İlk Sosyalfest 2024 Katılımcılarında Gürültü Farkındalığı: Retrospektif Bir Araştırma.

Objective: The first national and international Social Sciences Festival (Socialfest) of the Republic of Turkey was hosted by Karabük University. This study aimed to investigate noise awareness in individuals attending the Sosyalfest event. Methods: This study was conducted on participants who attended the Socialfest event held on March 2-3, 2024, visited the Noise and Health Association stand and filled out the noise awareness survey. Survey data from one hundred forty-three participants were analyzed retrospectively. Results: Sixty-five participants (45.5%) were female, and 78 (54.5%) were male. The most common (76.9%) participant age range was 19-39. The most common educational level of the participants (70.6%) was an associate or bachelor's degree. The correct answer rate of the participants to the questions ranged between 83.2% and 21.78%. The average rate of correct answers given by the participants to the questions was 57.05%. Conclusion: Our study observed that although most participants were university graduates, their noise awareness and knowledge levels were lower than expected. This shows a general lack of awareness and inadequate understanding of the adverse effects of noise on health. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
