2022 opened with World War C, the first major cyber world war. Wanting to capitalize on history in the making, Information Systems faculty are integrating real time events to increase student engagement, comprehension, and application of IS concepts. This paper outlines a successful midterm evaluation pivot that leverages current events. We discuss two different actions taken and objectives, outcomes, and implications for teaching and educational research. We find that incorporating extreme current events motivates students towards self-learning and creative knowledge outlets, which in turn stimulate greater comprehension, application, and retention across the entire class.

Online learning is a growing trend in education during the corona virus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. The purpose of this study is to ascertain the difficulties that online majors in non-English languages have when attempting to acquire English. The subject of this study involved using the questionnaire method for as many as 412 students and interviewing 15 students with a total of 17 questions. The results of this study indicate that there are several challenges faced by students during online learning; i) less familiarity with online learning as shown by 31% of students agreeing that online learning is a new learning method, ii) psychologically 30% of students choose strongly agree that they have limited opportunities to interact directly and freely with lecturers as well as with students, iii) limited facilities and infrastructure as much as 28% agree that the budget is limited to get quota or internet credit, and iv) limited internet access as many as 35% of students do not have good internet coverage to take online lectures. The findings of this study should be a reference for English lecturers to continue learning to innovate in providing online English learning by considering the existing challenges.

Developments in information and communication technologies, especially with the increase in internet use, have caused some important changes in the tourism industry, as in all sectors. Marketing strategies in the tourism sector have also undergone a transformation affected by these changes. As information and communication technologies develop, not only there is a decrease in communication costs, but also the regional borders of marketing activities have expanded and global studies have emerged. Transition to the digital world with the Internet; sharing information that will affect consumers' purchasing decisions, from destinations to tourism businesses and the diversity of services in tourism, has become one of the important variables of tourism marketing. The widespread use of information and communication technologies in the tourism sector has significantly changed the strategies and activities in tourism marketing, and especially the widespread use of social media has led to radical changes in the structure of promotional activities in tourism. In this study, which compares the social media usage of 5-star chain hotels, which are tourism businesses operating in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the Greek Administration of Southern Cyprus, the Republic of Turkey and France, it is aimed to evaluate the effects of developments in information and communication technologies on tourism business marketing and the consumer-educational role of social media used in tourism marketing. Study; in addition to the advantageous and disadvantageous effects of technology and social media on tourism marketing, it also reveals the dimensions of the educational aspect.

This study aimed to investigate the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) anxiety on multi-dimensional 21st-century skills and lifelong learning among undergraduates. A quantitative method using a correlational research model was used to examine the relationships between AI anxiety, 21st-century skills, and lifelong learning levels, considering various demographic and educational variables. Data were collected from undergraduates in educational faculty programs in Kyrenia, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) during the 2023-2024 academic year. Findings revealed a moderate level of AI anxiety among students, a strong perception of possessing relevant 21st-century skills, and a moderate recognition of the importance of lifelong learning. Significant differences in AI anxiety were observed based on gender, with females reporting higher anxiety levels. Age, country of origin, university, faculty program, class level, GPA, use of AI-based products or services, and daily internet use for professional development also influenced students' 21st-century skills and lifelong learning levels. No significant correlations were found between AI anxiety and the other constructs, while a moderate positive correlation was identified between 21st-century skills and lifelong learning. These findings emphasize the importance of fostering 21st-century skills for lifelong learning and suggest that AI anxiety may not significantly impact students' skill acquisition or learning behaviours.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a highly discussed subject, and its integration into our daily lives has grown significantly. This research evaluated how dental students in North Cyprus perceive and feel about artificial intelligence, with a focus on identifying educational needs to enhance their professional skills. A self-administered multiple-choice questionnaire with 24 questions was conducted. 5 questions focused on gathering basic demographic information, such as gender, age, academic year, AI knowledge self-assessment, dental news sources, and experience in AI development. The remaining 16 questions pertained to AI-related topics. In general, students stated that they have little knowledge about AI (71.4%), and usually get the latest medical and dental news and information through the Internet (65.7%). 43,6% of the participants were strongly agree that AI-related lectures should be included in the regular curriculum for dental hygiene. Male students showed that they have significantly more knowledge about AI than female students. (p<0.05) In general, participants demonstrated diminished confidence in AI. It is seen that the dental education curriculum provided minimal information about AI and most of the students stated that AI-related lectures should be included in the regular curriculum for dental hygiene. Based on these findings, it is important to arrange lectures and seminars aimed at enhancing dental students' comprehension of AI.

The current study examined the actions and thought processes second grade students experience while reading online, implementing a research based teaching strategy for new literacies, and Internet Reciprocal Teaching (IRT). In particular, strategies for how to critically evaluate online text were introduced to second grade students. Through IRT, second graders were able to evaluate online texts for relevance and credibility. Participants used several different strategies in determining credibility of online texts. They sought out more information about the website or author, used background knowledge about a particular website, looked at the URL, identified the number of ads on a webpage, and used other miscellaneous criteria. The current study can contribute to existing literature by exploring evaluation strategies that young students may already possess and addressing any possible relationships between IRT and evaluation strategies used by students while reading on the internet.

Although technology has been seamlessly integrated into classroom teaching, there is room for improvement in the way professional development is implemented. The aim of this study was to explore the experiences of Thai teachers of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in implementing digital literacy training. Focusing on technologically illiterate teachers (and particularly older ones), the study aimed to investigate the production of online videos by these teachers to be used in their classrooms. The study was conducted in Trang, Thailand, and involved 36 Thai EFL teachers who underwent a one-month training programme in 2020. Data was collected through a questionnaire, observation, and interviews. The results showed that the participants required additional training time, and faced challenges such as teaching style, computer specifications, and Internet accessibility. Despite these challenges, the teachers reported a positive perceptions of teaching English with technology, and found it was easier than they had anticipated. These findings have pedagogical implications for future implementations of digital literacy training for somewhat technologically illiterate language teachers.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of promotional activities applied in e-commerce on the consumer behavior of individuals living and shopping in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The study was conducted using quantitative research method based on Söker's (2022) scale form. The population of the study consists of all individuals residing and shopping in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, while the sample consists of 336 consumers. The reliability of the collected data was evaluated in the analyzes carried out using SPSS 28.00 program. According to the results of the research, there is a general perception among the respondents that promotional sales strategies are effective on consumers. In particular, promotions such as second item free have the potential to influence respondents' purchasing decisions. The distribution of discount coupons and the use of fair/exhibition booths on digital platforms are other types of promotions that are viewed positively. However, some respondents expressed reservations towards certain promotional strategies. For example, 15.2% had a negative attitude towards discount coupons, while 33.3% believed that promotional products are generally not preferred. These results suggest that the impact of promotional strategies is not the same for everyone and that businesses need to understand their target audience well. In conclusion, promotional selling strategies are generally perceived positively, but some consumers have reservations about such strategies. These findings emphasize the need for businesses to carefully plan their promotional strategies and understand their target audiences.

Examination of the personal characteristics (i.e., gender, participation styles) of participants and the technical infrastructure (i.e., device type, internet connection type) of Instructional Discussion Forums (IDFs) can provide functional clues for mitigating social anxiety in these settings. In this context, this research investigated variances in learners' participation styles and social anxiety in IDFs in terms of gender and ICT availability. In addition, it explored the predictive relationships between participation styles and social anxiety. A sample of 272 freshman undergraduate students discussed various topics related to Internet ethics for three weeks through an IDF. The results indicated that participation styles differed by gender and ICT availability in several respects. First, handheld devices and cellular internet connections exerted a medium-size effect on social anxiety. Further, "to get information" and "to fulfill requirement" purposes in the "Why" dimension of participation styles had a small predictive relationship with social anxiety, as did "analytical" and "practical" participation approaches in the "How" dimension. Of these, only the "to get information" purpose negatively predicted social anxiety. Overall, participation styles accounted for 19.1% of the variance in social anxiety. Based on the findings, future directions and practical implications are suggested for both researchers and practitioners.

This study investigated the impact of Problematic Internet Use (PIU) on Iranian adolescents' Psychological Well-Being (PWB), focusing on the mediating roles of sleep quality and self-regulation. Data was collected from a sample of students (n = 228, girl = 197, boy = 31) aged 12 to 19 years. Participants completed four online questionnaires, including the PIU questionnaire, the Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS), the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and the Short Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SSRQ). Results confirmed that while PIU was not directly effective on PWB, it was indirectly effective through the mediation of sleep quality and self-regulation. By gaining such understanding, we can devise interventions to enhance individuals' sleep quality and self-regulatory capacities, thereby improving their PWB.

The paper examines how new age pedagogies and neoliberal policies consciously work towards "naturalizing" English language's hegemony in institutions of Higher Education (IHE) in India. An ethnographic study the paper foregrounds the precarious positioning of non-English Indian languages "vis-à-vis" the pervading discourses of internationalization and education as job/skill oriented. Hegemony of English in the present is coupled with a restructuring of language departments as well as fleeting market demands for human capital. The paper also brings into question the role of the Internet and related technologies in reorganizing the linguistic dynamics of HE. Instead of democratizing, the Internet produces new monopolies in knowledge production, controls knowledge traffic from global North to South and further legitimizes the language hegemony. The paper argues that, in the last two decades, the neoliberal rupture has been leading HE institutions to a death of vernaculars within their physical, cultural and academic spaces.

The probability of changing preferences for study modalities was evaluated based on the experience of distance education during the COVID-19 pandemic among students of Marketing at a university in the Ecuadorian Andes. The analysis was based on the application of a questionnaire concerning factors associated with institutional conditions, as well as personal factors. Based on the data, the probability of changing the mode of study was estimated using a discrete choice model (logit-probit). The selection of the most appropriate model was based on the correct classification of the data (confusion matrix). The results show that certain aspects of personal satisfaction (physical space, dedication, time, commitment, content assimilation), Internet connection and flexibility of study plans are statistically significant. Student satisfaction with pedagogical planning, virtual platform, communication with teacher, virtual tutoring process, autonomous learning, teaching methodology, virtual classroom materials, complementary materials, evaluation process, variety of evaluation instruments and resolution of doubts do not generate changes in preferences. Therefore, the institution could promote this modality of studies by offering scheduling facilities and greater flexibility in the curriculum.

With the unprecedented shift to online or flexible learning modes, both teachers and students adapt to the new normal of education. A qualitative study aimed to draw out the voices of three beginning science teachers, the study utilized the narrative inquiry approach through in-depth interviews. It was found that beginning science teachers are faced with challenges: transitioning to the actual teaching practice and adjusting to the new normal in education. Beginning science teachers voiced out their challenges, including adapting to the culture of the new generation of students, access to a stable internet connection, problems with technology use, and teaching-learning process adjustments. Coping strategies include creative and responsive adjustments to teaching-learning, assessment of learning, learning mode, and internet connection problems and online platforms. Their stories serve as a springboard for interventions that guide and assist beginning teachers.

Indonesian universities are implementing various strategies to improve the quality and quantity of scientific publications. Sriwijaya University has restructured its research and community service grant services by implementing e-services through the new generation management information system of the institute of research and community service (SIM LPPM NG). Numerous studies have been performed to determine the factors that influence lecturer performance, particularly in scientific journals. The purpose of this research is to utilize a model to investigate the impact of system quality, information quality, and service quality on user satisfaction and performance. For partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM), 280 respondents comprised the dataset. The results demonstrated that system quality, information quality, and service quality influence user satisfaction. Individual performance is influenced by the level of user satisfaction. According to the findings of this study, the DeLone and McLean information system success model can be used to evaluate obligatory e-services that are integrated.

With the rising demand for virtual learning, districts are establishing virtual schools to offer more flexible education. This study investigates K-12 virtual learner characteristics, examines trends and issues in virtual academies, and outlines opportunities and challenges faced by stakeholders in a southeastern U.S. state. The study used a mixed-method design, combining quantitative survey data and qualitative interviews with virtual academy leaders. Results reveal that virtual learners opt for this mode of schooling due to busy extracurricular schedules, a desire to avoid crowded schools or health concerns. These students include those with special needs and high-achieving individuals. Collaboration between parents and teachers plays a crucial role. Essential factors include reliable internet access, teacher tech proficiency, and diverse curriculum development approaches. However, diverse curricular methods require additional implementation support. Balancing instructional flexibility with accountability poses a significant challenge. Virtual teachers need resources, professional development, and time, especially when transitioning from traditional to digital curriculum. Effective communication and interpersonal interactions are vital. Involving home learning coaches and community partnerships enhances the educational experience. While virtual schools offer flexible and personalized support, they encounter challenges related to resource access, social isolation, and student motivation.

The increase in borderless digital-based business competition shows how language education is impacted by neoliberalism in this global era. We explore how linguistic technopreneurship (LT) roles is increasingly constructed as a form of linguistic entrepreneurship to exploit language-related resources to enhance one's socioeconomic value strategically. This research aims to critically examine the influence of LT toward business success digitalization for Small Medium Enterprises in West Java and it's implication for Language Education. The research also focusing on the creation of novelty, namely linguistic technopreneurship (LT), which is a refinement of entrepreneurial linguistics (EL). LT is expected to be able to explain how linguistic entrepreneurship can be indexed from two different aspects, namely how to package language education and digital business success. We then discuss under what conditions the notion of linguistic technopreneurship can be applied to digital platform-based business settings and what kind of contradictions this gives rise to. The method used is quantitative, and it involves carrying out SEM analysis. A non-probability sampling technique was used to obtain a minimum of 250 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Industry owners who run their businesses through digital platforms in West Java province, which is the province with the most significant number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Industries in Indonesia. The research results show that LT significantly influences the success of business success and impact the language education practice. It can be concluded that language education is an added value for a person and influences socioeconomic success.

We explore in this paper the impulse to share our academic work via social media as well as the impact this sharing has on our senses of self as scholars and persons. We argue that this sharing raises a number of important philosophical questions: In what way does the branding or profiling encouraged by X/Twitter impact on our personal identity? How does the publicness of this particular platform disrupt the intimacy that lies at the heart of all edifying human relationship? And to invoke the terms of critical theorist, Axel Honneth, can we as teachers and researchers recognize ourselves in the social media sphere? Writing from the perspective of philosophy of education, Conroy and Smith (2017: 706) have argued that the contemporary university has been taken over by 'Professor Lookatme' and 'Dr Loudmouth' -- but we are interested in the extent to which these caricatured figures are necessarily representative of today's academy. While our paper draws attention to the dark side of social media, then, it still explores the possibilities for authentic selfhood as well as meaningful community in our increasingly digitized academic worlds.

Technology has been employed to streamline the process of acquiring knowledge and engaging in various endeavours, exemplified by the utilisation of computers. According to Dhiman (2021), there is a prevailing perception that secondary school students exhibit worse manners and earn lower academic outcomes as a result of their excessive use of mobile devices. The unregulated and extensive utilisation of technology has been found to have detrimental consequences on students' self-control and discipline, primarily due to their exposure to various media platforms, television videos, and cell phones, among other technical gadgets. This study was conducted to assess the effects of technology adaptation on students' discipline in public secondary schools in Nyamagana. The theoretical foundation for this study is aligned to Bandura's social learning theory and the Technological Acceptance Model by Davis. The study employed a mixed methods sequential exploratory research design in which data were collected through questionnaires and interviews. The data collected were analysed using both quantitative and qualitative techniques, and the results of the quantitative analysis show a positive and significant relationship between smartphone use and student discipline ([beta] = -0.228, p, <0.001). The results further explain that a 1-unit increase in smartphone use affects student discipline by 23.6%. Moreover, the findings indicate a positive and significant relationship between watching television and the effects on student discipline ([beta] = 0.315, p<0.003). The results are interpreted to mean that a 1-unit increase in watching television affects the behaviours of students by approximately 35%. On the other hand, among social media users there is a positive and significant relationship between social media use and the discipline of students ([beta] = 0.010, p<0.000). Last, the findings for online gaming show that while there was a relationship between online gaming and student discipline, but it was negative and not statistically significant ([beta] = -0.064, p<0.689). This study recommends that policy makers should take into consideration the integration of the effects of using electronic devices on secondary school students' discipline in education policy to simplify the implementation of ways of avoiding those effects. Additionally, the study recommends that teachers should ensure the implementation of the restrictions put on the use of mobile phones in schools, and education should be provided for parents and the general community on the importance of limiting students from spending much time on electronic devices.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the issue of low e-learning uptake at Mzumbe University by focusing on the answers and perceptions of students in relation to the e-learning supporting environment, which includes infrastructure, technical support, Internet connectivity, and perceived advantages of using e-learning. Data for this study were gathered using a questionnaire instrument under a quantitative approach. With a total response rate of 80.33%, 241 out of 300 respondents including undergraduate students were considered. The PLS-SEM and CFA were used for data analysis. The results of this study suggest that Mzumbe University students have a negative perception of the use of e-learning. The research also shows that an inadequate availability of Internet connections, low-quality LMS materials and contents, a lack of proper e-learning user training, and slow e-learning system accessibility are all contributing factors to the low uptake of e-learning. These variables were discovered to have a considerable impact on the uptake of e-learning at Mzumbe University, as demonstrated by the model in Figure 2. The results of this study revealed negative perceptions on the use of e-learning at Mzumbe University, which few studies have looked into. It also looked at the causes for Mzumbe University's low uptake of e-learning, and they can be applied to other institutions with comparable characteristics. Such factors consist of unavailable Internet connections, low LMS content quality, inadequate e-learning system training, and slow e-learning system accessibility. Several relevant research studies did not look into these causes of low uptake. This study recommends that significant reformulating of ICT policy to comply with new guidelines or procedures in order to successfully implement e-learning as a cutting-edge technological innovation for services linked to student teaching, learning, and administration is inevitable.

This study discusses the change and challenges of ICT use in secondary schools in Bole Sub City, Addis Ababa. The use of ICT in today's teaching and learning process is essential. Six secondary schools, eighty-seven teachers, six principals, and six department heads served as respondents for the investigation of the study, and information was obtained through questionnaires and interviews. The opinions and stands of department heads, principals, and instructors about the application and difficulties of ICT education in the teaching and learning process were ascertained using the descriptive survey method. The respondents' perceptions and attitudes were examined using the mean score and standard deviation to examine quantitative data. The results demonstrate that, even in cases where ICT is used in schools, significant obstacles exist to overcome. These obstacles include a lack of resources, poor Internet access, power outages, a shortage of time or restricted time for ICT use, a lack of technical support, a lack of funding from the government, and a lack of training.

Studies on digital rights in education have both gained attention and provided a framework for research, policy and practice in educational research within the field of educational technology. The potential benefits we appreciate in Internet use are inseparable from the maximum risks involved. Faced with this responsibility, individuals demand that their rights and freedoms be guaranteed in the digital environment according to their various roles as students, teachers, families or staff. This scoping review selects and analyses 54 theoretical and empirical studies from the last decade (2013-2023), identifying the main topics investigated as privacy protection in online environments, right to digital security or cybersecurity, and right to digital education. The review underscores the need to guide efforts towards digital education for citizens because the legal regulation of rights and responsibilities is necessary but insufficient. The paper also makes arguments about acceptance, limitations and implications for teacher training.

Since stepping into education delivery, technology continues to revolutionise education, responding to access and equity. This has made online learning to be the choice for access and equity like never seen before. Unfortunately, it has not only provided solutions but also introduced issues that have created the divide in technology and online learning for learners and institutions. The study explored online learning in the Solomon Islands from students' narratives at the Solomon Islands National University via "tok stori"; seeking to understand what they perceived as enablers and barriers of online learning. The study employed the sequential mixed-method approach and was guided by the theories of transactional distance and interaction, with the latter's extensions. The findings show that the level and strategies of support in administration, academics, and technology determine what transpires as an enabler or a barrier to online learning.

Scholars as exemplars and their linked eponyms play a significant role in education. Since the discovery of the periodic law in 1869, perceptions of Mendeleev and his eponyms may have shifted. With the aim of assessing the historical and current portrayal of Mendeleev and his eponyms in chemistry textbooks and on the Internet, content analysis of textbooks, including Soviet and contemporary Russian (11) and Ukrainian (16), was conducted. Additionally, an Internet search in 7 languages was conducted to assess the prevalence of Mendeleevian eponyms online. Primary Mendeleevian eponyms are predominantly utilized in the Russian segment of the Internet. While Mendeleev's portrayal held significance in mid-20th-century Soviet chemistry textbooks, his presence has dwindled in current Russian and Ukrainian textbooks. This decline is attributed to the obsolescence of associated chemical realities, the disputed priority of Mendeleev, and an ambiguous attitude towards him. The implications of this decline include loss of historical context, reduced memorization aids, impact on critical thinking, disruption of continuity, and reduced humanism in education. The research underscores the importance of a balanced and inclusive approach to science education, recognizing contributions from scientists of diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and highlights the interconnected nature of science education and international relations.

Online teaching has become an imperative approach in today's society. However, as an essential approach, using live streaming to teach students in small groups, particularly rural primary school students, has not been extensively studied. To address this gap, an inquiry-based model, predict-do/observe-quiz/discuss-explain-transfer (P-D/O-Q/D-E-T), was adopted for live streaming with action, and its performance was analysed. Reflection by teachers can lead them to a deeper understanding to capture the profound impact of an educational program. In the present study, eight teachers who had experience assisting rural students in this experiment were invited to rate their points of view on immersion, social interactivity, humanness, and value perception. Examining the consistency of teachers' viewpoints using the hermeneutic method, the results showed that they highly supported viewing these four constructs using live streaming to conduct inquiry-based science learning with action. As expected, using live streaming to deliver teaching with the P-D/O-Q/D-E-T approach can enrich other online science teaching.

This study aimed at examining the performance of generative artificial intelligence to extract argumentation elements from text. Thus, the researchers developed a web-based framework to provide automated assessment and feedback relying on a large language model, ChatGPT. The results produced by ChatGPT were compared to human experts across scientific and non-scientific contexts. The findings revealed marked discrepancies in the performance of AI for extracting argument components, with a significant variance between issues of a scientific nature and those that are not. Higher accuracy was noted in identifying claims, data, and qualifiers, as opposed to rebuttals, backing, and warrants. The study illuminated AI's promise for educational applications but also its shortcomings, such as the increased frequency of erroneous element identification when accuracy was low. This highlights the essential need for more in-depth comparative research on models and the further development of AI to enhance its role in supporting argumentation training.

The study explored how the quality of Internet access influenced students' online learning experiences during the pandemic-imposed large-scale adoption of online education. Drawing upon digital inequality research, we analyzed data collected from 894 higher education international students in China. We found that both access devices and Internet stability exerted significant impacts on international students' satisfaction with and performance of synchronous online learning (SOL). The path model further revealed that the underlying mechanisms through which the two dimensions of access inequality affected learning outcomes were different. While the effects of access devices on learning satisfaction and course performance were only mediated by adaptability to online pedagogy, Internet stability affected the two outcome variables via both interaction and adaptability. The study highlights the implications of these findings in the context of online education.

The study discusses data security and privacy issues in IoT installations and the ethical and legal implications of data collection in the classroom. The study also discusses upcoming trends and prospects for IoT usage in education, including AI and machine learning integration. Finally, the review provides insights for educators, decision-makers, and stakeholders, identifying research gaps and recommending areas for future IoT implementation.

The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on everyone's lives. To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, people were ordered to stay at home, whether or not they were infected. Due to psychological issues such as stress, anxiety, and depression, these lockdowns had major consequences to one's mental health. The study aimed to assess the level of anxiety and examine the factors that cause it among graduate students. The study employed a mixed method following an embedded design. Data were collected through an online survey administered to 116 graduate students of the College of Public Affairs and Development at the University of the Philippines, Los Baños. Using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7), the study found that almost three-fourths of the graduate students had anxiety. Unstable internet connection, online academic requirements, and learning loss were among the major factors that contribute to their anxiety. Accordingly, policies and interventions should be crafted to ensure that graduate students thrive in this "new normal" of teaching and learning.

The present study examined the online professional development practices of in-service English teachers. A sample of 184 in-service English teachers from various levels of education in Turkey participated in the study through an online questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS to assess the teachers' utilization of the Internet for professional development, classroom activities, and collaboration with others. The results revealed that the participants extensively utilized the Internet for professional development, classroom activities, and collaboration with others. Furthermore, significant differences were found between participants' teaching levels and their use of the internet for collaboration, frequency of internet use, and internet use for classroom practices, as well as ICT training experiences and the use of the internet for overall professional development, classroom activities, and collaboration. The findings suggest that in-service English teachers prioritized and benefited from online professional development practices, and their ICT training influenced their use of the Internet for such practices.

Faculties of Fine Arts in Turkey train artists and designers by using the universal language of art, taking into account scientific, artistic and cultural developments, developing students' creativity and productivity. In addition to the problems encountered by fine arts students and artists, who have creative personality elements, during the performance of art and the application of methods and techniques available in the literature, the level of use of technology will directly affect their artistic performances and activities. The aim of this study is to examine the creative personality traits and internet usage status-purposes of university students studying in Fine Arts Faculties on a relational basis. The study, which was conducted in the relational survey model, included 205 students studying at the fine arts faculties. Creative personality traits scale and internet usage intentions questionnaire were used to collect the data of the study. According to the findings of the study, the creativity personality traits of the participants are at a high level. In addition, creative personality traits of the students show partial differences according to gender variable. According to another result of the study, it was seen that the students of the Faculty of Fine Arts use "Social networking sites", "Video sharing sites", "Photo sharing sites" applications at a high level. Again, the internet usage purposes of the participants differ according to the gender variable. Finally, significant relationships were found between the participants' creative personality traits and their internet usage purposes.

This study aimed to examine students' perceptions on the use of "Hot Potatoes" exercises in practicing recount text material in English Subject. The research questions in this research are: 1) What are the students' perceptions on the use of "Hot Potatoes" exercises in practicing recount text material in English Subject? and 2) What are the advantages and disadvantages of using "Hot Potatoes" exercises in practicing recount text material in English Subject? The method used was a descriptive qualitative method. The participants of this research were 29 students of a senior high school in Tangerang. The findings show the students have positive responses towards the use of "Hot Potatoes" exercises in practicing recount text material in English Subject. The conclusions are the students give positive responses on the use of "Hot Potatoes" exercises in practicing recount text material in English Subject. The advantages of using Hot Potatoes exercises are related to understandable and fun questions, and instructions, the motivation improvement in English learning, the interactivity, and the variety of English exercises. Lastly the disadvantages of using "Hot Potatoes" exercises are the need for internet connection to access the exercises, and the availability of devices, and the inability of some features.

The role of ethics becomes even more significant given the huge advent and increase of cyber-criminal activities in cyberspace. It has become an urgent necessity to curb the menace of unethical practices in cyberspace and contribute ethical guidelines to a safe and secure digital environment. To minimize the growth of cybercrimes and unethical issues online, users must understand how existing societal norms and ethics can be extended according to the challenges posed by ethical dilemmas in cyberspace. Hence, understanding the importance of cyber ethics in daily life has become essential than ever before. Cyber ethics implies the rules of social engagement and responsibility in cyberspace; it is really about social responsibility in cyberspace and it is aimed at inculcating knowledge of responsible behavior in man when using the online environment. This paper is an attempt to provide an overview of the relevance of cyber ethics education in fostering responsible behavior online.

This study analyzes Turkish studies on web-based instruction in the field of science education using the meta-synthesis method with the aim of determining the general trends of the analyzed studies. A total of 20 studies published between 2006 and 2022, including 7 doctoral dissertations, 11 master theses, and 2 journal articles, were analyzed with a qualitative research design. These studies were identified using the databases of the YÖK National Thesis Center, EBSCO, Google Scholar, and ProQuest. The studies were analyzed using a coding form that included ten categories: year of publication, type of publication, purpose of the research, method, data collection tools, data analysis method, grade level, sample size, learning domain, and outcome of the research. The obtained data were interpreted according to the specified categories. It was concluded that a significant portion of the analyzed studies were conducted with the aim of examining web-based instruction and Web 2.0 tools, mixed research designs and semi-structured interview forms were most often used, most studies were conducted with students in the 6th and 7th grades, and web-based instruction was generally found to be more effective than traditional instruction. This study provides an overview of research on webbased instruction in the field of science education, serves as a resource for future research, and offers new ideas and suggestions for researchers in this field.

As a fundamental communication tool, media has undergone transformative changes throughout history. This has a lot to do with education. Each era has been characterized by its own unique media paradigms, from the invention of the printing press in the 15th century to the emergence of radio and television in the 20th century. These paradigms not only define how information is disseminated but also shape the social and political landscapes of their respective periods. In the modern age, the emergence of digital technology and the internet has brought about a new media paradigm that deeply influences every aspect of human interaction and the fabric of society. Today, new media, characterized by its interactivity, decentralization, and unprecedented access, dominates our daily lives. The significance of new media, which affects individual behaviors and global politics, economy, and cultures, cannot be underestimated. This process is also of great importance in terms of education. In particular, media literacy education will enable the individual to personally prepare for or otherwise intervene in the positive or negative aspects of their interaction with the media. From connecting distant communities to altering the dynamics of political campaigns, the impact of new media is ubiquitous. However, along with these advantages, new challenges have also emerged. One of the most concerning aspects of this shift in media is the potential for its exploitation by malicious groups, particularly evident in the rise of "terror agencies" utilizing new media platforms. These organizations adeptly employ new media tools for propaganda, recruitment, and operations, forming a symbiotic relationship that poses significant threats to global security. This article explores how new media paradigms enable the existence of terrorist organizations, the place of education in this regard, and what this complex relationship means for our interconnected world.

This study examined problem-based learning in blended learning classrooms for practicing mathematical problems in an emergency situation, such as Covid-19. For this purpose, a three-week program was framed in contrast to traditional teaching, aiming at enrichment and not remediation, for a group of fifty students' studying mathematics in a science program. The formative experiment research method was used for this study and practiced at public sector Higher Secondary School in Jehangira, district Swabi. The data were collected through a self-developed questionnaire verified by experts and were analyzed by using simple frequency distribution. Findings were mostly positive, indicating that students found problem-based learning productive in practicing mathematics, for example, solved samples helped them in answering similar problems, course work was completed timely, and use of smartphones with peers in groups helped them in better understanding the problems. The findings also revealed some concerns such as poor availability of network/internet services or non-affordability of having smart phone or internet packages, and parents' unwillingness for allowing smartphones and using the internet.

Digital technologies have become a part of everyday life, taking center stage. It has dominated people's lives and changed the way they live life. The task of protecting and raising awareness of children from the negative effects of the digital age, which especially affects the psychological, physical, social and cognitive development of children, is again on the family, school and society. For this reason, this study aims to define the concept of digital literacy for today's children by presenting a different perspective and inspiring new research to be conducted. In the study, the literature review model, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. Articles, theses, dissertations, professional publications, research and research reports on the subject were examined. In the findings section of the study, the importance of the child and the family raising him/her, the digital age and its impact on education, the importance of digital literacy in education, and the advantages and disadvantages of digital literacy are discussed. In conclusion, in order to shape the future of societies with solid foundations, it is very important to teach children digital literacy skills, which also means understanding technology and using it appropriately, in the light of customs and traditions.

This research explored students' perception vis-à-vis of the (dis)advantages of face-to-face and online learning of foreign languages in a tertiary education institution in Thailand. The research took a mixed methods approach utilizing a pre-set questionnaire and a multiple-choice question. Data were collected from 433 students using an online platform and then analyzed using simple statistics. Findings showed that the main advantages of studying online are easy access to the Internet, the self determined pace of learning, while the main advantage of face-to-face instruction is better social interaction. Conversely, the main disadvantage of studying online is the difficulty of interacting with classmates and the instructor; the main disadvantage of face-to-face learning is students feeling more self-conscious of mistakes made. The findings also indicate the participants prefer learning either in the traditional classroom environment or via the hybrid mode.

Social media has often started to be used as the first source for accessing information. Country agenda, general issues, research, new ideas, entertainment, shopping, instant communication and cooperation are the positive contributions of social media. Excessive use of social media in every aspect of life certainly causes harm. It causes serious psychological deformation, especially on adolescents, whom we call the young group. While social media can increase technical skills in adolescents, it can reduce social skills and communication and even some of the negative effects they encounter in this area can create psychological trauma. While the feeling of inadequacy, comparison and competition lead to psychological problems such as self-confidence and social anxiety; the virtualized perception of beauty poses dangers such as eating disorders in young people. Social media use, which has reached the point of addiction, adds a number of negativities to young people's lives, such as sleep deprivation, decreased time spent with family and loss of interest in real life. In light of all this, the aim of this research is to examining the social media addiction levels of young adults. The sample of the study consists of 201 university students studying in different departments of a state university in Turkey and whose age range is between 18-30 and more age. "Social media addiction scale - adult form" scale developed by Sahin and Yagci (2017) was used as a data collection tool in the study, with permission from the developer authors. In the study, the relational screening method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. As a result, a significant relationship was detected between the variables of young people's gender, age, daily internet and social media usage and their social media addictions. In addition the average social media addiction scores of university students were found to be high.

The purpose of this study was to understand the current status of ICT integration in South African schools. Yet, this study focused on the Tshwane West District schools in Gauteng Province, South Africa. This study employed a descriptive research design to understand the aforesaid phenomenon. Data was collected through interviews and open-ended questionnaires with 10 teachers and one curriculum specialist. This study employed thematic analysis as a qualitative research method. Furthermore, Roger's Diffusion of Innovations is used as a framework. Despite the existence of policies, this study revealed that the integration of ICT remained a significant challenge for several instructors in South Africa. The most interesting part was that schools had improved on most ICT tools to enable access to learning with technologies, but to a greater extent, insufficient internet coverage in classrooms made it impossible for most teachers to appreciate the benefits that come with using tools such as laptops, whiteboards, and online videos. This research proposes the installation of pocket Wi-Fi devices in every classroom in schools to provide comprehensive internet access. This will facilitate interaction between instructors and students through up-to-date learning management systems subscribed to by schools, as well as films. This will promote a digitally viable learning environment that promotes creative opportunities for learners.

This study presents an international collaboration in the Students Meet Internationally through Language Education (SMILE) project and investigates how the SMILE project impacts Thai EFL students. This program provides students with opportunities to use English as an Authentic Communication Tool (E-ACT) by sharing their experiences and culture with high school peers in Japan online. Thirty-one Thai twelfth graders from a public high school in Bangkok participated in the SMILE project in the 2022 academic year. The course of the SMILE project we describe in this paper consisted of four collaboration classes (50 minutes, four times), and each class consisted of two sessions (25 minutes, twice). In each session, the Thai students met Japanese students in the same school grade in small groups with four or five students in total. These classes were conducted via online channels. Thai students' data were collected from class observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The results revealed that the Thai students: (1) increased their confidence in using English; (2) gained broader perspectives from the cultural exchange sessions; (3) were eager to have similar collaborations with new Japanese students; and (4) showed clear enjoyment in their activities. Given these benefits, we conclude that the experience that student participants gained through the SMILE project had a substantial impact on them, which is likely to change their attitude toward studying English in the future. Besides, we discuss how current approaches to learner psychology may or may not be applied to our findings. Based on the results, the authors argue that having students with different first languages meet online should be conducted more widely in EFL circumstances.

With the development of technology, security, a core human concern throughout history, has changed and branched out into new areas. Novel security concepts, including environmental security, economic security, and cybersecurity, have emerged as a result of these expanding areas. The importance of cybersecurity has increased in the linked world of today as a result of how prevalent technology is in our daily lives. This study looks at how the literature on international relations approaches the idea of cybersecurity, with an emphasis on the role gender dynamics play. This study adopts a comprehensive strategy in recognition of the possibility that people of all genders may be affected by the dominant gender roles. The study seeks a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity by utilizing a mixed-methods research methodology that incorporates both qualitative and quantitative techniques. Conducting in-depth interviews with young adults (ages 18 to 27) who identify as people of different genders will be part of the field research. Various aspects of cybersecurity, such as perceptions of cybersecurity, understanding of security, and encounters with cyber dangers, will be covered in these interviews. The research will be carried out in both Turkey and Italy, enabling a comparison of the cybersecurity laws and conditions in these two nations. This study aims to give a fresh viewpoint by combining theoretical underpinnings with empirical fieldwork. The survey data will also be subjected to statistical analysis. The study's findings will shed light on how young adults' perceptions of cybersecurity are influenced by gender norms and what that means for cybersecurity laws. This research contributes to the larger discussion on cybersecurity and gender studies by broadening its focus beyond gender as a binary construct and offering insightful information about how gender roles affect cybersecurity views across various identities.

The COVID-19 epidemic has impacted higher education institutions across the country by switching traditional teaching practices to online learning. The attitudes of students towards elearning are essential to research in order to determine the extent to which successful implementation of online learning. Thus, this research aims to evaluate the attitudes of Indonesian students towards e-learning throughout the pandemic. The study adopted a quantitative research approach through a survey questionnaire. The attitude of students was evaluated using the attitude scale towards e-learning. The questionnaire comprised 20 items assessing students' attitudes towards remote learning. A questionnaire was distributed to 342 (255 female and 87 male) undergraduate students who took online courses at an Indonesian state university. The statistical analyses including descriptive statistics, t-tests and one-way ANOVA were used in the present study. The results suggested that students' e-learning attitudes tend to be neutral. The ttest and ANOVA indicated that there was no statistically significant gap in students' attitudes with respect to gender, daily internet usage time or level of COVID-19. Meanwhile, age, study year and personal computer ownership exerted a statistically significant impact on e-learning attitudes. Teachers can better prepare for the adoption of online learning during COVID-19 and beyond by using the valuable insights provided by the findings.

The cyber security education market has grownup exponentially, with a CAGR of 13.9 % as reported by Data Intelo. The report published by the World Economic Forum 2023 indicates a shortfall of 2.27 million cyber security experts in 2021 across different roles and hence manifest that Skill-based cyber security education is the need of the hour. Cybersecurity as a field has evolved as a multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder and multi-role discipline. Therefore, the need to address formal education with an outcome-based philosophy is imperative to address for a wider audience with varied past training in their formal education. With the Internet becoming an essential part of human life, providing security of data passed over the Internet is becoming increasingly crucial. Therefore, the role in the organization which is quite demanding is to have expertise in handling and configuring network security, a subdomain of cyber security as a priority area. The rapid increase in the network attack landscape is constantly demanding monitoring of network attacks as well as a need to promote collaborative R&D and education in the sphere of cyber security due to a shortage of skilled resources. Platform-based education is a potential direction to achieve the objective and address the skill gap required in cyber security. The present research proposes a comprehensive web-based platform that can be used to communicate, collaborate and practice various use cases in the domain of network intrusion detection tools using machine learning algorithms and to evaluate user experience. The proposed platform CySecLearn is a collection of various functionalities and features that ensure experiential learning, will help the learner to develop critical thinking and expertise in network security and promote digital literacy in the domain of cyber security.

ICT advancements have enabled more online activities, resulting in several cyberethical behaviours. The literature documents the prevalence of plagiarism and online fraud, among others. While behaviour has been explained by several theories, as scholarship and research advance, frameworks are modified to include more constructs. This paper proposes a developed framework for studying cyberethical behaviour in North Central Nigeria, with a focus on exploring the factors that influence individuals' attitudes, awareness, and perception of cyberethics. The framework is based on a modified reasoned action approach model and incorporates key constructs such as attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and awareness of cyber ethics. An adapted questionnaire was used as an instrument for collecting quantitative data. This study used multistage sampling. A sample size of 989 north-central Nigerian female university postgraduate students was selected from a population of 9,000. Perception and attitude toward cyberethical behaviour were positively correlated. Perception, awareness, and attitude toward cyberethical behaviour correlated. Perception and awareness significantly affected cyberethical behaviour. The study aims to provide insights into the factors that shape individuals' decision-making processes regarding cyberethics and to identify potential areas for intervention and education. The paper also discusses the importance of promoting cyberethics in Nigeria, given the increasing use of technology and the growing threat of cybercrime. The proposed framework offers a valuable tool for researchers and policymakers seeking to understand and address cyberethical behaviour in North Central Nigeria.
