Earlier, researchers tested the feasibility of e-learning for nursing students. However, whether satisfaction with e-learning affects students' mental health remains unknown. This study aimed to determine the influence of satisfaction with e-learning on mental health (stress, anxiety, and depression) among undergraduate nursing students. Methods. This study design was cross-sectional, correlational, and descriptive. Data were collected between April and December 2022 from local nursing colleges in 13 regions in Saudi Arabia. A convenience sampling method was employed to recruit undergraduate nursing students. One hundred forty-four students responded to the online questionnaire. Results. Nursing students demonstrated moderate levels of anxiety (M=9.89 (SD=4.28)), stress (M=10.40 (SD=4.05)), and depression (M=9.64 (SD=4.38)). The average satisfaction with e-learning score was 2.79 (SD=0.85), indicating that students' satisfaction was low. Strong and positive correlations existed between anxiety and stress (r=0.787, p

Studies of clinical populations that combine MRI data generated at multiple sites are increasingly common. The Canadian Biomarker Integration Network in Depression (CAN-BIND; www.canbind.ca) is a national depression research program that includes multimodal neuroimaging collected at several sites across Canada. The purpose of the current paper is to provide detailed information on the imaging protocols used in a number of CAN-BIND studies. The CAN-BIND program implemented a series of platform-specific MRI protocols, including a suite of prescribed structural and functional MRI sequences supported by real-time monitoring for adherence and quality control. The imaging data are retained in an established informatics and databasing platform. Approximately 1300 participants are being recruited, including almost 1000 with depression. These include participants treated with antidepressant medications, transcranial magnetic stimulation, cognitive behavioural therapy and cognitive remediation therapy. Our ability to analyze the large number of imaging variables available may be limited by the sample size of the substudies. The CAN-BIND program includes a multimodal imaging database supported by extensive clinical, demographic, neuropsychological and biological data from people with major depression. Thought suppression increases the persistence of unwanted idiosyncratic worrisome thoughts when individuals try to suppress them. The failure of suppression may contribute to the development and maintenance of emotional disorders. Depressive people seem particularly prone to engage in unsuccessful mental control strategies such as thought suppression. Worry has been reported to be elevated in depressed individuals and a dysphoric mood may also contribute to the failure of suppression. No studies examine, however, the suppression of worrisome thoughts in individuals with depressive symptoms. To investigate the suppression effects of worrisome thoughts, 46 participants were selected according to the cut-off score of a depressive symptomatology scale, and they were divided in two groups (subclinical and nonclinical group). All of the individuals took part in an experimental paradigm of thought suppression. The results of the mixed factorial analysis of variance revealed an increased frequency of worrisome thoughts during the suppression phase, depending on the depressive symptoms. In this study, we aimed to explore the impact of self-efficacy on depression - specifically, to test and verify the mediating role of dispositional optimism between the two variables. Five hundred and thirty-five undergraduates from two universities were recruited and given a Self-Efficacy Questionnaire, Revised Life Orientation Test, and Self-Rating Depression Scale. Results indicated that there are indeed significant relationships among self-efficacy, dispositional optimism, and each identified dimension of depression; structural equation modeling showed that the relationship between self-efficacy and depression is partially mediated by dispositional optimism. The present study tests interaction effects between working characteristics and core self-evaluations (CSE) among managers. Based on the job demands-resources model, we outline that CSE is a buffer for negative health-related consequences initialized by facing high job demands. Moreover, we hypothesize that CSE is positively linked to job resources and motivation. A sample of 282 managers participated in the study in Germany. Results based on hierarchical regression analysis confirmed that high CSE significantly weakens the positive relationship between high job demands and depression among managers. Furthermore, a significant interaction effect between job resources and CSE on work engagement was found. Therefore, the study reveals that it seems unlikely that CSE biases how managers appraise the environment since individuals low in CSE benefitted more from favorable working conditions than those high in CSE.
