Behavioral representations of the patients with depression reflect the clinical features and condition of the patients, therefore it is beneficial for disease diagnosis. However, in the construction of current depression lexicon, the correlation between the behavioral features and the condition of patients in depression texts is overlooked, resulting in incompleteness of the lexicon information. To address this problem, a domain lexicon construction, oriented to behavioral features in depression. was proposed which aimed to extend the domain lexicon's coverage of emotional expressions. Firstly, the seed word sets of sentiment and behavior were constructed by the TF-IDF algorithm respectively, the word set of sentiment was obtained by calculating PMI similarity between the seed word set of sentiment and the existing sentiment lexicon Secondly, the seed words of behavioral were labeled based on correspondence between behavioral features and the condition of patients, and further inputted into WoBERT with depression texts to separately generate dynamic word vectors. In addition, the candidate word set was acquired by calculating the similarity between the seed word set of behavioral and depression texts In addition,based on the similarity between words, the semantic graph was constructed to obtain the word set of behavioral features by label propagation algorithm. Finally, the emoticons with negative emotions on Weibo were collected to build the word set of emoticons. The word set of sentiment, the word set of behavioral features and the word set of emoticons were integrated into the Chinese Depression Domain Lexicon. Experimental results show that the constructed lexicon can improve the effect of depression text classification.

This study aims to provide insights into the relationship between COVID-19-induced social exclusion and quality of life among adolescents and further examines its underlying mechanism. A total of 2,354 (1,024 boys, M[subscript age] = 12.97 years, SD = 1.49) adolescents from Hubei Province, China, participated in this study. Zero-order correlations and structural equation modelling were performed to test the relationships. Results indicated that COVID-19-induced social exclusion was negatively linked with perceived control over COVID-19 threats and quality of life. Meanwhile, perceived control over COVID-19 threats was positively associated with quality of life and partially mediated the relationship between COVID-19-induced social exclusion and quality of life. The findings have considerable implications for interventions and practices to weaken the harmful impact of COVID-19-induced social exclusion on adolescents. Educators should consider implementing related control-enhancing courses to help adolescents strengthen their defensiveness to endure in the face of future misfortunes and promote positive adolescent development.

This study aims to investigate the mediation role of cyber-ostracism to explain the relationship between perceived stress and emotional well-being among college students. We adopted a computer-based experiment, "Ostracism Online," randomly assigned participants to cyber-ostracized (n = 66) and cyber-included (n = 79) groups. The program simulated social media platforms, and participants created self-accounts and gave out Likes. Participants in cyber-ostracized group were manipulated to receive one Like, whereas those in cyber-included group received nine Likes. Before the experiment, perceived stress was measured, and cyber-ostracism and emotional well-being were measured after the ostracism manipulation. The findings revealed that cyber-ostracism fully mediates the relationship between perceived stress and emotional well-being. The results can be used to develop an online intervention for cyber-inclusion enhancement to reduce the negative emotions of stressed college students.

Social media has expanded the scope and method of interpersonal communication, and presents the risk of social media addiction as well. This study reported the psychometrics of the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) and further analyzed the moderating role of peer relationship on the association between negative emotions and risk of social media addiction. A total of 1258 survey participants were asked to complete a set of scales online. Exploratory structural equation modeling enabled BSMAS to reveal a solid one-factor structure with satisfactory internal consistency coefficient. Criterion-related validity and variance explanation rate analysis implied a positive relationship between negative emotions and risk of social media addiction, and identified the significant contributions of negative emotions and peer relationship to the risk of social media addiction. Moderation analysis demonstrated that peer relationship positively moderated the effect of negative emotions on the risk of social media addiction. However, gender was not a moderator affecting negative emotions on the risk of social media addiction. BSMAS was a valid tool for measuring the risk of social media addiction among Chinese adolescents. Empirical evidence demonstrated the significant contributions of character strengths to wellbeing. However, the co- or non-existence of a general factor (G-factor) of good character and the specific factors (S-factors) of character strengths (i.e., inquisitiveness, caring, and self-control) remain debatable. A total of 1866 individuals from Mainland China completed the Three-dimensional Inventory of Character Strengths (TICS), of which a sub-sample (N = 498) also completed the additional Flourishing Scale. The bifactor Exploratory Structural Equation Model (bifactor-ESEM) were tested, results showed the bifactor-ESEM model of character strengths had excellent goodness-of-fit. G-factor and the S-factors were well defined by the presence of strong and significant target loadings. The G-factor and S-factors' contribution to wellbeing were further examined through ESEM-within-CFA (EwC) method. The G-factor significantly explained the 50.3% variance of wellbeing when it was the sole predictor and remained significant when inquisitiveness, caring, and self-control factors were considered. The present study confirmed the G-factor of character strengths and its significant contribution to wellbeing. The Academic Encouragement Scale (AES) evaluates academic encouragement received from someone whom the student respects. This study reported the psychometric properties of the AES among 1602 Chinese adolescents. The results of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) supported a two-factor structure of the AES (i.e., challenge-focused encouragement (CFE) and potential-focused encouragement). Multigroup CFA indicated that the AES showed measurement and structural invariance across gender groups. Each factor of the AES showed adequate internal consistency reliability ([alpha] > 0.84) and test-retest stability (r > 0.75). Correlation analyses demonstrated that the AES subscales were significantly related to academic self-efficacy, hope, and social connectedness in the expected directions, which yielded evidence for the concurrent validity of the AES. Results indicated that the CFE factor significantly predicted academic achievement, but the potential-focused encouragement factor did not significantly predict academic achievement. Overall, the findings support the use of the AES among adolescents.

Previous studies have revealed that cyber-ostracism leads to detrimental effects on individuals' wellbeing. However, only a few studies have explored the underlying mechanisms of this relationship. This study examined the underlying mechanisms in the correlations between cyber-ostracism and the two types of wellbeing (emotional and psychological). In Study 1 (N = 59), we examined the ecological effectiveness of a new paradigm, Ostracism Online, in the Chinese context. In Study 2 (N = 117), we investigated the mediating role of need satisfaction, and the moderating role of psychological stress in the correlations between cyber-ostracism and the two types of wellbeing. Results from Study 1 showed that Ostracism Online is a useful paradigm to manipulate cyber-ostracism in the Chinese context. Study 2 indicated that need satisfaction partially mediated the relationship between cyber-ostracism and emotional wellbeing while fully mediated the relationship between cyber-ostracism and psychological wellbeing. The mediating effect of need satisfaction was moderated by psychological stress. Overall, this study can advance our understanding of the underlying mechanisms between cyber-ostracism and individuals' wellbeing. This study tested factorial structure, reliability as well as gender, age, and cultural measurement invariance of the Brief Inventory of Thriving (BIT). Data were collected from 981 Italian, Portuguese, and Chinese emerging adults. Results showed that BIT scores were reliable, mono-dimensional, and suitable to assess thriving across different populations.

This study examined the validity of a 14-item two-factor person-environment fit scale for creativity (PEFSC) to measure the personal and environmental components of creativity. A sample of 2,475 participants completed the PEFSC for evaluating the factor structure. For convergent, discriminant, and incremental validities, a subsample (N = 362) completed the creative self-efficacy scale, support for innovation subscale of the team climate inventory, and innovative behavior measure. Results indicated the two-factor correlated model showed a better goodness of fit than the one-factor model. Measurement invariance of PEFSC was observed across different genders and educational groups. Internal consistency reliabilities were satisfactory ([alpha] [greater than or equal to] 0.87). The personal dimension indicated stronger associations with creative self-efficacy than with support for innovation, whereas the environmental dimension was related more closely to support for innovation than to creative self-efficacy. Incremental validity was confirmed by significant and additional explanations from PEFSC in predicting innovative behavior. These results consolidated the application of person-environment fit theoretical framework in creativity research.

The current study identified one of the factors that contribute to employee creativity. In addition, it examined the relationship among perceived organizational support, calling, and employee creativity. A total of 410 employees from 68 organizations were included in the sample. The short version of the Survey of Perceived Organizational Support, Calling and Vocation Questionnaire, and Person-Environment Fit Scale for Creativity was administered. Results confirmed that perceived organizational support, calling, and employee creativity are positively and significantly correlated. Perceived organizational support and calling were relevant contributors to employee creativity. The mediating role of calling (i.e., the purposeful work dimension of calling) between perceived organizational support and employee creativity was discussed. These findings may explain how perceived organizational support can affect employee creativity. In addition, they may help unlock employee creativity via perceived organizational support and calling.
