As a kind of low temperature bulk heat storage material, calcium chloride hexahydrate has a great application prospect in heat storage and energy saving. However, the single calcium chloride hexahydrate phase change heat storage material has the disadvantages of low thermal conductivity and easy leakage when melting. Mesoporous silicon dioxide with large inner core and interpenetrating mesoporous channel structure can solve the above problems. Mesoporous silicon dioxide has the advantages of low density, low thermal expansion coefficient, low refractive index and large specific surface area. However, it has low thermal conductivity and needs to be combined with other materials with good thermal properties to enhance its thermal conductivity. MXene was used as the thermal conductivity enhancement material, mesoporous silicon dioxide was grown on its surface, and then the phase change material calcium chloride hexahydrate was loaded into it. By means of synchronous thermal analyzer and infrared thermal imager, it is proved that the heat storage performance, thermal stability and heat transfer rate of the composite phase change materials are significantly improved. The leakage of calcium chloride hexahydrate in the oven was also obviously inhibited by the carrier material. The present study proposed the use of liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry to detect the novel β-agonist phenylethanolamine A (PEA) in incurred hair samples of swine and sheep and to assess its accumulation for residue monitoring. The method showed good percent recoveries ranging from 93.2% to 102% and good coefficient of variation at <15%. The experiment was conducted in swine (24 treated and 4 controls) and sheep (3 treated and 1 control). PEA concentration was determined in hair during the treatment. High residue concentrations were present in hair as early as Day 24 (14.8 ± 3.6 and 25.8 ± 7.6 ng/g) and Day 21 (23.4 ± 6.6 ng/g) for swine and sheep; these residues persisted until withdrawal on Days 14 and 21. Results showed high PEA accumulation in hair, thereby indicating the use of hair as a matrix in the control of PEA abuse in farm animals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Periodontal disease is a common disorder affecting a wide range of people and has a high prevalence globally. Periodontitis comprises a series of inflammatory conditions affecting periodontal support tissue, which could ultimately lead to tooth loss and reduce life quality and add to the financial burden of society. Matrix metalloproteinase-12 (MMP-12) is an elastase that is produced mostly by macrophages and could degrade a wide spectrum of extracellular matrix (ECM) and also contribute to several systematic pathological conditions. Recently, researchers have reported higher expression of MMP-12 in chronic periodontitis patients. However, there are few reports on the role of MMP-12 in periodontitis pathogenicity, and the interaction between MMP-12, periodontal pathogens, and periodontal tissues remains unclear. In this review, we introduce the potentially unique role of MMP-12 in the context of periodontal inflammation earlier, summarize the possible effects of MMP-12 on the pathological process of periodontitis and the interaction of host response under the challenge of various inflammatory factors, and provide possible diagnostic and therapeutic strategies targeting MMP-12 for the management of periodontitis. Lignin nanoparticles (LNPs) loaded with silver nanoparticles have exhibited significant application potential in antibacterial and catalytic fields. However, the high solubility of LNPs in silver ammonia solution makes it difficult to achieve the reduction of Ag + and the adsorption of silver nanoparticles. In this study, a protecting agent, terephthalic aldehyde (TA) is used to block lignin condensation and introduce aldehyde groups onto the lignin molecular backbone during lignin extraction. Furthermore, the TA stabilized lignin (TASL) is cross-linked with bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (BADGE) to enhance its alkali resistance performance and subsequently prepared into alkali-resistance BADGE- TASL hybrid LNPs (BADGE- TASL hy-LNPs) by anti-solvent precipitation and self-assembly. Because the presence of a large number of aldehyde groups in TASL compensates for the loss of phenolic hydroxyl groups caused by crosslinking reactions, a high loading of silver nanoparticles of 54.00% is obtained after redox reaction and adsorption in silver ammonia solution. When the BADGE-TASL hy-LNPs@Ag is used as an antibacterial agent, its inhibition efficiency reached ≈99%. Besides, the BADGE-TASL hy-LNPs@Ag can serve as a printing material for the preparation of conductive printing ink.
