A change in parameters such as pressure, temperature, consumed energy, vibration and noise indicates a problem in the refrigeration system. In this study, the relationship between vibration and noise measurement values detected in the compressor, one of the refrigeration system equipment, and fault diagnosis was examined. Five different fault cases have been developed. The measured temperature and pressure data, vibration and noise values were transferred to the computer (PC). Fault detection was made from the differences between vibration and noise values in normal and faulty states of the system. It has been observed that noise and vibration values vary depending on the types of faults in the system. Average vibration values are 0,1471 m/s² in normal operating condition, 0,2373 m/s² in dirty condenser, 0,2209 m/s² in clogged expansion valve, 0,2129 m/s² in excess refrigerant charge, 0,2129 m/s² in incomplete refrigerant charge. It was determined as 0,1962 m/s² and 0,2227 m/s² in case of compressor failure. In noise values, 68,1 dB in operating condition, 93,49 dB in dirty condenser, 93,81 dB in clogged expansion valve, 92,42 dB in excessive refrigerant charge, 92,14 dB in incomplete refrigerant charge and 94,5 dB in compressor failure determined. It has been observed that although noise and vibration values are close to each other, they can give an idea about the type of fault. These values showed that fault detection can be made only with vibration and noise measurement values for normal and faulty operating situations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
