- Abstract
Seeking to understand the bases of the project for family education undertaken by Maria Junqueira Schmidt in Brazil and the possible approximation with the project of education of the families undertaken in France, we highlight two Catholic intellectuals who were ahead the School for Parents creation, Marguerite Vérine-Lebrun (1878-1947) and Maria Junqueira Schmidt (1901-1982). Exploring the representative role of each one in the circulation of pedagogical models for education of families within their respective time and space, we raise biographical elements that allow us to understand the approximate trajectories facing the project of education for the families designed in those countries, indicating the approximations of the French model and highlighting the strategies used for the realization of the family education project of the School of Parents in Brazil that aimed to expand Catholic action in the country, in face of the trilogy of God, Motherland and Family. It was important to highlight these characters, including the formation of networks of relationship based on the studies of Sirinelli (1996), the disputes within the field and the intellectual trajectory, with the collaboration of Bourdieu (1989). 10. Mujeres en las letras y las artes en el sur de Colombia. 1930-1950.

- Abstract
This paper aims at visibilizing a group of women in the south of Colombia in the 1930s and 1940s, mostly teachers, who were poets and musical composers, breaking with models of femininity preached by the conservative hegemony. The Liberal Republic promoted new political and cultural spaces, and the sociability network that arose between these intellectuals and the writers and musicians of the time helped these women artists to overcome geographical isolation and disseminate their artwork in the region and the country. Propopograpic analysis was used to study this collective, leading to the identification of group characteristics, as well as individual peculiarities. It was found that family environments connected with intellectual or artistic life favored the development of this collective, as well as sociability networks, which promoted new experiences with writing and artistic work for these women. Resumo O objetivo deste artigo é examinar o tema da educação feminina a partir do estudo da trajetória de duas intelectuais: Iria Corrêa e Mariana Coelho, analisando suas práticas culturais de mediação, no Paraná, no período que se estende entre a segunda metade do século XIX e as primeiras décadas do século XX. Embora as duas tenham vivido em temporalidades distintas, desempenharam o papel de intelectuais mediadoras, configurando em suas trajetórias, práticas culturais que se caracterizaram por oferecer opções artísticas e educativas para mulheres em seus contextos de atuação. O corpus documental deste trabalho é composto por fontes da imprensa periódica paranaense, Relatórios da Inspetoria Pública do Paraná (1906-1917) e as memórias de Antonio Vieira dos Santos (1952). Metodologicamente a opção deste artigo é o trabalho com a perspectiva de intelectuais mediadores (SIRINELLI), o conceito de trajetória (BOURDIEU) e de gênero (SCOTT). Resumen El objetivo de este artículo es examinar el tema de la educación femenina a partir del estudio de la trayectoria de dos intelectuales: Iria Corrêa y Mariana Coelho, analizando sus prácticas culturales de mediación en Paraná, en el período comprendido entre la segunda mitad del siglo XIX y las primeras décadas del siglo XX. Si bien las dos han vivido en temporalidades distintas, desempeñaron el papel de intelectuales mediadoras, configurando en sus trayectorias prácticas culturales que se caracterizaron por ofrecer opciones artísticas y educativas para las mujeres en sus contextos laborales. El corpus documental de esta obra está compuesto por fuentes de la prensa periódica de Paraná, Informes de la Inspección Pública de Paraná (1906-1917) y las memorias de Antonio Vieira dos Santos (1952). Abstract The aim of this article is to examine the theme of female education from the study of the trajectory of two intellectuals: Iria Corrêa and Mariana Coelho, analyzing their cultural practices of mediation in Paraná, in the period between the second half of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century. Although the two have lived in different temporalities, they played the role of mediating intellectuals, configuring in their trajectories cultural practices that were characterized by offering artistic and educational options for women in their working contexts. Resumo O artigo almeja discutir os labores profissionais de mulheres na imprensa do século XIX, no Rio de Janeiro, especialmente o caso de Júlia de Albuquerque Sandy Aguiar. Dentro das epistemologias feministas, buscamos elencar a constituição de desigualdades e hierarquias que excluiu as mulheres do acesso igualitário ao universo impresso, isto é, trabalhadoras dos quadros pessoais dos jornais e com remuneração adequada. Como em meados do século isso foi impossível, a saída encontrada foi a criação de seus próprios jornais, em que temas relacionados a suas reivindicações despontam como centrais, seguido a uma busca por valorização e remuneração adequadas. Utilizamos como fonte o jornal Bello Sexo, publicado em 1862, para guiar nossas conclusões, uma vez que nele é possível constatar uma série de questões relacionadas às dificuldades no trabalho jornalístico para mulheres. Abstract The article aims to discuss the professional labors of women in the 19th century press in Rio de Janeiro, especially the case of Júlia de Albuquerque Sandy Aguiar. Within feminist epistemologies, we seek to list the constitution of inequalities and hierarchies that excluded women from equal access to the printed universe, that is, workers of the personal staff of newspapers and with adequate remuneration. As in the middle of the century this was impossible, the exit found was the creation of their own newspapers, in which themes related to their claims emerge as central, followed by a search for adequate valuation and remuneration. We use as source the newspaper Bello Sexo, published in 1862, to guide our conclusions, since it is possible to note a number of issues related to the difficulties in the journalistic work for women.

La apertura hacia nuevos espacios políticos y culturales que propició la República Liberal y las redes de sociabilidad que surgieron entre estas intelectuales y los escritores y músicos de la época, las impulsaron a superar el aislamiento geográfico del departamento y a difundir sus creaciones en la región y el país. Para estudiar este colectivo se utilizó el análisis prosopográfico o de biografía colectiva, que permitió identificar las características comunes al grupo y las peculiaridades individuales. Se encontró que los entornos familiares conectados con la vida intelectual o artística favorecieron el desempeño de este colectivo, así como también, la vinculación con redes de sociabilidad, ya que estas facilitaron su entrada a nuevas experiencias en el trabajo escritural y artístico., Cet article cherche à rendre visible un groupe de femmes du sud de la Colombie, enseignantes pour la plupart, qui dans les années 1930 et 1940 se sont données à la poésie et à la composition musicale, en établissant une rupture avec les modèles de féminité prêchée par l’hégémonie conservatrice. L’ouverture, facilitée par la République libérale, de nouveaux espaces politiques et culturels et les réseaux de sociabilité surgis entre lesdites intellectuelles et les écrivains et musiciens de l’époque ont permis à ces femmes de briser l’isolement géographique du département et de diffuser leurs créations dans la région et dans l’ensemble du pays. Pour étudier ce groupe, nous avons fait une analyse prosopographique (dite aussi biographie collective), afin d’identifier les caractéristiques communes et les particularités individuelles. To study the role of women in Ancient Greek intellectual landscape means facing the absence of textual evidence of their work, which forces to employ the testimonies of their lives embedded, almost always, in others thinkers' doxography. This is the case of Aspasia of Miletus, who was part of Pericles' circle. In this paper I will present a doxographical reconstruction of Aspasia's activity in the fifth century, bearing in mind the historical situation when she lived and the challenges she faced for being a woman. La intención de este artículo es analizar la evolución de la imagen pública de María Teresa León a lo largo de tres fases: una primera marcada por su presencia activa e influyente durante la Segunda República y la Guerra Civil; una segunda determinada por el silencio y el ostracismo, que se inicia con el exilio y alcanza hasta la Transición; y una tercera de recuperación, impulsada por los estudios desde la perspectiva de género y la búsqueda de modelos y referentes. La metodología seguida se basa tanto en la revisión iconográfica y el análisis de las fuentes, prensa periódica y fondos fotográficos públicos y privados, como en estudiar su repercusión bibliográfica. The intention of this article is to analyze the evolution of the public image of María Teresa León throughout three phases: a first marked by her active and influential presence during the Second Republic and the Civil War; a second determined by silence and ostracism, which begins with exile and reaches until the Transition; and a third of recovery, driven by studies from the gender perspective and the search for models and references. The methodology followed is based both on the iconographic review and the analysis of the sources, periodical press and public and private photographic funds, as well as on studying the bibliographic repercussion of it.

18. On the Intermediary Effect of Intellectual Women's Gender Awareness Upon the Relationship Between Self-efficacy and Retirement Expectation.

A questionnaire involving 1 200 intellectual women in such cities and provinces as Tianjin, Shandong and Hebei is administered, whose results show that intellectual women's gender awareness and self-efficacy both exert remarkable predictive effect on retirement expectation, A further exploration and research reveal that gender awareness has direct and indirect predictive effect on retirement expectation. In the indirect way, the retirement expectation of intellectual women could be predicted by self-efficacy based on the intermediary effect of gender awareness whereas in the direct way, the retirement expectation could be predicted directly by gender awareness. The more gender awareness and self-efficacy an intellectual woman has, the more willing she is to delay her retirement date, and vice versa. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Buwei Yang Chao( 1889-1981), known as the wife of Yuen Ren Chao( 1892 -1982), the linguist, had written two autobiography books which named Autobiography of a Chinese Woman( 一個女人的自傳) and Family of Chaos( 雜記趙家). This paper is a summary of Buwei Yang Chao's life and the details of her autobiography's publication, as a preliminary study of her autobiography. This paper will also show that the linguistic representation of Buwei Yang Chao is like a kind of private expression, which is not strictly in accordance with Modern Written Chinese, but related to gender.

This doctoral research has as main objective to understand the intellectual trajectory of the teacher, doctor, historian and poet Eudésia Vieira. The argument of this theory is that Eudésia Vieira represented as a cultural mediator of the feminine and feminist causes in Paraíba, defending the new woman feminine model, reconciling the traditional woman's illustration and of the progressive woman. The temporal cut of this study takes as reference the dates of publication of its two books of Homeland history: points of Brazil from 1921 and the Terras of the Tabajaras 1955. For this purpose, the texts of their authorship were used as sources, such as Articles in newspapers and magazines, autobiography, poetry and Textbooks. In addition to these, biographies, biographical entries and scholarly researches that dealt with his intellectual contribution have been also investigated. The references of historical hermeneutics and feminist studies helped with the methodological elaboration of the research and the interpretation of the selected sources. The categories of intellectuals and gender allowed, in general, to understand how women were inserted in the intellectual spaces of the period and, in particular, how the presence of Eudésia Vieira took place in places still marked by the male figure. Accordingly, the itinerary of formation of the character was searched, identifying the strong presence of the Catholic religion in the education of women of the period and their participation in the networks of sociability of the state, such as the Association of Primary Teachers and the Historical Geographic Institute of Paraíba, which gave her legitimacy to deal with the feminist and educational issues in vogue. Eventually, we sought to understand the generation of contemporary women writers Eudésia Vieira and the themes they shared about: the defense of women's political participation, education as a nation's regeneration, the abolition of slavery and the ideal of peace of Brazilian and Paraiba identities Nenhuma Esta pesquisa de doutorado tem como objetivo principal compreender a trajetória intelectual da professora, médica, historiadora e poetisa Eudésia Vieira. O argumento desta tese é que Eudésia Vieira figurou como mediadora cultural das causas femininas e feministas na Paraíba, defendendo o modelo feminino da nova mulher, conciliando a figura da mulher tradicional e da mulher progressista. O recorte temporal deste estudo toma como referência as datas de publicações de seus dois livros de história pátria: Pontos de História do Brasil de 1921 e de Terras dos Tabajaras 1955. Para tanto, se utilizou como fontes os textos de sua autoria, como, por exemplo: artigos em jornais e revistas, autobiografia, poesias e livros didáticos. Além dessas, também se investigou as biografias, os verbetes biográficos e as pesquisas acadêmicas que trataram da sua contribuição intelectual, bem como textos produzidos por outros/as intelectuais da época sobre os temas abordados neste estudo. Os referenciais da hermenêutica histórica e dos estudos feministas auxiliaram com a elaboração metodológica da pesquisa e com a interpretação das fontes selecionadas. As categorias de intelectuais e de gênero possibilitaram, de modo geral, compreender como as mulheres se inseriram nos espaços intelectuais do período e, de modo particular, como se deu a presença de Eudésia Vieira nos lugares ainda marcados pela figura masculina. Diante disso, se perquiriu o itinerário de formação da personagem, se identificando a forte presença da religião católica na educação das mulheres do período e a sua participação nas redes de sociabilidade, como, por exemplo: Escola Normal da Paraíba, Associação dos Professores Primários, Instituto Histórico Geográfico da Paraíba e Faculdade de Medicina do Recife, os quais lhe davam legitimidade para tratar dos temas feministas e educacionais em voga. As mulheres de Oitocentos que ousaram inverter a ordem estabelecida e se assumiram publicamente como intelectuais na imprensa periódica foram verdadeiras heroínas. Os textos por elas escritos sobre a sua evolução intelectual, ou sobre a emancipação da mulher, sobre a igualdade entre sexos e sobre as condições de vida das mulheres do seu tempo, são testemunhos de arrojo raro. Desmontando múltiplos preconceitos relativos à educação e à instrução, elas provocaram a mudança de velhas e impostas identidades relativas à mulher., Nineteenth century Portuguese women who dared to revolutionize the social order imposed by men and decided to write in the feminine or male press can be considered true heroines. The texts they wrote on their evolution as intellectuals, on equality between the sexes and on the prevailing feminine conditions of life testify to their rare audacity. Not only were several prejudices concerning education and instruction turned upside down but they also began to change longstanding and established identities regarding women.

RESUMO Este artigo aborda a trajetória da intelectual e educadora católica Maria Junqueira Schmidt a partir do diálogo com Sirinelli e Bourdieu. O texto coloca em relevo não apenas as disputas e as tensões, mas também as alianças e as mediações em torno de projetos educacionais que vigoraram na sociedade brasileira entre os anos de 1920 e 1980. Isso nos instiga a pensar na presença feminina no campo educacional além das salas de aula do ensino primário. No caso da personagem estudada, sua trajetória nos deixa pistas de que sua construção como intelectual se deu por vários caminhos. Tendo transitado fluidamente entre a intelectualidade católica e laica, Maria Junqueira representou os interesses da Igreja em postos que ocupou junto ao Estado. Ao mesmo tempo esses espaços lhes serviram como dispositivos de empoderamento que referendavam cada vez mais sua atuação profissional como mulher e como representante de uma elite intelectual católica. ABSTRACT This article discusses the trajectory of Catholic intellectual and educator Maria Junqueira Schmidt, from the ideas by Sirinelli and Bourdieu. The text highlights not only the disputes and tensions, but also the alliances and mediations around educational projects that have been in course in Brazilian society between the years of 1920 and 1980, and instigate us to think about the feminine presence in the educational field beyond the classrooms. In the case of this particular character, her trajectory gives us clues that her construction as an intellectual came about several ways. Having moved fluidly between Catholic and secular intellectuality, Maria Junqueira represented the interests of the Church in positions she occupied in the State. At the same time, these spaces served as empowerment devices that increasingly supported her professional work as a woman and as a representative of a Catholic intellectual elite.
