This article reports on a literature review of 32 research articles related to the provision of schooling to students within hospitals. In particular, the research interest was focused on evidence in the literature to describe and characterize the pedagogical practices developed in the educational context of the hospital in terms of their regulation, format, duration, content, and associated benefits. From what is reported in the literature, a certain heterogeneity is observed in pedagogical practices due to specific characteristics, which could be explained by whether it is regulated as a basis. There is no evidence of a specific model of pedagogical practices for the student population educated in the hospital, while it is observed that there are only suggestion for their implementation. Abstract Background Hospitalization of children is a stressful event. However, the child’s education at the time of hospital admission can be effective for the prevention of their anxiety via the use of more attractive methods. The study’s aim was to assess the effectiveness of the education using a digital education package on the level of anxiety of hospitalized children. Methods This is a quasi-experimental study with the randomized block method. The sample size was calculated based on Shahrabadi et al.’s study and sixty eligible hospitalized children were allocated to the two study groups from June 2019 to December 2020, in Hefdah-e-Sahrivar hospital which is the central pediatric hospital in Rasht city. The intervention was education using a digital package that was done 15 min after the hospitalization of the children. Pediatrics’ Spielberger’s anxiety Inventory was used for measuring the participants’ anxiety before and after the intervention. - Abstract
The National Association of Patients with Rare Diseases "I fight for Imuno Brasil" where members recognize themselves as "Imunos", is recognized for the fight for the human rights of patients with immunodeficiencies throughout Brazil. In this research, our objective was to identify the knowledge of members of this group about Hospital Education in the Hospital Class modality. Immunos are chronic patients, who often have repetitions of symptomatological conditions that lead to hospitalization, either due to the characteristics of the disease, sequelae or lack of treatment. To do the research, we used the qualitative methodology. We developed an electronic questionnaire, whose link was made available in the "Imunos" WhatsApp group and was available for three weeks and every seven days on average, a reminder message was sent. 25 members of the whatsapp group participated in the research. All participants had access to the Free and Informed Consent Form at the beginning of the form and only continued with the answers if they agreed to participate in the research freely and deliberately, knowing that they could withdraw at any time. The form had two paths: one for participants who had already become aware of the term "Hospital Education" (Group 1) and another for those who had never become aware of it (Group 2). The answers were analyzed by Content Analysis. We found two categories of participants that were described from Groups 1 and 2. Our analyzes showed that most research participants do not know the term, the right or the Hospital Education modality. The few members who know about Hospital Education, understand it as an inclusive educational proposal, necessary for access by all patients who need it; but also that it needs revision so that it can achieve the objectives of its creation and establishment in Brazil. School-aged youth with behavioral health needs often struggle in the academic environment. When admitted to acute psychiatric hospital settings, the student's difficulties and needs increase upon discharge and return to the school setting. While the literature describes systemic issues in transitioning from an acute psychiatric hospital to the school setting, limited resources exist for practitioners to plan for and support the successful reintegration of affected students. Using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, the purpose of the current systematic review was to collect and synthesize evidence from the literature (N = 20) in the areas of barriers, challenges, and significance of the need for a formal transition planning framework. Four major key factors emerged as important to assist in creating a transition planning framework for acute psychiatric hospitals to school-based settings: (a) Stakeholder Voice (Student, Caregiver, Hospital/Treatment Team, or School Team Voice); (b) Establishing a Point Person for Transition (Medical or School Point Person); (c) Recommendations/Accommodations (Formal or Informal Supports); and (d) Having a Transition Meeting. Other common factors are discussed, and recommendations are provided to aid practitioners in increasing the likelihood that school-age youth succeed in the school environment post-discharge from acute psychiatric settings. Pediatrics' Spielberger's anxiety Inventory was used for measuring the participants' anxiety before and after the intervention. We used Chi square test, Fisher exact test and paired t-test to analyze data. A p-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: In the post-intervention phase, total mean scores of anxiety were significantly lower in the experimental group (60.17 ± 6.46) rather than in the control group (72.6 ± 8.83) (P < 0.001). The mean anxiety scores before and after the intervention were 87.43 ± 11 vs. 60.17 ± 6.46 in the intervention group and 81.5 ± 11 vs. 72.6 ± 8.83 in the control group, respectively. There were significant differences in intergroup anxiety scores between the two study groups (P < 0.001). Conclusions: The current study showed that the Digital Education Package (DEP) is an effective method for reducing children's anxiety during hospitalization. Therefore, we recommended it as a preferred and simple method rather than routine education for pediatric nurses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The delays in the educational process of chronically ill young children and therefore almost all permanent patients in health institutions are a constant concern of families and teachers. In this sense, the essay reflects on the possibility of hospital education from a complementary vision, based on the promotion of health services as well as continuous education for patients and their families. The information was obtained from the experience of the author and a documentary review, which allowed to conclude that the complementarity of the doctor, the teacher and the family is required as forgers of the comprehensive care of the person, to successfully achieve the purposes of this educational action., Es preocupación constante de las familias y de los maestros los retrasos en el proceso educativo de niños y jóvenes enfermos crónicos y, por ende, pacientes casi de forma permanente en instituciones de salud. En tal sentido, el ensayo reflexiona acerca de la posibilidad de la educación hospitalaria desde una visión de complementariedad, basada en la promoción de servicios de salud, así como en la educación continua a los pacientes y su familia. La información se obtuvo de la experiencia de la autora y una revisión documental, que permitió concluir que se requiere la complementariedad del equipo médico, el docente y la familia, como forjadores del cuidado integral de la persona, para lograr con éxitos los propósitos a esta acción educativa.

Enmarcada en el campo de las Ciencias de la Educación esta tesis propone un acercamiento filosófico a la noción de hospitalidad en clave educativa y a los posibles sentidos construidos, otorgados y recreados en torno a ella a partir de un análisis cualitativo de relatos de experiencias docentes en el marco del formato escolar de las Escuelas Hospitalarias de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires y Ciudad de Mendoza. ¿Qué hay de hospitalario en las escuelas hospitalarias? ¿Puede la hospitalidad ser una disposición ética y política que dé cuerpo a las propuestas educativas escolares? In this article, we present theoretical bases and practical orientations, with the objective of contributing to the advancement of professionalisation of Hospital Education. We frame it in a wide concept of Hospital Pedagogy, which areas of action are conceived as a part of an inclusive and high-quality educational system. We analyse the concepts of professionality and the education professionals’ professional development, for its application in the hospital context, as key elements to define its own identity. We define the competencies profile of this profession through the functions and competencies delimitation, giving as an example the development of responsibility competency. This frame can be used as a base for professionals’ training and, at the same time, be a key for the competent exercise of the profession. From this analysis, we emphasise the importance of training from a teaching-learning approach based on professional competencies. Se presentan las bases teóricas y las orientaciones prácticas, con el objetivo de contribuir al avance de la profesionalización en la educación hospitalaria. Se enmarcan en un concepto amplio de pedagogía hospitalaria, cuyos ámbitos de actuación se conciben como parte de un sistema educativo inclusivo de calidad. Se analizan los conceptos de profesionalidad y de desarrollo profesional del docente para su aplicación al contexto hospitalario, como elementos clave en la definición de su identidad propia. Se define el perfil competencial de esta profesión mediante la delimitación de funciones y competencias, aportando a modo de ejemplo el desarrollo de la competencia responsabilidad. Este marco puede servir de base para la formación de profesionales, que a su vez será clave para el desempeño competente de la profesión. Derivado de este análisis, se hace énfasis en la importancia de la formación desde un enfoque de enseñanza y aprendizaje basado en las competencias profesionales. Este artigo tem com o objetivo de contribuir com o avanço da profissionalização na educação em hospitais, segundo o conceito da Pedagogia Hospitalar cujo campo de atuação é concebido como parte de um sistema inclusivo de qualidade. Serão analisados os conceitos de profissionalidade e de desenvolvimento profissional, como elementos fundamentais para definir a identidade própria deste profissional. Define-se o perfil de competências para esta modalidade profissional, mediante a delimitação de funções e competências, tendo como exemplo o desenvolvimento da competência responsabilidade. Esta abordagem pode ser considerada como base para a formação de profissionais que por sua vez serão essenciais para o desempenho competente da profissão. Advinda desta análise, se enfatiza a importância da formação a partir da abordagem de ensino-aprendizagem baseada em competências profissionais.

14. Introducing physical education to hospital learning - can patients participate?

Children and young people with chronic health conditions are at greater risk of school absence and poorer educational achievement than their healthy peers. A range of strategies are implemented in home, school and hospital settings to improve the connection of these children and young people to their educational pathways, yet gaps in provision remain. Physical education (PE), while widely recognised as bringing important educational, social and health benefits to students, is not often included in hospital-based education support. This is due to a range of factors which result from the unique confluence of students with health conditions, use of generalist rather than specialist teachers in hospitals and the physical constraints on learning in the health care setting. Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo compreender o significado da (des)continuidade das atividades escolares na rotina de crianças em idade escolar, considerando o contexto da hospitalização pela voz das mães acompanhantes. Para a construção metodológica desta investigação optamos pela abordagem qualitativa, tendo como estratégia o estudo de caso, processo que percorreu a revisão bibliográfica e o estudo documental. Para a coleta de dados, utilizamos como instrumento a entrevista semiestruturada gravada em áudio, realizada com três mães de crianças internadas no ambiente hospitalar da pesquisa, no período de janeiro a março de dois mil e vinte. O local escolhido para a realização desta investigação foi um hospital público da rede estadual de saúde no município de Porto Nacional – Tocantins, que oferece atendimento a crianças entre zero e onze anos de idade. As informações obtidas foram analisadas e sistematizadas por meio de duas unidades de análise. Os resultados revelam a importância atribuída às experiências estabelecidas durante o convívio social na construção histórica e cultural do indivíduo, e apontam a relevância direcionada à prática escolar na infância. Neste direcionamento, indicam a estadia em ambiente hospitalar como uma condição de restrição em que, diante do descumprimento do direito à educação, há crianças hospitalizadas em idade escolar impedidas de continuar suas atividades escolares. Esta circunstância anuncia inquietações, trazidas pelas mães, que exprimem desafios em torno de incertezas, medos e inseguranças. O rompimento da rotina traz manifestações direcionadas ao desejo de retornar para casa e para a escola. As mães demonstram preocupações em relação ao processo de aprendizagem, o que revela sofrimento diante do distanciamento do ambiente cotidiano em meio ao silêncio refletindo sentimentos de tristeza e angústia ao acompanhar o filho. E ainda revelam preocupações em torno da perda das aulas, ansiedade diante da possibilidade de atraso escolar e a manifestação de importância à continuidade das atividades escolares durante a hospitalização. This research aims to understand the meaning of discontinuity of school activities in the routine of children at school age who are hospitalized, taking into account their accompanying mothers’ voices. In order to achieve the aim, the methodology chosen was qualitative approach and the strategy was case study. The process took place during the time in which bibliographical review and the document study were carried out. In order to collect data, a semi-structured interview was carried out with three mothers of sick children in hospital. The interview was recorded and transcribed from January to March, 2020. The place chosen to carry out the investigation was a public hospital of the state health system in Porto Nacional, in the state of Tocantins, Brazil. The hospital assists children from 0 (zero) to 11 (eleven) years of age. The collected data were analyzed and systematized by means of two analysis units. Outcomes show the importance given to background knowledge acquired in social relationships and its result on social and historical development of the individual. Outcomes also show the relevance given to school during childhood. In spite of children having the right to receive formal education, they are deprived of this right while sick in hospital. As for the mothers, this situation leads to uncertainty, fear, and insecurity. Routine interruption shows mothers’ wish for their children to go back home and to school. They are worried about their children’s learning process interruption and their children’s distance from their daily routine. They are also concerned about their children’s situation because if they miss lots of classes, it may be difficult for them to catch up. Consequently, the mothers defend the continuity of school activities during hospitalization.

With regard to education as a fundamental social right, revealing itself to be right essential to the reduction of social and instrument necessary for the full exercise of citizenship inequalities arises the need for the state to adopt and implement public policies to their adequate supply, quality and for all. In this context, it appears that for many situations the student is away from school children, is due to hospitalization or illness that prevents you from attending the regular education at school, which is why the national scene called 'hospital-based education' appears, currently provided through several resolutions and ordinances of the Ministry of Education, however, still unknown to educators, the population and even the bodies responsible for monitoring public policies, presenting numerous shortcomings and problems that must be addressed for the provision of effective service and quality. Important to keep in mind that the hospital education is revealed, in fact, like a real encouragement to children and youths, allowing them to continue to hope for a life project, being necessary to the effective respect by teachers and educators hospital that can not into second the education process, failing to further exclude the special student. On this track, highlight the prosecutor as an essential institution to whom the Constitution relegates the noble task of defending the inalienable social and individual interests, like body with effective tools for collection of public policies for education, in particular the special hospital. This paper reflects outcomes of research comprising an area or type of education in a way unknown and generating interest today: classrooms and hospital schools. The study of this educational track in Argentina is limited to the specific context of child hospitals. Even though the aim is not idealizing Hospital Education model through the sequence of ideas contained, note that the historical example of survival and development offered by the Argentinian context can lead many contributions and suggestions for improvement in other national contexts that make up this educational track. Therefore, constituting Argentina one of most advanced countries in some dimensions related to educational care in hospitals, we have to present its prism of experience with an emphasis on purposes such as compensating, egalitarian fact and social risk minimization that this educational service for hospitalized children implies. A partir da modalidade panorama do conhecimento, este trabalho teve como objetivo conhecer as tendências temáticas e metodológicas, bem como os principais resultados da pesquisa brasileira no contexto da Educação Hospitalar. Metodologicamente, consiste em uma proposta de natureza exploratória e descritiva por meio de abordagem qualitativa. Os procedimentos metodológicos seguiram o caminho da pesquisa do tipo bibliográfica no contexto da produção do conhecimento cuja técnica de tratamento dos resultados ocorreu por meio da análise de conteúdo. Para tanto, inicialmente foi realizado o levantamento bibliográfico de teses e dissertações defendidas no Brasil, no período de 2008 a 2017, na Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações. Como resultado à composição do corpus bibliográfico, foram selecionadas 79 pesquisas, tendo como conteúdo de análise 14 teses e 65 dissertações. A partir da análise de conteúdo, despontaram a priori 8 subcategorias temáticas e a posteriori emergiram 20 subtemas inferidos no decorrer da exploração e interpretação das teses e dissertações. Os resultados indicaram a disparidade na produção quanto às regiões geográficas onde são desenvolvidas as teses e dissertações, bem como a participação de 28 Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) e 45 programas de pós-graduação, dentre os principais: Educação (73,40%), Saúde (17,72%), outros (8,88%), ocorrendo predominância de 23 IES públicas (82,14%), também responsáveis por 82% do total da produção no período. As principais tendências temáticas do campo de pesquisa foram: Políticas Públicas na Educação Hospitalar; Desenvolvimento Humano, Educação e Humanização em Hospitais; Práticas Pedagógicas e Organização Didático-Curricular; Atendimento Pedagógico Domiciliar; Organização Pedagógica e Funcionamento Administrativo; Tecnologias Digitais da Informação e Comunicação (TICs); Formação de Professores; Relação Educação e Saúde na Hospitalização. Nos aspectos metodológicos, observa-se um padrão predominante de abordagem qualitativa de investigação, com destaque aos aportes metodológicos do estudo de caso, pesquisa de campo e pesquisa-ação. No tocante aos principais resultados para o campo de pesquisa, identifica-se a presença de investigações isoladas e desarticuladas como resultado de iniciativas sem indícios capazes de evidenciar alguma continuidade e ampliação no sentido de tornar esse campo objeto de estudo mais abordado e sistemático nos programas de pós-graduação no país. From the knowledge panorama mode, this assignment aimed to know the thematic and methodological trends, as well as the main results of the Brazilian research in the context of Hospital Education. Methodologically, it consists of an exploratory and descriptive proposal through a qualitative approach. The methodological procedures followed the path of bibliographic research in the context of the production of knowledge whose technique of results‟ treatment occurred through content analysis. To this end, initially a bibliographic survey of theses and dissertations defended in Brazil, from 2008 to 2017, was gathered at the Brazilian Digital Library of Dissertations and Theses. As a result of the bibliographic corpus composition, 79 researches were selected, having 14 theses and 65 dissertations as content of analysis. From the content analysis, emerged 8 a priori thematic subcategories and 20 a posteriori subthemes inferred in the process of exploration and interpretation of theses and dissertations. The results indicated a disparity in production in relation to geographic regions where theses and dissertations are developed, as well as a participation of 28 higher education institutions (IES) and 45 postgraduate programs, the main ones being: Education (73,40 %), Health (17.72%), others (8.88%), with predominantly 23 public HEIs (82.14%), also accounting for 82% of the period‟s total production. The main thematic trends of the research field were: Public Policies in Hospital Education; Human Development, Education and Humanization in Hospitals; Pedagogical Practices and Didactic-Curricular Organization; Home Pedagogical Care; Pedagogical Organization and Administrative Operation; Digital Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs); Teacher Training; Correlation between Education and Health in Hospitalization. In the methodological aspects, it is observed a predominant pattern of qualitative research approach, highlighting the main methodological methods of case study, field research and action research. Regarding the main results for the research field, it is identified a presence of isolated and disjointed investigations as a result of initiatives without evidence capable of demonstrating some continuity and expansion as to make this field an object of study more approached and systematic in postgraduate programs in the country.

The research investigated the pedagogical action by means of planned activities, according to the school curriculum, for the children hospitalized with severe burns, bedridden, to prevent the interruption of their schooling process, interrupted by lengthy hospital stay. We observed a child enrolled in regular elementary school who suffered a serious burn caused by flammable liquid, requiring hospitalization in pediatric burn ward in a hospital in the city of Curitiba, Paraná, over a three-month period. After conducting educational activities planned with this child, at her bedside, we observed that these activities: a) allow the continuation of the schooling process and facilitate school inclusion after discharge from hospital, b) cooperate in coping with hospital stress and in recovering the self- esteem of the child c) require from the teacher a training that allows him/her to work besides the school contents, emotional content brought by the sick child. It also showed the need for the creation, adaptation and computerization of educational resources for the pedagogic approach at the pediatric bed. We considered proposing greater pedagogical investment in mediating school content in pediatric environment in order to promote the production of knowledge parallel to health treatment. We pointed out that the pediatrics is accompanied by an amount of at least two teachers and two psychologists seeking to establish an interdisciplinary job and ensure quality care for the child with special needs during hospitalization period. This article tackles the analysis of one of the educational tracks less studied in the present society, the Hospital Schools and Classrooms, in the South African social context. The research was based on a postdoctoral stay at the University of Cape Town that has allowed, through a personal study, the collection of documents and data related to the topic to be analyzed. According to an evaluative method, the following aspects are described in this article: origin and historical evolution of the sector, organization of the educational service in general and in hospital settings, teacher training, institutional connections, patients’ family care and play therapy in the hospital, El presente artículo se orienta al análisis de uno de los sectores educativos menos estudiados en el mundo actual, las Escuelas y Aulas Hospitalarias, en el contexto social sudafricano. Esta pesquisa pretende analisar o tipo de escolarização proposto em contexto hospitalar, para crianças e adolescentes com hospitalização de longa duração, especialmente devido a patologias oncológicas, de modo a podermos conhecer e perceber a realidade das práticas pedagógicas e das perceções de pais, crianças/adolescentes hospitalizados, professores, educadoras de infância e enfermeiros. Realizámos um plano de investigação qualitativa, um Estudo de Caso, no Hospital IPO do Porto, para descrever e compreender a escolarização num contexto hospitalar específico. A amostra do estudo inclui 4 subgrupos: 30 pais, 24 crianças e adolescentes, 2 enfermeiras, 2 professores e 2 educadoras de infância, num total de 60 participantes. Os dados foram recolhidos no próprio Hospital através de encontros pessoais, explicando-se os objectivos e métodos da investigação aos participantes e solicitando-se a todos o seu Consentimento Informado. Como instrumento privilegiado de recolha de dados, utilizamos ―Questionários/Entrevistas sobre Escolarização e Hospitalização Infanto-Juvenil‖, construídos para o efeito e adaptados a cada um dos quatro subgrupos da amostra para permitir a comparação/triangulação de experiências e perceções relativas ao funcionamento da ―escola‖ hospitalar, incluindo os métodos e interações pedagógicas. Os dados mostram que há alguma colaboração no processo de ensinoaprendizagem entre a escola, os pais e os professores do hospital, garantindo a estabilidade do sucesso académico das crianças e adolescentes hospitalizados, embora se constate alguma desistência da frequência escolar por parte destes alunos. Os pais/tutores têm pouca informação sobre os direitos e benefícios sociais a que podem ter acesso, oferecido pelo Estado Português em situações de escolarização das crianças hospitalizadas. No Hospital IPO do Porto, as crianças e adolescentes podem manter a sua escolarização através de aulas de apoio no Hospital e através de ligações de vídeoconferência com as respetivas escolas. Alguns professores deslocam-se às residências dos alunos, quando estes não podem frequentar a escola. This research is on the schooling‘s types in the context of hospitalization, particularly children and teenagers who are experiencing long term hospitalizations due to oncologic pathologies. We aim to access and understand the reality of pedagogical practices and several different perceptions: parents, hospitalized children and teenagers as well as their teachers, and nurses. We carried out a qualitative research plan, a Case Study, at the IPO Hospital in Porto, to describe and understand schooling in this specific hospital context. The study sample includes 4 subgroups: 30 parents, 24 children and teenagers, 2 nurses, 2 teachers and 2 kindergarten teachers, making a total of 60 participants. The data were collected at the Hospital through personal meetings, in which the main goals and methods of the investigation were explained to the participants and all their Informed Consent was requested. As a privileged instrument of data collection, we used "Questionnaires / Interviews on Schooling and Infant and Juvenile Hospitalization", created for this purpose and adapted to each one of the four subgroups of the sample to allow the comparison and triangulation of experiences and perceptions related to the functioning of the Hospital-School, including methods and pedagogical interactions. The data show that there is some collaboration in the teaching-learning process between the school, the parents and the hospital‘s teachers, guaranteeing the stability of the academic success of hospitalized children and teenagers, although there is a break in of school attendance by these students. The parents / guardians have little information about the social rights and benefits offered by the Portuguese State in schooling situations for hospitalized children. At the IPO Hospital in Porto, children and teenagers can keep their schooling through support classes at the Hospital and through videoconference links with their respective schools. Some teachers go to the students' homes when they cannot attend school.

Based on the assumption that Hospital Care is a modality of teaching that is still little known, and the various problems that are being faced by Brazilian society today, there is a need to analyze the State's duty to provide educational services to children and adolescents who are hospitalized and, as a result, are unable to attend school. Based on this, this study has the objective of analyzing the factors that contribute to the (non) implantation of the Hospital Classes in the HULW, from the speeches of its managers. For this, we use the dialectical paradigm as a method of theoretical-analytical approach, being the exploratory-descriptive research, with a qualitative approach. As for the technical procedures, the research is bibliographical, documentary, field and case study. For the data collection, a semi-structured interview with objective and subjective questions was chosen. The study population consisted of HULW managers. In this sense, the sample was composed following the organization chart of the study hospital, in which four managers of the institution were chosen: a superintendent and three managers linked to the planning unit (a health care manager, a teaching and research manager, and a administrative manager). In the process of data analysis, the profile of the research participants was evaluated and the triggering questions were explored, which were divided into categories, subcategories, frequency and percentage. The data revealed that all managers see the possibility of executing educational practices within the institution, but most of them do not know the concept, the legislation and say that the hospital does not have the financial resources. In the same context, most managers consider that the hospital service performed by the HULW can assist in the educational process of hospitalized children and adolescents, as well as contribute to the process of recovery of the same, however the administrators have not participated, planned or discussed about the subject matter. Given this, we infer that the problems faced by children and adolescents are urgent to be solved and must be solved, thus avoiding the worsening of the situation and the resulting damages. The absence of the hospital class is a fact; therefore, we call attention to the need for a face-to-face discussion that culminates in the implementation / implementation of this strategy. We believe that the political will and the more humane and less assistential views of managers can be consolidated in the implementation of public policies instituted. Nenhuma Partindo do pressuposto que o Atendimento Hospitalar é uma modalidade de ensino ainda pouco conhecida, e dos diversos problemas que vem sendo enfrentados pela sociedade brasileira na atualidade, verifica-se a necessidade em analisar o dever do Estado em prestar serviços educacionais às crianças e adolescentes que se encontram hospitalizados e, em razão disso, estejam impossibilitados de frequentar a escola. Baseado nisso, esse estudo tem o objetivo de analisar os fatores que contribuem para a (não) implantação das Classes Hospitalares no HULW, a partir dos discursos de seus gestores. Para tanto, utilizamos o paradigma dialético como método de abordagem teórico-analítico, sendo a pesquisa realizada do tipo exploratóriadescritiva, com enfoque qualitativo. Quanto aos procedimentos técnicos, a pesquisa é bibliográfica, documental, de campo e estudo de caso. Para a coleta de dados, foi escolhida a entrevista semiestruturada com perguntas objetivas e subjetivas. A população do estudo foi constituída por gestores do HULW. Neste sentido, a amostra foi composta seguindo o organograma do hospital do estudo, no qual foram escolhidos quatro gestores da instituição: um superintendente e três gerentes ligados à unidade de planejamento (um gerente de atenção à saúde, um gerente de ensino e pesquisa e um gerente administrativo). No processo de análise dos dados, foi avaliado o perfil dos participantes da pesquisa e logo após foram exploradas as questões disparadoras, sendo divididas em categorias, subcategorias, frequência e percentual. Diante disso, os dados revelaram que todos os gestores vislumbram a possiblidade da execução de práticas educacionais dentro do instituição, porém em sua maioria desconhecem o conceito, a legislação e afirmam que o hospital não tem recursos financeiros. No mesmo contexto, a maioria dos gestores consideram que o serviço hospitalar executado pelo HULW poderá auxiliar no processo educacional das crianças e adolescentes internados, assim como contribuir no processo de recuperação das mesmas, no entanto os administradores não tem participado, planejado ou discutido sobre o assunto. Diante disso, inferimos que os problemas enfrentados por crianças e adolescentes têm urgência em serem resolvidos, devendo ser solucionados, evitando assim o agravamento da situação e os prejuízos decorrentes. A inexistência da classe hospitalar é fato; portanto, chamamos atenção para a necessidade de uma discussão presencial que culmine na efetivação/implantação dessa estratégia. Acreditamos que a vontade política e os olhares mais humanos e menos assistencialistas dos gestores poderão se consolidar na implementação das políticas públicas instituídas.

Considerando que a educação é um direito inalienável e a não oferta desse direito se caracteriza em exclusão, propostas educativas que não contemplam o ser humano como um ser integral, levando em conta que este é um ser único, que não se repete, constituído de várias dimensões, e estas devem ser atendidas e supridas em sua totalidade, dando sentido para a existência/ação, propiciam a perpetuação do abismo que se formou ao longo da história, em especial, com relação à pessoa doente. Contudo, propostas que visam uma sociedade inclusiva surgem como um contraponto ao descaso com o outro e não envidam esforços para a consecução de um projeto social no qual todos tenham direito e oportunidades iguais para que, independentemente de suas diferenças, possam participar de fato da sociedade em que estão inseridos. No entanto, crianças e adolescentes, quando hospitalizados, além de sofrerem pelo episódio da doença, sofrem por terem suas rotinas totalmente modificadas, em especial quando em idade escolar, pois este público-alvo ainda não conseguiu ter o seu direito à educação em âmbito hospitalar assegurado de fato, apesar de contar com o aparato legal. Nesse sentido, esta pesquisa de viés qualitativo utilizou-se do aparato da pesquisa bibliográfica e documental aliado à pesquisa exploratória descritiva para analisar a realidade existente com relaçao à problemática que envolve a criança e/ou adolescente hospitalizado, a legislação existente e apresentar possibilidades para minimizar o sofrimento que a situação da doença impõe a esse contingente de pessoas. Para isso, tornou-se relevante um estudo nas bases da educação não formal com vistas a suprir as lacunas deixadas pelo Estado, para posteriormente identificar formas para a utilização das TDIC na mediação pedagógica em ambiente hospitalar, pois elas podem tornar o processo educativo em âmbito hospitalar mais dinâmico e atraente, uma vez que temos a possibilidade de oferecer às crianças e adolescentes hospitalizados propostas de trabalhos autorais, nos quais estes terão a oportunidade de criar, modelar, remixar, alimentar, compartilhar etc. Os dados foram analisados a partir de dois indicadores: Educação Hospitalar que temos: contextualização do conceito e necessidade de regulamentação; e A Educação Hospitalar que queremos: possibilidade do uso de tecnologias digitais para uma educação não formal no contexto do Hospital. Como resultado, detectou-se que a Educação Hospitalar no Brasil não está universalizada, apesar de contar com aparato legal para tanto. Quando é ofertada, ela apresenta caráter selecionador e excludente e, em muitos casos, o rito da escola é transposto ao hospital, o que inviabiliza um projeto de Educação que prima pelo respeito ao outro. Assim, conclui-se que existe necessidade premente de uma luta pela universalização da Educação Hospitalar que tenha como princípio o respeito às diferenças, a solidariedade e que seus processos de aprendizagem reconheçam o outro como um “Tu” inédito. The master’s degree research here presented has been developed in the scope of the post degree program in education (PPGE), from the College of science and technology (FCT – UNESP), and is in the “Formative process, education and learning” research line. Considering that education is an unalienable right and not offering it characterize the exclusion, educative proposals that don’t contemplate the human being as a whole, considering that He is unique, don’t repeat, constituted of many dimensions, and those should be attended and supplied completely, giving sense to the existence/action, propitiate the perpetuation of the abysm that has been made during history, specially, related to the sick patients. However, proposals that seek an inclusive society arise as a counterpoint to the contempt with the others and don’t show efforts to a consecution of a social project where everybody have equal opportunities to have the right and opportunity don’t matter the differences to participate in fact in the society that they are included. However, kids and teenagers when hospitalized, suffer with de disease and with the fact that their routines is modified, especially in the scholar ages, because this target public cannot have the right for education in the hospital environment which is assured by the law. In this way, this research with qualitative bias used the bibliographic and documentary research allied with an exploratory descriptive research to analyse the reality related to the problematic which involve the kid and/or teenager hospitalized, the existing law and show the possibility to minimize the suffering that the illness forces to this contingent of people. For that, it’s relevant a study based in a non-formal education showing that this one can supply the gaps left by the state, to further identify way to use the TDIC to pedagogically intermediate in a more dynamic and attractive hospital environment, once we have the possibility to offer to the kids and teenagers hospitalized, proposals for authorship works, where they will have the opportunity to create, shape, remix, feed, share, etc. The data was analyzed based on two indicators: Hospital Education that we have: contextualization of the concept and need of regulation; and, The Hospital Education we want: the possibility of using digital technologies for a non-formal education in the context of the Hospital. As a result, it was detected that Hospital Education in Brazil is not universalized, despite having a legal apparatus for it. When it is offered, it has selective and exclusive character, and in many cases, the rite of the school is transposed to the hospital, which makes an Education project that offers respect for the others impossible to happen. Thus, it is concluded that there is a pressing need for a struggle for the universalization of Hospital Education based on respect for differences, solidarity and that their learning processes recognize the other as an unprecedented subject.

26. The role of pedagogy into hospital education in South Africa: an institutional and curricular study

This article tackles the analysis of one of the educational tracks less studied in the present society, the Hospital Schools and Classrooms, in the South African social context. The research was based on a postdoctoral stay at the University of Cape Town that has allowed, through a personal study, the collection of documents and data related to the topic to be analyzed. According to an evaluative method, the following aspects are described in this article: origin and historical evolution of the sector, organization of the educational service in general and in hospital settings, teacher training, institutional connections, patients’ family care and play therapy in the hospital., El presente artículo se orienta al análisis de uno de los sectores educativos menos estudiados en el mundo actual, las Escuelas y Aulas Hospitalarias, en el contexto social sudafricano. La investigación ha partido de una estancia postdoctoral en la Universidad de Ciudad del Cabo que ha permitido, a través de un estudio personal, la recolección de documentos y datos relacionados con el tema a abordar. De acuerdo con un método evaluativo, se describen en este artículo los siguientes aspectos: origen y evolución histórica del sector, organización del servicio educativo en general y en ámbitos hospitalarios, formación del profesorado, conexiones institucionales, atención a las familias de los pacientes y terapia de juego en el hospital.

La socio-matemática ha sido empleada en el Aula Regular como un componente de negociación de normas y formas de resolver situaciones matemáticas, además de potencializar valores como la autonomía, la solidaridad, la integración y la socialización. Esta propuesta busca incorporarla como una metodología para describir las posibles estrategias de enseñanza y aprendizaje, facilitando co-construir y ajustar los mínimos comunes de aprendizaje en matemáticas de la mano con los educandos. Las Aulas Hospitalarias son un programa educativo que enseña a los pacientes pediátricos, llamados así en el sector salud, para efectos de este trabajo serán nombrados como Educandos Hospitalarios, quienes en su mayoría requieren largas estancias para el tratamiento de su situación de salud. Este tipo de aula, al igual que el Aula Regular, desarrolla procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje establecidos por normas e interacciones sociales. Sin embargo, el contexto hospitalario se requiere de nuevas estrategias de aprendizaje, basadas en los intereses y motivaciones de educandos en situaciones de enfermedad adversas y sus formas de resolver situaciones matemáticas, promoviendo la autonomía, la solidaridad, la integración y la socialización; estos últimos amenazados en una situación de hospitalización. Este proceso investigativo se implementó en el aula hospitalaria de la Clínica Infantil Colsubsidio, mediante las conversaciones cordiales, el diagnóstico pedagógico y las intervenciones pedagógicas y los resultados se enmarcan en las motivaciones y los aprendizajes identificados. Abstract: The socio-mathematics has been used in the Regular Classroom as a component of negotiation of norms and ways of solving mathematical situations, in addition to enhancing values such as autonomy, solidarity, integration and socialization. This proposal seeks to incorporate it as a methodology to describe possible teaching and learning strategies, facilitating co-building and adjusting common minimum learning in math on the hand with learners. The Hospital Classrooms are an educational program that teaches pediatric patients, so called in the health sector, for the purposes of this work will be named as hospital educators, who mostly require long stays to treat their health situation. This type of classroom, like the Regular Classroom, develops teaching and learning processes established by norms and social interactions. However, the hospital context requires new learning strategies, based on the interests and motivations of learners in adverse disease situations and their ways of solving mathematical situations, promoting autonomy, solidarity, integration and socialization; The latter threatened in a situation of hospitalization. This investigative process was implemented in the hospital classroom of the Children's Clinic Colsubsidio, through cordial conversations, pedagogical diagnosis and pedagogical interventions and the results are framed in the motivations and identified learning. O presente estudo e resultado de pesquisa teorica que se propoe a discutir o hospital e a escola como espacos de desenvolvimento da infância acometida pelo câncer. Na abordagem do tema, sao explorados as construcoes historicas da saude e da doenca e o desenvolvimento de criancas que necessitam de internacoes recorrentes, vivenciando os protocolos hospitalares e a sistematizacao escolar. De abordagem qualitativa, os procedimentos utilizados para o estudo compreenderam a pesquisa bibliografica e documental, com o intuito de incorporar proposicoes do contexto historico e cultural sobre os processos humanos, em especial os mais vinculados ao desenvolvimento infantil. Os resultados questionam o dialogo das instituicoes responsaveis pela crianca em tratamento hospitalar e indicam a precariedade dessa relacao, ao produzir uma educacao marcada por impossibilidades, em que barreiras fisicas e sociais se escondem sob a mascara da doenca e fazem surgir na crianca o gosto amargo do insucesso.Palavras-chave: Educacao hospitalar. Desenvolvimento infantilAbstractThis article presents the results of a study that explored theliterature on hospital and school as spaces for the developmentof the children affected by cancer. 30. La educación hospitalaria en Argentina: entre la supervivencia y compromiso social
- Abstract
This paper reflects outcomes of research comprising an area or type of education in a way unknown and generating interest today: classrooms and hospital schools. The study of this educational track in Argentina is limited to the specific context of child hospitals. Even though the aim is not idealizing Hospital Education model through the sequence of ideas contained, note that the historical example of survival and development offered by the Argentinian context can lead many contributions and suggestions for improvement in other national contexts that make up this educational track. Therefore, constituting Argentina one of most advanced countries in some dimensions related to educational care in hospitals, we have to present its prism of experience with an emphasis on purposes such as compensating, egalitarian fact and social risk minimization that this educational service for hospitalized children implies., Este artículo refleja resultados de una investigación que comprende un ámbito o modalidad educativa en cierta forma desconocido y de gran interés en la actualidad: las aulas y escuelas hospitalarias. El estudio de este sector educativo en Argentina está circunscrito al específico contexto de los hospitales pediátricos. Si bien no se pretende idealizar un modelo de Educación Hospitalaria, cabe destacar que el ejemplo histórico de supervivencia y desarrollo que nos ofrece el contexto argentino puede conllevar numerosas aportaciones y sugerencias de mejora en otros contextos nacionales que conforman esta modalidad educativa. Por lo tanto, constituyendo Argentina uno de los países más avanzados en algunas de las dimensiones de la atención educativa en hospitales, nos disponemos a presentar su prisma de experiencias con un énfasis en la finalidad compensatoria, igualitaria y de minimización de riesgos sociales que este servicio educativo supone para la infancia.

31. La educación secundaria en la modalidad de la educación hospitalaria: España y Argentina
- Abstract
In this paper, we show outcomes from a research taking one of the largest educational tracks recently integrated: hospital schools and classrooms. Through this analysis, we propose discussions on the acquisition and maintenance of rights for secondary education services in this track in countries with different standards of economic development, such as Spain and Argentina. This work develops an introduction of the subject, its regulation in each national paradigm as well as certain aspects existing in educational projects. Attention to high school students at hospital education means different conditions in various countries. Though in nations previously mentioned the existence of rights to education of this type have been guaranteed, we can stress a reality of divergent factors just like: a wide range of educational levels, the training required for hospital teachers, the type of hospital schools where teaching takes place in secondary education, the legal requirements governing duties of teachers and the administrative dependence or coordination of these professionals that ensued from services in all countries selected and included., En este trabajo, se presentan resultados de una investigación que toma a una de las modalidades educativas de mayor consideración reciente: las escuelas y las aulas hospitalarias. A través de este análisis, se pretende plantear debates en relación con la adquisición y mantenimiento de derechos para el funcionamiento de servicios de educación secundaria en esta modalidad en países con diferente nivel de desarrollo socioeconómico, tales como España y Argentina. En esta presentación se desarrolla una exposición del tema, de su regulación en cada caso nacional estudiado así como de ciertos aspectos presentes en los proyectos pedagógicos. La atención a alumnos de educación secundaria en las escuelas hospitalarias reviste condiciones diferentes en diversos países. Si bien en las naciones mencionadas se ha garantizado la existencia del derecho a una educación de este tipo, se han puesto de relieve factores divergentes como la variedad de niveles atendidos, la formación requerida para el profesorado, el tipo de escuelas hospitalarias en que la enseñanza en educación secundaria tiene lugar, los imperativos legales que rigen las obligaciones de los docentes y la dependencia administrativa o coordinación de estos maestros en los diversos países analizados.
