INTRODUCTION: We aim to determine the fetal nasal bone length (NBL) percentile values that can be used in the prediction of the fetal anomaly at 11-14 weeks of gestation in a low-risk population. METHODS: Our prospective and cross-sectional study included four hundred and eighty-six singleton pregnancies who applied for the first-trimester aneuploidy screening test at 11-14 weeks of gestation. We excluded pregnant women with fetal structural or chromosomal anomaly, nuchal translucency >3mm, an absent nasal bone, and in utero fetal death. Reference and percentile values of the NBL were calculated separately for 11,12,13,and 14. gestational weeks. RESULTS: Standard NBL measurements were performed in 486 pregnancies according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Median NBL values were computed for each gestational age (GA), for 11,12,13 and 14. weeks of gestation was found 1.6mm (range=1.1-2.5), 1.8mm (range=1.1-3.0), 2.0mm (range=1.4-3.1), and 2.2mm (range=1.7-2.8), respectively. Amaç: Biz bu çalışmamızda, Türk popülasyonunda 11-14. gebelik haftaları için IT ve BPD persantil değerleri oluşturmayı ve intrakranial saydamlık ölçümünün fetal anomali ve gebelik komplikasyonlarını öngörmedeki etkinliğini araştırmayı amaçladık. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmamız retrospektif olarak Ocak 2022 - Nisan 2022 tarihleri arasında Tıp Fakültesi Perinatoloji polikliniğinde 535 hastanın verileri değerlendirilerek yapılmıştır. Gestasyonel yaş (GA), son adet tarihinin ilk gününden itibaren hesaplandı ve baş-popo uzunluğu (CRL) ölçülerek doğrulandı. CRL ölçümleri 45-84 mm arasında olan tekil gebelikler çalışmaya dahil edildi. Yapısal veya kromozom anomalisi olan, NT ≥3 mm olan, ultrasonografide spina bifida saptanan veya intrauterin ex fetüs saptanan gebelikler çalışma dışı bırakıldı. Bulgular: 535 gebe hasta değerlendirilmiş, 15 ikiz gebelik, yapısal veya kromozomal anomalili fetüsler (dördü kistik higroma, ikisi down sendromlu, ikisi ensefalosel ve biri vertebral anomalili), intrauterin ex fetüs (n=2) , NT ölçümleri ≥ 3 mm olan (n=5) toplam 31 gebe çalışma dışı bırakıldı. Geriye kalan 504 gebe, CRL ölçümleri 45-54 mm, 55-64 mm, 65-74 mm ve 75-84 mm olacak şekilde gruplandırılarak; IT ve BPD'nin 5., 50. ve 95. persentil değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Ayrıca IT ve BPD'nin 5., 50. ve 95. persentil değerleri, gebelik haftaları 11-11 hafta 6 gün ,12-12 hafta 6 gün, 13-13 hafta 6 gün ve 14-14 hafta 2 gün olarak gruplandırılarak hesaplanmıştır. Sonuç: İlk trimesterde BPD ve IT için belirlenen 95 persentil değerlerinin mevcut popülasyonda açık spina bifida, anöploidi ve yapısal kraniyal anomalilerin taranmasında kullanılabilecek pratik yöntemler olabileceğini düşünmekteyiz.

Aims:We investigated the clinical characteristics and pregnancy outcomes of conotruncal heart anomalies (CTAs), which constitute a significant part of congenital heart diseases in the prenatal period.Methods:This study analyzed patients with CTA diagnosed between 2015 and 2020. The incidence of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), transposition of the great arteries (TGA), double outlet right ventricle (DORV), truncus arteriosus (TA), and interrupted aortic arch type B (IAA-B) was identified. The time of diagnosis and accuracy of CTAs, concomitant anomalies (cardiac and extracardiac), and chromosomal disorders observed together were examined. Pregnancy outcomes and neonatal survival rates were evaluated.Results:A total of 396 congenital heart diseases were examined. CTA was diagnosed in 102 (25.8%) of the patients. Ninety-nine patients with available data were analyzed. A total of 33 (33.3%) patients were diagnosed with TOF, 30 (30.3%) with DORV, 16 (16.2%) with TA, 16 (16.2%) with TGA, and 4 (4%) with IIA-B. CTA was an isolated anomaly in 28 (28.3%) of the patients. The other patients had one or more accompanying cardiac/extracardiac anomalies. The prenatal invasive diagnostic was examined in 40 (40.4%) of the patients, and chromosomal anomalies were detected in 16 (40%) of them. In 18 (18.4%) of the patients, pregnancy was terminated at the request of the parents. Intrauterine demise occurred in 4 (4.9%) pregnancies that were not terminated, and neonatal death occurred in 26 (32.1%) of the newborns.Conclusions:The presence of additional cardiac, extracardiac, and genetic abnormalities are common in CTAs and are associated with adverse outcomes.

OBJECTIVES: The World Health Organization recommends feticide for termination of pregnancy after 20 weeks of gestation, and the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists after 21 weeks and 6 days. Digoxin is a commonly used feticidal agent. This retrospective study aimed to show the effect of different doses of digoxin on the timing of fetal demise when used for feticide. STUDY DESIGN: Our retrospective cohort study included 57 patients who underwent feticide by routine intra-amniotic digoxin 0.75 mg or 1 mg between 2016 and 2018 at the Ataturk University Medical Faculty Research Hospital. The patients were administered undiluted digoxin 0.75 mg (3 ccs) or 1 mg (4 ccs) with a 20-gauge spinal needle inserted through the amniotic membrane. After digoxin administration, the fetal heartbeat was monitored every hour by ultrasound, and recorded. RESULTS: In this retrospective study, we reviewed the data of 61 patients who underwent feticide by intra-amniotic digoxin 0.75 mg and 1 mg. Digoxin 3 ccs (n=23) and digoxin 4 ccs (n=34). The two groups were not significantly different in terms of age, gestational week, and termination indications. We reviewed the medical records of all subjects and noted any side effects. CONCLUSIONS: In our study, we investigated the effect of different doses of intra-amniotic digoxin on the fetal demise in accordance with the literature. Despite our small sample size, we conclude that a higher dose of digoxin will reduce the time to asystole and minimize the mental burden of the procedure on the patient.

Objective: Postirradiation sarcoma of the female genital tract is rare, but a recognized event. Most reported cases have been associated with history of radiotherapy for various gynecologic conditions, particularly cancer of the uterine cervix and abnormal uterine bleeding. The occurrence of uterine sarcoma secondary to radiotherapy for a non-gynecologic tumor and, furthermore, this condition being simultaneous with the recurrence of primary tumor is unique. Case Report: A 67-year-old woman presented with a uterine mass which was diagnosed as a sarcoma by endometrial curettage and history of pelvic radiotherapy 23 years previously for sacral chordoma. Surgical staging procedure for uterine malignancy was performed. The final pathologic diagnosis was carcinosarcoma of the uterus. Conclusion: In uterine masses seen in patients with history of irradiation to the pelvic field, the probability of uterine sarcomas should always be kept in mind. These tumors may occur simultaneously with recurrence of primary tumor previously treated by adjuvant radiation therapy.

This study retrospectively aims to evaluate nine cases of congenital pulmonary ai rway malformation (CPAM) diagnosed during the prenatal period. Prenatal diagnosis of CPAMs is critical in the diagnosis of fetal thoracic malformations. Case studies provide a better understanding of the clinical course, treatment options, and outcomes of CPAMs. Cases with prenatally diagnosed lung lesions screened in the high-risk pregnancy category between October 2021 and February 2024 were analyzed retrospectively. The characteristics, location, and accompanying findings of the lesions were evaluated by perinatology specialists. The diagnosis of CPAM was categorized based on prenatal ultrasound images. This study show the demographic characteristics and clinical findings of the patients with CPAM. In our study, the mean age was 33 years, and the median week at diagnosis was 21 weeks and 2 days. The median birth weight was 2970 gm. The rate of vaginal delivery was 55.6%, while additional anomalies were detected at a rate of 66.7%. Most lesions were located in the right lung and had a cystic or solid-cystic nature. The distribution according to CPAM type was 22.2% type 1, 33.3% type 2, and 44.4% type 3. According to the results obtained by analyzing nine cases, two cases resulted in termination, regression was observed in two cases, and postnatal surgery was performed in one case. One case was followed up postnatally. This study examined the clinical course, treatment options, and outcomes of rare cases diagnosed with CPAM. To evaluate the obstetric outcomes of extra ultrasonographic anomalies in patients with cleft lip or/and cleft (CL±P) palate. This retrospective study was conducted in a tertiary referral hospital between December 2017 and March 2021. The patients were analyzed under three groups as follows: isolated CL±P (group 1), CL±P with ultrasonographic anomalies with mild fetal and neonatal consequences (group 2), and CL±P with ultrasonographic anomalies with severe fetal and neonatal consequences (group 3). Fourty cases were analyzed. The abnormal karyotype result (16.7%) were 46,x,t (t15;16)(q26;24), monosomy 18, trisomy 13, 46, XX, 21ps +. In the central cleft, ultrasonographic anomalies were seen in nine patients, which was statistically significantly higher than in isolated CL±P (p=0.004). Seven patients with extra ultrasonographic anomalies underwent termination, one patient with anencephaly died in utero. Preterm birth was the most common obstetric complication in all groups (n=9, 27.2%). In group 3, polyhydramnios was observed statistically significantly more frequently than in group 2 (p=0.033), and the first minute APGAR score was statist ically significantly lower than in group 1 and 2 (p=0.003). The fifth minute APGAR score was statistically significantly lower and the need for the neonatal intensive care unit was statistically significantly higher than group 1 only (p=0.004 and p=0.007, respectively). Polyhydramnios is not found in isolated cases, but only in cases with additional anomalies. Objective To investigate the associated anomalies and outcomes of fetuses diagnosed as having a single umbilical artery (SUA) which were reported inconsistently in previous studies. Methods The data of 82 pregnancies with fetal SUA, 35 of which were complex, and 47 isolated SUA (iSUA) and 100 pregnancies with fetal double umbilical arteries (DUA) between June 2018 and July 2020 were retrieved. We compared the maternal characteristics, and pregnancy and fetal outcomes of the three groups (iSUA, SUA, and DUA). Results Of 82 fetuses with SUA, 35 had 64 major structural abnormalities. 20 of these 35 fetuses (57.1%) had cardiovascular malformations, 12 (34.2%) had central nervous, 10 (28.5%) had genitourinary, and eight (22.8%) had gastrointestinal system malformations. We have interestedly read the article written by Thalia Wong BS in July 2015, which is about Pediatric Blood Cancer, including clinical findings and results of infants <1 year of age with Ewing sarcoma. We report a case with congenital Ewing's sarcoma that easily interfered with rabdomyosarcoma in a pregnant woman. A 32-year-old multigravida with a big neck mass at 35 weeks was referred to our clinic. The final diagnosis of extraskeletal Ewing's sarcoma was made. Hepatic metastasis was detected and treatment by chemotherapy was initiated. Ewing's sarcoma is usually noted among adolescents or young adults and more rarely than among newborns.
