A styrene-butadiene-styrene triblock copolymer (SBS) was grafted with an unsaturated polar monomer (monomer A) composed of maleic anhydride (MAH) and methoxy polyethylene (MPEG) via a ring-opening reaction after epoxidizing styrene-butadiene-styrene triblock copolymer (ESBS). The microscopic changes of SBS before and after grafting has been characterized with Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FT-IR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The results revealed that the monomer A was successfully grafted on SBS backbone, and the maximum graft ratio (GR) was 20.32%. To verify the compatibility between SBS and asphalt, solubility parameters and surface free energy (SFE) of SBS, grafted SBS and asphalt were measured. It was found that the solubility parameter and SFE of grafted SBS were closer to asphalt compared with SBS. It also has been confirmed from storage stability that the temperature susceptibility of grafted SBS modified asphalt was reduced in compare with SBS modified asphalt binder. As consequence, the use of grafted copolymer can be considered a suitable alternative for modification of asphalt binder in pavement.

For comprehensive assessment issue of the impact on power quality by disturbance load with multiple indices, a comprehensive assessment way was proposed basing on combination weighting of moment estimation and ambiguous evaluation. It is capable of covering the shortage of subjective and objective weighting method, improving the reasonability of index weights, so as to assess the impact on power quality by disturbance load in a more comprehensive and evener way. Combining with the measured data in practice from some typical user from Shanghai, to weigh the indices, we adopted three subjective weighting methods including extended scaling, mandatory marking and expert consulting, along with two objective ones with entropy weight and variation coefficient. After that, the combined weights of each assessment index were determined in the way of combination weighting of moment estimation. At last, the severity of impact on power quality by the load was worked out with the usage of ambiguous evaluation theory, and the effectivity of our method were validated through the comparison of the actual situation.

A series of cobalt–lanthanide metallacrowns (MCs) {CoIII4Ln8} (Ln = Dy3+1, Ho3+2 and Tm3+3) based on pyrazinehydroxamic acid (H2pyzha) and pyrazinic acid (Hpyzic) ligands have been synthesized. These isomorphous 3d–4f MCs contain two novel [12-MC-4] with –[Co–N–O–Ln]– connectivity to capture one Ln3+ ion in the core of each MC. Two [12-MC-4] units are connected with the central Ln3+ ions forming a butterfly-shaped structure. The existence of this structure leads to a new coordination mode of H2pyzha which has never previously been reported. The magnetic properties of these MCs have been studied and the {CoIII4Dy8} (1) was found to exhibit the single-molecule magnet (SMM) behavior.

Background: Intravenous (IV) oxycodone has been used at induction to prevent an intubation reaction. The aims of the current study were to calculate the median effective dose (ED50) and the 95% effective dose (ED95) of an IV bolus of oxycodone that blunts the hemodynamic response to tracheal intubation with propofol according to gender and to observe the adverse events of induction-dose oxycodone. Methods: Adult patients who required general anesthesia and tracheal intubation were enrolled. Tracheal intubation was performed using unified TD-C-IV video laryngoscopy and an ordinary common endotracheal tube. Dixon’s up-and-down method was used to obtain ED50 data for women and men separately. The initial dose of oxycodone was 0.2 mg/kg for women and 0.3 mg/kg for men (step size was 0.01 mg/kg). Next, a dose-response curve from the probit analysis was generated to determine the ED50 and ED95 to blunt the intubation reaction in female and male patients. Adverse events following oxycodone injection were observed for 5 min before propofol injection. Results: Sixty-three patients were analyzed, including 29 females and 34 males. According to the probit analysis, the ED50 and ED95 of oxycodone required to blunt the intubation reaction in women were 0.254 mg/kg (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.220–0.328 mg/kg) and 0.357 mg/kg (95% CI, 0.297–2.563 mg/kg), respectively. In men, the ED50 and ED95 were 0.324 mg/kg (95% CI, 0.274–0.381 mg/kg) and 0.454 mg/kg (95% CI, 0.384–2.862 mg/kg), respectively. Men required 28% more oxycodone than women for induction (P < 0.01). The most common adverse events were dizziness (87.3%), vertigo (66.7%), sedation (74.6%), and respiratory depression (66.7%). Conclusions: Oxycodone can be used for induction to prevent intubation reactions. Gender affected the ED50 and ED95 of oxycodone for blunting the tracheal intubation reaction. Purpose There is currently no standard treatment strategy for patients with advanced metastatic gastric cancer experiencing progression after two or more lines of chemotherapy. We assessed the efficacy and safety of apatinib, a novel vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 tyrosine kinase inhibitor, in patients with advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma for whom at least two lines of prior chemotherapy had failed. Patients and Methods This was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase III trial. Patients from 32 centers in China with advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma, for whom two or more prior lines of chemotherapy had failed, were enrolled. Patients were randomly assigned to oral apatinib 850 mg or placebo once daily. The primary end points were overall (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS). Results Between January 2011 and November 2012, 267 patients were enrolled. Median OS was significantly improved in the apatinib group compared with the placebo group (6.5 months; 95% CI, 4.8 to 7.6 v 4.7 months; 95% CI, 3.6 to 5.4; P = .0149; hazard ratio, 0.709; 95% CI, 0.537 to 0.937; P = .0156). Similarly, apatinib significantly prolonged median PFS compared with placebo (2.6 months; 95% CI, 2.0 to 2.9 v 1.8 months; 95% CI, 1.4 to 1.9; P < .001; hazard ratio, 0.444; 95% CI, 0.331 to 0.595; P < .001). The most common grade 3 to 4 nonhematologic adverse events were hand-foot syndrome, proteinuria, and hypertension. Conclusion These data show that apatinib treatment significantly improved OS and PFS with an acceptable safety profile in patients with advanced gastric cancer refractory to two or more lines of prior chemotherapy.

Objectives This study presented the feasibility of oxycodone as the sole opioid for general anaesthesia in minor/moderate surgery. Methods In this prospective, observational, descriptive study, 62 patients were enrolled and received intravenous oxycodone as the sole opioid for the induction and maintenance of general anaesthesia. We observed all of these patients to determine whether oxycodone alone could provide sufficient intraoperative and postoperative analgesia, as well as to record the extubation times and adverse events. Results A total oxycodone dose of 0.316 ± 0.05 mg/kg was used for induction and maintenance of general anaesthesia. The dose could maintain haemodynamic stability during surgery and good postoperative analgesia. Oxycodone caused deep sedation (nine patients had Ramsey sedation scores ≥4), leading to respiratory depression and long stays in the post-anaesthesia care unit (PACU). The extubation time (16.9 ± 6.4 minutes) increased with increasing oxycodone doses. Conclusion Oxycodone can be used as the sole opioid for general anaesthesia in minor/moderate surgery. Glycogen phosphorylase (GP) acts in the first step in release of glucose from glycogen, a form of energy storage for most organisms. To investigate the characteristics and expression pattern of GP gene (Ofgp) in the Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee), larvae, we cloned and analyzed tissue transcription of Ofgp. The results indicate that the open reading frame (ORF) is 2,526 bp, encoding 841 amino acid. The calculated three-dimensional structure shows 33 α-helices and 24 β-sheets. Ofgp transcription levels varied significantly during the second to fifth instars under long-day (28 °C, 16:8 L:D photoperiod, and 70-80% relative humidity (RH)) and short-day (24.5 °C, 11:13 L:D photoperiod, and 70-80% RH) conditions, remained low during the prediapause phase, and then increased after about 36 d under short-day photoperiod. In the larvae reared under long-day condition, hemolymph ranked the highest in the transcript level of Ofgp. The highest transcription was recorded in the fat body and was lower in the other tissues in larvae reared under short-day condition. We found that Ofgp transcription increased linearly from October 2012 to January 2013. The transcript level was negatively correlated with environmental temperature. We infer the higher Ofgp transcription may enhance the cold hardiness of the diapause larvae.

Anesthesiologists work to prevent or minimize secondary injury of the nervous system and improve the outcome of medical procedures. To this end, anesthesiologists must have a thorough understanding of pathophysiology and optimize their skills and equipment to make an anesthesia plan. Anesthesiologists should conduct careful physical examinations of patients and consider neuroprotection at preoperative interviews, consider cervical spinal cord movement and compression during airway management, and suggest awake fiberoptic bronchoscope intubation for stable patients and direct laryngoscopy with manual in-line immobilization in emergency situations. During induction, anesthesiologists should avoid hypotension and depolarizing muscle relaxants. Mean artery pressure should be maintained within 85–90 mmHg (1 mmHg = 0.133 kPa; vasoactive drug selection and fluid management). Normal arterial carbon dioxide pressure and normal blood glucose levels should be maintained. Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring is a useful option. Anesthesiologists should be attentive to postoperative respiratory insufficiency (carefully considering postoperative extubation), thrombus, and infection. In conclusion, anesthesiologists should carefully plan the treatment of patients with acute cervical spinal cord injuries to protect the nervous system and improve patient outcome.

Aiming at the absolute photoelectric encoder used in the stable platform, a FPGA-based scheme which can read encoder data and measure velocity is proposed. The scheme uses the nonlinear tracking differentiator theory to design the speed measurement of the stable platform, which can avoid the error amplification caused by the conventional differential speed measurement. And this solution can implement in engineering easily because it does not require additional hardware circuitry. Numerical simulation analysis and experimental results show that the scheme can accurately read the encoder signal and estimate the encoder’s angular rate based on the position signal. The experiment proves that the method is accurate and effective.

Super-resolution image restoration technique can certainly increase the resolution of the obtained images without altering the system hardware conditions, which has become a research hotspot in the fields of remote sensing, military surveillance, public safety and medical imaging. The spatial domain algorithm has been studied widely and deeply, but it still has shortcomings and limitations. This paper studies the image degradation mechanism, establishes a precise image degradation process model, proposes an improved hybrid MAP-POCS restoration algorithm with using the Huber-Markov random field model as the priori probability model, which adds the convex sets constraints to the MAP estimation process and uses the peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) to evaluate the recovery image quality. The simulation results show that the improved hybrid algorithm combines the only solution solving feature and noise reduction ability of the MAP method and strong prior knowledge utilized feature and flexibility of the POCS method, effectively ensures the convergence stability of the restoration and maintains the edge details of the restored image, enhances the effect of the super-resolution restoration.

Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee), is a key corn pest in the Asian-Western Pacific countries. It overwinters as full-grown larvae in plant stalks or in a spun-silk covering located in the plant debris in the temperate regions of China. Supercooling point (SCP) and survival rate after low sub-zero temperature treatment were assessed for field-collected populations in the laboratory using a cool bath with a 1°C/min cooling rate until -40°C. Mean SCPs were varied among geographical populations, with a significant decline from -22.7°C of Haikou, the multivoltine tropical population in the south, to -28.5°C of Gongzhuling, the univoltine temperate population in the northeast of China. In addition, there was more than 1°C difference in SCP between Gongzhuling univoltine and bivoltine populations that were from the same geographic origin. Mean SCPs of the Guangzhou population fluctuated over the year, with significantly lower SCPs in winter than in other seasons, which correlated with a significantly higher proportion of diapausing larvae in winter than in other seasons. Over 41% of overwintering larvae from the northeast population could withstand to be supercooled for a few minutes to the low sub-zero temperature of -40°C, but only 6.7% of their southern counterparts did so. The findings from this study suggest that O. furnacalis mostly takes advantage of freeze avoidance as diapausing larvae for overwintering in the southern region, whereas it exhibits freeze tolerance in diapause in the northeastern region.

Reaction of copper(II) triflate, terbium(III) triflate (5/1 equiv.) with pyrazinehydroxamic acid (H2pyzha) in MeOH solution led to a new heterobimetallic 15-metallacrown-5 complex. In solid state the structure of this complex has been confirmed by X-ray analysis: metallacrown [Tb(H2O)3{Cu(pyzha)}5(H2O)3] (TfO)2·3(H2O)·(MeOH) (TfO = trifluomethanesulfonate). Analysis of the magnetic properties of this complex reveals that in zero dc field it exhibits frequency-dependent out-of-phase signal confirms that it exhibits single-molecule magnet (SMM) behavior.

A series of novel dispirooxindole derivatives, 3-acetyl-5-phenyl-pyrrolo(spiro-[2.3']-1'-benzyl-oxindole)-spiro-[4.3"]-1"-benzyl-oxindoles, were synthesized via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of the azomethine ylide with 3-acetonylideneoxindole in high regioselectivities and yields. An unusual regioselectivity was observed in this 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition, leading to the construction of novel dispirooxindole skeleton. The substituent effects on the regioselectivity were also investigated.

A anti debris lash structural competition model of pillar supported house was introduced. Frame structure was adopted in the model and energy conversion beams were built in the hollow floor beams. The upper face of the energy conversion beam was inclined at the support position of the upper column. The energy conversion beam can raise the upper structure when horizontal displacement was produced after collision. Construction details of the model was introduced, structure mechanics analysis and simplified calculation was conducted. By installation of energy conversion beam, the horizontal impact kinetic energy was transformed into the potential energy needed by the rise of upper sub-structure. Experimental result shows the anti impact performance of the structural model is good.

Image classification is a fundamental problem in computer vision and pattern recognition. Feature extraction is often regarded as the key for classifying images. Traditional ways rely on handcrafted features heavily, such as SIFT and BoW. In this paper, we concentrate on recognizing some specific categories of images (e.g. adult content and political images) in Email. And most importantly we propose a novel architecture of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to apply on image classification. In particular, most of the previous methods often use softmax activation for prediction, while instead of utilizing a softmax layer, we present a linear support vector machine (SVM) to be a part of the learning model, minimizing a margin-based loss to obtain a lower level feature representation. Accordingly, we propose a new dataset which contains 7 categories and over 52934 images totally. Experimental results on this novel dataset validate the effectiveness of our method.

ing underwater target azimuth tendency feature is a common method to identify underwater target dimension. The cross-spectrum method of splitting beam is often used to abstracting underwater target azimuth tendency feature. But when the SNR is very low, this method is inefficient. In this thesis, an improved algorithm is presented to abstract underwater target azimuth tendency feature which can be used in the low SNR. In the algorithm, the underwater target highlight structure feature is used, and by least square fitting twice the underwater target azimuth tendency feature will be finally obtained. The simulation experiment results show that the proposed algorithm can be used to abstract underwater target azimuth tendency feature even when the SNR is very low. The improved algorithm has made an important foundation for further studying the feature detection and recognition of an underwater target dimension.

Taking a way of continuous flow, ordinary fluidized bed continuous flow approach measured the amount of fluoride crystals and the treatment effect. Using intermittent operation, bubbling fluidized bed measured the amount of fluoride crystal and the treatment effect. The results show that: ordinary fluidized bed treatment effect worse than the bubbling fluidized bed. Bubbling fluidized bed in a short time large amount of fluoride crystals, can be a lot of fluoride to fluoride content of waste water treatment 10mg / L or less. The technical processing speed, good effect, the reaction vessel is small, simple device, easy to control, with good prospects for practical application.

Tin bronze wires were produced by dieless drawing. The effects of heating power, the distance between cooler and heater as well as feeding speed on the diameter, the temperature field, and the deformation region profile of the wires were investigated. The results indicated that each processing parameter exhibited both lower and upper limits of stable deformation based on the criterion of stable deformation with the diameter fluctuation of ±0.05 mm. Both the temperature and its gradient of the deformation region increased with increasing heating power under stable deformation, but decreased with an increase in feeding speed. As the distance between cooler and heater increased, the temperature of the deformation region increased and the slope of the deformation region profile decreased. The processing limit map of stable deformation exhibited a closed curve and the unstable deformation consisted of wire breakage and diameter fluctuations.

With the distance between sonar system and target enlarging, the underwater target transits from near field to far field. Based on planar element scattering similarity, a novel algorithm is presented in this paper. In this thesis, an underwater target model is set up and meshed with triangular planar element by using the software of Ansys. Due to the sonar system is in far field to every planar element, the matrixes whose elements are the planar elements target strength can be calculated. In the course of an underwater target transits from near field to far field, the matrix whose elements are the planar elements target strength is becoming more and more similar to that in far field. Thus the correlation coefficient between the above two matrixes can be used to analyze the transition of an underwater target. Numerical calculation are presented, and the results show that the underwater target scattering characteristics in critical distance approximate the characteristics in far field, but the target strength which is calculated in critical distance is also should be modified little.

The separation of diffuse and specular reflection components, or equivalently specularity removal, is required in the fields of computer vision, object recognition and image synthesis. This paper proposes a simple and effective method to separate reflections in a color image based on the error analysis of chromaticity and appropriate selection of body color for each pixel. By solving the least-squares problem of the dichromatic reflection model, reflection separation is implemented on a single pixel level, without requiring image segmentation and even local interactions between neighboring pixels. Experimental evaluation indicates that the proposed method is effective and can deal with a wide variety of images.

The hot deformation behavior of a KFC copper alloy was studied by compression deformation tests on Gleeble 1500 machine at strain rates ranging between 0.01–10 s−1 and deformation temperature of 650–850 °C, and associated structural changes were studied by observations of metallography and TEM. The results show that the true stress-true strain curves for a KFC copper alloy are characterized by multiple peaks or a single peak flow, and tend to a steady state at high strains. The peak stress can be represented by a Zener-Hollomon parameter in the hyperbolic-sine-type equation with the hot deformation activation energy Q of 289 kJ/mol. The dynamic recrystallization(DRX) occurs by bulging out of part serrated grain-boundary, and the dynamic recrystallization grain size is dependent sensitively on deformation temperature T and strain rate ɛ ˙ , also a function of Z. The dynamic spherical Fe-rich precipitates and successive dynamic particles coarsening has been assumed to be responsible for flow softening at high strains, and this is more effective when samples deformed at low temperatures and higher strain rates.

Carbohydrate antigen 15-3 (CA15-3) is frequently measured as a breast cancer marker test. Here we describe a novel type of optical biosensor system, the optical protein chip (OPC), to detect CA15-3 in serum. The complex formed by interaction between an antibody molecule and its corresponding antigen can be detected on a silicon substrate by an optical sensor, as described in previous reports (1)(2). For processing and modification of the silicon substrate surface, silicon wafers were cut into ∼2 × 0.7 cm rectangles and made hydrophilic by immersion in an acidic peroxide solution (300 mL/L H2O2–980 mL/L H2SO4; 1:3 by volume) and light shaking in a shaker for 30 min. The solution not only removed contaminants from the silicon surface but also increased the number of silanol groups on the surface. The hydrophilic surfaces were rinsed in distilled water 3 times and in absolute ethanol 3 times, then incubated in a mixture of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane and ethanol (1:15 by volume) and shaken lightly in a shaker for 2 h. The liquid was then removed, and the silicon wafers were rinsed in absolute ethanol 3 times and in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) buffer 3 times. The wafers were then placed in a mixture of glutaraldehyde and PBS (1:10 by volume), shaken lightly in a shaker for 1 h, and finally, washed in PBS buffer 3 times and left in a beaker with PBS buffer until use. Through the reaction of glutaraldehyde with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, Fc regions of the antibody molecules were covalently immobilized on the chip surfaces. To explore the prognostic factors in patients with gastric cancer (GC) or adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEG) combined with malignant pleural and/or abdominal effusion.Clinicopathological data of 111 GC or AEG patients with malignant pleural and/or abdominal effusion treated in our hospital from January 2001 to December 2010 were retrospectively analyzed.The median survival time for the whole group of 111 patients was 6 months. Effusion disappeared in 12 patients, was reduced in 36 cases, with no changes in 15 cases, and increased in 48 patients. The effusion control rate was 56.8%. Effusion was better controlled in female patients, with simple abdominal ascites, Karnovsky performance scores ≥ 80, with no liver metastases, effusion at initial diagnosis, and effective response to systemic chemotherapy.Univariate analysis showed that patients of female sex, Karnovsky performance scores ≥ 80, effusion present at initial diagnosis, simple abdominal ascites, minimal volume of effusion, absence of liver metastasis, control of effusion, initial treatment with effusions and effective response to systemic chemotherapy, normal hemoglobin, albumin, direct and indirect bilirubin levels showed better prognosis (all P0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that liver metastases, control of effusions were independent prognostic factors in patients with gastric cancer and adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (all P0.05).Female patients, simple abdominal ascites, KPS scores ≥ 80, ascites at initial diagnosis, no liver metastases and effective systemic chemotherapy seem to have a better control of the malignant effusion. Patients with no liver metastases and effective control of effusion have a longer survival time.
