PERMIAN Period , *POLLUTION , *CHEMICAL equilibrium , *VOLCANIC eruptions , *MILITARY police , *PROBLEM-based learning - Abstract
This research article aims to present problem-based learning (pbl) as a methodological tool for demonstrating and developing scientific concepts within a didactic sequence aimed at fostering students' skills such as reflection and critical thinking on the topic of environmental pollution. Considered by several authors as one of the most comprehensive active methodologies, pbl focuses on the student and their ability to gain self-awareness through interaction with others. Such methodology can be executed based on phenomena that are part of students' everyday lives. This educational experience was supported by a exploratory descriptive study with a qualitative approach that analyzed the receptivity of a group of students to the presentation and resolution of a problem situation related to their daily lives. The research was conducted in Fortaleza, at the First College of the Military Police of Ceará General Edgard Facó (cpmgef), which is part of the state's public education network. The methodology was applied to a group of first-year high school students during the first semester of 2022. Studies were conducted on the topic of chemical equilibrium, reading texts about environmental pollution and its relationship with volcanic eruptions in the Permian period, the release of greenhouse gases, and the administration of two questionnaires. The importance of applying pbl and contextualization as methodologies for addresing environmental pollution content was evident, as they contributed to motivation and interest in the topic. The results showed that when a specific topic is developed with student protagonism, learning becomes more enjoyable and engaging. Thus, it can be concluded that pbl associated with content contextualization constitutes a methodology that enhances learningin a meaningful way, promoting the search for transdisciplinary solutions by working with everyday problems and motivating students to learn and relate knowledge from different areas. HUMAN anatomy , *PEDAGOGICAL content knowledge , *MEDICAL personnel , *HUMAN body , *TEACHING experience - Abstract
The teaching of human macroscopic anatomy (hma) has traditionally been relevant for the training of health professionals, as it is a science that allows for understanding the functioning of the human body and, therefore, is necessary for adequate clinical practice. However, the training processes have not comprehensively addressed teaching, learning, and assessment, which hinders the understanding of anatomy and compromises the suitability of future health professionals' training. This research article describes the teaching, learning, and assessment processes in a Human Macroscopic Anatomy I course within a Medicine and Surgery program in Cali, Colombia, from the theoretical perspective of pedagogical content knowledge. A four-phase case study was conducted using participant observation, field notes, and semi-structured interviews as techniques. The participants included ninety second-semester students and two fourth-semester students from the Medicine and Surgery academic program, as well as four hma area professors. It was found that teaching is conceived as the transmission of knowledge, while learning falls on the student, who must autonomously grasp the main ideas of hma. The assessment is mainly oriented towards grading. The teaching experience revealed a lack of understanding of how students learn the main ideas of hma and how teaching and assessment could be integrated to support this learning. This article presents the results of a research study analyzing the explanatory constructions (both discursive and iconographic) of a group of 5th-grade students regarding the phenomenon of menstruation. The working paradigm is constructivist, and the design is exploratory with a qualitative approach. The instruments used were open-ended questionnaires that posed situations related to the phenomenon of menstruation. The intervention took place in a public elementary school located in the State of Mexico. The collected evidence shows that the scientific school models constructed by the children emphasize the knowledge learned in school related to secondary sexual characteristics, the parts that make up the female reproductive system (as mentioned in the natural science textbooks), and menstruation as a natural process that only happens to women. From this perspective learned in school, human sexuality lacks a scientific conceptualization, which leaves no room for understanding how different systems of the human body interrelate to account for the phenomenon, as well as the connection to pleasure, emotions, and desires. The suggestion for science classes is to find a dialogue between biological knowledge, biochemical functioning, and cultural constructions that help students generate a reflective awareness about the responsible exercise of sexual expression of sexualities, corporeality, and emotional manifestation. The objective of the research is to analyze various bibliographic contributions in which the relationship of information and communication technologies (ICT) with the gamification process is identified to benefit a virtual learning community. The methodology used is based on the analysis of literary review. Categories were established to clarify the relationship of the main concepts, highlighting relevant aspects in the evolution of technologies and the way in which they led to the inclusion of innovative strategies, in order to enhance the teaching and learning process. As a result of the bibliographic review, a strong relationship between ICT and gamification in the educational field was determined, due to the evolution of resources that have emerged over time to connect the student more with their learning. It was concluded that gamification can be progressively incorporated into educational experiences, and that, apart from having components based on game mechanics, it can be a highly considered element in teaching, as a strategy that motivates students to engage more. with your learning. In addition, it was determined that a favorable level of knowledge of the teacher is required in relation to emerging technologies to propose scenarios that challenge the student in a virtual community. This study presents a model designed to predict academic performance using neural networks. It is framed within a quantitative approach and is categorized as a multivariate correlational study. The research is based on a database from an educational institution, available in the data repository of the University of California, Irvine. R was chosen as the programming language, with RStudio as the development environment. The CRISP-DM methodology was adopted to carry out the data analysis. The construction of the neural network was carried out using the nnet package, available in the Comprehensive R Archive Network (CRAN). The neural network model was applied to data collected from 649 students, and its predictive ability was comprehensively evaluated. After comparing it with a multiple linear regression model, it was observed that the neural network model achieved an effectiveness of 87% in predicting academic performance, evidencing its suitability for this purpose.

In the teaching-learning processes of chemistry, in the first year of a university degree, difficulties can be observed that are associated with the complexity of chemical language and the different levels of representation necessary for its approach. Therefore, these processes should have a strong synergy between the way students learn and the way teachers teach. The present study investigated two aspects of the teaching-learning process of chemistry in health science courses at USAM. The first was to identify the predominant learning style of students according to Bandler and Grinder's Neuro-Linguistic Programming Model (VAK model: visual-auditory-kinesthetic), and the second was to identify, from the students' perspective, whether the teachers' strategies were related to any of the aforementioned learning styles. As a result, it was found that in this group of students, there are diverse learning styles, and it was also verified that chemistry teachers apply a variety of strategies, many of which are closely related to one of the learning styles described by the VAK method. Furthermore, through the contrast of the 2-test, it was confirmed that there is a direct relationship between the students' learning style and the pedagogical strategies that the teachers apply. In other words, in any process of pedagogical planning, in the subject of chemistry, it is recommended that the teacher has a clear idea of the various predominant learning styles in their group of students. This allows for the generation of a quality educational process that achieves meaningful learning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this work, the central points of writing teaching at the Faculty of Communication of the University of Montevideo in the twenty years that have passed since its foundation are presented and analyzed. The insistence on mastering the rules and uses of current Spanish, a program of challenging and close readings, personalized correction and self-correction as central instruments are some of the key learnings that result from this teaching experience. The teaching of reading and writing faces multiple challenges in a context of ephemeral relationship with the word and within the primacy of the captivating moving image. Communication faculties play a fundamental role in training professionals capable of "reading well", mainly to then be able to "write well". [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of the work was to review the Latin American literature on Pedagogy and Didactics of accounting sciences. The methodology consisted of The search for the works was carried out electronically, with the use of the Google Academic, Redalyc, Latindex, Dialnet and Tesis en Red application databases. The scoring criteria included relevance, methodological quality of the proposal of research, the experience and position of the authors/holders, the originality, as well as the relevance and scientific rigor. As results, a total of 30 papers were selected. There is a predominance of publications in the Didactic category, with little contribution in Pedagogy. It was found that the articles address theoretical aspects (of national and international interest) related to the teachinglearning process, by questioning the concepts of education, teacher/student relationship, environment, empathy and motivation, among others. In conclusion, future research can contribute to improving pedagogy and didactics in accounting sciences with projects aimed at multiculturalism in businessrelated subjects at the university level, with the development of technological resources capable of being used in the classroom for the individualized or group learning on or off campus, therefore, support materials for class tasks that involve meeting the needs of students are important so that each student has their individual development plan. TEACHER educators , *TEACHER education , *STUDENT teachers , *MATHEMATICS teachers , *DISCURSIVE practices - Abstract
The teaching approach adopted by teacher educators influences the learning experiences of future teachers. To advance in a better understanding of this phenomenon, it is essential to begin investigating how teacher educators and their student teachers configure this process within the classroom, delving into the exchanges they establish. This study analyzed the discursive practices and pedagogical interactions of three mathematics educators who taught classes in this disciplinary and didactic area to students in a primary teacher education program. Each educator was video-recorded during four classes, which were analyzed through systematic observation. The obtained results were complemented with qualitative analysis of some transcribed class segments to explore the teacher educator's communicative approach and the type of questions that student teachers asked during the classes. The findings show that the three educators predominantly exhibit different communicative approaches, ranging from less interactive and authoritarian to more dialogic and interactive. Furthermore, it was found that mathematics teacher educators prioritize teaching content, student teachers participate by answering the questions asked by the teacher educator, and there are few opportunities to develop discussion among the student teachers themselves. Teacher educators' questions are generally less interactive and authoritative at the initial levels and more dialogic at higher levels, while students in initial courses ask more clarifying and in-depth questions, in contrast to those in advanced courses, who focus on clarifying specific doubts. Among others, the challenge of increasing opportunities for interaction between students, promoting the use of clarifying and in-depth questions, and encouraging reflection and collaborative work between teacher educators is discussed. INFORMATION processing , *COLLECTIONS - Abstract
In this article, the theoretical positions that concern the inductive-deductive method are addressed, referring to the bottom-up path, of the first, and the top-down path, of the second. The reasoning is complicated by stating that the inductive and the deductive are two sides of the same coin, putting at risk the strict rigor of science and its inevitable methodological transcendences. The methods were used for the collection of information, such as documents, and those for processing the information collected, such as the analytical-synthetic and the system approach. The basic thesis is that these methods are neither opposed nor juxtaposed, since they are not involved in the formation of the same type of knowledge, a thesis that can serve as a starting point for research that aims at the formation of the scientific concept, relevant to third and fourth level studies. The use of popular culture as a teaching tool is often overlooked in teaching introductory-level political science courses. In recent years, advocacy for the inclusion of popular culture in the classroom has increased due to studies that highlight the benefits of such application in combination with other teaching methods. This paper argues that the incorporation of popular music and cartoons as a combined auxiliary teaching tool is an efficient way to increase students' understanding of theoretical concepts at multiple levels and to encourage them to think unconventionally. Relating political science paradigms and theories to popular culture makes them accessible to a broad spectrum of students and ensures that students become more engaged in the classroom. Students may also be more likely to apply theoretical concepts to real-life events. In this paper, we share our observations of using popular songs and cartoons as supplementary teaching materials and methods to explain theories of international relations and comparative politics. This research article analyses the emotional management of 46 teachers in the department of Boyacá (Colombia) according to their level of professional teaching experience, from the theoretical perspective of Mayer and Salovey's emotional skills. It uses a descriptive-comparative process with different perspectives across three stages: quantitative, qualitative and mixed. It also utilizes the MSCEIT emotional intelligence questionnaire, a semi-structured interview, and an observational analysis. The results show competent development of teachers' emotional skills, but with statistically significant differences in emotional management by experience. The teachers also mention in their narratives that the emotional management that occurs in school interactions and in the educational process has two facets: difficulties and positive emotional management. Similarly, the gestures that are part of non-verbal emotional communication that supports this skill are established. Therefore, it is concluded that emotional management as a skill decreases as experience increases, given that emotional experiences in the classroom generate stress, emotional exhaustion, and even leaving the profession.
