subsolo de 2/10). Aos 180 dias após a semeadura as plantas foram colhidas, e para estimar a qualidade das mudas foram avaliadas as seguintes características morfológicas: peso da massa seca da parte aérea e da raiz, altura da planta, diâmetro do coleto, relação entre massa seca da raiz e massa seca da parte aérea, relação entre diâmetro do coleto e altura de planta, relação entre altura da planta e massa seca da parte aérea, e índice de qualidade de Dickson. O substrato composto com esterco de gado, o composto com cama-de-frango e o composto com húmus de minhoca, proporcionaram mudas de melhor qualidade em relação ao substrato composto Plantmax®. O recipiente de maior tamanho (18 x 30) proporcionou maior produção de matéria seca do sistema radicular.

Este trabalho avaliou o efeito da aplicação superficial de doses de silicato de cálcio sobre a produção de matéria seca e as concentrações de Si na parte aérea, assim como os atributos químicos do solo em pastagem degradada de gramíneas forrageiras, cultivadas em casa-de-vegetação. Utilizou-se o delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 5x2, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram compostos por cinco doses de silicato de cálcio (0 kg ha-1, 500 kg ha-1, 1.000 kg ha-1, 1.500 kg ha-1 e 2.000 kg ha-1) e duas gramíneas forrageiras (Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu e Panicum maximum cv. Mombaça). Foram realizados dois cortes, aos 45 e 95 dias após a semeadura, sendo quantificada a produção de massa seca da parte aérea e as concentrações foliares de Si absorvido pelas plantas, além dos valores de pH, Ca, P, Al e V no solo, após a colheita das gramíneas. A aplicação de silicato de cálcio resultou em maior absorção de silício, tanto na cv. Marandu como na cv. Mombaça. A produção de massa seca da cv. Marandu não diferiu da cv. Mombaça. O silicato de cálcio aumentou o pH e a saturação por bases do solo e reduziu o teor de alumínio. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Brachiaria brizantha; Panicum maximum; silício; corretivo de acidez. This research assessed the effect of calcium silicate application to soil surface on dry matter production and Si concentration on grass shoots, as well as chemical characteristics of a soil under degraded forage grass pasture. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse, using a completely randomized design, in a 5x2 factorial arrangement, with four replicates. Treatments consisted of five calcium silicate doses (0 kg ha-1; 500 kg ha-1; 1,000 kg ha-1; 1,500 kg ha-1; and 2,000 kg ha-1) and two forage grasses (Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu and Panicum maximum cv. Mombaça). Shoot cuttings were performed at 45 and 95 days after sowing. Shoot dry mass accumulation and absorbed Si foliar concentrations were quantified, besides soil pH, Ca, P, Al, and V values, after grass harvesting. Calcium silicate application induced higher absorption of Si in Marandu, as well as in Mombaça. Marandu cultivar dry mass accumulation did not differ from Mombaça. Este trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar, em diferentes épocas de cultivo a produção do feijoeiro, submetido à aplicação foliar de fontes e doses de zinco. Foi utilizado o delineamento de blocos casualizados, em esquema fatorial 3 x 2 x 5, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos envolveram a combinação de três safras de cultivo (inverno, águas e seca), duas fontes de zinco (sulfato e cloreto de zinco) e cinco doses de zinco (0, 100, 200, 400 e 800 g ha-1), aplicadas via foliar, aos 25 e 35 dias após emergência da cultura. Na safra de inverno, foram obtidos os maiores rendimentos de grãos e de seus componentes (número de vagens por planta e número de grãos por vagem) e teor foliar de zinco, comparativamente, às safras das águas e seca. Não houve efeito da interação entre épocas de semeadura, doses e fontes de zinco. Em solos com teor de Zn próximo de 2,1 mg dm-3, não houve aumento de produtividade para o feijoeiro com a utilização de cloreto ou sulfato de zinco, aplicados via foliar

Na agricultura moderna, o uso de métodos que propiciam a rápida diagnose do estado nutricional das plantas é uma necessidade. Objetivou-se com este trabalho estimar, através do aparelho SPAD, os teores de clorofila dos feijoeiros cultivados em solo de cerrado sob adubação de manganês e de zinco. Foram conduzidos 3 experimentos, sendo 2 em casa de vegetação e um em campo. Os experimentos de casa de vegetação foram instalados seguindo o delineamento de blocos ao acaso, em esquema fatorial, com 3 repetições, envolvendo 5 doses de Mn (0, 75, 150, 300 e 600g há-1) e 5 doses de Zn (0, 50, 100, 200 e 400g ha-1), aplicadas via foliar, aos 25 dias, ou alternativamente parceladas aos 25 e aos 35 dias após emergência (DAE), respectivamente, no 1º e no 2º experimento. No experimento de campo, empregou-se o delineamento em blocos casualizados, com 4 repetições, com os mesmos tratamentos usados em casa de vegetação. Em todos os experimentos, antes da aplicação dos tratamentos e 5 dias após, determinou-se a leitura de pigmentos com o clorofilômetro e, posteriormente, estimaram-se os teores de clorofila. Nas avaliações realizadas aos 25 e aos 35 dias após emergência, o clorofilômetro SPAD mostrou-se eficaz para estimar os teores de clorofila nas folhas do feijoeiro. A deficiência de manganês pôde ser detectada pelo SPAD 502. Os teores de clorofila não foram influenciados pela adição do zinco.

O crambe apresenta potencial de cultivo para as regiões tropicais, sobretudo, para o Centro-Oeste brasileiro, podendo ser considerada como uma opção à tão limitada lista de espécies disponíveis para a safrinha. Contudo, a expansão da área de cultivo desta Brassicacea somente ocorrerá com o fornecimento de sementes de qualidade, e para isso os conhecimentos sobre os procedimentos de secagem são relevantes. Este trabalho foi realizado com a finalidade de avaliar a qualidade fisiológica de sementes de crambe submetidas à secagem. Para tanto, foram avaliadas sementes com cinco teores de água (10; 12; 15; 20; 22% b.u), submetidas a cinco temperaturas de secagem do ar (30; 40; 50; 60 e 70 ºC). Os testes utilizados para análise foram: teste de germinação, primeira contagem da germinação, comprimento de plântulas e condutividade elétrica. Conclui-se que a temperatura entre 40 a 60 ºC propiciaram melhor desempenho fisiológico nos testes de viabilidade e vigor de sementes de crambe. A temperatura de 70 ºC foi prejudicial ao desempenho fisiológico das sementes de crambe. Teores de água acima de 12% b.u. sob faixas de temperaturas entre 40 a 60 ºC, podem interferir positivamente na quebra de dormência das sementes de crambe.

ABSTRACT We experimentally evaluated how different temperatures affect germination of individual seedlings of Dipteryx alata, and estimated the impact of climate change on the species using ecological niche modeling. A total of 240 seeds were randomly distributed among three different temperature treatments (32 ºC, 36 ºC, and 40 ºC), and monitored for 35 days. We measured seven seed traits and estimated the ecological niche of D. alata using a consensus of four methods. The treatment with the highest temperature produced smaller and lighter seedlings. The consensus of ecological niche modeling indicated that are expected to reduce the areas with climates favorable for D. alata in future scenarios. Thus, our two results (experiment and ecological niche modeling) are concordant, and both indicate the impact of global warming on germination (initial stage of the plant) and potential geographic distribution. Moreover, in geographic context, our experiment and ecological niche modeling indicated that north, northwest and central regions of the “Cerrado” are predicted to have lower morphological traits of germination and loss climate favorable area, since these regions are predicted to have higher temperatures (nearly 40 ºC) in future climatic scenarios.
