AMPS (Analysis of microelectronic and photonic structures) mode,which was developed by Pennsylvania State University,has been used to module the light J_V c haracteristics of a_Si solar cells with a structure of TCO/p_a_SiC:H/i_a_Si:H/n_ a_Si:H/metal.The effects of valence band offset and contact barriers at p/i and TOC/p,n/metal interfaces on the light J_V characteristics have been examined .The modeling has qualitatively categorized and explained the non_ideal J_V behaviors (rollover,crossover,Voc shift,and rollunder) observed in a_Si based so lar cells.

3. [Impact of progesterone concentration on hCG trigger day on clinical outcomes with cleavage-stage embryo transfer in in vitro fertilization cycles with an antagonist protocol].

- Abstract
Objective: To investigate the impact of the progesterone concentration on human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) trigger day in fresh cycles versus thawed transfer cycles (the freeze-all strategy) with an antagonist protocol, and to compare the differences in clinical outcomes. Methods: This retrospective cohort study included a total of 2 165 cycles conducted at Henan Provincial People's Hospital with cleavage-stage embryo (at least one top-quality) transfer between January 2017 and December 2023, with serum progesterone levels on hCG trigger day all≤6.34 nmol/L (i.e. 2 ng/ml). Multivariate logsitic regression analysis and curve fitting were performed based on different serum progesterone levels on hCG trigger day [≤3.17 nmol/L (i.e. 1 ng/ml) or 1-2 ng/ml]. Results: Multivariate regression analysis, by using cycle type (either fresh or frozen-thawed cycle) as the exposure variable, showed that the clinical pregnancy rate (≤1 ng/ml: OR =0.93, 95% CI : 0.75-1.14; 1-2 ng/ml: OR =1.05, 95% CI : 0.58-1.87) and live birth rate (≤1 ng/ml: OR =0.90, 95% CI : 0.71-1.13; 1-2 ng/ml: OR =1.53, 95% CI : 0.79-3.00) had no statistically significant differences in group of progesterone concentration ≤1 ng/ml or in group of 1-2 ng/ml. Using serum progesterone levels on hCG trigger day as a continuous variable for curve fitting analysis, the clinical pregnancy rate in fresh or thawed cycles showed no significant changes with increasing progesterone levels. Conclusions: In the antagonist protocol with cleavage-stage embryo transfer (at least one top-quality), when the serum progesterone level on hCG day is ≤2 ng/ml, there are no significant differences in clinical outcomes between thawed cycles and fresh cycles, including clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate. Transferred in fresh cycles or choosing the freeze-all strategy could be selected based on the actual situation of the patients.

- Abstract
Langerhans cells (LCs) are distinct among phagocytes, functioning both as embryo-derived, tissue-resident macrophages in skin innervation and repair and as migrating professional antigen-presenting cells, a function classically assigned to dendritic cells (DCs). Here, we demonstrate that both intrinsic and extrinsic factors imprint this dual identity. Using ablation of embryo-derived LCs in the murine adult skin and tracking differentiation of incoming monocyte-derived replacements, we found intrinsic intraepidermal heterogeneity. We observed that ontogenically distinct monocytes give rise to LCs. Within the epidermis, Jagged-dependent activation of Notch signaling, likely within the hair follicle niche, provided an initial site of LC commitment before metabolic adaptation and survival of monocyte-derived LCs. In the human skin, embryo-derived LCs in newborns retained transcriptional evidence of their macrophage origin, but this was superseded by DC-like immune modules after postnatal expansion. Thus, adaptation to adult skin niches replicates conditioning of LC at birth, permitting repair of the embryo-derived LC network.

- Abstract
Purinergic receptor P2Y11, a G protein-coupled receptor that is stimulated by extracellular ATP, has been demonstrated to be related to the chemotaxis of granulocytes, apoptosis of neutrophils, and secretion of cytokines in vitro. P2Y11 mutations were associated with narcolepsy. However, little is known about the roles of P2RY11 in the occurrence of narcolepsy and inflammatory response in vivo. In this study, we generated a zebrafish P2Y11 mutant using CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and demonstrated that the P2Y11 mutant replicated the narcolepsy-like features including reduced HCRT expression and excessive daytime sleepiness, suggesting that P2Y11 is essential for HCRT expression. Furthermore, we accessed the cytokine expression in the mutant and revealed that the P2RY11 mutation disrupted the systemic inflammatory balance by reducing il4, il10 and tgfb, and increasing il6, tnfa, and il1b. In addition, the P2RY11-deficient larvae with caudal fin injuries exhibited significantly slower migration and less recruitment of neutrophils and macrophages at damaged site, and lower expression of anti-inflammatory cytokines during tissue damage. All these findings highlight the vital roles of P2RY11 in maintaining HCRT production and secreting anti-inflammatory cytokines in the native environment, and suggested that P2RY11-deficient zebrafish can serve as a reliable and unique model to further explore narcolepsy and inflammatory-related diseases with impaired neutrophil and macrophage responses., (© 2024. 7. [Analysis of the relationship between embryo quality at different developmental stages and secondary sex ratio of single live births].

- Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of embryo quality at different developmental stages on the secondary sex ratio (SSR) of single live birth neonates. Methods: Data for patients with singleton live births after embryo transferred between January 2016 and January 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The effect of embryo quality at different development stages on the SSR of 11 713 singleton live births were investigated. The association of SSR and embryo quality at different development stages was examined in univariate analysis and in a multivariate logistic regression model, after adjustment for confounders, using two models (Ⅰ and Ⅱ). Results: The age of both male and female, body mass index of both male and female, basal follicle stimulating hormone and estradiol, smoking of male, methods of insemination, methods of sperm extraction, types of transfer cycle and the number of embryo transferred were not related with SSR (all P >0.05). After adjustment for confounders, the probability of a male live birth was higher after transfer of good-quality blastula than after transfer of poorer-quality blastula (model Ⅰ: a OR =0.73, 95% CI : 0.65-0.82, P <0.001; model Ⅱ: a OR =0.73, 95% CI : 0.65-0.82, P <0.001). The quality of cleavage stage embryo was not associated with SSR (model Ⅰ: a OR =0.99, 95% CI : 0.87-1.13, P= 0.937; model Ⅱ: a OR =0.99, 95% CI : 0.87-1.13, P= 0.899). Conclusions: The SSR of singleton live births after embryo transfer is not correlated with the quality of cleavage stage embryo, but is correlated with the quality of blastula. Good-quality blastula transfer is more likely to result in a male live birth.

8. dbMisLoc: A Manually Curated Database of Conditional Protein Mis-localization Events.

- Abstract
Over the last few years, an increasing number of protein mis-localization events have been reported under various conditions. It is important to understand these events and their relationship with complex disorders. Although many efforts had been made in establishing models with statistical or machine learning algorithms, a comprehensive database resource is still missing. Since the records of experimental-validated protein mis-localization events spread across many literatures, a collection of all these reports in a unique website is demanded. In this paper, we created the dbMisLoc database by manually curating conditional protein mis-localization events from various literatures. The dbMisLoc database records the protein localizations, mis-localizations, conditions for mis-localization, and the original reports. The dbMisLoc database allows the users to intuitively view, search, visualize and download protein mis-localization records. The dbMisLoc database integrates a BLAST search engine, which can search mis-localized proteins that are similar to user queries. The dbMisLoc database can be accessed directly through ( https://dbml.pufengdu.org ). The source code of dbMisLoc database is available from the GitHub repository ( https://github.com/quinlanW/dbMisLoc ) for free. Users can host their own mirrors of dbMisLoc database on their own servers. dbMisLoc is database for manually curated protein mis-localization events. 9. [Bendamustine combined with pomalidomide and dexamethasone in relapsed multiple myeloma with extramedullary disease: a multicenter study].

- Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of bendamustine combined with pomalidomide and dexamethasone (BPD regimen) in the treatment of relapsed multiple myeloma (MM) with extramedullary disease. Methods: This open, single-arm, multicenter prospective cohort study included 30 relapsed MM patients with extramedullary disease diagnosed in seven hospitals including Qingdao Municipal Hospital. The patients were treated with BPD regimen from February 2021 to November 2022. This study analyzed the efficacy and adverse reactions of the BPD regimen. Results: The median age of the 30 patients was 62 (47-72) years, of which 18 (60% ) had first-time recurrence. The overall response rate (ORR) of the 18 patients with first-time recurrence was 100%, of which three (16.7% ) achieved complete remission, 10 (55.5% ) achieved very good partial remission (VGPR), and five (27.8% ) achieved partial remission (PR). The ORR of 12 patients with recurrence after second-line or above treatment was 50%, including zero patients with ≥VGPR and six patients (50% ) with PR. Three cases (25% ) had stable disease, and three cases (25% ) had disease progression. The one-year progression free survival rate of all patients was 65.2% (95% CI 37.2% -83.1% ), and the 1-year overall survival rate was 90.0% (95% CI 76.2% -95.4% ). The common grade 3-4 hematology adverse reactions included two cases (6.7% ) of neutropenia and one case (3.3% ) of thrombocytopenia. The overall adverse reactions are controllable. Conclusions: The BPD regimen has good efficacy and tolerance in relapsed MM patients with extramedullary disease.

- Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect and mechanism of activation of peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) Toll-like receptor (TLR3) signaling pathway in recombinant HBsAg (rHBsAg) immune response. Methods: White blood cells were collected from peripheral blood of 13 healthy donors in the preparation of blood products. PBMC was isolated and treated with Poly I:C (Poly I:C group) and PBS (control group) respectively. 48 h later, some cells were collected and the expressions of TLR3 signaling pathway proteins were detected by flow cytometry. After activating (Poly I:C group)/inactivating (control group) TLR3 signaling pathway, rHBsAg was given to both groups for 72 h, and the proportions of DC, T, B cells and their subsets in PBMC were detected by flow cytometry. Paired t -test, paired samples wilcoxon signed-rank test and canonical correlation analyses were used for statistical analysis. Results: The percentage of TLR3 protein-positive cells (19.21%) and protein expression (8 983.95), NF-κB protein expression (26 193.13), the percentage of pNF-κB protein-positive cells (13.73%) and its proportion in NF-κB (16.03%), and the percentage of pIRF3 protein-positive cells (12.64%) and its proportion in IRF3 (21.80%) in Poly I:C group were higher than those in control group (11.54%, 8 086.00, 22 340.66, 8.72%, 9.71%, 9.57%, 19.12%) ( P <0.05), and the percentage of TRIF protein-positive cells (89.75%) and protein expression (304 219.54) were higher in Poly I:C group than in the control group (89.64%, 288 149.72) ( P >0.05). After PBMC stimulation by rHBsAg, the proportions of mDC (2.90%), pDC (1.80%), B cell (5.31%) and plasma cell (67.71%) in Poly I:C group were significantly higher than those in the control group (1.83%, 0.81%, 4.23%, 58.82%) ( P <0.05). Results of canonical correlation analysis showed that the expression of TLR3 protein was positively correlated with the proportions of plasma cells, the expression of pIRF3 protein was positively correlated with the proportions of plasma cells and mDC, and the percentage of pNF-κB protein-positive cells and the percentage of pIRF3 protein-positive cells were positively correlated with the proportion of CD4
+ T cells. Conclusions: Poly I:C can activate TLR3/TRIF/NF-κB and TLR3/TRIF/IRF3 signaling pathway, promote the function of downstream signaling molecules, and then promote the maturation of DC, induce the immune responses of CD4+ T cell, and promote the maturation and activation of B cells and the immune response of rHBsAg.- Published

This protocol overcomes the necessity of the Thorpe-Ingold effect and features broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance. Introduction: Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) is an emerging, therapeutic option in the management of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). A multicentre Liver Ablative Stereotactic Radiation (LASR) database was established to provide a collaborative platform for Australian institutions to define the practice of liver SBRT for HCC. This study explores the patterns of SBRT practice amongst Australian institutions., Methods: This was a multi-institutional retrospective study of patients treated with SBRT for HCC at 10 institutions between January 2013 and December 2019. Patients' demographics, disease characteristics and SBRT details were evaluated., Results: Three hundred and seventeen patients were evaluated with a median age of 67 years (range, 32-90). Liver cirrhosis was present in 88.6%, baseline Child-Pugh score was A5/6 in 85.1% and B7/8 in 13.2%. Median size of HCC treated was 30 mm (range, 10-280). 63.1% had early-stage disease (Barcelona clinic liver cancer (BCLC) stage 0/A) and 36% had intermediate/advanced-stage disease (BCLC B/C). In 2013/2014, six courses of SBRT were delivered, increasing to 108 in 2019. SBRT was prescribed in five fractions for 71.3% of the cohort. The most common dose fractionation schedule was 40 Gy in five fractions (24.3%). Median biologically effective dose (BED
10 ) delivered was 85.5 Gy for early-stage and 60 Gy for intermediate/advanced disease, respectively. The most common prescription range was 100-120 Gy BED10 (32.8%)., Conclusion: SBRT utilisation for HCC is increasing in Australia. There was wide variation in size of tumours and disease stages treated, and prescription patterns. 13. miR-22 eluting cardiovascular stent based on a self-healable spongy coating inhibits in-stent restenosis.

The in-stent restenosis (IRS) after the percutaneous coronary intervention contributes to the major treatment failure of stent implantation. MicroRNAs have been revealed as powerful gene medicine to regulate endothelial cells (EC) and smooth muscle cells (SMC) in response to vascular injury, providing a promising therapeutic candidate to inhibit IRS. However, the controllable loading and eluting of hydrophilic bioactive microRNAs pose a challenge to current lipophilic stent coatings. Here, we developed a microRNA eluting cardiovascular stent via the self-healing encapsulation process based on an amphipathic poly(ε-caprolactone)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL-PEG-PCL, PCEC) triblock copolymer spongy network. The miR-22 was used as a model microRNA to regulate SMC. The dynamic porous coating realized the uniform and controllable loading of miR-22, reaching the highest dosage of 133 pmol cm
-2 . We demonstrated that the sustained release of miR-22 dramatically enhanced the contractile phenotype of SMC without interfering with the proliferation of EC, thus leading to the EC dominating growth at an EC/SMC ratio of 5.4. More importantly, the PCEC@miR-22 coated stents showed reduced inflammation, low switching of SMC phenotype, and low secretion of extracellular matrix, which significantly inhibited IRS. Background: Smoking status at point of diagnosis is not used in defining risk groups for human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated oropharyngeal cancer (OPC) despite its prognostic value in head and neck cancer., Methods: Retrospective analysis of consecutive patients treated with chemoradiotherapy between January 2005 and July 2017 was performed with multivariable analysis to explore the impact of smoking status at diagnosis (current/former/never) on overall survival (OS), cancer-specific survival (CSS) and progression-free survival (PFS)., Results: Median follow-up was 61 months. Four hundred and four patients were included. Current smokers had inferior OS versus never and former smokers [adjusted HR 2.37 (95% CI 1.26-4.45, p < 0.01) and 2.58 (95% CI 1.40-4.73, p < 0.01), respectively] and inferior PFS versus never smokers [adjusted HR 1.83 (95% CI 1.00-3.35, p = 0.04)]. Smoking status did not predict for CSS., Conclusion: Detailed smoking behavior should be considered in refining risk groups in HPV-associated OPC treated with radiotherapy and in future trial design eligibility and stratification., (© 2021 Wiley Periodicals LLC.)

Objectives: The importance of treating the bilateral neck in lateralized small oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OCC) is unclear. We sought to define the incidence and predictors of contralateral neck failure (CLF) in patients who underwent unilateral treatment., Materials and Methods: We performed a multi-institutional retrospective study of patients with pathologic T1-T2 (AJCC 7th edition) OCC with clinically node negative contralateral neck who underwent unilateral treatment with primary surgical resection ± adjuvant radiotherapy between 2005 and 2015. Incidence of CLF was estimated using the cumulative incidence method. Clinicopathological factors were analyzed by univariate (UVA) and multivariate analysis (MVA) for possible association with CLF. Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to estimate overall survival (OS)., Results: 176 patients were evaluated with a median of 65.9 months of follow-up. Predominant pathologic T-stage was T1 (68%), 8.5% of patients were N1, 2.8% were N2b. Adjuvant radiotherapy was delivered to 17% of patients. 5-year incidence of CLF was 4.3% (95% CI 1.2-7.4%). Depth of invasion (DOI) > 10 mm and positive ipsilateral neck node were significant predictors for CLF on UVA. DOI > 10 mm remained significant on MVA (HR = 6.7, 95% CI 1.4-32.3, p = 0.02). The 2- and 5-year OS was 90.6% (95% CI 86.2-95.0%) and 80.6% (95% CI 74.5-86.8%), respectively., Conclusion: Observation of the clinically node negative contralateral neck in small lateralized OCC can be a suitable management approach in well selected patients, however caution should be applied when DOI upstages small but deeply invasive tumors to T3 on 8th edition AJCC staging., (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier Ltd. Herein we report a novel Cu-catalyzed regioselective C2-H alkylation of benzimidazoles with aromatic alkenes. The reaction features exclusive regioselectivity and broad substrate scope in the intermolecular alkylation of benzimidazoles with terminal and internal aromatic alkenes, constituting a modular access toward benzimidazole-containing 1,1-di(hetero)aryl alkanes. The intramolecular C2-H alkylation of benzimidazoles with aromatic alkenes has been achieved in an endo -selective manner. The enantioselective C2 alkylation of benzimidazoles has also been realized with moderate to good stereocontrol.

Background and Purpose: Human papillomavirus-associated oropharyngeal cancer (HPV+ OPC) with regional lymph node metastases has a good prognosis following (chemo)radiation therapy (C/RT) but lymph nodes may remain detectable for several months. Delayed [
18 F]-Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET) can identify patients who may avoid post-treatment neck dissection (PTND). We investigated the rate of PTND in HPV+ OPC treated with C/RT and delayed PET-directed management of the neck., Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study from a prospectively updated institutional database. Eligible patients were treated between January 2005 and July 2017 with a minimum of 18 months follow up, had node-positive, non-distant metastatic HPV+ OPC and were treated with RT (70 Gy/35#/5 per week) with concurrent Cisplatin or Cetuximab, or accelerated RT alone (68 Gy/34#/6 per week). The primary endpoint was rate of PTND. Secondary endpoints were locoregional failure free survival (LRFFS), regional failure free survival (RFFS), distant metastatic failure free survival (DMFFS), overall survival (OS) and oropharyngeal cancer-specific survival (CSS)., Results: 418 patients were eligible. Nineteen patients (4.5%) received a PTND. None of the tested variables were associated with an increased risk of PTND. Despite the success of classic cross-coupling reactions, the cross-dehydrogenative coupling between inert C(sp3 )-H and C(sp2 )-H bonds represents an attractive alternative toward new C(sp3 )-C(sp2 ) bonds. Objective: To study the effects of Fomes officinalis Ames. polysaccharides(FOPS) on anti-fatigue and hypoxia tolerance in mice., Methods: Forty-eight mice were randomly divided into control group, low-dose, middle-dose and high-dose group of FOPS (100, 200, 400 mg/kg). All mice were orally administered by 0.20 ml/10 g, once a day for 21 consecutive days. The effects of different doses of FOPS on the loaded-swimming time, the content of serum urea nitrogen, the blood lactic acid, the hepatic glycogen and the muscle glycogen after exercise, the survival time under hypoxia at normal pressure and the maintenance time after decapitation were observed., Results: FOPS could significantly prolong the loaded-swimming time, decrease the contents of serum urea nitrogen , blood lactic acid and increase the contents of hepatic glycogen and muscle glycogen, significantly prolong the survival time under hypoxia and the maintenance time after decapitation comparing with the control group. Compared with the control group, FOPS could prolong the weight-bearing swimming time, anti-hypoxia survival time and respiratory maintenance time of mice after decapitation in a dose-dependent manner (P<0.05 or 0.01). FOPS could decrease the contents of serum urea nitrogen and blood lactic acid, and increase the contents of hepatic glycogen and muscle glycogen in exercise mice, and most of them were significantly different (P<0.05) or extremely significant (P<0.01)., Conclusion: FOPS has anti-fatigue effects and can improve hypoxia tolerance.

Moreover, an efficient and site-selective acetoxylation of various primary methyl, methylene, and benzylic C(sp3)-H bonds was performed by using cheap K2S2O8 as the external oxidant.

Objective: To investigate the relationship between maternal peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) hepatitis B virus (HBV) covalenty closed circular deoxyribonucleic acid (cccDNA) and other HBV serological markers and its effects on HBV intrauterine transmission., Methods: We enrolled 290 newborns and their hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) positive mothers. HBV cccDNA in PBMC and HBV DNA in serum were detected by a real-time PCR-TaqMan probe while HBV serological markers were detected with an electrochemiluminescence immunoassay., Results: There was a positive correlation between the levels of PBMC HBV cccDNA and serum HBV DNA and HBeAg (r = 0.436 and 0.403, P < 0.001). The detection rate of pattern A ['HBsAg (+), HBeAg (+), and anti-HBc (+)'] was significantly higher in the PBMC HBV cccDNA positive group than in the control group (χ2 = 48.48, P < 0.001). There was a significant association between HBV intrauterine transmission and PBMC HBV cccDNA (χ2 = 9.28, P = 0.002). In the presence of serum HBV DNA, HBeAg, and PBMC HBV cccDNA, the risk of HBV intrauterine transmission was three times higher (OR = 3.69, 95% CI: 1.30-10.42) than that observed in their absence. The risk of HBV intrauterine transmission was the greatest (OR = 5.89, 95% CI: 2.35-14.72) when both PBMC HBV cccDNA and pattern A were present. A Bayesian network model showed that maternal PBMC HBV cccDNA was directly related to HBV intrauterine transmission., Conclusion: PBMC HBV cccDNA may be a direct risk factor for HBV intrauterine transmission. There are several methods to obtain accurate anatomical information of biliary system, such as X-ray fluoroscopy, MRI and fluorescence-based imaging. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Combination of multi-model imaging technologies may improve visual result of anatomical information of biliary tract. More resolvable, legible, and sequential imaging technology of biliary system remains further study. This article reviews various cholangiography methods widely used in the clinical setting.

- Abstract
The high frequency of bird strikes at night during the migration season is a remarkable characteristic of bird strikes at airports. Understanding the nocturnal migration patterns of birds is important for improving the methods to prevent bird strikes at night. In this study, we combined the methods of mist-net capture and sound recording to examine the composition of bird species and the patterns of nocturnal migration at Taoxian Airport. We found that 56 species of birds (88.9% of the total) migrated at night and mainly migrated after midnight. There were obvious temporal dynamics and sequence in migration. The time of spring migration was more concentrated and the migration peaked in mid-May, with Coturnix japonica, Lanius cristatus, Emberiza fucata, Saxicola torquatus, Caprimulgus indicus and Phylloscopus inornatus as the dominant species. The migration pattern was more dispersed in autumn and the peak of migration was in late September to early October, and the main species were C. japonica, Turdus hortulorum, Anthus cervinus, Scolopax rusticola, Locustella lanceolata and Emberiza spodocephala. Based on the Bird Hazard Risk Assessment, there were mainly two species with high risk (C. japonica and L. cristatus) in spring migration and four species with high risk (C. japonica, Athene noctua, T. hortulorum and S. rusticola) in autumn migration. We proposed several strategies for the prevention of bird strike based on the composition of migratory birds, migration dynamics, migration rhythm and species risk level, which could serve as references for bird strike prevention at Taoxian Airport.

Objectives: To assess the utility of a repeat positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) instead of immediate neck dissection (ND) for incomplete nodal response (IR) in Human Papillomavirus (HPV)-associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPC) following chemoradiotherapy/radiotherapy [(chemo)RT]., Materials and Methods: Patients with non-distant metastatic, node positive (N+) disease treated between Jan/2005 to Jan/2016, achieved complete response at the primary with no distant relapse on a 12-week re-staging PET/CT were evaluated. Patients underwent surveillance after complete nodal response (CR). Patients with IR underwent repeat PET/CT at 16 weeks to direct neck management. Primary endpoints were CR conversion rate and subsequent regional failure following a 16-week PET/CT directed ND. Secondary endpoints were predictive values (PV) of the 12- and 16-week PET/CT for residual nodal disease, predictors for requiring the 16-week PET/CT, 5 year regional, locoregional failure free survival (FFS) and overall survival (OS)., Results: 235 patients were evaluated. Median follow up was 56 (range 19-60) months. 41 patients underwent 16-week re-staging PET/CT, 29 (71%) converted to CR. No subsequent regional failures occurred following a 16-week PET/CT directed ND. Positive and negative PV of the 12- and 16-week PET/CT for residual nodal disease was 12% & 98%, and 33% & 97%, respectively. N-category (AJCC/UICC 7th edition) predicted for requiring a 16-week PET/CT on univariate analysis (P-value 0.02). 5 year regional, locoregional FFS and OS was 95.8%, 93.4% and 90.8%, respectively., Conclusion: For N+ HPV-associated OPC achieving IR on the 12-week re-staging PET/CT following (chemo)RT, a repeat 16-week PET/CT can spare patients from unnecessary surgery., (Copyright © 2018 Elsevier Ltd. In this study, actinomycetes were isolated from rhizosphere soil of tomato by spread plate method, with the pathogen Botrytis cinerea as the target fungus. An actinomycete isolate LA-5 with strong antifungal activity was obtained by confrontation culture and Oxford cup double screening method. According to cultural characteristics, physiological and biochemical properties and 16S rDNA analysis, the strain LA-5 was primarily identified as Streptomyces chungwhensis. The second screening results showed that the fermentation filtrate of LA-5 could substantially inhibit the spore germination and mycelium growth of B. cinerea. Both conidium germination and mycelia growth could be inhibited by 100 times fermentation broth of LA-5, with the inhibiting rate being higher than 50%. Furthermore, the inhibited colony showed white mycelia, with sparse and thin aerial hypha, and the obviously decreased branches. Results from in vitro biocontrol experiment showed that control efficiency of filtrate from LA-5 fermentation liquid on B. cinerea could be up to 83.4%, indicating that the strain was a potential antagonist against tomato gray mold.

2 films to form poor-quality films with large grain size and surface roughness, while, for the conversion of PbI2 to perovskite films, a small amount of moisture is not adverse, and even beneficial. On this basis, we report the successful fabrication of efficient mesoporous PSCs with PCE of 16.00% under ambient air conditions at 25% relative humidity by adding a small amount of n-butyl amine into the solution of PbI2 to enhance the quality of PbI2 films and thus to achieve high-quality perovskite films with smooth surface, large crystal grains, and high crystal quality.- Published

Schisandrin, derived from the Chinese medicinal herb Schisandra chinensis, has been found to confer protective effects on circulation systems. But the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of a high level of glucose on RhoA and eNOS activity in human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs) and how Schisandrin plays a role in mediating these effects. To find the optimal treatment time, HUVECs were cultured at a high glucose concentration (30 mM) for different lengths of time (0, 12, 24, and 48 h). Subsequently, the cells were randomized into five groups: a normal group, a high glucose group, and three high glucose groups that were given different doses (5, 10, and 20 μM) of Schisandrin. The cells were pretreated with Schisandrin for 24 h before stimulation with high glucose. The morphology of HUVECs in the various groups was assessed under a light microscope. Immunocytochemical staining was used to detect the level of p-MYPT1 expression. The levels of RhoA activity were determined using the RhoA Activation Assay Biochem Kit. The levels of eNOS activity were examined using a nitrate reduction test. The results showed that in the high glucose group, the activity of RhoA was increased and the activity of eNOS was reduced, thus decreasing the secretion of NO. However, after pretreatment with Schisandrin (10, 20 μM), the activity of RhoA was inhibited and the activity of eNOS increased, which led to an increase in NO production compared with the high glucose group. There was no evident difference between the 5 μM Schisandrin group and the high glucose group. Taken together, these findings indicate that Schisandrin can improve the function of endothelial cells by lowering the activity of RhoA/Rho kinase and raising both the activity of eNOS and the production of NO., (Copyright © 2018 Elsevier GmbH. Methods: A total of 225 pairs of mothers and their infants were recruited in our cohort from June 2011 to July 2013. Infants were given three doses of hepatitis B vaccine at hour 24, first month and month 6(t)h respectively and were followed up for one year after birth. HBV serological markers and HBV DNA in the peripheral blood of both mothers and infants were detected by Electro-chemiluminescence immunoassay and fluorescence quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction. Results: Six HBV infection models were detected in HBsAg-positive mothers, and "HBsAg (+), HBeAg (+), anti-HBc (+)" (model one) and "HBsAg (+), anti-HBe (+), anti-HBc (+)" (model two) accounted for 92.5 % (208/225) of all the models. Rate of non/low-response to hepatitis B vaccine in infants born to mothers in model one was lower than those in model two, the differences are statistically significant ( χ (2)=4.80, P =0.029). The rate of non/low-response to hepatitis B vaccine in infants showed a downward trend with the rising of HBeAg level in their mothers ( χ (2)=4.86, P =0.028). Results from the unconditional logistic regression analysis showed that the HBeAg of the HBsAg-positive mothers was significantly correlated with the low risk of non/low-response to hepatitis B vaccine in infants ( OR =0.598, 95 %CI : 0.378-0.947). The positive rate of serum HBV DNA in HBsAg-positive mothers was 54.2 % , while the rate of non/low-response to hepatitis B vaccine in infants born to HBV DNA positive mothers was similar to those infants born to HBV DNA negative mothers ( χ (2)=0.22, P =0.640). Conclusions: "HBsAg (+), HBeAg (+), anti-HBc (+)" and "HBsAg (+), anti-HBe(+), anti-HBc (+)" were the common models seen in HBsAg-positive mothers, and the rate of non/low-response to hepatitis B vaccine was different between the two models. HBeAg of HBsAg-positive mothers might have positive effects on the immune response to hepatitis B vaccine in infants but the mechanisms remained not clear. HBV DNA of the HBsAg-positive mothers did not seem to be correlated with the immune response to hepatitis B vaccine in infants.

- Abstract
Purpose To report the results of the Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Group randomized phase III trial designed to determine whether the addition of concurrent chemotherapy to postoperative radiotherapy (CRT) improved locoregional control in patients with high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. Patients and Methods The primary objective was to determine whether there was a difference in freedom from locoregional relapse (FFLRR) between 60 or 66 Gy (6 to 6.5 weeks) with or without weekly carboplatin (area under the curve 2) after resection of gross disease. Secondary efficacy objectives were to compare disease-free survival and overall survival. Results Three hundred twenty-one patients were randomly assigned, with 310 patients commencing allocated treatment (radiotherapy [RT] alone, n = 157; CRT, n = 153). Two hundred thirty-eight patients (77%) had high-risk nodal disease, 59 (19%) had high-risk primary or in-transit disease, and 13 (4%) had both. Median follow-up was 60 months. Median RT dose was 60 Gy, with 84% of patients randomly assigned to CRT completing six cycles of carboplatin. The 2- and 5-year FFLRR rates were 88% (95% CI, 83% to 93%) and 83% (95% CI, 77% to 90%), respectively, for RT and 89% (95% CI, 84% to 94%) and 87% (95% CI, 81% to 93%; hazard ratio, 0.84; 95% CI, 0.46 to 1.55; P = .58), respectively, for CRT. There were no significant differences in disease-free or overall survival. Locoregional failure was the most common site of first treatment failure, with isolated distant metastases as the first site of failure seen in 7% of both arms. Treatment was well tolerated in both arms, with no observed enhancement of RT toxicity with carboplatin. Grade 3 or 4 late toxicities were infrequent. Conclusion Although surgery and postoperative RT provided excellent FFLRR, there was no observed benefit with the addition of weekly carboplatin.

Objective: To explore the relationship between HBeAg in HBsAg positive mothers and CD(4)(+)CD(25)(+) Foxp3 (+)regulatory T cells (Treg) in newborns, as well as how they would influence the increasing risk on HBV intrauterine transmission. Methods: We collected information on general demographic characteristics and delivery on 270 HBsAg positive mothers and their newborns from the Third People's Hospital of Taiyuan. Fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (FQ-PCR) and chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA) were used to detect HBV DNA and HBV serological markers in peripheral blood from both mothers and neonates. The expression of Treg and other immune cells in peripheral blood of neonates were detected with flow cytometry (FCM). Results: Maternal HBeAg positive rates were associated with an increased risk of intrauterine transmission ( OR =4.08, 95 %CI : 1.89-8.82). Rates of Treg in newborns born to HBsAg-positive mothers were higher than that of the negative group ( Z =2.29, P =0.022). Each pair of the subjects was assigned to five different groups according to the HBeAg titers of mothers. Frequencies of both Treg and HBeAg in newborns and HBV DNA in mothers between the above said 5 groups showed similar trends of changing patterns and the differences between groups were statistically significant(χ(2)=18.73, P <0.001; χ(2)=181.60, P <0.001; χ(2)=183.09, P <0.001). Results from partial correlation analysis showed that after adjusting for neonatal HBeAg and maternal HBV DNA, mother's HBeAg titers were positively related to the percentage of Treg in their newborns ( r(s) =0.19, P =0.039). In addition, the frequencies of Treg were negatively correlated with pDC and CD(4)(+) T cell in their newborns ( r(s) =-0.21, P =0.017; r(s) =-0.23, P =0.009). Conclusion: HBeAg from HBsAg positive mothers might have inhibited the function of neonatal DC cells and T cells to reduce the immune response to HBV by up-regulating the proportion of Treg and finally increased the risk of HBV intrauterine transmission.

- Abstract
Controllable synthesis of various ZnO nanocrystals was achieved via a simple and cost-effective hydrothermal process. The morphology evolution of the ZnO nanostructures was well monitored by tuning hydrothermal growth parameters, such as solution concentration, reaction temperature, and surfactant. As-obtained ZnO nanocrystals with different morphologies, e.g., ZnO nanorods, nanotetrapods, nanoflowers, and nanocubes, were further introduced into the organic bulk heterojunction solar cells as the electron transport channel. It was found that the device performance was closely related to the morphology of the ZnO nanocrystals.

Objective: To investigate the influencing factors for non/low-response to hepatitis B vaccine in infants of HBsAg-positive mothers. Methods: A total of 286 HBsAg-positive pregnant women and their infants were recruited from the Third People's Hospital of Taiyuan during July 2011 to January 2013. The infants were immunized with hepatitis B vaccine according to the 0-1-6 month vaccination schedule and followed up for 12 months. The serum HBV DNA level of mothers, neonates and infants were detected by electro chemilum inescence immunoassay kits and fluorescene quantiative polymerase chain rection. Results: Among 286 infants, the rate of non/low-response to hepatitis B vaccine was 18.53 % (53/286). Non-conditional logistic regression analysis indicated that the mother's HBV DNA level ≥1×10(7) copies/ml ( OR =2.592, 95 %CI : 1.121-5.996) and natural birth ( OR =1.932, 95 %CI : 1.021-3.654) were the risk factors for non/low-response to hepatitis B vaccine, the risks were 2.592 times and 1.932 times higher compared with the infants whose mothers were HBV DNA negative and the infants whose mothers had cesarean delivery. There was no multiplicative or additive interaction between high HBV DNA load and natural birth ( OR =1.055, 95 %CI : 0.209-5.321), ( RERI =1.617, 95 %CI : -4.038-7.272; AP =0.364, 95 %CI : -0.527-1.225; SI =1.195, 95 %CI : 0.270-13.135). After stratified analysis of mother's HBV DNA level, delivery mode of mothers was not associated with non/low-response of their infants. Conclusion: The mother's load of HBV DNA≥1×10(7) copies/ml might be the factor for non/low-response to hepatitis B vaccine in infants of HBsAg positive mothers.

- Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and Interleukin-12 (IL-12) on immune response to hepatitis B vaccination in infants of HBsAg-positive mothers. Methods: A total of 91 neonates whose mothers were HBsAg-positive were included and followed up for 12 months. HBV DNA and HBV serological markers in the peripheral blood of the neonates and infants were detected with fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (FQ-PCR) and chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA), and the levels of IL-6 and IL-12 in the peripheral blood of the neonates and infants were detected with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results: The non-/hypo-response rate to hepatitis B vaccination was 35.16 % (32/91) in the 91 infants. In the neonatal period and infantile period, the level of IL-6 in non-/hypo-response group was lower than that in high-response group, while the level of IL-12 was higher than that in high-response group, and there was significant difference ( P <0.01). From the neonatal period to the infantile period, the level of IL-6 increased, while the level of IL-12 descended in both groups, and there was significant difference ( P <0.01). Furthermore, the level of anti-HBs of infants was positively correlated with the level of IL-6 ( r(s) =0.70, 0.79, P <0.01), and was negatively correlated with the level of IL-12 ( r(s) =-0.71, -0.72, P <0.01) in the neonatal period and the infantile period. From the neonatal period to the infantile period, the increased level of IL-6 was positively associated with the level of anti-HBs ( r(s) = -0.74, P <0.01), while the decreased level of IL-12 was negatively associated with the level of anti-HBs ( r(s) =-0.42, P <0.01). The level of IL-6 was negatively correlated with the level of IL-12 in the neonatal period and the infantile period ( r(s) =-0.68, -0.70, P <0.01). Conclusions: IL-6 might promote the immune response to hepatitis B vaccination in infants whose mothers were HBsAg-positive, while IL-12 might inhibit the immune response. IL-6 and IL-12 would affect the immune response to hepatitis B vaccination in infants of HBsAg-positive mothers at the same time.

- Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect of telbivudine treatment in a prevention program on infants born to HBsAg-positive mothers with non-/hypo-responsiveness to hepatitis B vaccine. Methods: A retrospective cohort study with a total of 321 HBsAg-positive pregnant women and their infants enrolled, was conducted. The mothers were recruited from the Third People' s Hospital of Taiyuan, from July 2011 to January 2013. According to the situation of telbivudine intake in second and third trimesters of pregnancy, the participants were divided into two groups: with telbivudine-treated or as control. The neonates were followed up till the age of 12 months. Maternal, neonatal and infantile HBV-M together with HBV DNA in serum were measured using the electro-chemiluminescence immuno-assay (ECLIA) kits and fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (FQ-PCR) assay, respectively. Results: The rate of non-/hypo-response was 17.99%. After adjusting the potential confounding factors, the telbivudine treatment on HBsAg-positive mothers in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy seemed as the protective factor for non-/hypo-response to hepatitis B vaccine in infants (a RR =0.119, 95 % CI : 0.014-0.974). Levels of IFN-γ and IL-10 in telbivudine-treated group were higher than those in the controls (a RR =8.684, 95 %CI : 1.977-38.140; a RR =5.330, 95 % CI : 1.278-22.236). When the serum levels of IFN-γ and IL-10 in neonatal peripheral blood were higher than 228.47 pg/ml and 174.05 pg/ml respectively, the infants were less likely to be non-/hypo-responsive to the hepatitis B vaccine (a RR =0.300, 95 %CI : 0.105-0.857) (a RR = 0.104, 95 % CI : 0.030-0.354). Conclusion: Telbivudine treatment provided for the HBsAg-positive mothers in second and third trimesters of pregnancy were less likely to develop non-/low-responsive to hepatitis B vaccine in infants since IFN-γ and IL-10 might have played a vital role in this process.

Objective: To investigate the effect of occupational lead exposure on blood pressure and pro-vide supportive evidence of health protection on lead - exposed workers. Methods: 612 workers (452 lead - ex-posed workers, 160 workers as control) were recruited in the battery factory. The blood lead concentration and blood pressure were detected by occupational health examination and biological monitoring. The relationship of blood lead concentration and blood pressure wasanalyzed. Results: The blood lead concentration in the exposed group (249.84±137.74) μg/L was higher than that of the control group (117.25±70.15) μg/L, and the differ-ence was statistically significant ( P <0.01) . The difference of abnormal blood pressure and diastolic pressure among the exposed and the control group was statistically significant ( P <0.05) . The abnormal blood pressure rate, systolic pressure rate and diastolic pressure rate in the 400~726 μg/L group was higher than that of the 6~199 μg/L and 200~399 μg/L group, and the difference was statistically significant ( P <0.01) . Multiple lin-ear regression analysis showed that the influencing factors of the systolic pressure followed by sex, age, length of service and blood lead concentration, diastolic pressure followed by sex, age, smoke and blood lead concen-tration. Conclusion: These findings suggest that long - term occupational lead exposure may result in the in-crease of blood lead concentration.

- Abstract
Objective: To screen sensitive indicators of renal injury in lead workers using benchmark dose method. Methods: Of the 486 subjects,116 did not occupationally contact to lead as a control. The blood lead was considered as exposure biomarker, while Uβ
2 -MG and UNAG as effect biomarkers for renal injury. The BMD and BMDL of blood lead were estimated at the 10% benchmark response using BMDS Version 2.6. Results: There was statistical rise in blood lead between the lead group and control group ( P <0.05) ; and the blood lead level was divided into four groups by quarterback spacing method, among which UNAG was statistically different ( P <0.05) . There was an increased prevalence of abnormal rates of Uβ2 -MG and UNAG with increasing blood lead concentration ( P <0.05) , after trend chi-square test. BMD and BMDL of UNAG and Uβ2 -MG were 602.784/431.838 μg/L and 130.398/100.981 μg/L caculated by Log-Probit model, respectively. Conclusions: Occupational lead exposure may cause kidney damage, and UNAG could be as a more sensitive marker for monitoring early renal injury than Uβ2 -MG.- Published

Background: Astrocyte elevated gene-1 (AEG-1) is a positive regulator of tumorigenesis and a valuable prognostic marker of a diverse array of cancers, including liver cancer; however, the relationship between AEG-1 and hepatic fibrogenesis is not known., Objective: The objective of this study was to explore the expression of AEG-1 during hepatic fibrogenesis and determine how AEG-1 regulates the profibrogenic phenotype of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs)., Methods: The levels of AEG-1 were monitored in the fibrotic livers and transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β)- or lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated HSCs. The expression of AEG-1 was knocked down by lentivirus-mediated short hairpin RNA in HSCs, and collagen expression, proliferation assays, apoptosis induction studies, and migration assays were simultaneously conducted in vitro., Results: AEG-1 expression was increased in the fibrotic livers. At the cellular level, TGF-β or LPS stimulation, which caused HSC activation, induced AEG-1 expression in HSC-T6 and primary rat HSCs (P < 0.05). Knockdown of AEG-1 inhibited collagen I and α-smooth muscle actin expression (P < 0.05), reduced cell proliferation (P < 0.05) and motility (P < 0.05), and induced cell apoptosis (P < 0.05) in HSCs. This antifibrotic effect caused by lack of AEG-1 was associated with the inactivation of PI3K/Akt and the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway., Conclusions: Knockdown of AEG-1 suppressed the activation of HSCs by modulating the phenotype and inducing apoptosis. AEG-1 might be a potential target in treatment of hepatic fibrosis.

Objective: The correlation of vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene polymorphism and blood lead level had been in doult, which allowed us to write this article., Methods: Relevant studies about the blood lead and VDR B/b gene polymorphism which published from 1979-2015, were searched in multiple bibliographic databases, such as: CNKI, Wanfang Database, PUBMED. Of the ten references selceted, three were divided into two groups which were classified as different researches, so there were thirteen studies in the meta-analysis. According to the level of blood lead, the studies were analyzed by three groups: normal group, low dose grou and high dose group. The analysis was performed by stata 12.0 software., Results: The blood lead level of VDR B/b genotype was significantly difference in all the three groups (P<0.05) , but there were apparent heterogeneity between normal group and low dose group (P<0.05, I(2)=84.2%; P<0.05, I(2)=88.9%) , except the high dose group (P>0.05, I(2)=12.7%) ; after adjusted, all showed no heterogeneity, and the results were still the same., Conclusion: The genotype of VDR may be correlated with blood lead, and the levels of blood lead varied with different genetypes.

Although healthy infants have developed from non- and mono-pronuclear zygotes, the transfer of embryos from non- and mono-pronuclear zygotes is not recommended because there are no proper selection criteria. In the present study, we discuss how to select non- and mono-pronuclear embryos with the highest developmental potential at 19-20 hours post-insemination. We found that the percentage of blastocysts with normal chromosome constitution in non-pronuclear zygotes was slightly higher than in mono-pronuclear zygotes. Non- and mono-pronuclear embryos that were at the 4-cell stage on D2 and/or at the 6- to 8-cell stage on D3 had higher incidence rates of blastocysts with normal chromosome constitutions. We also found higher incidences of blastocysts with normal chromosome constitution on D6 than on D5. The results suggest that if high quality non- and mono-pronuclear zygotes develop to the 4-cell stage on D2 and the 6-to 8- cell stages on D3, along with high quality D6 blastocysts, the incidence of blastocysts with normal chromosome constitution is higher.

Ordered ZnO nanorod array/p-GaN heterojunction light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have been fabricated by introducing graphene as the current spreading layer, which exhibit improved electroluminescence performance by comparison to the LED using a conventional structure (indium-tin-oxide as the current spreading layer). In addition, by adjusting the diameter of ZnO nanorod array in use, the light emission of the ZnO nanorod array/p-GaN heterojunction LEDs was enhanced further. - Abstract
The relationship between T cell immunoglobulin domain and mucin domain protein 3 (Tim-3)/Galectin (Gal)-9 pathway and recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) was studied. Thirty-one pregnant women with RSA and 27 normal early gravidas were investigated to detect the levels of Tim-3 and Gal-9 in villi and deciduas by Western blotting. Meanwhile, the concentration of interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-12 in peripheral blood plasma was determined by ELISA in 25 healthy fertile non-pregnant controls, the normal early gravidas and pregnant women with RSA mentioned above, respectively. It was found that the relative expression levels of Tim-3 and Gal-9 in villi and deciduas were significantly increased in pregnant women with RSA as compared with those in the normal early gravidas. The concentration of IL-4 in peripheral blood plasma of pregnant women with RSA was lower than that of the normal early gravidas (P<0.05) and healthy fertile non-pregnant controls (P<0.05), but that of IL-2 in pregnant women with RSA was significantly higher than that of the normal early gravidas (P<0.05) and healthy fertile non-pregnant controls (P<0.05). It was suggested that the overexpression of Tim-3/Gal-9 pathway may be related to the pathogenesis of RSA.

- Abstract
Background: Neurogenin2 (Ngn2) is a proneural gene that directs neuronal differentiation of progenitor cells during development. Here, we investigated whether Ngn2 can reprogram MSCs to adopt a neural precursor fate and enhance the therapeutic effects of MSCs after experimental stroke., Methods: In vitro, MSCs were transfected with lenti-GFP or lenti-Ngn2. Following neuronal induction, cells were identified by immunocytochemistry, Western blot and electrophysiological analyses. In a stroke model induced by transient right middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO), PBS, GFP-MSCs or Ngn2-MSCs were injected 1 day after MCAO. Behavioral tests, neurological and immunohistochemical assessments were performed., Results: In vitro, Ngn2-MSCs expressed neural stem cells markers (Pax6 and nestin) and lost the potential to differentiate into mesodermal cell types. Following neural induction, Ngn2-MSCs expressed higher levels of neuron-specific proteins MAP2, Tuj1 and NeuN, and also expressed voltage-gated Na+ channel, which was absent in GFP-MSCs. In vivo, after transplantation, Ngn2-MSCs significantly reduced apoptotic cells, decreased infarct volume, and increased the expression of VEGF and BDNF. Finally, Ngn2-MSCs treated animals showed the highest functional recovery among the three groups., Conclusions: Ngn2 was sufficient to convert MSCs into a neural precursor fate and transplantation of Ngn2-MSCs was advantageous for the treatment of stroke rats., (© 2014 S. - Abstract
In this paper, controllable synthesis of various ZnO nanostructures was achieved via a simple and cost-effective hydrothermal process on the Si substrate. The morphology evolution of the ZnO nanostructures was well monitored by tuning hydrothermal growth parameters, such as the seed layer, solution concentration, reaction temperature, and surfactant. X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence measurements reveal that crystal quality and optical properties crucially depend on the morphology of the ZnO nanostructures. The ease of synthesis and convenience to tune morphology and optical properties bring this approach great potential for nanoscale applications.

48. Microwires fabricated by glass-coated melt spinning.

- Abstract
The glass-coated melt spinning method offers a route for the manufacture of metal filaments with a few micrometers in diameter in a single operation directly from the melt. Cobalt-based amorphous wires, Cu-15.0 atomic percent (at. %) Sn shape-memory wires, and Ni2MnGa (atomic percent) ferromagnetic wires were successfully produced by this method. The cobalt-based amorphous wire is flexible, and Cu-15.0 at. % Sn shape-memory wires have the tensile elongation of 14%. However, because of chemical reaction with glass and oxidation, it is hard to make Cu-Al-Ni shape-memory wires and Ni-Nb-Sn amorphous wires. Conditions for preparing these materials were summarized, and the differences of the solidification processes among glass-coated amorphous cobalt-based wires, Cu-15.0 at. % Sn shape-memory wires, and Ni2MnGa wires were analyzed and discussed.

- Abstract
This study aimed to identify biochemical predictors of adverse perinatal outcomes in intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP). A total of 106 ICP cases were analyzed retrospectively by the combination of receiver operating characteristic curve and binary logistic regression analysis. "Adverse perinatal outcomes" included spontaneous preterm labor, meconium-staining of amniotic fluid, stillbirth and Apgar score ≤7 at 1 or 5 min. Total bile acid (TBA) [AUC=0.658, 95%CI (0.536, 0.781), P=0.031] was a valuable predictor for adverse perinatal outcomes. The critical value of TBA above which adverse perinatal outcomes were observed was 40.15 μmol/L (Youden's index=0.3). Binary multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that the risk of adverse perinatal outcomes increased when TBA ≥40.15 μmol/L [OR=3.792, 95%CI (1.226, 11.727), P=0.021]. It is concluded that the risk of adverse perinatal outcomes in ICP increases when maternal TBA ≥40.15 μmol/L.

- Abstract
HBsAg gene was previously introduced into cherry tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum var. cerasiforme) by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. To investigate the side effect of HBsAg gene in cherry tomato, we analyzed morphological and physiological characteristics of the transgenic mutant N244. The process was performed under field conditions. The results suggested that the mutant N244 exhibited morphological, cytological and physiological variation. First of all, compared with the wild plants NK, N244 had fleshy and dark green leaves, the fewer notches of leaf edge, more adventitious roots and barren seeds. Moreover, the chromosome of N244 were found to be triploid (n = 36) by flow cytometric analysis. Furthermore, N244 has obvious physiological alterations, as compared to NK. It was speculated that transformation of the genes probably led to ploidy variation, and further caused phenotype and physiological changes of plants. Our study will reveal side effects of the mutants, and promote cultivation of transgenic plants in the field.
