Abstract Despite the growing interest in the migration of older adults in China, the intricacies linking migration motivations with destination choices remain insufficiently explored. Drawing from China’s unique context, we categorize inter-provincial older migrants into three types: employment-led, dependent, and lifestyle. Using microdata from the Sixth Population Census of 2010 and the 1% Population Sampling Survey of 2015, we examine their evolving motivations and corresponding shifts in destination preferences. The analysis shows an increase in lifestyle-oriented migration and a decrease in dependent migration, while employment-led migration has remained stable relative to the total. Older migrants seeking employment tend to favor destinations further south, prioritizing regional economic conditions. In contrast, those motivated by lifestyle factors exhibit a broader range of destination choices, largely due to their preference for amenities. Dependent older adult migrants consider both job-related and amenity-related factors and demonstrate a stronger tendency to relocate to the east. Amenity-related factors have increasingly influenced the destination choices across all three types of migration over time. Our findings provide deeper insights into the intricacies of migration in old adulthood and highlight the need for tailored policymaking.

I denna artikel undersöks hur tonårstjejer diskuterar representationer av ångest i en Youtube-video där en svensk influencer bemöter kritik hon har fått för att överanvända ordet ångest. För studien intervjuades 38 tjejer vid tre olika gymnasieskolor i en mellanstor svensk stad. Analysen visar att tjejerna till stor del tar influencerns parti genom att betona hennes rätt att själv definiera och etikettera sitt mående. De beskriver också betydelsen av att hon lyckas övertyga sina följare om att hon faktiskt lider av ångest för att inte hennes autenticitet ska bli ifrågasatt. De tydliga ställningstagandena för influencern måste förstås i relation till en social och kulturell kontext, där det kan vara känsligt att ifrågasätta någon annans representation av sina upplevda psykiska besvär som sjukdom. Respekten för influencerns etikettering av sina känslor som ångest kan därför tolkas som en viktig del av tjejernas självpresentation i intervjusituationen. På samma gång är tjejernas förhållningssätt gentemot influencerns video både del av, och bidrar till, en hälsodiskurs som förlägger såväl ansvaret för det egna måendet och rätten att definiera det hos individen.

Sharenting – parents’ content sharing about their children on social media in the form of text, image, or video – is a widespread phenomenon internationally. However, research on sharenting is scarce in a Nordic context, especially from the perspective of children and adolescents. The objectives of this paper are to analyze sharenting practices in Norway, how sharenting-related tensions between parents and children manifest, and potential strategies for reducing tensions. The article draws on impression management and communication privacy management theory to analyze these objectives. To gain a profound insight into the complexities of parent-child perspectives related to sharenting, we conducted three focus group interviews with children, adolescents, and parents, alongside a workshop with five parents and their children. The findings show that the quality and quantity of content, as well as parents sharing without consent, are the main causes of tensions. In order to control their digital identities, children and adolescents wish to be asked for consent, while their parents do not always understand the importance of this. Finally, the article discusses children’s and adolescents’ suggestions on how to improve parents’ sharenting practices to ensure a better digital everyday life.

Shipping, a play on relationship, is a novel, yet ambiguous, social media practice. Shipping is a practice of playful, romantic pairing of peers on social media platforms, typically on anonymous accounts. At times, shipping is illicit, particularly when pictures are shared without consent. Research on shipping is scarce despite its legal, privacy and datafication issues, and the potential of ensuing bullying. This article seeks to understand why and how young people in Norway dis/engage in shipping as a practice. Theoretically, the article draws on meaning, competence and material as the three elements of social practice theory and how identity performances focus on enactments of age and gender. Empirically, the article builds on 37 semi-structured interviews with 29 early adolescents aged 10–13 about their everyday digital lives in Oslo. The findings suggest that early adolescents dis/engage based on consideration of the meaning of shipping for their social relations, exploring romance, entertainment and play. Young people in the study share peer group norms centered around consent and social closeness. At times, some of them test and transgress social and legal boundaries, leading to issues of privacy, choice, and bullying, and raising questions about teachers’ involvement. Shipping is ambivalent as it can create a sense of belonging yet also lead to feelings of exclusion.

Neoliberalism has been described as the most successful ideology in world history (Anders-son 2000). This has, in turn, impacted the modern media by dumbing down its public interest role, through cultivating concentrated media ownership patterns, which has produced hyper-commercial and elitist-driven content. This paper has the broad aim of provoking discussions and debates both for the Global South and Global North geospatial locations grappling with these neoliberal consequences, by considering what systemic alternative(s) to capitalist me-dia can be considered. It specifically explores the return of the anti-capitalist alternative media to South Africa’s print media terrain to function in a developmental role. With the aim to dilute the neoliberal capitalist nature of its media that has effectively perpetuated the dominance of the elite class at the expense of citizen-oriented and public interest imperatives (Govenden 2022). It furthers this argument by also comparatively drawing on two BRICS country case studies from Asia i.e. China and India.

Abstract In examining visa-waiver agreements, previous studies have primarily focused on economic motivations and effects. In this article, we explore the potential political motivations and consequences. Particularly, we propose that there is a positive relationship between visa-waivers and democracy. We test this using a global dataset that records bilateral travel visa requirements for all countries between 1973 and 2013. We find support for our main hypothesis. We also examine the relationship between democracy, visa waivers and economic development. Contrary to our expectations, we find that democracy continues to exert influence on visa waivers even at high levels of income. Non-democracies fail to attain visa waivers even when they are wealthy. Finally, we explore whether visa waivers could have an impact on individuals’ attitudes towards democracy. Using survey data from 18 Latin American countries, we find suggestive evidence that that visa-waivers can have a positive impact on individuals’ democratic attitudes. Taken together, the findings suggest that democracy and visa-waivers might have a mutually reinforcing relationship.

Abstract As migrant integration policies touch upon almost all spheres of citizens’ life, collaboration across policy levels as well as across policy domains is needed. Over time, a series of both policy and analytical paradigms on the integration of migrants emerged, going from the traditional ideas of differentialism and assimilation, over multiculturalism, interculturalism, integrationism, liberal egalitarianism and mainstreaming, up to superdiversity and intersectionality. While networks for integration policies are likely to be at least partly driven by these paradigms, recent studies seem to nuance this assumption based on so called paradigmatic pragmatism, meaning that cities draw on a variety of ideas and pragmatically combine them under the header of diversity policies. The need for multi-level and multi-actor governance on migrant integration, the theoretical knowledge about homophily in organizational networks, and the recent findings on paradigmatic pragmatism, raise the question to what extent collaboration between public and non-profit organizations active around migrant integration is based on a shared policy paradigm on the integration of migrants. This question is answered based on a multiple case study of four central cities in Flanders (Belgium), covering 1.403 organizations. In the quantitative and qualitative (social network) analyses, comparisons along both the axes of cities and policy domains are made. Findings contribute to literature on organizational homophily, showing that clustering of organizations is likely to be at least partly driven by policy paradigm on integration. This is however nuanced by the observation that policy paradigms appear to be ambiguous, which in turn reveals opportunities for more flexible collaborations between actors and for avoiding deadlocks in policy making.

Numerous young individuals with various clinical diagnoses and disabilities utilise social media and its aesthetic features to amplify their voices and highlight issues related to disabilities. Like other users of social media, young people with disabilities adapt to the genre conventions of the platforms and discuss significant topics, such as apprehensions about hospitals and societal prejudices linked to disabilities. This article scrutinises the utilisation of social media by young people with disabilities to ascertain how they portray themselves on platforms that have frequently faced criticism for perpetuating not only unhealthy body images but predominantly able-bodied ideals as well. The analysis indicates that young individuals consistently contemplate their portrayal on social media and deliberate over what they reveal and to what extent. Concurrently, they purposefully employ social media to challenge prejudice and stigma, both of which they routinely encounter.

Abstract Amidst the persistent urban expansion in European cities, the need for high-quality housing for growing populations remains a challenge. Integrating newly developed housing areas into the urban fabric and fostering a distinct local identity pose additional challenges. Despite extensive research in this realm, there exists a gap in the examination of the extent of shared space utilization in new housing developments. This study fills that gap by analyzing the quantity, quality, and diversity of space utilization in new housing projects, focusing on the development processes and maintenance methods. The research, conducted through site and case study analyses of Sonnwendviertel Ost development area in Vienna, underscores that the shared utilization of spaces is closely tied to distinct housing models with varied levels of financing and involvement of diverse actors. Consequently, it provides insights into the housing models and their configurations that best facilitate the development of shared use of spaces in housing construction. This, in turn, is perceived as instrumental in cultivating a more robust neighborhood identity and enhancing the livability of communities, thereby contributing to sustainable urban development.

Abstract As images of international mobility circulate quickly and widely through digital and social media, they form a fundamental part of the discursive formations around border policies and material migration practices. Through a multi-modal visual analysis of the Twitter images accompanying the post of the four major migration institutions in the EU and Canada, this article explores in a comparative perspective how their visual narratives interact with the broader migration narrative across the two contexts. The study findings show that EUAA, FRONTEX, CBSA, and IRCC participate in the border spectacle as leading actors, and their visual communication while allows them to reinforce some of their respective migration governance key messages and display their multiple organizational identities at the same time enables the concealment of some of the critical themes of the EU and Canada migration governance.

Abstract The concept of happiness is becoming an increasingly significant area of focus in the evaluation of overall quality of life. This research examines the impact of migration on the well-being of women who remain in their place of residence following the migration of their family members. The study employs data from the Multiple Indicators Cluster Survey (2017–2018) in Punjab, Pakistan, and addresses sample selection bias through Propensity Score Matching (PSM). Moreover, as the dependent variable is ordinal, the study employed ordered logistic regression to examine the correlation between migration and happiness, taking into account migration status and other variables. The findings indicate that women from migrant backgrounds tend to benefit from migrating, primarily in terms of enhanced financial resources. In order to gain insight into the varying effects of migration on women’s happiness, the study employed heterogeneity analysis, which revealed that the influence of migration on women’s happiness differs across various areas. In conclusion, the combination of propensity score matching (PSM) with ordered logistic regression and heterogeneity analysis represents a robust methodology for evaluating the impact of migration on women’s perceptions of happiness. The study demonstrates that migration has the potential to improve the quality of life of women who remain in their home countries, particularly those residing in financially disadvantaged households.

Abstract This paper focusses on the complex relationship between vacancy, temporary responses and uncertainty during turbulent times by analysing how a selection of cities—New York City, São Paulo, Milan, Moscow, Abu Dhabi, Esfahan, Karachi, Mumbai and Jakarta—addressed testing, treating, isolating and vaccinating the public in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. These highly visible spatial responses offer immediate, pragmatic answers to unexpected conditions and, we argue, allow a more nuanced understanding of how planning might leverage flexibility and adaptability in a (post-)pandemic world.

Abstract Implementation gaps in the areas of naturalization and immigrant regularization emerge through a mismatch between the documents a residence country requires, and the documents that refugees and migrants can realistically provide. Those caught in this gap may live undocumented or risk statelessness. Residence countries can close such paperwork gaps by adapting legal interpretations and easing administrative requirements. When Colombia faced large-scale international displacement from Venezuela, state actors identified documentation-based implementation gaps in its nationality law and regularization procedures; they then took an innovative – yet not faultless – approach by adapting its citizenship and immigration regimes to accommodate displaced Venezuelans. These changes strengthened access to essential rights and increased the well-being of many. In this article, we develop the concepts of paperwork gaps and paper bridges and discuss the actors, impact, and limitations of Colombia’s policy innovations in the areas of nationality by birth, naturalization, and regularization based on research conducted from 2020 to 2023. The study advances the literature on government learning regarding policies within citizenship and immigration regimes that target internationally displaced populations.

Abstract Solar energy has become a prominent and crucial source of clean energy due to the increasing global demand for electricity. There is a prevailing global trend towards the construction of solar farms as a means of energy generation. This study aims to assess multiple criteria encompassing urban, environmental, and social aspects in order to ascertain the optimal site for constructing solar farms. The evaluation primarily focuses on characteristics such as topography, solar radiation, accessibility, land use, and proximity to roads and power stations. In order to acquire the necessary spatial fit model, the data was evaluated utilizing a Geographic Information System (GIS) program, and the criteria were subsequently consolidated into an integrated geographic information system. A comprehensive review of the existing body of literature reveals that environmental factors, specifically solar radiation and aspect, play a crucial role in determining the suitable places for the establishment of solar energy collection projects (Merrouni et al. in Energy Procedia 49:2270-2279, 2013; McKinney in J Student Res Environ Sci Appalac 4:1-14, 2014). Furthermore, other analysis factors such as proximity to built-up regions, closeness to power lines, and proximity to roadways are taken into account (Hott et al. in GIS-based Spatial Analysis For LargeScale Solar Power And Transmission Line Issues: Case Study of Wyoming, U.S. In: Proceedings of the 41st American Solar Energy Society Meeting, 2012; Effat in Int J Adv Remote Sens GIS 2:205-220, 2013). These criteria have an impact on the cost of solar farms. The objective of this study was to assess several aspects influencing the selection of an optimal location for a solar energy farm, taking into consideration the aforementioned criteria. The study was carried out in New Aswan city, utilizing data obtained from the Urban Planning Authority within the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, as well as the New Aswan City AuthorityI generated cartographic representations and compiled quantitative data, which informed our selection of places that met the established criteria through the utilization of a Geographic Information System (GIS) software. Upon the conclusion of the study, numerous locations that satisfied the established criteria were selected. The present study focuses on regions with high capacity, and the findings are depicted in the form of spatial and objective maps. One of the primary benefits associated with the utilization of this methodology lies in its versatility, as it can be implemented across several domains. Furthermore, a straightforward adjustment of the criteria facilitates its application in the selection of optimal locations for wind farms.

Abstract Migration forecasts are crucial for proactive immigration and integration management. While the demand for accurate migration forecasts continues to grow, the current state of migration forecasting is still unsatisfactory, because they tend to lack precision. We introduce an alternative method to forecast migration movements: prediction markets. While prediction markets are mainly unknown in migration studies, they are established in the political economy of forecasting election outcomes. For its application to a complex phenomenon in a more constrained information environment such as migration movements, we argue that prediction markets allow to balance complementarities of current qualitative and quantitative approaches if they provide solutions to avoid thin trading and integrate expert knowledge into the market. We apply the prediction market to forecast immigration in four West European countries in 2020 and find encouraging results. We discuss the strengths and limitations of prediction markets to migration forecasting, including ethical considerations, and guide its future application.

Abstract Resettlement to a third country offers a durable solution for refugees who cannot integrate into their asylum or transit countries. While most studies focus on the experiences of refugees after their arrival in resettlement countries or on the political aspects of resettlement, fewer studies explore refugees’ perspectives prior to resettlement. This paper examines how Rohingyas in Malaysia view their resettlement opportunities. We collected qualitative micronarratives from 56 adult Rohingyas living in Malaysia between March and September 2019, to explore the complexities of their decision-making processes. The findings indicate that most Rohingyas aspire to resettle in another country to gain legal status or citizenship, providing a better future for their children, including access to education and healthcare. However, preferences among Rohingyas vary: while some are eager to resettle, others express a strong desire to return to their home country in Myanmar. Still, others wish to reunite with family in Myanmar or Bangladesh, and a significant minority are reluctant to resettle in non-Islamic countries, reflecting broader concerns about cultural and religious compatibility. This study highlights the varied resettlement preferences among Rohingyas, underscoring the need for resettlement policies to consider these diverse priorities to enhance the effectiveness of resettlement programs.

Samfunnsstraff er en viktig arena for forebygging av gjentakelse av kriminalitet hos unge domfelte i Norge. Gjennom kvalitative, semistrukturerte intervjuer med seks unge domfelte belyser vi hvordan de opplevde å gjennomføre samfunnsstraff. I vår tematiske analyse av intervjuene kom vi frem til tre temaer. I det første temaet, Samfunnsstraff som en «reality check», viser vi hvordan samfunnsstraffen fikk intervjudeltakerne til å bli mer bevisste på sitt ansvar for å unngå kriminalitet i fremtiden. I det andre temaet, Betydningen av å bli møtt med likeverd og respekt, ser vi hvordan deltakerne fortalte om en tillitsfull relasjon med sin kontaktperson hos Friomsorgen. De vektla i tillegg viktigheten av å bli møtt med likeverd og gjensidig respekt fra offentlige instanser for å ha tillit til systemet. I det siste temaet, Tiltakenes potensial for mening og selvrefleksjon, viser vi hvordan deltakerne opplevde selve innholdet i straffen. Spesielt ble kurs og tiltak rettet mot selvrefleksjon og arbeid med mennesker beskrevet som meningsfulle. Vi drøfter disse funnene i lys av det samfunnspsykologiske rammeverket mattering: viktigheten av å bety noe. Våre funn viser hvordan samfunnsstraffen kunne være en kontekst som la til rette for at unge domfelte kunne oppleve de to komponentene av mattering: å bli verdsatt og å bidra med verdi. Vi argumenterer for at en slik tilnærming kan bidra positivt i arbeid med unge domfelte, og drøfter funnene i lys av tidligere forskning på unge menneskers prosesser med å avstå fra kriminalitet.

Abstract This research delves into the evolution of Istanbul’s urban agenda, which has become increasingly intricate due to recent challenges. The city's planning paradigm has undergone a discernible shift, with heightened attention concerns like seismic resilience, sustainability, and the climate-change. The planning projections for the city have experienced significant changes, by the earthquakes 1999 and 2023, climate-change, and the pandemic in 2020. Although the pandemic is considered temporary, it has significant in bringing sustainable matters like living airier, greener areas, back to the city planning. In response to the latest challenges, particularly the earthquake, the city confronted an ecological dilemma, prompting proposal to relocate new housing areas to the Northern-forest. The city's northern development axis, planned a century ago by the French architect-urbanist Henri Prost, is being questioned today end to its limits for green-areas. Based on ongoing global discussion, on academical circles on the imperative, the historic city of Istanbul grapples with the contemporary problems sustainability and seismic considerations in its future planning endeavors. This study engages in discursive analyses while concurrently offering practical recommendations to address sustainability through the development of specific zoning arrangements focuses on dual research axis urban-based, and housing-based, laws, and regulations, also housing model, and typologies as missing part of the previous research. This study principally examines this problematic via zoning practices of Istanbul in the Henri Prost period from housing areas to the housing models and typologies. Also, globally, along with the new zoning, the old zoning laws, and regulations can be bring the agenda again in the context of sustainability to promote a balanced relationship between human, nature and sustainability goals. In conclusion, amid the recent challenges in the city, innovative suggestions for advanced zoning applications in pursuit of sustainability reveal a notable gap in the protection of green-areas, planning new settlements. Henri Prost’s master plans stand out for employing distinctive zoning techniques for each district, also offering specific housing models and typologies. Extending this methodology to green-areas presents a bridge the existing void. By presented potential case scenarios at the end of the study emphasizing the merits of integrating historical zoning practices into contemporary planning, it aims to stimulate discussions on holistic and forward-looking urban development strategies.

Abstract Extant literature shows that well-being is one of the key drivers of attitudes towards migrants as well as preferences for asylum and refugee policies. Less in is known, however, about the relationship between well-being and attitudes towards migrants during sudden micro-level events that may elicit the sense of existential threat. To investigate the underpinnings of these relationships, two studies on samples of 600 Slovaks each were conducted before the Russian invasion of Ukraine and during its initial phase. The results show that well-being had a stable positive relationship with attitudes towards migrants across the studies, albeit not with preferences for asylum and refugee policies. During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the negative feelings elicited by the war predicted preferences for asylum and refugee policies beyond well-being. The results indicate that incorporating psychological factors, such as emotional responses to the looming threat of war, may considerably inform the debate surrounding the support for inclusive asylum and refugee policies.

Abstract Engagement with institutions from migrants’ country of origin, both in the destination country and in the country of origin, is distinct transnational behaviour. This study investigates the impact of geographical distance on the institutional engagement of migrants from Czechia in five global regions. We examine how geographic (physical) proximity to Czechia shapes institutional engagement with the country of origin and identify factors beyond distance influencing institutional engagement. We analyzed survey data from Czech emigrants (N = 940) in neighbouring countries, Western and Northern Europe, Southern and Eastern Europe, overseas Anglo-Saxon countries, and other countries. We found that respondents from all more distant regions have higher levels of institutional engagement in the destination country than those from neighbouring countries. Length of stay and education were relevant factors for all selected regions, while place of residence (living in a metropolis) and the level of transnational behavior had varying impacts across regions. Concerning institutional engagement in origin country, the level of transnationalism was consistently the strongest predictor across. Transnational studies should incorporate geographic variables, such as physical distance into their conceptual frameworks. We expect our findings to be generalizable to other countries similar to Czechia, i.e. high-income countries whose citizens benefit from liberal visa regimes.

Abstract This article recounts the stories of Afghan migrants who have returned from Iran to Afghanistan. I frame these accounts of ordinary Afghans’ life experiences as “narratives of pride,” juxtaposing these stories with narratives of victimhood that dominate the immigration discourse on Afghanistan and more generally. In these narratives, migrants are predominantly characterized as victims in need of being saved. This article instead asks: why do returnees from Iran focus mostly on the positive parts of their mobility while downplaying the difficulties of dealing with the Iranian state, which does not have a good track record of dealing with migrants? In telling stories of years of living and working in Iran or other countries, I find that my interlocutors characterize themselves as sophisticated men of the world with a deep understanding of social and political phenomena that give them the ability to navigate life in foreign lands—an image far from victimhood as it is commonly portrayed in the literature and media. The article argues that in order to better understand the agency of migrants, it is crucial to form long-term connections with them to gain a more nuanced understanding of their experiences, rather than simply reproducing stories of victimhood.

Abstract Recognizing the importance of evidence-based research in informing migration policies and empowering migrant domestic workers (MDWs), this study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of MDW research patterns and trends. Using a descriptive cross-sectional study design, research articles on MDWs were retrieved from the Scopus database. The findings reveal a substantial increase in research output in recent years, with notable contributions from journals in the fields of social sciences and humanities. Key contributors include scholars from the United States, the United Kingdom, and institutions such as the National University of Singapore and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Journals in the field of migration have prominent role in publishing research on MDWs. At the author level, Yeoh, B.S.A, at the National University of Singapore was the most prolific author. Academic activities were the main driver of research and that funding was suboptimal in this field. Highly cited articles focused on topics such as transnational motherhood, the international division of reproductive labor, and the negotiation of citizenship rights. Major research hotspots in the retrieved articles included mental health aspects, caregiving especially of the elderly, and struggles for legal rights. Specific nationalities, such as Filipina/o and Indonesian MDWs, have been the focus of numerous studies, shedding light on their narratives, challenges, and agency within transnational contexts. Overall, this study underscores the urgency of addressing the needs and rights of MDWs, advocate for human rights, and enhance understanding of occupational health and safety in the unique context of domestic work.

Abstract This paper examines how forced migrants integrate individual perception, interpersonal exchange, and extended networks to navigate the naturalization process. By bringing together these three methods of knowledge creation and exchange, we aim to clarify how these strategies interact and overlap to manage uncertainties stemming from naturalization bureaucracy, a complex and often opaque process. Drawing on personal accounts of 30 Syrians in Berlin and analysis of approximately 100 social media posts, our findings illustrate that these methods could be employed concurrently or interchangeably and on the whole in a symbiotic manner, offering migrants multiple pathways to acquire and (in)validate crucial information. Although this synthesis of knowledge production methods is not necessarily conducive to accessing the right in question, in our case naturalization, it becomes necessary to arrive at “informed” decision-making in uncertain environments characterized by low level of trust and asymmetrical power relations. The paper therefore contributes to broader discussions on migrants’ navigation of legal systems and coping mechanisms in the face of bureaucratic hurdles.

В статье анализируется распространенность различных паттернов интернет-аддиктивного поведения в сравнительном аспекте среди студенческой молодежи г. Кызыла и г. Красноярска. Выводы исследования базируются на основе анализа результатов тестирования студентов двух городов. Обследование проводилось методом случайной выборки в период с сентября 2022 г. по май 2023 г. и охватило 993 респондента обоего пола, заполнивших опросник Chen Internet addiction Scale (CIAS) в адаптации В. Л. Малыгина и К. А. Феклисова. Представлен сравнительный анализ частоты различных паттернов и выраженности симптомов интернет-аддиктивного поведения в группах, различающихся по месту проживания, этнической принадлежности (тувинцы, русские) и полу. Установлено, что среди студенческой молодежи г. Кызыла чаще встречались лица, имеющие выраженный и устойчивый паттерн интернет-аддиктивного поведения в сравнении со студентами г. Красноярска: 11,9 vs 7,9%. Особое внимание уделено вопросу о влиянии этнической принадлежности на формирование интернет-аддиктивного поведения у студенческой молодежи г. Кызыла. Этническими особенностями была большая частота выраженного и устойчивого паттерна интернет- аддиктивного поведения у тувинских студентов г. Кызыла в сравнении с русскими студентами: 12,4 vs 10,9%. Гендерные различия включали большую встречаемость интернет-аддикции среди тувинских девушек — 14,4% в сравнении с тувинскими юношами — 8,6% и русскими девушками — 12,7%.

В статье представлен анализ современного состояния жанров фольклора гайнинских башкир Бардымского района Пермского края. Авторы опирались на материалы проведенной экспедиции в данный район в 2023 г., а выявление степени сохранности местного фольклорного материала осуществляли путем сравнения с результатами экспедиций ученых-предшественников в 1963, 2006, 2013 гг. В ходе анализа установлено, что крупные эпические произведения исчезли из обихода уже к началу текущего столетия. Было записано единственное эпическое предание о родоначальниках гайнинцев — братьях Айна и Гайна. Оно является, по мнению авторов, частью древнего башкирского эпоса. Его варианты были ранее записаны и включены в научные сборники, предположение о котором уже имеется в научной литературе. Песенный фольклор, также доминировавший в прошлом веке, характеризуется угасанием жанров протяжной песни оҙон көй и баитов. В настоящее время фиксируются в основном только короткие песни и частушки. Широкое распространение в нынешней гайнинской среде имеют мунажаты — религиозные песнопения. Самыми распространенными остаются малые жанры фольклора (пословицы, поговорки, приметы, благопожелания).

В статье анализируется структура психологических проблем у подростков с разными видами онлайн-поведения, проживающих в Республике Тыва. Эмпирической базой исследования являются результаты психологического опроса, проведенного авторами в апреле — мае 2022 г. и в апреле — мае 2023 г. в республике. Было обследовано 265 чел. (173 тувинцев и 92 русских). Диагностическим инструментарием для исследований выступает скрининговый вопросник «Сильные стороны и трудности» Р. Гудмана (Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), R. Goodman). Для всех обследованных подростков установлено увеличение психологических проблем по мере нарастания нежелательных признаков интернет-зависимости. Выявлены доминирующие психологические проблемы у подростков с одинаковыми вариантами онлайн-поведения в зависимости от этнической принадлежности, гендерных и возрастных различий. Преобладающими психологическими проблемами у подростков-тувинцев служат проблемы общения со сверстниками (23,1–42,4%). Психологическими проблемами возрастного плана у них выступают также проблемы общения со сверстниками (в 2,0–2,5 раза чаще, 36,6–43,2%) в группах подростков 12–14 лет с адаптивным и неадаптивным пользованием интернетом. При дифференциации по полу не лучшие показатели демонстрируют девочки с неадаптивным пользованием интернетом в сравнении с мальчиками этой же группы: эмоциональные расстройства в 2,2 раза чаще (39,1%) и проблемы общения со сверстниками в 2,1 раза чаще (43,4%). Для русских подростков с неадаптивным пользованием интернетом свойственны проблемы общения со сверстниками (27,9%), общие психологические проблемы (25,5%) и трудности адаптации (20,9%).

В основе статьи лежит хронологический обзор работы автора (продюсера, этномузыковеда) с музыкантами из Тувы в 1990-е годы. Он организовывал концерты через Paradox Concerts с 1978 по 2003 гг. За это время было организовано более 500 концертных туров, в общей сложности более 5000 концертов. В 1990-е годы автор познакомил с творчеством тувинских музыкантов слушателей из 13 стран на пяти континентах. В общей сложности было проведено более 200 мероприятий: концерты, фестивали, мастер-классы, образовательные программы для школ, прямое радио, прямое телевидение, производство компакт-дисков, современная опера (Ноах), современная балет («Аврора»), совместные мультимедийные проекты с музыкантами разных культур (Vox, Voices of God, Globe Orchestra), интервью, университетские исследовательские программы (Лейден, Амстердам, Монреаль) и студийные записи для компакт-дисков и/или радио.

В статье анализируются наименования святых топонимов Тувы, под которыми понимаются топонимы мест, природных объектов, которые почитаются тувинцами как святые, обладающие особой силой. Часть из них прямо содержит терминологию святости, но есть и такие, в названиях которых не присутствуют такие термины, однако, в них есть и другие термины, косвенно означающие определенное ценностное отношение. Источниковой базой исследования послужили географические наименования некоторых святых топонимов, информация, полученная от жителей — информантов, собранных автором в научных экспедициях на территории Республики Тыва, личные воспоминания о жизни старшего поколения семьи автора — уроженки с. Дон-Терезин Барун-Хемчикского района. При анализе наименований рассмотрены следующие лексико-семантические группы: наименования святых источников, рек и озер, наименования святых перевалов и курганов, наименования святых стойбищ, наименования святых лесных угодий. В каждой группе даны примеры, приведены пояснения местных жителей, особенности характеристики мест.

В статье представлен анализ концепта калмыцкой культуры «ясн» ‘род’. Показано, что представления о родстве имеют разнообразные средства обозначения в калмыцком языке. Номинативное поле концепта включает лексемы «әңг», «әәмг», «ясн», «отг», «тохм», «арвн». Понятийное содержание концепта «ясн» ‘род’: ‘люди одного корня’, ‘одной кости’, ‘одной крови’. Род прерывается на детях дочери, может прерваться из-за проклятия; продолжателем рода является сын. Образный компонент концепта осмысливается через человека: выделяются люди родовитые, с хорошей родословной, безродные. Аксиологическая составляющая определяет нормы поведения и принципы общения внутри и за пределами рода, обеспечивая преемственность культурных и социальных норм. Поддерживать представителей своего рода — важный принцип поведения калмыков. Для калмыков люди одного рода ассоциируются со своими, а другого — чужими людьми.

The article discusses the issue of compiling large grammatical works, including academic grammars. In particular, answers are sought for such questions as the following: What is the scientific character (style) of compiling fundamental grammatical works? What should their scientific apparatus, their design and structure look like? What research methods should be used? What is their target audience? In order to achieve this purpose, we carried out a comparison of academic grammars originating in the Soviet Union and those fundamental, voluminous grammatical works compiled according to the European-American model. The experience of compiling grammatical editions in Turkic languages has also been taken into account. The ideas obtained as a result were used in compiling the next academic grammar of the Kazakh language. This article was written with the objective of sharing the experience and elaborating on the results of the comparison. It has been found out that fundamental grammatical works have their own scientific character (this concerns the Soviet school): academic grammars are written on the normative and descriptive basis, i.e. scientific descriptions must be accompanied by a normative differentiation. The structure is directly linked to the levels of language which the editorial board have chosen as the object of study (lexis, phonetics, word building, morphology and syntax). There are consistency and moderation in designing grammatical works as well. Research material and examples are taken from literary samples. These principles are based on the fact that academic grammars are oriented to scientific and educational community. At the same time, as European and American fundamental grammars are compiled for the general scientific community, the aforementioned academic principles may not be followed. Since fundamental grammatical works are not compiled very often (once in 20–30 years), such studies are not frequent either. The grammars created in the Soviet period have not been revised fully yet. It is specifically important to revise academic grammars, as they need to document and standardize the new knowledge in the field of language. The issue of revising the academic grammar of the Kazakh language has been brought into the spotlight, and in 2022, the new generation of the grammar was prepared. For this reason, the conclusions of the article and the experience obtained while developing the new generation of the “Kazakh Grammar” may become useful while compiling new fundamental grammatical works.

В статье анализируются распространенность и структура болей в спине (дорсалгий) у подростков и молодежи, проживающих на территории Республики Тыва. Проблема связывается с особенностями онлайн-поведения и потребляемым интернет-контентом. Неспецифическая боль в спине является актуальной и распространенной проблемой здоровья среди подростково-молодежных популяций многих стран мира. Значимость данной проблемы обусловлена частой коморбидностью болей в спине (различных отделах позвоночника) с патологическим пользованием интернетом. Выводы исследования основаны на анализе результатов онлайн- тестирования тувинских подростков и молодежи. Обследования проводились методом случайной выборки в период с января 2023 г. по январь 2024 г. Было охвачено 2853 чел., заполнивших скрининговую анкету и три психометрических инструмента (шкала интернет-зависимости CIAS), опросники для верификации зависимости от социальных сетей и игровой зависимости, зависимости от смартфона. Представлен сравнительный анализ показателей онлайн-поведения и интернет-контента в группах, различающихся по полу, этнической принадлежности (тувинцы, русские) и наличию дорсалгий. Выявлена большая частота встречаемости патологического (21,6% и 8,8%) и неадаптивного (50,7% и 41,8%) пользования интернетом у лиц с дорсалгиями, чем с их отсутствием. Аналогичной была направленность изменений данных показателей среди тувинцев и русских с наличием и отсутствием дорсалгий. Как русские, так и представители тувинского этноса, с дорсалгиями различной локализации, отличались большей частотой таких видов интернет-контента, как зависимость от компьютерных игр, социальных сетей, смешанной интернет-зависимостью, а тувинцы с болями в спине чаще русских сверстников характеризовались недифференцированной интернет-зависимостью и зависимостью от смартфона. В группах с дорсалгиями и без дорсалгий значимых гендерных различий анализируемых показателей не выявлено.

В статье анализируются типы структур репрезентаций тувинского языка и тувинской культуры в обыденных представлениях этнических тувинцев, выявляются центральные и периферийные репрезентации в структуре, степень их связанности, наличие кластеров репрезентаций. Эмпирическая часть исследования проводилась в 2022 и 2024 гг. в Тувинском государственном университете, в нем приняли участие более 70 респондентов (этнических тувинцев) в возрасте от 18 до 30 лет. Инструментом исследования послужила комплексная качественно-количественная методика анализа репрезентаций, включающая методы получения нарративов о языке и культуре при помощи эссе, анкетирование, блок математических методов, а также методы анализа и интерпретации. Выявлено, что структуры репрезентаций тувинского языка и тувинской культуры имеют ряд существенных отличий. Поле «Тувинская культура» хорошо структурировано, в нем четко выделяется ядро, центр и периферия, а все элементы связаны друг с другом. В структурно-семантическом плане ведущим механизмом является гипонимия. Поле «Тувинский язык» представляет собой слабо организованную атомарную структуру, в которой ведущий тип семантических связей — метафора и атрибутивные оценочные конструкции. Вместе с тем, тувинский язык и тувинская культура в определенном смысле находятся в дополнительном функциональном распределении, поскольку одна из основных функций тувинского языка — это обеспечение связи поколений, то есть сохранение тувинцев как этноса, а основная функция культуры — поддержание горизонтальных связей в обществе, то есть сохранение тувинцев как социума.

В статье анализируется распространенность и структуры одного из наиболее частых видов функциональных соматических расстройств — рецидивирующей головной боли (РГБ) в подростково-юношеской популяции — жителей Республики Тыва, оценке роли дезадаптивного онлайн-поведения и компонентов потребляемого интернет-контента как вероятных факторов риска РГБ у подростков и молодежи Тувы. Авторы анализировали у подростков и молодежи Тувы разного пола, возраста и этноса информативную значимость различных вариантов пользования интернетом: адаптивного (АПИ), неадаптивного (НПИ) и патологического (ППИ, или интернет-зависимости — ИЗ), смешанной и недифференцированной формы ППИ, а также специфических форм ППИ (проблемного использования компьютерных игр, социальных сетей, смартфонов) Источником анализа выступили результаты онлайн-тестирования случайных выборок лиц подростково-юношеского возраста (2772 чел.) с использованием Google Forms скрининговой анкеты и психометрических опросников для верификации вида онлайн-поведения и компонентов интернет-контента. Информативная значимость показателей в качестве вероятных факторов риска РГБ оценивалась по показателям отношения шансов и их доверительных интервалов. Определен большой перечень факторов риска РГБ, обусловленных дезадаптивным онлайн-поведением, в том числе — с учетом пола, возрастной группы и этнической принадлежности обследованных. Наиболее значимыми факторами высокого уровня риска развития РГБ у девочек было ППИ и дезадаптивное (ППИ+НПИ) пользование интернетом, у мальчиков — проблемное использование смартфона. Для возрастной группы 12–14 лет наиболее значимыми факторами риска РГБ были НПИ, ППИ, ДПИ, зависимость от социальных сетей и недифференцированная форма ППИ, для лиц 15–18 лет — ППИ, смешанная форма ППИ, проблемное использование социальных сетей и смартфона. Значимыми факторами риска для обследованных тувинцев (без учета возраста и пола) были ППИ и проблемное использование смартфона, для русских — проблемное использование компьютерных игр. Вероятность развития РГБ у подростков и лиц молодого возраста Тувы (в случае оценки этого риска для всей группы, включенных в обследование лиц, без учета их возрастно-половой и этнической принадлежности) обуславливается такими особенностями их онлайн-поведения, как проблемное использование смартфона и социальных сетей.

В статье анализируются проблемы психоэмоционального состояния подростков и молодежи Республики Тыва, которые различаются видами пользования интернетом: адаптивным, неадаптивным и патологическим. Эмпирической базой исследования стали результаты он-лайн тестирования, проводившегося методом случайной выборки в 2023 г. (1028 чел.: 76 русских и 952 тувинцев). Для оценки психоэмоционального состояния лиц, включенных в исследование, использовался Симптоматический опросник SCL-90-R, нацеленный на выявление девяти симптоматических конструктов. Анализируются показатели трех из них: тревожности, депрессивности и соматизации, отражающей дистресс, возникающий из ощущения телесной дисфункции. Представлен сравнительный анализ показателей в группах, различающихся по онлайн-поведению и этнической принадлежности. Установлено, что для русской части выборки, независимо от варианта онлайн-поведения, характерен более высокий уровень соматизации (у 28,9% русских и 24,4% тувинцев), депрессивности (20% и 11,9%) и тревожности (25,4% и 12,1%). Выявлены различия у представителей сравниваемых этнических групп с одинаковым онлайн-поведением. Как среди русских, так и среди тувинцев с патологическим вариантом пользования сети Интернет, чаще встречаются выраженные уровни соматизации, тревожности и депрессии. Этнические различия проявились в большей численности лиц с высоким уровнем соматизации и депрессии в группе русских с адаптивным онлайн-поведением в сравнении со сверстниками-тувинцами с аналогичным типом поведения. Высоким уровнем тревожности чаще характеризовались русские подростки и лица молодого возраста с патологическим вариантом пользования сети Интернет (71,4% и 28,6%).

В статье анализируется повесть современного казахстанского писателя Ермека Турсунова «Келин». Проблематика повести обращена к истокам бытия тюркских народов. Художественная онтология произведения отражает древнетюркские мифологические представления о мироустройстве. Мир повести включает зооморфные и космические образы, которые имитируют сюжеты и эпизоды древнетюркской мифологии. Земной мир и инобытие образуют единство. Зооморфные и космические образы воплощают определенные стороны мироустройства. Продукты и предметы так же несут определенные мифологические смыслы. Немногочисленные образы героев помещены в мифологически осмысленное пространство. Каждый герой олицетворяют одну из базовых функций: продолжательницы рода, пастуха, охотника, мастера, хранительницы очага и баксы, поддерживающей связь земного мира с инобытием. Среди мифологически осмысленных зооморфных образов выделяется образ тотемного животного (волчицы), которая фигурирует в генеалогическом мифе в качестве праматери тюркских народов. Мифологические контексты, воссозданные в повести, усиливают аллегорический план произведения. Жанровая поэтика произведения характеризуется редуцированными общественно-социальными реалиями, доминированием мифологического и условного начала. Идея непрерывности рода образует основу смыслового пространства повести.

В статье анализируются особенности потребляемого интернет-контента (игровой, социально-сетевой, смешанной и недифференцированной интернет-аддикции) в сравнительном аспекте среди студенческой молодежи г. Кызыла и г. Красноярска с различной половой и этнической принадлежностью. Материалами анализа выступили результаты тестирования студентов методом случайной выборки в сентябре 2022 — мае 2023 г. и охватило 977 респондентов. Установлено, что среди студенческой молодежи г. Кызыла чаще встречались лица, имеющие зависимость по всем вышеперечисленным формам интернет-аддикции. Особое внимание уделено вопросу о влиянии этнической принадлежности на формирование различных форм интернет-аддикции у студенческой молодежи г. Кызыла. К этническим особенностям можно отнести наличие большей частоты различных форм потребляемого интернет-контента, включавшего: игровую (11,1% vs 10,2%), социально-сетевую (9,2% vs 6,4%) и недифференцированную (12,3% vs 10,6%) интернет-зависимость среди студентов тувинской национальности в сравнении с русскими студентами. Установлены различия по полу распространенности различных видов интернет-аддикции: игровой и смешанной выше у тувинцев-юношей, социально-сетевой и недифференцированной выше у девушек-тувинок.

At the beginning of the research, we proposed the goal of studying the modern trends in physical education at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology through analysis and comparative assessments. As a result of the study, it was observed that comprehensive education in England, sports education using technical and technological advances in Australia, sports teaching for happiness in Japan and China and skills education and physical education in Mongolia are the dominant teaching approaches. In the course of the analysis, it has been found out that there is a lack of attitude towards physical education in Mongolia, and we have determined the extent to which it has been effective through a test study. One of the main goals of our work is to study the issue of physical development of the Mongolian youth in years past. The article presents the results of the unprecedented physical development test of the first-year students enrolled in the Mongolian University of Science and Technology from 2008 to 2018. We used the “Test to Determine the Level of Physical Development and Fitness of the Population”. Actually, this test named after the President of Mongolia Mr. Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj has been implemented at the national level. During the test, height, weight, speed, strength, flexibility and endurance of students were studied by the movement test method. The test was evaluated according to the approved methodologyю. And as a result, we used quantitative and statistical research methods, performed reliability and statistical tests for each questionnaire and data obtained and analyzed the correlation of factors. If we look at physical development levels of all students, there were 14 percent with poor results and 44 percent with insufficient ones. The physical development of the majority of participants (58 percent) was rated below the sufficient level (17 points) that a person of that age should have. In terms of gender, 53 percent of male students and 65 percent of female students had insufficient physical development. According to the data of a sociological questionnaire survey of students participating in the test, 58.1 percent did not exercise or play sports. It was an interesting observation that coincided with the result that 58.0 percent of the test participants had insufficient physical development. According to our research, the majority of Mongolian students and young people had a low level of physical fitness, and one of every six students had weight problems. This may indicate that the approach to teaching skills development and physical education is somewhat ineffective. The theoretical and practical significance of the research is that the current situation regarding physical development of students and youth can be determined and the results can serve as a basis for making detailed policies and decisions for the development of physical activity and sports among young people. Today, students and youth are the most important segment of the population that drives the economy and human development of Mongolia, so it is important to cultivate a healthy and physically fit nation relying on the fact that physical activity and sports should be available for all people.

В статье исследуется влияние идей культурных иерархий (воображаемые низший — высший уровни) и травм постномадизма (трансформированной культуры пост-кочевого общества) на дискурс казахстанской интеллигенции, которая в ХХ веке начала искать историческую субъектность казахского народа. Авторы отмечают как седентаризм (система взглядов оседлого мира на кочевой) укоренился в идеологических приоритетах и диалектике нарративов поиска исторической субъектности казахстанского социума. Разрушение основ традиционного хозяйственно-культурного типа деятельности в результате насильственной коллективизации и седентаризации казахов в 1920–1930-х гг. продолжилось в научном и общественно-политическом дискурсе. Значительная часть казахстанской интеллигенции 1950–1970-х гг. производила исторические и культурные нарративы в рамках седентаристской традиции описания кочевой культуры как регрессивной. В то же время существовало и стремление преодолеть сформированную культурную травму «внеисторичности». Легитимной формой преодоления травмы в рамках обозначенной иерархии стало научное и идеологическое освоение археологического наследия оседло-земледельческой культуры на территории Казахской ССР. Одновременно некоторые представители нового поколения казахстанской интеллигенции (О. О. Сулейменов, М. М. Ауэзов, Н. Э. Масанов) осуществили научное и культурное вписывание исторической субъектности пост-номадов во всемирную историю цивилизации, не дистанцируясь от кочевого культурного наследия. Однако, спустя почти столетие, влияние седентаристских иерархий продолжает сохраняться в научных, общественных и даже официальных исторических нарративах XXI века.

В статье представлен обзор научных исследований влияния экранного времени на основные показатели состояния сердечно-сосудистой системы у детей. Рассматривались результаты публикаций, посвященные оценке влияния экранного времени на функциональное состояние сердечно-сосудистой системы и метаболизм у детей в разных регионах мира (опубликованные в период с 2018 по 1 марта 2024 г.). Анализ результатов исследований проведен с учетом географического расположения территорий. Получены данные о негативном влиянии экранного времени на факторы сердечно-сосудистого риска: отклонения пищевого поведения, укорочение сна, низкая физическая активность, повышение артериального давления и увеличение содержания атерогенных липидов в сыворотке крови детей. В популяции школьников монголоидной расы обнаружена корреляция между «проблемным» использованием экранных медиа и ожирением, более выраженная у мальчиков.

В статье представлен систематический обзор и анализ литературы, освещающей основные аспекты формирования интернет-зависимого поведения у лиц подростково-юношеского возраста. Рассмотрены российские и зарубежные публикации, включающие результаты исследований распространенности интернет-зависимости (ИЗ) 2010–2023 гг., оценки ее влияния на соматическое и нервно-психическое здоровье интернет-пользователей. Особое внимание в работе уделено эпидемиологическим, клинико-функциональным и нейробиологическим аспектам интернет-зависимого поведения в подростково-юношеских популяциях, влиянии данного вида расстройства и его специфических форм (зависимости от компьютерных игр, социальных сетей, смартфона) на соматическое и нервно-психическое здоровье интернет-зависимых пользователей. Констатирован значительный рост неконтролируемого пользования интернетом среди подростков и молодежи многих стран (особенно в период пандемии Covid-19), подчеркнуто значение ИЗ среди подростково-молодежных популяций как актуальной медико-социальной и психолого-педагогической проблемы. Продемонстрирована значительная вариабельность общей распространенности ИЗ в различных странах/регионах и ее взаимосвязь с возрастом, полом и этнической принадлежностью обследованных контингентов. Установлен факт изучения в большинстве исследований общей (генерализованной) ИЗ, без выделения ее специфических форм, что диктует необходимость детализации структуры ИЗ и определения влияния отдельных ее компонентов на здоровье молодых пользователей сети интернет. Отмечена малочисленность исследований распространенности ИЗ у подростков и молодежи городской и сельской местности, недостаточность внимания к этническим аспектам ИЗ, крайняя малочисленность исследований ИЗ в национальных республиках Российской Федерации. Подчеркнута относительная малочисленность и фрагментарность исследований по выявлению факторов риска ИЗ, определению информативной значимости и величине вклада большого числа показателей (медико-биологических, клинико-функциональных, метаболических и психосоциальных), как высоковероятных предикторов интернет-зависимого поведения. Сделан вывод о необходимости разработки единых методологических подходов при изучении эпидемиологических аспектов ИЗ, важности использования информативных международно-признанных тестовых опросников.

В статье анализируется одна из клинических форм первичной цефалгии (головной боли напряжения, ГБН) у подростков и молодежи Тувы, ее коморбидные ассоциации с различными видами онлайн-поведения и оценки их роли в качестве предикторов развития цефалгии. Актуальность работы обусловлена высокой распространенностью ГБН в подростково-молодежных популяциях многих стран, частой ассоциацией с дезадаптивными видами сетевого поведения и высоким риском хронического течения цефалгии в отсутствие своевременной диагностики и профилактики интернет-зависимого поведения у данной категории лиц. Целью исследования было изучение ассоциаций ГБН с различными видами пользования интернетом: адаптивным (АПИ), неадаптивным (НПИ), патологическим (ППИ) и особенностями потребляемого интернет-контента у подростков и молодежи Тувы разной возрастно-половой и этнической принадлежности. Анализ строился на материалах онлайн-тестирования подростков и молодежи, проведенного в Туве методом случайной выборки с января по сентябрь 2023 г. (2488 чел.). Представлен сравнительный анализ показателей во всей выборке обследованных, в группах, различающихся по полу и этнической принадлежности (тувинцы, русские). Установлена распространенность ГБН среди всех обследованных (14,2%) с преобладанием у русских (22,6 и 12,9%), у девочек (15,7 и 12,2%) и возрастной группе 15–18 лет (15,6, 13,6 и 4,5%). Выявлены тесные ассоциации ГБН с дезадаптивными видами онлайн-поведения (с ППИ и НПИ), смешанной и недифференцированной формой ППИ, с зависимостью от смартфона, компьютерных игр и социальных сетей. Установлена значимая роль данных показателей в качестве предикторов развития ГБН в группах обследованных с различной возрастно-половой и этнической принадлежностью.

В статье рассматриваются гендерные и пространственные аспекты межрегиональных образовательных миграций в России за период 2017–2019 годов. Особое внимание уделяется возрастным категориям 15–16 и 17–18 лет. Исследование выявляет тенденции привлекательности регионов для образовательных мигрантов, а также гендерные различия в выборе образовательного пути и последующей трудовой миграции. Результаты исследования показывают, что многие российские регионы, включая центральную Россию, Ростовскую и Свердловскую области, а также Красноярский и Хабаровский края, привлекательны для образовательной миграции. В то же время, Республика Татарстан и Приморский край несмотря на значительные инвестиции в образовательную инфраструктуру, оказались менее привлекательными. Гендерный анализ выявил, что женская образовательная миграция тяготеет к крупнейшим агломерациям и западным регионам, в то время как мужская миграция часто связана с военным образованием и службой. Отдельно отмечена ситуация в Республике Тыва, которая представляет собой уникальный кейс в контексте изучаемой тематики. В отличие от других регионов, где женская образовательная миграция часто является маловозвратной, в Туве наблюдается значительный возврат женщин в возрастной группе 19–25 лет. В статье предложен ряд рекомендаций для выравнивания гендерных дисбалансов, включая более равномерное распределение ресурсной ренты и инвестиции в диверсификацию экономики страны и регионов.

В статье анализируется коммуникативный потенциал эпистолярных текстов и его перспективы для лингводидактики — российской и казахстанской. В качестве материала выступают фрагменты частной переписки (1957–1984 гг.) тувинского ученого-филолога Д. А. Монгуша, адресованные казахстанскому коллеге А. С. Аманжолову. Подробно представлены содержимое семи документов, в том числе двух писем, четырех почтовых открыток, включая и описания конвертов, лицевых и обратных сторон открыток, и одной телеграммы. Тексты впервые вводятся в научный оборот. В статье обосновывается понятие «элитарная билингвальная личность» и приводятся аргументы в пользу отнесения созданных им русскоязычных текстов в категорию аутентичных. Такой подход рационален в процессе школьного обучения русскому языку и подготовки будущих учителей русского языка и литературы в условиях казахско-русской коммуникативной ситуации Казахстана, поскольку он не игнорирует традиционный подход, но расширяет лингводидактический инструментарий. Эпистолярные тексты Д. А. Монгуша, адресованные А. С. Аманжолову, имеют перспективы использования в качестве образцов эпистолярного жанра не только на практических школьных занятиях, но и дальнейших проектных исследований в вузовской аудитории, а также для восполнения неизвестных ранее знаний в истории тюркологической науки.

Abstract Studies on migration aspirations have provided fresh perspectives for two decades by focusing on the changing nature of aspirations, the aspirations-cap/abilities nexus, and by offering a counterpoint through the ‘aspirations to stay’. Building from these, this article proposes a model to explain the intensity and strength of (im)mobility aspirations, given that these can be strong and specific but also weak, mild, conditional, and even conflicting. To do so, I focus on the preferences to migrate or to stay by examining how the two dimensions of (im)mobility – the intrinsic and the instrumental – interact. I study the different emotions and thoughts attached to (im)mobility, how life and migration aspirations are intertwined, and the ways in which migration and stay aspirations can co-exist. In doing so, I differentiate between three ideal-type strengths of aspirations: harmonious, conflicting, and indeterminate aspirations. Harmonious aspirations capture strong convictions about what is more convenient: staying or migrating. Conflicting aspirations stress that both migration and stay aspirations can be concurrently present and equally strong. Indeterminate aspirations represent uncertainty or indifference about where to be. With this focus, the paper provides a simple approach to orient research beyond ideal-type categories by incorporating complex, often contradictory emotions. The paper draws on 37 qualitative interviews in two former mining regions in North-West Spain to advance theorization on migration aspirations and decision-making and to question if the division between migration and stay aspirations is clear-cut.

Abstract The relationship between feminist movements and racialised migrant women in Europe remains marred by the continued marginalisation of migrant women’s political claims in feminist struggles, despite the circulation of intersectional discourses within academic and activist circles. This article documents important spaces of experimentation which Black activists are creating within the Italian feminist movement to give voice to racialised migrant women without the mediating intervention of white feminists. Rooted in an understanding of the margins as a site of resistance, such efforts engage in practices of refusal and talking back to reclaim a Black epistemic identity which powerfully interpellates Italian institutions and feminist activists. Black migrant women demand the recognition not only of their inherent capacity to speak, act, decide, but also of their ability to articulate a political analysis and a political project to challenge the intersectional discrimination and violence they face. Their struggle centres work as a site of compounding gendered and racialised exploitation, thus carrying the potential to expand feminist thinking and action on reproductive labour, labour participation and equal pay.

This paper is a reply to Elisabeth Korn and Jens Schröter’s essay “On a Potential Paradox of Public Service Media” which is part of tripleC’s special issue “Critical Perspectives on Digital Capitalism: Theories and Praxis”. My reflections focus on the notion of filtering, the relationship between broadcasting and the Internet; the relationship of media, technology, and society; and questions of (digital) democracy. On the one hand, there is a number of points where I agree with Korn and Schröter. On the other hand, their reflections also raised questions that I point out and that are not answered in their paper.

This paper is a rejoinder to Christian Fuchs’ “Democracy, the Internet, and Capitalism,” published in tripleC as a reply to our essay “On a Potential Paradox of Public Service Media” (2024), which was part of tripleC’s special issue “Critical Perspectives on Digital Capitalism: Theories and Praxis”. In this rejoinder, we will critically engage with open questions and unsolved contradictions of three points of discussion: the ideal of deliberative democracy in relation to the Internet, the broadcast model applied to ICTs, and the neutrality of (digital) technology.

Abstract Migration often impacts the mental and emotional health of those needing to move from their home countries. Studies have focused on migrants’ levels of distress or well-being, and recent research looks at older migrants’ experience with loneliness. What has yet to be researched is how different migrant groups experience loneliness, and how these feelings are affected by the contexts of leaving one country and reception in another. Drawing on the theoretical framework of integration, this article asks whether newly arrived refugees in Germany differ in their perception of loneliness from other newly arrived migrants. It examines these perceptions as related to social contacts and the context—and interplay—of exit and reception. Using OLS regressions with data from the Recent Immigration Processes and Early Integration Trajectories in Germany (ENTRA) project, we find that Syrian refugees have higher levels of loneliness than migrant groups from Poland, Italy, and Turkey. The difference is largely attributable to Syrians not having local German contacts, surviving traumatic experiences at home, and migrating specifically for physical safety. We also find that discrimination and not being in the labor force are determinants of loneliness across all four groups, and that even when considering migrant origins and other effects, having local social contacts lowers levels of loneliness. Our results point to migration policies, such as those related to family reunification and labor market access, for producing inequalities in loneliness between Syrian refugees and other migrants in Germany.
