1. Quantum Clock Synchronization Network with Silicon-chip Dual-Pumped Entangled Photon Source

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a quantum clock synchronization (QCS) network scheme with silicon-chip dual-pumped entangled photon source. This scheme couples two pump beams into the silicon-based waveguide, where degenerate and non-degenerate spontaneous four-wave mixing (SFWM) occurs, generating entanglement between one signal channel and three idler channels. The entangled photons are distributed to remote users through the wavelength division multiplexing strategy to construct an entanglement distribution network, and the round-trip QCS is adopted to realize a QCS network that can serve multiple users. A proof-of-principle QCS network experiment is implemented among the server and multiple users (Alice, Bob, and Charlie) for 11.1 hours, where Alice and Charlie are 10 km away from the server and Bob is 25 km away from the server. The lowest time deviations (TDEV) between the server and each user (Alice, Bob, and Charlie) are 1.57 ps, 0.82 ps and 2.57 ps at the average time of 8000 s, 8000 s and 800 s respectively. The results show that the QCS network scheme with dual-pumped SFWM photon source proposed by us achieves high accuracy, and the channel resources used by n users are reduced by about 30% compared with other round-trip QCS schemes.

Abstract: A novel method to reconstruct the energy of hadronic showers in the CMS High Granularity Calorimeter (HGCAL) is presented. The HGCAL is a sampling calorimeter with very fine transverse and longitudinal granularity. The active media are silicon sensors and scintillator tiles readout by SiPMs and the absorbers are a combination of lead and Cu/CuW in the electromagnetic section, and steel in the hadronic section. The shower reconstruction method is based on graph neural networks and it makes use of a dynamic reduction network architecture. It is shown that the algorithm is able to capture and mitigate the main effects that normally hinder the reconstruction of hadronic showers using classical reconstruction methods, by compensating for fluctuations in the multiplicity, energy, and spatial distributions of the shower's constituents. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated using test beam data collected in 2018 prototype of the CMS HGCAL accompanied by a section of the CALICE AHCAL prototype. However, whether ICI rechallenge could bring survival benefit to patients with ES-SCLC following its failure as first-line treatment remains unknown. Therefore, we aim to address the issue and identify the cohort of patients that may derive such benefit.Methods: Patients with ES-SCLC from both the IMpower133 study and Shandong Cancer Hospital and Institute (shanzhong cohort) who failed first-line ICI were included. Kaplan Meier analysis was performed to compare overall survival (OS). Both univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses were conducted to identify factors affecting survival. Tumor immune cell infiltration was evaluated by the CIBERSORT algorithm and detected by multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF).Results: A total of 125 ES-SCLC patients undergoing atezolizumab and 161 patients undergoing ICI as first-line treatment were recruited from IMpower133 and shanzhong cohort. Those receiving ICI rechallenge had a longer OS than those without in IMpower133 (P = 0.08) and shanzhong cohort (P = 0.013). In IMpower133 cohort, subgroup analyses found that patients with < 4 metastatic sites derived more survival benefit from atezolizumab (P = 0.008). For patients with ES-SCLC harboring < 4 metastatic sites, there was significant OS difference between atezolizumab versus non-atezolizumab as retreatment (P = 0.036). Moreover, for ES-SCLC patients with < 4 metastatic sites, atezolizumab improved survival compared with non-atezolizumab (hazard ratio [HR]: 0.457; 95% CI: 0.256– 0.817; P = 0.008). These findings were confirmed in shanzhong cohort. Those harboring < 4 metastatic sites had fewer M2 macrophage and more CD4 naïve T cells infiltration, which was further confirmed by mIF of ES-SCLC samples from shanzhong cohort.Conclusion: Our study provides rationale for ICI rechallenge among ES-SCLC patients with < 4 metastatic sites, suggesting beneficial outcome by reshaping TME.Keywords: extensive stage small cell lung cancer, ICI rechallenge, survival, metastatic sites, tumor microenvironment

Our goal was to compare the performance of the clinical characteristics, radiomics and deep learning model from computed tomography enterography (CTE) for identifying individuals at high risk of IFX treatment failure.Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 263 CD patients from three medical centers between 2017 and 2023 patients received CTE examinations within 1 month before IFX commencement. A training cohort was recruited from center 1 (n=166), while test cohort from centers 2 and 3 (n=97). The deep learning model and radiomics were constructed based on CTE images of lesion. The clinical model was developed using clinical characteristics. Two fusion methods were used to create fusion model: the feature-based early fusion model and the decision-based late fusion model. The performances of the predictive models were evaluated.Results: The early fusion model achieved the highest area under characteristics curve (AUC) (0.85– 0.91) among all patient cohorts, significantly outperforming deep learning model (AUC=0.72– 0.82, p=0.06– 0.03, Delong test) and radiomics model (AUC=0.72– 0.78, p=0.06– 0.01). Compared to early fusion model, the AUC values for the clinical and late fusion models were 0.71– 0.91 (p=0.01– 0.41), and 0.81– 0.88 (p=0.49– 0.37) in the test and training set, respectively. Moreover, the early fusion had the lowest value of Brier’s score 0.15– 0.12 in all patient set.Conclusion: The early fusion model, which integrates deep learning, radiomics, and clinical data, can be utilized to predict the response to IFX treatment in CD patients and illustrated clinical decision-making utility.Keywords: deep-learning, radiomics, Crohn’s disease, infliximab, prediction

The General Information Questionnaire, Adolescent Psychological Resilience Scale, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and Health Risk Behavior Questionnaire were used for survey.Results: Among the students, there were 71 smokers (15.4%) and 61 internet addicts (13.2%). Over a third of the students reported physical inactivity (35.9%) and a minority had psychological disorder (6.3%). The psychological resilience score differed between students who smoked, had internet addiction, physical inactivity, psychological disorder and those without these health-risk behaviors. Logistic regression analysis showed that negative coping tendency was the common contributing factor of physical inactivity, internet addiction and psychological disorder. Coping tendency played a partial mediating effect in the relationship between psychological resilience and health problems, with a mediating effect of 37.93%.Conclusion: Psychological resilience can not only affect health problems directly but also influence health problems indirectly through coping tendency. Educators and administrators in universities can apply effective measures to improve psychological resilience and positive coping to prevent or reduce health problems among undergraduates.Keywords: undergraduates, psychological resilience, coping, health problems, mediating effect

Antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) employed the agar dilution and micro broth dilution methods. Identification of resistance genes was carried out by PCR and whole-genome sequencing (WGS). Essential resistance gene locations were verified by S1 nuclease pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (S1-PFGE) and southern hybridization experiments. Subsequent WGS data analysis delved into drug resistance genes and plasmids.Results: The confirmation of the strain L2724hy as an extensive drug-resistant Citrobacter portucalensis, resistant to almost all antibiotics tested except polymyxin B and tigecycline, was achieved through 16S rRNA sequencing, ANI analysis and AST results. WGS and subsequent analysis revealed L2724hy carrying blaSFO-1, blaNDM-1, and blaKPC-2 on plasmids of various sizes. The uncommon ESBL gene blaSFO-1 coexists with the fosA3 gene on an IncFII plasmid, featuring the genetic environment IS 26-fosA3-IS 26-ampR-blaSFO-1-IS 26. The blaNDM-1 was found on an IncX3 plasmid, coexisting with blaSHV-12, displaying the sequence IS 5-IS 3000-IS 3000-Tn 2-blaNDM-1-ble-trpF-dsbD-cutA-gros-groL, lacking ISAa125. The blaKPC-2 is located on an unclassified plasmid, exhibiting the sequence Tn 2-tnpR-ISKpn27-blaKPC-2-ISKpn6-korC. Conjugation assays confirmed the transferability of both blaNDM-1 and blaKPC-2.Conclusion: We discovered the coexistence of blaSFO-1, blaNDM-1, and blaKPC-2 in C. portucalensis for the first time, delving into plasmid characteristics and transfer mechanisms. However, it is unclear whether UACR is associated with arterial stiffness in diabetes. We aimed to assess the relationship between UACR levels and the risk of arterial stiffness in patients with diabetes.Methods: From July 2021 to February 2023, a total of 1039 participants were assessed for the risk of arterial stiffness, which was evaluated by brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV). The value of UACR≥ 30 mg/g was defined as high UACR. The UACR level had an abnormal distribution and was log2-transformed for analyses to reduce skewness and volatility. High baPWV was evaluated as categorical variables divided by the highest quartile of the values by sex. The relationship between UACR and arterial stiffness was analyzed by linear curve fitting analyses. Multiple logistic regression models were used to analyze the crude and adjusted odds ratio (OR) of UACR for high baPWV with 95% confidence interval (CI). In addition to applying non-adjusted and multivariate-adjusted models, interaction and stratified analyses were also carried out.Results: The baPWV level was significantly higher in the high UACR group compared with that in the normal UACR group (1861.84 ± 439.12 cm/s vs 1723.13 ± 399.63 cm/s, p< 0.001). Adjusted smoothed plots suggested that there are linear relationships between log2-transformed UACR and high baPWV, and Spearman correlation coefficient was 0.226 (0.176– 0.276, p< 0.001). The OR (95% CI) between log2-transformed UACR and high baPWV were 1.26 (1.19– 1.33, p< 0.001), and 1.16 (1.08– 1.25, p< 0.001) respectively in diabetic patients before and after adjusting for potential confounders.Conclusion: The elevated UACR was associated with arterial stiffness in Chinese patients with diabetes.Plain Language Summary: 1. This retrospective study evaluates the benefits of preoperative adaptive training to mitigate post-surgical physiological changes.Patients and Methods: A review of medical records from June 2021 to March 2023 identified 170 patients unresponsive to conservative treatments. Grouped into adaptive training and control groups based on historical data, the former had undergone exercises to prepare for surgery and postoperative changes. Vital signs and VAS scores were extracted from patient records to assess training impact.Results: The adaptive training group demonstrated stabilized vital signs intraoperatively, with a notable improvement in surgical exposure compared to the control group. However, there were no significant differences in operative time or blood loss between the groups. Additionally, postoperative VAS scores showed no significant improvement in the adaptive training group at follow-up intervals of 14 days, 1 month, and 3 months post-operation, compared to the control group.Conclusion: Our study reveals that preoperative adaptive training stabilizes intraoperative blood pressure fluctuations in lumbar disc herniation surgeries. However, this stabilization does not significantly impact long-term postoperative pain management. Furthermore, PDA combined with different materials can exert unexpected effects. Thus, to inspire researchers, this review summarizes the recent and representative development of PDA biomaterials in tissue repair and regeneration. However, at present, no comprehensive bibliometric analysis regarding allopregnanolone research is available. In our study, we intend to analyze the research trends and hot spots related to allopregnanolone in the past 20 years.Methods: We searched for allopregnanolone related articles and reviews between 2004 and 2023 from the Web of Science Core Collection database. Then, the bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, Microsoft Excel 2019, as well as the online bibliometric analysis platform (http://bibliometric.com/).Results: A total of 1841 eligible publications were identified. The number of annual publications and citations was generally on the rise. Among countries, the United States ranked first in overall publications, citations, international cooperation, and the number of research institutions. The University of North Carolina was the most active institution, conducting numerous preclinical and clinical work that focusing on allopregnanolone treatment for diverse psychiatric or neurologic disorders. As for authors, Dr. Frye CA, Morrow AL, and Pinna G were identified as the top three prolific scholars due to their great publications and citations. Based on the publication clusters and citation bursts analysis, the keyword co-occurrence network, the strongest citation bursts, and co-cited references analysis, the hot spots in recent years included “depression”, “postpartum depression”, “GABAA receptor”, and so on.Conclusion: Allopregnanolone is still a popular area of research, and the United States leads the way in this area. Dr. Frye CA, Morrow AL, Pinna G, and their teams contributed greatly to the mechanism study and translation study of allopregnanolone. The use of allopregnanolone for the treatment of psychiatric or neurologic disorders, especially postpartum depression, is the current hot spot. The inclusion criteria were: Patients aged 18 years or more with a spinal cord injury who underwent tracheostomy, were treated with mechanical ventilation for over 48 hours, and were diagnosed as having a pulmonary infection. Sputum samples were cultured and analyzed.Results: 101 cases of pulmonary infection were analyzed, and the incidence was 32.17%. Diabetes (OR 2.302, 95% CI 1.285– 3.972), hypoproteinemia (OR 1.992, 95% CI 1.125– 3.101), administration of glucocorticoids (OR 2.934, 95% CI 1.412– 4.661), ASIA grade A (OR 3.672, 95% CI 1.988– 5.046), mechanical ventilation for ≥ 6 days (OR 2.108, 95% CI 1.385– 4.751), and length of hospital stay for ≥ 20 days (OR 2.137, 95% CI 1.092– 3.842) were risk factors for pulmonary infection in patients with spinal cord injury post-tracheostomy. Among 213 pathogenic bacteria, 52 (51.48%) were Gram-negative and 24 (23.76%) were Gram-positive. Klebsiella pneumoniae (15.84%) and Staphylococcus aureus (8.91%) were the most common pathogenic bacteria. The mortality rate of patients with gram-positive infection was higher than that of patients with gram-negative infection. K. pneumoniae and S. aureus were sensitive to cefoperazone, meropenem, and levofloxacin.Conclusion: Pulmonary infection is a complication post-tracheostomy in patients with spinal cord injury. Diabetes, hypoproteinemia, administration of glucocorticoids, mechanical ventilation for ≥ 6 days, length of hospital stay for ≥ 20 days were risk factors for pulmonary infection. Pulmonary infection was mainly caused by gram-negative bacteria. Timely and effective measures for managing risk factors are essential for improving the prognosis of pulmonary infection post-tracheostomy in patients with spinal cord injuries.Keywords: risk factors of pulmonary infection, spinal cord injury, tracheostomy

16. Strong coupling nature of kagome superconductivity in LaRu$_3$Si$_2$

Abstract: We report muon spin rotation (${\mu}$SR) experiments together with first-principles calculations on microscopic properties of superconductivity in the kagome superconductor LaRu$_3$Si$_2$ with $T_{\rm c}$ ${\simeq}$ 7K. We find that the calculated normal state band structure features a kagome flat band and Dirac as well as van Hove points formed by the Ru-$dz^2$ orbitals near the Fermi level. Below $T_{\rm c}$, ${\mu}$SR reveals isotropic type-II superconductivity, which is robust against hydrostatic pressure up to 2 GPa. Intriguingly, the ratio 2$\Delta/k_{\rm B}T_{\rm c}$ ${\simeq}$ 4.3 (where ${\Delta}$ is the superconducting energy gap) is in the strong coupling limit, and $T_{\rm c}$/$\lambda_{eff}^{-2}$ (where ${\lambda}$ is the penetration depth) is comparable to that of high-temperature unconventional superconductors. We also find that electron-phonon coupling alone can only reproduce small fraction of $T_{\rm c}$ from calculations, which suggests other factors in enhancing $T_{\rm c}$ such as the correlation effect from the kagome flat band, the van Hove point on the kagome lattice, and high density of states from narrow kagome bands. Our experiments and calculations taken together point to strong coupling and the unconventional nature of kagome superconductivity in LaRu$_3$Si$_2$., Comment: 15 pages, 9 figures

However, the current methods of preparing composite materials that mimic the complex structure and biological activity of natural bone are challenging for recruitment of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs), which affects the application of these materials in situ bone regeneration. Hollow hydroxyapatite microspheres (HHMs) possess a natural porous bone structure, good adsorption, and slow release of chemokines, but have low ability to recruit BMSCs and induce osteogenesis. In this study, The HHM/chitosan (CS) and recombinant human C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 13 (rhCXCL13)-HHM/CS biomimetic scaffolds that optimize bone regeneration and investigated their mechanism of BMSC recruitment and osteogenesis through cell and animal experiments and transcriptomic sequencing.Methods: Evaluate the physical characteristics of the HHM/CS and rhCXCL13-HHM/CS biomimetic scaffolds through Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and the cumulative release curve of rhCXCL13. Transwell migration experiments and co-culture with BMSCs were conducted to study the recruitment ability and osteogenic differentiation of the scaffolds. Transcriptomic sequencing was performed to analyze the osteogenic differentiation mechanism. The osteogenesis and bone healing performance were evaluated using a rabbit radial defect model.Results: SEM demonstrated that the rhCXCL13-HHM/CS scaffold comprised hydroxyapatite microspheres in a porous three-dimensional network. The rhCXCL13 showed excellent sustained release capability. The rhCXCL13-HHM/CS scaffold could recruit BMSCs and induce bone regeneration. Transcriptome sequencing and experimental results showed that the osteogenesis mechanism of rhCXCL13-HHM/CS was through the PI3K-AKT pathway. Abstract: We report muon spin rotation (μSR) experiments together with first-principles calculations on microscopic properties of superconductivity in the kagome superconductor LaRu3Si2 with Tc≃ 7K. Below Tc, μSR reveals type-II superconductivity with a single s-wave gap, which is robust against hydrostatic pressure up to 2 GPa. We find that the calculated normal state band structure features a kagome flat band, and Dirac as well as van Hove points formed by the Ru-dz2 orbitals near the Fermi level. We also find that electron-phonon coupling alone can only reproduce a small fraction of Tc from calculations, which suggests other factors in enhancing Tc such as the correlation effect from the kagome flat band, the van Hove point on the kagome lattice, and the high density of states from narrow kagome bands. Our experiments and calculations taken together point to nodeless moderate coupling kagome superconductivity in LaRu3Si2.

This study aims to illustrate the synergistic mechanism of BLEC in the treatment of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) by using network pharmacology method, molecular docking and experimental validation.Methods: Searching and screening the active ingredients of different herbs in BLEC and target genes related to CAD in multiple databases. Subsequently, Protein–Protein Interactions Network (PPI-Net), gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) enrichment were used to identify the key targets. AutoDock was used to verify the binding ability between the active ingredient and key target through molecular docking. Reverse Transcription-Quantitative Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-qPCR) was used to verify the effect of active ingredient of BLEC on the key target gene. Finally, effect of BLEC on the degree of blood lipids and atherosclerosis was validated by animal experiment.Results: There are 144 active components and 80 CAD-related targets that are identified in BLEC in the treatment of CAD. What is more, 8 core genes were obtained by clustering and topological analysis of PPI-Net. Further, GO and KEGG analysis showed that fluid shear stress and atherosclerosis are the key pathways for BLEC to treat CAD. These results were validated by molecular docking method. In vitro, active compounds of BLEC (Quercetin, luteolin, kaempferol, naringenin, tanshinone IIA, β-carotene, 7-O-methylisomucronulatol, piperine, isorhamnetin and Xyloidone) can inhibit 8 core gene (AKT1, EGFR, FOS, MAPK1, MAPK14, STAT3, TP53 and VEGFA) expression. Moreover, BLEC not only improve blood lipid levels but also inhibit the development of atherosclerosis in ApoE-knockout mice.Conclusion: Our research first revealed the basic pharmacological effects and related mechanisms of in the treatment of CAD. PE, EI, PELM, and PSB were assessed using standard scales. For data analysis, Pearson’s correlation analysis, structural equation model test, and bias-corrected percentile Bootstrap method were carried out in turn.Results: (1) There was a significant positive correlation between PE and PSB (r = 0.137), and the direct path between PE and PSB was significant (β = 0.09, t = 4.73, p < 0.01); (2) PE can positively predict EI (β= 0.08, t = 5.27, p < 0.01) and PELM (β= 0.04, t = 2.07, p < 0.05), EI can significantly and positively PSB (β= 0.67, t = 22.12, p < 0.01), PELM can significantly and positively predict PSB (β= 0.05, t =2.20, p< 0.05); (3) EI and physical learning motivation play a significant intermediary role between PE and PSB. The mediating effect consists of three indirect effects: PE → EI → PSB (the mediating effect value is 0.055), PE → PELM → PSB (the mediating effect value is 0.002), PE → EI → PELM → PSB (the mediating effect value is 0.002); (4) The chain mediation effect is significant in girls, but not in boys.Conclusion: (1) PE can positively predict PSB. Abstract: Many organic electronic devices require vertically layered structures to operate. This manuscript demonstrates an additive solution process for depositing multiple layers of semiconducting polymer (SP) films by controlling film solubility with molecular dopants. During multi-layer deposition the bottom layers are exposed to a series of solvent environments that swell the SP films. We use neutron reflectometry (NR) to quantify the film thickness change and solvent content during solvent exposure in a single poly-3-hexylthiophene (P3HT) layer. The film thickness increases by 40-80% with exposure to good solvents. Four layer thin-films composed of alternating protonated and deuterated P3HT layers were additively coated from solution. NR measurements reveal high individual layer purity and that extensive solvent soaking induces no mixing between layers. Finally, two-point conductivity measurements demonstrate that P3HT:P3HT layer interfaces have no effect on vertical conductivity. This facile process enables additive layering of mutually soluble SP films and can be used to design novel electronic device architectures.

Ultrasonic targeted microbubble destruction (UTMD) technology can open the BBB, leading to a new type of drug delivery system with particular utility in glioma.Purpose: We have developed a new type of drug-loaded microbubble complex based on poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) that targets gambogic acid (GA) to the area of brain tumors through UTMD.Methods: GA/PLGA nanoparticles were prepared by the double emulsification method, and cationic microbubbles (CMBs) were prepared by a thin film hydration method. The GA/PLGA-CMB microbubble complex was assembled through electrostatic attractions and was characterized chemically. The anti-glioblastoma effect of GA/PLGA-CMB combined with focused ultrasound (FUS) was evaluated by biochemical and imaging assays in cultured cells and model mice.Results: GA/PLGA-CMB combined with FUS demonstrated a significant inhibitory effect on glioblastoma cell lines U87 and U251 as compared with controls (P< 0.05). Tumor access and imaging analyses demonstrated that administration of GA/PLGA-CMBs combined with FUS can open the BBB and target the treatment of glioblastoma in a mouse model, as compared with control groups (P< 0.05).Conclusion: The combination of PLGA-CMB with FUS provides an effective and biocompatible drug delivery system, and its application to the delivery of GA in a mouse glioblastoma model was successful.Keywords: microbubbles, cavitation effect, glioblastoma, focused ultrasound

The method of skin grafting with particles at the edge of the wound was used to graft skin on the wound. Scar evaluation scale was used to evaluate the wound. The patients were followed up for 12 months. The preoperative and postoperative data, scar index and patient satisfaction after healing were recorded and statistically analyzed.Results: All patients in this group were followed up for 3– 12 months, and the results showed that SCAR Scale score decreased gradually over time, with patient satisfaction ranging from 80% to 96%. The patient gradually healed, scar hyperplasia gradually improved, functional activities gradually returned to normal, clinical effect is satisfactory.Conclusion: Microparticle skin grafting at the edge of wound avoids skin grafting at different skin donor sites. It has the characteristics of simple anesthesia, small trauma and convenient operation. The purpose of this study is to determine the differentially expressed genes of platinum resistance in ovarian cancer, and to screen out molecular targets and diagnostic markers that could be used to treat ovarian cancer platinum resistance.Methods: We downloaded 5 gene microarray datasets GSE58470, GSE45553, GSE41499, GSE33482, and GSE15372 from the Gene Expression Omnibus database, all of which are associated with ovarian cancer platinum resistance. Subsequently, the intersection of the statistically significant differentially expressed genes in 5 gene chips was taken, and relevant bioinformatics and clinical parameters were performed on the screened differential genes. qRT-PCR was utilized to examine the mRNA expression levels in ovarian cancer sensitive and cisplatin-resistant cells.Results: Three differential genes, IFI27, JAG1, DNM3, may be closely related to platinum resistance of ovarian cancer, were screened by microarray datasets. According to the combined verification of bioinformatics, clinical case analyses and experiments, it was inferred that the increased expression of DNM3 was beneficial to patients with platinum resistance, but the high expression of IFI27 and JAG1 may lead to the risk of platinum resistance.Conclusion: IFI27, JAG1 and DNM3 screened by relevant gene chips may serve as new biomarkers of platinum resistance in ovarian cancer.Keywords: ovarian cancer, platinum resistance, bioinformatical analysis, differentially expressed genes

It is often diagnosed as advanced by reason of the anatomical structure of the deep retroperitoneal layer of the pancreas, lack of typical symptoms and effective screening methods to detect this malignancy, resulting in a low survival rate. Emodin (EMO) is an economical natural product with effective treatment and few side effects of cancer treatment. Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) can achieve multiplexed imaging and targeted therapy by loading a wide range of functional materials such as fluorescent dyes and therapeutic agents.Purpose: The purpose of this study was to design and evaluate a multifunctional theranostic nanoplatform for PC diagnosis and treatment.Methods: In this study, we successfully developed EMO-loaded, Cy7-functionalized, PEG-coated Fe3O4 (Fe3O4-PEG-Cy7-EMO). Characteristics including morphology, hydrodynamic size, zeta potentials, stability, and magnetic properties of Fe3O4-PEG-Cy7-EMO were evaluated. Fluorescence imaging (FI)/magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and therapeutic treatment were examined in vitro and in vivo.Results: Fe3O4-PEG-Cy7-EMO nanoparticles had a core size of 9.9 ± 1.2 nm, which showed long-time stability and FI/MRI properties. Bio-transmission electron microscopy (bio-TEM) results showed that Fe3O4-PEG-Cy7-EMO nanoparticles were endocytosed into BxPC-3 cells, while few were observed in hTERT-HPNE cells. Prussian blue staining also confirmed that BxPC-3 cells have a stronger phagocytic ability as compared to hTERT-HPNE cells. Additionally, Fe3O4-PEG-Cy7-EMO had a stronger inhibition effect on BxPC-3 cells than Fe3O4-PEG and EMO. The hemolysis experiment proved that Fe3O4-PEG-Cy7-EMO can be used in vivo experiments. Two radiologists independently evaluated the CT images. The effectiveness of these variables in distinguishing lobar pneumonia from MALT lymphoma was analyzed using logistic regression analysis.Results: The average age of lobar pneumonia patients was younger than that of MALT lymphoma patients (p=0.002). The respiratory symptom was more common in lobar pneumonia than MALT lymphoma (p=0.002). Signs of bronchiectasis within the consolidation and bulging of interlobar fissure occurred significantly more often in MALT lymphoma than pneumonia (69.2% vs 11.1%, p< 0.0001; 46.2% vs 19.4%, p=0.024). We used the predictors with p< 0.05 (age, respiratory symptoms, bronchiectasis, and bulging of interlobar fissure) to construct a logistic regression model. Genetic factors may increase the risk of KD. To assess the association between rs7248320 in long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) AC008392.1 located in the upstream region of CARD8 and the risk of KD, a case–control study was conducted in the Han Chinese population.Methods: This study genotyped the polymorphism rs7248320 in the lncRNA AC008392.1 gene using the TaqMan real-time polymerase chain reaction assay. The genetic contribution of rs7248320 was evaluated using odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) using unconditional logistic regression analysis. The association between rs7248320 and KD susceptibility was analyzed by performing a hospital-based case–control study including 559 KD patients and 1055 non-KD controls.Results: In this study, a significant relationship between rs7248320 and KD risk was observed in the genotype/allele frequency distribution. The rs7248320 polymorphism was associated with a significantly decreased risk of KD after adjustment for age and sex (AG vs AA: adjusted OR = 0.80, 95% CI: 0.64– 0.99, P = 0.0421; GG vs AA: adjusted OR = 0.71, 95% CI: 0.51– 1.00, P = 0.0492; AG/GG vs AA: adjusted OR = 0.78, 95% CI: 0.63– 0.96, P = 0.0186). Moreover, the rs7248320 G allele also exhibited a decreased risk for KD (adjusted OR = 0.83, 95% CI: 0.72– 0.97, P = 0.0193) compared with the A allele. Abstract: Compared to the conventional frame motor, the frameless motor (FlM) has lower torque ripple and higher power density, which becomes the ideal selection in the robotic field. In this article, a novel permanent magnet (PM) FlM is proposed, which has a modular three-teeth stator structure and toroidal windings. The air gap flux density and cogging torque are analyzed by analytical method (AM), and back electromotive force (EMF) and torque of the PMFlM are calculated by magnetic circuit method, which can be used to achieve the best parameter values of PMFlM. The torque density of PMFlM is improved by increasing the axial length of the rotor and PM poles. A PM synchronous motor (SM) with toroidal winding and air gap in the stator pole (topology II) and traditional PMSM (topology III) are designed. A prototype is manufactured, and the electromagnetic characteristics of PMFlM are analyzed by both the experimental test and finite element method (FEM). While the three topologies have the same volume, the amplitude of the back EMF and the torque density of PMFlM are improved by 55.7% and 35.8% compared to those of topology II, respectively. The torque density of PMFlM is larger by 3.5% than that of topology III.

Abstract: In order to improve the drilling efficiency and accuracy of drilling robot, a linear rotary drilling motor (LRDM) is proposed with U-type stator and toroidal winding structure. The stator sections are staggered, which can use the motor space effectively. The asymmetric air gap flux density (AGFD) phenomenon of LRDM is found based on the initial magnetic field analysis by finite-element method (FEM). According to flux tube principle, the variation law of the amplitude of the asymmetric AGFD of the LRDM is derived, which can be used to realize the optimization design with less computation time. The cogging torque, detent force, torque, and thrust are taken as the optimization objectives, and the optimal values of the structure and electromagnetic parameters are obtained. Then a prototype is manufactured. The electromagnetic characteristics of the proposed motor are analyzed and verified by FEM and experimental test.

46. Medical long-tailed learning for imbalanced data: Bibliometric analysis.

Abstract: BACKGROUND: In the last decade, long-tail learning has become a popular research focus in deep learning applications in medicine. However, no scientometric reports have provided a systematic overview of this scientific field. We utilized bibliometric techniques to identify and analyze the literature on long-tailed learning in deep learning applications in medicine and investigate research trends, core authors, and core journals. We expanded our understanding of the primary components and principal methodologies of long-tail learning research in the medical field. METHODS: Web of Science was utilized to collect all articles on long-tailed learning in medicine published until December 2023. The suitability of all retrieved titles and abstracts was evaluated. For bibliometric analysis, all numerical data were extracted. CiteSpace was used to create clustered and visual knowledge graphs based on keywords. RESULTS: A total of 579 articles met the evaluation criteria. Over the last decade, the annual number of publications and citation frequency both showed significant growth, following a power-law and exponential trend, respectively. Noteworthy contributors to this field include Husanbir Singh Pannu, Fadi Thabtah, and Talha Mahboob Alam, while leading journals such as IEEE ACCESS, COMPUTERS IN BIOLOGY AND MEDICINE, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON MEDICAL IMAGING, and COMPUTERIZED MEDICAL IMAGING AND GRAPHICS have emerged as pivotal platforms for disseminating research in this area. The core of long-tailed learning research within the medical domain is encapsulated in six principal themes: deep learning for imbalanced data, model optimization, neural networks in image analysis, data imbalance in health records, CNN in diagnostics and risk assessment, and genetic information in disease mechanisms. Abstract: Carbon-based nanomaterials are key to developing high-performing electrochemical sensors with improved sensitivity and selectivity. Nonetheless, limitations in their fabrication and integration into devices often constrain their practical applications. Moreover, carbon nanomaterials-based electrochemical devices still face problems such as large background currents, poor stability, and slow kinetics. To advance towards a new class of carbon nanostructured electrochemical transducers, we propose the in-situ polymerization and carbonization of furfuryl alcohol (FA) on porous silicon (pSi) to produce a tailored and highly stable transducer. The thin layer of polyfurfuryl alcohol (PFA) that conformally coats the pSi scaffold transforms into nanoporous carbon when subjected to pyrolysis above 600 °C. The morphological and chemical properties of PFA-pSi were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, and Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopies. Their stability and electrochemical performance were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in [Fe(CN)6]3-/4-, [Ru(NH3)6]2+/3+, and hydroquinone. PFA-pSi showed superior electrochemical performance compared to screen-printed carbon electrodes while also surpassing glassy carbon electrodes in specific aspects. Besides, PFA-pSi has the additional advantage of easy tuning of the electroactive surface area. To prove its potential for biosensing purposes, a DNA sensor based on quantifying the partial pore blockage of the pSi upon target hybridization was built on PFA-pSi. The sensor showed a limit of detection of 1.4 pM, outperforming other sensors based on the same sensing mechanism.

Abstract: We separate the extragalactic radio source population above ~50 uJy into active galactic nuclei (AGN) and star-forming sources. The primary method of our approach is to fit the infrared spectral energy distributions (SEDs), constructed using Spitzer/IRAC and MIPS and Herschel/SPIRE photometry, of 380 radio sources in the Extended Chandra Deep Field-South. From the fitted SEDs, we determine the relative AGN and star-forming contributions to their infrared emission. With the inclusion of other AGN diagnostics such as X-ray luminosity, Spitzer/IRAC colours, radio spectral index and the ratio of star-forming total infrared flux to k-corrected 1.4 GHz flux density, qIR, we determine whether the radio emission in these sources is powered by star formation or by an AGN. The majority of these radio sources (60 per cent) show the signature of an AGN at some wavelength. Of the sources with AGN signatures, 58 per cent are hybrid systems for which the radio emission is being powered by star formation. This implies that radio sources which have likely been selected on their star formation have a high AGN fraction. Below a 1.4 GHz flux density of 1 mJy, along with finding a strong contribution to the source counts from pure star-forming sources, we find that hybrid sources constitute 20-65 per cent of the sources. This result suggests that hybrid sources have a significant contribution, along with sources that do not host a detectable AGN, to the observed flattening of the source counts at ~1mJy for the extragalactic radio source population., Comment: 21 pages, 11 figures

The primary outcome was a QoR-40 score on postoperative day (POD) 1. Secondary outcomes were a QoR-40 score on POD 3, levels of inflammatory factors (IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α) and CD4+T cells, CD8+T cells proportions, and CD4+/CD8+ cell ratios and postoperative recovery of bowel function.Results: There were no statistically significant differences in patient characteristics at baseline. The total QoR-40 scores on POD 1 in Group HL (171.4± 3.89) were higher than those in Group LL (166.20± 4.05) and in Group C (163.40± 4.38) (adjusted P< 0.001). Differences in the dimension scores of QoR-40 for pain, physical comfort, and emotional state were significant across the three groups. Lidocaine administration significantly reduced the release of IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α, and attenuated immune changes induced by trauma. Kaplan–Meier curves showed that the median time to the first exhaust and defecation were shorter in the Group HL than in Groups LL and C (1.55 days vs 2.4 days vs 2.6 days, log rank P< 0.0001; and 2.86 days vs 3.22 days vs 3.46 days, log rank P=0.002, respectively). Additionally, patients in lidocaine groups required less remifentanil consumption and experienced lower pain intensity, compared with the control group.Conclusion: Systemic lidocaine improved postoperative recovery, alleviated inflammation and immunosuppression, and accelerated the return of bowel function, and is thus, worthy of clinical application.Clinical Trials Registration: ChiCTR2000028934.Keywords: lidocaine, QoR-40, postoperative quality of life, radical gastrectomy
