A study was conducted to analyze the influences of photoinhibitory illumination on photoinhibition of photosystem II (PSII) activity, on D1 protein stability, and on the formation of free radicals in PSII-enriched membrane fragments. The Bruker ECS-106 spectrometer was utilized to determine the EPR spectra. Results indicated that inhibition kinetics associated with PSII activity did not correlate with the loss kinetics of D1 proteins.

A study was conducted to examine the production of singlet oxygen in bean leaves supporting ambiguous electron paramagnetic resonance measurements. Singlet oxygen was determined in bean leaves which were saturated with DanePy by observing the fluorescence quenching of DanePy. Results indicated that lincomycin hindered photoinhibition and the synthesis of proteins. Findings also showed that less single oxygen was obtained after 50% of the inactive photosystem II centers were determined.

Two futures researchers from the Department of Futures Research of the Budapest University of Economic Sciences, and a psychiatrist studied future orientation in groups of healthy persons and patients. Around 350 persons reported on their interest, thinking and expectations on the near and more distant future in time and space, and on the activities they perform in the interest of the future. Disorders in future orientation appear in Hungarian society today, identifiable in the discrepancy between interest in the future and actions performed for the future. The psbH locus of Synechocystis 6803 was characterized. It was shown that psbH and petCA transcripts are probably initiated separately, each from DNA regions bearing some similarity to Escherichia coli sigma(super 70) promoters. Mutant strains not able to synthesize the PsbH protein were then constructed. It was demonstrated that the PsbH protein is not absolutely required for photosystem 2 activity but that it functions to optimize electron flow between the two secondary plastoquinone acceptors by interacting with the Q(sub B) site on the D1 protein.

Food security and water security are the fundamental components of community policy making. Through increasing safety and health as well as taking care of future generations and marginal groups, food security serves as one of the key issues related to sustainable rural and agriculture development. However, for the future of the world food, supplying the necessary water is a serious global challenge. With regard to the importance of the social acceptance of cost-benefit issues about water supplying for wheat self-sufficiency in the country, this paper seeks to respond to the question 'how socially acceptable are the water supply programs for wheat self-sufficiency?'. Agriculture census (2012-13) and NETWAT data were used to compare the water consumption for wheat and other crops. A virtual workshop design was implemented for a social discourse about the reasons of water supply for wheat self-sufficiency. This was according to the integral future studies approach (2014-15). The data collection tool was a questionnaire (α = 0.05, chronbakh = 0.73) taken by a sample of 47 experts. As the results of the t-test (α = 0.05) showed, the experts would accept the pursuit of water supply programs for wheat self-sufficiency provided that water productivity is promoted and the following conditions are fulfilled: a) maintenance of the unique position of wheat in the food basket of the society, b) less water requirement for wheat than for most crops, c) insured access to wheat through its domestic production, d) improvement of national economic capacity, e) maintenance of agricultural employment capacity especially in rural areas, and f) maintenance and enhancement of national security.
