The paper presents some proceedings for solving non-conformities identified in car wiring systems. The root causes that lead to non-conformities in different workstations in the production flow are established and the process of designing and using a Poka-Yoke system needed to improve the assembly activities of the clips of the product “HJD Dashboard Wiring Systems” is highlighted. This system also ensures that the risk of non-conforming parts and the operator’s effort in carrying out the activities is reduced. The Poka-Yoke system is in addition to the other means of quality control used in the company. In order to continuously improve the efficiency of the organization, the quality of the product and the process it is necessary to work in a structured approach, with a proper mentality.

The space industry has a growing interest in microsatellite missions, which are frequently employed in the defense, agriculture, business intelligence, in case of disasters, in communications. The paper presents recent findings from the literature regarding the structure and properties of composite materials, in order to establish the possibilities of their use in the development of microsatellites, in the context of a sustainable development. Innovative composites must have dimensional stability during exposure to thermal cycling in space, low degree of outgassing, high resistance to microcracking, UV radiation, atomic oxygen, proton irradiation and orbital debris.

The advancement of digital printing technologies facilitates alternative production methods to print certified reflective foils used to produce the faces of retroreflective traffic signs. Such products are approved and tested for certification in accordance with standards such as SR EN 12899-1:2007, regardless of production methods while the chromaticity and luminance factors are normative to qualify the product. This paper presents a method for process control and quality assurance using measurement devices and tools employed specifically by graphic technology. The core element is the correlation of the reference colour space (CIELAB, D50) with the standard reference from SR EN 12899-1:2007 (CIExyY, D65), also considering the conceptual difference from circular/elliptical tolerances typically used in printing processes and the colour box coordinates defined by the standard.

The paper presents considerations on quality assurance for products such as preformed boxes, made out of thin cardboard, created through flexographic printing. The elements specific to the technological process are analysed, followed by the setting of the levels of product conceptualisation after the analysis of its functions and the defining characteristics of its optimal quality. In addition, the paper covers some of the procedures which are specific to the quality assurance of the flexographic printing procedures which were implemented in the typography where the case study for certifying the process in compliance with SR EN ISO 9001:2015 was carried out.

The pharmaceutical packaging with engraved Braille is commonly used today. The paper presents the types of defects that may occur to these packages obtained by offset technology and the performance indicators of the quality specific to the manufacturing organization where the case study was carried out. The production process of pharmaceutical products is governed by the Good Manufacturing Practice quality management system. It’s more restrictive comparative with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. There is targeted the 100% quality and the procedures have a special focus on preventive and corrective actions in order to mitigate the non-conformity risk. In the paper it is analysed using the Ishikawa chart the appearance of the defect "pharmaceutical leaflets printed on one side". Corrective and preventive activities are proposed to eliminate this type of defect.

The paper presents the methodology for applying the Poka-Yoke tool in solving the quality problems identified within an automotive industry organization. The case study is conducted for a workpiece called „pallet for transport”. It is shown the process of manufacturing of the workpiece and its operations are analyzed from a qualitative point of view. An interdiction Poka-Yoke device is proposed to solve the quality problem identified at a working post. The components and operating mode of the device are presented. Analyzing the efficiency of the implemented solution, there is a decrease of the operators’ working time and an improvement of their activities. Procedures for dealing with a problem of quality and using Poka-Yoke devices guarantee to the organization that no non-conforming products will be delivered to the customer.

In order to stay competitive, printing companies need to continually improve their business, both in the technical and organizational fields. In this paper are presented some aspects related to the optimization of the technological processes of printing. Printed products such as magazines, brochures and notebooks are often made by offset technology. In order to achieve the actual printing, both web and sheet-fed printing machines are needed. The paper presents the initial version of the production workflow taking into account the available current endowment, both equipment and human resources of the printing house where the case study was conducted. After the study of the time required for each machine cycle, a new, automated production workflow was proposed. The advantages and disadvantages of each proposed option have been analyzed and criteria for optimizing the production flows have been established.

This experimental research was conducted on the printing machines manufactured between 1995 and 2015, owned by CNI CORESI SA, Bucharest and it aimed at a comparative analysis of some constructive solutions of sheet-fed presses parts, the influence of these solutions over the print quality, the productivity level, costs, materials consumption and ergonomics of operation. The time needed for each machine setting was clocked, technological paper loses and ink consumption and working speed for each printing press were measured. We also analysed the way in which the integration into printing press of some operations, initially executed off-line, can shorten production cycles and bring added-value to the printed items. The results of the research have contributed to the optimisation of the production flows in line with the most advantageous use of the available human resources.

The printability tester is defined as a device for uniformly applying a reproducible amount of ink to a substrate under specified conditions using a motorized control of the ink transfer process specific function. This repeatable print operation characteristic may also facilitate the correlation of the actual printing condition set by the primary process parameters specified by printing process, substrate, ink, screening, printing order, etc. By extending the usage and functionality of the printability tester, printers have the possibility to use laboratory test prints as means of process control and correction at a fraction of cost and time.

Offset lithography is one of the most common ways of creating printed materials. Compared to other printing methods, offset printing is best suited for economically producing large volumes of high quality prints in a manner that requires little maintenance. Because of the high speed and the high volume of the printing press, we have to rely on automation for press control and not just to the printer’s eye. When printing an image that has more than one color, it is necessary to print each color separately and ensure each color overlaps the others precisely. If this is not done, the finished image will look fuzzy, blurred or "out of register". To help line the colors up correctly, a system of registration is necessary. Therefore, the use of an automated real time quality control system will result in a more consistent color for the customer and less waste for the printer.

In last decade, the Romania’s regional agriculture has become the main driver of development through absorption of EU funds. According to official data of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Romania has reached 84% (or 12.85 billion euros) in the field of EU absorption funds for agriculture and rural development programmes during 2007-2013. According to the latest EU statistics, in Romania agricultural sector has a high importance in ensuring income through self-employment, while diversification of rural economy remains challenging. Most people engaged in agriculture are self-employed and agriculture accounts for only 3.2% in the total number of the employees in the Romanian economy. The paper intends to assess the stage of development of agriculture in Romania by regions, based on a quantitative analysis, using both national and European statistics. The results of this article show regional disparities of agricultural development in Romania and the need for central authorities to diminish the differences between macro regions in the agriculture field.

Significant climate change implies natural disasters with negative consequences in the short term. Also, when their frequency is high, there are negative effects in the long term as regards economic growth, development and reduction of poverty. The main objective of this paper is to analyse floods in Europe (including Romania), from the viewpoint of their effects. Among the natural disasters, floods have a major economic and social impact. Taking into account their scale and frequency, floods cause considerable loss of life and damage to property, and a better understanding of their effects, by both citizens and decision making authorities, can prevent future development of this devastating phenomenon.

The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the usefulness of the 5S method in addressing the issues of continuous improvement of productivity and quality of work. There are presented the 5 steps, techniques and the adjacent tools. Solutions implemented in the production system Dacia & Renault are indicated. This article provides a practical framework. The 5S method follows the Deming PDCA cycle which constitutes the starting point of the SDCA cycle of continuous improvement of the company's activities in order to obtain excellence. The implementing time of the method depends on the resources and materials allocated. Deployment of 5S is achieved by a scheme of "3+2": the first 3S are tangible and immediate actions, the last 2S appeal to specific management actions. The efficacy of their own workplace in total autonomy creates comfort in the work environment and gives personal benefits to workers.

Over the years, the extreme temperatures had a severe impact on ecosystems and human societies, resulting in negative consequences for agriculture, biodiversity, water supply, industries, tourism, transportation, etc. and generating economic losses. However the amount of the economic losses caused by such extreme events and their impact on European economic sectors cannot be exactly quantified, given the multitude of factors that contribute to the events. The purpose of this article is to highlight the effects of climate change in general, and particularly of extreme temperatures – as they are identified in the academic literature related to climate change – on European economic sectors and government policies.

Since the fall of the communist regime in the early 1990s, the Central and South Eastern European countries (CEE) have gone through several phases of transition, having a mail goal the liberalization of their economies. Experiences taken from centralized planned economy to a market economy, economists have offered an opportunity to study both theoretically and in practical point of view. The economists are still debating various strategies and their economic transition, because the problems of transition in CEE countries are not fully resolved. The purpose of this article was the theoretical and empirical analysis of the privatization of the industry of Central and Eastern Europe, the current European Union Member States and the main economic indicators are built into the process, to identify structural weaknesses in the economies of emerging post communist.

Over the 2005-2013 timeframe, the wheat world market has witnessed an upward trend of quotations at the main stock exchanges in the United States and Europe, while all other agricultural raw materials have seen fluctuations in prices, caused by the global economic crisis. An important influence on the evolution of quotations had the fundamental factors (production, consumption, trade) specific to that product. This paper examines the influences which led to the wheat quotes trends at The Chicago Board of Trade, The London International Financial Futures Exchange and MATIF Futures Exchange (Paris), identifying characteristics of the international market in the period 2005-2012 as a whole, but also a thorough approach of the situation in the year 2013. Also, the second section analyzes the fundamentals of the world wheat market, the main producing, consuming, importing and exporting countries in the agricultural seasons. In addition, a distinct point is represented by the analysis of the wheat market in Romania, both from the prices point of view, and fundamental factors.

This paperwork presents some systems for the adjustment of the main kinematic chains of theVertical Turning Lathes that have been used within the last 20 years. There are presented adjustment systemsused when having the machine equipped with older type motors, with only one speed, and also modern systemsfor which A.C. motors with the speed adjustable by frequency variation are needed. It insists on the presentrole of the “gearboxes” as torque multipliers and not as speed reducer.

Graphic Technology is a direct beneficiary of progress and advancements into the fields of engineering, information technology, physics and chemistry, while the dynamic of this industrial revolution adds new niches and reshapes, redefines and reinvents existing printing applications. The standardization is pushing for better and new modelling of graphic technology processes resulting into more automated and better integrated workflow streamlining the process while reduces the error rate and the need for operator intervention. This challenge is leading to research and development of test methods and specifications aimed at the typical printing production workflow from the original provided to the finished products.
