The research paper concentrates on the India’s export and its recovering stage after math of global meltdown. Global economic meltdown has affected all over the world in the mid of 2008-09. The effect was across all the countries. India has been influential in recovering the ill effects of recession. The main reason being Indian companies have major outsourcing deals with the US firms and large volume of exports to the US as well as to other countries. From the meltdown effect India faced the challenges like rising inflation, increasing costs, drying cash flow, exchange rate, falling sales, unemployment etc. In the recent period, most of the export industries have recovered as well as exporting successfully in the foreign market .Further outlook is warranted for Indian policy makers, especially in foreign trade, to diversify beyond traditional export and export destinations. Suitable continuous amendments should be given to the foreign trade policy, so that Indian exporters continue to engage in their business actively.

Hydroxyapatite (HAP) [Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2] is an excellent bio-ceramic material for artificial bone substitution in biomedical field owing to its chemical and crystallographic similarities of natural bone and teeth. In this research work, we have attempted the synthesis of hydroxyapatite powders with controllable size in the presence of three different surfactants sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) which is an anionic surfactant, cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as a cationic surfactant and poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) as a non-ionic surfactant. The as-synthesised HAP powders were characterised by analytical techniques such as FTIR, XRD and SEM. The results have shown that the non-ionic surfactant is a better choice for developing this bio-nanomaterial due to its good dispersing power than CTAB and SDS. The results have also indicated that, nano-hydroxyapatite particle has a uniform morphology, well crystallinity and the particle size was controlled with the use of non-ionic surfactant. The crystallite size was calculated using Scherer’s formula. Experiments were performed under controlled environment by maintaining the required pH, concentration and temperature. The biomedical application studies of the as-synthesised material are yet to be studied.

In this paper, we propose inverse image characterizations of sequentially g-continuous mappings. We introduce the concept of a sequentially g-quotient map and discuss some of the characteristics of sequentially g-quotient mappings. The most common uses of mappings are presented as functional characterizations of g-sequential spaces as domains and ranges of certain mappings. There is also some discussion of examples to illustrate the research methodologies.

Hydroxyapatite (denoted as HAP), which is chemically represented as Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2), is an extensively used biocompatible ceramic material for the regeneration of hard tissue because of its crystallographic and chemical similarities with natural bone. In this paper, we report the preparation of strontium (Sr) incorporated nano-HAP powder by hydrothermal coupled microemulsion (HT-ME) method employing DMSO as a primary surfactant. This paper discusses the effect of DMSO as well as Sr in the synthesis of HAP powders. Strontium stimulates the bone formation and prevention of bone resorption while dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) aids in the formation of improved morphological features and structure of nano-crystalline hydroxyapatite powders. FTIR, XRD, SEM and TGA techniques were performed to analyse the chemical composition, crystallite structure and uniform morphology. XRD results have shown the presence of hexagonal structure in HAP while the scanning electron microscopic technique reveals that DMSO assisted Sr-substituted hydroxyapatite powders are not agglomerated and the particle nanostructure is homogeneous. The synthesised powder is to be studied further for its biocompatibility.

An alkyne arms containing salen-type Schiff base ligand, 6,6′-((1E,1′E)-(1,2-phenylenebis(azanylylidene))bis(ethan-1-yl-1-ylidene))bis(3-(prop-2-yn-1-yloxy)phenol) (H2L), is reported here as a dual chemosensor for CdII and PbII ions. The ligand H2L was characterized by various spectral methods. The ligand H2L acts as a dual sensor for CdII and PbII in methanol/HEPES buffer (5 mM, pH 7.3; 1 : 9 v/v) at room temperature with well-separated excitation and emission wavelengths. The emission intensity at 553 nm of H2L is shifted and a new band appeared at 578 nm with the increase in the presence of CdII when it is excited at 420 nm. With excitation at 410 nm, the emission intensity of H2L at 485 nm shifted and a new band appeared at 505 nm with the increase in the presence of PbII. The quantum yield of H2L increases considerably in the presence of CdII and PbII. The compound H2L is non-fluorescent; however, in the presence of CdII and PbII, the compound H2L is highly fluorescent with well-separated excitation and emission wavelengths, indicating that the metal ion is coordinated through phenolic oxygen and imine nitrogen of the Schiff base blocking the PET (Photoinduced Electron Transfer) process and stimulating the CHEF (Chelation Enhanced Fluorescence) process, to increase the fluorescence intensity of H2L. The detection limit values of H2L are in a nano-molar range for both metal ions, confirming very high sensitivity of H2L. The L·MII binding mode and the recognition mechanism of the sensor were explored by Job's plot, 1H NMR, FT-IR, pH and DFT calculations. Besides, H2L was successfully utilized in cell imaging studies for both metal ions in MCF 7 cells.

The unidirectional AC-DC converters that are used in Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEVs) for charging the battery pack can be redesigned for bi-directional operation. This enables both active power support and reactive power compensation to the grid in the reverse direction i.e. V2G mode. Presently available vehicle to grid (V2G) support systems are based on simple phase locked loop (PLL) in which the input phase angle detection takes longer time, in addition to undesirable steady-state oscillations. This paper presents a modified controller that uses second order generalized integrator (SOGI) based phase locked loop (PLL) for tracking the line voltage phase angle and generating the reference phase signal for the charger current of AC-DC converters in PEVs. The converter operates in four quadrants of the active-reactive (PQ) power plane with eight different operating modes, depending on the specified PQ demand inputs in a smart grid environment. The proposed converter system is simulated in MATLAB-Simulink environment and the simulation results prove the stable dynamic response of the proposed controller and assure the required reactive power support functionality of Plug-in Electric Vehicle chargers for smart grid applications.

Hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2) is one of the most essential inorganic compound which is extensively used as a typical bioactive ceramic showing osteoconduction, i.e. bone-bonding properties. In this current study, a spherical hydroxyapatite powder was synthesized by microemulsion method using poly vinyl alcohol (PVA), dimethyl sulfoxide and hexane. The effect of surfactant concentration on the stability of microemulsion method was studied. The prepared poly vinyl alcohol assisted hydroxyapatite powders were characterized by analytical techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic result shows no impurity peaks. X-ray diffraction results shows the phase pure hydroxyapatite powders with average crystallite size of around 20 nm while the thermogravimetric analysis proves the thermal stability of the powders. The scanning electron microscopy result shows the formation of spherical hydroxyapatite nanoparticles with good uniformity, shape and size control which could assist as a great aspirant for potential biomedical applications.

The permanent magnet synchronous generator is increasingly popular due to its advantage of small in size, higher energy density, lower maintenance cost and ease of control. In order to maintain the stability of the grid under fault conditions, an energy storage device becomes vital. Most of the works done for LVRT/FRT using crowbar protection or chopper resistor have been used for dissipating the excessive energy during voltage dips, which increase the temperature across the resistor. However, the proposed energy storage device, super capacitor can cope up with the rapid power fluctuations and stabilize the output power for several tens of minutes. The characteristic of LVRT is found to be enhanced with super capacitor when compared to chopper resistor. In addition to this, super capacitor can be accessed at any operating condition. Simulation results have been obtained using MATLAB-SIMULINK software and analyzed. It is observed that super capacitor based PMSG performs well.

Background: Nephrotoxicity has become increasingly common due to indiscriminate use of drugs. Analgesic nephropathy is a unique drug-induced kidney disease which is characterized by renal papillary necrosis and interstitial nephritis resulting from prolonged excessive consumption of combination antipyretic analgesics. This study was done to assess the renal work load in hospitalized patients taking analgesics and antimicrobial medication by creatinine clearance and to find their consequences. Aim and Objectives: (1) To determine the proportion of participants having altered creatinine clearance. (2) To compare the creatinine clearance among the hospitalised patients on treatment with antimicrobials and analgesics. Materials and Methods: It was a cross sectional observational study in which 1200 patients were enrolled, divided into 2 groups, with Group A: Comprising of those under antibiotic treatment; with Group B: Comprising of those under analgesic treatment. Creatinine clearance was calculated by Modification of Diet in Renal Disease (MDRD) equation and CKD-EPI equation. Observation and Results: On analyzing the drugs causing renal impairment out of 1200 participants, it was found that among analgesics diclofenac (52%) and among antibiotics, aminoglycosides (61%), were more commonly resulting in renal dysfunction. Conclusion: According to the present study, it is clear that precaution has to be taken before initiating antimicrobials and analgesic therapy, as they are often nephrotoxic.

Research and development (R&D) project selection is an decision-making task commonly found in government funding agencies, universities, research institutes, and technology intensive companies. Text Mining has emerged as a definitive technique for extracting the unknown information from large text document. Ontology is a knowledge repository in which concepts and terms are defined as well as relationships between these concepts. Ontology's make the task of searching similar pattern of text that to be more effective, efficient and interactive. The current method for grouping proposals for research project selection is proposed using an ontology based text mining approach to cluster research proposals based on their similarities in research area. This method is efficient and effective for clustering research proposals. However proposal assignment regarding research areas to experts cannot be often accurate. This paper presents a framework on ontology based text mining to cluster research proposals, external reviewers based on their research area and to assign concerned research proposals to reviewers systematically. A knowledge based agent is appended to the proposed system for a retrieval of data from the system in an efficient way.
