From May to October, time dependent differences with two weeks intervals in juglone (5-Hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinon) and total phenolic content of the leaves of five walnut (Juglans regia L.) cultural varieties grown in Turkey (cv. Sebin, cv. Yalova-2, cv. Yalova-3, cv. Yalova-4 and cv. 1974/7) were investigated. Juglone and phenolic contents were determined by spectrophotometric methods. Correlations between juglonephenolic content, juglone-climatic factors and phenolic content-climatic factors were also established. In conclusion, there were significant differences between the varieties and the highest values of both juglone and phenolic content were recorded in Yalova-2 cultivar among the varieties. For example, maximum juglone content was determined in Yalova-2 (3,51 mg/g) but minimum in Yalova-4 (2,26 mg/g). Maximum phenolic content was also determined in Yalova-2 (51,8 mg/g), but minimum phenolic level was seen in 1974/7 cultivar (49,3 mg/g), as a mean. On the other hand, both juglone and phenolic content were generally higher from middle of August to middle of September and the lowest levels were seen in May. Further, while a significant positive correlation between juglone and phenolic contents of the leaves was found, there was almost no significant correlation between juglone and climatic factors except a significant negative correlation between phenolic content and wind speed in Yalova-2 cultivar. © Mattioli 1885.

Ceviz, yüksek oranda yağ ve protein içerdiğinden besleyici değeri oldukça yüksektir. Ceviz yağının en önemli özelliği ise doymamış yağ asitlerince oldukça zengin olmasıdır. Ceviz yağında linoleik asidin fazla olması cevizi eşi bulunmaz bir gıda yapmaktadır. Ayrıca bileşiminde yer alan biyolojik kalitesi yüksek protein, vitamin ve mineraller besleyici değerini arttırmaktadır. Son epidemiolojik çalışmalar, ceviz tüketiminin kardiyovasküler ölümleri azatlığını göstermektedir. Cevizin bu özelliğinin içerdiği polifenollerin antioksidan özelliğinden kaynaklandığı ifade edilmektedir.

Tekniğine uygun tarımı uygulayabilmek, işleri zamanında ve düşük maliyetle yapabilmek, standart ve kaliteli ürün elde edebilmek için ceviz yetiştiriciliğinde mekanizasyon uygulamalarının gerekliliği açıktır. Özellikle cevizin hasat işlemleri hem maliyetinin ve işgücünün yüksek ve hem de işlemlerin tekniğine uygun olarak yapılabilmesi için zamanın çok kısıtlı olması nedeniyle ülkemizde imalatı, bakımı, onarımı ve kullanımı kolay, maliyeti düşük, ülkemiz koşullarında uygulanabilirliği yüksek olan hasat makinalarına ihtiyaç vardır. Bu nedenlerle, bu çalışmada, ülkemiz koşullarına uyarlanabilmesi açısından bir gövde sarsıcı hasat makinası satın alınmış ve dal sarsıcı hasat makinası yaptırılmıştır. Bu amaç için, gelişmiş ülkelerde yaygın olarak kullanılan ve sanayi halinde olan hasat işlemlerinin ülkemizde de kolayca yapılabilmesi için yukarıda sözü edilen makinalar temin edilerek projede kullanılmış ve çalışmadan elde edilen veriler ışığında üreticilerimizin hizmetine sunulmuştur. Satın alınan gövde sarsıcı hasat makinası yapılan ön çalışmalar sonucu, tutma pensesi kapanma aralığı 20 cm’den sıfıra indirilmiştir. Dal sarsıcı hasat makinası genliği 7 farklı ölçüde ayarlanabilir hale getirilmiştir. Deneme bahçesinde ağaç taç hacmi, gövde ve taç yüksekliği, gövde çapı gibi bazı ağaç özellikleri tesbit edilmiştir. Olgunlaşma zamanında meyve kopma kuvvetleri dinamometre ile ölçülmüş, ethephone’un etkisi tespit edilmiştir. Gövde sarsıcı, dal sarsıcı makinalar ve sırıkla hasat yapılmış, yöntemlerin etkinlikleri ve zaman kıyaslamaları yapılmıştır. Yapılan çalışmalarda ceviz hasadında gövde sarsıcı hasat makinası kullanmanın daha avantajlı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu araştırma TÜBİTAK Kamag 106 G 152 Nolu proje ile desteklenmiştir.

öz BAZI ŞEFTALİ ÇEŞİTLERİNDE MEYVE SEYRELTME SIKLIĞININ ÇİÇEK TOMURCUKLARININ GELİŞİMİ, VERİMLİLİK ve MEYVE KALİTESİ ÜZERİNE ETKİLERİ Bu araştırma 1994-1996 yıllan arasında, Bursa yöresinin bazı önemli şeftali çeşitlerinde farklı derecelerdeki seyreltme uygulamalarının verim, meyvelerin kalite özellikleri, çiçek tomurcuğu oluşumu ve tomurcukların içsel gelişimi üzerine etkilerini saptamak amacıyla yapılmış ve aşağıdaki sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Meyve ağırlığı ve büyüklüğü seyreltmeye bağlı olarak değişmiş, Dixired, Redhaven ve J.H.Hale çeşitlerinde ürün yükü arttıkça, kısmi bir azalma eğilimi göstermiş, genellikle 4 ve 5 meyveli uygulamalar diğer uygulamalara göre daha düşük değerler vermiş, Early Red çeşidinde ise bazı uygulamalarda pozitif yönde bir değişim görülmüştür. Genellikle daha büyük meyve veren seyreltme uygulamalarındaki et/çekirdek oranı daha yüksek bulunmuş, özellikle yıllara göre değişmekle birlikte bu durum Redhaven ve J.H.Hale çeşitlerinde belirgin ve bazen önemli olmuştur. SEKM miktarı seyreltmeye bağlı olmakla birlikte genellikle 2 meyveli uygulamalar en yüksek değerleri vermiştir. pH değerleri, bazı yıl ve çeşitlerde ürün yükü arttıkça, kısmen yükselme eğilimi göstermiş ancak bu eğilim önemli ve tüm çeşitlerde kararlı olmamıştır. Ürün yükü arttıkça çeşitlerin asıtlık değerlerinde de bazen kısmi bir artış olmuştur. Meyve eti sertliği değerleri uygulamalara göre istikrarlı bir değişim göstermemiştir. Toplam şeker ve buna paralel olarak da invert şeker miktarlarında uygulamalara bağlı olarak belirgin farklılıklar saptanmamıştır. Gövde kesit alanına düşen verimde en yüksek değerleri daha fazla meyve bırakılan uygulamalar, genellikle de 4 ve 5 meyveli uygulamalar vermiştir. Meyve ağırlığı ile verim değerleri arasında 8 yaşlı ağaçlarda negatif yönde, 6 yaşlı ağaçlarda ise Early Red çeşidinde goble şeklinde daha belirgin olarak pozitif yönde bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Sürgün boylarındaki değişim, uygulamalara göre belirgin bir azalma eğilimi göstermemiş, ancak 5 meyveli uygulamalar diğer uygulamalara göre daha düşük değerler vermiştir. Birim uzunluktaki sürgün sayısı, ürün artışına paralel olarak azalmıştır. Çiçek tomurcuğu sayısı, dallarda bırakılan meyve sayısı arttıkça azalma eğilimi göstermiş ancak bu durum Early Red çeşidinde belirgin olmamıştır. ABSTRACT THE EFFECTS OF THINNING SEVERITY ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF FLOWER BUDS; PRODUCTIVITY AND FRUIT QUALITY IN SOME PEACH CULTTVARS This research was conducted between the years 1994-1996 with the aim of finding out the effects of thinning applications at different degrees in some important peach cultivars in Bursa on yield, quality characteristics of fruit, formation of flower buds and inner development of the buds, and the following results were obtained: Fruit weight and size changed in accordance with thinning, in cvs. Dixired, Redhaven and JÜHale, the weight and size had a partial tendency of decrease when crop load increased. The application of 4 or 5 fruits per shoot generally decreased fruit weight much more than the other applications, but a positive change was observed in some applications with regard to cv. Early Red. In many cases, the flesh/seed ratio was found to be higher in thinning applications which resulted in bigger fruit, and especially, although having changed according to years, mis case was noticeable and sometimes significant in cvs. Redhaven and J.RHale. Despite the feet that WSS amount was dependent on thinning, in general, 2 fruits/shoot applications led to higher values. In some years and cvs, pH values had a partial tendency of rise when crop load increased, but mis tendency was not important, and it was not fixed in all cvs. Sometimes a partial rise took place in acidity values of the cvs. together with the increase in crop load. The values of firmness of fruit flesh did not result in a stable change according to the applications. Total and invert sugar amounts were not changed significantly, according to the applications, m the yield quantities per trunk cross sectional area and per tree, the applications which left more fruit, and mostly 4 and 5 fruits/shoot applications, resulted in me highest values. A negative relationship was found between fruit weight and yield in 8 year old trees, but having been more noticeable in cv. Early Red when vase training system was practised, a positive relationship was found out in 6 year old trees. In general the change in shoot length was not significantly decreased by the applications, but 5 fruits/shoot applications had a lower value in this respect. The number of shoot per unit length of shoot, decreased parallel to crop rise. The number of flower buds had a tendency of decrease when the number of fruit left on the branches increased, but this tendency was not remarkable in cv. Early Red. A remarkable difference dependent on thinning was not observed in the inner development of the fruits buds. Keywords: Peach, thinning, flower bud. 144

T Bu araştırmada verime yatmamış Amasya elma çeşidi ağaçlarına uygulanan paclobutrazol un topuz ve dolayısıyle çiçek tomurcuğu oluşumu üzerine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Uygulamalar 1990 yılında tomurcuklarda ayırımın başlamasından önce, yaz büyüme periyodunda 1000, 2000 ve 3000 ppm dazlarda yapılmıştır. İlk uygulamadan 12 gün sonra 1000 ppm lik doz ikinci kez uygulanmıştır. 2x1000 2000 ve 3000 ppm lik dozlar, terminal ve lateral.sürgün sayılarını: önemli ölçüde azaltmış, dolaylı yaldan sürgün boylarını kısaltmış-, tır. Ağaç birim hacmine ve birim gövde kesit alanına düşen spur sayısı üzerine paclobutrazol uygulamalarının, uygulamanın yapıldığı yıldaki etkileri istatistiki olarak önemli bulunmamıştır. Ertesi büyüme mevsiminde yapılan değerlendirmelere göre bir spura düşen sürgün boyu dikkate alındığında en iyi soncu 2xlQQ0 ppm lik doz vermiş bir başka değerlendirme de ise 10 cm daldaki spur sayısını arttırma bakımından en iyi sonuçları 3000 ppm ve 2x1000 ppm lik dozlar vermiştir. 2x1000 ppm lik uygulama 1 ve 2 yaşlı dal larda sürgün ve kargı oluşumunu 2000 ppm lik uygulama ise 1 yaşlı dallar daki kargı oluşumunu büyük ölçüde engellemiştir. Değişik paclobutrazol konsantrasyonlarının uygulamayı takip eden kış dinlenme periyodu sırasında 1 ve 2 yaşlı dalların kabuk dokularındaki toplam karbonhidrat ve azot kapsamı ile C/N oranlarına etkisi farklı olmamıştır. ABSTRACT In this study, the effects of paclabutrazal applied to nanbearing Amasya apple trees an spur and hence flower bud formation were investigated. The applications were conducted in 1990 before the commencement of flower initkıtinn during summer growth period at 1000 2000 and 3000 ppm concentrations. The 1000 ppm dose was repeated 12 days after the fist application. The doses of 2x1000,2000 and 3000 ppm significantly decreased the number of terminal and lateral shoots and indirectly shortened the shoot size. The effect of paclobutrazol applications on the number of spurs per unit volume of trees and unit trunk cross section area in the year of application were not found significant statistically. According to the assessment made in the :fallowing growth season, considering the shoot size per spur, 2x1000 ppm concentration gave the best result. In another assessment, 3000 ppm and 2x1000 ppm doses gave the best results with respect to increasing the spur number per 10 cm of branch. 2x1000 ppm application inhibited the shoot and small shoot formation on 1 year 2 year- old branches whereas 2000 ppm application inhibited the small shoot formation on 1 year-old branches. The effects of different paclobutrazol concentrations on the total carbohydrate and nitrogen contents in the bark tissues of 1 and 2 year-old branches and on C/N ratio during the winter rest period after application were not different. 53

Bu araştırma, şeftalide farklı terbiye sistemlerinin ülkemiz koşullarında uygulanabilirliğini belirlemek amacıyla ülkemiz şeftali yetiştiriciliğinin önemli merkezlerinden biri olan Bursa’da 2017-2020 yılları arasında yapılmıştır. Çalışmada Vazo, Vazo Katalan, Tri-V, Perpendicular-V, Quad-V, Tatura, Merkezi Lider ve İnce iğ terbiye sistemleri, “GxN15” (Garnem) anacı üzerine aşılanmış, farklı hasat dönemlerine sahip, “Extreme® 314”, “Extreme® 436” ve “Extreme® 568” şeftali çeşitleri ile kurulan bahçede uygulanmış ve sistemlerin ağaçların fenolojik safhaları, vejetatif gelişimleri, verim, meyve kalite kriterleri ve üretim maliyetleri üzerine etkileri belirlenmiştir. Çalışma sonunda elde edilen bulgulara göre terbiye sistemlerinin ağaçların vejetatif gelişimi üzerine etkilerinin farklı olduğu görülmüştür. Bu farklılık budamaya duyulan ihtiyacı dolayısıyla da sistemlere göre yaz ve kış budama artığı miktarlarını etkilemiştir. En yüksek budama artığı miktarı Vazo ve en düşük Tatura sisteminden elde edilmiştir. Terbiye sistemlerinin ağaç başına ve dekara verim üzerine etkileri incelendiğinde, Vazo, Vazo Katalan, Tri-V ve Quad-V gibi sistemlerin ağaç başına daha yüksek, Tatura, Perpendicular-V ve Merkezi Lider sistemlerinin ise birim alana daha fazla meyve verdiği belirlenmiştir. Meyve iriliği üzerine terbiye sistemlerinin etkisi önemli bulunmuş, en iri meyveler Vazo, en küçük meyveler ise Perpendicular-V ve Tatura sistemlerinden elde edilmiştir. Terbiye sistemlerinin farklılıklarını ortaya koymak için incelenen parametrelerden elde edilen verilere göre Bursa koşullarında Perpendicular-V ve Tatura sistemlerinin öne çıktığı bu sistemlerin Vazo sistemine alternatif sistemler olabilecekleri kanaati oluşmuştur. This research was carried out between 2017-2020 in Bursa, one of the important centers of peach cultivation in our country, in order to determine the applicability of different peach cultivation systems. In the study, three peach varieties with different harvest periods, “Extreme® 314”, “ Extreme® 436” and “Extreme® 568” which were grafted on “GxN15” (Garnem) rootstock have been trained by Vase, Vase Catalan, Tri-V, Perpendicular-V, Quad-V, Tatura, Central Leader and Slender Spindle systems. The effects of the systems on the phenological stages of the trees, vegetative development, yield, fruit quality criteria and production costs were determined. According to the findings obtained at the end of the study, it was seen that the effects of the cultivation systems on the vegetative growth of the trees were different. This difference affected the need for pruning and thus the amount of summer and winter pruning residues according to the systems. The highest amount of pruning residue was obtained from the Vase and the lowest Tatura system. When the effects of training systems on yield per tree and unit area were examined, it was determined that systems such as Vase, Vase Catalan, Tri-V and Quad-V yielded higher fruit per tree, while Tatura, Perpendicular-V and Central Leader systems yielded more fruit per unit area. The effect of training systems on fruit size was found to be significant, the largest fruits were obtained from Vase, and the smallest fruits were obtained from Perpendicular-V and Tatura systems. According to the data obtained from the parameters examined to reveal the differences of the training systems, it was concluded that these systems, in which the Perpendicular-V and Tatura systems performs well, and they could be alternative systems to the Vase system in Bursa conditions.

Bu çalışma Fernette×Howard, Fernette×Chandler, Fernor×Chandler, Howard×Chandler Howard×Fernor, Fernor×Howard, Howard×Fernette ve Fernor×Fernette kombinasyonlarından elde edilmiş 155 F1 bireyin geç yapraklanma, erken yaşta meyveye yatma, erken yaprağını dökme ve kısa vejetasyon süresi yönünden, Chandler çeşidi kontrol çeşit olarak kullanılarak, değerlendirilmesi amacıyla 2017-2021 arasında Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Bahçe Bitkileri Bölümü’ne ait Araştırma ve Uygulama bahçesinde yürütülmüştür. Yapılan değerlendirmeler sonunda F1 genotipler arasında Chandler’la aynı tarihte ve daha geç yapraklanan 137; meyve veren 110; hem Chandler’dan geç yapraklanan hem de erken meyve veren 83; vejetasyon süresi kısa, geç yapraklanan ve meyve veren 28 genotip belirlenmiştir. Yapraklanma zamanına göre gruplandırmada F1 genotiplerin %0,6’sı “Erken”, %11,5’i “Erken orta”, %35,9’u “Orta”, %39,7’si “Orta geç”, %0,6’sı “Geç” ve %11,5’i ise “Çok geç” grubunda yer almıştır. F1genotiplerin; birinci yaşta %3,2’si, ikinci yaşta %17,4’ü, üçüncü yaşta %24,5’i, dördüncü ve beşinci yaşta %52,9’u, altıncı yaşta ise %67,1’inde dişi çiçek oluşmuştur. Ayrıca F1’lerin %85’inin Chandler’dan daha kısa vejetasyon süresine sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Yaprak döküm zamanına göre yapılan gruplandırmada F1 genotiplerin %2,6’sı “Erken”, %53,2’si “Orta” ve %43,6’sı “Geç” grubunda yer almıştır. F1 genotiplerde kabuklu meyve ağırlığının 7,30 g ile 21,94 g arasında, iç meyve ağırlığının 3,49 g ile 8,55 g arasında, randımanlarının %36,37 ile %57,26 arasında, kabuk kalınlığının 1,09 mm ile 2,48 mm arasında dağılım gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Çalışma sonunda farklı özellikler yönünden değerlendirilen genotiplerden Chandler çeşidinden +5 gün ve daha geç yapraklanan, -10 gün ve daha erken yaprak döken, erken meyveye yatma özelliğine sahip, kabuklu meyve ağırlıkları 10,65 g ile 15,22 g arasında, iç meyve ağırlıkları 4,41 g ile 6,98 g arasında olan 4 genotip (64-11,64-14, 68-1, 12-9) ümitvar olarak görülmüştür. Çalışma cevizde melezleme ıslahı ile elde edilen F1 genotiplerin değerlendirilmesi ve potansiyel olarak yeni bir melez ceviz çeşidinin ıslah edilme çalışmalarının temelini oluşturması ve ülkemizde yapılan az sayıda çalışmadan birisi olması açısından önemlidir. In the study conducted between 2017-2021 at Bursa Uludag University Horticulture Department Research and Application Center, 155 F1 individuals, which were obtained from Fernette×Howard, Fernette×Chandler, Fernor×Chandler, Howard×Chandler Howard×Fernor, Fernor×Howard, Howard×Fernette and Fernor×Fernette combinations, were aimed to evaluate and make preliminary selections in terms of late leafing, early fruiting, early defoliation and short vegetation period. Molecular characterization of some F1s were also determined. As a result, 137 genotypes, which foliate on the same date as Chandler and later; 110 genotypes which bear fruit; 83 genotypes both late leafing and early fruiting from Chandler; 28 late leafing and fruiting genotypes which have short vegetation period; 4 genotypes (64-11, 64-14, 68-1,12- 9) which stand out compared to other genotypes in terms of phenological features, were determined. According to foliation time, 0.6% of F1 genotypes were “Early”, 11.5% “Early medium”, 35.9% “Medium”, 39.7% “Mid late”, 0.6% of them were in the “Late” and 11.5% of them were in the “Too late” group. F1genotypes; female flowers were formed in 3.2% at the first age, 17.4% at the second age, 24.5% at the third age, 52.9% at the fourth and fifth age, and 67.1% at the sixth age. It was also determined that 85% of F1s had a shorter vegetation period than Chandler. In the grouping made according to the time of defoliation, 2.6% of the F1 genotypes were in the "Early", 53.2% in the "Middle" and 43.6% in the "Late" group. In F1 genotypes, the weight of the nut with shell is between 7.30 g and 21.94 g, the kernel weight varied between 3.49 g and 8.55 g, the kernel percentage varied between 36.37% and 57.26%, the shell thickness varied between 1.09 mm and 2.28 mm. In the superior 4 genotypes (64-11, 64-14, 68-1, 12-9) determined to have leafing 5 days or more, deciduous 10 days and earlier from Chandler, and early fruiting genotypes, the fruit weight varied between 10.65 g and 15.22g. It was determined that the kernel weight varied between 4.41 g and 6.98 g. Finally, this study is important in terms of obtaining and evaluating a new F1 genotype by crossbreeding in walnut and forming the basis of breeding studies of a potential new hybrid walnut variety. Organik tarımsal üretimde kimyasal madde kullanımı yasaklanmıştır. Vejetatif çoğaltma tekniği olarak yaygın şekilde çeliklerin köklenmesinde kimyasal içerikli büyümeyi düzenleyici maddeler kullanılmaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasında organik yetiştiriciliğe uygun materyal ve yöntemlerin çeliklerin köklenmesi üzerine etkileri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla Garnem ve GF 677 çelikleri Aloe vera jel, tarçın tozu, Aloe vera jel+Bal+Tarçın tozu gibi organik maddeler, farklı DC elektrik voltları (16-32-64volt) ve elektrik uygulama süreleri (6-12saat), IBA ile muamele edilmiş çeliklerin köklenme oranı (%), kök sayısı (adet), kök uzunluğu (cm), kallus oluşumu ve sürgün uzunluğu (cm) üzerine etkileri değerlendirilmiştir. Garnem çeliklerinde; en yüksek köklenme oranı (%83,33) ve kök sayısı (6,3adet) 2000ppm IBA uygulamasında olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bunu takip eden köklenme oranı (%53,33) ve kök sayısı (%3,7adet), 6 saat 16 volt DC elektrik uygulamasında başarılı bulunmuştur. Kök uzunluğu bakımından en başarılı; tarçın tozu (6,14cm) ve 12 saat 32volt DC elektrik uygulaması (5,89cm), sürgün uzunluğu bakımından ise Aloe vera jel uygulaması (6,52cm) ve 64 volt DC elektriğin 6 saat ve 12 saat uygulanması (6,61cm) yüksek performans göstermiştir. GF 677 çeliklerinde en yüksek köklenme oranı (%33,33) ve kök sayısı (3,2adet) 2000ppm IBA uygulamasından elde edilmiştir. Bunu takip eden köklenme oranı (%30) ve kök sayısıyla (2,5adet) 12 saat 32volt DC elektrik uygulaması başarılı bulunmuştur. Kök uzunluğu üzerine Aloe vera jel uygulaması (5,2cm), sürgün uzunluğunda 2000ppm IBA (3,39cm) uygulamasından sonra tarçın tozu (3,05cm) başarılı olmuştur. Organik tarıma yönelik vejetatif çelikle üretimde Garnem anaçlarında 6 saat 16 volt DC elektrik uygulaması, GF 677 anacında ise 12 saat 32 volt DC elektrik uygulamasının başarılı bir şekilde uygulanabileceği ortaya koyulmuştur. The use of chemicals in organic agricultural production is prohibited. As a vegetative propagation technique, chemical growth regulators are widely used for rooting cuttings. In this thesis, it was tried to determine the effects of materials and methods suitable for organic cultivation on the rooting of cuttings. For this purpose, Garnem and GF 677 cuttings were treated with organic materials such as Aloe vera gel, cinnamon powder, Aloe vera gel+Honey+Cinnamon powder, different DC electric volts and electric application times and IBA. The effects of the applied cuttings on the rooting rate (%), root number (pcs), root length (cm), callus formation and shoot length (cm) were evaluated. Garnem cuttings which was determined that the highest rooting rate (83,33%) and number of roots (6,3pcs) was determined with 2000ppm IBA application. The subsequent rooting rate (53,33%) and root number (3,7%) were found to be successful in 6 hours of 16volt DC electricity application. The most successful performance in terms of root length; cinnamon powder (6,14cm) and 12 hours 32volt DC electricity application (5,89cm) and in terms of shoot length, the application of Aloe vera gel (6,52cm) and the application of 64volt DC electricity for 6 hours and 12 hours (6,61cm) showed high performance. The highest rooting rate (33,33%) and root number (3,2pcs) in GF 677 cuttings were obtained from 2000ppm IBA application. Following this, the rooting rate (30%) and the number of roots (2,5pcs) were found to be successful with 32volt DC electricity application for 12 hours. Aloe vera gel application on the root length (5,2cm) additionally 2000ppm IBA (3,39cm) and cinnamon powder (3,05cm) applications were successful in shoot length, respectively. It has been revealed that 6 hours of 16volt DC electricity application in Garnem rootstocks and 12 hours of 32 volt DC electricity application in GF 677 rootstock can be successfully applied in production with vegetative cuttings for organic agriculture.

Bu çalışma, 2017 yılında Juglans regia L. anacına aşılı olarak dikilen Chandler ceviz çeşidine ait fidanlara uygulanan farklı budamaların ağaç gelişimi ve verim üzerine etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada fidanlara, minimum budama, geleneksel budama, göz seçimi ve budama yapılmayan olmak 4 farklı budama uygulaması yapılmıştır. Budama uygulamalarının etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla ağaçlarda büyüme, gelişme, verim ve meyve kalitesine yönelik parametrelerde değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Elde edilen verilere göre, bakım koşullarının iyi olduğu bahçelerde, Chandler ceviz çeşidine ait ağaçlarda budama yapılmayan ağaçların gelişim ve verim açısından diğer uygulamalara göre daha iyi olduğu görülmüştür. Meyve kalitesi açısından yapılan değerlendirmelerde yine uygulamalar arasında önemli farklılıkların olmadığı, bazı parametrelerde ise budama yapılmayan ağaçların diğer uygulamalara göre daha iyi sonuçlar verdiği belirlenmiştir. 3 yıllık veriler değerlendirildiğinde, özellikle sulama ve gübreleme yönünden optimum koşulların sağlandığı bahçelerde, Chandler çeşidi ağaçlarının budama yapılmadan yetiştirilebileceği bunun da özellikle ilk yıllarda üreticiye zaman, maliyet avantajı ve karlılık sağlayacağı düşüncesi oluşmuştur. This study was carried out to determine the effects of different pruning on tree growth and yield on seedlings of Chandler walnut cultivar grafted on Juglans regia L. rootstock in 2017. In the study, 4 different pruning applications were applied to the seedlings, minimum pruning, traditional pruning, bud selection/pruning and unpruned. In order to determine the effects of pruning practices, evaluations were made on the parameters of growth, development, yield and fruit quality in trees. According to the data obtained, it has been observed that the trees of the Chandler walnut variety, which are not pruned, in the gardens where the maintenance conditions are good, are better in terms of growth and yield than the other applications. In the evaluations made in terms of fruit quality, it was determined that there were no significant differences between the applications, and in some parameters, trees without pruning gave better results than other applications. When the 3-years data is evaluated, it has been thought that Chandler variety trees can be grown without pruning, especially in orchards where optimum conditions are provided in terms of irrigation and fertilization, and this will provide time, cost advantage and profitability to the producer, especially in the first years.

Bu çalışmada, aşılı köklü incir fidanı üretiminde farklı anaç adaylarının aşı tutma ve sürgün gelişimi üzerine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada 3 dişi ve 3 erkek incir genotipinden alınan çelikler anaç olarak kullanılmış, bunlar üzerine 1 yaşlı sürgünlerden alınan Bursa Siyahı çeşidi (Ficus carica L.) kalemleri Aralık ve Şubat ayı olmak üzere 2 farklı dönemde ve dilcikli aşı yöntemi kullanılarak aşılanmıştır. Aşılı çelikler köklendirme ortamına dikilmeden önce Kontrol (su uygulaması) ve 500 ppm IBA ile muamele edilmiştir. Aşılı çelikler 60 günün sonunda köklendirme ortamından sökülmüş ve aşı tutma oranı (%), köklenme oranı (%), kök sayısı (adet), kök uzunluğu (mm) ve sürgün uzunluğu (mm) parametreleri yönünden değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda en yüksek aşı tutma ve köklenme oranı (%100) Şubat döneminde aşılanan ve 500 ppm IBA uygulanan E2 çeliklerinde görülmüştür. En yüksek kök sayısı 29,4 adet ile Şubat ayı döneminde alınan ve 500 ppm IBA uygulanan D2 anacı çeliklerinden elde edilmiştir. Kök uzunluğu en yüksek 61,48 mm ile Aralık döneminde kontrol grubu E3 anacı çelikleri üzerine aşılı bitkilerde ölçülmüştür. Sürgün uzunluğu en yüksek 117,85 mm ile 500 ppm IBA uygulanan ve Aralık döneminde alınan E3 anacına aşılı bitkilerden elde edilmiştir. Tüm parametreler değerlendirildiğinde Şubat ayında aşılanan çeliklerin daha iyi performans gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. IBA uygulaması, yaşayan bitki oranı üzerine olumlu etkisi olmuştur. Yaşayan bitki oranı, erkek genotiplerden E3 (%45,55) ve dişilerde ise D2 (%54,44) genotipine ait bitkilerden elde edilmiştir. In this study, the effects of different rootstock candidates on grafting and shoot development were investigated in the production of grafted rooted fig saplings. In the study, cuttings taken from 3 female and 3 male genotypes were used as rootstock, and Bursa Siyahı (Ficus carica L.) cuttings taken from 1-year-old shoots were grafted onto these genotype cuttings. It was grafted in two different periods, in December and February, using the tongue grafting method. Grafted cuttings were treated with 0 ppm and 500 ppm IBA before planting in rooting medium. Grafted cuttings were removed from the rooting medium at the end of 60 days and graft retention rate (%), rooting rate (%), root number (number), root length (mm) and shoot length (mm) parameters were evaluated. In the results of the study, it was observed that the highest graft retention and rooting rate (100%) was in the plants grafted on E2 cuttings grafted in February and applied 500 ppm IBA. The highest number of roots was obtained from plants grafted on D2 rootstock, which was taken in February and applied 500 ppm IBA, with 29.4. It was obtained from plants grafted on E3 rootstock applied 0 ppm IBA in December with the highest root length of 61.48 mm. With the highest shoot length of 144.54 mm, it was obtained from plants that were applied 500 ppm IBA and grafted to E3 rootstock taken in December. When all parameters were evaluated, it was determined that the cuttings grafted in February performed better. IBA application had a positive effect on the rate of living plants. The surviving plant ratio was obtained from the male genotypes E3 (45.55%) and females genotypes D2 (54.44%).

Bu çalışma, 2018-2020 yılları arasında farklı yörelerden toplanan 24 kızılcık (Cornus mas L.) genotip ve çeşidinin bazı pomolojik özellikleri, kimyasal içerikleri, toplam fenolik madde miktarı ve antioksidan kapasiteleri yönünden değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. İncelenen genotiplerde meyve ağırlığı 1,56 g ile 7,36 g, meyve eni 11,81 mm ile 20,63 mm, meyve boyu 15,75 mm ile 29,82 mm, meyve şekil indeksi 1,19-1,60, çekirdek ağırlığı 0,26-0,94 g; meyve eti/çekirdek oranı 4,15-9,77 g; pH 1,62-3,12; suda çözünebilir kuru madde miktarı %14,39- %25,26; titre edilebilir asit miktarı 1,48- 4,59 değerlerine ulaşılmıştır. Meyvelerin sarı ile koyu kırmızı renk aralığında olduğu görülmüştür. Toplam fenolik madde miktarı 481,713-1179,736 mg/100 g; antioksidan kapasitesini belirlemede kullanılan yöntemler DPPH, CUPRAC ve ABTS olmuştur. Yöntemlere göre; 43,306-216,636 μmol/g (CUPRAC); 6,083-48,250 μmol/g (ABTS+·); 5,390-13,263 μmol/g (DPPH·) değerlerine ulaşılmıştır. Genotiplerin fenolik madde miktarları ve antioksidan kapasiteleri arasında yüksek korelasyon gözlenmiştir (ABTS+· için r2= 0,757, CUPRAC için r2= 0,869). Çalışmamızda yer alan genotip ve çeşitlere ait sonuçlar kızılcığın yüksek antioksidan kapasitesi açısından değerlendirilmesi gereken doğal bitki kaynaklarımızdan biri olduğunu göstermektedir. This study was conducted to evaluate the genotypes and varieties of 24 Cornelian cherry (Cornus mas L.) collected from different regions between 2018-2020 in terms of some pomological characteristics, chemical contents, total phenolic content and antioxidant capacities. Fruit weight varied from 1,56 to 7,36 g, whereas seed weight ranged from 0.26 to 0.94 g. The average lengths of fruits were between 15,75 and 29.82 mm, and the average widths of them were between 11,81-20,63 mm.The total soluble solids and total acidity were 14,39 - 25,26% and 1,48- 4,59 % respectively. The fruits were yellow to dark red.The content of total phenolic subtance ranged from 481,71- 1179,73 mg/ 100 g fresh weight. The antioxidant activity was determined, using by DPPH, CUPRAC and ABTS methods. According to methods, the values found as 5,390 - 13,263 μmol/g (DPPH·),6,083-48,250 μmol/g(ABTS+·) and 43,306 -216,636 μmol/g (CUPRAC). High correlation between polyphenols and antioxidant activity in fruits of the genotypes was observed (r2= 0,757 for ABTS+· test, and r2= 0,869 for CUPRAC test). The results of genotypes in our study can help in the explanation of their uses in agriculture and food industry as well as can be regarded as promising candidates for natural plant sources of high antioxidant value.

Bu çalışmada, aşılı köklü badem fidanı üretiminde farklı uygulamaların köklenme ve aşı başarısı üzerine etkileri araştırılmıştır. İki farklı zamanda (Aralık ve Ocak) alınan GF 677 ve Garnem (GN 15) anaçlarına ait odun çelikleri Ferragnes badem çeşidi ile dilcikli aşı metodu ile aşılanmış ve aşılı bitkiler sırasıyla; 0 (kontrol), 1000, 2000 ppm IBA, 1600 ppm putresin, 1600 ppm put + 1000 ppm IBA ve 1600 ppm put + 2000 ppm IBA ile muamele edilmiştir. Dikimden 60 gün sonra köklendirme ortamından sökülen bitkilerde aşı tutma oranı (%), köklenme oranı (%), kallus oranı (%), kök sayısı (adet) ve kök uzunluğu (mm) gibi özellikler ayrı ayrı belirlenmiştir.Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, en yüksek köklenme (% 53,3) ve aşı tutma oranı (% 96,7) Ocak döneminde aşılanan ve 1000 ppm IBA uygulanan Garnem anacından elde edilmiştir. GF 677 anacında en yüksek köklenme oranı (% 20) Ocak dönemi 2000 ppm IBA, en yüksek aşı tutma oranı ise (% 96,7) Ocak dönemi 1000 ppm IBA uygulamalarında gözlenmiştir. Putresin ve IBA kombinasyon uygulamalarından elde edilen köklenme oranlarının, IBA uygulamalarından daha düşük oranda olduğu görülmüştür. In this study, the effects of different applications on rooting and graft success of grafted plant propagation in almond were investigated. Hardwood cuttings of GF 677 and Garnem (GN 15) taken at two different times (December and January) were grafted with the almond cultivar named Ferragnes by using whip and tongue grafting method. Subsequently, grafted plants were treated with 0 (control),1000, 2000 ppm IBA, 1600 ppm putrescine, 1600 ppm put + 1000 ppm IBA and 1600 ppm put + 2000 ppm IBA applications, respectively. 60 days from planting, some characters such as graft success ratio (%), rooting ratio (%), callus formation rate (%), number of roots (piece) and root length (mm) were determined separately on grafted plants removed from rooting media.According to the results, the highest rooting (53,3 %) and graft success (96,7 %) ratios were obtained from 1000 ppm IBA application on Garnem, grafted in January. For GF 677, the highest rooting ratio (20 %) and graft success (96,7 %) was observed in 2000 ppm IBA and 1000 ppm IBA applications in January, respectively. It was seen that the rooting ratios, obtained from putrescine and IBA combinations were more less than IBA applications. 74

Ülkemizde ceviz yetiştiriciliği uzun yıllar tohumdan yetiştirilen fidanlarla yapılmıştır. 1970'li yıllarda aşılı fidan üretim çalışmalarının başlaması ile birlikte Bandırma ilçesi Sahil Yenice mahallesinde aşılı ceviz fidan üretimine başlanmış ve halen yoğun olarak devam etmektedir. 2017 yılı verilerine göre ceviz fidanı üretiminin %76'sının Bandırma yapıldığı görülmektedir. Bu çalışma Bandırma ilçesindeki ceviz fidancılığının mevcut durumunun teknik ve sosyo-ekonomik yönden incelemek amacı ile yapılmıştır. Anket çalışması Bandırma İlçe Tarım ve Orman Müdürlüğü Tarım Bilgi Sistemine kayıtlı ve toprak tahlili (nematod ve patates siğili) yaptıran, 61 üretici ile yüz-yüze görüşülerek yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler değerlendirildiğinde Bandırma ilçesindeki fidan üreticilerinin %87 sini Sahil Yenice mahallesinde bulunduğu görülmüştür. Üretilen fidanların neredeyse tamamının J.regia çöğürü üzerine Chandler ve Fernor çeşitlerinden oluştuğu fidan üretiminde yoğun olarak dilcikli aşı ve bilezik aşı yöntemlerinin kullanıldığı ve aşı başarısının aşı yöntemlerine göre sırasıyla %86 ve 83 olduğu belirlenmiştir. Üretilen fidanların büyük bir kısmını çıplak köklü ve sarı sertifikalı fidanlar oluşturmaktadır. Üreticilerin %88'i kendi kalem damızlıkları olduğunu belirtmiş ve üretilen fidanların yaklaşık %43'ünü ihraç ettiklerini bildirmiştir. Fidancılıkla uğraşan kişileri %58 lik kısmı orta öğretim ve üzerinde eğitim seviyesine sahiptir. Fidan üretimi yapan kişilerin %67'sinin genç olması üretimin sürdürülebilir olduğunu göstermektedir. In our country, walnut farming was made from seeds for years. In the 1970s with the beginning of tree grafting investigations, grafting sapling began and since then grafting has been continued intensely in the district of Bandırma in the neighborhood of Sahil Yenice. According to the data of 2017, it is seen that 76% of the production of the walnut sapling is made in the district of Bandırma. This study was performed to observe the current situation of technical and socio-economical aspects in the district of Bandırma, this study was performed with 61 people in person that is registered in the Information System of Bandırma Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and made soil analysis (nematod and Synchytrium endobioticum). When the data is evaluated, it is seen that 87% of the producers are located in the neighborhood of Sahil Yenice. It was detected that almost all walnut saplings produced in Bandırma were Chandler and Fernor that grafted on J. Regia seedling rootstock using wipe grafting and bud grafting in sapling production. According to grafting success rate compared with the techniques, respectively 86% and 83%. The majority of produced saplings are bare root and yellow certificated. 88% of the producers declared that the saplings are their breeding stick plants and they export almost 43% of produced saplings. 58% of people who are trying to produce sapling are high school and above graduated, %67 of producers are young and it shows that walnut production is in a sustainable position. 61

Bu çalışma 2016 yılında 11 sanayilik şeftali çeşidinin (Vico®, Segre®, Silos®, Cinca®, Yuso®, Guadalupe®, Jalon®, Leyre®, Poblet®, Veruela®) fenolojik, pomolojik, verim özelliklerini ve büyüme performanslarını incelemek amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Fenolojik gözlem sonuçları incelendiğinde, tomurcuk kabarması en erken Silos®, en geç ise Yuste® çeşidinde gözlemlenmiştir. Tam çiçeklenme en erken Guadalupe®, Poblet®, Silos®, Veruela® ve Vico® çeşitlerinde, en geç ise Jalon® çeşidinde meydana gelmiştir. Çiçeklenme dönemi çeşitlere göre11-19 gün arasında değişmiştir. Çeşitlerin meyve gelişim periyodları 93-164 gün arasında değişmiştir. Çeşitlerin meyve hasadı Vico® (07 Haziran) çeşidi ile başlamış, Veruela® (19 Ağustos) çeşidi ile sona ermiştir.Pomolojik analiz sonuçlarına göre; en iri meyveler Poblet® (140,20 g) çeşidinden, en küçük meyveler ise Segre® (64,14) ve Silos® (64,62) çeşitlerinden elde edilmiştir. Çeşitlerin çekirdek ağırlığı 5,07-7,13 g, meyve et/çekirdek oranı ise 9,47-20,39 arasında değişmiştir. SÇKM bakımından Guadalupe® (%16,93), çeşidinde en yüksek, Vico® (%11,13) çeşidinde ise en düşük değer elde edilmiştir. Çeşitlerin pH' sı 3,6-4,41, TEA' sı 0,16-0,47 g/100ml arasında değişmiştir. Tadı belirleyen olgunluk indeksi Silos® (90,78) ve Segre® (88,79) çeşitlerinde yüksek, Poblet® (33,16) ve Cinca® (39,65) çeşitlerinde ise en düşük değerler elde edilmiştir. Bu kriterler baz alınarak, ilk yıl sonuçlarına göre Leyre®, Poblet®, Veruela®, Yuso® ve Yuste® çeşitleri daha öne çıkmıştır. This study was conducted in 2016 in order to investigate phenologic, pomologic, yield characteristics and growth performances of 11 non-melting peach cultivars (Vico®, Segre®, Silos®, Cinca®, Yuso®, Guadalupe®, Jalon®, Leyre®, Poblet®, Veruela®). Results of the phenological observations showed that, the earliest bud swelling cultivar was Silos® while the latest bud swelling cultivar was Yuste®. The first full blooming cultivars were Guadalupe®, Poblet®, Silos®, Veruela® and Vico® and last full blooming cultivar was Jalon®. Blossoming period was ranged between 11-19 days among cultivars. Fruit development period among all cultivars was between 93-164 days. Fruit harvest was started with Vico® (07 June) cultivar and ended with Veruela® (19 August) cultivar.According to the results of pomological obervations, biggest fruits were harvested from Poblet® (140,20 g) cultivar and smallest fruits were harvested from Segre® (64,14) and Silos® (64,62) cultivars. Seed weight of the cultivars was ranged between 5,07-7,13 g, and flesh/seed raito was ranged between 9,47-20,39. Highest soluble solid value obtained from Guadalupe® (%16,93) and lowest value obtained from Vico® (%11,13). pH values of the cultivars was ranged between 3,6-4,41 and TEA value was ranged between 0,16-0,47 g/100ml. Ripening index for peach flavor was highest in Silos® (90,78) and Segre® (88,79) and lowest in Poblet® (33,16) and Cinca® (39,65) cultivars. According to the parameters, Leyre®, Poblet®, Veruela®, Yuso® and Yuste® cultivars come forward based on the results of the first year. 70

Gıda Tarım Ve Hayvancılık Bakanlığı TAGEM-14/AR-GE/03 Fig (Ficus carica L.) is a traditional crop in Turkey and widely cultivated around the Mediterranean areas. The gynodioecious fig species is present in two sexual forms, i.e. the domesticated fig (female tree) and the caprifig (male tree). Caprifigs are crucial for high quality fig production and breeding while, the studies on assessment of genetic relationship among caprifigs is limited. The aim of this study was to determine genetic diversity among 45 caprifigs and 2 female figs collected from four provinces in Marmara and Aegean Sea Regions of Turkey using simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. In this work, 24 SSR markers were tested, one was monomorphic and the remaining markers amplified 82 alleles. The number of polymorphic alleles per SSR marker ranged from 2 to 7. The observed heterozygosity (Ho) differed from 0.18 to 0.76 and expected heterozygosity (He) ranged between 0.24 and 0.81. The polymorphism information content (PIC) varied from 0.42 to 0.98. A UPGMA analysis based on Dice similarity matrix clustered fig genotypes into two main groups and similarly, STRUCTURE analysis placed fig genotypes into two different gene pools (K=2). Fig genotypes collected from the same region were not clustered together in a group indicating that the fig genotypes did not cluster on the basis of their collection sites. Our results demonstrated that caprifigs and female figs are not genetically distinct and they clustered together in a group. All fig genotypes had distinct SSR marker profiles suggesting that there were no synonyms or homonyms. These results revealed a high genetic variation among fig genotypes and 23 SSR markers were enough to discriminate all fig genotypes analysed in this study demonstrating that SSR marker system is suitable for genetic analysis in figs.

Bu çalışmada, bazı klon anaçlar üzerine aşılı vişne çeşitlerinin büyüme-gelişme performansları ve meyve kalite özellikleri incelenmiştir. Araştırmada CAB 6P, PHL-C, Piku 3, SL 64, MaxMa 14 anaçları üzerine aşılı Kütahya çeşidi; CAB 6P ve PHL-C anaçları üzerine aşılı Montmorency çeşidi; Piku 3 ve MaxMa 14 anaçları üzerine aşılı Early Richmond çeşidi kullanılmıştır. Anaç-çeşit kombinasyonlarında büyüme-gelişme döneminin başlaması ile birlikte fenolojik gelişme dönemleri kaydedilmiştir. Araştırmada anaçların, çeşitlerin büyüme-gelişmelerine etkilerine ek olarak, verim ve verim etkinliği ve pomolojik özellikleri üzerine etkisi belirlenmiştir.Piku 3 anacı Kütahya ve Early Richmond çeşitlerinde çiçeklenmeyi öne almıştır. Anaçların, Montmorency çeşidinde çiçeklenme ve hasat tarihleri üzerine etkisi benzer olmuştur. Büyüme-gelişme özellikleri bakımından Kütahya ve Montmorency çeşitlerinde genel olarak CAB 6P anacı diğer anaçlara göre daha kuvvetli ağaçlar oluşturmuştur. Early Richmond çeşidinde ise anaçlar benzer büyüme-gelişme performansı göstermişlerdir. Anaç-çeşit kombinasyonlarında anaçların verim miktarı üzerine etkisi önemli bulunmuştur. Kütahya ve Montmorency çeşitlerinde verim miktarı bakımından CAB 6P anacı daha yüksek değerler verirken, Early Richmond çeşidinde MaxMa 14 anacı daha yüksek değerler vermiştir. Kütahya ve Montmorency çeşitlerinde anaçların meyve ağırlığı ve meyve boyutu üzerine etkisi önemli bulunmuştur. Kütahya çeşidinde CAB 6P anacının meyve ağırlığı ve meyve boyutunu üzerine etkisi olumlu olurken, MaxMa 14 anacı daha düşük değerler vermiştir. Montmorency çeşidinde CAB 6P anacı meyve ağırlığı, boyutu ve ikiz meyve oranı (% 21,49) bakımından PHL-C anacından daha yüksek sonuçlar vermiştir. Çalışmada tüm anaç-çeşit kombinasyonlarında anaçların, et/çekirdek oranı ve SÇKM miktarı üzerine etkisi önemsiz bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak, tüm parametreler iki yıllık verilere göre değerlendirildiğinde, çalışmanın yapıldığı koşullarda Kütahya ve Montmorency çeşitlerinde CAB 6P anacının diğer anaçlara göre daha iyi performans gösterdiği, Early Richmond çeşidinde ise anaçların belirgin bir farklılık göstermediği tespit edilmiştir. In this study the growth-development performances and fruit quality charateristics of sour cherry cultivars grafted on some clonal rootstocks were investigated. The materials investigated were Kütahya cultivar grafted on CAB 6P, PHL-C, Piku 3, SL 64 and MaxMa 14 rootstocks; Montmorency cultivar grafted on CAB 6P and PHL-C rootstocks; Early Richmond cultivar grafted on Piku 3 and MaxMa 14 rootstocks. In rootstock-cultivar combinations, phenological development stage were recorded starting along with growth-development season. In addition of rootstocks' effects on growth-development charachteristics, yield and yield effciency and pomological charaterisctics were also studied.Piku 3 rootstock induced early blooming in Kutahya and Early Richmond cultivars. For Montmorency cultivar's blooming time and harvest time have been determined similar among all rootstocks. In general CAB 6P rootstock provide more vigorous tree for Kütahya and Montmorency cultivars regarding growth-devolopment characteristic. There were no difference between rootstocks for growth-devolopment performance in Early Richmond cultivar. There is a significant difference among rootstocks on yields. In terms of yields, a higher value was recorded on CAB 6P rootstock for Kutahya and Montmorency cultivars while MaxMa 14 rootstock was the highest for Early Richmond cultivar. There was a significant difference founded on fruit weight and size among rootstocks for Kutahya and Montmorency cultivars. For Kutahya cultivar, CAB 6P rootstock showed a tendency to induce higher fruit weight and size whereas MaxMa 14 rootstock induce lower fruit weight and size. In respect to fruit weight, size and double fruit rate (21,49%) CAB 6P rootstock induce higher value than PHL-C rootstock for Montmorency cultivar. As a result of statistical analysis, it was determined that the rootstocks used in the study did not create any significant differences on flesh/stone rate and soluble solids content (SSC). As a result, when all parameters evaluated for two years' data, CAB 6P rootstocks showed better performance than other rootstocks for Kutahya and Montmorency cultivars while there is no significant difference for Early Richmond between rootstocks. 86

Bu çalışma, 2016 yılında 11 basık şeftali ve 3 basık nektarin çeşidinin fenolojik, pomolojik özellikleri ve büyüme performanslarını incelemek amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada GF 677 anacına aşılı Plane Ring, Plane Summer, Plane Gem, Plane Sun, Plane Delicious, Plane Silver, Plane Gold, Plane Star, Plane Super, Plane 222, Plane Top basık şeftali çeşitleri ve Platerina 110, Platerina 126 ve Platerina 264 basık nektarin çeşitleri yer almıştır. Çeşitlerde fenolojik gözlemler yapılmış, yaprak kıvırcıklığı ve külleme yaygınlığı incelenmiştir. Ek olarak çeşitlerin pomolojik özellikleri ve büyüme performansı belirlenmiştir. 2016 yılında yapılan fenolojik gözlemlere göre, en erken tomurcuk kabarması, Plane Ring ve Plane Super çeşitlerinde, en geç tomurcuk kabarması ise Plane Silver çeşidinde gözlenmiştir. Tam Çiçeklenme en erken Plane Ring, Plane Super, Platerina 126 ve Plane 222 çeşitlerinde, en geç ise Plane Silver çeşidinde meydana gelmiştir. Çiçeklenme döneminin en uzun sürdüğü çeşit Plane Silver, en kısa sürdüğü çeşit ise Platerina 264 olmuştur. Çiçeklenme sonu ve meyve tutumu dönemlerinde meydana gelen ilkbahar geç donları nedeniyle bazı çeşitlerden meyve alınamamıştır. Plane Ring çeşidinde yaprak kıvırcıklığı ve külleme yaygınlık oranı daha yüksek bulunurken, Plane Gold ve Plane Silver çeşidinde bu oran daha düşük bulunmuştur. Pomolojik analiz sonuçlarına göre en iri meyveler Plane Gold (132,02) çeşidinden en küçük meyveler ise Plane Ring (71,54) çeşidinden elde edilmiştir. Meyve eti sertliği en yüksek çeşit Plane Gold (7,02 kg/cm2), en düşük çeşit ise Plane Ring (3,06 kg/cm2) olmuştur. Basık şeftali çeşitlerinin pH değeri daha yüksek, nektarin çeşitlerinin ise daha düşük bulunmuştur. Titre edilebilir asit miktarı nektarin çeşitlerinde daha yüksek, şeftali çeşitlerinde ise daha düşük bulunmuştur. Tadı belirleyen olgunluk indeksi değeri ise en yüksek Plane Gem (78,89) ve Plane Silver (76,71), en düşük ise Platerina 110 (34,05) nektarin çeşidinden elde edilmiştir. Phenological observations were made on cultivars, and the prevalence of leaf curl and powdery mildew was examined. In addition, the pomological characteristics and growth performance of the cultivars were determined.According to phenological observation in 2016, the earliest bud swelling were observed in Plane Ring and Plane Super cultivars whereas the latest bud swelling were observed in Plane Silver. While Plane Ring, Plane Super, Platerina 126 and Plane 222 were the first blooming cultivars, Plane Silver was the latest blooming cultivars. It has been determined Plane Silver which the longest blooming time among the cultivars. Because of spring late frost which happened in blooming and fruit set stages, it has not been obtained fruit from some cultivars. In respect to leaf curl and powdery mildew prevalence rate, Plane Ring cultivar induce high value whereas Plane Gold and Plane Silver cultivars induce low prevalence rate. According to of pomological analysis results the cultivars having the biggest fruit was Plane Gold (132,02), the having the smallest fruit was Plane Ring (71,54). The cultivars having the highest fruit firmness was Plane Gold (7,02 kg/cm2), the lowest one was Plane Ring (3,06 kg/cm2). Flat peaches cultivars Ph value were found higher whereas flat nectarine cultivars pH value was lower. In this study, the chemical compositions and sugar profiles of seventeen local cultivars and two foreign chestnut hybrids, grown in the Marmara Region, Turkey, were examined. The results showed that chestnut hybrids and cultivars have 58.12-69.83 total carbohydrates, 10.59-22.38 total sugars, 2.41-3.41 invert sugar, 6.15-12.44 total protein, 2.09-4.36 ash and 0.87-2.61 total fat values (g 100 g-1 dry matter basis). It was determined that chestnut cultivars generally have over 50% water content and higher starch content (40.99-53.16 g 100 g-1). The sucrose contents of the cultivars were higher than the other sugars. Sucrose, glucose and fructose contents were 10.77-21.66, 0.33-1.13, and 0.15-0.79, respectively (g 100 g-1 dry matter basis). These results stated that chestnuts have rich nutritive substances for human nutrition and health.

Bu araştırma, dünyada ve Türkiye'de yetiştirilen bazı yerli (Maraş18, Şebin, Şen 1) ve yabancı (Chandler, Fernor, Franquette) ceviz çeşitlerinde (Juglans regia L.) dinlenmenin karşılanması için gerekli soğuklama ve sıcaklık toplamı (BDS oC) ihtiyacını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada, yaprak dökümünü takiben ağaçlardan alınan 40 cm uzunluğundaki çelikler, fungisit uygulamasından sonra köpük kutulara yerleştirilerek, 4±1 °C'de, 400-1500s boyunca soğuklamaya maruz bırakılmıştır. Çelikler, 400s soğuklamadan sonra, her 100s soğuklamanın ardından, iklim odasına alınarak, içerisinde % 5 sakkaroz, % 0,3 alüminyum sülfat ve 50 ml saf su bulunan kavanozlara yerleştirilmiş ve tomurcuk patlaması gözlenmiştir. Soğuklama ve sıcaklık toplamı ihtiyacının belirlenmesinde, % 50 oranında tomurcuk patlamasının meydana gelmesi esas alınmıştır. Tomurcuk patlaması, tomurcukların renginin yeşile dönmesi esasına dayandırılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, soğuklama ihtiyacı Şebin çeşidinde en düşük (700s), Şen 1, Chandler ve Fernor çeşitlerinde orta-yüksek (1000s), Maraş 18 ve Franquette çeşitlerinde ise yüksek (1100s) bulunmuştur. Çalışmada çeşitler sıcaklık toplamı ihtiyaçlarına göre düşük (Şebin 10 804 BDS oC), orta (Maraş 18, 11 760 BDS oC, Chandler, 11 840 BDS oC, Şen 1, 12 580 BDS oC, Franquette 12 876 BDS oC) ve yüksek (Fernor, 16 379 BDS oC) olarak 3 grupta toplanmıştır. This research was carried out to determine the chilling and heat (GDH oC) requirement for breaking dormancy in some walnut (Juglans regia L.) cultivars in walnut having important production and economic values in nuts in Turkey and the world. After leaf fall, 40 cm-long twigs were taken from trees, disinfected with fungicide and twigs were exposed to chilling at 4±1 °C from 400-1500h. After the twigs were exposed to 400h chilling, in every 100h intervals, twigs were taken and placed in acclimatization room and put into jars with 5 % sucrose, 0,3 % aluminum sulfate and 50 mm distilled water and bud break observed. Evaluation of chilling and heat requirement based on 50 % buds break occurrence. Bud break evaluation based on buds becomes green tip stage.According to the results, chilling requirement was lowest in Şebin cultivar (700h), intermediate-high in Şen 1, Chandler and Fernor cultivars (1000h) and highest in Maraş 18 and Franquette cultivars (1100h). In the study, the cultivars were classified into three groups based on their heat requirements; low requirement (Şebin, 10 804 GDH oC), intermediate requirement (Maraş 18, 11 760 GDH oC, Chandler, 11 840 GDH oC, Şen 1, 12 580 GDH oC) and high requirement (Fernor, 16 379 GDH oC). 68

Grafting technique of potted walnut seedlings is common for walnut nursery tree in Bursa, Turkey. The present study was conducted to determine the effects of cultivars on graft success and development of nursery tress of potted walnuts. Foreign and native cultivars ('Adilcevaz', 'Bilecik', 'Sebin', 'Kaman I', 'Kaplan 86', Yalova 1', 'Yalova 3', 'Yalova 4', 'Chandler', 'Fernette', 'Fernor', 'Franquette', 'Hartley', 'Midland', 'Pedro') were used as scion. Walnut seedling (Juglans regia L.) was taken as rootstock. Grafting was done manually, using the methods of 'whip-and-tongue' graft at the end of February. Potted nursery trees were grown under plastic tunnel. The graft success was assessed three months after grafting. The scion shoot length (cm) and diameter (mm) were examined 100 and 150 days after grafting. The highest graft success was recorded with 'Franquette', 'Kaman I', 'Pedro' and 'Midland' (100%) and lowest with 'Yalova 4' and 'Kaplan 86' (83.33%). The scion shoot length was between 13.53-30.87 cm and the scion diameter ranged between 6.37-8.03 mm five month after grafting. Int Soc Hort Sci (ISHS)

The proximate composition of eleven walnut (Juglans regia L.) genotypes (28 ŞK 010, 28 ŞK 055, 28 ŞK 041, 28 ŞK 601, 28 ŞK 925, 28 ŞK 028, 28 ŞK 118, 28 ŞK 350, 28 ŞK 930, 28 ŞK 850, 28 ŞK 036) and three walnut cultivars (Şebin, Bilecik, Kaman 1) produced in Turkey were determined. The oil content of the samples ranged from 61.32 to 69.35%, corresponding to an energy value of approximately 710 kcal per 100 g of kernel. The protein content ranged from 10.58 to 18.19%, and the carbohydrate composition was between 9.05 and 18.92%. The ash content ranged from 1.53 to 1.99%, and the moisture content of the kernels was between 1.91 and 4.48% the oleic acid content of the oils ranged from 17.90 to 33.35% of the total fatty acids. The linoleic acid content ranged from 43.15 to 60.20%. The linolenic acid content ranged from 9.98 to 13.00%. The palmitic acid content was between 5.21 and 8.40%. Stearic acid ranged from 2.36 to 4.25%. Potassium was the major mineral in all the samples, ranging from 359.73 to 482.97 mg/100 g. Calcium was the next most abundant mineral, ranging from 109.45 to 335.97 mg/100 g, followed by magnesium, ranging from 126.01 to 165.15 mg/100 g.

Pistillate flower abortion (PFA) in walnuts is defined as the drop of female flowers with or without pedicles within 10-15 days after flowering. This situation is commonly observed in some walnut cultivars causes dramatic yield losses. 'Sebin' is a popular walnut cultivar among farmers in Turkey due to the quality of its fruit, yield and ease of marketability. However, in some orchards, established with this cultivar, has a fruitlessness problem. In the present study, the effects of Aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG, the commercial brand name is ReTain) (0, 62.5 and 125 ppm doses) and AVG plus GA(3) (45, 135 and 270 ppm doses) treatments to prevent abortion in cv. 'Sebin' were investigated. The experiments were conducted in two different ecologies. The treatments were carried out just before the receptivity period of female flowers of cv. 'Sebin'. The results showed that, the female flower abortion ratio of 'Sebin' walnut cultivar were 87.78% in Tokat ecology and 77.78% in Niksar ecology. The fruit set ratio by 125 ppm AVG treatment was determined to be 60.89% for Niksar and 57.56% for Tokat ecological conditions. The highest fruit set was obtained from 125 ppm AVG combined 270 ppm GA(3) treatment and this ratio was determined to be 93.89% for Niksar ecological conditions whereas it was determined to be 83.33% for Tokat ecological conditions. As a result, it was found that AVG alone or in combination with GA(3) is effective treatments in reducing female flower abortion for 'Sebin' walnut cultivar.

Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) method was used to study the genetic relationships among eight walnut genotypes grown in Turkey. A total of 45 10-mer primers were tested with the RAPD technique. Thirty-seven primers showed reproducible polymorphic pattern. These primers produced 513 bands, out of which 340 were polymorphic. The molecular size varied between 200 - 5000 bp. The dendrogram realized from the RAPD markers grouped the eight genotypes into three major clusters. The highest similarity was found between NO-2 and NO-8 genotypes (0.779). The cophenetic correlation coefficient between the similarity matrix and the cophenetic matrix of the dendrogram was very high (r = 0.9131), supporting the validity of the dendrogram. Based on these results, RAPD analysis can be used for the characterization and grouping of walnut genotypes.

Bu çalışma, 13-16 Ekim 2009 tarihleri arasında Cuneo[İtalya]’da düzenlenen 1. European Congress on Chestnut - Castanea’da bildiri olarak sunulmuştur. Shells of three different chestnut cultivars named as 'Marigoule', 'Maraval' and '52112' ('Vakit Kestanesi') were tested for their antifungal activities against Penicillium roqueforti, Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus parasiticus. Ethanol extracts were obtained by soxhlet extraction and antifungal activities were determined with three point inoculation method and an automated quantitative assay by absorbance measurement at 595 nm on a microplate reader. Results of the two methods demonstrated that ethanol extracts of 'Marigoule' and 'Maraval' retarded the growth of Aspergillus niger but did not inhibit it completely. None of the three extracts inhibited Penicillium roqueforti according to microplate assay; but on the contrary stimulatory effects of '52112' on the mentioned mould were determined. Contradictory results were obtained from two methods concerning the antifungal effect of three extracts, so further studies are needed for the factors causing variations between two methods and the composition of the chestnut shell extracts to determine the antifungal activity more accurately.

Bu çalışma, 13-16 Ekim 2009 tarihleri arasında Cuneo[İtalya]’da düzenlenen 1st European Congress on Chestnut - Castanea’da bildiri olarak sunulmuştur. In this study, we examined the influence of hydrogen peroxide, wounding and IBA on the rooting success of chestnut hardwood cuttings. Cuttings of European chestnut genotypes 51111 (Sariaslama Clone -1) and 51205 (Sariaslama Clone -2), were treated with IBA at 0, 12000 ppm and H2O2 (3.5% w/v) solutions. Cuttings were prepared 14-16 cm in length in January, wounding the opposite sides of the base of the cutting. Compressed peat pellet was used as rooting media. Presence of callus and rooting rate were determined.

In the study, the efficacy of 1-Methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) on the quality of apples cv. “Granny Smith” was examined. Fruits were stored for 120 and 180 days at 0 ± 0.5C and 90 ± 5% relative humidity (RH) under normal (NA) and controlled atmosphere (CA), and samples taken at 120 and 180 days of storage were kept at 20 ± 2C and 60 ± 5% RH for 7 days. Weight loss was higher in fruits stored under NA. The lowest respiration rates were in CA while the highest rates were found in NA-stored fruits without pretreated. 1-MCP + CA reduced the internal ethylene concentration from 10.63 µL/L to 0.60 µL. The incidence and severity of superficial scald was 68.10 and 77.00% in fruits stored in NA. 1-MCP consistently suppressed the expression of superficial scald. 1-MCP maintained the quality fruit kept in CA and NA environments to a higher degree than nontreated apples over a 180-day storage period. The results indicated that cv. “Granny Smith” could be stored successfully under 1-MCP + CA conditions and that 1-MCP + NA may be a viable alternative to CA for optimal eating quality. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS 1-Methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) is an effective inhibitor of ethylene action and it binds irreversibly to ethylene receptors. 1-MCP delays the onset of the climacteric ripening of fruits. Recently research has been conducted on the effects of 1-MCP on postharvest behavior of fruits and vegetables with the objective of reducing physiological disorders and quality losses to prolong their commercial life. The use of 1-MCP is easy. It is important that the fruit treated with 1-MCP reach a good sensory quality at the commercial level. Superficial scald of apples is a physiological disorder, which following long-term storage has the potential to destroy the market value and utility of millions of tons of fresh apples annually. The present work evaluated a prestorage conditioning treatment to protect against this physiological disorder. Results will allow the long storage of apple cv. “Granny Smith,” benefiting growers, exporters, shippers and distributors of this horticultural product.

Bahçe, MM 106 anacı üzerine aşılı 7 elma çeşidinin Bursa Görükle koşullarındaki verim ve kalite özelliklerini kıyaslamak amacıyla 1993 yılında kurulmuş ve ağaçlar doruk dalı hakim serbest dallanan terbiye sistemine göre terbiye edilmiştir. İlk 7 verim yılı sonuçlarına göre, Elstar en erken hasat edilen çeşit olmuştur. Granny Smith ağaç başına 7 yıllık ortalama verim (26.39 kg / ağaç) ve birim gövde kesit alanına düşen verim (0.39 kg/cm2 ) bakımından ilk sırada yer almış, bunu ortalama verim bakımından Jonagold (16.32 kg /ağaç) ve gövde kesit alanına verim bakımından Ultra Red (0.35 kg/ cm2 ) çeşitleri izlemiştir.Dekara verim dikkate alındığında ise Ultra Red ve Granny Smith çeşitleri ilk sırada yer almışlardır. Ortalama en yüksek meyve ağırlığı Granny Smith (169.5 g) ve Jonagold (153.5 g) çeşitlerinden elde edilmiş, meyve eti sertliği ve SÇKM, pH ve asit miktarları çeşide ve yıllara göre değişiklik göstermiştir.Bazı çeşitlerde periyodisite eğilimi görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak mevcut koşullarda Granny Smith, Ultra Red, Starkrimson D. ve Jonagold kışlık, Elstar ise yazlık çeşitler olarak önerilebilir. This research was conducted in the experimental orchard of Uludag University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture. The experiment plot was established by the aim to compare the yield and quality of 7 apple cultivars budded on MM 106 rootstock, under Görükle conditions, in 1993. The trees were trained to free branching system. According to the first 7 cropping years’ results, Elstar was the first maturing cultivar. Granny Smith has taken the first row in respect of average yield (26.39kg/ tree) and the yield of per cm2 of cross sectional area of the trunk (0.39 kg/cm 2) in the first seven cropping years.This was followed by Jonagold (16.32 kg/ tree) and Ultra Red (0. 35 kg/ cm2 ) . Ultra Red and Granny Smith have taken the first rows in respect of the yield of per decare. The highest average fruit weights were obtained from Granny Smith (169.5 g) and Jonagold (153.5 g) cultivars. Flesh firmness, soluble solids content, pH and titratable acidity were different more or less, among the cultivars and the years. Some of cultivars showed alternate bearing tendency. At the end of the trials,it can be stated that Granny Smith, Ultra Red, Starkrimson D. and Jonagold were recommended as winter cultivars, Elstar was recommended as a summer cultivar under this conditions.

Bu araştırma, 2000-2001 yılları arasında Bursa iline bağlı Çakırca ve Aksungur köylerinde ‘Gemlik’ zeytin çeşidine ait ağaçlardaki çiçek tomurcuğu farklılaşması (morfolojik ayrım) ve gelişimini saptamak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada, tomurcuk örnekleri Ekim ayının sonundan çiçeklenme periyoduna kadar 10 günlük aralıklarla alınarak FAA eriyiğinde tespit edilmiştir. Daha sonra örnekler parafine gömülerek, kesit alınmış ve mikroskop altında incelenmiştir. İncelemeler sonucunda çiçek tomurcuklarının morfolojik ayrım dönemi ve çiçek tomurcuğunun bazı gelişim dönemleri (çanak yaprak, taç yaprak, erkek organ ve tohum taslaklarının görülmesi) tespit edilmiştir. Genel olarak, tomurcuklardaki morfolojik ayrımın Şubat ayının ilk haftasında, tohum taslaklarının görülmesinin de Nisan ayı ortalarında olduğu saptanmıştır. This research was carried out to investigate the flower bud initiation (morphological differentiation) and development for olive trees cv.’Gemlik’ in Çakırca and Aksungur villages of Bursa between the 2000 and 2001. In the study, bud samples from the end of October through flowering period were taken with an interval of 10 days and fixed in FAA solution. Later samples were paraffined and obtained their cross sections, and examined under the microscope. As a result of the study, morphological differentiation stages of flower bud and some periods of flower bud development (formation of calix primordia, corolla primordia, stamen primordia and ovule) were observed. In general, morphological differentiation period during the first week of February and the first sign of ovule development in the middle of April were obtained.

Bu çalışma, 19-23 Ekim 1998 tarihlerinde Bordeaux[Fransa]'da düzenlenen 2. International Symposium on Chestnut'da bildiri olarak sunulmuştur. This research was conducted with the aim to determine the propagation possibility of some chestnut hybrids and native cultivars and types through shoot tip and axillary bud culture between 1994 and 1998. MS, modified MS macro and micro elements or McCown's Woody Plant Basal Salt Mixture, were used as culture media. BAP, IBA and thidiazuron were added to some media. The following results were obtained from the explants growing in a chamber regulated to 25+/-1 degrees C and 16 h dark / 8 h light period. Shoot tip culture did not give any positive result, but axillary bud culture had shown to be successful in some years. Especially the bud explants which were taken from the succulent shoots of the juvenile 1- year- old or 2-3 - month- old plants grown in greenhouse had burst, gave shoot and then could be multiplicated in the media. In many times no good result had been obtained from the studies with axillary buds taken from field grown trees (5-7 years old) at various times of the growing season. In these studies no bud had burst, but some of the explants formed only callus. The explants prepared that were taken from the shoots on 13(th) of October, then chilled for 40 days at 5+/-1 degrees C in the refrigerator, did not burst on the culture media which contained a high level of BAP (2-10 mg l(-1)). However some of the explants produced callusing. In the view of these studies, it could be stated that the most important factor in chestnut micropropagation is the juvenility of the explant source. Bu çalışma, Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi Fen Bilimler Enstitüsünde Arif Soylu'in danışmanlığında Ümran Ertürk tarafından yazılan "Bazı şeftali çeşitlerinde meyve seyreltme derecesinin verimlilik ve meyve kalitesi üzerine etkileri" adlı doktora tezine dayanılarak hazırlanmıştır. Bu araştırma 1994-1996 yılları arasında, Bursa yöresinin bazı önemli şeftali çeşitlerinde farklı derecelerdeki seyreltme uygulamalarının verim ve meyvelerin kalite özelliklerine etkilerini saptamak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, meyve ağırlığı seyreltmeye bağlı olarak değişmiştir. Dixired, Redhaven ve J.H.Hale çeşitlerinde ürün yükü arttıkça meyve ağırlığı kısmi bir azalma eğilimi göstermiş sürgünde 4 ve 5 meyve bırakılan uygulamalar, diğer uygulamalara göre daha düşük değerler vermiştir. Daha büyük meyve veren seyreltme uygulamalarındaki Et/Çekirdek oranı genellikle daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Seyreltme derecesine bağlı olarak meyvelerin sertlik, SEKM, pH, asit, toplam ve invert şeker değerlerinde belirgin ve kararlı bir değişim saptanmamıştır. Ağaç başına ve gövde kesit alanını düşen verim bağlamından en yüksek değerleri sürgün başına daha fazla meyve bırakılan uygulamalar genellikle de 4 ve 5 meyveli uygulamalar vermiştir. Sürgün boylan uygulamalara göre belirgin bir değişim göstermemişdir. Birim uzunluğa düşen sürgün sayısı, ürün artışına paralel olarak kısmen veya önemli derecede azalmıştır. This research was carried out between the years 1994 and 1996 with the aim of deterrnining the effects of thinning practices at different severities on the yield and quality of some important peach cultivars grown in Bursa vicinity. According to the results obtained from the study, the fruit weight changed depending on thinning severity; weight tended to decrease partially as the fruit load increased in cvs. Dixired, Redhaven and J.H.Hale; the trealments with 4 or 5 fruits on the shoot gave lover values compared with the other treatments. The Flesh/Seed ratio was generally found higher in the thinning applications yielding larger fruits. A significant and stable varia tion was nol determined in firmness, WSS, pH, acidity, total and invert sugar values of the fruits, depending on the thinning severity. The highest values wilh respect to yield per tree or yield per trunk crass-seetion area were generally obtained from the treatmenis w ith higher number of fruits per shoot and especially treatmenis with 4 or 5 fruits per shoot. Shoot lengths did not exhibit a pronounced increase depending on the treatments. Number of shoots per unit length decreased partially or significantly, in accordance with the increase in yield.
