Emerging evidence suggests pharmacy-based point-of-care (POC) testing for acute respiratory infectious diseases is beneficial, but not widely implemented. A theory-informed review to understand the factors influencing service Implementation is lacking. To examine the extent, range, and nature of research available on enablers and barriers to POC testing Implementation for infectious respiratory diseases in community pharmacies and identify their underpinning theoretical constructs using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR). Scoping review guided by the JBI Manual for Evidence Synthesis. A comprehensive search from inception to June 28th, 2022 was conducted using Medline, Embase, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, and ProQuest dissertations without date or language restriction. Eligible articles investigated barriers and/or facilitators to strep throat, influenza, C-reactive protein, and COVID-19 POC testing in community pharmacies. Two reviewers independently performed title & abstract screening, full-text screening, and data extraction. Content analysis was conducted according to a pre-established Framework and concepts were mapped to the CFIR. Forty-three studies were included. Most originated from the USA (n = 24; 56%) and investigated strep throat. The majority were testing/initial Implementation projects (n = 23; 54%) conducted in urban centers (n = 17; 40%). Thirty-six (84%) studies used quantitative methodology, while 6 (14%) were qualitative. Only four studies (9%) used theory to guide their inquiry. The 124 identified Implementation factors mapped onto 21 CFIR constructs, covering all 5 domains. The domain "Outer setting" (n = 35/43; 81%) was most prevalent as were the constructs "Patient needs and resources," (n = 21/43; 49%) "External policy & incentives," (n = 17/43; 40%) and "Relative advantage" (n = 17/43; 40%). A large volume of research explores factors influencing the Implementation of pharmacy-based respiratory infectious disease POC testing services, but few studies use qualitative or theory-informed methods. DOTs have shown increasing interest in adopting emerging and wireless technologies, as evident in various Federal Highway Administration Every Day Counts initiative. This study employs a mixed-methods approach, using survey responses from DOT personnel to evaluate the relative significance of technology implementation factors and subfactors. The six factors for successful technology implementation explored in this study are Organization Structure, Information Technology Infrastructure, Data Security, Information Workflow, Personnel Training, and Stakeholder Engagement. The study also evaluates the relative importance of People, Process, and Technology for each of these six factors. The paper focuses on providing detailed insights into the different criteria of each technology implementation factor and subfactor to guide agencies in successful technology deployment. Understanding these factors is critical to deploying emerging technologies successfully, which, in turn, leads to much-needed efficiency and productivity in highway construction and asset management. The findings of this study can help DOTs prioritize their technology investments and ultimately contribute to the development of a more advanced and sustainable transportation infrastructure system. To assist enterprises in adapting to the challenges of the digital era during the product eco-design stage, based on the synergistic symbiosis theory and the eco-strategy wheel, combined with literature research and expert interviews, this study identifies 11 factors for enterprises to realize product eco-design under digital collaboration. In this study, the Decision-making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method was used to aggregate the identified 11 factors into four factor sets: strong cause, weak cause, strong result, and weak result; and the Interpretive Structural Model (ISM) was used to create a multilevel recursive model of product eco-design for digital collaboration. The study's findings show that: digital collaborative product eco-design is a combination of intra-organizational, intra-organizational, and external organizational synergies; and digital collaboration improves the efficiency of eco-design technology acquisition. This research provides a scientific foundation for company managers to make product eco-design decisions in the context of the worldwide digitalization trend.

Background: The utilization of electronic prescribing is growing, prompted by lockdown measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, despite this increasing adoption, there is a notable dearth of consolidated evidence regarding the challenges and opportunities associated with the integration of electronic prescribing systems within the daily clinical practices of community pharmacists. Objective: This paper aims to systematically review the community pharmacists' perspectives on barriers and facilitators to electronic prescribing, addressing the significant need for understanding how electronic prescribing impacts the workflow and decision-making processes of pharmacists, ultimately influencing the quality of patient care. Methods: PubMed, Embase, and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) databases were searched from January 1, 2000, to October 25, 2022, using search terms related to electronic prescribing, computerised physician order entry, community/retail pharmacies, and pharmacists. Results: A total of 28 studies were included in the systematic review. In these studies, community pharmacists perceived that design, interoperability, attitude towards e-prescribing technology, information quality, workflow, productivity, and accessible resources facilitated e-prescribing. In addition, the included studies emphasized the importance of technological support for the successful implementation of electronic prescribing systems. The system's design characteristics significantly improve e-prescribing technology's favourable effects. According to our review, it has been proposed that a poorly designed e-prescribing system can have a negative impact on the quality of care, implementation, and user satisfaction. In contrast, a well-designed system can significantly contribute to improvements. Conclusions: The review highlighted that e-prescribing has both barriers and facilitators, with the quality of the system and its implementation influencing these factors. Technical issues and user acceptance (patient/prescribers/pharmacists) can act as barriers or enablers, highlighting the need for comprehensive consideration and monitoring of e-prescribing to identify and address potential issues.

Minor ailment service (MAS) is a professional pharmacy service assisting patients to manage minor ailments. MAS involves a structured consultation process with protocols which delineate professional practice. INDICA+PRO is a project, started in 2017, which evaluates the impact and subsequently implementation of MAS in Spanish community pharmacies. This paper reports on the experience of implementing the service in a single pharmacy. Implementation factors (barriers and facilitators) were detected and a series of strategies were developed and used as part of the implementation program of MAS through a practice program, INDICA+PRO. The implementation strategies, such as highlighting the advantages of MAS for the pharmacy, incentives for the provision of the service and/or the distribution of tasks within the team were used to overcome barriers. Facilitators included the availability of a consultation room in the pharmacy, good relationships with nearby health centers and the provision of other professional services in the pharmacy. The advantages obtained from MAS, following the inclusion in the software (SEFAC eXPERT®) of the agreed protocols and clinical information, were improved patient follow-up, increased communication within the team and with patients, the pharmacy having a clinical history of the minor ailments and the ability of being able to prepare standardized reports. SBIRT is an evidenced-based intervention model designed to reduce substance use. While initially used in medical settings, SBIRT implementation has evolved into non-medical settings with mixed evidence of effectiveness. This exploratory qualitative study sought to understand what factors influence implementation of SBIRT in non-medical settings. Interviews were conducted with 15 practitioners trained in SBIRT. Findings suggest that eight factors influenced SBIRT implementation in these settings, including compatibility of SBIRT with the setting, staff training/staffing, client factors, time, leadership, policy, available resources, and perception of advantage/efficacy of SBIRT. Abstract Background Evaluation of the current physical therapy practice for German stroke rehabilitation with respect to the ‘Rehabilitation of Mobility after Stroke (ReMoS)’ guideline recommendations and the associated implementation factors. Methods A descriptive cross-sectional study employing an online survey was performed among German physical therapists in 2019. The survey consisted of three sections with open and closed questions: 1) self-reported use of ReMoS recommendations, 2) barriers of guideline use and 3) socio-demographic characteristics. The benchmark level for guideline adherent physical therapy was set at > 80%. Results Data from 170 questionnaires were eligible for analysis. Participants’ mean age was 41.6 years, 69.4% were female, while 60.1% had no academic degree. The ReMoS guideline was unknown to 52.9% of the responders. Out of all the 46 ReMoS guideline recommendations, only ‘intensive walking training without a treadmill’ was reported to be performed in a guideline adherent manner. Respondents usually denied any personal limitations, such as limited knowledge, or that the ReMoS guideline did not fit their routine practice. Conclusions Among German physical therapists, the ReMoS guideline is not well-known and many interventions are not performed as recommended, illustrating the discrepancies between the ReMoS guideline recommendations and current physical therapy practice. Interventions aimed at overcoming this gap should consider both knowledge of existing barriers and facilitators of guideline usage. INTRODUCTION: Prevention science and quality standards of drug prevention in the EU and in the world have developed in recent decades. Progress has been made in quality development in Croatia, but the experience of the process of improving the field of drug prevention and the implementation of quality standards in Croatia has not been described in detail in the literature. This case study is an example of adaptation of the European QS and the emergence of other quality assurance components in the field of addiction prevention in the Republic of Croatia. The study describes the Croatian example of the implementation of QS from the perspective of the Service for Combating Drug Abuse (hereinafter SCDA) of the Croatian Institute of Public Health (hereinafter CIPH), and the context, processes, mechanisms, and activities that contributed to the implementation of QS in the Republic of Croatia. METHODS: Narrative review from database searches, literature review including grey literature, followed by a subsequent content analysis. RESULTS: The current study includes the background of the circumstances in which the implementation of QS occurred, as well as the activities that were performed. In addition, factors that could have contributed to the implementation of QS are presented. CONCLUSIONS: This Croatian case study suggests that different factors at a different level can influence QS implementation. The implementation of QS in the field of drug prevention is a long-term process influenced by various factors at the macro, mezzo, and micro levels. The study presents the shifts that have occurred as a result of the activities carried out and selected factors that could influence the implementation of QS at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels (or together). Reflection on the Croatian study on the implementation of QS may contribute and inspire/facilitate the implementation of QS and similar processes in other countries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Digital transformation leveraging Industry 4.0 is referred to as a strategic solution to handle the challenges given by growing competition and unpredictable customer demands in today's highly competitive business environment. However, transitioning to Industry 4.0 for sustainable manufacturing would require a thorough understanding of key implementation factors. The objective of this paper is to examine and validate the interrelationships among the factors influencing the implementation of Industry 4.0 for achieving sustainability in manufacturing. To accomplish this objective, the paper used an integrated methodological approach (i.e., TISM and PLS-SEM) to model the factors influencing Industry 4.0 implementation. The total interpretive structural equation modeling (TISM) technique was used to develop the hierarchical structural model in order to investigate the interrelationships among the Industry 4.0 implementation factors. The partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach was used to validate the interrelationships identified through TISM. Initially, implementation factors of Industry 4.0 for sustainable manufacturing have been identified. Following the identification of the factors, the opinion of experts was sought through a questionnaire-based survey to finalize them. The hypotheses were analyzed to test the significance of interrelationships among different constructs of Industry 4.0 factors. The findings indicate that factors like environmental regulations for sustainability, adequate labor laws for workforce working in the digital environment, continuous support and commitment from top management, effective restructuring of the organization, adequate support from different stakeholders, and strategic roadmap for digital transformation and branding of green image have the maximum influence on Industry 4.0 implementation for sustainability. Furthermore, the obtained results were in accordance when validated using PLS-SEM. Between two possible practices when supervising a remote synchronous evaluation, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of Spanish universities opted for the use of videoconferences with audio and active video, instead of implementing e-proctoring. Thus, in order to analyze the reasons for this non-implementation and take measures so that its use can be extended in the Spanish university system, this study focused on identifying the critical factors in the decision of Spanish universities to accept and implement e-proctoring as a method of remote supervision. For this, a causal study was carried out using the methodology of fuzzy cognitive maps, and the data obtained were processed through the FCMappers tool. This allowed a glimpse of the key role played by students in this non-implementation (who alleged the non-possibility of having the resources necessary for the use of e-proctoring and the violation of privacy that the use of this tool entailed) and highlighted the role of the "pressure or incentives from government" factor if these allegations are to be eliminated and if e-proctoring is to be implemented in Spanish universities. Abstract Background Over the past decade several physical activity (PA) interventions have been shown to be efficacious in a controlled research setting, however there is a continued lack of evidence for how to successfully implement these PA interventions in real-world settings such as the community. This review aims to explore the barriers and facilitators that affect the implementation of community-based PA interventions and make recommendations to improve implementation from the included studies. Methods A systematic literature search of EBSCOhost, Scopus, PUBMED and Web of Science was conducted to identify articles that reported qualitative data on the implementation factors of community-based interventions where PA was a primary outcome. Data were extracted using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) as a guide. Implementation factors and recommendations were then mapped onto the 5 domains of the CFIR and synthesised thematically. Results From 495 articles, a total of 13 eligible studies were identified, with 6 studies using a mixed methods approach, and 7 reporting qualitative methods only. There were 82 implementation factors identified, including 37 barriers and 45 facilitators, and a further 26 recommendations from the papers across all 5 domains of the CFIR. More barriers than facilitators were identified within the CFIR domain inner setting, in contrast to all other domains where facilitator numbers outweighed barriers. Conclusions This review identified many facilitators and barriers of implementing physical activity interventions in the community. A key finding of this review was the impact of implementation strategies on successful implementation of community PA interventions. From the evidence, it was clear that many barriers to implementation could have been negated or reduced by an implementation plan in which several strategies are embedded. The findings of this review also suggest more attention to individual’ skills and involvement is needed to improve self-efficacy and knowledge. The role of individuals across all organisational levels, from providers to leaders, can impact on the implementation of an intervention and its success. Abstract Background Implementation research has delved into barriers to implementing change and interventions for the implementation of innovation in practice. There remains a gap, however, that fails to connect implementation barriers to the most effective implementation strategies and provide a more tailored approach during implementation. This study aimed to explore barriers for the implementation of professional services in community pharmacies and to predict the effectiveness of facilitation strategies to overcome implementation barriers using machine learning techniques. Methods Six change facilitators facilitated a 2-year change programme aimed at implementing professional services across community pharmacies in Australia. A mixed methods approach was used where barriers were identified by change facilitators during the implementation study. Change facilitators trialled and recorded tailored facilitation strategies delivered to overcome identified barriers. Barriers were coded according to implementation factors derived from the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research and the Theoretical Domains Framework. Tailored facilitation strategies were coded into 16 facilitation categories. To predict the effectiveness of these strategies, data mining with random forest was used to provide the highest level of accuracy. A predictive resolution percentage was established for each implementation strategy in relation to the barriers that were resolved by that particular strategy. Results During the 2-year programme, 1131 barriers and facilitation strategies were recorded by change facilitators. The most frequently identified barriers were a ‘lack of ability to plan for change’, ‘lack of internal supporters for the change’, ‘lack of knowledge and experience’, ‘lack of monitoring and feedback’, ‘lack of individual alignment with the change’, ‘undefined change objectives’, ‘lack of objective feedback’ and ‘lack of time’. The random forest algorithm used was able to provide 96.9% prediction accuracy. The strategy category with the highest predicted resolution rate across the most number of implementation barriers was ‘to empower stakeholders to develop objectives and solve problems’. Conclusions Results from this study have provided a better understanding of implementation barriers in community pharmacy and how data-driven approaches can be used to predict the effectiveness of facilitation strategies to overcome implementation barriers. Tailored facilitation strategies such as these can increase the rate of real-time implementation of innovations in healthcare, leading to an industry that can confidently and efficiently adapt to continuous change.

Abstract Background Research in global mental health (GMH) has previously documented how contextual factors like political instability, poverty and poorly-funded health infrastructure continue to compromise effective and equitable mental health service delivery. There is a need to develop more feasible and evidence-based solutions through implementation research. This paper, one in a series pertaining to implementation in GMH projects worldwide, focuses on implementation factors influencing mental health service delivery. Methods This is a qualitative study carried out as part of a Theory of Change-driven evaluation of Grand Challenges Canada’s (GCC’s) Global Mental Health portfolio. Purposive sampling was used to recruit twenty-nine GCC grantees for interviews. A semi-structured interview schedule was used to guide the interviews which were recorded and subsequently transcribed. Transcripts were double-coded and analyzed in NVivo 11 using framework analysis. This paper reports results related to detection and treatment of mental illness, mental health promotion and prevention of mental illness. Results Key barriers included: lack of appropriate human resources and expertise for service delivery; lack of culturally appropriate screening tools and interventions; and difficulties integrating services with the existing mental health system. Formative research was a key driver facilitating the cultural adaptation of mental health detection, treatment, promotion and preventative approaches. Recruiting local providers and utilizing mHealth for improving screening, monitoring and data management were also found to be successful approaches in reducing workforce burden, improving sustainability, mental health literacy, participant engagement and uptake. Conclusions The study identifies a number of key barriers to and drivers of successful service delivery from the perspective of grantees implementing GMH projects. Findings highlight several opportunities to mitigate common challenges, providing recommendations for strengthening systems- and project-level approaches for delivering mental health services. Further, more inclusive research is required to inform guidance around service delivery for successful implementation, better utilization of funding and improving mental health outcomes among vulnerable populations in low-resource settings.

Background: Implementation factors are hypothesised to moderate the implementation of innovations. Although individual barriers and facilitators have been identified for the implementation of different evidence-based services in pharmacy, relationships between implementation factors are usually not considered.Objectives: To examine how a network of implementation factors and the position of each factor within this network structure influences the implementation of a medication review service in community pharmacy.Methods: A mixed methods approach was used. Medication review with follow-up service was the innovation to be implemented over 12 months in community pharmacies. A network analysis to model relationships between implementation factors was undertaken. Two networks were created.Results: Implementation factors hindering the service implementation with the highest centrality measures were time, motivation, recruitment, individual identification with the organization and personal characteristics of the pharmacists. Three hundred and sixty-nine different interrelationships between implementation factors were identified. Important causal relationships between implementation factors included: workflow-time; characteristics of the pharmacy-time; personal characteristics of the pharmacists-motivation. Implementation factors facilitating the implementation of the service with highest centrality scores were motivation, individual identification with the organization, beliefs, adaptability, recruitment, external support and leadership. Four hundred and fifty-six different interrelationships were identified. The important causal relationships included: motivation-external support; structure-characteristics of the pharmacy; demographics-location of the pharmacy.Conclusion: Network analysis has proven to be a useful technique to explore networks of factors moderating the implementation of a pharmacy service. Relationships were complex with most implementation factors being interrelated. Motivation and individual identification with the organisation seemed critical factors in both hindering and facilitating the service implementation. Background: Community pharmacies increasingly offer professional pharmacy services, whose implementation is often influenced by facilitating or obstructive implementation factors. The occurrence and composition of implementation factors vary among different services with discrete characteristics and complexity of the intervention, making it difficult to foresee potential barriers in implementation.Objective(s): This paper investigates potential associations between intervention complexity and occurring implementation factors.Methods: A systematic literature search on the implementation factors and intervention complexity of professional pharmacy services in the community setting was carried out in electronic databases (PubMed, CINAHL, and PsycINFO) throughout December 2018. Implementation factors were extracted from semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and surveys with community pharmacists and categorized using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR). The complexity of each service was assessed using the following complexity parameters: (I) number of involved healthcare professions, (II) number of service components such as recruiting of patients, screening intervention, and follow-up, (III) frequency of the service, (IV) expenditure of time per patient (encounter), and (V) workflow distortion, i.e. booking appointments for intervention with the patient. Finally, the association between implementation factors and intervention complexity was analyzed by quantifying implementation factors and by relating them to specific intervention characteristics using Fisher's exact test.Results: 15 studies covering a broad spectrum of professional pharmacy services were included. There was a trend that in services with higher complexity more implementation factors occurred (p = 0.094). Single key complexity parameters can trigger specific implementation factors. For instance, general practitioner and pharmacy technician involvement were significantly associated with interprofessional communication and leadership engagement, respectively.Conclusion: Key implementation factors and associated complexity parameters seem to be of similar or more importance than the total number of implementation factors with regard to successful implementation. By assessing various complexity parameters of an intervention, potential key barriers could be identified and subsequently addressed prior to implementation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The study of yoga offers much to the field of education. Yoga consists of postures, breathing activities and relaxation techniques geared toward promoting self-regulation. Several yoga interventions for preschoolers have demonstrated significant gains on self-regulation outcomes. Although these benefits are promising, there are limited qualitative studies investigating the perspectives of key stakeholders, such as teachers. Using a grounded theory research design, the author analyzed eight focus groups and six interviews with nine teachers who participated in an 8-week yoga intervention. This study investigated (1) the application of grounded theory as an exploratory research tool, which elucidated teachers' observations of key implementation factors for effectiveness, such as adaptations of the intervention, classroom spacing and components of yoga lessons, (2) teachers' observations of students' internalizations of the yoga skills and (3) teachers' reflections on how the yoga influenced their attitudes toward students. Background: Implementation research has delved into barriers to implementing change and interventions for the implementation of innovation in practice. There remains a gap, however, that fails to connect implementation barriers to the most effective implementation strategies and provide a more tailored approach during implementation. This study aimed to explore barriers for the implementation of professional services in community pharmacies and to predict the effectiveness of facilitation strategies to overcome implementation barriers using machine learning techniques.Methods: Six change facilitators facilitated a 2-year change programme aimed at implementing professional services across community pharmacies in Australia. A mixed methods approach was used where barriers were identified by change facilitators during the implementation study. Change facilitators trialled and recorded tailored facilitation strategies delivered to overcome identified barriers. Barriers were coded according to implementation factors derived from the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research and the Theoretical Domains Framework. Tailored facilitation strategies were coded into 16 facilitation categories. To predict the effectiveness of these strategies, data mining with random forest was used to provide the highest level of accuracy. A predictive resolution percentage was established for each implementation strategy in relation to the barriers that were resolved by that particular strategy.Results: During the 2-year programme, 1131 barriers and facilitation strategies were recorded by change facilitators. The most frequently identified barriers were a 'lack of ability to plan for change', 'lack of internal supporters for the change', 'lack of knowledge and experience', 'lack of monitoring and feedback', 'lack of individual alignment with the change', 'undefined change objectives', 'lack of objective feedback' and 'lack of time'. The random forest algorithm used was able to provide 96.9% prediction accuracy. The strategy category with the highest predicted resolution rate across the most number of implementation barriers was 'to empower stakeholders to develop objectives and solve problems'.Conclusions: Results from this study have provided a better understanding of implementation barriers in community pharmacy and how data-driven approaches can be used to predict the effectiveness of facilitation strategies to overcome implementation barriers. Tailored facilitation strategies such as these can increase the rate of real-time implementation of innovations in healthcare, leading to an industry that can confidently and efficiently adapt to continuous change. However, few implementation factors of information and communication technology are used in the life cycle cost management of buildings. The research assumes that the most critical implementation factor is the investment cost for information and communication technologies used in cost management during the life cycle. The relative importance index method was used to evaluate and quantify the final rank of implementation factors. This study seeks to determine the most influential factors in the decision of hotels to accept and implement the Internet of Things in their services through a literary review and a causal study carried out on experts in technology and hotels. The methodology involves the use of fuzzy cognitive maps and the FCMappers tool. The results obtained show that the following factors are among the most influential (in order of relevance): the perceived reliability of the technology, the relative advantage it gives, the level of top management support, compatibility, customer pressure, information systems provider support, security, business partner pressure, characteristics of the leader or manager, government pressure or incentives, pressure from competitors, technological organizational readiness, complexity, size of the company, and the perceived cost. Background: Research in global mental health (GMH) has previously documented how contextual factors like political instability, poverty and poorly-funded health infrastructure continue to compromise effective and equitable mental health service delivery. There is a need to develop more feasible and evidence-based solutions through implementation research. This paper, one in a series pertaining to implementation in GMH projects worldwide, focuses on implementation factors influencing mental health service delivery. Methods: This is a qualitative study carried out as part of a Theory of Change-driven evaluation of Grand Challenges Canada's (GCC's) Global Mental Health portfolio. Purposive sampling was used to recruit twenty-nine GCC grantees for interviews. A semi-structured interview schedule was used to guide the interviews which were recorded and subsequently transcribed. Transcripts were double-coded and analyzed in NVivo 11 using framework analysis. This paper reports results related to detection and treatment of mental illness, mental health promotion and prevention of mental illness. Results: Key barriers included: lack of appropriate human resources and expertise for service delivery; lack of culturally appropriate screening tools and interventions; and difficulties integrating services with the existing mental health system. Formative research was a key driver facilitating the cultural adaptation of mental health detection, treatment, promotion and preventative approaches. Recruiting local providers and utilizing mHealth for improving screening, monitoring and data management were also found to be successful approaches in reducing workforce burden, improving sustainability, mental health literacy, participant engagement and uptake. Conclusions: The study identifies a number of key barriers to and drivers of successful service delivery from the perspective of grantees implementing GMH projects. Findings highlight several opportunities to mitigate common challenges, providing recommendations for strengthening systems- and project-level approaches for delivering mental health services. Further, more inclusive research is required to inform guidance around service delivery for successful implementation, better utilization of funding and improving mental health outcomes among vulnerable populations in low-resource settings. People with disabilities face many barriers in the built environment impacting their mobility, health, and social participation. In the US, under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), municipalities were required to develop and implement barrier-removal plans for pedestrian infrastructure, called ADA transition plans, but very few have done so. Many communities know they need a plan but do not know how to get it done because of a lack of understanding of the many different implementation considerations. Implementation science offers a useful approach for understanding complex policy implementation such as ADA plans. This paper provides a reflection on the adaptation of the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) to evaluate the implementation of ADA transition planning. To apply the CFIR, we tailored the construct definitions and modified them to fit the specific context of the ADA transition planning process. We documented the constructs that were more challenging to apply, those that were not relevant, and those that were particularly useful. This paper can serve as a valuable example that other researchers can use when considering adapting the CFIR or other implementation frameworks for the evaluation of complex social policy beyond the ADA., (Copyright © 2023 Elsevier Ltd. Within only a couple of years, Industry 4.0 made the transition from a potential buzzword with an uncertain future to a serious manufacturing concept that is adopted by a constantly increasing number of companies. However, recent studies suggest that corporations struggle with the transitional process or even hesitate to implement Industry 4.0 at all. As a consequence, several investigations examined the potential factors that influence the implementation of Industry 4.0. Yet a comprehensive view of the issue cannot be formed because the findings are spread throughout a number of publications, and no single study has attempted to synthesize previous investigations. Therefore, this study sets out to build a solid foundation for future research and to provide orientation for practitioners and governmental institutions by building a bridge between what already has been explored and by showing how the Systems Thinking perspective can help to get a better understanding of the complex nature of Industry 4.0. Based on a systematic literature review, this study presents and discusses a comprehensive list of potential factors that influence the implementation of Industry 4.0 and strengthens the idea that further research is necessary in order to address contradictory findings and to develop efficient Industry 4.0 implementation frameworks. Background: The utilization of electronic prescribing is growing, prompted by lockdown measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, despite this increasing adoption, there is a notable dearth of consolidated evidence regarding the challenges and opportunities associated with the integration of electronic prescribing systems within the daily clinical practices of community pharmacists., Objective: This paper aims to systematically review the community pharmacists' perspectives on barriers and facilitators to electronic prescribing, addressing the significant need for understanding how electronic prescribing impacts the workflow and decision-making processes of pharmacists, ultimately influencing the quality of patient care., Methods: PubMed, Embase, and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) databases were searched from January 1, 2000, to October 25, 2022, using search terms related to electronic prescribing, computerised physician order entry, community/retail pharmacies, and pharmacists., Results: A total of 28 studies were included in the systematic review. In these studies, community pharmacists perceived that design, interoperability, attitude towards e-prescribing technology, information quality, workflow, productivity, and accessible resources facilitated e-prescribing. In addition, the included studies emphasized the importance of technological support for the successful implementation of electronic prescribing systems. The system's design characteristics significantly improve e-prescribing technology's favourable effects. According to our review, it has been proposed that a poorly designed e-prescribing system can have a negative impact on the quality of care, implementation, and user satisfaction. In contrast, a well-designed system can significantly contribute to improvements., Conclusions: The review highlighted that e-prescribing has both barriers and facilitators, with the quality of the system and its implementation influencing these factors. Research background: Towards the end of the previous century the issue of management of diversity in organisations gained a prominent place in both academic and societal debates. For any multicultural country, such as the United States or Great Britain, the issue of diversity is not new. However, diversity has not been as frequently researched in the countries of the Visegrad region: the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. Purpose of the article: Using the data about 278 business organizations in Slovakia, we focus on the background of the implementation of diversity management from the point of view of factors having a direct influence on this process. We evaluate the influence of the legal form (as an expression of the number of owners and the ability to quickly adopt a new concept) of the business organisation, the size (number of employees) of the business organisation, the share of the foreign capital in the ownership structure of the organisations, the sector of economy the organization operates in, its performance and the existence of HR unit in the organizational structure. Methods: To evaluate the influence of the selected factors linear modelling was used. Findings & Value added: The study theoretically contributes to human resource management, talent management and organizational behaviour theories, and offers several policy implications for decision makers. Specifically, it deals with the relationship between the implementation of the diversity management selected organizations` characteristics.

Implementation of mindfulness programs in secondary schools has increased dramatically in the past decade. Evaluations of these programs have primarily emphasized outcomes of participation, with less focus on implementation processes. Both are important to establish the initial evidence base and support dissemination and replication. The present study qualitatively explored factors that supported the initial implementation of a mindfulness-based martial arts intervention delivered in a secondary school setting for youth with or at risk for self-regulation challenges. Post-intervention, semi-structured interviews with 24 students (Mage = 14.87 years) and 2 group leaders, and focus groups with 10 teachers were completed to elicit their perceptions of factors that facilitated or hindered the implementation process. Exploratory thematic analysis suggested that factors differed by type of respondent but generally focused on three broad areas: fidelity to program characteristics, program delivery, and communication. Recommendations for secondary school-based implementation teams are discussed, in addition to future directions for mindfulness implementation research in secondary schools. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Green computing is quickly rising to the top of the agenda of many organizations. Surveys of the green computing implementations practices in United Arab Emirates (UAE) reveal the awareness level with respect to green computing practices to be 41.23 per cent. This article presents a model that provides IT decision-makers with a set of recommended actions on the implementation of green computing practices. The model is validated empirically through interviews of IT staff from eleven organizations in UAE. The intervention suggests that to reduce the carbon footprint and to become energy efficient, organizations would need to apply policies on printing, procurement and recycling. Implementation of policies is driven by budget allocations for the better utilization of existing IT equipment and for investment in innovative technologies. In addition, this study recommends that organizations encourage a green computing attitude through increased awareness, certifications, penalties or reward systems. Understanding how integrated care is adopted in different settings may give insights into where, how and why different components of the organisational design work. The aim of this article is to understand how and why integrated care for older people has been implemented in different contexts from the perspective of providers. Theory and methods: The study uses an innovative composite framework for the implementation of integrated care models, which posits that structural, organisational, provider, innovation and patient factors influence implementation along six dimensions of integration. A qualitative multiple case study was done of three cases in Québec using document analysis and semi-structured interviews of 28 providers. Descriptive comparisons and thematic analysis were performed. Results: Providers considered that structural (government policy) and organisational (mergers) factors highly influenced the implementation of organisational and functional dimensions of integration, at the detriment of clinical integration. Provider, innovation and patient factors mildly or moderately influenced the implementation of integration. Conclusion: Structural and organisational factors were necessary conditions for the implementation of administrative components of integration, with great variability in the implementation of some clinical components.

In the field of early intervention, only a few studies of parenting interventions include both participant and facilitator behaviors. Fidelity and supervision (facilitator characteristics) and dosage and satisfaction (participant characteristics) were tested on the outcome of improved parenting style in a sample of 36 parents of young children with disabilities. Results indicated that the facilitator behavior of fidelity was significantly and negatively related to the program outcome of parenting style; no effect was found for the facilitator behavior of supervision. For the participant behaviors, both dosage and satisfaction had non-significant relationships with the program outcome of parenting style at follow-up. The surprising negative relationship between content fidelity and parenting style was discussed.Two possible explanations were: (1) process or quality of intervention delivery is more influential than content fidelity, which considers only adherence to the intervention manual, and (2) the developmental stage of early intervention families calls for more focus on relationships between facilitators and parents and less on content of the specific intervention. Purpose: To evaluate whether implementation factors or fidelity moderate chronic disease self-management education program outcomes.Design: Meta-analysis of 34 Arthritis Self-Management Program and Chronic Disease Self-Management Program studies.Setting: Community.Participants: N = 10 792.Measures: Twelve implementation factors: program delivery fidelity and setting and leader and participant characteristics. Eighteen program outcomes: self-reported health behaviors, physical health status, psychological health status, and health-care utilization.Analysis: Meta-analysis using pooled effect sizes.Results: Modest to moderate statistically significant differences for 4 of 6 implementation factors; these findings were counterintuitive with better outcomes when leaders and participants were unpaid, leaders had less than minimum training, and implementation did not meet fidelity requirements.Conclusion: Exploratory study findings suggest that these interventions tolerate some variability in implementation factors. This structured literature review of 15 studies explores how practitioner and organizational factors relate to fidelity of specific interventions that have been implemented with children, youth, parents, and/or families served by child welfare systems. The methods used in this review align with the PRISMA methodology for search strategy, data collection and management, and synthesis. The majority of studies measured fidelity at the practitioner level, with a smaller set focused on agency or community levels. Findings across studies were inconsistent regarding the relationship between nine practitioner factors and fidelity. However, at the organizational level, higher fidelity was related to supervisory practices and use of continuous quality improvement methods across multiple studies. Further development is needed to more clearly operationalize child welfare interventions and to test alternative methods for measuring fidelity in child welfare systems. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

Six sigma program has received attention in organizations recently due to reported profits obtained after its implementation. However, the implementation factors that guide the six sigma program aren't consensual among researches around the world. In this context, this research aims to identify the factors associated with the six sigma implementation in companies operating in Brazil. Data collection was performed through a questionnaire based on the Six Sigma literature, which was applied to the target population of 483 clients of Six Sigma consulting firms, and 45 of these companies responded. The data were analyzed by exploratory factorial analysis with the objective of finding latent factors that could describe the original individual variables of the questionnaire in a smaller number of concepts. The following factors associated with the implementation of Six Sigma were found: Data availability, prior infrastructure and training, goals and gains, solution implementation, change resistance, involvement of top management and statistical thinking.
