The use of smart mobile devices and the integration of social networks into the educational setting is a reality that has been widely studied by the research community. Their integration into the educational environment has increased following the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic. In light of the need to explore the conceptions of future educators regarding the integration of these technologies in the classroom after having experienced a health crisis, this study aims to describe the basic components of the conceptions of teacher trainees with regard to the usefulness of smartphones and social media in language teaching in the master’s degree in teaching. During the 2022-2023 academic year, a total of 139 registered students in the Spanish language and literature and foreign languages specialties as part of the master’s degree in teaching in the Andalusian Unified District (Distrito Único Andaluz, DUA) participated in this study. The respondents completed the Usefulness of the Social Media and Smartphones for Educational Action questionnaire (known as the CURSAE, according to its Spanish initials). The results show a trend toward positively viewing the use of smartphones and the social media in the classroom and as an element to establish communication with the various educational agents. The gender variable showed no statistically significant differences, as opposed to age and the specialization studied, which did reveal such differences. The use of these technologies was more widely accepted by younger students and those specializing in Spanish language and literature. The objective of this study was to identify the impact of implementing English as a medium of instruction (EMI) drawing upon Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) methodology in science for pre-service teachers. Lecturers in modern languages and science education collaborated to design and implement the “CLIL-ization of EMI” intervention. The sample was made up of 105 students, 55 of whom were given instruction in English, and 50 in their mother tongue, Spanish. Two instruments for motivation in English and science were applied before the intervention, two weeks and one year afterwards. Additionally, an open-ended questionnaire was used with the experimental group to gain a more in-depth insight into student perception of EMI. Results showed that the short intervention did not impact motivation towards learning English, but it did effect that for science contents in the short and long term. The Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer (ChatGPT) is an artificial intelligence technology that engages in dialogue with humans, capable of generating formulations in the form of micro-narratives that can be problematized as a learning tool in the virtual space. This research aims to understand how ChatGPT can be used in teacher training as a didactic tool to facilitate learning in the virtual space through micro-narratives. We conducted a qualitative study using an action research approach with Brazilian students from the Graduate Program at the State University of Ceará in Brazil. The research consisted of five phases: diagnosis, which involved a mixed questionnaire to assess prior knowledge about generating micro-narratives using ChatGPT; action planning, which involved developing a training plan; implementation of the action, which included practicing the use of ChatGPT to generate micro-narratives and working with them in a didactic perspective in the virtual space; evaluation, which involved sharing the micro-narratives and engaging in circular discussions about them; and learning, which involved documenting the educational possibilities and limitations of micro-narratives. The aim of this study was to develop students’ chemical literacy by integrating dilemma stories into a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) project on petroleum. Chemical literacy can help students face future challenges by applying what they learn at school to solve problems in their daily lives. A qualitative research method was employed that included interviews, observations, reflective journals, chemical literacy tests, and student activity sheets, as data collection tools. 106 secondary school students participated in the research using a project-based approach consisting of five steps: value reflection, problem-solving, project monitoring and evaluation, project development, and transformation. The five indicators of chemical literacy by Shwartz, Ben-Zvi, and Hofstein (2006); general scientific ideas, characteristics of chemistry, chemistry in context, higher-order learning skills, and affective aspect, the research found that the students’ chemical literacy abilities were significantly developed. This study uses a dilemma story to understand chemistry concepts whereby students can develop a project by integrating chemistry and STEAM principles. This research investigates the multifaceted determinants of academic performance in a large-scale study of 5,092 undergraduate students across diverse Moroccan universities. We delved into demographic, academic, psychological, societal, and lifestyle factors, providing a comprehensive analysis of potential influencers on academic success. These dimensions were identified as significant predictors of academic performance, as gauged by the students' Grade Point Average (GPA). The main objective of this article is to highlight the importance of training in digital tools at the university level to foster the development of innovative and efficient data analysis from a scientific perspective. In recent years, despite the extensive research on peer feedback, there remains limited understanding of how students engage in peer feedback activities within online English courses and what they expect from these activities. This study, utilizing a sequential explanatory mixed methods design with a phenomenological approach, introduced online peer feedback (OPF) activities into a 12-week online English writing course involving 30 second-year students (16.7% male, 83.3% female) facilitated through a Facebook group. Data collection encompassed survey questionnaires, written reflections, and task scores. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and bivariate correlations, while qualitative data underwent thematic analysis. Three key findings emerged: 1) EFL students displayed positive engagement in OPF activities, 2) Student engagement did not significantly correlate with their writing outcomes, and 3) Students provided valuable recommendations for enhancing the quality and quantity of feedback, incorporating teacher feedback and guidance, and improving the overall process and experience. These findings have significant implications for pedagogical practice, emphasizing the importance of integrating OPF activities into the academic curriculum, with a specific emphasis on guiding students to deliver descriptive and constructive feedback, providing scaffolding to enhance their comprehension and writing skills, and addressing concerns related to language proficiency and grammar. In the field of complexity, new methodologies emerge, such as horizon architecture, which help to focus solutions that can be integrated to foster innovation in university education. Technologies are also opening up opportunities for training, such as virtual and augmented reality. This article aims to answer the question: What innovations do postgraduate students perceive in environments using horizons architecture to integrate virtual reality? In this project's training experience for students, the horizons architecture strategy was implemented with virtual reality resources and emerging technologies. Mixed method with three instruments (two semi-structured questionnaires and one Likert scale) were applied to 99 postgraduate students in Humanities and Education. Virtual and augmented reality supported the distance education modalities and project presentations. The findings account for: (a) open and systemic innovation, (b) creation of new products and services, (c) the potential of horizons architecture strategy, (d) motivation boosted by virtual and augmented reality, and (e) critical aspects of integrating virtual and augmented reality (technical and academic). This study is focused on promoting self-reflection and self-regulation of learning through the use of digital tools to improve the academic performance of university students. Specifically, the main objective is to evaluate the impact of the use of collaborative ePortfolios on facilitating the comprehension of the concepts being studied. During the 2021/2022 academic term, a voluntary survey was administered to 60 students in the Adaptation Course of the Primary Education Degree Program. Through a structural equation analysis, a theoretical model was analyzed in which the intensity of participation in the ePortfolio appears as a mediating variable between the different independent variables and the improvement in academic learning. The results of the study confirm this mediating function for some variables, while at the same time they show a direct positive relationship between the intensity of participation in the ePortfolio and comprehension of the course concepts. This study made a preliminary attempt to conduct a needs assessment of teachers' implementation of the SSI-based approach in teaching Science by exploring Filipino teachers' awareness, perceived need, readiness, and willingness. It also aimed to determine which among the demographic profile of the teachers had significant differences in their perceived need and readiness. A needs assessment using a quantitative survey research design was employed in this study. The data-gathering procedure was done using a validated online survey questionnaire with a Cronbach alpha of 0.89. A total of 124 science teachers took part in this study throughout the two-week implementation. The gathered data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results showed that more than half of the teachers were highly aware of the SSI-based approach and perceived the need for its implementation in science classes. Teachers were also willing to participate in an SSI training program to learn more about it and develop their own SSI-related materials. Furthermore, gender and specialization significantly differed in teachers' perceived need, while specialization significantly differed in readiness. The industrial work practice program is essential in vocational education to prepare students to work according to their fields. Analysis of the level of capability of students who carry out work practices in large and small industries and the differences between aspects that require assistance to be considered. This research also measures the difference in the level of capability of students who carry out work practices in large and small industries. This research uses a quantitative approach and uses a survey method. Two hundred thirty vocational education students were involved in this study out of 596 students. Sampling using a simple probabilistic random sampling technique and collecting data using a Likert scale questionnaire (1-4). Data analysis in this study used one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and independent sample t-test. The research results on the capability level of students who carry out work practices in large industries obtain a higher score than small industries. The capability aspect significantly differs in value for each type of industry used for program implementation. The results of online learning were not optimal, as evidenced by the unsatisfactory learning outcomes. These issues influenced students who had a poor understanding of concepts and those who were quick to learn. It was the reason for the study that aims to analyze the effectiveness of study, explore, implement, evaluate (SEIE) model e-learning based on project-based learning (PjBL) on the conceptual understanding and agility of students. The research design is a posttest control group design, which is a quasi-experimental design. The sample size for this study is 58 students, including 28 in the experimental group and 30 in the control group. The study used test and questionnaire methods to collect research data. A test instrument in the form of a description of 10 questions was used to assess conceptual understanding, and a questionnaire instrument with 30 statements was used to assess their agility. Quantitative descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis using MANOVA were utilized as data analysis methods and techniques. The findings revealed that the SEIE model e-learning based on PjBL was beneficial in improving students' ability to understand concepts and their agility as learners, both partially and simultaneously. This condition was indicated by the value of sig. < 0.05. As a result, the SEIE model e-learning based on PjBL was effective on students' ability to understand concepts and their agility, both partially and simultaneously. The use of computer applications as learning media has been widely used in the learning process. One such computer application is Augmented Reality. Augmented Reality has advantages in ease of use, media appeal, and mobility because it can be used on cell phones and tablets. Creative thinking is a skill that students need in solving problems in a learning process in the classroom. The research objective is to investigate the effect of augmented Reality on students' academic achievement viewed from the creative thinking level. MANOVA was used to analyze differences in cognitive and psychomotor learning outcomes between the experimental class using AR and the control class using PowerPoint. The results showed that learning media and creative thinking levels affect cognitive and psychomotor learning outcomes. Cognitive learning outcomes of students using AR are higher than student learning outcomes using PowerPoint. Meanwhile, the psychomotor learning outcomes of students using AR are higher than those using PowerPoint. The project presented in this paper aims to formulate a recommendation framework that consolidates the higher education students’ particulars such as their academic background, current study and student activity records, their attended higher education institution’s expectations of graduate attributes and self-assessment of their own generic competencies. The gap between the higher education students’ generic competence development and their current statuses such as their academic performance and their student activity involvement was incorporated into the framework to come up with a recommendation for the student activities that lead to their generic competence development. For the formulation of the recommendation framework, the data mining tool Orange with some programming in Python and machine learning models was applied on 14,556 students’ activity and academic records in the case higher education institution to find out three major types of patterns between the students’ participation of the student activities and (1) their academic performance change, (2) their programmes of studies, and (3) their English results in the public examination. Inequality in education is a challenge that have persisted and still likely to persist for a long time in the field of education because students come into the classroom with different characteristics thus posing a great concern to the realization of classroom objectives. The use of adequate teaching strategy might break this limitation thereby making every student to engage in meaning learning. The two objectives of this study include i) to investigate the effect of brain-based teaching (BBT) method on students’ retention on the topic, heat energy (ii) to investigate if self-efficacy influence physics students’ retention on the topic, heat energy, when taught using brain-based teaching method. We adopt the design, pre-test post-test control group quasi experimental design for the investigation. The participants were 99 (experimental group, n= 46; control group, n=53) students and were selected from two schools in Ondo using random sampling technique. A researcher designed data collection tool titled heat energy test (HET) was used to collect data in this study. HET’s validity was achieved by giving the draft to three science education experts and two secondary school physics teachers for validation. Both descriptive and inferential statistics (Mean, t-test. ANCOVA) were used for analysis. Brain-based teaching method significantly improved the retention of students in physics (heat energy) and also, self-efficacy did not influence physics students’ retention in physics (heat energy). The aim of this research is to describe the impact of implementing an integrated STEAM Project in mobile technology on the Mathematical Reasoning ability of elementary school students and to describe the process of designing an integrated STEAM Project and mobile application. A quantitative descriptive and quasi-experimental research design was employed, with data collection of test (pre-test and post-test), and Questionnaire A pre-test, and post-test was administered to determine the impact of the STEAM Project on students’ reasoning abilities. A sample of 130 fifth grade students, 70 female students, and 60 male students from different elementary schools in Meuraxa District, Aceh Province, Indonesia participated in the research. Results show that an empirical analysis of mobile technology is valid and feasible for use with fifth grade elementary school students. Prior to implementing the STEAM Project, the average pre-test of reasoning ability was 40.44 with a standard deviation of 10.27. After implementation, the average score improved to 84.01 with a standard deviation of 7.31. The results of a Paired Sample Correlation obtained a mathematical reasoning ability score before and after implementation of the STEAM Project of 0.452. The calculations in the N-GAIN test table for the implementation of the STEAM Project on Reasoning Ability found 76 students, or 58.46 %, in the high category, and 54 students, or 41.54%, in the medium category. The results of this study provide information, and recommendations for the development of learning models that could improve reasoning abilities. This research aims to: (1) develop a feasible Android-based comic media of Gajah Mungkur Dam, and (2) reveal the effectiveness of the developed comic media in improving mathematical representation and critical thinking abilities on the materials of work and energy. The research subjects are senior high school students, consisting of 262 students for the empirical testing, 36 students for the limited trial, and 72 students for the field trial. This research is research and development applying the 4D model, consisting the stages of definition, design, development, and dissemination. The research instrument includes a validation sheet, evaluation sheet, questionnaire, lesson plans, comic media, and mathematical representation and critical thinking ability tests. The developed comic media contains an introduction, comic’s work and energy materials, users’ manual, instructional video, and discussion column. The data analysis used the MANOVA test. The finding shows that the developed Android-based comic media of Gajah Mungkur Dam is feasible to use with the assessment score of 3.70 or in a very good category from the validator, and score of 3.10 or in a good category from students in the limited trial. The MANOVA test result shows that there is a significant difference between the control class and experimental class. This study aims to obtain the game as a gamification in education that is appropriate to be used for hydrocarbon learning media based on the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the game. The research method used is the research and development method, the study was conducted in East Java High School-Indonesia. Validity is obtained from the game assessment by the validator. Practicality is obtained from the questionnaire responses of students and observations of students’ activities while using the game. The effectiveness is obtained from the learning outcomes of students, the results of students’ learning motivation questionnaires, and student retention. Based on the results of the research, the game developed is named “Hydrocarbons Chem-Rush” is declared appropriate as a learning medium on hydrocarbon material. Durante la última semana de setiembre 2022 la ciudad de Barcelona acogió la reunión anual de la red internacional I+D CECIAC (proyecto para fortalecer las capacidades de gestión para la innovación de equipos de docentes en universidades iberoamericanas), proyecto bajo el patrocinio y financiación de CYTED. Participaron en la reunión profesores y expertos en innovación tecnológica y social representantes de los ocho países que conforman el proyecto. Durante la semana se visitaron los principales polos de innovación sostenible académica y empresarial de Barcelona, como aprendizaje y conocimiento de nuevas experiencias. Las sesiones internas de trabajo se realizaron en Citilab Cornellà y en la ETSEIB, en el Departamento de Ingeniería de Proyectos y de la Construcción. La reunión terminó con la definición de la estrategia y el plan de trabajo 2023 para la consecución de los objetivos del proyecto. El artículo narra algunas de las visitas y aprendizajes en Barcelona 22@Network, Centro de Control de La Movilidad de Barcelona, Barcelona Activa, y UPC Technology Center., During the last week of September 2022, the city of Barcelona hosted the annual meeting of the CECIAC international R&D network (project to strengthen management capacities for innovation of teaching teams in Ibero-American universities), a project sponsored and financed by CYTED. Professors and experts in technological and social innovation, representatives of the eight countries that make up the project, participated in the meeting. During the week, the main centers of innovation were visited, also from a business point of view and from a sustainability point of view, in Barcelona, as a means of learning about and discovering new experiences, and as a complement to the work meetings that took place at Citilab Cornellà. The meeting ended with the definition of the final objectives and the 2023 work plan of the CECIAC network, the expected year of completion of the project. The article narrates some of the visits and learning in Barcelona 22@Network, Barcelona Mobility Control Center, Barcelona Activa, and UPC Technology Center.

The goal of this meta-analysis is to ascertain how online learning has affected Indonesian students' ability to learn mathematics. Descriptive analysis was used to compile info from 41 pieces of information about the research, such as sample size, standard deviation, mean values for the experimental and control groups, and other data. Data analysis methods include testing for heterogeneity, effect size calculations, summary outcome calculations the random effect models, and publication bias identification. Forest plots are used as the data source for the meta-analysis. The outcomes revealed that the impact of online learning in Indonesia was 1,268 which had a high influence on the education process of student mathematics. The online learning model also has a higher impact at the primary school level than at the middle school, high school, and university levels. Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are abilities that students in the 21st century must acquire. Problem-based learning (PBL) is one of the learning models to improve HOTS. In this study, PBL is integrated with technology through the use of e-modules. The taxonomy of Marzano is the framework used to assess HOTS. Student learning interest in studying geography as a moderate variable is a form of research refreshment that will result in a shift in research trends on PBL. Geography is the main focus of education in the 21st century, especially related to environmental issues. This study aimed to determine the effect of PBL with e-module based on HOTS to student’s learning interest in studying geography. The research population consisted of second-year students (grade 11) of social class in SMAN 2 Semarang (Public Senior High School). The number of each student in the experimental class and control class is 32 participants. This research used a factorial experimental design. The data was collected using a test measuring HOTS and a questionnaire measuring enthusiasm for learning geography. The data were analysed using statistics, including the normality and homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing with the T-test, linear regression, and two-way ANOVA. The results found that: 1) PBL with e-modules had a significant effect on HOTS; 2) student’s interest in studying geography had no significant effect on HOTS; 3) there was no effect between PBL and e-modules with student’s interest in studying geography on HOTS. The HOTS test results were unaffected by the increase or decrease in student’s interest. The HOTS is not influenced by student’s interest in studying geography, but rather by the actual learning; 4) the highest indicator of developing HOTS is the capacity for abstract thought; 5) students conclude that using e-modules in PBL can improve interest for solving environmental issues. This study aims to summarize the research findings on using socio-scientific issues (SSI) in teaching Science. In recent years, teaching based on socio-scientific issues (SSI) is utilized in science education to promote scientific literacy. A meta-analysis is conducted by calculating the effect size of the 12 studies associated with the SSI implementation in teaching Science published in different regions. The overall effect size was large (1.08), and found that SSI affects teaching science. The effect sizes determined by the categorical variables such as scientific literacy aspects showed that SSI had a large effect on content learning (1.15), competence (0.89), decision-making (1.14), and reasoning (0.81); and year level showed that SSI had a large effect on junior high school (1.43) and senior high school (0.96) while medium effect on college (0.55). Lastly, a significant effect was shown on the moderating effect, such as the class size (p = 0.035), while no significant effect was shown on the duration of implementation (p = 0.487). In recent years, the presence of the acronym STEAM has been growing in the educational field. All around the world we are faced with a growing demand for professional STEM skills, however, who has the responsibility to train future STEAM teachers? In this article, we explain the results of an investigation with university students pursuing a degree in primary education and Master’s degree students in secondary education, with technology speciality, participating in a seminar about STEAM projects design in two consecutive academic calendar years (18/19 and 19/20). We analyse the responses to a questionnaire which was specifically designed to discover their knowledge about STEAM and the predisposition towards its extended study with a set of semi-structured interviews to delve into the causes of the responses. Previous knowledge about the meaning of STEM and the predisposition of pre-service teachers towards the future design of projects based on the STEAM disciplines are compared. The results show significant differences between the previous knowledge and the perceptions of the teachers from both specializations: primary and secondary level. The results also confirm the low levels of prior knowledge with a slight tendency towards improvement when two consecutive courses are compared. This study introduces a small-scale chemistry practicum technique with the concept of acid-base identification, determination of pH with indicators, and neutralization reactions with the concept of titration. The first experiences of teachers and students in small-scale chemistry practicums are revealed. Action research was carried out to introduce small-scale chemistry (SSC) practicum techniques as solutions for minimizing chemical tools and materials, as well as the availability of space for school chemistry practicums. This study involved 26 teacher participants in the initial process of providing experience and 36 student participants involved in the process of organizing practical classes. Quantitative data including teacher responses and student responses to the SSC practicum in the pilot class were collected using a response questionnaire on the activity. Qualitative data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The practicum involves qualitative observations and quantitative calculations. The qualitative aspect relates to the observation of color changes that occur in a mixture of solutions made of acid and base solutions with certain compositions. Teachers get a lot of inspiration in terms of chemistry practicum with less material requirements, as well as modifying the tools used for laboratory activities. The package of tools and materials provided an illustration for them that practicum activities do not have to be carried out in a laboratory room, but can also be practiced in conventional classrooms, and even carried out independently by students at home. Nowadays, we talk about the use of gamification in education, an active methodology that consists of the use of mechanics, design or game structures in class. With this type of methodology, the effort is rewarded, which is treated as a motivating tool in class. There is no valid or well-structured instrument to measure gamification properly in education. This research arises from the need to develop and validate an instrument to measure the experience on gamification in educational contexts (EGAMEDU) as a useful tool of diagnosis so that the teaching staff can guide their teaching practice toward the use of this methodology. The sample used for the validation of the questionnaire is composed of 401 participants related to education and gamified experiences. Pre-service teachers need creative thinking and problem solving skills to support their teaching quality. The aims of this research: (1) problems in science teaching, creative thinking and problem solving skills of pre-service teachers; (2) improvements of creative thinking and problem solving skills of pre-service teachers through Ethno-SETSaR Science Teaching Approach, and (3) relationship pattern of critical thinking and problem solving skills. The research method applied in this study was sequential exploratory mix method. The research design consisted of five stages: 1) qualitative data gathering; 2) qualitative data analysis; 3) quantitative data gathering; 4) quantitative data analysis and 5) data interpretation. The subjects of this research were 80 pre-service teachers from two universities. The research instruments were essay tests of creative and problem solving skills. The data analysis used was independent T Test. It could be concluded from qualitative study that science teaching practice was still oriented on content knowledge mastery. It did not improve creative thinking and problem solving skills. Science teaching with Ethno-SETSaR approach was applied as foundation to quantitative study. The result of quantitative study was there was difference in creative thinking and problem solving skills of pre-service teachers. In the past decade, scientific process skills and scientific attitudes are widely regarded as essential factors influencing students’ achievement and their future career choices. Unfortunately, previous literature found that students’ scientific skills and attitudes tend to be unsatisfactory. Thus, cultivating students’ skills and attitudes is seen as a fundamental goal in science education. This research sought to promote scientific process skills and scientific attitudes of pre-service chemistry teachers using REORCILEA (Research-Oriented Collaborative Inquiry Learning). In this quasi-experimental research, a one-group pretest and posttest design was utilized. A total of 50 pre-service teachers (6 males and 44 females) at a medium-sized public university in Indonesia were recruited in this study. In order to gather data, the Scientific Process Skills Observation Checklist (SPSOC) and the Scientific Attitude Survey (SAS) were administered before and after the intervention. The data obtained in this study were analyzed through paired-samples t-test and Cohen’s d. The results showed a significant increase from pretest to posttest in scientific process skills and scientific attitude scores during treatment, each with a high effect size. It can be summarized that REORCILEA is effective in fostering scientific skills and positive attitudes of pre-service chemistry teachers to a satisfactory level. Cooperative learning has positive effects on student motivation, participation, and performance. Following the methodology’s principles, an intervention was designed to be implemented online during confinement in a university subject called Transport Infrastructure (n=40). The data collected shows that the operation of cooperative learning in online environments has the same benefits in improving satisfaction, learning pace, and performance. These findings have implications for future instructional designs in hybrid or online modalities. The cooperative work teaching and learning methodology, if effective, will involve the conscious and sustained effort of a small group of students toward a pre-established goal, where each of its components assumes roles and coordinates their actions to achieve said purpose. In addition, the articulation of their resources-capabilities, the interaction generated between the members during the process, and the preliminary results obtained, promote a greater commitment-responsibility for their work and interdependence and support among their peers, raising the threshold between individual and group. The article allows the effects of this didactic proposal on four elements: the participation rate, the improvement of the learning pace, the increase in academic performance, and the participants’ satisfaction. The results are an increase of 0.5 points in qualifications, 17% in approval rate, and 85% in learning compared to the minimum required (80%). This study aimed to develop an e-content module for Chemistry Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). It examined the validity, reliability and student’s perceptions on content, usability, design and effectiveness of the module. This is a design and development study and the e-content module was developed based on ADDIE instructional design model. Collaborative learning, Connectivism theory and Interaction Equivalency Theorem are the pillars for the module development. The content validity of the module was estimated by three experts using content validity evaluation form. Questionnaires were distributed to the students in order to determine the reliability (n = 23) and students’ perceptions on the module (n = 129). Findings revealed the e-content module has high content validity (CVI = 1.00) and good reliability index (α = 0.94). The mean scores for students’ perception on module content (M = 3.66, SD = 0.55), usability (M = 3.43, SD = 0.56), design (M = 3.41, SD = 0.59) and effectiveness (M = 3.47, SD = 0.56) constructs were high. In intelligent e-learning systems that adapt a learning and teaching process to student knowledge, it is important to adapt the system as quickly as possible. However, adaptation is not possible until the student model is initialized. In this paper, a new approach to student model initialization using domain knowledge representative subset is described. The approach defines which concepts from domain knowledge should be included in the initial test so the system can make conclusions about what students truly know about domain knowledge. This representative subset of domain knowledge is defined using non-semantic mathematical approach based on graph theory. The initial test, created over a domain knowledge representative subset, guarantees encompassing all concepts that are relevant to domain knowledge. A two-level case study is conducted on what would be the representative subset of one selected domain knowledge. It compares semantically selected domain knowledge representative subsets (semantical analysis was done by domain area experts) to a non-semantical, mathematically selected domain knowledge representative subset. Formative feedback plays an important role in assisting students in their learning process. However, administering information about student weaknesses and strengths is one of the challenges faced by teachers when implementing formative assessment. This study aims to develop a web-based formative feedback system that is able to provide specific feedback. This is a development research with steps including needs analysis, model design, model development, and limited model trial. The research has succeeded in developing a web-based formative feedback system through utilizing isomorphic multiple choice items, namely Tryout and Webvoting applications. The results of the initial trial, involving 22 high school physics teachers and 44 prospective physics teachers, showed that the model can be used by both students and teachers. The use of Tryout application allows the teachers to administer individual and groups of students’ feedbacks. Based on the feedbacks and information, teacher also can discuss student’s learning difficulties using Webvoting application. The purpose of this descriptive study was to apply 2nd order confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural relationship models to identify the digital competency components essential to undergraduate students in Thai higher education institutions. The sample comprised 1,126 specialists in Information Technology, Computer Technology, Computer Education, Computer Science, and Computer Engineering working in public higher education instructions throughout the country. The selection was the result of multi-stage random sampling from 76 public higher education instructions that offer undergraduate education. The instrument was a questionnaire form on essential digital competency components for undergraduate students in higher education institutions. The question items employed a 7-point Likert scale and showed Cronbach’s alpha values for the content validity and reliability at a range of.93-.97 per domain and .87-.99 per component. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics for general data and 2nd Order CFA analysis. The findings revealed that from 24 observed variables, there were 7 competency components.: 1) Fundamental of digital; 2) Accessing digital information; 3) Using digital information; 4) Creating digital information and media; 5) Communicating digital information; 6) Managing digital information; and 7) Evaluating digital information. This sequential explanatory design aims at exploring science teachers’ perceptions of technology integration regarding technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) which focused on quantitative findings (survey) supported by qualitative findings (interview). The study involved 356 respondents for the survey and eight participants for the interview. Descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA were used in the quantitative data analysis while for the qualitative data analysis, a thematic process was conducted. Findings show that the science teachers’ perception of their technological-based knowledge is lower than non-technological knowledge namely pedagogical and content knowledge. Further, qualitative findings informed in-depth information about technology integration referred to TPACK namely problems in technology integration, advantages of technology integration, students centered learning, knowledge of new technology and its classroom integration, and peer collaboration. Due to its nature, the teaching of social sciences and the way of thinking of teachers and students maintain a complex, if not delicate relationship. Personal viewpoints and affinities on issues like gender, how things must be done or arranged in class could have a strong influence on the development of a subject. To understand this in a given context, we propose Sternberg-Wagner test analysis and data mining as class tool to identify student behavior patterns and its influence on selected variables (scores, gender, choice of small group for class tasks). As the study shows, significant differences have been detected between sexes as to the form they prefer to do a task, and the way they conceive it.
