Quercetin and its metal complexes have anti-oxidation, anti-bacterial, anti-tumor, and kinds of enzymatic activities. Studies in recent years, these activities are very important for health and pharmaceutics. The purpose of this manuscript is to determine the structure-activity relations and antioxidant properties of the Quercetin and Quercetin-Co2+ chelate from a theoretical view and to be used these compounds in the treatment of the diseases. We found that Quercetin is more stable than Quercetin-Co2+ chelate but Quercetin-Co2+ chelate is more conductive and the O22-H bond of the Quercetin molecule has the highest antioxidant activity. The remarkable electron delocalization occurred between the donor (C17-C19) anti bond and acceptor (C13-C15) anti bond with 319.62 kcal/mol stabilization energy in Quercetin.

Tumor-associated microglia/macrophages (TAMs) are the main innate immune effector cells in malignant gliomas and have both pro- and anti-tumor functions. The plasticity of TAMs is partially dictated by oncogenic mutations in tumor cells. Heterozygous IDH1 mutation is a cancer driver gene prevalent in grade II/III gliomas, and IDH1 mutant gliomas have relatively favorable clinical outcomes. It is largely unknown how IDH mutation alters TAM phenotypes to influence glioma growth. Here we established clinically relevant isogenic glioma models carrying monoallelic IDH1 R132H mutation (IDH1(R132H/WT)) and found that IDH1(R132H/WT) significantly downregulated immune response-related pathways in glioma cells, indicating an immunomodulation role of mutant IDH1. Co-culturing IDH1 (R132H/WT) glioma cells with human macrophages promoted anti-tumor phenotypes of macrophages and increased macrophage migration and phagocytic capacity. In orthotopic xenografts, IDH1 (R132H/WT) decreased tumor growth and prolonged animal survival, accompanied by increased TAM recruitment and upregulated phagocytosis markers, suggesting the induction of anti-tumor TAM functions. Using human cytokine arrays that query 36 proteins, we identified significant downregulation of ICAM-1/CD54 in IDH1(R132H/WT) gliomas, which was further confirmed by ELISA and immunoblotting analyses. ICAM1 gain-of-function studies revealed that ICAM1 downregulation in IDH1(R132H/WT) cells played a mechanistic role to mediate the immunomodulation function of IDH1 (R132H/WT). ICAM-1 silencing in IDH1 wild-type glioma cells decreased tumor growth and increased the anti-tumor function of TAMs. Together, our studies support a new TAM-mediated phagocytic function within IDH1 mutant gliomas, and improved understanding of this process may uncover novel approaches to targeting IDH1 wild type gliomas.

Hypertension plays a dominant role in the development of left ventricular (LV) remodeling and heart failure, in addition to being the main risk factor for coronary artery disease. In this review, we focus on the focal geometric and functional tissue aspects of the LV septal base, since basal septal hypertrophy (BSH), as the early imaging biomarker of LV remodeling due to hypertensive heart disease, is detected in cross-sectional clinic studies. In addition, the validation of BSH by animal studies using third generation microimaging and relevant clinical observations are also discussed in the report. Finally, an evaluation of both human and animal quantitative imaging studies and the importance of combined cardiac imaging methods and stress-induction in the separation of adaptive and maladaptive phases of the LV remodeling are pointed out. As a result, BSH, as the early imaging biomarker and quantitative follow-up of functional analysis in hypertension, could possibly contribute to early treatment in a timely fashion in the prevention of hypertensive disease progression to heart failure. A variety of stress stimuli in etiopathogenesis and the difficulty of diagnosing pure hemodynamic overload mediated BSH lead to an absence of the certain prevalence of this particular finding in the population.

Diyabet hastalığı, günümüzün önemli sağlık sorunlarından biridir. Diyabet tedavisinde amaç kan şekeri dengesini sağlamak; diğer bir ifade ile kan şekeri yükselmelerini ve kan şekeri düşmelerini önlemektir. Bu dengenin sağlanması komplikasyonların gelişimini önlemek veya gelişmiş komplikasyonların seyrini yavaşlatmak açısından son derece önemlidir. İyi bir diyabet kontrolü, kan şekeri seviyesini mümkün olduğunca normale en yakın tutmak anlamına gelmektedir. Bu nedenle diyabet hastalarının kan şekeri ölçümleri ve insülin uygulaması için gerekli araç ve gereçleri yanlarında bulundurmaları bir zorunluluktur. Bu çalışmada, 7-12 yaş grubu okul dönemi diyabetli çocuklar için diyabet sırt çantası tasarlanmıştır. Öncelikle diyabetli çocuklara yönelik literatür çalışması yapılmış ve literatür araştırmasında özellikle okul dönemi çocuklarında insülin uygulamaya yönelik çalışma sonuçları değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Literatür taramasından elde edilen bilgiler doğrultusunda, yapılandırılmamış görüşme formu hazırlanarak Diyabetle Yaşam Derneği Uşak Şubesinden uzman görüşleri alınmıştır. Görüşme formu değerlendirilmiş olup ürün tasarım süreci uygulanarak diyabetli çocuklar için özel amaçlı sırt çantası tasarlanmıştır. Çalışma ile çocukların gelişim süreçleri göz önüne alınarak, diyabetli çocukları psikolojik anlamda destekleyecek, tedavi amaçlı ilaç ve materyallerin kullanımına pozitif etki yaratacak, kullanımı esnasında ebeveynlerine veya sorumlu kişilere kullanım kolaylığı sağlayacak, günün çocuk trendlerine uygun olarak diyabetli çocuklar için özel amaçlı sırt çantası tasarlanmış ve prototip olarak üretilmiştir.

Aim: We evaluated cardiovascular (CV) risk stratification for nonfunctioning adrenal incidentalomas (NFAIs) via the coronary-artery-calcium (CAC) score. Materials and Method: The participants were patients with NFAI (n = 55). They were compared to patients with chest pain, a low-intermediate Framingham-risk score, and a non-diagnostic treadmill- exercise test, which served as the control group (n = 49). Subsequently, the NFAI group was subdivided according to a CAC score of Results: Similar rates of traditional risk factors were observed between the NFAI and control groups, and lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol rates were observed in the NFAI group. The CAC score was significantly higher for the NFAI group than the control group. Glucose, potassium, adrenocorticotropic-hormone, and basal-cortisol levels were higher in those with a CAC score of ≥100. High-density-lipoprotein cholesterol estimated glomerular filtration rate and ejection fraction (EF) were higher in those with a CAC score of Discussion: Patients with a low-intermediate CV risk profile and NFAI have a higher risk of atherosclerosis when compared to patients with a low-intermediate CV risk profile, but no NFAI. Conclusion: In patients with NFAI, CAC score evaluation may be used to predict increased atherosclerosis, especially in patients of an older age with higher glucose and decreased EF.

Ova, çevresindeki fay sınırlamalı 3000 m’den yüksek dağlık alanlar (Esence ve Munzur Dağları) arasında sedimantasyon alanı oluşturan büyük bir jeomorfolojik ünitedir ve bünyesinde farklı yer şekilleri gelişmiş bulunmaktadır. Bu şekillerden biri de flüvyal aşındırma ve biriktirme süreçlerinin karşılıklı etkileşimi sonucunda birikinti şekilleri olarak kendini gösteren, yeryüzünde flüvyal topografyanın karakteristik yer şekillerinden biri olan ve yaygın olarak rastlanılan birikinti koni ve yelpazeleridir. Erzincan Ovası çevresindeki yüksek dağlık alanlardan kaynağını alan, ani eğim değişimi ve hız azalmasına bağlı olarak taşıdığı yükü bırakan akarsular batı, kuzey ve güneydeki dağ eteklerinde bir kuşak halinde birikinti koni ve yelpaze sistemleri oluşturmuştur. Yapay zekâ konusunda kaydedilen ilerlemeler günümüzde her alanda çok önemli dönüşümlere neden olmaktadır. İnşaat mühendisliği alanında da yapay zekâ, makine öğrenmesi ve yapay sinir ağları uygulamaları ve kullanımı her geçen gün artmakta ve çeşitlenmektedir. Bu gelişmelere paralel olarak, bu çalışmada, yapay sinir ağları kullanılarak köprü tasarımında kullanılan hareketli yüklerin köprü kirişlerine dağılımı için kapalı formüller elde edilmiştir. Bu formüllerde, farklı yapısal köprü parametrelerinin yanı sıra, AASHTO LRFD’de verilen denklemlerde dahil edilmemiş olan kiriş sayısı parametresi de eklenmiştir. Bu amaçla, birçok verevsiz basit mesnetli köprü modeli hazırlanarak olası tüm kamyon yükleri altında sonlu elemanlar analizleri yapılmış ve hareketli yük dağılım katsayıları elde edilmiştir. Yapay sinir ağları ile elde edilen hareketli yük dağılım faktörleri, sonlu elemanlar analiz sonuçları ile ve AASHTO LRFD’de verilmiş olan hareketli yük dağılım katsayıları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu karşılaştırmalar göstermektedir ki, sinir ağları ile elde edilen formüller dağılım faktörlerini oldukça iyi tahmin edebilmektedir.

Gıda ürünleri imalatı, geniş bir çalışma alanı ve çalışanı içermektedir. Bu çalışmada, çalışanların iş sağlığı ve güvenliğine bakış açılarının incelenmesi, faaliyetleri esnasında karşılaşabilecekleri tehlikeli durumlara karşı farkındalık durumlarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu’nun 2007- 2016 yıllarına ait verileri derlenmiş ve değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca çalışanlar için anket uygulanmış, sorular ve verilen cevaplar arasındaki anlamlılık bağları incelenmiştir. Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu 2016-2017 yılı verilerinde işyeri ver çalışan sayılarının arttığı, bununla birlikte iş kazası, meslek hastalığı ve iş göremezlik gün sayılarının da arttığı görülmektedir. Ankete katılan çalışanların 18-65 yaş sınırları dahilinde oldukları, kadın ve erkek çalışan katılımının eşit olduğu, çoğunluğun bekar ve iki yıldan fazla süredir firmada çalışmakta olduğu ve yine çoğunluğun iş güvenliği eğitimlerini işe girdikleri firmada aldıkları belirlenmiştir. Ankete katılan çalışanların yaş ve cinsiyet durumları ile mesleklerinden memnuniyetleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Çalışanların yaş, cinsiyet, iş güvenliği eğitimi almış olma durumu ve sektörde çalışma sürelerinin; çalışma ortamındaki tehlikeleri bilme, algılama üzerinde etkili bir unsur olmadığı görülmüştür.

Utopia is the result of a desire of being happy not only in the future and beyond but also in this orld of the Renaissance man who gets rid of the domination of the church, puts the mind at the centre of life, and has the joy of living. Naturally, the mind and human – centred orld is the result of design. Dystopia, on the other hand, is fed by the collapse and frustration of the philosophy of life that originated in utopia. Tahsin Yücel’s work named ‘Gökdelen’ is a novel with dystopic features. In this novel, the most prominent features of dystopia appear in space. This dystopic Istanbul is full of skyscrapers. In a sense, this space is a reflection of the anxiety of making capitalism reach its final point. Skyscrapers are a concrete indication that traditional horizontal relations have been replaced by vertical/hierarchical relations. Tahsin Yücel, who does not mention the descriptions and details about space in his novels, adopts a style that emphasizes space in Gökdelen novel. Another prominent aspect of this novel is the author’s effort to draw attention to the human being’s relationship with the environment and to the results of human-oriented orld design. As can be seen from the title of this study, we will focus on the relationship between human and environment in the novel with an eco-critical approach. Romanlarında betimlemelere, uzamla ilgili ayrıntılara pek girmeyen Tahsin Yücel, Gökdelen romanında uzamı öne çıkaran bir üslup benimser. Bu romanın bir başka öne çıkan tarafı da yazarın, insanın çevreyle olan ilişkisini, insan odaklı dünya tasarımının nihai sonuçlarına dikkat çekme çabasıdır. Çalışmanın başlığından da anlaşılabileceği gibi biz bu çalışmada ekoeleştirel bir yaklaşımla romanda insan ve çevre ilişkisine odaklanacak, distopik gelecek tasavvurlarının ekolojik kaygılarla kesiştiği alana dikkat çekmeye çalışacağız.

ChlorHexidine Digluconate [CHD] was encapsulated inside an ethylcellulose shell material [Aquacoat ECD], and then spray dried to produce mixed microparticles (MPs). The validity and functional quality of the resultant [CHD-MPs] were analyzed on vamp and lining leather which are used to manufacture shoes for diabetics. The morphology, efficiency of encapsulation and in vitro release characteristics of the [CHD-MPs] were optimized in order to impregnate [CHD-MPs] onto leather footwear for diabetics. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to characterize the [CHD-MPs] and the leathers treated with it. SEM images illustrated that the [CHD-MPs] were spherical, smooth in shape and adhered well to leather. In vitro CHD-release studies from its MPs, and for leather treated with it were performed in phosphate buffer saline at pH =7.2. There was an inherently controlled release behaviour of CHD for all the formulations on leather. Finally, microbiologic studies on leather treated with [CHD-MPs] were done. This study suggested that footwear containing [CHD- MPs] is/will improve the quality of daily life for diabetics.

Backgroud Heart responds to physiologic and pathologic conditions and sympathetic drive plays an important role. It has been documented that LV base is more dominantly affected by sympathetic drive compared to the other regions. LV base is more dominantly exposed to wall stress in the initial period of remodeling due to pressure-overload, since LV cavity is the largest at base. Basal septal hypertrophy (BSH) in cross-sectional data is associated with the early phase of hypertensive heart disease. BSH was confirmed by 3rd generation microscopic ultrasound in small animals. BSH as the closest location to increased afterload could be detected in variety of stress stimuli and result in a huge septal hypertrophy in advance cases possibly related to earlier exposure of hemodynamic stress to septal wall. Conclusion Effective geometric and functional evaluation of initial remodeling due to hemodynamic stress is important according to both human and animal data. These findings possibly contribute to early recognition of adaptive phase of hypertensive remodeling and more effective management in a timely fashion., Highlights • Microimaging provides the documentation of regional evolution of left ventricular remodeling due to hemodynamic stress prospectively beyond cross-sectional clinical findings. • Both human and animal data show that novel quantitative imaging methods provide documentation of geometric and functional details of adaptive phase during hemodynamic stress-mediated remodeling. • Basal septal hypertrophy and hyperdynamic tissue response to hemodynamic stress could improve the clinical assessment of individuals with adaptive phase.

Early recognition of hypertensive heart disease is needed to prevent macrovascular and microvascular damage. Hypertension (HTN) is a risk factor for coronary artery disease, and plays a prominent role in the development of adverse left ventricular (LV) remodeling and heart failure. Here, we review new knowledge on effects of HTN on cardiac geometry and function, obtained from multimodality cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, positron emission tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Early recognition of changes in LV geometry and function induced by HTN could identify patients at risk for end-organ damage, who could be targeted for close monitoring and intensive therapy. Basal septal hypertrophy as the early imaging biomarker at the adaptive phase may be a specific aspect not only in hypertensive heart but stress-related conditions and called stressed heart morphology.

Glioblastoma (GBM, WHO grade IV glioma) is the most common and lethal malignant brain tumor in adults with a dismal prognosis. The extracellular matrix (ECM) supports GBM progression by promoting tumor cell proliferation, migration, and immune escape. Uridine diphosphate (UDP)-glucose 6-dehydrogenase (UGDH) is the rate-limiting enzyme that catalyzes the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans that are the principal component of the CNS ECM. We investigated how targeting UGDH in GBM influences the GBM immune microenvironment, including tumor-associated microglia/macrophages (TAMs) and T cells. TAMs are the main immune effector cells in GBM and can directly target tumor cells if properly activated. In co-cultures of GBM cells and human primary macrophages, UGDH knockdown in GBM cells promoted macrophage phagocytosis and M1-like polarization. In orthotropic human GBM xenografts and syngeneic mouse glioma models, targeting UGDH decreased ECM deposition, increased TAM phagocytosis marker expression, reduced M2-like TAMs and inhibited tumor growth. UGDH knockdown in GBM cells also promoted cytotoxic T cell infiltration and activation in orthotopic syngeneic mouse glioma models. The potent and in-human-use small molecule GAG synthesis inhibitor 4-methylumbelliferone (4-MU) was found to inhibit GBM cell proliferation and migration in vitro, mimic the macrophage and T-cell responses to UGDH knockdown in vitro and in vivo and inhibit growth of orthotopic murine GBM. Our study shows that UGDH supports GBM growth through multiple mechanisms and supports the development of ECM-based therapeutic strategies to simultaneously target tumor cells and their microenvironment.

During the Mamlūk period (648-923/1250-1517), some developments such as the support of the state dignitaries for scholarly activities, the interest of the ʿulamā to the Mamlūk geography and the establishment of many scientific institutions increased the interest in scholarly activities in society. In this period of intensive scholarly activities, women also started to increasingly take part in this field, and as a result, many female scholars were trained. The fact that women scholars were encountered among the teachers of the famous scientists of the period is a clear proof of this situation. As a matter of fact, the teachers of Najm al-Dīn Ibn Fahd, one of the famous muḥaddiths and historians of the 9th (15th) century, set an obvious example for this. Sixty-seven of his four hundred ninety-seven teachers were women. Najm al-Dīn Ibn Fahd, a member of a prominent ʿulamā family of Mecca, traveled to different cities in the Mamlūk geography and took lessons from many teachers, men and women. What is more valuable for our subject is that he wrote a work called Mu’jam al-shuyūkh, which contains extremely important information about his teachers. This article tries to assess women's participation in scholarly activities and social positions in Mamlūk society, based on his female teachers. This work, made up of two parts, first deals with women’s opportunities to pursue academic studies and their subsequent contributions to science. The second part is about their position in social life which stemmed from the families they belonged to and from their marriages. In this article, in which sixty-seven female scholars of Najm al-Dīn Ibn Fahd are discussed, some important results have been reached. This look into his sixty-seven female teachers shows how widespread women’s relationships with scholarly circles were in Mamlūk society, and that especially girls of families with scholarly traditions were included in academic circles from a young age. These girls were able to get their initial education from close relatives and then they were able to connect to academic circles easily via family relationships, taking courses with many scholars including women. Women have been instrumental in the transfer of knowledge more so than its production. Their efforts both during their studies and as scholars were focused on ḥadīth transmission. It is difficult to pinpoint the exact reason why ḥadīth sciences were the focus, but one can say that the ubiquity of ḥadīth sessions and their ease of accessibility must have been a factor. It is seen that young girls who participated in these sessions were encouraged to study with older scholars, thereby acquiring a strong isnād chain and becoming a source of information in later years for the transmission of knowledge. However, it is hard to say that every woman who got some education took a role in knowledge transmission. One can even claim, based on Najm al-Dīn Ibn Fahd’s female teachers, that a lot of women in academic circles did not take a role in knowledge transmission as scholars, despite their potential. The fact that no official institutions are mentioned with regard to women’s acquisition and transfer of knowledge may be indicative of the importance of teacher-student relationships rather than institutions, or, it can be that women were more active outside of these official institutions. Also, the fact that most of Najm al-Dīn Ibn Fahd’s female teachers were all taught by several common teachers shows the liveliness of academic activity outside of official institutions. There is very little narration regarding the social lives of women who were engaged in scholarly activities. Among the most important reasons why this is so is the desire to put their scholarly competencies to the forefront. However, it is possible to get some information about their families and marriages for many of them. One can see that Najm al-Dīn Ibn Fahd’s female teachers generally married men who were also engaged in scholarship. The fact that women, especially those in the scholarly class, married from among their relatives must have been related to this. All of the married women except one have at least one child. While divorce is not too common, marrying again as a result of the death of a husband or as a result of divorce is not rare., Memlükler döneminde (648-923/1250-1517) devlet ricâlinin ilmî faaliyetleri desteklemesi, ulemânın Memlük coğrafyasına yönelimi ve çok sayıda ilmî kurumun inşa edilmesi gibi yaşanan birtakım gelişmeler, toplumda ilmî faaliyetlere olan ilgiyi daha da artırmıştır. Yoğun ilmî faaliyetlerin yaşandığı bu dönemde kadınlar da bu sahada daha fazla yer almaya başlamış ve bunun bir sonucu olarak çok sayıda kadın âlim yetişmiştir. Dönemin meşhur ilim adamlarının hocaları arasında kadın âlimlere rastlanması bu durumun açık bir ispatıdır. Nitekim 9. (15.) asrın meşhur muhaddis ve tarihçilerinden olan Necmeddin İbn Fehd’in kadın hocaları buna açık bir örnek teşkil eder. Onun dört yüz doksan yedi hocasından altmış yedisi kadındır. Mekke’nin ileri gelen bir ulemâ ailesine mensup olan Necmeddin İbn Fehd, Memlük coğrafyasındaki farklı şehirlere ilmî seyahatlerde bulunmuş, kadın-erkek pek çok hocadan dersler almıştır. Konumuz açısından daha da önemli olanı hocaları hakkında son derece önemli malumatlar içeren Mu‘cemü’ş-şüyûh isimli bir eser telif etmiş olmasıdır. Bu makalede onun kadın hocalarından hareketle Memlük toplumunda kadınların ilmî faaliyetlere katılımları ve sosyal konumları tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. İki kısımdan meydana gelen bu çalışmada öncelikle kadınların ilim tahsil etme imkanları ve sonrasında ilim hayatına sundukları katkılar ele alınmıştır. İkinci kısımda onların mensup oldukları aileler ve yaptıkları evlilikler yoluyla sosyal hayattaki konumları tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Necmeddin İbn Fehd’in altmış yedi kadın hocasının ele alındığı bu makalede birtakım önemli sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır. Bunlardan biri, Memlük toplumunda kadınların ilmî çevrelerle ilişkisinin yaygınlaşması ve özellikle ilim geleneğine sahip ailelerin kız çocuklarının çok küçük yaşlardan itibaren ilim meclislerinde yer almış olmalarıdır. Yine ulemâ ailesine mensup kız çocuklarının yakın akrabalarından ilk tahsillerini aldıkları, aile bağlantılarıyla ilmî çevrelerle kolayca irtibat kurarak aralarında kadın hocaların da bulunduğu çok sayıda âlimden ders ve icâzet elde ettikleri tespit edilmiştir. Kadınların bu dönemde bilgi üretiminden daha ziyade aktarılmasında önemli bir rol üstlendikleri görülmektedir. Onlar, hem tahsil hayatlarında hem de bir âlim olarak bilgi aktarmada hadis rivayetinde temayüz etmiştir. Hadis ilmine daha fazla ilgi gösterilmesinin sebeplerine dair doğrudan bir şey söylemek zor olsa da hadis meclislerinin çok sayıda olması ve kolay ulaşılabilirliği bu hususta önemli bir etken olmalıdır. Bu meclislere katılan kız çocuklarının, ileri yaştaki hocalardan ders almalarının teşvik edildiği, böylece ilk kaynağına en az râviyle ulaşan isnad zinciri elde etmek suretiyle daha sonraki yaşlarında bilginin aktarımında müracaat kaynağı olmalarının hedeflendiği görülmektedir. Bununla birlikte belirli bir tahsil hayatına sahip her kadının bilgiyi aktarmada rol üstlendiğini söylemek zordur. Hatta Necmeddin İbn Fehd’in kadın hocalarından hareketle ilmî çevrelerde yer alan kadınların potansiyellerine rağmen çoğunun bir hoca olarak bilginin aktarımında bulunmadığı söylenebilir. Kadınların bilgiyi edinme ve aktarmalarında resmî eğitim kurumlarına hiç işaret edilmemesi, kurumlardan ziyade hoca talebe ilişkisinin önemine dair olabileceği gibi, kadınların bu resmî kurumlar dışındaki ilmî meclislerde daha çok bulunduklarından da olabilir. Bunun yanı sıra Necmeddin İbn Fehd’in kadın hocalarının genelinin birkaç ortak hocaya sahip olması, resmî eğitim kurumları dışındaki ilmî faaliyetlerin canlılığını da göstermektedir. İlmî faaliyetler içerisinde yer alan kadınların sosyal hayatlarına dair nakiller oldukça azdır. Bunun en önemli sebepleri arasında, onların ilmî yetkinliklerinin ön plana çıkarılma gayesi yer almalıdır. Bununla birlikte önemli bir kısmının mensup oldukları aileler ve yaptıkları evliliklere dair birtakım bilgilere ulaşmak mümkündür. Nitekim Necmeddin İbn Fehd’in kadın hocalarının genel itibariyle ilimle iştigal eden kimselerle evlendiği tespit edilmiştir. Özellikle ilmiye sınıfına mensup ailelerden olan kadınların akraba çevresinden evlenmeleri de bu hususla irtibatlı olmalıdır. Biri hariç evlenen kadınların hepsi en az bir çocuk sahibidir. Boşanma yaygın olmamakla birlikte kocasının ölümü veya boşanma neticesinde yeniden evlenmeleri nadir görülen bir durum değildir.

During the Mamluk period, naib as-saltana was only second to the sultan himself and was the highest ranking officer. The duty of this powerful amir ended by different means in the Bahri Mamluk period. It is understood that their duty may end with different reasons such as death, resignation, appointment to an another post, arrestment and becaming sultan himself. In addition, it is necessary to underline that their time of office also varies. In the period of study, it is seen that the office of naib as-saltana ends with different reasons. The most important reason for their dismission is the increase of their power and their acts which disturbs the sultan and other high-ranking officials. As a result, naib as-saltana was seen as a threat to the crown, other amirs’ provocations of sultan and their incapacity were among the causes of the dismission of naib as-saltana. On the other hand, there were some naib as-saltanas who became sultans as a result of their achievements. Among the naib as-saltana, some resigned from their post, someother were appointed to other posts, the rest were killed or imprisoned or died on the post. In the Bahri Mamluks, amirs, atabek, were influential for the dismissal and appointment of naib as-saltana. After their dismissal, the naib as-saltana was appointed to the lower administrative posts such as deputy of Aleppo and Damascus. In addition, few of them were appointed to the posts outside Egypt. Among the naib as-saltana, ten were punished by imprisonment or death and four died on the post. The imprisonment penalty was applied in Alexandria and Kerek.

In the medieval Islamic world, in the leading cities such as Baghdad, Damascus and Cairo enormous hospitals being built by the dignitaries, and these structures survived for many years and served the patients. During the Mamluk period hospitals continued to build by assist of the dignitaries. Among them the hospital which first came to our mind was built by Mamluk Sultan Qalawun (678-689 / 1279-1290) at the end of the 13th century in one of the complex in Cairo. In this complex, there were the hospital along with madrasahs and mausoleums. The Qalawun hospital known as one of the prestige hospital at that time because of the abundance of revenue of its Foundation, existence of the wider opportunities and top of all there were many famous physicians working as well. In addition, this hospital has functioned as a health institution where patients being treated and as an educational institution where medical education being taught to students for centuries. Shortly after the opening of this hospital, one of the famous doctor Ibn al-Nafis’s (d. 687/1288) donation of his books to this hospital more than enough to demonstrates the importance given to medical education at the hospital. Also, some of the leading physicians of the period taught there, this had suggested that Qalawun hospital was in a favorable position for medical education. In the waqfiya which reached our day expressed clearly that patients being treated free of charge without discrimination of rich or poor in that hospital. In this paper, we will focus on around two and half centuries historical period of the Qalawun hospital. We referred to line of chronologic and biographic works along with the waqfiya in that period, and try to work on the reason for building the hospital during that period, the clinical areas where being served for treating the patients and the role of hospitals in medical education and services offered to patients.

Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is an adaptive response to physiological or pathological stimuli, and distinguishing between the two has obvious clinical implications. However, asymmetric septal hypertrophy and preserved cardiac function are noted in early stages in both cases. We characterized the early anatomic and functional changes in a mouse model of physiological and pathological stress using serial echocardiography-based morphometry and tissue velocity imaging. Weight-matched CF-1 male mice were separated into Controls ( n = 10), treadmill Exercise 1 h daily for 5 days/wk ( n = 7), and transverse aortic constriction (TAC, n = 7). Hypertrophy was noted first in the left ventricle basal septum compared with other segments in Exercise (0.84 ± 0.02 vs. 0.79 ± 0.03 mm, P = 0.03) and TAC (0.86 ± 0.05 vs. 0.77 ± 0.04 mm, P = 0.02) at 4 and 3 wk, respectively. At 8 wk, eccentric LVH was noted in Exercise and concentric LVH in TAC. Septal E/E′ ratio increased in TAC (32.6 ± 3.7 vs. 37 ± 6.2, P = 0.002) compared with the Controls and Exercise (32.3 ± 5.2 vs. 32.8 ± 3.8 and 31.2 ± 4.9 vs. 28.2 ± 5.0, respectively, nonsignificant for both). Septal s′ decreased in TAC (21 ± 3.6 vs. 17 ± 4.2 mm/s, P = 0.04) but increased in Exercise (19.6 ± 4.1 vs. 29.2 ± 2.3 mm/s, P = 0.001) and was unchanged in Controls (20.1 ± 4.2 vs. 20.9 ± 5.1 mm/s, nonsignificant). With similar asymmetric septal hypertrophy and normal global function during the first 4–8 wk of pathological and physiological stress, there is an early marginal increase with subsequent decrease in systolic tissue velocity in pathological but early and progressive increase in physiological hypertrophy. Tissue velocities may help adjudicate between these two states when there are no overt anatomic or functional differences. NEW & NOTEWORTHY Pathological and physiological stress-induced ventricular hypertrophy have different clinical connotations but present with asymmetric septal hypertrophy and normal global function in their early stages. We observed a marginal but statistically significant decrease in systolic tissue velocity in pathological but progressive increase in velocity in physiological hypertrophy. Tissue velocity imaging could be an important tool in the management of asymmetric septal hypertrophy by adjudicating between these two etiologies when there are no overt anatomic or functional differences.

(XV.) yuzyil Memluk tarihcilerinin ilimle ilgilenen kadinlari kayit altina aldiklarini soylemek gerekmektedir. Suphesiz bu durumun ortaya cikmasinda onlarin hocalari arasinda kadinlarin cok sayida olmasi da etkili olmustur. (XIV.) yuzyilda yasayan ve Hanefi mezhebine mensup Meryem’in, ilmiye sinifina mensup ailelerde genellikle goruldugu gibi cok kucuk yaslardan itibaren ilim meclislerine katilimi saglanmistir. Vasodilator-induced transient left ventricular cavity dilation (LVCD) by positron emission tomography (PET) is associated with microvascular dysfunction in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). Here we assessed whether HCM patients who develop LVCD by PET during vasodilator stress also develop LV cavity dilation by echocardiography (ECHO-LVCD) following exercise stress. A retrospective analysis of cardiac function and myocardial blood flow (MBF) was conducted in 108 HCM patients who underwent perfusion-PET and exercise-ECHO as part of their clinical evaluation. We performed a head-to-head comparison of LV volumes and ejection fraction (LVEF) at rest and stress (during vasodilator stress, post-exercise), in 108 HCM patients. A ratio > 1.13 of stress to rest LV volumes was used to define PET-LVCD, and a ratio > 1.17 of stress to rest LVESV was used to define ECHO-LVCD. Patients were divided into 2 groups based on the presence/absence of PET-LVCD. MBF and myocardial flow reserve were quantified by PET, and global longitudinal strain (GLS) was assessed by ECHO at rest/stress in the two groups. PET-LVCD was observed in 51% (n = 55) of HCM patients, but only one patient had evidence of ECHO-LVCD (ratio = 1.36)—this patient also had evidence of PET-LVCD (ratio = 1.20). The PET-LVCD group had lower PET-LVEF during vasodilator stress, but ECHO-LVEF increased in both groups post-exercise. The PET-LVCD group demonstrated higher LV mass, worse GLS at rest/stress, and lower myocardial flow reserve. Incidence of ischemic ST-T changes was higher in the PET-LVCD group during vasodilator stress (42 vs 17%), but similar (30%) in the two groups during exercise. PET-LVCD reflects greater degree of myopathy and microvascular dysfunction in HCM. Differences in the cardiac effects of exercise and vasodilators and timing of stress-image acquisition could underlie discordance in ischemic EKG changes and LVCD by ECHO and PET, in HCM.

Son yıllarda, arazi örtüsü/kullanımı değişikliklerinin ulusal ve uluslararası ölçekte tutarlı bir şekilde analiz edilmesine olanak sağlayan yeni veri kümeleri kullanıma sunulmuştur. Bunlardan biri de Avrupa ölçeğinde çevresel veri temin etmekle yükümlü olan European Environment Agency – EEA (Avrupa Çevre Ajansı) tarafından metodolojisi geliştirilen ve Türkiye’nin de içerisinde yer aldığı 39 ülkede uygulamaya alınan CORINE sistemidir. Bu çalışmada CORINE (Coordination of Information on the Environment-Çevresel Bilgi Koordinasyonu) sistemine göre Erzincan ilinde 2000-2018 yılları arasında arazi örtüsü/kullanımının mevcut durumu, arazi örtüsü kullanımında meydana gelen değişimlerin tespit edilmesi ve değişimin nedenlerinin ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Erzincan ilinde CORINE sistemine göre arazi örtüsü/kullanımı türleri belirlenmiş ve il sınırları içerisinde toplamda 2000 yılına ait 25, 2018 yılına ait 27 farklı 3. düzeyde arazi örtüsü/ kullanım kategorisi tespit edilmiştir. Bu sınıfların her iki dönem için alansal hesaplamaları yapılarak 2000-2018 yılları arasında arazi örtüsü/kullanım durumu ortaya konulmuştur. Sonuçta Erzincan ilinde 18 yıllık zaman zarfında 3020.4 km2’lik arazi örtüsü/kullanım farklılaşmasının olduğu anlaşılmıştır. İl arazi üzerinde en yaygın arazi kullanım sınıfını seyrek bitki örtüsü ile kaplı alanlar oluşturmaktadır. En çok farklılaşmanın ise çıplak kayalıklar (-847.1 km2) ve seyrek bitki örtüsüyle kaplı alanlarda (+739,9 km2) meydana geldiği tespit edilmiştir., In recent years, new data sets have been made available, which makes it possible to analyze changes in land cover/use on the national and international scale. One of them is CORINE system, the methodology of which has been developed by the European Environment Agency - EEA, which is responsible for providing environmental data throughout Europe, and put into practice in 39 countries including Turkey. The present study aims to reveal the current situation of land cover/use for the years between 2000 and 2018 in Erzincan, according to the CORINE (Coordination of Information on the Environment) system, to identify changes in land cover/use, and to determine the reasons for these changes. In Erzincan province, land cover/use types were determined according to the CORINE system and 25 different 3rd-degree land cover/use categories were determined in the year 2000, and 27 in the year 2018. The areal calculations of these classes for both periods were made and the land cover/use status was revealed for the years between 2000 and 2018. In conclusion, it was seen that there was a differentiation of land cover/use of 3020.4 km2 in Erzincan during this 18-year period. The most common use class of the lands in the province is the areas covered with sparse vegetation. It was determined that the largest differentiation occurred in bare rocks (-847.1 km2) and in areas covered with sparse vegetation (+739,9 km2).

AIMS Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a serious complication of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and is the most common cause of impaired vision for adults. DR is related to a number of risk factors. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between burden of coronary artery disease assessed by Syntax Score (SS) and DR in T2DM. METHODS A total of 96 T2DM patients undergoing coronary angiography were prospectively included in the study. Presence and severity of DR were assessed by ocular fundus examination. DR was graded as no apparent retinopathy (NDR), non-proliferative (NPDR), and proliferative DR (PDR). The SS for each patient was calculated. RESULTS The mean age was 58.0 ± 8.2 years. Bu makalenin amacı, Berkuk döneminde halkın hangi konulardaki şikâyetlerini mezâlim mahkemesine taşıdığı, devlet ricâlinin halkla yaşadığı sorunları ve dava sonuçlarında verilen cezaları ortaya koymaktır. Eyyûbîlerin devlet teşkilatı geleneğini tevarüs eden Memlüklerde tarihçiliğin oldukça gelişmiş olması, her ne kadar mahkeme kayıtları elimizde olmasa da mezâlim davalarıyla ilgili çalışma imkânı sunmaktadır. Özellikle güçlü Memlük sultanları dönemlerinde mezâlime dair kayıtlarda artış olduğu gözlerden kaçmamaktadır. Bunun önde gelen örneklerinden biri de Bahrî Memlükler dönemini sona erdirerek Burcî Memlükler dönemini başlattığı kabul edilen Sultan Berkuk dönemidir. Sultan Berkuk, selefleri gibi mezâlim oturumlarıyla yakından ilgilenmiş ve yaptığı iki düzenlemeyle de dikkat çekmiştir. Bu düzenlemelerden birincisi, mezâlim oturumlarının yapıldığı binanın değiştirilmesidir. 784 (1382) yılında tahta çıkan Berkuk, 789 (1387) yılına kadar Muhammed b. Kalavun döneminden beri kullanılan dârüladl binasında mezâlim oturumlarına başkanlık yapmış, ancak daha sonra el-Istablü’s-Sultânî’de söz konusu oturumlar tertip edilmeye başlanmıştır. Kaynaklar bu düzenlemenin neden yapıldığına dair bir bilgi aktarmamaktadır. Bununla birlikte yapılan düzenlemenin devlet ricâlini baskı altına aldığına dair değerlendirmelerde bulunmuşlardır. Mekânda yapılan bu değişim, halkın daha kolay bir şekilde şikâyetlerini mahkemeye ulaştırmasına vesile olmuştu. Bu durum göz önüne alındığında, söz konusu düzenlemeyle sultanın devlet ricâlini kontrol altında tutmak ve onlara tahakküm etmek arzusunda olduğu akla gelmektedir. Ancak özellikle saray çevresinde görevli üst düzey rütbeli emîrler hakkında sadece bir mezâlim davası tespit edilmiştir. O da yargılama neticesinde beraat etmiştir. Bu dönemde mezâlimde yargılanan emîrler, çoğunlukla Kahire dışındaki bölgelerde görevli ve düşük rütbeliydi. Bununla birlikte ilmiye sınıfında durum biraz farklıdır. Öncelikle, hakkında mezâlim davası açılan ilmiye sınıfı mensuplarının biri hariç hepsinin bir görevi mevcuttu. Ancak burada akla gelen bir diğer husus, üst düzey ümerâ sınıfının halkla arasında iyi ilişkiler geliştirmeyi başararak mezâlim oturumlarının mekânına dair yapılan değişiklikten daha az etkilenmesidir. Yine ilmiye sınıfı aleyhine açılan davalarda ümerâyla iş birliğinin olup olmadığının da araştırılması, askerî sınıfın bu şekilde kontrol altında tutulduğunu düşündürmektedir.Berkuk’un mezâlim oturumlarına dair ikinci düzenlemesi oturum günlerinin değiştirilmesi olmuştur. Berkuk, on altı yıllık iktidarı boyunca oturumların günlerini üç kez değiştirmiştir. Kuruluşundan itibaren Memlüklerde mezâlim oturumlarının pazartesi ve perşembe günleri toplanması âdetti. Berkuk bunu pazar ve çarşamba günleri olarak değiştirmiştir. Bu ilk değişikliğin kesin tarihi bilinmemektedir. Daha sonra 797 (1395) yılından itibaren salı ve cumartesi günleri mahkeme toplanmıştır. Tarihçiler, Sultanın pazar ve çarşamba günlerini emîrlerle eğlenceye ayırması dolayısıyla böyle bir değişikliğe gittiğini belirtmektedirler. Yani onlara göre, mezâlim oturumlarından bir gün sonra Sultan, emîrlerle eğlenmek için bu şekilde bir tasarrufta bulunmuştur. Ancak bu izahât, yeterince mantıklı görünmemektedir. Üçüncü değişiklik ise salı ve cumartesi günlerine ilave yapılmak suretiyle cuma günü öğleden sonra oturumların düzenlemesi şeklindedir. Bu değişiklik sultanın iktidarının son yılına rastlamaktadır. Muhtemelen Sultan, halkla olan ilişkisini daha da artırmak amacıyla mezâlim oturumlarını üç güne çıkarmış olmalıdır. Berkuk döneminde tespit edilen yirmi iki davanın onu ilmiye, dokuzu askerî sınıf mensupları aleyhinedir. Geriye kalan üç dava da Hıristiyan asıllı mühtediler aleyhinedir., The purpose of this article is to present the issues about which people applied to the maẓālim court, the problems that occured between statesmen and people, and the sentences imposed by the court in the Barquq period. The fact that Mamluks, who inherited the Ayyubid state tradition, were advanced in historiography enables the study of maẓālim court cases, even though we do not have the court records. The increase in records about maẓālim courts especially during the reigns of relatively more powerful Mamluk sultans is noteworthy. One example of this is Sultan Barquq, who is regarded as the sultan who ended the Bahri Mamluk period and ushered in the Burji Mamluk period. Sultan Barquq, like his predecessors, had been very interested in the maẓālim courts and instituted two important changes. The first of these was to change the building in which the court sessions were held. Barquq, who ascended to the throne in 784 (1382), presided over the court until 789 (1387) in the daruladl building that was used since the Muhammad b. Qalawun period, but later the court started convening in al-Istabl al-Sultani. Sources do not tell anything about why this change was made. However, there are commentaries about how this change put pressure on statesmen. This change in location made it easier for the people to bring their cases to the court. One can think that the sultan instituted this to keep statesmen under his control and to dominate them. However, one can only find one court case against a high ranking emir close to the palace and that one amir was acquitted after trial. Amirs who were tried in maẓālim in this period were usually from districts outside of Cairo and lower ranking. However, the situation is different when it comes to the scholarly class. First, among the scholars against whom there was a maẓālim court case, all but one had a position. A huge chunk were in positions of high religious and legal authority like Shafi’i Chief Justice of Damascus, Maliki Deputy Chief Justice of Cairo, Maliki Chief Justice of Alexandria, Chief Sheikh of Siryakus, and Chief Sheikh of Qawsoon, and so on. When one also considers the fact that these people lost their positions as a result of these trials, the idea that this change in location was a move against the scholarly class gains weight. However, another issue that comes to mind is that high ranking amirs may have managed to improve their relations with the people, which may have made them less affected by the change. Also, the fact that cases against the scholarly class involved investigations as to whether they had been collaborating with the amirs makes one think that the military class was kept in check through this process. The second adjustment that Barquq did to the maẓālim courts was the change to the session days. During his sixteen year reign, Barquq changed the court days three times. Since its inception, the Mamluks traditionally held their maẓālim court sessions on Mondays and Thursdays. Barquq changed this to Sundays and Wednesdays. The exact date of this first change is not known. Later, from 797 (1395) onwards, the court began convening on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Historians say that the sultan did this change because he spared Sunday and Wednesdays to entertainment with the amirs. According to them, the sultan did this change to spend the day after the court day with entertainment with the amirs. However, this explanation does not seem very plausible. The third change was to add sessions on Friday afternoon as a supplement to Tuesday and Saturday. This change coincides with the last year of the sultan’s reign. The sultan probably increased the number of days of the maẓālim courts in order to improve his relationship with the people. Of the twenty-two cases found in the Barquq period, ten were against scholars and nine against members of the military class. The remaining three were against converts of Christian origin.

First identified in the 1980s, tenascin-C (TNC) is a multi-domain extracellular matrix glycoprotein abundantly expressed during the development of multicellular organisms. TNC level is undetectable in most adult tissues but rapidly and transiently induced by a handful of pro-inflammatory cytokines in a variety of pathological conditions including infection, inflammation, fibrosis, and wound healing. Persistent TNC expression is associated with chronic inflammation and many malignancies, including glioma. By interacting with its receptor integrin and a myriad of other binding partners, TNC elicits context- and cell type-dependent function to regulate cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and angiogenesis. TNC operates as an endogenous activator of toll-like receptor 4 and promotes inflammatory response by inducing the expression of multiple pro-inflammatory factors in innate immune cells such as microglia and macrophages. In addition, TNC drives macrophage differentiation and polarization predominantly towards an M1-like phenotype. In contrast, TNC shows immunosuppressive function in T cells. In glioma, TNC is expressed by tumor cells and stromal cells; high expression of TNC is correlated with tumor progression and poor prognosis. Besides promoting glioma invasion and angiogenesis, TNC has been found to affect the morphology and function of tumor-associated microglia/macrophages in glioma. Clinically, TNC can serve as a biomarker for tumor progression; and TNC antibodies have been utilized as an adjuvant agent to deliver anti-tumor drugs to target glioma. A better mechanistic understanding of how TNC impacts innate and adaptive immunity during tumorigenesis and tumor progression will open new therapeutic avenues to treat brain tumors and other malignancies.

Bilişim teknolojileri temelinde gelişen bu devrim, ekonomik alanda köklü değişiklikleri beraberinde getirmektedir. Bu devrimin, ölçek ekonomileri ve küresel rekabet üzerinde yaratacağı etkiler, yaşanan devrimin önemini artırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada; yaşanan teknolojik gelişmelerin ve Sanayi 4.0’ın Türkiye üzerinde yaratacağı olası etkileri değerlendirilecektir.

Quantification of myocardial blood flow (MBF) by positron emission tomography (PET) is important for investigation of angina in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). Several software programs exist for MBF quantification, but they have been mostly evaluated in patients (with normal cardiac geometry), referred for evaluation of coronary artery disease (CAD). Software performance has not been evaluated in HCM patients who frequently have hyperdynamic LV function, LV outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction, small LV cavity size, and variation in the degree/location of LV hypertrophy. We compared results of MBF obtained using PMod, which permits manual segmentation, to those obtained by FDA-approved QPET software which has an automated segmentation algorithm. 13N-ammonia PET perfusion data were acquired in list mode at rest and during pharmacologic vasodilation, in 76 HCM patients and 10 non-HCM patients referred for evaluation of CAD (CAD group.) Data were resampled to create static, ECG-gated and 36-frame-dynamic images. Myocardial flow reserve (MFR) and MBF (in ml/min/g) were calculated using QPET and PMod softwares. All HCM patients had asymmetric septal hypertrophy, and 50% had evidence of LVOT obstruction, whereas non-HCM patients (CAD group) had normal wall thickness and ejection fraction. PMod yielded significantly higher values for global and regional stress-MBF and MFR than for QPET in HCM. Reasonably fair correlation was observed for global rest-MBF, stress-MBF, and MFR using these two softwares (rest-MBF: r = 0.78; stress-MBF: r = 0.66.; MFR: r = 0.7) in HCM patients. Agreement between global MBF and MFR values improved when HCM patients with high spillover fractions (> 0.65) were excluded from the analysis (rest-MBF: r = 0.84; stress-MBF: r = 0.72; MFR: r = 0.8.) Regionally, the highest agreement between PMod and QPET was observed in the LAD territory (rest-MBF: r = 0.82, Stress-MBF: r = 0.68) where spillover fraction was the lowest. Unlike HCM patients, the non-HCM patients (CAD group) demonstrated excellent agreement in MBF/MFR values, obtained by the two softwares, when patients with high spillover fractions were excluded (rest-MBF: r = 0.95; stress-MBF: r = 0.92; MFR: r = 0.95). Anatomic characteristics specific to HCM hearts contribute to lower correlations between MBF/MFR values obtained by PMod and QPET, compared with non-HCM patients. These differences indicate that PMod and QPET cannot be used interchangeably for MBF/MFR analyses in HCM patients.

Batı karşısındaki fiziksel yenilginin doğal birsonucu olarak ortaya çıkan bu süreç beraberinde günümüze kadar etkisinisürdürecek olan bir tartışmaya ve tavır alışa kaynaklık eder. Eski-yeni, geleneksel-modern gibikarşılaştırmalarla sürekli gündemde kalan bu tartışma toplumsal aradakalmışlığımızın somut göstergelerinden biri olarak ve hepsinden önemlisi kimlikoluşum sürecimizin en önemli problemi olarak varlığını korumaya devam eder. İlkşiirlerini 60’lı yıllarda kaleme alan ve 1969’da Nuri Pakdil, Rasim Özdenörenve Erdem Bayazıt’la birlikte Edebiyat Dergisini 1976’da ise Cahit Zarifoğlu,Rasim Özdenören, Erdem Bayazıt, Alaeddin Özdenören ve Ersin Gürdoğan’labirlikte Mavera dergisini çıkaran İnan bu dergileri birer edebiyat okulunadönüştürmenin gayreti içerisinde olmuştur. Gelenekten ilham alan bir yenilik yada yeniliği ihtiva eden bir gelenek anlayışıyla şiirler yazan İnan, Divan şiirigeleneğini çağın şiir anlayışıyla buluşturarak geleneği ihmal ve tekrar etmeyenyeni ve özgün bir şiir ortaya koymuştur. Birkan’ın ifadesiyle o, “Divan şiirinazım biçimini, hece veznini ve halk şiirini bir arada kullanma başarısınıgöstermiştir. Onun şiiri, bu yönüyle klasik şiirin üslup hususiyetini ve ifadekudretini modern zamana taşıyan bir şiir özelliği taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada“Edebiyat malzemesini çağından devşirerek kendini kurar. Ve bunu yaparken dünlede ilgisini sürdürür ve geleceğe uzanır. Gövdesi çağında bir eli geçmişte,öteki eli gelecektedir edebiyatın. Geçmişle ilgisini koparamaz, çünkü çağı ileilgilidir ve çağı ise germişin normal bir uzantısıdır; onun üstünekatlanmıştır” diyerek Divan şiiri ile günümüz arasında bir köprü kuran ve Türkşiirine yeni bir duyarlık kazandıran Mehmet Akif İnan’ın edebiyat ve gelenekkonusundaki görüşleri irdelenecek ve Türk şiir geleneğinin onun şiirindekiyansımaları tespit edilecektir., Emerging with the beginning of New Turkish literature,the discussion of tradition is a phenomenon that has kept its popularity tilltoday. This argument proceeds in parallel with the discussion made aboutwesternization process. Rising with the natural consequence of the physicaldefeat against the West, this process results in a discussion and a manner thathas kept its effect up to date. This discussion- which always remains on theagenda in terms of comparisons between old-new, traditional-modern- keeps itsexistence as one of the most significant social dilemmas and, above all, as themost important problem of our identity formation. Inan, who penned his earlypoems in 1960s and published Edebiyat magazine with Nuri Pakdik, RasimÖzdenören and Erdem Beyazıt in 1969 and Mavera magazine with Cahit Zarifoğlu,Rasim Özdenören, Erdem Bayazıt, Alaeddin Özdenören and Ersin Gürdoğan in 1976,made an effort to transform these literature magazines into a school ofliterature. Inan wrote with the perspective of inclusive innovation inspired bythe tradition. Bringing the tradition of Divan poetry together with the poetryconcept of the day, Inan produced an innovative and original poetry that didnot ignore and repeat the tradition. As Birkan suggests, he “achieved usingverse forms, syllabic meter and folk poetry of Divan literature hand in hand”.His poetry includes a characteristic that carries the specialty and expressionability of classical poetry into the modern day. The present study aims todetermine the reflections of Turkish poetry tradition on his poetry and analyzethe literary and traditional views of Mehmet Akif Inan who provides Turkishpoetry with sensitivity and forges a link between Divan poetry and today byasserting that: “The literature itself establishes its own material bycollecting it from the age. While doing this, he maintains its concern with thepast and reaches the future. The body of literature exists in its age and itsone hand touches the past while the other one touches the future. It cannotdisrupt the relation with the past because it is interested in its age which isan ordinary extent of the past; namely, its age is folded over its past”.
