Considering the time-varying meshing stiffness and gear backlash, a dynamic model of gear transmission system is established. The Floquet theory is used to obtain the approximate analytic solution and the stability boundary curve of the transmission system. The Newmark-β numerical simulation method was used to simulate dynamic characteristics of gear system. The effect of time-varying mesh stiffness, backlash and damping effect on dynamic characteristics are studied. The results show that the system may generate parametric resonance when the frequency of parameter excitation is equal to 2/n of the free vibration period of the derived system;The gear backlash leads to multi-value properties and amplitude jump phenomena; The nonlinear vibration response of the system will be decreased with the increasing of the external excitation amplitude, damping ratio and the decreasing of the internal excitation amplitude.

The stresses and deformations of an eccentric cylindrical cam during the process of hydro-joining have been calculated in orthogonal curvilinear coordinates according to the mechanical model of the cam and governing equations in terms of appropriate complex potentials with suitable boundary conditions. The radial and shearing stress coefficients determined for an example cam are far less than that of the tangential stress during hydro-joining. The tangential stress coefficient of the outer surface of the cam is greater than that of the internal surface when the polar angle exceeds a particular value. The position of the maximum value of the radial stress coefficient is located on the internal surface of the cam, and the maximum shear stress coefficient is located between the inside and outside surfaces of the cam. The cam deformations on the internal and external surfaces under internal pressure respectively attain maximum values at particular angles. The maximum values of the radial and y-directional deformations are located at the position of the minimum wall thickness. The radial deformations determined for an example cam are far larger that the tangential deformations during hydro-joining. The errors between the theoretical and numerical solutions for the tangential stress and the y-directional deformation are both very small.

Corrosion medium such as CO2-Cl-causing corrosion pits in the pipe wall exist usually in the service environment of well tubing. These pits will become the fatigue source of the fatigue damage of oil tubing under cyclic loading. In this paper,tubing steel of 13 Cr used in oil well is selected as research object,and CO2-Cl- corrosive environment is selected for simulating the service condition of tubing. In the corrosive environment,fatigue experiments are performed on standard CT specimens to study crack propagation behavior of 13 Cr steel. Crack propagation rate of the 13 Cr steel under cyclic loading is measured in air environment,in Cl- environment and in CO2-Cl- corrosive environment respectively. The change of corrosion fatigue crack propagation rate under the three environment condition is carried out. With the observation of fracture morphology, the mechanism of corrosion fatigue failure of the 13 Cr steel in the CO2-Cl- corrosive environment is analyzed.

Hydraulic fracturing is a new technique which is used in oil yield to maximize its own production. The pumping of fracturing slurry flow through tubing collar can cause considerable mass loss of inner surface materials. This may pose a significantly potential risk even a well loss. Especially, the erosion phenomenon is particularly serious in the structure of variable diameter. Numerical simulation in this paper was used to get particle impact parameters, and it is combined with jet experiments to find out the main factors of BG-13Cr mass loss. Finally, the equation with experimental data was applied to predict erosion rate of premium connection cross-over joint inner wall.

Switching wells in high-temperature and high-pressure gas wells will affect parameters such as the temperature and pressure of the fluid in the wellbore. Dynamic monitoring of temperature and pressure is difficult, and wellbore temperature, pressure, and fluid physical parameters are coupled to each other. Obtaining them separately will lead to large calculation errors. In order to improve the prediction accuracy of temperature and pressure in high-temperature and high-pressure gas wells, Based on the temperature–pressure coupling algorithm, this study compares the advantages and disadvantages of nine classic algorithms based on the temperature–pressure coupling algorithm, considers the impact of high temperature and high pressure on the temperature and pressure of the gas wellbore fluid, and establishes an unsteady temperature–pressure coupling model for high-temperature and high-pressure gas wells under on–off well conditions. Comparing with the measured data, it is proved that the prediction accuracy of the unsteady temperature–pressure coupling model of high-temperature and high-pressure gas wells meets the construction requirements of switch wells. The established model is used to simulate the temperature and pressure distribution of two high-temperature and high-pressure gas wells under switching conditions. The analysis shows that the distribution of wellbore temperature and pressure under the switch on and off conditions is affected by the gas–water ratio, heat transfer coefficient, tube size, and gas well production. Among them, the gas–water ratio increased by 1.5 times, the wellhead temperature increased by 25%, and the wellhead pressure decreased is 7.68%; When the heat transfer coefficient is increased by 1.5 times, the wellhead temperature drops to 34.38% and the wellhead pressure drops to 2.29%. When the tube size is increased by 1.125 times, the wellhead temperature is reduced by 44.20% and the pressure is increased by 6.09%. When the production of gas well is doubled, the wellhead temperature increases by 40.79% and the wellhead pressure decreases by 2.29%. This work addresses the ongoing challenge of optimizing sand control screens, attributed to a limited understanding of screen blocking. A novel one‐way computational fluid dynamics and discrete element method (CFD–DEM) coupling technique is presented to analyze the structural parameters of unconsolidated prepacked gravel screens (PPGS). CFD–DEM involves systematically investigating the width of the punched slot on the outer protective screen, the size of the gravel, and the efficiency of gravel packing to improve the antiblocking capability of unconsolidated PPGS. Results from numerical simulations reveal that under conditions of effective sand control, the amount of sand entering the gravel layer to the bridge (referred to as the sand pass rate) is positively correlated with the antilocking ability (referred to as oil productivity index) for unconsolidated PPGS. The efficiency of gravel packing has the most substantial effect on the antilocking performance of unconsolidated PPGS. The data suggest that appropriately reducing the efficiency of gravel packing can enhance the antilocking capability of unconsolidated PPGS. To design an unconsolidated PPGS with enhanced antilocking capability, the efficiency of gravel packing be determined first. Then, the gravel size is designed based on this efficiency, and the width relative to the gravel size is decided. This contemporary design principle diverges considerably from previous design principles for gravel‐packed sand control screens. Supporting validation experiments agree with simulation outcomes, suggesting the established one‐way CFD–DEM coupling method in this paper is suitable for analyzing the plugging mechanism of unconsolidated PPGS. Nanofluidic energy absorption system (NEAS) with cascade energy absorption characteristics can absorb energy on different levels simultaneously in one system, which greatly enriches its functions and applications. The pore structure and size distribution of porous media play a crucial role in the design and construction of cascade nanofluidic systems. In this paper, two cascade pore models were constructed using carbon nanotubes with different diameters, one was the model of two tubes with both one end immersed in water (DNEAS), and the other was the model of two tubes end to end, with the end of the big tube immersed in water (SNEAS). The effects of temperature-coupled pore size on the infiltration processes of water molecules into two models were investigated. The fitting correlations between critical pore size difference and temperature were established. The microscopic mechanism of temperature effect was illuminated. With the increase in temperature, systems displaying cascade characteristics transformed into a single-stage system without cascade characteristics. Due to the significant size effect of system temperature, the critical pore difference increased with both system temperature and the pore size. The research results expanded the basic database of cascade nanofluidic systems and provided guidance for the application design of cascade nanofluidic systems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The performance of a multi-layer honeycomb skeleton can be significantly enhanced through tandem connection, while the structure's properties can be tailored by altering the layer stacking method of the honeycomb skeleton. To investigate the impact of layer stacking methods on the mechanical properties of multilayer honeycomb skeletons, 3D printing technology was used to prepare double-layer honeycomb skeleton tandem structures with different dislocation modes in compression testing. A finite element simulation model was established to conduct quasi-static simulation research. Compared to that of a single-layer honeycomb skeleton, the energy absorption of the honeycomb skeleton tandem structure increased. The optimal bearing capacity of the honeycomb skeleton was achieved when the upper and lower layers were precisely aligned. Once dislocation occurred, both the value of average platform stress and energy absorption decreased. Then, the bearing capacity of the honeycomb skeleton tandem structures increased with an enlargement of the dislocation, reaching its maximum at the half-dislocation period. An increase in the partition thickness and stiffness led to a reduction in the dislocation-induced effects on the mechanical properties. A nanofluidic energy absorption system (NEAS) is composed of nanoporous material and functional liquid with high energy absorption density. Applying an electric field to adjust the energy absorption characteristics of a nanofluidic system will open broader prospects for its application. In the current work, ZSM-5 zeolite was adopted as the nanoporous material and water, a 25% KCl solution, and a saturated KCl solution were adopted as functional liquids to configure NEASs. Pressure-induced infiltration experiments were carried out to study the infiltration and defiltration characteristics of the NEASs under the action of an applied electric field. The results show that the introduction of an applied electric field can weaken the hydrogen bonds between molecules, thus reducing the equivalent surface tension and contact angle, changing the infiltrability of liquid molecules into the nanopores, and reducing the infiltration pressure of the system. In an electrolyte solution/zeolite system, the anions and cations move close to the two plate electrodes under the action of an external electric field, and the fluid properties in the central zone of the pressure chamber are close to the water/zeolite system. For both an ultra-low conductivity liquid and an electrolyte solution/zeolite system, applying an electric field can effectively improve the relative outflow rate of liquid, thus improving the reusability of the system. As a crucial component for temporary blocking of layer segments in the segmental fracturing process, bridge plugs are difficult to unseal by conventional methods and may cause major downhole accidents if not handled properly. In this paper, a nanofluidic self-heating unsealing rubber cylinder is designed, which is equipped with a nanofluidic self-heating unsealing sandwich inside the conventional rubber cylinder, consisting of a nanofluidic system and an annular flexible heater. When unsealing, the nanofluidic self-heating unsealing sandwich is heated by the annular flexible heater, and the nanofluidic system can help the bridge plug rubber cylinder shrink in volume and unseal smoothly by the characteristics of heat shrinkage and cold expansion. The nanofluidic system, consisting of porous carbon with an exceptionally large specific surface area and glycerol, serves as a prime example for filling the sandwich layer, and the design parameters calculation was carried out. The sealing performance of the designed nanofluidic self-heating unsealing rubber cylinder was analyzed based on the Mooney–Rivlin principal structure by finite element modeling. The results show that the maximum contact stress between the nanofluidic self-heating unsealing rubber cylinder and the casing wall increases by 9.73%, the compression distance reduces by 24.47%, and the maximum equivalent force decreases by 12.17% on average compared with a conventional rubber cylinder under the same seating load. The designed nanofluidic self-heating unsealing rubber cylinder can satisfy the requirements of pressure-bearing capacity and sealing performance and performs better than a conventional rubber cylinder.
