Abstract

In today’s technologically advanced era, personal financial competence is critical for successful living, particularly as individuals face increasing complexities in financial decision-making. This study explores the impact of personal financial education on financial management behavior, digital financial misconceptions, and parental well-being among Generation Z in Indonesia. This quantitative study employed Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze data from 1,843 high school students across Indonesia. The study focused on the relationships between personal financial education, financial management behavior, digital financial misconceptions, and parental well-being. Data were collected through a cross-sectional survey, with instruments designed to measure each of the key variables. The findings reveal that personal financial education significantly influences financial management behavior, which in turn impacts digital financial misconceptions and parental well-being. Moreover, personal financial education directly affects both digital financial misconceptions and parental well-being, with strong indirect effects mediated through financial management behavior. The results underscore the importance of integrating comprehensive financial education into school curricula to enhance financial literacy and management behaviors. By improving financial management skills and reducing digital financial misconceptions, personal financial education can contribute to better financial outcomes and overall well-being for students and their families. This study highlights the need for educational programs that address the specific challenges posed by digital finance, ensuring that Generation Z is well-equipped to navigate the complexities of modern financial environments.

2. Financial Education in the Digitalization Era: A Bibliometric Analysis

Abstract

In the era of digitalization, financial education is essential because it is one of the most critical skills a tech-savvy generation z can acquire. Seeing the rapid change in financial access from traditional to digital today, with bibliometric approach seeks to present how financial education is needed in digital finance. It is increasingly evolving so that Generation Z does not fall into digital traps such as credit and impulsive purchases. Based on the Scopus database, 137 documents have been published from 1999 to 2022. Journals, authors, countries, articles, themes, and publication trends have been used to identify influential works, describe financial education in the era of digitalization, and identify gaps. The United States is the leading producing country with 69 documents and is also the most in citations. In addition, bibliometric analysis shows that the journal of financial counseling is the most productive journal researchers often go to on financial education; next, there is Journal of Consumer Affair. Of the 332 keywords used in the document, financial literacy, financial knowledge, and financial behavior are often identified. Recent themes identified in the last three years include financial inclusion, digital finance, and financial technology. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the state of research on financial education in digital finance for generation z in the transition period to lead to financial well-being. The results are particularly relevant for children studying financial education, given the rising levels of credit and impulsive purchases for Generation Z in the digital financial age, which exposes individuals to fast financial services and requires informed decision-making. This study helps academic researchers know the core of financial education and identify relevant areas that need to be investigated in future research. [For the full proceedings, see ED654100.]

4. The Influence of Attitude, Locus of Control, and Creativity on Entrepreneurial Tendency

Abstract

The entrepreneurial tendency is an interest of someone in entrepreneurs. This research was aimed at finding the effects of attitude, locus of control, and creativity on entrepreneurial tendency by using the linear regression analysis test as the method of data analysis. The samples were taken from the population of lecturers. The data were taken from the samples using questionnaire distribution and later were used to measure the attitude, locus of control, and lecturer’s creativity. Linear regression analysis test was conducted with normalization, homoscedasticity, multicollinearity, and path analysis to describe the lecturer’s strengths and weaknesses on the entrepreneurial tendency.

Abstract

Entrepreneurial tendency merupakan minat seseorang dalam berwirausaha. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh sikap, locus of control dan kreativitas terhadap entrepreneurial tendency dengan menggunakan metode analisis data dengan uji analisis regresi linear. Metode analisis data dilakukan dengan pengumpulan sampel dan populasi dosen yang dilanjutkan dengan memberikan kuesioner kepada dosen yang digunakan untuk mengukur nilai variabel sikap, locus of control, dan kreativitas dosen. Uji analisis regresi linear dilakukan dengan normalisasi, homokedastisitas, multikolinerlitas, dan analisis jalur. Dengan menggunakan metode-metode di atas dapat diketahui kelemahan dan kelebihan dosen terhadap entrepreneurial tendency.
