N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) iridium(III) complexes are considered as promising candidates for blue emitters in organic light-emitting diodes. They can play the roles of the emitter as well as of electron and hole transporters in the same emission layer. We investigate optical transitions in such complexes with account of geometry and electronic structure changes upon excitation or charging and exciton transfer between the complexes from first principles. It is shown that excitation of NHC iridium complexes is accompanied by a large reorganization energy ∼0.7 eV and a significant loss in the oscillator strength, which should lead to low exciton diffusion. Calculations with account of spin–orbit coupling reveal a small singlet–triplet splitting ∼0.1 eV, whereas the oscillator strength for triplet excitations is found to be an order of magnitude smaller than for the singlet ones. The contributions of the Förster and Dexter mechanisms are analyzed via the explicit integration of transition densities. It is shown that for typical distances between emitter complexes in the emission layer, the contribution of the Dexter mechanism should be negligible compared to the Förster mechanism. At the same time, the ideal dipole approximation, although giving the correct order of the exciton coupling, fails to reproduce the result taking into account spatial distribution of the transition density. For charged NHC complexes, we find a number of optical transitions close to the emission peak of the blue emitter with high exciton transfer rates that can be responsible for exciton–polaron quenching. 3-Methylhistidine (3-MeHis) is increasingly used as an indicator of muscle protein breakdown. The development of a sensitive, simple, and non-invasive method for 3-MeHis assay is important in clinical practice. Herein, a sensitive, simple, and non-invasive electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) method was proposed for the quantitation of 3-MeHis in urine by using an iridium(III) solvent complex ([Ir(dfppy)2(DMSO)Cl], dfppy = 2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)pyridine, Ir-DMSO) as a signal reagent. The photoluminescence (PL) and ECL responses of Ir-DMSO to 3-MeHis were studied. The ECL intensity of Ir-DMSO was enhanced in the presence of 3-MeHis because of the coordination recognition between Ir-DMSO and the imidazole group of 3-MeHis. Based on the enhancement of ECL intensity, 3-MeHis can be sensitively detected in the range of 5 to 25 μM. The detection limit was 0.4 μM. This is the first report of an ECL method for the quantitation of 3-MeHis. Further, to investigate the feasibility of the Ir-DMSO-based ECL method in practical applications, the developed ECL method was applied for 3-MeHis assay in urine samples of 28 healthy volunteers and 2 patients. The urine samples from patients hospitalized with obesity and kidney disease and healthy individuals were distinguished by the ECL responses of Ir-DMSO. The proposed ECL method based on the coordination recognition between iridium(III) solvent complex and the imidazole group of 3-MeHis allows inexpensive, fast, non-invasive, and sensitive detection of 3-MeHis in urine, which is promising for assessing large volumes of patients for routine analysis in clinical practices. NMR signals can be greatly enhanced, or hyperpolarised, by interactions with para-hydrogen. We demonstrate here that oximes can be reversibly hyperpolarised by coordination to an iridium complex, that oxime E/Z geometry is significant for activity, and that hyperpolarised oximes can subsequently transfer these enhanced signals through proton exchange. In this study, we introduce an efficient Chan‐Lam cross‐coupling method that utilizes phenylboronic acids and aryl azides as coupling agents in a redox‐neutral environment, enabled by a synergistic nickel/photoredox catalytic system. This approach leverages a proton‐coupled electron transfer mechanism to bypass the typical nitrene pathway associated with aryl azides, which is prone to intramolecular rearrangement, C—H amination, and reductive hydrogenation. The aggregation of amyloid β (Aβ) peptides is a significant hallmark of Alzheimer's disease (AD), and the detection of Aβ aggregates and the inhibition of their formation are important for the diagnosis and treatment of AD, respectively. Herein, we report a series of benzothiazole-based Ir(III) complexes HN-1 to HN-8 that exhibit appreciable inhibition of Aβ aggregation in vitro and in living cells. These Ir(III) complexes can induce a significant fluorescence increase when binding to Aβ fibrils and Aβ oligomers, while their measured log D values suggest these compounds could have enhanced blood--brain barrier (BBB) permeability. In vivo studies show that HN-1, HN-2, HN-3, and HN-8 successfully penetrate the BBB and stain the amyloid plaques in AD mouse brains after a 10-day treatment, suggesting that these Ir(III) complexes could act as lead compounds for AD therapeutic and diagnostic agent development. Pyrroles and indoles bearing N‐allenyl tethers participate in a variety of iridium‐catalyzed cycloisomerization processes initiated by a C−H activation step, to deliver a diversity of synthetically relevant azaheterocyclic products. By appropriate selection of the ancillary ligand and the substitution pattern of the allene, the reactions can diverge from simple intramolecular hydrocarbonations to tandem processes involving intriguing mechanistic issues. Accordingly, a wide range of heterocyclic structures ranging from dihydro‐indolizines and pyridoindoles to tetrahydroindolizines, as well as cyclopropane‐fused tetrahydroindolizines can be obtained. Moreover, by using chiral ligands, these cascade processes can be carried out in an enantioselective manner. We herein report a fundamental mechanistic investigation into photochemical metal‐nitrenoid generation and inner‐sphere transposition reactivity using organometallic photoprecursors. By designing Cp*Ir(hydroxamate)(Ar) complexes, we induced photo‐initiated ligand activation, allowing us to explore the amidative σ(Ir–aryl) migration reactivity. A combination of experimental mechanistic studies, femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations revealed that the metal‐to‐ligand charge transfer enables the σ(N−O) cleavage, followed by Ir‐acylnitrenoid generation. Bis(alkenyl)boronates react with optically active Ir(π‐allyl) species in a process that involves allylation of the more substituted olefin and 1,2‐metalate shift of the less substituted olefin. Reported here is the iridium-catalyzed regio- and enantio-selective secondary benzylic C–H borylation using benzothiazole as the directing group. Various monosubstituted 2-arylalkylbenzo[ d ]thiazole were well-tolerated, affording the corresponding products in moderate to good yields with good enantioselectivity. A series of biotin-functionalized transition metal complexes was prepared by iClick reaction from the corresponding azido complexes with a novel alkyne-functionalized biotin derivative ([Au(triazolatoR,R′)(PPh3)], [Pt(dpb)(triazolatoR,R′)], [Pt(triazolatoR,R′)(terpy)]PF6, and [Ir(ppy)(triazolatoR,R′)(terpy)]PF6 with dpb = 1,3-di(2-pyridyl)benzene, ppy = 2-phenylpyridine, and terpy = 2,2′:6′,2′′-terpyridine and R = C6H5, R′ = biotin). The complexes were compared to reference compounds lacking the biotin moiety. The binding affinity toward avidin and streptavidin was evaluated with the HABA assay as well as isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC). All compounds exhibit the same binding stoichiometry of complex-to-avidin of 4:1, but the ITC results show that the octahedral Ir(III) compound exhibits a higher binding affinity than the square-planar Pt(II) complex. The antibacterial activity of the compounds was evaluated on a series of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacterial strains. In particular, the neutral Au(I) and Pt(II) complexes showed significant antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecium at very low micromolar concentrations. The cytotoxicity against a range of eukaryotic cell lines was studied and revealed that the octahedral Ir(III) complex was non-toxic, while the square-planar Pt(II) and linear Au(I) complexes displayed non-selective micromolar activity. The design, synthesis, and characterization of novel BODPY‐based iridium and ruthenium complexes were reported. The structures of new compounds were fully characterized by FT‐IR, MALDI‐TOF mass analysis, elemental analysis, 1H, and 19F NMR spectroscopies. Precursor BODIPY was characterized by single‐crystal x‐ray diffraction technique for the first time. Photophysical properties including absorption and emission profiles and lifetimes were investigated via UV–vis absorption and emission spectroscopy. Photochemical properties were investigated via direct method, and the singlet oxygen production capabilities of new complexes were determined by NIR phosphorescence methods. BODIPY‐based new complexes were efficient at producing 1O2. Besides, both complexes showed more remarkable photosensitization ability than some commonly used photosensitizer based on BODIPY derivatives. ABSTRACT Two isomeric homoleptic Ir(III) complexes with pyridinopyridazine derivative ligands were prepared first. Due to its stronger intramolecular hydrogen bonding and intermolecular interactions, complex IrPPM has a higher decomposition temperature (5% weight loss) of 387°C than IrPPP (354°C). They have similar UV–Vis absorption and photoluminescence spectra in CH2Cl2 solution with photoluminescence peaks around 635–636 nm. However, the emission peak of IrPPM in neat powder obviously red‐shifted to 652 nm, and that of IrPPP blue‐shifted to 626 nm. Simultaneously, complex IrPPM has a lower photoluminescence quantum yield of 0.3 than IrPPP (0.5). Efficient saturated red OLED devices are developed with Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage color coordinates of (0.67, 0.32) and (0.66, 0.32), respectively. The maximum external quantum efficiencies of both devices exceed 11%. Sustaining the steady state for highly active non‐stoichiometric iridium (Ir)‐based oxide (IrOx) at low Ir loading remains challenging primarily due to the continuous oxidation and sequent dissolution of Ir active sites during the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). In this context, a new iridium–cerium (Ce) substitution solid solution oxide (SSO) has been developed, featuring uniformly dispersed Ir atoms within Ce dioxide (CeO2) matrix as electron buffer, which delivers remarkable acidic OER catalytic activity and enhanced stability. The electron‐buffering capacity of CeO2 facilitates the charge transfer toward Ir atoms, leading to abundant active low‐valence Ir sites and effectively prevent their oxidation and dissolution. As a result, Ir─Ce SSO demonstrates an overpotential of merely 238 mV@10 mA cm−2. Proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer employing Ir─Ce SSO at a low Ir loading of 396 µgIr cm−2 operates consistently for over 100 h@500 mA cm−2. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations corroborate that the electron‐buffering effect of CeO2 enriches the density of IrIII and substantially increases the dissolution energy barrier of Ir atoms. The development of new chiral ligands with simple and modular structure represents a challenging direction in the design of efficient homogeneous transition metal catalysts. Herein, we report on the asymmetric hydrogenation of prochiral ketones catalyzed by the iridium complexes of simple alkane-diyl-based P,N,O-type chiral ligands with a highly modular structure. The role of (i) the P-N and N-O backbone in the potentially tridentate ligands, (ii) the number, position and relative configuration of their stereogenic elements and (iii) the effect of their NH and OH subunits on the activity and enantioselectivity of the catalytic reactions are studied. The systematic variation in the ligand structure and the comparative catalytic experiments shed light on different mechanistic aspects of the iridium-catalyzed reaction. The catalysts containing the simple alkane-diyl-based ligands with central chirality provided high enantioselectivities (up to 98% ee) under optimized reaction conditions and proved to be active and selective even at very high substrate concentrations (100 mmol substrate/mL solvent). High‐efficiency and long‐lifetime near‐infrared (NIR) organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) are rarely reported. Herein, three efficient NIR Ir(III) complexes 1–3 are developed with specially designed cyclometallated ligands based on pyrido[3,4‐b]pyrazine and oriented substitutions along the Ir─N bond axis. Electron‐deficient pyrazine ring effectively stabilizes LUMO energy, leading to significant emission bathochromic shift. Importantly, for complexes 2 and 3, oriented substitutions along the direction of the Ir─N bond axis considerably enhance the horizontal emitting dipole orientation ratio up to 90%. Their OLEDs demonstrate high maximum external quantum efficiencies (EQEs), negligible efficiency roll‐offs, superior radiance, and long lifetimes. The maximum EQEs and radiances of devices are 9.84% and 158 W Sr−1 m−2 at 725 nm for 1, 6.98% and 14.03 W Sr−1 m−2 at 760 nm for 2, and 12.49% and 18.94 W Sr−1 m−2 at 735 nm for 3, respectively. The device lifetime LT97 at 10 mA cm−2 is 453 h for complex 2, which sets a champion lifetime for NIR‐OLEDs. This work demonstrates that pyrido[3,4‐b]pyrazine is a desired building block for robust NIR emitting Ir(III) complexes, providing a superior paradigm to combine high efficiency, negligible roll‐off, and long device lifetime simultaneously toward practical applications. Tris‐bidentate iridium(III) complexes used in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) are typically homoleptic or heteroleptic with three or two identical emissive ligands, respectively. Herein red phosphorescence emitting dendrimers composed of first generation biphenyl dendrons, 2‐ethylhexyloxy surface groups and an iridium(III) complex core with three, two or one emissive [4‐phenyl]−2‐[thiophen‐2‐yl]quinoline ligands are reported. The dendrimers have similar photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs) in solution (84–88%), neat film (23–25%) and when blended with tris(4‐carbazoyl‐9‐ylphenyl)amine (72–73%), enabling the effect of the number of emissive ligands on OLED performance to be determined. The external quantum efficiency (EQE) of OLEDs composed of neat dendrimer films increased with decreasing number of emissive ligands, with the device composed of the dendrimer having a single emissive ligand having an EQE of 9.2%, which is almost double that expected from a bottom emitting device and a film PLQY of 25 ± 3.6%. The emission is Lambertian and the higher‐than‐expected EQE is ascribed to alignment of the single emissive ligand being optimal for light‐outcoupling. Iridium(III) complexes nowadays became rising stars in various health-related applications. Thus, there is a necessity to assess cytotoxicity of the synthesized molecules against cancer/normal cell lines. In this report, we present a dataset of 2694 experimental cytotoxicity values of 803 iridium complexes against 127 different cell lines. We specify the experimental conditions and provide representation of the complexes molecules in machine-readable format. The dataset provides a starting point for exploration of new iridium-based cellular probes and opens new possibilities for predictions of toxicities and data-driven generation of new organometallic anticancer agents. This review focuses on summarising the studies on transition metal catalysed transfer vinylation of alcohols using vinyl ethers and vinyl acetate as vinylating agents. Mercury, palladium, iridium and gold catalysts are discussed herein. Selected examples from publications and patents are given for the purpose of analysing functional group tolerance towards the methodology. In addition, mechanistic pathways are described. A novel Ta/Os heterobimetallic complex, [Ta(CH2tBu)3(μ-H)3OsCp*], 2, is prepared by protonolysis of Ta(CHtBu)(CH2tBu)3 with Cp*OsH5. Treatment of 2 and its iridium analogue [Ta(CH2tBu)3(μ-H)2IrCp*], 1, with CO2 under mild conditions reveal the efficient cleavage of CO2, driven by the formation of a tantalum oxo species in conjunction with CO transfer to the osmium or iridium fragments, to form Cp*Ir(CO)H2 and Cp*Os(CO)H3, respectively. Phosphorescent material with narrowband emission is crucial for advancing wide-color-gamut organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). In this work, two iridium(III) complexes, (PhthzICz)2Ir(tmd) and (thzICz)2Ir(tmd), using rigid 2-(benzothiazole-2-yl)indolo[3,2,1-jk]carbazole (PhthzICz) and 2-(thiazole-2-yl)indolo[3,2,1-jk]carbazole (thzICz) as cyclometalated ligands and 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedione (tmd) as ancillary ligands, were synthesized. When these complexes were doped into the host material 3,3′-di(9H-carbazol-9-yl)-1,1′-biphenyl, the doped films exhibited yellow photoluminescence (PL) peaking at 537 and 531 nm, full width at half maximum (FWHM) bands of 35 and 60 nm, and PL quantum yields of 89.9% and 85.9%, respectively. OLEDs based on these two emitters display moderate performance characteristics with maximum external quantum efficiencies of 25.2% and 22.7%. Notably, the device based on (PhthzICz)2Ir(tmd) exhibits a narrow FWHM of 31 nm. Overall, the study highlights the practicality of incorporating rigid groups into the cyclometalated ligands of Ir(III) complexes as a viable strategy for achieving efficient Ir(III) complexes for OLEDs with narrow emission and high efficiency. A series of naphthalene‐diimide (NDI) and perylene‐diimide (PDI) connected bis‐N‐heterocyclic carbene complexes of iridium(III) have been prepared and fully characterized. The analysis of their NMR spectroscopic features, together with their molecular structures show that these species display lone‐pair‐π interactions between the chloride ligands of the Ir(III) complex and the heterocycles of the NDI/PDI moieties. The detection of this type of interaction in solution is due to the formation of two atropisomers, which are formed as a result of the restricted rotation about the Ir−Ccarbene bond imposed by the (Cl)lp⋅⋅⋅π interaction. Variable‐temperature 1H NMR analysis allowed the determination of the strength of this non‐covalent interaction, which lies between ΔH=6.6 and 10 kcal/mol. Among the solid‐state lighting technologies, OLEDs occupy a prominent position for the high efficiencies associated with the low CO2 emissions. In line with the recent studies aimed at designing sustainable and biodegradable devices, herein we report on the synthesis of a series of iridium(III) complexes featuring, as β‐diketone ligands, curcumin and 6‐dehydrogingerdione, two natural compounds found in the rhizome of Curcuma longa and Zingiber officinale. To improve the solubility of both the ligands and prevent the aggregation of the complexes, oleoyl residues were inserted on the phenolic −OH groups. The resulting complexes exhibited a green emission with quantum yields as high as 2.8 % (relative to fluorescein). OLED devices were fabricated by using, as emitting layer, a host‐guest blend of the iridium complex in 4,4'‐bis(N‐carbazolyl)‐1,1'‐biphenyl (CBP). The morphological analysis revealed that thin films of the emitting layer were homogeneous. The devices fabricated with iridium complexes from 6‐dehydrogingerdione exhibited higher luminance, efficiency and power efficiency with respect to the corresponding devices obtained from curcumin; also the functionalization of the β‐diketone unit with the oleoyl residue proved to increase significantly the performance of the device. Water electrolysis is one of the most promising green hydrogen production technologies. However, using precious metal materials as electrodes for these electrolyzers incurs high costs. To address these challenges and simultaneously retain the catalytic activity of precious metals, we synthesize a low-iridium catalyst, Nd–IrO 2. At 10 and -10 mA/cm2, this catalyst exhibits 233 and 36 mV overpotentials. Nd – IrO 2 maintains stability over prolonged operation in acidic environments, as evidenced by its consistent overpotential. Advanced calculations using density functional theory (DFT) have demonstrated that incorporating Nd and an ample amount of oxygen vacancies can modulate the d-band center of Ir and reduce the adsorption energy of electrochemical reaction intermediates. The development of the proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer (PEMWE) is still limited by the prohibitive cost and scarcity of iridium (Ir)‐based oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalyst. This work presents a novel catalyst synthesized by precursor‐atomization and rapid joule‐heating method, successfully doping iridium atoms into polyvalent tungsten blends (W0, W5+, W6+) based on titanium substrate. The vacancy engineering of unsaturated tungsten oxide (W5+, W6+) reconstructs the electronic structure of the catalyst surface, which resulting in the low‐valence state iridium species, avoiding excessive oxidation of iridium and accelerating the catalytic kinetics. Meanwhile, metallic tungsten (W0) improves the conductivity of catalyst and guarantees the stable existence of oxygen vacancy. The TiIrWOx possesses excellent performance in acidic OER catalysis, requiring overpotential of only 181 mV to drive 10.0 mA cm−2, and exhibiting a high mass activity of 753 A gIr−1 at an overpotential of 300 mV. The membrane electrode assembly (MEA) with TiIrWOx as anode electrocatalyst can reduce the Ir consumption amount by >60% compared to commercial IrO2, and it can operated over 120 h at a current density of 1.0 A cm−2. The usage of cheap crude H2 in proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) is still unrealistic to date, due to the suffering of the current Pt based nano-catalysts from impurities such as CO in anode. Recently, synergistic active sites between single atom (SA) and nanoparticle (NP) have been found to be promising for overcoming the poisoning problem. However, lengthening the nanoparticle-single atom (SA-NP) interface, i.e., constructing high density synergistic active sites, remains highly challenging. Herein, we present a new strategy based on molecular fusion strategy to create abundant SA-NP interfaces, with high density SA-NP interfaces created on a two dimensional nitrogen doped carbon nanosheets (Ir-SACs&NPs/NC). Owing to the abundance of SA-NP interface sites, the catalyst was empowered with a high tolerance towards up to 1000 ppm CO in H2 feed. Simple Summary: Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma are the most common cancers worldwide and surgical excision is the first-line treatment. Brachytherapy, which delivers a high dose of radiation to tumor tissue while sparing healthy tissue, represents a curative and conservative alternative in certain situations, particularly in elderly patients. Since the withdrawal of iridium wires from the market, brachytherapy has mainly been performed with high-dose-rate iridium-192 (HDR). Few studies and recommendations exist on HDR brachytherapy. Our study aims to evaluate the efficacy of HDR brachytherapy in terms of local control, survival, toxicity, and quality of life in patients with facial periorificial cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma or basal cell carcinoma treated in our center between 2015 and 2021. While treatment of localized cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is based on surgery, brachytherapy, which delivers a high dose of radiation to tumor tissue while sparing healthy tissue, is an alternative. Since the withdrawal of iridium wires from the market, brachytherapy has mainly been performed with high-dose-rate iridium-192 (HDR). This study evaluated the efficacy of HDR brachytherapy in terms of local control, survival, toxicity, and quality of life in patients with facial periorificial cutaneous SCC or BCC treated in our center between 2015 and 2021. Sixty-seven patients were treated for SCC (n = 49) or BCC (n = 18), on the nose (n = 29), lip (n = 28), eyelid (n = 7), or ear (n = 3). The majority had Tis or T1 tumors (73.1%). After a median follow-up of 28 months, 8 patients had a local recurrence. The local control rate at 3 years was 87.05% (95% CI 74.6–93.7). All patients developed grade 1–2 acute radio-mucositis or radiodermatitis and one experienced reversible grade 3 acute radio-mucositis. Of the 27 patients who completed the quality-of-life questionnaire, 77.8% recommended the treatment. A highly efficient carbonylation of aryl halides using half‐sandwich iridium catalysis was developed, providing a new avenue for synthesizing carboxylic ester derivatives and yielding consistently impressive results. These iridium complexes demonstrated remarkable catalytic performance in the coupling reaction using phenyl formate derivatives as the source of CO, phenol, and aryl halides as the starting material in the presence of air and possessed good air and moisture stability properties. Ester products with different substituents were synthesized at low reaction temperatures without the need for an inert atmosphere, leading to high yields. The broad substrate scope, impressive catalytic activity, and mild reaction conditions suggest promising industrial applications for this catalytic system. The desired metal complexes 1–4 have been well proven by attenuated total reflectance‐Fourier transform infrared (ATR‐FTIR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and elemental analysis (EA). A one-pot, one-step protocol combining hydrogen transfer initiated dehydration (HTID) of 1,3-propanediol (1,3-PDO), catalysed by [Cp*IrCl2(NHC)] (Cp* = pentamethylcyclopentadienyl; NHC = carbene ligand) complexes (1-5H and 1-3F), and self-aldol condensation (SAC) of propanal (2), allowed selective production of C6 aldehyde 2-methyl-pent-2-enal (3), in ionic liquids with high substrate conversion. This shows, for the first time, the conversion of 1,3-propanediol to C6 aldehydes in one pot via a catalytic hydrogen borrowing methodology. The Ir(III) pre-catalysts and the ionic liquids were recyclable. C6 aldehyde 2-methyl-pent-2-enal could also be selectively produced in the presence of water and in neat 1,3-PDO. The efficient, selective delivery of a value-added chemical from 1,3-PDO, a major product of many whole-cell bacterial fermentation processes, shows that the combination of chemo-catalytic processing of the chemical platform via Cp*IrCl2(NHC)-catalysed HTID/SAC with bio-catalysis has the potential to allow direct valorisation of the bio-renewable feedstocks, such as waste glycerol and sugars, into valuable chemicals. Due to limited communication, computing resources, and unstable environments, traditional cold chain traceability systems are difficult to apply directly to marine cold chain traceability scenarios. Motivated by these challenges, we construct an improved blockchain-based cold chain traceability system for marine fishery vessels. Firstly, an Internet of Vessels system based on the Iridium Satellites (IoV-IMS) is proposed for marine cold chain monitoring. Aiming at the problems of low throughput, long transaction latency, and high communication overhead in traditional cold chain traceability systems, based on the Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT) consensus algorithm, a Node-grouped and Reputation-evaluated PBFT (NR-PBFT) is proposed to improve the reliability and robustness of blockchain system. In NR-PBFT, an improved node grouping scheme is designed, which introduces a consistent hashing algorithm to divide nodes into consensus and candidate sets, reducing the number of nodes participating in the consensus process, to lower communication overhead and transaction latency. Then, a reputation evaluation model is proposed to improve the node selection mechanism of NR-PBFT. It enhances the enthusiasm of nodes to participate in consensus, which considers the distance between fishery vessels, data size, and refrigeration temperature factors of nodes to increase throughput. Finally, we carried out experiments on marine fishery vessels, and the effectiveness of the cold chain traceability system and NR-PBFT were verified. As a commonly used metal ion, iron(II) (Fe2+) ions pose a potential threat to ecosystems and human health. Therefore, it is particularly important to develop analytical techniques for the rapid and accurate detection of Fe2+ ions. However, the development of near-infrared (NIR) luminescence probes with good photostability for Fe2+ ions remain challenging. In this work, we report a novel iridium(III) complex-based luminescence probe for the sensitive and rapid detection of Fe2+ ions in a solution based on an Fe2+-mediated reduction reaction. This probe is capable of sensitively detecting Fe2+ ions with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.26 μM. Furthermore, this probe shows high photostability, and its luminescence remains stable under 365 nm irradiation over a time period of 30 min. To our knowledge, this is first iridium(III) complex-based NIR probe for the detection of Fe2+ ions. Polymer‐metal complexes (PMCs) based on poly(2,2′‐bipyridine‐4,4′‐dicarboxamide‐co‐polydimethylsiloxanes) with cyclometalated di(2‐phenylpyridinato‐C2,N')iridium(III) fragments and cross‐linked by Zn2+ (Zn[Ir]‐BipyPDMSs) or Ir3+ (Ir[Ir]‐BipyPDMSs) represent flexible, stretchable, phosphorescent, and self‐healing molecular oxygen sensors. PMCs provide strong phosphorescence at λem = 595–605 nm. Zn[Ir]‐BipyPDMS with PDMS chain length of Mn = 5000 has the highest quantum yield of 9.3% and is a molecular oxygen sensor at different O2 concentrations (0–100 vol%) compared to Ir[Ir]‐BipyPDMSs. A Stern−Volmer constant is determined for Zn[Ir]‐BipyPDMS as KSV = 0.014%−1, which is similar to the reported oxygen‐sensitive iridium(III) complexes. Comprehensive Summary The reductive lactonization strategy provides an efficient access to diastereoenriched polycyclic γ‐lactones. However, it is still a formidable challenge to develop an efficient and versatile protocol with excellent levels of diastereocontrol. Herein, we provide a highly diastereoselective and efficient route to diastereopure bi‐ and polycyclic γ‐lactones, by means of an iridium‐catalyzed hydride transfer strategy. This method features high levels of diastereocontrol, broad substrate scope, and high catalyst efficiency (S/C = up to 5000). Mechanistic studies suggest that the iridium hydride formation might be the rate‐determining step, and that the hydride transfer step be the diastereo‐determining step. The large steric hindrance of the iridium hydride species and intramolecular hydrogen bonding are critically key to the diastereocontrol of the hydride transfer process. From the perspectives of configurational analysis and Duniz angles of attack, the nature of diastereocontrol is well rationalized. Whereas κ3-P,C,P-based donor ligands are ubiquitous across synthetic chemistry, related unsymmetric systems having κ3-P,P,C-coordination are comparatively rare. In this contribution, we expose a new κ3-P,P,C ligand system, bearing a C3-anionic linker and its coordination chemistry with iridium. A series of N,N‐chelate half‐sandwich iridium complexes were synthesized by a simple method with good yields. The dehydrogenation of a series of aromatic and aliphatic primary alcohols to corresponding carboxylic acids has been successfully achieved by the prepared air stable iridium complexes under mild reaction conditions. Carboxylic acids were obtained in high yields under open flask condition with broad substrates and good tolerance to sensitive functional groups. Such a half‐sandwich iridium catalyst system showed desirable stability and catalytic activity, and the achievement of a high TOF of 372.0 h−1 could be observed with an extremely low catalyst loading of only 0.05 mol%. Furthermore, the sustainable catalyst could be reused for a minimum of five cycles without obviously losing its activity, highlighting its potential application in industry. Many industrial processes such transesterification of fatty acid for biodiesel production, soap manufacturing and biosynthesis of ethanol generate glycerol as a major by‐product that can be used to produce commodity chemicals. Photocatalytic transformation of glycerol is an enticing approach that can exclude the need of harsh oxidants and extraneous thermal energy. However, the product yield and selectivity remain poor due to low absorption and unsymmetrical site distribution on the catalyst surface. Herein, tellurium (Te) nanorods/nanosheets (TeNRs/NSs) wrapped potassium‐doped carbon nitride (KCN) van der Waal (vdW) heterojunction (TeKCN) is designed to enhance charge separation and visible‐NIR absorption. The iridium (Ir) single atom sites decoration on the TeKCN core‐shell structure (TeKCNIr) promotes selective oxidation of glycerol to glyceraldehyde with a conversion of 45.6% and selectivity of 61.6% under AM1.5G irradiation. The catalytic selectivity can reach up to 88% under 450 nm monochromatic light. X‐ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) demonstrates the presence of undercoordinated IrN2O2 sites which improved catalytic selectivity for glycol oxidation. Band energies and computational calculations reveal faile charge transfer in the TeKCNIr heterostructure. In organic solar cells (OSCs), the short exciton lifetime poses a significant limitation to exciton diffusion and dissociation. Extending exciton lifetime and suppressing recombination are crucial strategies for improving the OSC performance. Herein, an effective approach is proposed by introducing the phosphorescent emitter, tris(2‐(4‐(tert‐butyl)phenyl)‐5‐fluoropyridine)Iridium(III), with long‐lived triplet exciton lifetime in OSCs. This research reveals that the steric structure of fac‐Ir(tBufppy)3 exhibits excellent compatibility with both the donor PM6 and acceptor BTP‐eC9, maintaining efficiencies of over 90% even with a 30% third component loading. Moreover, a 10% addition of fac‐Ir(tBufppy)3 mitigates excessive aggregation in the acceptor BTP‐eC9, optimizing the active layer morphology and improving the fill factor. Transient absorption spectroscopy and transient photoluminescence measurements demonstrate that the introduction of fac‐Ir(tBufppy)3 significantly extends exciton lifetimes and suppresses recombination, which increases the short‐circuit current (JSC). Ultimately, employing the non‐halogenated solvent o‐xylene for processing, an impressive power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 18.54% is achieved in devices based on PM6:10%fac‐Ir(tBufppy)3:BTP‐eC9, surpassing the efficiency of binary PM6:BTP‐eC9 devices (17.41%). In this work, we describe the synthesis and characterisation of the starting materials [Cp*IrCl2]2 and four new ruthenium(II) and iridium(III) complexes half sandwich, contain the fragments [(p-cymene)Ru]2+ and [Cp*Ir]2+; (Cp* = CpMe4Et) of stoichiometry: [Cp*IrCl2(2-aminopyridine)] (I), [Cp*IrCl2(4-aminopyridine)] (II), [Cp*IrCl2(adenine)] (III) and [(p-cymene)RuCl2(adenine)] (IV). The new compounds have been characterised by C, H, and N elemental analysis; infrared and 1H NMR spectroscopy with 1H–1H COSY, ESI/TOF mass spectrometry and thermogravimetry. Research on the chemoselective metal‐catalyzed hydrogenation of conjugated π‐systems has mostly been focussed on enones. Herein, we communicate the understudied asymmetric hydrogenation of enimines catalyzed by N,P‐iridium complexes and chemoselective toward the alkene. A number of enoxime ethers underwent hydrogenation smoothly to yield the desired products in high yield and stereopurity (up to 99 % yield, up to 99 % ee). No hydrogenation of the C=N π‐bond was observed under the applied reaction conditions (20 bar H2, rt, DCM). It was demonstrated that the chiral oxime ether could be hydrolyzed into the ketone with complete preservation of the installed stereogenity at the α‐carbon. Ir(III) carbene complexes have been explored as one of the best blue phosphors for their high performance. Herein, the authors designed and synthesized a series of blue‐emitting Ir(III) phosphors (f‐ct9a–c), featuring fac‐coordinated cyano‐imidazo[4,5‐b]pyridin‐2‐ylidene cyclometalates. These Ir(III) complexes exhibit true‐blue emission with a peak maximum spanning 448–467 nm, with high photoluminescence quantum yields of 81–88% recorded in degassed toluene. Moreover, OLED devices bearing phosphors f‐ct9a and f‐ct9b deliver maximum external quantum efficiencies (EQEmax) of 25.9% and 30.3%, together with Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage (CIEx,y) coordinates of (0.157, 0.225) and (0.142, 0.169), respectively. Remarkably, the f‐ct9b‐based device displays an incredible EQE of 29.0% at 5000 cd·m−2. The hyper‐OLED device based on f‐ct9b and ν‐DABNA exhibits an EQEmax of 34.7% and CIEx,y coordinates of (0.122, 0.131), affirming high potentials in achieving efficient blue electroluminescence. The hydroxide exchange membrane fuel cells (HEMFCs) are promising but lack of high‐performance anode hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) electrocatalysts. The platinum group metals (PGMs) have the HOR activity in alkaline medium two to three orders of magnitude lower than those in acid, leading to the high required PGMs amount on anode to achieve high HEMFC performance. The mechanism study demonstrates the hydrogen binding energy of the catalyst determines the alkaline HOR kinetics, and the adsorbed OH and water on the catalyst surface promotes HOR. Iridium (Ir) has a unique advantage for alkaline HOR due to its similar hydrogen binding energy to Pt and enhanced adsorption of OH. However, the HOR activity of Ir/C is still unsatisfied in practical HEMFC applications. Further fine tuning the adsorption of the intermediate on Ir‐based catalysts is of great significance to improve their alkaline HOR activity, which can be reasonably realized by structure design and composition regulation. In this concept, we address the current understanding about the alkaline HOR mechanism and summarize recent advances of Ir‐based electrocatalysts with enhanced alkaline HOR activity. Late‐stage functionalization of indoles can be a valuable strategy for modifying different existing indolyl‐drugs and natural products to get their new analogues. In this study, we report the photoredox‐metal catalyzed decarboxylative arylation strategy of indole‐3‐acetic acids with aryl halides. Here, photoredox‐catalysis was synergistically merged with nickel‐catalysis for the synthesis of biologically important 3‐benzyl indoles with good functional group tolerance. An Iridium(III)‐catalyzed C−H cyclization of N‐arylphthalazinones with α‐diazotized Meldrum's acid afforded tetracyclic phthalazine derivatives with a carbonyl group in 98% yield in only 30 min. A [(POCN)Ir(H)(OAc)] complex bearing an iminophosphinite pincer ligand was synthesized. The complex showed catalytic transfer dehydrogenation of various linear and cyclic alkanes with reasonable conversions and a maximum TON of 400 for n‐octane. A catalytic isomerization of 1‐octene to yield internal octenes was also possible. A superconducting film with a tunable low transition temperature (Tc) is required in high-resolution Transition-Edge Sensor (TES) detectors, which have applications including dark matter detection, low threshold coherent elastic neutrino nucleus scattering measurement, and X-ray spectroscopy. We have been investigating a new approach to tune the Tc of superconducting thin films fabricated by co-sputtering Iridium and Platinum. The effects of Pt concentration and deposition parameters on the films' structural, electrical, and superconducting properties have been studied. AFM and XRD techniques and low temperature resistance measurements have been utilized for film characterization. By varying the Pt concentration and deposition parameters when co-sputtering, we have successfully achieved controllable tuning of Tc in the range of 30–200 mK. The experimental results demonstrate co-sputtering as a viable method for controlling the Tc of Ir-based thin films that can be applied to fabricating high-resolution TESs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Utilizing magnetic field measurements made by the Iridium satellites and by ground magnetometers in North America we calculate the full ionospheric current system and investigate the substorm current wedge. The current estimates are independent of ionospheric conductance, and are based on estimates of the divergence‐free (DF) ionospheric current from ground magnetometers and curl‐free (CF) ionospheric currents from Iridium. The DF and CF currents are represented using spherical elementary current systems (SECS), derived using a new inversion scheme that ensures the current systems' spatial scales are consistent. We present 18 substorm events and find a typical substorm current wedge (SCW) in 12 events. Our investigation of these substorms shows that during substorm expansion, equivalent field‐aligned currents (EFACs) derived with ground magnetometers are a poor proxy of the actual FAC. We also find that the intensification of the westward electrojet can occur without an intensification of the FACs. We present theoretical investigations that show that the observed deviation between FACs estimated with satellite measurements and ground‐based EFACs are consistent with the presence of a strong local enhancement of the ionospheric conductance, similar to the substorm bulge. Such enhancements of the auroral conductance can also change the ionospheric closure of pre‐existing FACs such that the ground magnetic field, and in particular the westward electrojet, changes significantly. These results demonstrate that attributing intensification of the westward electrojet to SCW current closure can yield false understanding of the ionospheric and magnetospheric state. The nitrile compounds are present in a variety of biologically active natural products and pharmaceuticals, and the nitrile groups are versatile synthetic intermediates to other functionalized compounds. Herein, the asymmetric reduction of α, β-unsaturated nitriles with water as a hydrogen source is reported. The reaction is catalyzed by the complex of [Ir(COD)Cl]2 and (Ra, S)-Ph-Bn-SiPhox, and allows the preparation of useful enantioenriched chiral 3,3-disubstituted propionitriles with high optical purities in mild conditions.

[Display omitted] • NO x conversion and N 2 selectivity are significantly enhanced in the presence of SO 2. • The decrease in CO oxidation ability is the main reason for the improvement in NO reduction performance. • L-H reaction pathways for CO oxidation are inhibited by the formation of sulfate species. • The promotional mechanism of SO 2 on CO-SCR reaction over Ir-based catalysts is proposed. Generally, sulfur poisoning is considered to be one of the main factors contributing to the deactivation of selective catalytic reduction of NO x by CO (CO-SCR) catalysts, while the promotional effect of SO 2 on NO reduction over Ir/SiO 2 is observed which is an interesting scientific phenomenon. After the introduction of 20 ppm SO 2 , NO x conversion increased from ∼ 40 % to ∼ 90 % at 275 °C, and N 2 selectivity increased from ∼ 80 % to 100 % at 200 ∼ 300 °C. Furthermore, the promoting effect could remain unchanged after 24 h of continuous reaction. However, the temperature point for achieving complete conversion of CO increased from 225 °C to 275 °C after the introduction of SO 2. Experimental characterization and theoretical calculation jointly proved that the inhibition of CO oxidation by the generation of sulfate was the main reason for promoting NO reduction. Under the coexistence of O 2 and SO 2 , SO 2 was firstly oxidized to SO 3 on the iridium surface and generated sulfate species on surface hydroxyl groups of SiO 2. Some active sites for O 2 adsorption were covered by the generated surface sulfate, and adsorbed CO was hard to react with adsorbed O 2 , resulting in Langmuir–Hinshelwood (L-H) reaction pathways for CO oxidation being inhibited. Therefore, unoxidized CO reacted with NO adsorbed species and generated N 2 O to generate N 2 and CO 2 , improving NO reduction. [Display omitted] Here, we report the preparation of a novel Janus nanoparticle with opposite Ir and mesoporous silica nanoparticles through a partial surface masking with toposelective modification method. This nanomaterial was employed to construct an enzyme-powered nanomachine with self-propulsion properties for on-command delivery. The cargo-loaded nanoparticle was provided with a pH-sensitive gate and unit control at the mesoporous face by first attaching boronic acid residues and further immobilization of glucose oxidase through reversible boronic acid esters with the carbohydrate residues of the glycoenzyme. Addition of glucose leads to the enzymatic production of H 2 O 2 and gluconic acid, being the first compound catalytically decomposed at the Ir nanoparticle face producing O 2 and causing the nanomachine propulsion. Gluconic acid leads to a pH reduction at the nanomachine microenvironment causing the disruption of the gating mechanism with the subsequent cargo release. This work demonstrates that enzyme-mediated self-propulsion improved release efficiency being this nanomotor successfully employed for the smart release of Doxorubicin in HeLa cancer cells. Hydrogen has received attention as a next-generation renewable energy source; accordingly, sustainable production and safe transportation are crucial for its effective utilization. In this study, we focused on dihydrolevoglucosenone (Cyrene TM ), which was a biodegradable ketone derived from cellulose, as a renewable organic hydride. Furthermore, hydrogenation using alcoholic fermentation with baker's yeast was proposed for a novel hydrogen storage, wherein water and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide serve as hydrogen sources. Cyrene TM was hydrogenated with baker's yeast to produce 1,6-anhydro-3,4-dideoxy- β -D- threo -hexopyranose (Cyrene-OH). Cyrene-OH stored hydrogen via chemical bonding, and was dehydrogenated by warming in the presence of an iridium complex catalyst to produce hydrogen gas and reproduce Cyrene TM . Therefore, this study demonstrated a new sustainable and renewable hydrogen gas production and storage cycle.
