Many recent scores based on the inflammatory response, such as Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Platelet Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR), Lymphocyte Monocyte Ratio (LMR) have been demonstrated to have a prognostic value in cancer patients. The ratio between neutrophils and lymphocytes is a very useful tool, most studies admitting its role as a prognostic marker in cancer. We made a retrospective study on 391 patients hospitalized and operated in emergency for complicated colorectal cancer in the Surgery II clinic of the "St. Ap. Andrei" from Galati, Romania, between 2008-2017. We demonstrated that the increased preoperative value of NLR was a negative prognostic factor for long-term survival in patients with complicated colorectal cancer (HR = 7.581, 95% CI = (6.358,9.039) (p = 0.000000)). The cut-off point is > 2.61, with sensitivity of 73.61 and specificity of 100.00. The mean survival time in patients with NLR < = 2.61 was 39,676, 95% CI = (37,189, 42,163) and in those with NLR > 2.61 it was 12,504, 95% CI = (11,747, 13,261), the difference between the survival time of patients with values ​​above the cutoff and below the cutoff being statistically significant (p = 0.000000, Log-Rank).

The study aims to identify the features related to the leisure budget, the factors that limit its value, as well as general and sports activities related to leisure, for a niche sample, represented by the teachers pursuing professional conversion courses in physical education specialization. The statistical calculation and the interpretation of the obtained data validate the working hypotheses, regarding the variety of given answers and the fidelity of the features measured by the questionnaire we made. The diversity of the items allowed the measurement of the opinions of those investigated using the Likert scale, for multiple aspects of the researched problem, as well as a highlighting of the existing differences according to the sex for the measured characteristics. The paper synthesizes defining features for the issue of leisure, in the context of changes in the current socio-economic environment, it is appropriate to continue the study on other representative samples of the population.

Meaningful exchange of microarray data is currently difficult because it is rare that published data provide sufficient information depth or are even in the same format from one publication to another. MAGE will help microarray data producers and users to exchange information by providing a common platform for data exchange, and MAGE-STK will make the adoption of MAGE easier., Background Meaningful exchange of microarray data is currently difficult because it is rare that published data provide sufficient information depth or are even in the same format from one publication to another. Only when data can be easily exchanged will the entire biological community be able to derive the full benefit from such microarray studies. Results To this end we have developed three key ingredients towards standardizing the storage and exchange of microarray data. First, we have created a minimal information for the annotation of a microarray experiment (MIAME)-compliant conceptualization of microarray experiments modeled using the unified modeling language (UML) named MAGE-OM (microarray gene expression object model). Second, we have translated MAGE-OM into an XML-based data format, MAGE-ML, to facilitate the exchange of data. Third, some of us are now using MAGE (or its progenitors) in data production settings. Finally, we have developed a freely available software tool kit (MAGE-STK) that eases the integration of MAGE-ML into end users' systems. Conclusions MAGE will help microarray data producers and users to exchange information by providing a common platform for data exchange, and MAGE-STK will make the adoption of MAGE easier.
